710 King Pen review summary
The 710 King Pen vape scored a little higher on build quality, but was not as strong.

THC cart brands better than Brass Knuckles and 710 King Pen

Here are some brands in California we rate higher than both BK and 710 KP:

Airo ProSelect EliteKorovaKurvanaJustdab, and stick e vape

BK is also in Nevada, so if you are there, check out Roots and Kabunky. They are NV only brands, but both are substantially better. Roots might even be the best in the country.

Brass Knuckles Beats 710 King Pen On Most Categories, Especially Strength and Taste

Most of our readers are looking for the strongest hits with good flavor. Design and Build quality is also important, but most of us would take a stronger vape over just having better build quality. Overall, Brass Knuckles edges out 710 King Pen as a better THC vape cartridge. See main Brass Knuckles’ website here. However, you should check out our Stiiizy review and see why we name that the strongest vape cartridge currently out there.

Heavy Hitters Is For Hard Hits, Some Might Want Alpine Vapor

Most of our readers are looking for the strongest hit without pesticides. Heavy Hitters takes the cake and beats Alpine Vapor in every other category. Users looking for something not as strong still might want to go with Alpine. However, they use old technology on the carts. Brass Knuckles vs Rove : Vape Cartridge Showdown

2
brass knuckles vs rove
We compare the Brass Knuckles and Rove vape cartridges.

Brass Knuckles vape and Rove cartridges have some of the strongest extracted cannabis oil. They are both available only in legal states such as the one I reside in, California. We decided to create this Brass Knuckles vs Rove vape cartridge comparison for those interested on which one was better. We also have an individual Brass Knuckles review  and Rove cart review individually that can be found on our website.

Brass Knuckles vs Rove: Vape Cartridge Oil Strength.

Both of these prefilled vape cartridges have some powerful cannabis extract. Rove cartridges have noticeably much thicker cannabis oil then Brass Knuckles vape cartridges.

Brass Knuckles cartridges are known to be tested as high as 90% THC, while Rove vape carts test as high as 78%. There were times where I felt like Rove cartridges felt stronger. THC is not everything. I vaped well over twenty Brass Knuckles vape pen cartridges and experienced inconsistency with THC strength. Every Rove cartridge I had was extremely potent. Both nonetheless are some of the strongest available on the market.

Brass Knuckles vs Rove Cartridge Design.

These cartridges are both unique with nice features and flaws. Let’s start with the Brass Knuckles vape cartridge: it holds a gram of cannabis extract and has a standard 510 threaded connection. The mouthpiece has a wide single airflow that’s bigger than the average prefilled cartridge. Both of these cartridges have glass and can break if dropped hard enough. Unfortunately, the Rove cartridge can’t vape the thick cannabis oil inside of it on a cold day. I had to warm it up using a raw clipper lighter for a few seconds until the oil liquefied. Rove cartridges really need to improve their cartridge design so it can handle its thick THC oil. Brass Knuckles wins on this vape cartridge design.

Rove vape cart

Rove Cartridges have a better track record for clean cannabis oil.

Brass Knuckles cartridges continue to fail lab test for pesticides. People are taking it into their own hands to randomly check the quality of the most popular prefilled cartridges, including Rove and Brass Knuckles vape carts. A popular Instagram user with the username @datdude41510 purchases prefilled cartridges and sends them to labs to test for pesticides or anything else harmful. He will then post the test results on his Instagram account, he recently exposed Brass Knuckles for failing a lab test for pesticides. This very same individual purchased a Rove cartridge and had it lab tested recently as will, lab results came back clean!

Brass Knuckles gives you more hits than Rove.

Rove cartridges are built to produce cloudy hits! Its because of this feature that its easy to finish the cartridge quiet fast. On average a Brass Knuckles cartridge would last me an extra day more than the Rove brand. The Rove cartridge gives you the closet experience to a dab rig hit. Those who are looking for the perfect to go dab pen will love the rove vape pen set up.

Brass Knuckles cartridges cost less on average.

Both have premium price tags compared to the average price for a half or full gram prefilled cartridge. The lowest price for a half gram Rove cartridge cost $35 in the bay area, the highest is $42. A full gram Rove cart is price tagged at $65. The cheapest price for a full gram of Brass Knuckles is at $60 and highest $80.00. There are no half grams available for Brass Knuckles cartridges at this time.

The winner of Brass Knuckles vs Rove is Brass Knuckles. We really liked Rove cartridges but they fell short in comparison against on strength and design. For some people the pesticide issue is most important, and in that case you should choose Rove vape carts..

Best Cartridges For Illinois 2023: Top THC Oil Vape Carts

    10
    illinois best cartridges

Here we list the best cartridges in Illinois for 2023. Specifically, we’ll focus more on THC oil vape cartridges, usually prefilled with distillate and terpenes. With many brands coming out with new cartridges, it may be difficult to determine which one is the best in the market.

This list is compiled based on products (cartridges) that have actually been tested and reviewed. Or based on our reviewer’s everyday experience living in Chicago. We’ll keep adding more carts to it as we test more out.

You may also want to check out our best lists for California and Nevada. As always, DabConnection never has paid placements. May the best dab carts win.

Our best THC carts list for Illinois 2023

On this best cartridge list, we are not declaring a single winner since there are so many great and potent carts out. Many of these cartridges will vary in pricing and strength. Along with that, there still are many more cartridges that we have yet to try. We will keep adding more brands/cartridges as we continue to review and test them throughout the years.

    Illinois best carts list:

    • Nature’s Grace Joos Disposable
    • Cresco Labs
    • Verano Travelers Disposable
    • Cultivate IESO
    • Aeriz
    • Bedford Grow

Nature’s Grace Joos disposable: Flavorful, strong, and affordable

nature's grace joos disposable pen review
Although Nature’s Grace Joos disposables provide strong and tasteful hits, they’re only .3G’s of oil.

Nature’s Grace Joos disposable is one of the few inexpensive and potent disposables we found here in Illinois. You can find them for around $30-$35 (before tax) in many dispensaries. And they do deliver great flavor and strength. Although they are only .3Gs, Joos disposable pens give a nice and lasting high. For its price, I find it to be great value if you want a quick, easy-to-use, and cheap disposable.

The Joos disposable we picked up was around 86% THC. The oil is slightly dark and dense, and also It gives nice strength all throughout the pen. But I should mention that they’re not the most efficient. When you’re almost done with the disposable, you can never finish the little bit of oil that’s left inside them. It may not be a lot, but after a few disposables, that little bit of oil does accumulate. And no one wants to waste any of their concentrates.

See our Nature Grace’s Joos disposable review for more info.

Verano Travelers: One of the most tasteful and potent disposables

    verano travelers disposable review

Verano Travelers disposable provides strong and flavorful hits. These disposables are .3G’s, just like Nature’s Grace Joos, and go for around $40-$50. Although they are pricier, the quality of the oil makes them well worth it. Verano is a well-known brand that people know for their quality and potency.

The particular disposable we tried it at 74% THC, but it does feel a lot more potent. With just a few hits, you get a nice high with lasting effects. And as for the flavor, it is very smooth and tasteful. But just like most disposables, they aren’t as efficient as cartridges. As you’re almost done with it, you can’t finish the little bit of oil left. In my experience, Verano Travelers is more efficient than Nature’s Grace Joos, I was able to smoke more oil with Verano.

See our in-depth review of Verano Travelers disposable here.

IESO: Smooth and flavorful cartridge, fair strength

    ieso cartridge review

I was debating whether to add the Cultivate IESO cartridge, just because it isn’t as potent and is somewhat pricey. But the quality of the oil does taste very clean and tasteful. Along with that, it’s way more efficient than the disposables mentioned earlier. The price is $50, before tax, and these are only half-gram carts. But for Illinois, this isn’t bad in price in comparison to the prices of other half-gram cartridges.

See our in-depth review of the IESO cartridge here.

    Cresco Labs Carts

Cresco is known for having one of the best carts in Illinois. Their carts are strong and tasty and they have many subbrands like Sunny Side and Good News.

You can check out our review of a Good News cart here.

    Aeriz Carts

Aeriz Carts are known for their consistency and high quality. You can find out more about these carts here.

    Bedford Grow Carts

These carts are known for being high quality but they are also very expensive, a cart could go for even 80 dollars. You can find out more about these carts here.

As of now, prices for cartridges and tax in Illinois are pricey (August 2023)

As of 2023, after looking through Weedmaps and multiple dispensaries, We have noticed that almost all half-gram carts are $50-$80 in Illinois. Prices will vary depending on location and dispensaries. But that is the average price for just half a gram, a full-gram cartridge can go from $60 to even over $100. This is pretty expensive, in Cali you can find many good cartridges for half the price.

Along with this, taxes are currently very high compared to other states. According to the Illinois Department of Revenue, taxes are currently 10% for anything below 35% THC and 25% for anything above 35% THC. When I purchased the IESO cartridge, I ended up paying around $13 in total taxes. Hopefully, the prices and taxes here in IL drop soon.

Fake cartridges that have been spotted

There are many fake cartridges in Illinois and also unregistered black market brands. Many of them can be found all over the Midwest, in states where both cannabis is legal and illegal.

Even though recreational use is legal in IL, there are still a lot of unregulated, black-market cartridges being distributed. They may be a lot cheaper than going to get a cartridge in a dispensary, but you can never be sure what’s actually in them. Often the actual dollar per high cost is higher from the black market because many of the carts are weak.

Here’s a list of a few fake and black-market cartridges I found here in IL so far:

Concluding the Illinois best cartridges list

There will always be new brands and new vape cartridges coming out within the cannabis market. There are still many cartridges we have yet to review and test out. As of now, carts are pricey in the state of IL along with taxes. Hopefully, this post gives you a little guidance if you plan on purchasing a cartridge.

Best Delta 8 Cartridges 2022 – Top Delta 8 THC Vape Carts

    0
    best delta 8

On this list, we have the best Delta 8 brands. Moreover, here we specifically list Delta 8 THC cartridges. This list is compiled by unbiased reviews, on products we actually tested. As we find more Delta 8 brands and cartridges or find existing companies to be better (or worse), we will continuously update this list.

