So, here’s the scoop on this vape – it’s a bit of a splurge, I won’t lie. Clocking in at $31, plus those pesky California taxes that hit harder than a wave in Long Beach, it ain’t exactly cheap. But hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself, right?
Now, onto the good stuff. This vape? It’s the bomb dot com. Seriously, I was smitten. My only wish? That it came in a bigger size, ’cause let’s be real, 0.33ml just ain’t gonna cut it for us hardcore enthusiasts.
This blend consists of a classic super sativa: Green Crack, infused with a 3:1 ratio of energizing THCV.
Hardware is top notch
But let’s talk hardware – it’s legit top-tier. Pair it with an energy drink and you’re cruising on cloud nine, my friend.
Remember back in the day when every Tom, Dick, and Harry was slinging fake Heavy Hitters carts? Yeah, those were dark times. But fear not, ’cause this here is the real deal – premium stuff through and through.
Now, onto a little comparison. I’ve gotta say, LA carts just don’t hit the same as the ones you find in Las Vegas. Except for a select few, and you better believe Heavy Hitters is on that shortlist.
So there you have it – if you’re in the market for a vape that’s gonna knock your socks off, Heavy Hitters is where it’s at. Just be prepared to shell out a few extra bucks for the privilege.
You can find out more about the Heavy Hitters products here.

Here I review the newHeavy Hitters Live Resin carts that are different from the 483 Live Resin carts that they come out with that are half distillate and half resin. Currently these live resin carts are only available in half grams.
The reason Heavy Hitters only have half grams for their live resin cartridges is that the experience for 100% fresh unrefined Live Resin is that it is best at the half gram size cartridges, per their advice. Half gram carts generally have better airflow than full grams.
Pros:
Updated CCELL hardware
Better oil quality and taste
Strain-specific
Better, stronger effects
One of the best live resin choices
Cons:
Oil burns a little fast
Recommendations: The oil in both live resin cartridges burns a little too fast with my batteries. The oil could be a bit thicker resulting in more hits and an overall better value.
Licensing Information: Mammoth Distribution, California License #C11-0000107-LIC
Initial Thoughts on the Heavy Hitters Live Resin cart strains I tried
I picked up two different strains: Lemon Gelato, which is a cross betweenSunset Sherbet,Girl Scout Cookies, andLemon Kush. As far I can tell it’s anIndica hybrid but it’s not something that will keep you sedated. THC is 70.4% and the CBD is 0.12% and the total cannabinoids is 73.56%.
The other strain I am using in this review Blueberry Muffin is a cross between Blueberry andPurple Panty Dropper which is a three way cross between Purple Haze, Oregon Grape and Matanuskan Mist. It is an Indica hybrid that’s 68.15% THC and the total cannabinoids is 74.51%. It’s a really relaxing strain, perfect for nighttime but I preferred the taste of Lemon Gelato a little more. The strain was earthy and sweet like fresh blueberries and earth but had darker oil than Lemon Gelato.
Build Quality And Design Is An Improvement
A closer look at the cartridge will show a Heavy Hitters logo at the front and the Live logo at the back. The mouthpiece remains the same as their other lines of cartridges. It also works with most batteries as well as it worked with the Ooze, the CCELL Silo and a stick battery.
Oil Quality is better than Raw Garden and Bloom Brand, although not as good as Wox/Ursa and Rove Featured Farms
The oil of the Lemon Gelato cartridge looks really clear almost like aBloom live resin cartridge or older version Raw Garden cartridge, but the blueberry muffin strain is a bit darker and closer to Wox Diamond Sauce cartridges and Rove Featured Farms. But I have found that the oil in both live resin cartridges burns a little too fast, so it’s more advisable to use a low-temp battery or mod.
Stronger than Raw Garden, Similar Strength To Bloom Brand, Bear Labs and Lemonnade
The effects felt potent and relieved a lot of my nerve pain. After using it I feel really relaxed but not sedated at all. It’s closer to Bloom Brand, Bear Labs and the Lemonnade carts from Cookies Enterprises in terms of potency. It is however not as quite on the level of Ursa and Wox, which shares the same extraction company. The taste itself is really floral and very sweet. It has a more floral and earthy taste than Raw Garden.
Tastes better than Rove Cured Resin, Stiiizy Live Resin and Bear Labs Live Resin
This tastes better than the cured resin line of Rove Featured Farms, but not on the same level as Rove Featured Farms live resin carts. Personally, I think Heavy Hitters wax is better than Stiiizy live resin in most of the categories and it is also better than Bear Labs live resin carts in terms of flavor.
Improved CCELL hardware and airflow
Heavy Hitters has definitely improved its hardware and airflow. The half-gram live resin cartridges rarely clogged for me at all. The airflow has definitely improved and they switched to CCELL hardware.
Better hardware than the Bloom Brand, Bear Labs and Friendly Farms
The hardware is better than the The Bloom Brand and Bear Labs, both of which do not come with the mouthpiece cover, but the hardware is not as efficient as Wox/Ursa and Rove. It’s close to what is used on the Lemonade carts from Cookies, but it was better than Friendly Farms and Bear Labs, both of which had hardware issues with airflow.
Heavy Hitters Live Resin vs Distillate – Live Resin wins, no question
I recently picked up their distillate cart as well. The distillate from Heavy Hitters still needs a lot of work. Kurvana and Plug Play are miles ahead right now.
Currently, Heavy Hitters Live Resin is substantially better than their distillate options. While the distillate is currently a pass on something I would buy in the near future, I would pick up their live resin again.
Heavy Hitters’ new live resin is some of the most potent in California
I have been using the Live Resin products from Heavy Hitters for a couple of days now and really liked them. I think that by the end of this year they might climb to the TOP 5 if they keep coming out with excellent products like this. If you have a higher tolerance, the live resin wax concentrate from Heavy Hitters is for you.
Heavy Hitters Live Resin vs Distillate – Live Resin much better as of September 2020
Currently, the only insufficient product was the taste and oil quality of their distillate cartridges, but their live resin line, which consists of their newly released concentrate and the half gram live resin cartridges, is among the best live resin products I have tried.
However, Heavy Hitters 483 Live Resin is half distillate, half live resin
The only product that I wasn’t able to trial for this review is from the 483 live resin line of cartridges, which may be reviewed and updated at a later time. They are half and half, not full live resin.
Heavy Hitters Live Resin carts can be expensive, but they are worth the price
In addition, I purchased these Heavy Hitters live resin products at Kush Alley and Sweet Flower in the Los Angeles area, but the distillate is available on most delivery services in LA, including Eaze and Grassdoor. The prices for the live resin wax and cartridges can be a bit steep at around $50 before tax, but it’s most affordable in the LA area and other Southern California dispensaries for first-time patients as are the distillate cartridges.
Video review for Heavy Hitters Live Resin
Editor’s note: It’s a 2-for-1 special here at DabConnection as our own Bert Blaze also reviews Heavy Hitters Live Resin cartridge for a second opinion. Here he is to walk you through it:
Concluding our Heavy Hitters Live Resin review…
Overall, Heavy Hitters has come out with a much better cart than any of their previous generation carts. The hardware is good, the oil is strong and the taste is excellent. It’s definitely a cart I will be trying again in the future.
You can find out more information on the Heavy Hitters on their website here.

We broke down a Heavy Hitters vape cartridge as part of our updated Heavy Hitters review. Inside we found a coiled atomizer. It took a pair of pliers to get the mouthpiece off, so we would categorize this one as not refillable.
If you are looking at what makes up a higher quality cart, check out our best and worst vape cartridge design pics. What do you think of the inside? Some people might prefer ceramic, but the coiled atomizer does give a harder hit. Comment below or discuss in our forum!
Fake Heavy Hitters cartridges are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country sell them all the time and they buy them directly from China. The problem with fake Heavy Hitters is they are harder to identify than fake Brass Knuckles.
Update 10/8/2018: Real Heavy Hitters tests dirty again. See vape pen pesticides, strength, and residual solvents test page.
Update 02/09/2019: Companies producing fake Heavy Hitters.
A Heavy Hitters cartridge is considered a fake when it contains oil that was not made by the actual company, Heavy Hitters. In China, companies make cartridges with Heavy Hitters branding, logos, and packaging. We are not sure if the real company is able to pursue any of the Chinese makers legally, because there might not be a trademark since technically Heavy Hitters is a federally illegal product.
The problem with Heavy Hitters is even real ones have had pesticide issues. Supposedly now it is clean, but see our vape pen pesticides, strength, and residual solvents test page.
The problem with spotting fake Heavy Hitters is they look the same as the real ones.
With fake Brass Knuckles carts we can tell by a myriad of errors in design. Fake Heavy Hitters vape cartridges look the same. See our fake cartridges post for information on other counterfeited brands.
The great thing that Heavy Hitters does (that Brass Knuckles does not) is provide a list of authorized retailers. Buying from an authorized retailers is the only way to guarantee it is an authentic cartridge.
As long as some states have legal marijuana dispensaries and others do not, fake Heavy Hitters cartridges are here to stay. The most common place to find these fake vape carts is in illegal states.
Here are the product specs for Heavy Hitters cartridges:
1.0ML
0.9mm inlet X 2
glass tube
Circular mouth
Glass screen printing LOGO
Medium tube laser LOG
The hanger hole is way off centered on some fakes and that can be a giveaway, but many are right on point. Below is a picture of a fake. Can you tell the difference?
Here are the companies in China making fake Heavy Hitters cartridges
For ones that had a picture I am including a picture so you can identify fakes better. The picture of each company’s fake will be below their information. Please add any data you may have in the comments section or discuss fake brass knuckles here on our forum. This page will be updated as new fakes are found.

Heavy Hitters and Alpine Vapor are two of the most popular THC oil cartridge brands out today. We already have in depth reviews of Heavy Hitters and Alpine Vapor cartridges individually. Here these prefill vape carts go head to head.
Heavy Hitters vs Alpine Vapor – HH Takes The Win
Heavy Hitters vape cartridge overall score: 9.3
Alpine Vapor vape cartridge overall score: 5.7
Heavy Hitters Is For Hard Hits, Some Might Want Alpine Vapor
Most of our readers are looking for the strongest hit without pesticides. Heavy Hitters takes the cake and beats Alpine Vapor in every other category. Users looking for something not as strong still might want to go with Alpine. However, they use old technology on the carts. For maximum strength see what we named the strongest THC oil cartridge of 2018.

Brass Knuckles vs Heavy Hitters – Which is the best vape cartridge?
Reviewing Heavy hitters vs Brass knuckles cartridges was a true pleasure. Heavy Hitters and Brass knuckles are two companies that make some of the best pre-filled cartridges. We decided to put these two popular THC cartridges against each other. I’ve tried out more than a handful of different strains from brass knuckles and a couple of Heavy Hitters. I learned while vaping these two great products that each one had its strength and weaknesses. Continue reading to learn which cartridge is stronger and last longer.

Heavy Hitters vs Brass Knuckles Vape Flavor: Both Cartridges Taste Great
Brass Knuckles tastes great and I was astonished how great it was when I first tried it.. I felt the same way about Heavy hitters, when I tried their OG Kush for the first time it was an outstanding experience. After trying Bubba Kush from Heavy Hitters I had mix reactions to this pre-filled vape cartridge. I really enjoyed the OG Kush a lot, it reminded me of LA Kush from Brass knuckles. The bubba cartridge had a bitter taste to it. My friend didn’t like the taste of the Bubba heavy hitters cartridge too. However, his sister said she didn’t think it was bitter. She suggested her brother and I like sweet cartridges, which is true but we prefer the taste of flower too.
I tried most of the Brass knuckles cartridges as I vaped them loyally for a year, I found myself loving some while hating others. Heavy Hitters only recently made its way to the bay area from SoCal. These cartridges definitely remind me of Brass knuckles and are comparable to them. I really liked The Heavy hitters OG KUSH because it reminded of the actual taste of the flower. I really didn’t like their Bubba strain at all because it tasted bitter. Both brands rank among my top three favorite tasting cartridges with lucky vape cartridges being my third.
I’ve had carts that tasted bad from both of these companies. I had to actually return a couple of Brass knuckles cartridges because they tasted burnt. I bought the blue dream strain from Brass knuckles three different times. The first two times I purchased it there were no problems. There are counterfeits being reported going around for Brass knuckles so be careful who you purchase it from. The first two times I purchased blue dream cartridge came from a delivery service in Modesto. The blue strain brass knuckles cartridges were great! Its when I purchased the blue strain cartridge in Oakland from a dispensary named fancy dabz when I had a bad experience. The hash oil didn’t look right and actually looked darker than usual. I was able to return this cartridge for another strain that didn’t taste bitter.
THC Vape Oil Strength: Brass knuckles is a bit Stronger
Unfortunately, I could not locate any test results identifying the percent of THC in Heavy hitters Cartridges. Brass knuckles have their lab results available online via sclabs.com. I’ve been a loyal customer of Brass knuckles now for the last year. Unfortunately, their lab results posted online reveal they are inconsistent with their THC strength on some strains. There’s definitely a noticeable difference in strength when you vape. You can see on SClabs some strains amount of THC fluctuate.
The lesson here is to check the lab results for any strain you intend on buying before you make your purchase. A lot of people were saying brass knuckles started to cut their products with more fillers and perhaps this news started to do harm to their business. It’s great to see Brass knuckles cartridges testing very high again for THC. During the time it was getting low 70% THC scores is when I started looking for alternatives. I felt lucky when I was able to get strong Brass knuckle carts and missed the strength when I got a weaker cartridge from them.
So far I have not tried any other cartridge with more strength than brass knuckles. I recently vaped a Forbidden fruit strain that tested at 87% THC from brass knuckles, the strength was stronger than any other cartridge I experienced. Heavy Hitters is strong but isn’t as strong as Brass knuckle cartridges testing near ninety percent.
Value Goes to Heavy Hitters 2.2g cartridge
A Heavy hitters 2.2g cartridge cost me $110.00 with tax included, that’s 1.1 grams at $55.00. The cheapest one gram Brass knuckles cart I could find in the bay area was for $55.00. You’re getting more for your money with Heavy hitters because those extra free .2 grams do make difference. It’s great to be able to save by buying more.
Efficiency: Best Vape Cartridge Design goes to Brass Knuckles
Something as simple as unscrewing your THC oil cartridge shouldn’t be problematic. I’ve tried over a dozen different pre filled vape cartridge brands and these two rank among the top 5. A THC oil cartridge must be efficient at not wasting any extract. Brass knuckles and Heavy hitters have created a cartridge that does not waste any co2 oil. No product is perfect and that holds true with Brass knuckles, I had to return a few cartridges that malfunctioned. I was glad that I was able to exchange them without any problems. Heavy Hitters and Brass knuckles both provide huge clouds.
Ingredients: Pesticides found in both cartridges
Unforunately, lab results revealed pesticides in carts from both of these companies. Multiple sources online reported buying both Heavy Hitter and Brass knuckles cartridges, they then sent them to be tested for pesticides where they both failed. It’s important to understand in California they’re no regulations to prevent marijuana-related products from being sold with pesticides. Currently, in states like Nevada and Colorado, they’re stricter regulations in place to protect the public from harmful cannabis products.
Number of hits: Heavy Hitters provides more hits for less money
Heavy Hitters were designed to last long and that it does. The Heavy Hitters 2.2 cartridge provided me with more hits I could count. The largest capacity for Brass knuckles is only 1 gram, this cartridge will last me for three days with heavy usage. The Heavy hitters larger cartridge will last me a whole week or a two-day rave sharing it with 5 others.