    Best Delta 8 THC cartridges

Here on DabConnection, we’re always compiling reviews to see if the product is worth their value. This best delta 8 list will be unbiased and based on our personal experience with them. DabConnection doesn’t promote any sponsored posts nor affiliates. Furthermore, this list will be in the order of their value, dollar per dollar. Just because they’re in the middle or bottom of the list, doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Some are actually great and even my favorites, but they’re either pricier or needs some form of improvement.

Something I should mention, all of these brands do carry authentic lab results on their original website. You can find the lab results inside the review of the post.

Delta 8 cartridge best list – directory:

Dimension 8: Variety of tasteful strains for a great value

    dimension 8 review

Dimension 8 cartridges carry a wide variety of tasteful strains, these are one of the most tasteful delta 8 cartridges for its price. Currently, half-gram cartridges go for between $10.49-$14.99, which is a steal. The two strains we tried is Sherbert Chaos and Gelato Ice-cream, both very tasteful carts. Delivering a sweet flavor and with nice hardware, Dimension 8 gives some pretty nice hits. Not the smoothest, but they are 99% D8 THC. Whether you’re looking for something inexpensive or a good-tasting D8 cartridge to try, highly recommend these. For its taste and effects, they’re definitely worth the experience.

You can learn more about their cartridges here.

    CannaClear: inexpensive, good taste

    canncaclear-delta 8 review

CannaClear Delta 8 is going to be one of the top ones, just because of the value and price of these cartridges. The price for a full gram cart goes for $15, which is a great deal. The potency of the oil isn’t the strongest, nor is it the smoothest, but the taste they deliver is pretty good. The strain we tried is Fruity Pebbles, and it really does taste as the strain says. Not tasting artificial at all, these turned out to be enjoyable to smoke. I highly recommend these if you’re looking for an inexpensive and good tasting Delta8 cartridge.

You can learn more about CannaClear here.

3Chi: Great hits, nice taste, and the most effective

    3chi delta 8 thc

3Chi Delta 8 is also one of my favorite cartridges I’ve tried. From the taste and the effects they deliver to the way they hit, these cartridges are great. The oil quality is a water-clear color and is pretty potent for delta 8. Actually one of the most potent feeling and effective D8 cartridges on this list. Not the smoothest, but still very efficient and effective. The price for a full gram cartridge is currently $34.99, which is a fair price. For its value, well worth the try and experience.

You can learn more about 3Chi D8 here.

Hometown Hero: Smoothest delta 8, but the priciest

    hometown hero review

Hometown Hero carts are one of the smoothest D8 carts we’ve tried so far, on this list. These full gram cartridges contain 600mg of Delta 8, have no cutting agents, and only use all-natural infused terpenes. They are only 80% D8 THC, so they’re not the most potent. But with how smooth it hits and how good it tastes, these are very enjoyable. The only downside I found to this company is that as of now, they only carry one strain, Strawberry Cough. Other than that, these carts are great, well worth the experience.

The price for these is $50, which is actually the priciest D8 cartridge on this list. But because of how smooth they hit how great they taste, it may be worth the value. If you’re biggest thing with Delta 8 is the harsh hits they deliver, then I highly recommend these carts, they really are the smoothest D8. Along with that, they donate a portion of their sales to the Veterans within every purchase.

You can learn more on Hometown Hero Delta Red here.

Custi Carts Delta 8: Fair effects, decent taste

    custi carts review

I wouldn’t necessarily put Custi Carts on the top of the list, but this cartridge does deliver fair effects and gives a decent taste. Another thing is they give pretty nice hits, not much to complain about these carts. As for the oil quality, it does deliver fair potency. Would recommend it if you’re looking for a new type of Delta 8 cartridge.

The price for these full gram cartridges go for $35, and they have a fair selection of strains to pick from. Not a bad value at all, but I wouldn’t really say it is my favorite or first choice. These are worth the try and experience, but you do have plenty of options to pick from at this price range. With carts half that price, like Dimension 8(.5 gram) and Custi Carts(full gram), you may want to consider your options.

You can learn more on Custi Carts here.

PurLyf delta8 cartridge: Nice effects and taste, hardware needs improvements

    purlyf review

PurLyf D8 cartridge delivers fair hits and effects. Nice potency and interesting taste, the strain we tried is Blueberry Lemon Diesel. These carts give a nice experience, tasting more a lot like blueberry diesel. The price for these full gram cartridges is $34.99, which is fair for Delta 8. As of now, PurLyf carries 3 different strains for their Delta 8 carts.

The biggest issue with these carts is the hardware they use. Not the most effective, nor the most efficient. I felt as if the cartridge prevented me from having the full experience of the distillate. Once the cartridge was halfway done, it would keep getting clogged. Other than that, the distillate itself is pretty good. But again, the hardware really does prevent from getting good hits.

To learn more about PurLyf delta 8 cartridge, click here.

    delta 8 thc cartridge
After a while of usage, these cartridges may get clogged, as shown above.

Urb Finest Flowers: Fair effects, but hardware needs improvements

    urb 8 review

With Urb Finest Flowers Delta 8, unfortunately, I didn’t get the best experience out of them. Having tried two different strains, Lemon Haze and Purple Punch, I kept getting light hits off both carts. One of them actually broke on me before even hitting it well. The effects are decent, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the taste. There may be a slight chance that the hardware may affect it, but unsure.

The price for these full gram cartridges is $40, and they now provide a more variety of strains from the last time we tested these. The price is a bit high, compared to other brands and cartridges. At this price range, you have plenty more options. If anything, at this point with the price, I’d rather just buy Hometown Hero D8. My biggest thing with Urb’s Finest Flowers is the hardware they use. Just as the PurLyf, except worse, they prevented me from getting the full experience.

You can learn more about Urb D8 carts here.

Delta 8 Hemp : Smooth, Tasty, Unexpectedly Strong

    delta8 hemp review

It is rare that a delta 8 cartridge has a strong enough effect that even the veteran THC vapers can get a buzz off it, but these Delta 8 Hemp (a brand name) pens actually came through! While we have had some issues with hardware clogging on the pen model, that might have been a one-off defect. We do notice that  the CCELL pods deliver smooth, strong oil with a major delta 8 effect. View our full Delta 8 Hemp review here.

Wrapping up our Best Delta 8 cartridge list

Whether you’re looking for something inexpensive, or something that is worth the experience and money, this list should give you some guidance. Maybe you’re just starting off and want something inexpensive. On the other hand, you could be looking for something that hits smooth, since Delta 8 is usually harsh, and perhaps you don’t mind spending the extra money. Again, as more companies come up or update their cartridge, we will update this list.

Chil Vape Review: Strong THC Oil Cartridge and Great Battery

    chil vape review

Chil vape cartridges are filled with premium cannabis oil distillate. The brand is based in California, and their goal is to chill with us. Chil’s carts and batteries are manufactured by Claremont Capital Partners and distributed by Yerba Buena Logistics. Their products are available around California.

    Pros:

    • Superb Oil Quality
    • Excellent flavor
    • Intense high
    • Amazing battery life
    • Huge clouds every hit
    • Super smooth vape

    Cons:

    • The starter kit is not cheap

Recommendations: I think the price would be better if they had .5 gram starter kits available. Although this may seem unnecessary, a consumer with options is a happy consumer. Because people make decisions between products based on price. A lower price increases accessibility.

Licensing Information: Claremont Capital Partners, LLC CDPH-10002823 Los Angeles, Los Angeles County

    Chil vape cartridge and battery
Not too big, but not the smallest

For this review, I tested a Chil starter kit. Which came with a 1 gram cartridge of Purple Punch an indica strain.

Continue reading to see our more in-depth review.

Chil vape cartridges are amazing overall

They use improved CCELL hardware for their cartridges and they’re large compared to previous models. The mouthpiece is solid glass, reinforced with a steel collar where it meets the tank. The collar has the Chil Crown symbol around it.

The tank is also glass and attached to a very nice steel base. The pin that screws into the battery has four air holes around the outside. However, despite all the steel, the cart doesn’t weigh very much. Overall, it feels very strong and sturdy. Everything about the Chil vape cartridge feels and looks right.

The cartridge is premium quality with a state of the art design

Although the brand claims it’s necessary for a smooth vape the size of the cartridge seems unnecessary. However, after my first puff, I could feel it’s necessary. My Chil vape cartridge hits super smooth and takes no time heating up before a puff. Chil uses painstakingly designed vape cartridges, and they easily burn thicker concentrates. They use ceramic wicks which keep the oil vaping cool and preserves all the flavor of their distillate.

Chil’s battery is great and it works perfectly with their cartridges

They’ve taken great care to design the perfect battery for their cartridges. The battery has four slits along the top, where you screw in the tank. These four slits work in tandem with the four holes on the cartridge. Which creates great airflow that keeps the cart hitting smooth and cool. The Chil battery has a simple steel body that looks sleek and sturdy. Although the battery has a 510 thread, this particular design works best with their improved CCELL cartridges.

The battery’s adjustable output feature sets a new standard for adjustable batteries

My Chil battery came with a handy notebook on how to use it to its full potential. It works similar to other adjustable batteries, but Chil’s is really neat. It has an adjustment mode, which allows you to set the output level. It’s really easy to get used to, but it can also be easy to forget.

Here’s how to enter the ‘adjust mode’ of your Chil battery

    • Pressing the button 3 times will activate Chil battery’s output adjustment feature
    • While the feature is active, 1 of the 3 indicator lights on the battery will start flashing. (Fig. 1) The flashing light indicates the current output level.
    • Pressing the button while your battery is in ‘adjust mode’ increases the output level. You should notice the flashing light is now up one level (Fig. 2)
    • Hold the button down for 2 seconds to exit the output adjustment feature
Light Indicator for changing output levels
    (Fig. 1)
    light indicating output level.