Vape cartridge brands better than both Heavy Hitters and Brass Knuckles
Both of these brands are not that great. Since we originally did this post, we have found many THC carts to be better than both of these brands. Heavy Hitters is only in CA (legally), so we will list some CA brands that are better:
If you happen to be in Nevada, you should also check out cartridges by Roots and Kabunky. They are NV only brands, but both better than Brass Knuckles, which is available in NV. See our best carts of CA and best carts of NV lists for more choices that beat BK and HH.
Heavy Hitters vs Brass Knuckles cartridges Final Results: Its a draw!
Brass knuckles vape cartridges are top tier carts (besides the pesticides, but they claim they have fixed this). They are strong but worth the cost. Heavy hitters offer a more economical vape pen hash oil cartridge. These two companies definitely offer some of the best vape cartridges on the market. Heavy Hitters has introduced an innovation that others are sure to mimic. There were flaws on both cartridges, as none of them are perfect. These are some of the best but they are not the best available. Cannabis oil cartridges will continue to improve as more people accept vaping as an alternative to smoking. The most powerful THC cartridge right now is Stiiizy. I created a table below of the Heavy Hitters vs Brass Knuckles cartridge points. The score ended in a tie with none being better than the other. I recommend trying both of them to determine which one you prefer. Comment below if you have tried these both and let us know which you prefer.
The Heavy Hitters Vape is a product others are sure to copy
The Heavy Hitters vape cartridge revealed an outstanding wax cartridge in almost every aspect, especially size at 2.2 grams. I took it to the test driving 6 hours to Los Angeles from the Bay Area with three other friends. We had all hit it during the drive and barely made a dent. My friends and I meet up with two other friends in LA for a Halloween Rave. I was astonished at how many hits I was able to get from this cart, it felt like it was never going to come to an end. Everyone who saw this cartridge for the first time had a wow reaction and couldn’t believe the size of this cartridge. I will go in depth on the cartridge and its makeup in this Heavy Hitters vape review.
Update 01/22/2019 – Geoff: After a recent trip down to MedMen San Diego and a full gram testing of Heavy Hitters Malibu OG, I have some differences in feedback from the original post. Overall, I do find Heavy Hitters to be one of my favorite cartridges. The puff count, however, doesn’t last as long as I would hope. No doubt the difference between a 2.2 and 1 gram cartridge plays a part. Oil flows smoothly to a coil heating element and if you take strong hits, it’ll vape up fast. I don’t mark it down that much for this because it gives huge hits. Another update since this review was first done is fakes are everywhere now. Check out our in depth post on fake Heavy Hitters for information on how to spot fake and real carts.

Design and Quality – Performance is great but the Heavy Hitters Vape Cartridge build isn’t perfect
You can accomplish some huge vape clouds from this cart. I have no major complaints using the Heavy Hitters vape during my review. At first, this cartridge was flawless. However, towards the end is when I experienced its flaws. I was trying to unscrew it from my vape battery when the glass started to spin instead of the cart from the battery.
Only after removing the mouthpiece I was able to remove the cartridge from the vape battery, I guess it had released pressure that allowed me to unscrew the cart from the battery. Also, I did drop this cart a couple of times and the glass finally decided to crack. Fortunately, the cartridge was emptied when the glass did crack.
Geoff: With the 1 gram cartridge, the only issue I see is due to the design. Many cart manufacturers use the same style with the wide element housing at the bottom. They have small holes which allow the oil to seep through to the coil. As you near the end of the cartridge, however, a good hit or two gets trapped. It sticks between the glass and the element housing where there are no reception holes. Other than that, the 1 gram cartridge is durable. The tube is glass so it can break, but it would have to be a hard blow.
Heavy Hitters cartridge breakdown shows a ceramic rod & coil without any glue
After testing the Malibu OG cartridge, I was able to tear the thing apart to see exactly how it works. Below is a video of the breakdown of the cartridge.
Starting from the top, the cart has a round metal mouthpiece that isn’t easily removable. I would not call the Heavy Hitters cartridges refillable. The tube is glass as you can see from the earlier pics as well as the one right here.
The inside air tube is metal as is the housing that covers the coil at the base. The base uses the small filter holes which I’m not a big fan of. There’s always some oil at the end that can’t seep through. A rubber seal holds the inside tube and the coil housing together. When pulled apart it shows the coil and rod sitting in a small rubber cup.
Wires feed off the rod and coil at either end and touch down inside the activation plate. No glue is present in the cartridge that I can find. This is the same style of heating element that shows in the Mario Cart review. It is safe and sound, produces big hits, but can vape the oil up fast.
Strength – Heavy Hitters 2.2 Cartridge Reveals Strongest vape cartridge in 2017 so far
Heavy Hitters provides very potent cannabis extract in their cartridges. I am always looking for a wax cartridge that can give me an experience closest to a dab. Heavy Hitters is the only cartridge that has gotten me close to that dab experience. Some vape carts are weaker than smoking regular bud. One huge hit from this vape cartridge will have you feeling an instant head change and might have you coughing. I only needed one to two big puffs to need enough to reach my peak. Plus you got 2.2g to go of wax in there.
Geoff: I must agree with the assessment that Heavy Hitters uses strong, quality concentrate. In the original review, it’s the OG Kush and we don’t have any percentages. Unfortunately, the Heavy Hitters website doesn’t provide this information either. The bummer is that we would have been able to compare strains. On the package of Heavy Hitters Malibu OG, it states a THC level of 83.41% and zero cannabinoids.
Heavy Hitters is one of the strongest vape cartridges, in my opinion. There are certainly cartridges out there that deliver a stronger effect than the Malibu OG. A good example would be the Brass Knuckles Jack Herer. That Jack will knock you on your back.
Taste – Very delightful natural flavor of the flower
The taste of this is honestly the most natural and closest to flower that I’ve experienced with a wax cartridge. The ceramic disc that heats up the high-quality cannabis oil definitely plays a huge factor for such a great taste! Heavy Hitters vape cartridges taste the best among any other carts I’ve tried. I would rate it higher than Brass Knuckles and Americanna. The first cartridge was so great I decided to buy another one right after getting back from the Rave. I was able to try the Bubba strain too for this cart, but the taste on the Bubba was disappointing.
Geoff: I’m pretty sure I’m a virgin when it comes to puffing the Malibu OG flower. Obviously, I can’t report on accuracy to strain from any kind of personal experience. When puffing the cartridge, I can taste a very fruity flavor and some research reveals its source. Malibu OG has hints of hibiscus which come through loud and clear in the Heavy Hitter’s cartridge. I’m not a huge fan of flavored concentrates or even super fruity herb strains. If you are. you’ll probably love the Malibu.
Value – Great price for such a high-quality product considering the size
The Heavy Hitters 2.2 vape cartridge cost me $110.00 with tax from a cannabis club in Hayward California called Kaliflowers. It’s important to note that this product originates from Southern California and has only barely reached the Bay Area this year. Its definitely great for events such as festivals, raves, or family gatherings. It can also be very cost effective if you split the cost with a friend during an event. Let’s break down the price of this cart. This cartridge Basically cost $55.00 for 1.2 grams and $22.50 for a little more than half a gram. You’re going to save money with Heavy Hitters without sacrificing any quality. Comparing it to the Lucky Vapes cartridges at $30 a half gram, Heavy Hitters vape cartridges are a deal. They allow those who want to buy their wax cartridges in a bigger capacity the ability to do so and save.
Geoff: There are some savings if you buy the 2.2-gram cartridge instead of the 1-gram cart. At MedMen, the Malibu OG 1g cart goes for $60.00 plus taxes. My best advice when buying the name brand carts is to look for deals in quantity. Many dispensaries I visit feature decent savings when you get 2 or more of the same brand. Honestly, $60.00 for a gram cart isn’t cheap. It’s the going rate, but it gets expensive with taxes when you go to a legitimate place like MedMen.
Efficiency – Huge puffs from start to finish until all the oil is gone
Each hit taken from the Heavy Hitters 2.2 gram cartridge is flavorful and potent. I was able to enjoy this with 5 other friends of mine frequently taking huge hits from this cartridge all weekend during a rave. I shared this dab pen with many other people at the rave. They were shocked to see how big this cartridge was. During this whole time, the cartridge never leaked even though it was hot during the day in the nineties.
Geoff: For myself, efficiency is kind of a balance between how well the cartridge vapes and how long it lasts. When a cartridge hits really hard, that is it gives out huge clouds of vapor, it makes sense that it goes down quick. This is the case with the Heavy Hitters carts. Take it easy on how hard you vape them because you’ll still get a good hit. It’s a smart way to make your cart last a little longer. Heavy Hitters Malibu OG is potent enough that smaller hits will still deliver strong effects.
Ingredients – Solventless cannabis extract
We must be thankful for those who go out of their way to help spread awareness of unhealthy cannabis-related products. An article was recently released online that reveals how bad quality control for prefilled vape cartridges is in California. Numerous cannabis flowers and prefilled vape cartridges were purchased randomly by the writers of the article and tested by Steep hill labs in Berkely California.
Heavy hitters are included failing a lab test with Steep Hill Labs. Heavy Hitters claims they care about the highest level of quality possible, they test their products by three different companies. Currently, there aren’t any tough regulations in California as there is in Nevada and Colorado. They’re vape cartridge companies that conduct lab test with those that have lower testing standards than other companies.
Until they’re regulations in place, vape companies can pick and choose who they test their products with that do not test efficiently. Heavy Hitters have their cannabis extract tested by SC Labs, Steep Hills, and CW Analytica. Its quite comforting seeing a vape cartridge company taking extra precautions with their products, however, let’s not forget these vape cartridge companies can also pick the products they want to be tested. It’s much more effective when somebody randomly comes into a dispensary and buys products randomly for the best lab results. After Brass Knuckles cartridges came back with questionable testing, this is especially true.
Malibu OG Batch Tested By CannaSafe
One of the reasons we are getting our cartridges from legitimately licensed dispensaries is the quality of the oil. We want high quality but that also means pure from pesticides or other additives. I can’t argue with the questionability of a Heavy Hitters dirty pesticide test. I can, however, say that the Malibu OG cart from MedMen has a test date and batch number from CannaSafe. The package also comes with a seal, proving its no tamper integrity.
Number of hits – Outstanding amount of hits
Never have I experienced so many hits from one wax cartridge. I took so many hits I lost count, but I can assure you it was more than a few hundred hits. Being able to share this with 5 other friends for a whole weekend and still have some left over is an accomplishment for this vape cart. There is no other cartridge that can come close to how many puffs we got.
Overall feelings and thoughts about this wax cartridge are very positive. During this review, I discovered my new favorite vape cartridge in 2017. This is by far the best dab cartridge money can buy. A friend of mine who only likes to smoke on actual herb is now buying this cartridge after trying it. It’s more smooth than smoking actual cannabis and also much stronger.
Geoff: This is the main point I disagree on, though I”m not expressing disappointment. It may be tougher to tell how long a 2.2-gram cartridge lasts in comparison to a 1-gram cart. Perhaps the 2.2-gram carts have a different coil, though it doesn’t sound like it. I’ve had cartridges whose oil vapes slower and still gives big clouds. Not quite as large as Heavy Hitters, which is why I’m not marking it down. But to say the oil lasts as long as other carts, I don’t believe is correct.
Brands we would recommend over Heavy Hitters
Since this was originally posted, we have reviewed a lot more cartridges. Here are some of the brands we would recommend as better than Heavy Hitters, that are also available in California: Airo Pro, Select Elite, Korova, Kurvana, Justdab, and stick e vape.
For info on where to get Heavy Hitters vape cartridges, check out their store locator.
Alright, let’s talk ColdFire carts. I recently got my hands on their Petrol 41 and OG Cookies strains, and let me tell you, they’re something else. I’ve been on a bit of a vape journey in the last six months, trying this and that, but Coldfire is probably the best you can get in LA at the moment.
Very smooth
First off, these carts are smooth as heck. Like, smoother than a freshly paved road. Whether you’re hitting the Petrol 41 or the OG Cookies, you’re in for a treat. The taste? Oh boy, it’s like a flavor explosion in your mouth. It’s right up there with the big guns like Buddies and Heavy Hitters, no doubt.
Speaking of Heavy Hitters, I found out from the budtenders that they’re not doing live resin carts anymore. That’s where ColdFire steps in, and let me tell you, they’re filling that gap like pros.
The packaging is not that great, but who cares
Got these bad boys from Circle Dispensary in Long Beach, and at around 50 bucks for a gram, they’re not breaking the bank either (Always consider the high California weed tax). But here’s the kicker – the packaging is kinda meh. Like, it’s nothing to write home about. But hey, don’t judge a book by its cover, right? Because what’s inside those not-so-flashy packages is pure gold.
In a nutshell, ColdFire carts are the real deal. If you’re in Cali and you’re into vaping, you owe it to yourself to give ’em a whirl. Just be ready to forgive their bland packaging once you taste the magic they hold inside.
d As we preach and preach here at Dab Connection, vapers should avoid the black market when it comes to carts. Fake carts are everywhere and show no sign of stopping. But that’s not you, dear reader! You’re a smart cookie who only buys from legit, licensed, vetted sources. You don’t touch a cart without a dispensary sticker on it. So now if the cart just didn’t live up to your expectations, what do we blame that on now?
Even legit companies can get cannabis oil extraction wrong. This is, after all, a developing industry scarcely a decade old since the first recreational legalization. The cannabis industry is suffering from several conflicting forces, such as spotty legalization and lack of standards, plus quite a few entrepreneurs who are discovering that this weed business is more complicated than they thought it would be.
If you purchase a vape cartridge from a dispensary and it’s a dud, you have every right to go back with your receipt and at least ask for an exchange. At least that’s how it should work. But in any case, if you notice any of the following quality issues consistently with the same distributor (including online dispensaries), you might think of steering clear. Here are five things that can commonly go wrong with a retail cart you bought off the shelf:
It’s Old
This is the most common cause of a good brand or vendor delivering a subpar cart. As we point out in our guide to discolored vape cartridge oil, time is the ultimate killer of vape cartridges. You want your cartridge oil “fresh squeezed,” so to speak, as much as possible. From the day it’s made, the cart is steadily losing potency as the organic compounds in it begin to degrade. Add to this that not everybody in the supply chain process might have been well-trained in the proper handling of stock. The carts might have been exposed to heat, moisture, or other factors that degraded the quality further. The maximum shelf life of a cart is one year. If you bought your cart on a hot sale, chances are it was nearing its sell-by date, so it might be weaker oil.
It’s Weak
To reiterate our earlier point, the science of cartridge extraction isn’t always an exact science. There are several reasons why your cartridge may have a lower cannabinoid potency than advertised and even lower yet than what’s on the lab sheet. For one thing, lack of interstate federal standards mean that lab tests won’t be standard from state to state. Variables include things like frequency of sampling, batch sampling to control for inconsistencies, thoroughness of cannabinoid breakdown, and so on. But at the bottom line, sloppy quality control can be responsible for a deficit in cart potency.
Cheap Hardware
Few things in life are more frustrating than top-grade oil in a low-quality cartridge that clogs, leaks, and otherwise under-performs. Faulty cartridge hardware may cause the oil to not heat up enough or overheat, or heat unevenly. The cart materials may reek of plastics, metals, or chemicals. The 510 threads may be a hair off standard making for a faulty connection with your battery. Faulty hardware is becoming less common as vendors get a feel for why standards are necessary, but you still run across that extractor who was desperate enough to order a batch of carts off Alibaba.