    Indicator light for Output adjustment
    (Fig. 2)
    Power output indicator

Each of the 3 lights represents a different output level. The top most light has the highest output, and the bottom-most light has the lowest output.

I recommend the lowest output if you want a stronger flavor. The higher settings don’t taste burnt, but some of the flavors is lost and it just tastes hot.

    Closeup of Chil vape cartridge
    Beautiful cart

Chil vape cartridges have superb distillate quality

The oil is crystal clear with a fairly thick consistency. It has a deep orangish-yellow color that reminds me of honey. Though the distillate is much lighter than honey. I can smell the oil through the mouthpiece and it smells delicious.  My Chil vape cartridge smells like grape jelly. However, it does have a sort of artificial flavor. Like a grape candy instead of actual grapes.

The high is spectacular and intense

The high takes effect right after I take my 2nd puff. It peaks very quickly and Purple Punch has a heavy high. The high isn’t cerebral but it does calm me down. It relaxes my body and is perfect for shutting off your brain and watching something. However, this particular Chil vape cartridge is not good if you want to focus. It’s hard to focus my thoughts on work when I vape this. So I use it on weekends if I’m not working. It’s perfect for creating art.

The flavor of the cart is very interesting and delicious

The purple punch strain I tried has a curious flavor. At first, it tastes like flower with a mild musty undertone. However, on the exhale it tastes like grape jelly or a purple jolly rancher. The flavor profile is a lot like Papa’s Herb. Although, It tastes slightly bitter when I smoke it constantly. The flavor goes away quickly so it’s not a problem like some other carts. As always, there’s a slight sour tinge to the flavor and smell.

Chil vape cartridge and battery side by side
    Light and sturdy steel battery

One of the smoothest burning carts I’ve ever experienced

The Chil battery heats the distillate very quickly. However, it doesn’t ever taste burnt. The fast heating makes huge, thick clouds. Even on the lowest setting, the distillate heats up very quickly. However, the Chil battery stays very cool, even though I vape heavily. I don’t know if the steel body helps with keeping it cool, but the vape is never harsh. The big hits leave some smoke in my lungs after I exhale. That causes me to cough, but the vape itself isn’t harsh.

Concluding this Chil vape cartridge and battery review

Overall Chil seems to have exceptional products. The battery is great and hits best with their CCELL cartridges. It works for other 510 carts, but they don’t have the same airflow as the Chil vape cartridges. Altogether the starter kit was a great buy.

I didn’t expect the battery to be as great as it is, but I was pleasantly surprised. The cart lasts a long time and it hits hard with only a couple 3 second pulls. The distillate is superb, the battery and cart are technical powerhouses. I will definitely try another strain in the future

Fake Pure One Cartridges: Counterfeit THC Vapes

    9
    empty counterfeit Pure One carts

Pure is a vape company operating out of California. We’ve covered a couple Pure products, the Pure Vibe and the Pure THC syringe, before. Inevitably, Pure has gotten to be a big enough brand that counterfeit knock-offs have begun to appear.

Fake Pure One vape carts are popping up everywhere

That’s the first thing to to know about Pure Vape products is that they do not sell online. They have a list of licensed distributors where you may find their products for sale. The second thing to note is that their distributors are only in California, so if you find a Pure Vape sold by a distributor outside California, it’s also not kosher.

The Pure company even uses “a proprietary triple distilled oil,” aimed to be solvent-free and tested to be pesticide free. So if you’re getting a counterfeit, none of these standards would obviously be in effect.

The listing on DHGate for Pure One Vape hits 205 results!

Normally we find half a dozen or so listings. Pure must have exploded in popularity on the black market for it to have this many. Pure One is, naturally, their cartridge model.

hundreds of counterfeit Pure One carts

Furthermore, a few bunk cartridges have clearly hit the streets by now, as reported by reviewers who have encountered shoddy imitation products:

    bad review of fake

Not only that, but a concerned Redditor encountered suspicious cartridges in this thread, which gives us a few other clues. The customer got the cartridge from a delivery service. Delivery services in California, not to point fingers, have been known to be conduits for counterfeit cartridges. There’s a ton of fly-by-night THC delivery services listed on sites like Yelp, many of them literally closing down their website within weeks of their single review.

We found a black market seller on Twitter:

    illicit cartridge operation

In fact, that whole hashtag soup there lists the who’s who of frequently counterfeited or fake brands. Smart Carts, TKO, and of course the ubiquitous Dank. Wise vape users might just want to make it a rule of thumb from now on: Any distributor who even lists Dank, bail out pronto. Do not pass “Go”!

    Here’s another red flag:

    illegal cartridge distribution on Twitter

“You don’t see it you tell me I got it” – that’s because he’s ordered truckloads of cheap empties off DHGate for pennies apiece and it’s the same bunk he’s pouring into every cartridge. Brand and strain info mean nothing!

Not to mention in the first place, Pure One does not sell online, ever, so every distributor offering to sell you Pure Ones over Twitter is a sham. We’ll say the same for Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Pure One users: Encountered a counterfeit?

We’re all ears! Thank you vigilant readers in your continuing efforts to keep the vape community safe! Talk to us here in the comments or in our forum.

Aliens Rx Cartridge Review: Vape at your own risk

Claimed to be a cannabis cup winner, Aliens Rx carts are definitely a good hit, but where is the source? A California based company with a mysterious background, AliensRx remains a low key company. Research showed nothing about them on cannabis cups, but one strange thing did pop up.  The website for Aliens RX and original Instagram are currently down. Now they are up as @AliensRx_Cail.

On that Instagram account, they list a California License number 10002329, belonging to Loud Pack, makers of Heavy Hitters. You can search for it here. AliensRx might be made by Loud Pack, but we emailed them to confirm and will update this post once we receive a response.

    Pros:

    • Appears to be licensed
    • Strong

    Cons:

    • No background information
    • Heavy terp flavor tastes almost artificial
    • Pre-printed THC claims probably false
    • Flavor sour
    • Vitamin E claims have been made, but not verified

Notice: DabConnection does not offer any medical advice nor guarantees the safety of any of the products reviewed on the site. The FDA currently advises against vaping THC. This particular product appears to be black market and may pose additional dangers beyond state-regulated cartridges.

Fake info right out the box on Aliens RX carts

    AliensRx out of the box.

A shiny little box with strange figured characters and an alien face, no child safety lock and they come in 26 pieces per box. This cart seems very suspicious given the information available. The box seems very attention-grabbing but that’s about it. Claims to be 98%, but unless it’s a sticker with fresh lab results, we don’t trust it.

The background behind AliensRx and OxClear

    AliensRx have a shiny packaging.

Aliens Rx might just be a labeling company similar to Dank Vapes or any other black market cart, the only difference is the this one states the company that produces them. Besides that, all the information we could find is provided by threads and people, concluding these carts still have almost no background.

Taste is very unnatural on the Alien RX cartridge

Taste of AliensRx is very artificial.

Claiming to be Do-Si-Dos but definitely reintroduced terpenes have been added and you can clearly taste it. I don’t want to say it’s an unpleasant flavor but definitely was an unusual taste. Terps seem to ruin this cart. When terps are reintroduced they most likely aren’t MJ derived and in this cart, you can definitely taste a strong flavor. Unnatural terpenes are not recommended by some for vaping.

AliensRx Oil Quality is a mystery

AliensRx has a good build quality.

Claims to be a Cannabis Cup winner and SC Labs certified, but the oil definitely doesn’t compare to any dispensary cartridge I’ve had. Very thick oil doesn’t seem diluted, but the amount of terpenes added seems very excessive.

After a small amount of research done there were claims of the company using Vitamin E and causing problems in its local community about a year ago. After seeing that, I instantly put the cartridge down, I’d rather be safe than sorry. I was hoping maybe they changed that since I did happen to hit on it before stumbling across that, but evidently there is no way in surely knowing.

    Concluding the AliensRx Review…

    aliens rx vape cart
    Instagram has different packaging.

Always trust your source and be cautious about what you consume. Although the first hits I did in this cart made me feel decent, the information that could be gathered made me definitely reconsider.

CBDFive Vape Pen and Cartridges Review: Disappointing

    cbdfive vape review

CBDFive vape kits are manufactured in China in-house by the company itself. Claiming to have worked with prior “big names” in the industry, they exclusively create vape kits. Today we will be looking at their CBDFive vape pen and seeing if it holds up well to the competition or not.

    Pros:

    • Catchy visual design on both packaging and vape pen
    • Smaller cart hits well and consistently
    • Quick charging

    Cons:

    • Vape cart glass doesn’t feel properly tempered
    • Larger size vape cart shattered from light impact of forearm
    • Disturbing amount of plastic components in smaller sized vape cart
    • Doesn’t work with most carts due to not having a through-hole for air unless you partly unscrew them, making spotty battery contact.
    • “Intended purely for aromatherapy use” warnings, speaking to lax standards

Recommendations: Properly tempered glass or temperature resistant hardened resins would make this something I could actually recommend, as it is now I honestly could not at all as it is simply too fragile. As well, the smaller cart claims to use “ceramic components” but upon close inspection, much of it appears to be plastic. Something I really don’t want near a ceramic heating element. Also, the electrical contact for the cart to the battery is a loose piece of copper wire, easily bent or broken off and intensely unprofessional in appearance.

    CBD5 exterior package
The overall packaging of the CBDFive vape kit immediately gives away its cheapness. It tears and creases easily and has an overall cheap appearance and feel.

Fix all of these things and that would be a step in the right direction. I would also recommend not using cheap felted card stock for the internal packaging, high quality card stock would give a much better use.

Getting rid of the aromatherapy markings would also help the packaging. A company claiming it is safe means nothing with that. As it stands it reeks of cut corners and profiteering on those not paying attention to details.

    CBD5 exterior package text
You can clearly see in this image that this pen is marked as intended only for aromatherapy use. Considering the recent deaths and VAI going around, this is not exactly encouraging.

CBDFive aims to bring CBD to the masses

Do they manage it? They don’t need to. This statement is pure marketing as is this entire vape kit. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt as much as I could but I can’t help being highly critical of it with all of its glaring flaws.

Right from the outset before even getting the vape kit open there is obvious corner cutting visible. On the back of the packaging is text that reads, “Only intended for aromatherapy use.” This is an immediate red flag. The cardboard is also cheap and not damage resistant. Inside the box the vape pen is inside cardstock and felt.

    CBD5 interior packaging
The cheap looking interior packaging is an immediate warning sign.

Flashy, but does the CBDFive vape pen have substance?

The visual design of the pen itself is quite eye catching and at least is the one thing it has going for it. It has an aesthetically well done rainbow metal finish. The refillable cart’s finish looks the same. The power/mode button is a slightly recessed hexagon. This makes it impact resistant, ironically. A bright LED that changes color with the power mode surrounds it. I immediately noticed something a bit off with the smaller of the two carts. The element housing inside is white plastic instead of the usual metal. This is where things immediately start to come apart.

    CBD5 carts loose
Both of the offered refillable cartridges have issues, what kind of issues is different for each.

Plastic on the inside of the CBDFive cartridge

Once I opened the package and looked in on the workings of the CBDFive vape pen I noticed that the smaller of the two carts appeared to be primarily plastic in construction. It is both quite light for its size and the white sections have a slight plasticity, certainly not ceramic despite its claims. The contact for this cart is also a simple bit of copper wire hanging down to touch the battery contact. This is an easily damaged critical piece, openly exposed. Not to mention it just looks generally unprofessional. The larger of the two carts is of a common design and it has a poorly painted fill line.

    CBD5 large cart
The design of this larger cartridge is of a very easily recognizable and quite dated type. As one expects this means its performance is quite lackluster.

CBDFive vape pen: smaller cart hits better

Upon filling them both up there was a clear difference in the performance of the two. The larger cart hit very inconsistently and often very weakly, even with preheating before each hit. The smaller cart hits much more consistently and heavily, but I was never able to shake my unease about the very apparent plastic components.

I immediately noticed that the feeling of the glass on both carts is not quite right. The texture is that of improperly or untempered glass, with a distinctly fragile and rigid feeling rather than a smooth and robust feeling like that on a cart by CCELL. It appears thinner than what’s common in the industry. I wrote this off initially.

    CBD5 small cart
The smaller cart performs better than the larger one but the white plastic components are incredibly unnerving.

The scene of the disaster… CBDFive cart breaks

While out in the backyard working I was carrying the pen with me and dropped my hand to my side, hitting the chamber of the larger cart. I immediately heard a loud pop but didn’t think it was anything, I figured it was a rock under my shoe. That all changed when I lifted the pen to take a hit and immediately noticed a spiderweb of cracks now across my half-used cart.

I quickly brought it inside and attempted to save the oil by draining it out. While handling it to attempt doing so it literally disintegrated in my hands, leaving a huge hole in the chamber. Truly disastrous. I was not expecting my hand to break the glass nor have all the glass crumble after, making it impossible for me to recover the oil.

    CBD5 broken cart
You can see here the large hole that opened up upon hitting it.

Wrapping up my CBDFive vape pen review…

I want to give this vape pen a fair shake and see how it performs, but I’m just very disappointed. It’s component quality is questionable at best, bad at worst, and my attempts to reach their customer service for comment went totally unanswered. I cannot recommend this vape kit to anyone, there are far better options out there for any price point. Maybe if they clean up their act they may have a chance but they don’t look to be in great shape at the moment.

Cart Toon Cartridges: Unregistered THC Vape Brand

Here we take a look at Cart Toon Cartridges which are THC cartridges that are recently showing up everywhere. These carts do not seem to have a central oil producer and appear to be just a packaging company, but we cannot find their packaging directly for sale. The hardware used on the carts looks like it could be CCELL or a similar clone.

Cart Toon Cartridges are popping up, but they are not registered in a legal state

    cart toon cartridges
You can even find Power Puff carts.

Toon Carts seem to be unregistered and you cannot rely on the “brand” Toon Carts to deliver anything specific as if it were a state-registered brand like Select Elite. The hardware does seem to be consistently the same though. They all use the same CCELL (or clone) style cartridge, some with ceramic tip and some with a metal tip.

Cartoon characters on THC vape cartridges

    cart toon cartridge south park
Johnny Bravo and South Park are there too.

Toon Carts feature various cartoon characters on the packaging. Spongebob, Disney characters, Dragonball Z, Rugrats, South Park and  Thunder Cats are some of the characters you will see on Toon Carts. They would not be able to get away with these trademark violations if the company was legitimately registered. Disney and other cartoon creators would be litigating them if they continued operating after sending cease and desist letters.

There’s an Instagram, but no proof of making oil for Cart Toon Carts

You can see their Instagram page here. They don’t show anything but already filled cartridges and related packaging. No pictures of any grows, extraction facility, or anything else that would indicate a place of business where actual THC oil products are made. At the time of this posting, there have been no posts for them for over 17 weeks.

Can’t find their packaging on DHGate or Alibaba

    sponge bob cartridge
Even Spongebob is not immune to Cart Toon carts.

We searched around trying to find their packaging for sale online without oil in it, just like you can find fake Dank Vapes. However, we could not locate anything. Even name specific cartoon and vape searches turned up no results. Previously any brand that was a blatant trademark violator, like Mario Carts, could also be found on DHGate and Alibaba.

What can we expect from Cart Toon Carts? Uncertainty

Since there are no lab results we are not sure if Cart Toon Cartridges will be clean or not. There is nothing to indicate strength either. Based on a visual test the oil does look decent, but you never know for sure until you hit it.

Have you hit on some Cart Toon Cartridges? We would love to hear your feedback on them. Comment below or post in our forum!

Best Cartridges For California 2024: Top 22 THC Oil Vapes

    79
    best cartridges california

Here we list the best cartridges for California for 2019. Specifically, THC oil vape cartridges that are prefilled. This list is compiled based on our reviewers who actually used the products. This list will be continuously updated throughout the year as we discover new cartridges and existing companies make better (or worse) products.

If you are looking for specifically live resin, check out our best live resin cartridge list that includes carts from California.

The best cartridges in California list

On this best cartridge list we are not declaring one single winner since there are so many good carts and so many out there. These carts we list are ones that shined above the rest. Additionally, since California is a big state, this list is based on reviews from our reviewers across the state.

Before we did our list we took a look at a few others on the internet. We found that some were done by people that never even tried the cartridges. Pay for play on weed sites is common. Then there’s the issues with WeedMaps reviews. That’s why we made DabConnection: to bring you unbiased info and honest opinions from experienced reviewers. We don’t charge for reviews nor do we allow anyone to pay for a favorable reviews or placement on a list such as this anywhere on our site.

Some of the other carts from Cali we reviewed:

    The Clear Disposable

Below we will go through each brand that earned a spot on this list.

Aces Extracts: Might be the strongest overall

    aces extracts vape pen
Aces Extracts’ uses real CCELL hardware.

We recently tried Aces Extracts and even though our review is not up yet, they deserve a spot on this list. Although Aces vape pens might not be heavily advertised, they are heavy on strength. Their Energize vape really does energize you and the flavor is very similar to Kabunky, one of our favorite Nevada brands. The Aces vape we tried was about 80% THC, but effects were stronger than other carts that we tried that tested over 90% THC.

They won some awards from High Times as well, one of them being People’s Choice award in 2018. That’s probably the most important award from High Times, and the only one we care about, since the rest of the first place spots seem to only go to people that spend a lot on advertising with them.

You can learn more about Aces Extracts here.

AiroPro: Unique hardware and awesome taste

AiroPro is also available Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and Maryland. They are made by Airo Vapor. So keep that AiroPro battery with you when you travel. It made second place on our Nevada best cartridges list only because it was edged out by Roots cartridges, which are not available in California.

    airo pro
AiroPro requires its own unique battery.

They use proprietary hardware and a vibrating battery that produce great results. The hardware, although not denoted, is made by CCELL so quality hardware is ensured. AiroPro makes strong oil that has some of the best flavors. Some have complained that the AiroPro battery is $35. Check at the dispensary or store you are at, if they have the battery without the case, then it’s just $15. Considering how good these hit, it’s worth getting the new battery. See our AiroPro review for an in depth look at this vape setup.

Alpine Live Resin Cartridge – Great Quality, Taste, and Effects

Alpine Live Resin was a pleasant surprise, given that our previous review of Alpine Vapor products found us wanting. These limited edition Live Resin cartridges lived up to our every expectation in quality, taste, and effects.

    alpine zkittlez punch

We tried three varieties of their Live Resin cartridges: the Zkittlez Punch, the Golden Strawberry Lemonade, and the GMO x BP9. All three maintained exceptional quality across the spectrum, with the Zkittlez being our favorite. Alpine also uses ceramic cartridges, which hit great. We’ll consider these among some of the best live resin carts going, which is not a consideration we meet out easily around here! View our full Alpine Vapor Live Resin review for the breakdown.

Buddies Brand Live Resin Cartridge Review – Excellent Quality, Potency, and Taste

    buddies brand front box

Buddies Brand has a reputation for quality products in the vape puffing community. We gave them a try, and discovered that they do indeed live up to this reputation. While this “Liquid Diamonds” Live Resin did seem to burn a tad fast for our speed, we did enjoy it while it lasted. The cartridge could also be improved by going to glass instead of plastic. But besides those points, the oil is potent and tasty and we can’t argue with the reasonable price either. View our full Buddies Liquid Diamonds review here.

Chemistry: Strong and flavorful full spectrum oil

    chemistry cart
Don’t let Chemistry’s low THC percentage trick you.

These things are simply strong. Chemistry cartridges may have lower looking THC percentages sometimes, but the strength is there. We put these ahead of most carts in the 80s and 90s and for those looking for the most calming effect, this may be your best choice.

From flavor to strength, the Chemistry cart is an awesome choice. It may not have cool advertising, but we’ll take good oil over that any day. See our Chemistry cart review for more info.