Poor Ingredients
I’ll let you into a little secret: not every mom-and-pop vape cart brand has their own extraction lab. Instead, companies may outsource this simple detail, they may just buy white-label oil and slap on their own label, or they might buy ready-made bulk isolates and terpenes and brew their own oil. The most common complaint we hear is botanically derived terpenes as opposed to cannabis-derived terpenes. Botanical terpenes – from exactly where you think they come from, citrus fruit rind and the spice rack – have a harsher taste and ruin the natural cannabis flavors. On top of that, we’ve seen cases where delta 8 was sold as THC, or a cart that was shooting for HHC ended up half CBN, etc. Sometimes when you see 5 different cannabinoids listed, that’s because they started with CBD, ran a synthetic conversion process on it, half-way finished, tested the oil, and whatever cannabinoids show up in the most percentage get listed on the box.
It Was Backdoored
Ha ha, got you! You can go to a dispensary and still end up with a fake cart. How can that happen? Maybe the vendor doesn’t know better and bought fakes off a middleman. Maybe one of the employees is making money selling hot vapes on the side. Ana maybe a vendor ran out of a brand with a backorder a long way away, but he could fill these carts right now… Things happen. For that matter, double-check to see if it was a licensed dispensary at all, or a smoke shop with a case full of truck stop vape classics.
A Reputable Vendor Should Care About Their Product
Like I say,m don;t be afraid to go back to a dispensary with a cartridge that is clearly defective. If you usually get good quality from the place and this one time got bunk, they will want to know about the issue anyway. But even without defect, some carts may be weaker simply because oil can be variable within a batch, or because they sat for nine months but are still technically “good.” You want to try to stick to brands that put out consistent quality.
Welcome to day 2 of Cartridge Week for Penguin Pete (that’s me). This week, the world’s least enthusiastic vape cartridge user gets to review five brands in five days. Today’s cart is a doozy – Strain Snobs. It’s a delta 8 with artificial, forced terpenes that doesn’t deliver much effect.
Pros:
Made by an actual company that apparently distributes this stuff to real dispensaries
Cons:
Crap packaging
No tests
No labeling for cannabinoids/terpenes
Crap taste
So-so effects
Recommendations: Clearly this product is aimed at the gas station / vape shop crowd and almost has no business being discussed on a cannabis products forum. Therefore, our only suggestion is “move out of the slums.”
Strain Snobs: Disappointment from start to finish
They say “don’t judge a book by its cover,” but in the case of vape cartridges, the packaging is a very good tip-off to what you are getting. Doubly so with Strain Snobs, which looks so skeevy that even a Muha Meds would be embarrassed to be seen next to it. This logo looks like the lovechild of a leprechaun and the Hamburglar. The package is just heat-sealed clamshell plastic.
Dwell upon it:
The back doesn’t even bother filling the blank space with some helpful lab testing info or even promises about ingredients, just this logo that’s drawn to try to appeal to the Heavy Hitters crowd. This product is targeted at one market and one market only: In a Skid Row convenience store right between the crack pipes and the knock-off Viagra pills.
Cannabis oil does not taste like that!
Today’s strain is marked “Sour Diesel” just like yesterday’s cartridge from Delta 8 Factory, yet they could not taste more different. The Delta 8 Factory at least tasted consistent with other Sour Diesels I’ve tasted. This Strain Snobs cart tasted like lemon furniture polish with a mouthwash twist. It’s not only unappealing, but downright nasty, harsh, artificial, and punishing on the lungs.
Cartridge manufacturer’s note: I am really losing patience with these artificial, super-sweet candy flavors passed off as cannabis strains! Knock it off with the sugar diabetes marketing! Yes, there are a few cannabis strains with a mildly citrus flavor, a few more with a tangy taste. That doesn’t mean you squeeze 25 lemons into a cart and call it a day. This artificially sweet flavor is harsh on the lungs and the citric acid is choking.
Anyway: The oil in this cartridge even looks like lemon juice.
Effects are barely there
It is delta 8, which is normally half the effects of THC, as you know from our altcan guide. I do certainly feel something, but it’s not the usual delta 8 “heady high with an energy boost.” It doesn’t feel couch-locky either. It’s just middle-of-the-road buzzy and relaxing, even a bit sedating. Just nowhere near as much fun as other cartridges I’ve tried.
The Price is INSANELY High!
Going by the prices where this cart is sold, I checked it out on PureCBDNow. The price there says “from $44.99” and by the time you select the 1-gram, the price goes to $54.99! Yesterday’s cartridge, the Delta 8 Factory one, was $60 and was way overpriced at that, despite having some attempt at making decent flavored oil. Strain Snobs has no business selling ANYTHING for $54.99! My God, the things you could get for that price – live resin for $40, 2 grams of great delta 8 dabs for $30, whole jars of flower – the list goes on!
Strain Snobs is an Insult to Cannabis
I am terribly sorry to be such a negative Nancy here. I don’t think this is a brand that cares what we consumers think, anyway. In a world we live in today, with so many cartridges to choose from, Strain Snobs belongs right at the bottom of the pile. There’s at least 999 cartridges you should try out there that are cheaper and higher quality than Strain Snobs.
The company that claims credit for Strain Snobs is Active CBD Oil. They apparently distribute products nationwide, including at 5 Colorado dispensaries, but my guess is that’s their own house brand (Active CBD Oil itself) while the Strain Snobs are shipped out to truck stops in Michigan. Find it here, if you dare.
Today we will try a puff on Surplus purified live resin cartridges from Mammoth Distribution. Mammoth Distribution is also responsible for other brands, such as Heavy Hitters, Rad Vapes, and Almora Farm. At this point in time, Surplus offers three different cartridges, which are their purified live resin, Tropics blend, and distillate cartridges as well as their Pax pods. Previously, I had tried the distillate cartridge from Surplus, which I found somewhat disappointing with a slightly artificial perfume-like aftertaste. For today’s review, I will sample the Surplus Live Resin cartridge, to see if it has improved over their distillate cartridge.
Pros:
Solid quality
Improved taste
Fair price
Cons:
Potency can be improved
Recommendations: The potency of this live resin could be stronger.
License information: C11-0000107-LIC
Oil looks lighter in color, similar to Buddies, Raw Garden, and Stiiizy CDT pods
This time around, I picked their GG4 purified live resin cartridge from Surplus Cartridge Co., which comes inside a basic, unassuming package with minimal fuzz. While the distillate cartridges are in green-colored mylar bags, the live resin cartridges are packaged in an off-white-colored mylar bag. The oil of this purified live resin cartridge looks lighter in color, similar to Buddies, Raw Garden and Stiiizy Cannabis Derived Terpenes pods. The ingredients of this purified live resin are listed as extracted cannabis oil with live resin terpenes. The build and design of these live resin cartridges are the same as their distillate cartridge in Jupiter CCELL hardware. There were some issues with airflow towards the end of this live resin cartridge. That can be expected with most Jupiter CCELL cartridges.
Better tasting and slightly more potent than Permanent Holiday, Ammo Brand, and Timeless Noir cartridges
Gorilla Glue #4 is a popular multi-award-winning strain created by a three-way hybrid cross between Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. The taste of this GG4 live resin cartridge is sour, earthy, and chemical with hints of chocolate, pine, and diesel. Overall, I felt the taste of these live resin cartridges is easily a vast improvement over their distillate cartridges. Furthermore, this purified live resin was better tasting and slightly more potent than Permanent Holiday, Ammo Brand, and Timeless Noir cartridges.