Dime cartridges: Hard hitting, tastes great

With an excellent overall quality, the Dime cartridge is a patented zero-waste atomizer. The distillate is one of the smoothest vapes you’ve had that doesn’t hit hot. The cartridge is an efficient design that doesn’t waste a drop.

    dime cartridge

The Dime Industries cartridge is tasty, smooth hitting, and has a quality buzz that makes the cartridge last for weeks. They hit well without being harsh, and is priced reasonably. The oil is almost indistinguishable from super-clean e-juice.

Read the rest of our Dime Industries cart review here.

Eden Extracts: Pricey, but worth it

    Eden Cart Tube Open
Eden Extracts carts are really high quality.

The Eden Extracts cartridge was a bit more expensive than most of this list, but well worth it. The cart we reviewed was from their Diamond Line. Quality oil, unique hardware that did not disappoint, and a strong high are some of the reasons Eden Extracts makes this list.

We hope to see this brand in more and more stores in the future. Check out our Eden Extracts review for more info.

HiFly Sauce Pods : Budget-Friendly, Potent Sauce Option

In California, sauce pods for $25 for a half gram and $50 for a full gram pre-tax is unheard-of. These are the real deal, full-strength potent albeit lacking in the taste department. In this case, it gets a pass for being the most affordable sauce in Cali.

    hifly oil close up

With darker and thicker oil, these pods remind us of Heavy Hitters in the potency department. Put sauce in a VFire pod system and sell it for rock-bottom prices for California, and we have to take notice! The strong effects are initially uplifting and euphoric before settling into a more relaxed mode. They do feel a tad harsh and the flavor is the weak point, but this is a sauce pod after all. Check out our HiFly Sauce Pod review for our full impression.

Jetty Extracts: Clean, strong oil with great taste

Available up and down the state, Jetty Extracts has tested clean in more than one independent test. They deliver on strength, flavor, and they use authentic CCELL hardware.

    Jetty Extracts cartridge
The Jetty Extracts Gold Maui Wowie .5-gram cartridge

The wood tipped cartridge is a nice touch. Their packaging is awesome too, but we judge it based on the actual oil and hardware. With industry veteran Nate working behind the scenes you know they are going to keep coming out with top notch products. He used to run the best downtown San Diego dispensary and he is a true expert in extracts. See our Jetty Extracts cartridge review for more info on their dank carts.

Justdab: Mostly in the San Bernadino but they are great if you can find them

Justdab is a smaller company that is not advertised. Their carts are popular in the San Bernadino area and it was recommended by a budtender over Brass Knuckles cartridges. I found one place in Los Angeles that carries their cartridges.

    justdab cartridge
You might not see it on a WeedMaps ad, but Dino locals know it’s top notch.

Their extracts are available at more places than their carts. They use good hardware and awesome live resin. Taste and strength are both excellent on Justdab cartridges. At $30 most places they are a great value as well. See our Justdab cart review for more info.

Korova Cartridge: Known for edibles, and now carts

    korova cartridge review

New to the game of THC oil carts, but been around the cannabis industry in CA for a long time, Korova came out strong. Their carts have excellent strength, use new gen CCELL hardware, and are priced competitively. Considering how long it lasts and how strong it is, the price is a great deal.

Korova is now available in Arizona, California and Nevada. Check out our Korova cartridge review for an in depth look. See Korova’s store locator to find their carts near you.

Kurvana ASCND: From the bottom to the top

When we reviewed the original Kurvana cartridge we were disappointed. Kurvana was there before cartridges were strong, so it’s not unexpected that they had an original formula they used for a while that was pretty weak. Then they changed their hardware and formula, relabeling their carts as Kurvana ASCND.

    Kurvana ASCND
The Kurvana ASCND Amnesia Haze .5-gram cartridge and packaging.

They came back strong with the ASCND and now it’s one the best cartridges filled with THC oil in California. Check out our complete Kurvana ASNCD review for more info.

Moxie Pods: Top quality oil, top strength

You can’t go wrong with a MOXIE pod. From start to finish, the MOXIE pod is awesome. Back when we reviewed Moxie cartridges, we found them to be acceptable but mediocre, less than we expected form the Moxie name. The Moxie Pod, however, gave us the full Moxie experience and blew us away on strength.

    Moxie Pods

MOXIE pods are straight fire on strength. Super strong oil, combined with one of the hardest-hitting pods that you can get results in an ultra-strong hit and effects. We had some minor nitpicks on efficiency and design, but still found the pods to be good on overall build quality.

Share our buzz with the Moxie Pod experience at our full review.

Nuvata vape pen: Hard-hitting and delicious

Nuvata vape pens are a recycle-able single-dose pens with a THC distillate. They’re famous for their unique body and bold color scheme which is helpful to neophyte vapers. They use pesticide-free cannabis cultivated throughout California.

    Nuvata vape pens

Their high is a force of nature, while their tastes and bold and appealing. The pens are top-quality design, with anti-clogging technology, dual air-flow mouthpieces for smooth hits, and precision heating with a ceramic coil. The designs overall are a sleek, discreet wonder of molded plastic which is finger-friendly and about the size of a pack of gum.

We had much more praise for this quality product, so read our full review of Nuvata pens here.

Old Pal is the best value on a legit vape cartridge in CA, but users report varying quality (Dec 2020 Update Below)

    old pal cartridge review
Old Pal carts are consistently great and priced low.

Update 12/15/2020: Due to many comments on YouTube and our site about varying Old Pal experiences we feel the need to post this message. Our experiences with Old Pal have been great but people have commented that at times the products have been awful. The amount of comments to this effect makes us this it might be very likely and thus we post this warning that experiences with Old Pal seem to vary greatly by batch in both California and Nevada.

When people first see an Old Pal cart on the menu they may ask, why is it so cheap? We’re not really sure yet either, but the quality is excellent. You can often find 500mg carts for $15 and 1000mg carts for $17 in California.

Hardware is good, the oil is thick and the effects are strong too. Old Pal might be the best dollar for dollar cannabis products anywhere. They also made our best cart list for Nevada.

See our Old Pal review here for more info.

Plug Play vape: vFire based with great oil

Plug Play is a direct competitor of Stiiizy (who would have made our list had it been as strong as it was in 2017). They use the vFire pod system made by ALD.

    plug and play vape
Plug and Play vape is great for taking with on a hike.

The pods hit well and Plug Play uses great quality oil in the pods. They used to be labeled as Plug and Play but more recently we are seeing it only labeled as Plug Play. See our Plug Play vape review for an in depth look at this great THC pod system.

stick e vape: Strong all around and great flavor

stick e vape is made by Tradecraft Farms, a Southern California based cultivator. Their buds are great and so are their cartridges.

    stick e vape cartridge
Closer up shot of the oil

Strong and with a great waxy flavor, these are a great pick and they won a High Times award last year. Although our readers put little weight on High Times awards, their cartridges are legit on quality. See our stick e vape review for an in depth look.

From the top to the bottom: Stiiizy previously weakened oil, but now may be coming back

There’s a ton of other cartridges out there that are great we have not tried and there are others we tried that were not exactly great. Then there’s Stiiizy. It was one of the best THC oil vapes in 2017 and over 2018 they changed their oil to a weaker formula. However, recently Stiiizy oil has been looking lighter again, and we need to try it again to see if it is as good as it was.

    stiiizy
    Back of a Stiiizy box

Their hardware is made by ALD just like vFire used in the Plug and Play vape. The new generation CCELL cartridges perform better than Stiiizy’s pod setup (or Pax Era’s), but if Stiiizy is coming back in with some stronger oil it might be a winner again.

Lots of old reviews are still out there

Stiiizy went from a light colored fine distillate to a yellow colored oil that we are not sure how it’s made. But now it has come back to being a light distillate again, but we have not yet tried the latest version. We recently updated our Stiiizy review to reflect the current state of their pods. The hardware is still great it just needs strong oil added to it. If you have a Stiiizy battery and pod lying around, check out our guide on how to refill a Stiiizy pod.

Raw Garden: Weaker than before, and it’s not real live resin

    raw garden
Some great looking live resin in this Raw Garden cart.

Overall, for the price Raw Garden carts are not that bad, but they do not warrant a spot on the best list anymore either. They are not as strong as when they came out and they currently are the subject of a class-action lawsuit.

See our Raw Garden review for more info.

Heavy Hitters Live Resin : Still Expensive, No Longer Live Resin

Heavy Hitters! Oh how you fell from grace! Heavy Hitters was on our list for the longest time, but as of 2024 we were disappointed to discover that they no longer use live resin wax. It’s a shame to see a good brand go low quality after all this time, while still keeping its brand-name inflated price tag.

Once, HH Live Resin did wonders to redeem the Heavy Hitters name. Our full HH Live Resin review here.

Select Elite: Has gotten weaker over time

Select Elite is made by Select Oil, originally founded in Washington by Nitin Khanna. A great sounding name for starting a cannabis company. They are in multiple states and previously also made our best list for Nevad as well. Now Select Elite carts are weaker than they were before. They never had great taste, but they sued to be strong as well. Now they don’t meet the requirements to be on the best list.

    Select Elite Mendo Breath Cartridge
Select Elite is a great choice in any state.

Select had one issue we came across. Their packaging claimed 80% THC and in fact it was 86% THC when tested independently. So their stuff is sometimes even better than they say it is! See our oil pen tests page for more info on Select Elite pesticides and solvent tests.  In a dispensary and don’t know what to choose? Good chance Select Elite is there and it’s a great choice.

The only change we would like to see on Select Elite is ceramic top carts. Only had one fail on us but it would have been way easier to transfer the oil on a ceramic top CCELL. The plastic tops are very hard to get off, if you can get em off at all. Check out our review on Select Elite cartridges for more info.

Sunday Goods: Little known brand that makes strong vape carts

Intense effects and true to strain flavor, Sunday Goods cartridges are a little more expensive than average for California at $45 a pop, but the quality makes it worth it. Our reviewer picked his up from MedMen San Diego and was impressed with it’s quality.