Paled in comparison to the live resin cartridges from Kingpen, Sherbinski, and Dab Logic in terms of potency
The effects of GG4 felt uplifting, relaxing, and euphoric so it was ideal for any time of day. The potency of this “purified” live resin cartridge feels very similar to a current Raw Garden, Apex Pinnacle, and Stiiizy CDT pod with a stronger onset with a relatively shorter high. In terms of potency, this live resin cartridge paled in comparison to the Kingpen live resin cartridge, the Sherbinski live resin cartridge, and the Dab Logic solventless vape cartridge from earlier this month. The THC % of this GG4 live resin cartridge is 73.10%. The CBD is 0.18%, and the total cannabinoid is 75.83%. This strain is known for treating conditions such as chronic pain, depression, insomnia, and muscle spasms/tremors.
Not quite as tasty or potent as the more expensive Heavy Hitters live resin cartridges
The retail price for Surplus purified live resin cartridges is usually around $50 for a full gram, pre-tax. Currently, they also offer a new Surplus Tropics series of cartridges. Those supposedly have a tropical flavor with barely any cannabis taste, which comes in a tie-dye mylar bag. Although Mammoth Distribution is also behind Heavy Hitters Live resin cartridges, these aren’t quite as tasty or potent as the more expensive half-gram Heavy Hitters live resin cartridges.
Its solid quality, improved taste, and fair price is still miles better than the Rad Vapes
To wind up this review, the Surplus purified live resin cartridges are mildly recommended for their solid quality, improved taste, and fair price. The potency of these live resin cartridges is not quite on the level of Heavy Hitters Live. But it’s still miles better than the Rad Vapes from Mammoth Distribution. We found Rad Vapes to have disappointingly weak strength and poor hardware. You can get your mitts on Surplus purified live resin, Tropics blend, and distillate cartridges, as well as their Pax pods, in select dispensaries throughout California off Weedmaps here.

This week, we will sample the Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges from Ember Valley. Over the recent years, the oft-reliable Kingpen has been plagued with counterfeit black market copies and failed pesticide tests. But with surprising tenacity, they have recently teamed up with Ember Valley and recently undergone a soft rebrand that includes their new live resin cartridges. Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges are now available in half and full grams in select dispensaries throughout California. For our review today, I will try the new Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges from Ember Valley.
Pros:
Excellent quality
Strong potency
Solid effects
Delicious taste
Decent price
Cons:
None
Recommendations: None
License information: CDPH-10002329
The new Kingpen Royale has an updated look
The new updated packaging for their Royale live resin cartridges is far classier and more elegant than their previous versions. Now, their cartridges are packaged in black square-sized steel tin cases. When opening the case, the cartridge comes inside a black recycled plastic tube with its name printed in gold embossed letters. Previously the logo design and lettering for their distillate cartridges were printed in plain white. The design and lettering for their Royale cartridges are embossed in gold. Their original Kingpen logo artwork is replaced with the Royale name logo for these live resin cartridges.
Oil looks similar to Surplus, not quite as dark as other live resin cartridges
The design and quality for their new live resin CCELL cartridges is a true step up from their older cartridge models. They have much better airflow and efficient performance. I had little to no issues throughout most of this live resin cartridge. The color of the oil is somewhat lighter than usual, similar to the Surplus purified live resin cartridge I tried this month. On the other hand, it wasn’t quite as dark as the Ammo Brand live resin cartridges, the Connected live resin disposables, and the Dab Logic solventless vape cartridge.
Tasted better and much smoother than Surplus Cartridge Co, Permanent Holiday and Ammo Brand
This month, I picked up a full gram Kush Cake live resin cartridge from Kingpen Royale. Kush Cake, also known as Double Kush Cake, is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Cherry Pie and Girl Scout Cookies. The gassy taste of this Kush Cake cartridge is sweet, earthy, and nutty with subtle hints of lemon, vanilla, and cherries. This live resin cartridge tasted better and much smoother than the live resin cartridges from Surplus Cartridge Co, Permanent Holiday, and Ammo Brand.
Effects felt slightly weaker than Alpine, Buddies, Heavy Hitters, Connected disposables
The initial effects of Kush Cake felt cerebrally uplifting and euphoric. Then it was followed with deeply relaxing effects that are felt throughout the body. So the effects would be best enjoyed towards the latter half of the day. Or it would also be well-suited as a way to decompress after work during evenings. The effects felt slightly weaker than the live resin cartridges from Alpine, Buddies, Heavy Hitters as well as the Connected disposables. On the other hand, this live resin also felt stronger than Surplus Cartridge Co., Ammo Brand, and Timeless Noir.
Felt stronger than Surplus Cartridge Co., Ammo Brand, and Timeless Noir
The retail price for Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges is roughly around $50-60 for a full gram. In my opinion, this Kush Cake live resin cartridge was one of the stronger and tastier recent ones I’ve tried since the ceramic live resin cartridges from Alpine Vapor. Kingpen has significantly improved its brand by collaborating with Ember Valley for their latest live resin cartridges and prerolls.
The new Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges are highly recommended, especially their collaborations with Ember Valley
In conclusion, the new live resin cartridges from Kingpen Royale are highly recommended for their excellent quality, strong potency, and delicious taste. Specifically, I would recommend checking out their recent collaborations with Ember Valley. Overall, I would rank this one next to the sauce cartridges from Pacific Stone, Friendly Farms, and Legion Of Bloom. Kingpen Royale live resin cartridges, original distillate cartridges, and infused pre-rolls can be found in select dispensaries throughout California through their store locator here.

Here at dabconnection.com we always try to bring you the best cannabis industry-related reviews and news. A very important part of that is helping you, the users, spot fake products and avoid them. So we came up with the idea to make a mega list and cover all known fake carts out there. This list will be continuously updated.
The easiest way to search this list is to press CTRL+F and search the text of the cart you are looking for.
This list is made using data gathered by our main editor Pete who is an expert when it comes to fake carts.
Definitions of cartridges:
Legit – An actual company with a license and location Street / Black Market – A single-source unlicensed brand that does not appear on fake cartridge retailer listing yet Counterfeit / Faked – Knock-offs of legit brands Fake – A brand that appears to be completely baseless, sold only through fake cartridge retailer listings
Don’t buy THC carts online. Because of federal law, they can’t be shipped across states. If a site or an Instagram page offers shipment across states they are scammers and are selling fake products that you won’t probably even get if you pay for them. (side note: CBD and delta 8 are exceptions to the shipping rule, but even there you’re gambling.)

Tokemon carts and pokecarts are both black-market cartridges with no central source, with empty packaging on DHgate-style websites being the only source. Today we will take a look at Connected Cannabis Company, known for becoming one of the leading cultivators of designer cannabis strains since it was founded in 2009. Connected Cannabis Co. has collaborated with Beezle Brands, Friendly Farms, Suprize Suprize, and Field Extracts. Connected Cannabis Co. currently offers flower eighths, live resin concentrates, pre-rolls, and half-gram disposables in select dispensaries throughout California. Prior to this review, I have enjoyed many of their different live resin concentrates, which include live resin sauce, badder, and diamonds. For this review, I’ll try a couple of their latest strains for their live resin disposables.
Pros:
Sleek compact design
Solid battery strength
Great taste
Strong potency
Fair price
Cons:
Slightly pricier than other disposables
Battery voltage a little too high
Recommendations: The battery voltage could be lower so that it’s less harsh. It would also prevent any issues with airflow or clogging.
Connected live resin disposables are surprisingly slick, compact, and efficient, but the battery strength is a little too high
The build quality and design of the Connected live resin disposables are surprisingly slick, compact, and efficient. This is also utilized for the Alien Labs live resin disposables. The powerful strength of the battery for these disposables produces an impressive amount of vapor for such a small unit. It should be noted that the oil drains a little faster than other live resin cartridges/disposables. However, there were some airflow issues towards the second half of these live resin disposables.
It might be better if the battery voltage was turned down a tiny bit so that it’s slightly less harsh. It would also be advised that you keep the disposable upright, as it can cause some clogging issues if it is left on its side or lying flat on a surface. In addition, each disposable pod is helpfully labeled with the strain name on one side and with the Connected logo on the other side.
Slightly tastier and more potent than Legion of Bloom, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone
This week, I picked their Lemonatti x Atomic Apple live resin disposable, which combines two of their most popular strains. Lemonatti is a balanced hybrid cross between Gelonade and Biscotti. Atomic Apple is a hybrid cross between Triangle Mints and Apple Fritter. The taste of Lemonatti x Atomic Apple is sweet, fruity, and floral. It has hints of tangy lemons, sweet mandarin oranges, and sour apple candy. The heady high of Lemonatti x Atomic Apple felt uplifting, euphoric, and relaxing as it had a nice balance of both its Sativa and Indica effects. This live resin disposable was slightly tastier and more potent than Legion of Bloom, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone. The THC of Lemonatti x Atomic Apple is 75.78% and the total cannabinoid % is 82.775%.
Just as tasty and potent as Friendly Farms, Kurvana Carbon21 and Aces Disposables
The other strain I picked up was Mr. Sandman, which is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Sunset Sherbert and Gelato 41, another popular hybrid of two famous strains. The taste of Mr. Sandman is sweet, fruity, and spicy with hints of berries, pine, and earth. The potent high of Mr. Sandman felt calm, mellow, relaxing as it felt mostly body-heavy in its effects. This live resin disposable felt just as tasty and potent as Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges, Kurvana Carbon21 badder sauce cartridges, and Aces Disposables. The THC of Mr. Sandman is 74.085% and the total cannabinoid % is 79.734%. Although I preferred the taste of Lemonatti x Atomic Apple for its delicious flavor, I enjoyed the potency of Mr. Sandman for its better medicinal effects. Connected lemonatti atomic apple lab results.
Not quite as tasty and potent as Alpine, Heavy Hitters, and Buddies
The price for Connected live resin disposables ranges from $30-40 for a half-gram, pre-tax. In my opinion, these live resin disposables are easily worth the price as they are some of the best I’ve tried in recent years. These live resin disposables seriously felt just as effective in its entourage effects as their live resin concentrates, but available in a discreet looking pod. However, these live resin disposables weren’t quite as tasty and potent as the live resin cartridges from Alpine, Heavy Hitters, and Buddies.
Overall, Connected live resin disposables might be some of the best disposables
In conclusion, these live resin disposables are recommended for their sleek compact design, solid battery strength, great flavor, and strong potency. Overall, this live resin disposable was slightly tastier and more potent than Legion of Bloom, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone. These felt just as tasty and potent as Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges, Kurvana badder sauce cartridges, and Aces Disposables. But these live resin disposables weren’t quite as tasty and potent as the live resin cartridges from Alpine, Heavy Hitters, and Buddies. Right now, Connected Cannabis Co. offers flower eighths, live resin concentrates, pre-rolls, and half-gram disposables in select dispensaries throughout California.

We’re still in the early days of cannabis legalization, and all the different dispensaries have not quite standardized their advertising methods. When we do get to that day, we’ll have it all catalogued by the city on DankOil. Which is still improving and hopefully will be easier to use as time goes on.
Readers, help us along by commenting with what’s happening at your local dispensary!
Today we will take a look at Dime Bag cartridges powered by Loudpack Extracts, which we have previously reviewed here. Recently, I’ve enjoyed the live resin concentrates from both Loudpack Extracts and their budget-conscious brand, Dime Bag Concentrates. Loudpack Extracts is also responsible for popular brands such as Dimebag, Kingpen, and Smokiez Edibles. Dimebag currently offers cartridges, concentrates, flower eighths, pre-rolls, and edibles in select dispensaries throughout California. For this review, I will take a look at the pros and cons of the Dimebag distillate cartridges from Loudpack Extracts.
Pros:
Efficient CCELL hardware
Above-average potency
Fair taste
Affordable value
Cons:
Plastic mouthpiece and tube
Taste/potency could be improved
Recommendations: Taste/potency for Dime Bag cartridges could be improved. The oil could be better in glass or ceramic hardware.
Dime Bag cartridges use a plastic tip mouthpiece and tube for their cartridge
This week, I picked up the Sunset Sherbert cartridge from Dime Bag, which is the budget-conscious brand for Loudpack Extracts. The build quality and design of Dime Bag cartridges have fairly efficient CCELL hardware. However, this cartridge did have issues working with certain 510 batteries. Dime Bag cartridges also use a plastic tip mouthpiece and tube for their cartridge, similar to Select Elite cartridges. The oil inside this Dime Bag cartridge burned at a regular rate for a distillate cartridge. The bottom of the cart is also labeled with a Banana Bros. logo and name.
Tastes better than Jeeter Juice, not as tasty as Legion of Bloom Monarch cartridges but similar to Leune Pax pods
Sunset Sherbert is a popular Indica dominant hybrid cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties, first bred by Mr. Sherbinski. The taste of this Sunset Sherbert is sweet, earthy, and fruity with creamy hints of citrus, pine, and earth. Although the flavor of this distillate was nothing too special, it still tastes better than Jeeter Juice, which had a perfume-like aftertaste. While this distillate wasn’t quite as tasty as the Monarch cartridges from Legion of Bloom, it feels somewhat similar in quality to the regular distillate Pax pods from Leune Brand.
Not as potent as Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges and Timeless Noir cartridges with cannabis terpenes
The effects of this distillate cartridge felt initially euphoric, a bit mellow, and somewhat relaxing. However, the potency of this cartridge felt weak as this cartridge didn’t feel too strong or last too long. Overall, the effects of this cartridge felt slightly disappointing, especially compared to the quality, potency, and taste of their live resin concentrates from Dime Bag and Loudpack. In addition, the potency of the Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges and Timeless Noir cartridges with cannabis terpenes felt much stronger than the Dime Bag cartridges for a better overall value. This strain is intended to help with symptoms of ADD/ADHD, anxiety, arthritis, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, loss of appetite, mood swings, and stress.
There are better distillates elsewhere, such as Absolute Extracts, Legion of Bloom, Heavy Hitters, Kurvana and PlugPlay
The price for Dime Bag distillate cartridges is usually priced around $35 for a full gram, pre-tax. In my opinion, this would be a very mild recommendation for its value, but you can find better distillates elsewhere, such as Absolute Extracts, Legion of Bloom, Heavy Hitters, Kurvana, and PlugPlay. The THC % of this Sunset Sherbert cartridge is 76.91% and the CBD % is 0.60%. Overall, this felt much weaker than most of the recent distillate cartridges I’ve recently tried.
Overall, I would mildly recommend Dime Bag cartridges for their above-average potency, fair taste, and affordable value
In conclusion, Dime Bag cartridges are mildly recommended for their above-average potency, fair taste, and affordable value. Overall, this distillate wasn’t as tasty as Legion of Bloom Monarch cartridges. In addition, the potency wasn’t as strong as Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges and Timeless Noir cartridges with cannabis terpenes. However, this Dime Bag cartridge was much better than the Jeeter Juice cartridge by a wide margin. In my opinion, there are better distillate choices out there, such as Absolute Extracts, Legion of Bloom, Heavy Hitters, Kurvana, and PlugPlay. Dime Bag currently offers cartridges, concentrates, flower eighths, pre-rolls, and edibles in select dispensaries throughout California.

Today we will take a look at Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges from Seven Leaves, which is another very popular brand in California. We have previously reviewed the live resin cartridges here. Recently, I also enjoyed their cured sauce in collaboration with Seven Leaves, particularly their Vovo and Blue Slush. Friendly Farms has also previously collaborated with Alien Labs, Connected, Humboldt’s Finest, LitHouse, and Terp Hogz among others. Friendly Farms currently offers cartridges, concentrates, flower eighths, and tinctures in select dispensaries throughout California. For this review, I will take a look at the pros and cons of the Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges.