    Sunday Goods cartridge
    The Sunday Goods trainwreck cartridge

Sunday Goods carts are available across the state and are a solid choice for someone looking for a good strong cartridge. Check out our Sunday Goods cartridge review for more information.

Sunderstorm Wind: Top quality oil with a strong hit

    Sunderstorm Wind cartridge
Wind vape carts work with any 510 thread

Made with pure TCH distillate, the Sunderstorm Wind vape cartridge we tried was the first name in top oil quality. Sunderstorm, an L.A. company, manufactures and distributes their own product, and it shows. A sturdy cart with a pesticide-free distillate that hits smooth and packs a potent punch. The mouthpiece is designed for maximum airflow, big hits and thick, satisfying clouds.

This is what a real 90% THC cartridge feels like. The distillate has CBD present, which gives it a full body effect that’s nearly hallucinogenic. According to the COA, the batch of distillate we tried tested negative for nearly everything, being produced with zero solvent and filler. It had just enough terpenes to add a bit of taste and some extra buzz. Check out our full Sunderstorm Wind vape review here.

Wrapping up our Best Cartridges California list…

California has a lot of cartridges to choose from. We hope this list gives you some guidance on great brands if you are looking to pick something up. Things change often with cartridges. New brands come out and existing brands up the quality of their formulas, so we’ll keep updating this page as we go through more THC carts. Sometimes you see cartridges go from good to bad, or weak to great like Kurvana.

Best Cartridges For Nevada 2022: Top 15 THC Oil Vape Carts

    12
    best cartridges nevada

Vape cartridges are everywhere and are now the preferred method for blazing THC  oil among many. What’s not covered on most sites’ top lists is that the cartridges change from state to state. Some brands cross over states, but only a few. Here we go through our picks for the best THC vape cartridges for 2022. This list will be continuously updated throughout the year.

If you are looking for specifically live resin, check out our best live resin cartridge list that includes carts from Nevada.

Our list of the best cartridges in Nevada is based on actually using them

Our overall best THC distillate cartridges for Nevada are from Roots and Cannavative when it comes to straight strength. The overall strongest live resin carts for Nevada have been from AiroPro, HSH, and Fuze. The overall best-tasting cart that still has great strength is IndoCart, particularly Sky Daddy OG.

Roots Extracts is a small company and not advertised, but you will find it in the store – they sell out quickly.  Same thing with Cannavative. For some reason, those two brands of carts seem to just disappear from the shelves. We have actually used the cartridges we are listing here. Be wary of the best cartridge lists where the writers have not tried the carts. This seems to be common.

At this point with only state legalization, cartridges are a state-by-state evaluation for the most part. You will find a couple of brands crossing over states and you will see some of those brands on our list as well, but even the same brand in a different state is made with different cannabis at its base. Cannabis sites are notorious for paid promotion and some will start to give you skewed lists as well. Since we know Weedmaps reviews are rigged, they can’t be trusted either to deduce the best THC cartridges.

Now we will go through each cart that makes our best-of list. We will continuously update this list as we review more cartridges or if things change. DabConnection reviews are 100% bias-free and no company can pay for any placement or ranking on our site. May the best THC cartridges win and the worst be noted so you save money.

702 Brand : Impressive cart in a plain package

We encountered 702 Brand carts on a random stop at one of our favorite dispensaries, and grabbed then for a “wild card” cart review. Even though the bag packaging led us to expect a low-quality product, we were pleasantly surprised.

    702 brand cartridge front view
702 Brand cart comes in a very basic packaging

Inside the unassuming little black bag is a CCELL clone of a M6T which is a solid hardware choice. It’s filled with a half gram of quality distillate using real cannabis terpenes, producing a tasty vape that reminds us more of live resin than distillate, flavor-wise. The oil was thick and consistent, giving us a last puff that was enjoyable as the first. The thing we learned when we tried the 702 Brand cart is “don’t judge a book by its cover.” Our full 702 Brand review here.

Airo Pro: Consistently the best on taste and a close second on strength

Airo Pro is a brand of Airo Vapor uses its own proprietary battery and cartridge system. Many have complained that the battery is $35 but in fact you can find it without the case, by itself in the box, for a very reasonable $15. I bought one for this much at Essence Tropicana West (well actually I redeemed free credits, even better!). Their proprietary system is manufactured by CCELL. It gives a great hit, is consistent, and efficient.

Sumatran Sunrise is one of the best strains they have. A super energetic sativa. While getting second overall and being second on strength (the most important factor on our list),Airo Pro also has the best tasting THC cartridges in Nevada. Mountain Mist in particular has an awesome menthol taste to it. Airo Pro is also available Colorado, Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona and Maryland.

Bring that battery with you when going to another state! See our complete Airo Pro review for more info. Airo Pro ties with Cannavative for second as both have comparable strength cartridges.

BaM Pods: Can’t believe a Gio Pod ranks this high, but their BHO oil is just too good

Body and Mind is another lesser known company that is producing amazing oil. The only BHO based pick on this list, their 91% THC Bubble Gum was one of the strongest vape pods we have ever tested. BHO in some states can mean left over solvents from shady practices. In Nevada the testing is strict, so that BHO is clean!

Taste was also excellent unless you burn the wick. The downside to BaM is their oil is paired with the G Pen Gio. See our breakdown of the G Pen Gio and you will get why this is a bad thing. Hit it too hard and you burn the wick. That burn taste sticks with you for the rest of the pod.

That being said, BaM makes such a high quality oil you cannot deny them a top spot as one of the best cartridges (or really a pod here) in Nevada. We hope to see their oil in CCELLs or syringes sometime soon and if so, they could be ranking higher. Our BaM pod review covers their pods in more detail.

Cannavative: Awesome strength, high end oil

    Cannavative_cartridge_new_logo

Cannavative is newly added to the lineup in September of 2019. They use clear distillate in their cartridges that has a unique look. The company is also known for making some of the world’s best shatter. Their carts have become very strong and they use the same TH2 CCELL as Roots. They are tied with Airo Pro as some of their carts and Airo Pros are matched on strength.

They place above Select Elite due to better taste and hardware. Our top strain pick for Cannavative is Double Dream. See our in depth Cannavative cartridges review for more info.

Fuze Live Resin: Strong, sweet taste, long-lasting effects

    fuze live resin review
An almost all the way used Fuze cart.

Fuze Extracts makes both a distillate and live resin cartridge. While the distillate is still good, the live resin is top-notch and makes a spot on our best list. It also made a spot on our nationwide list of the best live resin carts.

Natural, sweet flavors, the best glass CCELL TH2 hardware, and strong effects that last long, make these some of the best THC vape carts available. See our in-depth Fuze Live Resin review for more info.

HSH Live Resin: Top quality, best resin, unbeatable hardware

    hsh cart box

We followed a blind recommend from The Dispensary in Las Vegas, and we were never happier to do so. HSH (High Sierra Holistics) puts top-notch live resin into a top-quality CCELL TH2, resulting in the best half gram of puffing we’ve had in recent memory. The tasty oil satisfied, the cart lasted a long time, the cartridge hit strong without wasting oil, and we even left it sit around for a month to see if the oil discolored, which it did not. Another great live resin story!

IndoCart: Really Strong and Incredible Taste

    indocart sky daddy og
Sky Daddy OG tastes like a fresh nug cracked open.

IndoCart puts out some excellent products. They use real cannabis terpenes and we are yet to try an IndoCart that is not strong. On top of that the taste is excellent. Sky Daddy OG might be one of the best tasting carts we tried at DabConnection. The oil on IndoCarts is also thick and lasts long. They say High Potency Distillate on the packaging, and that’s definitely whaat it is.

When you see an IndoCart you know are going to be in for a high-quality experience all around.

    See our IndoCart review here.

IONIC cartridges: Super strong with excellent taste

    ionic cartridge

We might be cramming up the #2 spot with another tie, but IONIC is super strong. After this one we might just rearrange this list a bit. Basically, IONIC is super Stoney, tastes as good as distillate can, and lasts quite a while.

The only thing we want changed is make it a glass cart. Other than that, it’s perfect and you can check out our IONIC cart review here.

Kabunky: The best house brand you probably haven’t heard of

Kabunky is available in a decent amount of Nevada dispensaries, but it’s primarily known as the house brand for Nevada Made Marijuana. We frequent their Laughlin location and they have specials on Thursdays with lower prices. For much of 2018 Kabunky had reverted back to old style cartridges and it really hurt the brand’s performance. It went from being one of our favorites to something we would not buy. The oil was still good, but the hardware was just awful.

    kabunky cartridge review
Dear Kabunky, please reproduce Strawberry Lemonade!

Since then they have changed their hardware back to the new style and it’s much better. The Kabunky Kwik stick disposables are excellent as well. One particular cartridge, Strawberry Lemonade by Kabunky, was the best cartridge I have ever had. Unfortunately, that cart has not been reproduced at the same THC level. Only a high CBD version has been on the shelf. If Kabunky could reproduce that 86% THC Strawberry Lemonade, they might be the best THC cartridge in Nevada or at least on par with Roots’ Cheese cartridge for the top spot. Check out our Kabunky cartridge review for more info.

Moxie Pods: Strong quality oil lives up to the brand name

MPX Live Resin carts have long lasting effects, awesome taste

    mpx live resin
Our lighting was bad on the day of the MPX Live Resin review.

Melting Point Extracts is a multi-state company existing in Arizona, Maryland, and Nevada. So far we have only tried the NV version and it is impressive. Nice sweet taste, long-lasting effects and they use glass CCELLs. Not much more we can ask for. The most noticeable thing about MPX Live Resin carts is how long the effects last, well over an hour in most cases.

For more info on MPX Live Resin cartridges, check out our in-depth review.

Old Pal is great for the price but some batches vary, see update below

    old pal cart
Basic packaging, but Old Pal packs a punch.