Pros:
Excellent oil quality
Solid potency/effects
Affordable price
Great taste
Cons:
None
Recommendations: None
Friendly Farms utilizes the same AVD hardware as Cookies Enterprises and Blue River
The build quality and design are sturdy and reliable as they utilize the same AVD hardware as the sauce cartridges from Cookies Enterprises and Blue River. The oil quality looks somewhat lighter in color than other similar cured resin and/or sauce cartridges. The oil also burns at a normal rate throughout this sauce cartridge.
Not quite as tasty as the new Kurvana sauce cartridges, but slightly tastier than Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom
This week, I picked up the Jupiter Jack cured resin cartridge from the collaboration between Friendly Farms and Seven Leaves. Jupiter Jack is a Sativa-dominant phenotype of Jack Herer, which is perfect for daytime usage. The taste of Jupiter Jack is sweet, floral, and spicy with hints of lemon, pine, and earth. The effects of Jupiter Jack felt initially euphoric, creative, and focused followed by an uplifting and relaxing body high. This strain is intended to treat mental or neurological disorders, including bipolar disorder, anxiety, migraines, PTSD, and ADHD.
Although I enjoyed the potency of this Jupiter Jack cured resin cartridge, the flavor was not quite as tasty as the new Kurvana Carbon21 sauce cartridges. However, the flavor of both cured resin cartridges from Friendly Farms is slightly tastier than the live resin and sauce cartridges from Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom. The THC % of Jupiter Jack is 80.28% and the total cannabinoid % is 90.75%.
Slightly stronger than Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom
Next, I also picked up the Grease Monkey cartridge from Friendly Farms and Seven Leaves. Grease Monkey is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between GG4 and Cookies and Cream from Exotic Genetix. The taste of Grease Monkey is sweet, nutty, and skunky with hints of vanilla, earth, and diesel. The effects of Grease Monkey felt euphoric, relaxing, and sedative.
This strain effectively relieves symptoms of chronic pain, inflammation, insomnia, loss of appetite, nausea, and stress. Overall, the overall potency of both cured resin cartridges felt slightly stronger than Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom. The THC % of Grease Monkey is 71.44% and the total cannabinoid % is 77.79%.
Jupiter Jack’s strength is its potency; Grease Monkey’s strength is its flavor
The retail price for the cured resin cartridges from the collaboration between Friendly Farms and Seven Leaves is usually $40 for a full gram, pre-tax. In my opinion, this is one of the better-cured resin cartridges for its quality, potency, and taste. The price is similar to Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom, but with slightly better taste and potency. While I enjoyed the Jupiter Jack for its solid potency, I enjoyed the Grease Monkey for its delicious flavor.
Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges have excellent oil quality, solid potency, and great taste
In conclusion, Friendly Farms cured resin cartridges are recommended for their excellent oil quality, solid potency, and great taste. Both cured resin cartridges were slightly tastier and felt more potent than the live resin/sauce cartridges from Timeless Noir, Pacific Stone, and Legion of Bloom. However, Kurvana sauce cartridges, Blue River Jelly sauce cartridges, and Heavy Hitters Live were tastier and stronger than the cured resin cartridges from Friendly Farms. In addition, I preferred the flavor of Grease Monkey over the Jupiter Jack, which felt more potent than Grease Monkey.
Friendly Farms currently offers cartridges, concentrates, flower eighths, and tinctures in select dispensaries throughout California, which can be found on Weedmaps here. Have you tried them? Let us know in the comments or on our forum.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Friendly Farms is a frequently counterfeited brand. We hear many, many reports of fakes on the street, and even the brand owner dropped by to personally advise our readers about spotting fakes. Be sure you get your Friendly Farms from a licensed, reputable dispensary to ensure a quality experience.
Today we will take a look at the new Kurvana Carbon21 cartridge series. You can find our previous review of the Kurvana ASCND here. Recently, Kurvana won second place in vape cartridges for their Chocolope sauce cartridge at this year’s High Times SoCal People’s Edition Cannabis Cup. Kurvana’s Carbon21 series is their new signature of cartridges with three different options for their official launch.
The look of the Kurvana Carbon21 box is similar to their popular ASCND series, but with dark grey packaging. This week, I thoroughly enjoyed their Zkittlez sauce cartridge, so I wanted to try their new badder sauce cartridge as well. For this review, I will take a look at the pros and cons of the Kurvana Carbon21 badder sauce cartridge.
Pros:
Strong potency/effects
Excellent taste
Incredibly smooth airflow
Great value
Cons:
Slightly pricier than other sauce cartridges
Recommendations: None
Kurvana Carbon21 has incredibly smooth airflow, similar to Apex Pinnacle
This week, I picked up the Mai Tai badder sauce cartridge from the new Kurvana Carbon21 series. The build quality and design of the new Carbon21 cartridges are similar to their ASCND cartridges. They both have carbon grey-colored mouthpieces and cartridge rings. Although it is still the same plastic build, it has incredibly smooth airflow, similar to Apex Pinnacle live resin cartridges.
Slightly better than Friendly Farms, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone, not quite as tasty as Alpine Vapor, Buddies, and Heavy Hitters
Mai Tai is a balanced hybrid cross between Maui Waui and Tutti Frutti. The taste of this Mai Tai badder sauce cartridge is fruity, earthy, and floral. It has hints of sweet and sour citrus, tart tropical berries. All of that is followed by a touch of fresh mint on the exhale. Overall, this badder sauce cartridge tastes slightly better than the cured resin sauce cartridges from Friendly Farms, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone. However, the live resin cartridges from Alpine Vapor, Buddies, and Heavy Hitters were slightly tastier than this badder sauce cartridge.
Potency felt similar to Runtz and the Legion of Bloom, but not as potent as Blue River jelly sauce cartridge
The effects of Mai Tai felt initially uplifting, euphoric, and sociable then calm, tingly, and relaxing. This badder sauce cartridge is perfect for creative activities during the daytime. It is also great for unwinding with your favorite TV show during the weekend. Overall, this badder sauce cartridge wasn’t quite as potent as the Blue River Jelly sauce cartridge as well as the live resin cartridges from Alpine, Buddies, and Heavy Hitters.
The potency also felt similar to the Runtz sauce cartridge from Cookies Enterprises and the Legion of Bloom California sauce cartridge. However, it was tastier and felt more potent than Permanent Holiday live resin cartridges as well as HIFLY sauce pods.
Tastier and felt more potent than Permanent Holiday and Hi Fly sauce pods
The new Kurvana Carbon21 sauce cartridges are usually priced around $40 for a half-gram. In my opinion, these sauce cartridges are recommended for their potency, taste, and smoothness, although they are slightly more expensive than most other regular sauce cartridges. The primary terpenes are listed as B-Caryophyllene, Linalool, and Limonene. The effects of Mai Tai are intended to treat symptoms of chronic pain, depression, anxiety, inflammation, and stress. The total THC % is 77.05%, the total CBD % is 0.31%, and the total cannabinoid % is 85.08%.
The new Kurvana Carbon21 sauce cartridges have strong potency, excellent taste, and incredibly smooth airflow
In conclusion, I would recommend the new Kurvana sauce carts for their strong potency, excellent taste, and incredibly smooth airflow. Although I enjoyed this Mai Tai Badder sauce cartridge, I slightly preferred the taste and smoothness of the Zkittlez sauce cartridge. Overall, this badder sauce cartridge tastes slightly better than the cured resin sauce cartridges from Friendly Farms, Timeless Noir, and Pacific Stone. The potency also felt similar to the Runtz sauce cartridge from Cookies Enterprises and the Legion of Bloom California sauce cartridge. However, the live resin cartridges from Alpine Vapor, Buddies, and Heavy Hitters were slightly tastier than this badder sauce cartridge.
Kurvana’s Carbon21 series and their ASCND series are available in select dispensaries throughout California, which can be found with their store locator here. Have you tried them? Let us know what you think in the comments or on our forum.