Update 12/15/2020: Due to many comments on YouTube and our site about varying Old Pal experiences we feel the need to post this message. Our experiences with Old Pal have been great but people have commented that at times the products have been awful. The amount of comments on this matter makes us think that there might be grounds to it, and thus we post this warning that experiences with Old Pal seem to vary greatly by batch in both California and Nevada.

Old Pal is not the absolute strongest brand of carts nor is it the absolute best tasting, but it deserves a spot on this list. Overall, it’s well above average in all categories and is well-balanced.

One of our reviewers said the psychedelic effects from Old Pal were the best and better than other cartridges that may even pack more initial strength. Plus they go for only $25 for 500mg at most dispensaries in Nevada. They go for even less in California and they made our best list there, which is linked at the bottom of this post.

For more info on Old Pal carts, see the full review.

Roots Extracts: Strongest effect, great taste, overall the best THC vape cartridges in Nevada

Roots overall have been the consistently best brand in Nevada since I first tried them. Out of all the strains they have, Cheese has been my favorite. Roots are owned by Taproot Holdings and operate out of North Las Vegas. I first tried their carts after picking them up at The Dispensary in Reno and regularly pick them up at Essence Tropicana West when they are not sold out. They use authentic CCELL cartridges for hardware. White ceramic tops to be exact.

They really are doing something right over there at Roots. Roots is not a cultivator and focus just on making oil, which might be the reason they are so good, the operation is focused on just producing great oil. Roots do not even make distillate syringes (but am hoping to see these in the future).

New whole plant hash oil product for Roots recently released

Check out our review on Roots broad spectrum disposables. They use ethanol extraction but it is a whole plant oil and gives an effect more like smoking a joint. The THC levels are above 80% and it delivers a great and unique effect. These new disposables are another reason Roots is currently the best bet for vaping THC in the Silver State.

See our full Roots cartridges review for more info. We’re working on the review of their new full-plant hash oil disposables and should have that up soon.

Roots Sauce carts: Our first perfect 10!

    roots sauce cart box

Long-time readers of DabConnection know that we don’t hand out perfect ratings very easily around here. Since we are committed to unpaid, uncompromised reviews, our focus is the point of view of the end consumer.

Well, we finally found one! Roots 100% Pure Sauce + THC-A Sugar cartridge gets the honor of being our first perfect 10 ratings. Perfect taste, perfect effects, perfect hardware, nothing to improve. It is Nirvana in a vape cartridge. See the full Roots Sauce review here.

Standard Oil Co. – Excellent All-Around

    standard oil co cart

After following a deal tip-off from DankOil, we headed for Oasis Dispensary in Las Vegas, Nevada, to score a Lemon Slushie cartridge courtesy of Standard Oil Co. We found a cartridge with all-glass hardware and a ceramic core for top efficiency, with strong oil inside. We loved the taste of real cannabis terpenes, so much so that Stand Oil concentrate beats out some live resin we’ve tried. All in all, it was a knock-out cart. Our only complaint is that these aren’t available in more places. Check out our full Standard Oil Co. review here.

Vapen Cart: Awesome Strength and Taste

    vapen-box-cart

This is the cart that taught us a valuable lesson: Carts that use natural cannabis terpenes hit smoother than carts that use non-cannabis terpenes. Vapen’s Daytime Sativa is an excellent quality cart and strong, with smooth hits and consistent oil throughout. The effects are strong and long-lasting. Our only beef is that these carts have a polycarbonate body instead of more efficient glass. Leaving that aside, Vapen makes the list based on its strong and consistent oil. View our whole Vapen review here.

Honorable Mentions: Remedy, 8 Fold, AMA/Vader distillate syringes

These three deserve a mention because they are still great products and worth trying out whether you are visiting Las Vegas or are a local.

The remedy is almost there, but that hardware…

Remedy in our opinion currently makes the best flower in the world. Their cartridge is also good due to the high-quality live resin they put in it. The keyword is good and not great. The oil is great but the cartridge is good, and the reason this cartridge is not great is simply hardware.

Remedy is using a CCELL clone that just hits poorly compared to an authentic CCELL. When they change their hardware they will be one of the top vape cartridges. I actually dumped their oil into a real CCELL just to see how much better it would be and was amazed.

8 Fold is the best CO2 oil cartridge in Nevada

All of us at DabConnection prefer distillate and BHO in cartridges as opposed to CO2, but not everyone else does. 8 Fold and W Vapes are the only CO2 cartridges we really liked, and 8 Fold is overall the best CO2 cart we have tried in Nevada (and frankly in any state).

I picked these up at Deep Roots in Mesquite. The strength is stellar and taste is unmatched for CO2 oil. A real unique and refreshing taste for CO2. For those that prefer CO2 over distillate or BHO, 8 Fold is the way to go in Nevada. See our 8 Fold review for more information.

    AMA and Vader distillate syringes

AMA is short for Alternative Medicine Association. They focus on making extracts and they also produce Vader Extracts for Nevada. You’ll see a bigger variety of Vader products in California than in Nevada, but wherever you are and whatever it is, I’ll bet $5 on it that it’s awesome. The AMA and Vader branded distillate syringes paired with CCELL hardware will also get you some of the best possible THC cartridges in Nevada. It’s not an official vape cart until you make it, but it deserves a mention on this list.

    vader distillate
Filled up a CCELL with some Vader Coconutz distillate.

Syringe tip not included, but it should be. That’s our only recommendation to AMA. Including a syringe would be great for these syringes.

Tropical Punch and Green Apple are two of our favorite AMA distillates, and Coconutz is our favorite Vader distillate. Most of their products test in the mid-’80s for THC percentage. They also make the Game Time cartridge but it does not make this top list since the hardware has restricted airflow. We wish more brands would give us syringe options if they are going to go a little cheaper on their vape cartridge hardware.

Vape cartridges that disappointed us so far…

Not trying to be negative, but I don’t want our readers to be disappointed with non-performing brands. So here we are also listing the most non-effective THC vape cartridges in Nevada. There are a lot of other brands out there we have tried and the above list is the ones we recommend most. Many others are not that bad or are just lower strength and some people prefer that. However, some were bad enough, and given the awful hardware they use, most of our users looking for good strength would want to avoid them until they change.

Here are the brands of cartridges we would avoid purchasing in Nevada at this point in 2019: Kynd PureCannabiotix, and Brass Knuckles. Cannabiotix is surprising because the flower is excellent they produce. The carts just don’t live up to the quality of their flower.

    Cannabiotix has poor quality hardware

Kynd and Cannabiotix used to use very similar hardware. The only difference we found in our Cannabiotix review was variable airflow. The hardware hits off a wire and is worse than even a knock-off CCELL.

    cannabiotix cartrdige
These style cartridges never hit that great.

The Cannabiotix oil tastes ok, but it just does not have much strength. We could not tell if it was the hardware or the oil but the effects just are not there. Very unexpected to almost anyone who tries them, as Cannabiotix is considered one of the best flowers in Nevada and we would put them just a hair behind Remedy on flowers.

Brass Knuckles puts up billboards, still uses old hardware

Brass Knuckles use old hardware and just are not that strong. Nevada has a strength limitation on 1 gram cartridges, so automatically they will not get as strong as some other brands since they only have 1 gram offerings. The cartridges are also expensive, ranging from $85 to $120. Don’t get fooled by billboards and celebrity endorsements, this brand is a skip when you have so much better available in the Silver State.

Keep the best THC vape cartridges coming to Nevada

New brands and new THC vape cartridges are coming out all the time. Nevada has some of the best cannabis products in the world right now. Will Roots hold the top spot? Only time will tell, but at this point, they are a few steps ahead of the pack. We’d love to see Cannabiotix come out with better hardware and Kabunky recreate that one-of-a-kind Strawberry Lemonade. As new carts come out we will update this list and mention any particular special strains.

One last recommendation related to this list is the battery. Airo Pro uses its own, but for the other cartridges, our recommended battery is the Vessel. It’s a bit pricey but at this point in 2022 it delivers the best airflow. Our next best and more affordable picks would be the CCELL Silo and Palm. See our best batteries for THC cartridges picks for more info.

Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts: Which One Is a Better THC Cartridge?

    11
    dank vapes vs mario carts

With the new packaging out on both of these cartridges, popularity following skepticism has risen for both brands. Here, we do a compare Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts and clarify which one actually is better.

Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts: Which one is more credible?

Both of these companies don’t have the best background, having had pesticides issues and no assurance of their legitimacy. Also, because of how many fake cartridges are being distributed, there’s a lot of confusion and uncertainty smoking these. While Dank Vapes changed their overall packaging, Mario Carts updated the style of their cartridge.

If you are looking for something better than both, check out our top vape cartridge picks for California and Nevada. If you can get those brands, you are better off.

UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety. We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.

UPDATE 5/17/2020: It has become evident that at this point all Dank Vapes and Mario Carts are only packaging. Therefore this comparison is null and void.

    dank vapes packaging
With the new Dank Vape cartridges, each strain comes in a different color in the label.
    mario carts
Mario carts most have the brands name engraved inside the cartridge itself now.

Dank Vapes and Mario Carts both failed in tests, containing pesticides

Unfortunately, both of these brands have negative lab results, containing pesticides and false THC percentages. Whereas they claim to be 80-90% THC, their test show a to be 60-70%.

Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts lab results:

    dank vapes pesticide
Pesticide Test: Dank Vapes failed in this test , containing a low of 63% THC
    dank vape lab test results
Dank Vapes: Testing positive in at least 5 types of pesticides on this test.
    mario carts pesticide
Mario Carts: Showing negative results with 5 different pesticides as well.

Do they contain any additives or artificial flavors?

This frequently asked question goes along with both of these cartridges. Due to the lack of information, there is no 100% telling what exactly is infused with these distillates. As mentioned earlier, although Dank Vapes and Mario Carts tests don’t show additives, they do show the existence of pesticides.

When we tried the old Dank Vapes, the Fruity Pebbles strain did taste like it had harsh additives. Giving too strong of a taste and feeling harsh on the throat at times. The rest of them had a well balance and savory taste to them, but the oil is still unknown.

    dank vapes flavors
This is very unfortunate, for Dank Vapes has always tased great in our experience, but regardless it’s still not very safe.

Whereas Dank Vapes always has a unique taste, Mario Carts LA Confidental and Mac 1 gave a bland taste. Strawberry Pie did give more taste, but it vapes hot on the throat and the berry taste is too strong.

    mario carts flavors
The LA Confidental does give a slight better taste, but they both still taste neutral.

When it comes to taste, Dank Vapes delivers great and amazing flavors. The Mario Carts I tried really did have little to no taste to it, making it dissatisfying to smoke.

Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts: Which one provided more Strength and THC?

Claiming to be up to 90% THC, both companies have lower strength than they say to have. With Dank Vapes, they claim to be over 90% THC when their lab results show to be 60-65% THC. As with Mario Carts, they claim up to 87% THC and actually show 69% THC.

After reviewing both brands, they did give an equal high that would need a few hits to feel something. It’s a bit hard to tell, but personally I prefer Dank Vapes. Neither brand are as potent or give a strong high as I’d like. The Space Vape outperformed both. But smoking Dank Vapes is a lot more enjoyable with the flavors they have.

Efficiency on Mario Carts is slightly better

This all depends on preference, but personally I think that Dank Vapes smokes a lot quicker than Mario Carts. The reason for this is because of how much smoother and tastier Dank Vapes are. They give such a rich taste that makes me want to consistently vape this cartridge. Whereas Mario Carts aren’t nearly as tasty, or as pleasant to smoke.

Both of these brands use durable and well-built cartridges. Mario Carts use a rod & coil vaporizer with a ceramic atomizer, giving fairly smooth rips. Extended draws will produce large clouds on this cartridge.

Dank Vapes use authentic CCELL cartridges, a very popular cart used in many brands (Jetty Extracts, Select Oil, stick e vape and Roots, to name a few). This well known cartridge brand uses a ceramic atomizer, known for its consistency and taste. The only unfortunate thing about this is that there are many fake CCELL cartridges going around, being pre-filled with who knows what oil. Although they both give nice clouds, I would go through a Dank Vapes cartridge a lot quicker than a Mario Carts cartridge.

Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts in value

First off, the price between these two range around the same price, which is around $30-$40. Sometimes it may be a little more or less, depending where you’re from but on average it’s around there.

Second, neither of these companies are as reliable and trustworthy as they should be. Both of them failed for pesticides, have lower THC than they claim and have many fakes being sold. There’s tremendous uncertainty on both companies and no one knows if they’re even legit in the first place.

From our research, we’d have to say that the more credible and known company would be Dank Vapes. Like I said earlier, none of these two companies are as dependable or safe. We do know that Dank Vapes appears to be made by Dankwoods, another company that does not seem to have any valid registration we can find. The reason we believe this is just because Dank’s are a lot more active on their Instagram account.

Mario Carts have no background or anything official to back them up. Based on information we have received, it does appear original Mario Carts hardware is made by Greenlight Vapes, who also makes Dabado Vaporizer’s products.

There are many fakes in the black market with both cartridges

This major problem is hurting both brands. Even though Dank Vapes updated their packaging for this reason, counterfeits replicated these new packaging in in less than a month. Fake Dank Vapes are being sold everywhere now, filled with artificial flavors. This same misfortune goes with Mario Carts, they may have changed their look but that hasn’t stopped the counterfeit market.

The only difference is that Dank Vapes are actually calling out fake sellers through their Instagram page. Whereas Mario Carts don’t have anything official in the first place.

What about Dank Vapes vs other cartridges?

If you have a suggestion for a vs article, by all means, tell us in the comments or on our Forum. We will be adding more versus posts as time goes by.

There’s a wide variety of different cartridges that are a lot more safer and cleaner to smoke. Cartridges, for instance Select Oil, Space Vape and more that give potent hits and an amazing high. It’s not that neither carts don’t give a nice high. It’s just that there is no telling what exactly you’re consuming or what’s even in their distillate.

The final conclusion for Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts

Above all, we have to say that Dank Vapes are more enjoyable to smoke than Mario Carts are. Disregarding both of their negative histories, Dank’s do give a more satisfying taste and high. If both companies fix all of these set backs, Dank Vapes would still be the winner between the two.

Coastal Cartridges Review : Low Quality Cartridge Or High Quality Vape?

    coastal cartridges review

Coastal Cartridges are a mysterious brand, for there isn’t any information to be found about their company. With that being said, these cartridges were revealed to be very weak and and untrustworthy. From the taste of it to the oil, these low quality carts give a light and mild high. Apart from all of this, we can’t prove the companies legitimacy, making it unsure about what we’re actually smoking. Not living up to its expectations, I personally wouldn’t purchase these cartridges again at all.

    Pros:

    • Decent taste

    Cons:

    • Weak oil quality
    • Takes several hits to actually feel high
    • Some hits are harsh
    • Overall untrustworthy

Recommendations: Make stronger oil. If these carts are actually legit, provide some sort of information about company bio.

Coastal Cartridges have no background or credibility

    coastal cartridge pacaging
Examining the packaging, they seem to be supposedly made in California.

To begin with, I did a lot of research and found nothing online about these cartridges. They might be fake cartridges from the outset. Let alone not having lab test results out, I wasn’t able to find any sort of data on social media. There wasn’t even anything to be found on Reddit. With no proof of the company, this cartridge is susceptible to contain pesticides or any other harsh chemicals in them.

These are full gram cartridges and claim to be 100% natural and over 90% THC, but I doubt how accurate that really is. Also, there’s no telling wether it’s an Indica, Sativa or a Hybrid, for there’s no checks on the label. I did try to scan the bar code to my phone, but obviously nothing showed up.

Watch our video review below and keep reading on for the more in depth review.

On the below picture Coastal claims these are 100% natural on one and that it’s premium wax concentrate on the other. Reviewing these carts proved both those claims are questionable.

Not living to its expectation, Coastal Cartridges didn’t feel as close as to what they claim to be, in regards to THC percent.

These cartridges give a mild and discouraging high, only after a lot of hits

My first impression to these carts was a disappointment. Because of how weak they are, numerous hits had to be taken to even feel a buzz. At first, I started to believe that this won’t get me high at all. But I did get surprised with a mixture of a body and mind high, only after 10 hits. Additionally, the high would give me a headache at times, killing the feeling.

Comparing the two, Retro OG and Maui Wowie felt the exact same from one another

    coastal cartridge flavors
Both of these flavors are very identical from each other, it’s as if they’re both the exact same distillate.

There really isn’t much difference between the two of these cartridges. Even with the terpenes tasting alike, the only difference to be found is one tastes like it has more terpenes. This cartridge honestly felt as if it were vape juice that gets you high due to the high fruity taste. These two carts gave the same, light high and light taste. I should mention that although the hits are smooth at times, they would randomly be harsh on the throat.

Coastal cartridges have a low quality, thin distillate

    coastal cartridges oil quality
Analyzing the oil, it seems nice and gold at first, but taking a closer look it has clear, somewhat cloudy light color.

Something negative about these carts are how thin and cloudy the oil is. When I flipped it upside down, the oil would move very quickly and also burns fast. Differing from the Space Vape cartridges, this thin oil isn’t as satisfying or strong what so ever. Also, when I opened the mouth piece, I accidentally felt the oil and it felt very translucent , not sticky at all.

Although the quality is not great, it still surprisingly gets you high out of no where. Because of how light and smooth it feels, you don’t feel anything at the moment when inhaling it. As you keep taking multiple hits from it, you will feel the mellow high hit randomly all at once. Yet, as mentioned earlier, the carts will randomly give harsh and unsatisfying hits. This makes me wonder how pure and reliable the oil really is, unsure whether there’s any sort of pesticides.

They do use a smooth cart with decent air flow

The only good feature about these Coastal Carts are the cartridge hardware itself. They do give fairly thick smoke and the cartridge is well made. The hits aren’t as smooth as they can be, but overall it still hits clean. The comfort to in on the mouth piece was nice as well. Another thing is that they are reusable. I noticed later on that they have a twist on mouth piece.

Coastal Cartridges give a slight fruity taste, yet nothing like concentrate

Something that bothered me a lot was how exact both cartridges tasted like. As mentioned earlier, they both are identical and give a light fruit flavor, almost like a berry taste. In contrast of tasting anything like concentrate should, it tasted almost like vape juice.

The distillate burned very quickly, lasting only a few days

Another unfortunate thing about these cartridges is how fast they go through. Because of how thin the oil is, it would burn like easily. It’s not even that it isn’t efficient, but because it gives a light high I would consistently smoke this cartridge. For me, I finished almost half of the cart in one day and the whole cartridge in 3 days.

Above all, Coastal Cartridges are not trustworthy or reliable

    coastal cartridges review
Overall, there are very little positive qualities about these Coastal Cartridges and I wouldn’t advise or recommend them.

Because of the lack of information out there on these cartridges, we really aren’t sure what’s in this distillate. Along with that, the oil is so weak that I wouldn’t find any enjoyment in smoking these.

To conclude, Coastal cartridges are of low quality and give an unpleasant high. Dissatisfied with the distillate, there really aren’t much good qualities about it other than the hardware itself. I personally wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, not even people looking for something light to smoking. For ones safety, you should be purchasing your distillate from licensed dispensaries or at least from well-known companies.

Heavy Hitters Cartridge Breakdown: Inside The Vape Cart

    heavy hitters cartridge breakdown

We broke down a Heavy Hitters vape cartridge as part of our updated Heavy Hitters review. Inside we found a coiled atomizer. It took a pair of pliers to get the mouthpiece off, so we would categorize this one as not refillable.

If you are looking at what makes up a higher quality cart, check out our best and worst vape cartridge design pics. What do you think of the inside? Some people might prefer ceramic, but the coiled atomizer does give a harder hit. Comment below or discuss in our forum!
