How To Use A 510 Threaded Cartridge on an AiroPro Battery

8
airo pro adapter

The steps to getting your AiroPro battery to work with a regular 510 threaded vape cartridge are easy. Just get a magnetic adapter and it’s ready to go. The size of the adapter does make a difference though and a mid size adapter is best.

airo pro adapter
The mid size one in the center is labeled “Tall” by PCKT Vapor.

We had access to quite a few adapter types and found the mid-size adapter, called the “tall adapter” that’s made for the PCKT One to be the best. Its extra length gives it better airflow than smaller magnetic adapters, particularly on CCELL carts. The adapter comes with the small and large one for $9.99. Really any magnetic 510 adapter in that same size should give similar results. The point is don’t go with the shortest style, airflow is worse.

This method works on bottom airflow cartridges, top airflow carts will need a button push battery

You probably will not get top airflow cartridges to work on the AiroPro battery. It is inhalation activated and most top airflow cartridges, like those from Rove and Cannabiotix, require a button push battery.

City Trees Vape Pen Review: Real Energy and Bliss

city trees vape review

City Trees disposable vape pens come with labels rather than regular strains. Here we review both the City Trees Bliss and Energy disposable vapes. Both lived up to their names. Bliss is their Indica, and Energy is their Sativa.

Pros:

  • Good effects
  • Authentic CCELL hardware
  • Titles live up to their names

Cons:

  • Can be expensive at some stores
  • Test results printed on separate sheet

Recommendations: Include test results on packaging (test results are still provided, just printed out in NV).

City Trees vape pens live up to their names, providing both Energy and Bliss

city trees
We tried out both Energy and Bliss.

City Trees Energy really gave you energy. I was quite amazed how well it worked as a pre workout vape. It has that energizing effect you get from blazing a potent sativa. The City Trees Bliss vape was more relaxing. A great vape for the end of the day.

City Trees disposables use top quality hardware

city trees energy
CCELL tends to have the best hardware tor THC oil.

The hardware used on City Trees disposables is authentic CCELL. This is the same hardware used in Roots disposable and it does work well. I do like the Select Weekender hardware that shows the oil, but it only holds 0.3g while the City Trees has 0.5g. Hits are consistent and there were no issues with the battery dying early.

city trees mouthpiece
Good airflow comes through.

Airflow runs smoothly through the mouthpiece shown above. After reviewing many carts, we find that some lack airflow due to a too small hole on the mouthpiece, like we found on the otherwise great Game Time cartridges.

Oil quality is excellent, pesticide free and the testing is strict

City Trees is a Las Vegas based company and you might see them in other states soon. The oil quality is excellent and in NV testing is very strict, so it is rare any pesticides would make it through to the shelves. The only company I have seen dissapear off the shelves for not providing proper test results was Brass Knuckles. It was taken off the the shelf at Essence Tropicana West because they did not provide proper results.

City Trees disposables were pretty strong

city trees energy and bliss
Not much info on the back, but you get test results printed on a receipt.

You get a great boost of energy after hitting the Energy vape. A true sativa feeling without the excess of feeling like you smoked. City Trees’ Energy is a cleaner way to get some “cannabis energy” than smoking a sativa joint. It also does not have as much of a crash later as the joint does (plus it’s easier to just keep puffing on the vape rather than roll another joint). I would not say it was the strongest I have ever tried, but definitely one of the most energizing.

Both City Trees vapes have good taste, but the Bliss vape takes taste to a higher level

City Trees Energy vape was decent tasting and definitely above average, but the Bliss vape was one of the better tasting disposables I have tried. It was berry like in flavor and keeps a consistent flavor throughout the hit. Energy tasted more like a standard sativa cart, but still was above average on taste.

city trees bliss
Great view for a great tasting vape.

High number of puffs, both vapes lasted a while

I used both of these vapes for extended periods. The number of puffs I got out of these was definitely above average. I actually hit it for quite a while, more than I would most carts, and then let a friend borrow my Energy and he hit it for even longer. No complaints on longevity for City Trees vapes.

Value is good at the right dispensary

At Essence Tropicana West and other dispensaries in Las Vegas, they generally go for around $45. Sometimes you may come across a sale, but these are worth the full price at most dispensaries. Head on over to the only dispensary in Mesquite, Deep Roots and you will find City Trees vapes for $65 for a half gram, which is quite expensive. At the standard $45 price, City Trees disposable vapes are a good value.

Update: More recent packaging as of December 2020

We dropped in to check out City Trees again. They’re still as good as we found them before, but the packaging is updated. Here it is so you know what to look for:

Concluding our City Trees vape pen review… Overall Score 8.8/10

Overall City Trees delivered when it came to Energy and Bliss. Energy works great as a natural pre workout that won’t make you feel like your chest is going to explode. Bliss offers awesome flavor and a bliss-like effect. Although strains are not named, City Trees truly gets the Sativa and Indica effects spot on in their disposable vapes. Now that they have released 510 carts, I will have to try those out soon.

How To Make Your THC and CBD Oil Cartridges Last Longer

13
make cartridges last longer
Vaping Tips to Make Your THC & CBD Oil Cartridges Last Longer

This guide on making your cartrdiges last longer is inpired by an original video by Jordan Brown gives us vape pen tips on how to make your THC and CBD vape cartridges go the extra mile.

Tips to Make your THC & CBD Oil Cartridges Last Longer

THC and CBD vape cartridges can be expensive. We hope this guide helps you get more life out of the oil in those cartridges. Looking for the best cartridges? Check out our best of California and best of Nevada lists. If you have any comments or other suggestions please comment below! You might also be interested in how to swap oil between cartridges.

#1 When you vape, make sure that you are inhaling the vapor into the lungs

THC/CBD absorption does not happen well if you let the vapor sit in your mouth. You can absorb some of the THC with the lining of your mouth, but it’s not as efficient if you inhale it down to your lungs.

How to inhale your vapor
Make sure to pull the vapor into your lungs.

#2 When you inhale the THC/CBD into your lungs, make sure you inhale deep and hold it there so that your lungs can fully absorb the THC or CBD

Your lungs have a certain capacity in how quickly it can absorb THC and CBD. Make sure that when you vape, you hold your breath for around 5 seconds before releasing. To know that you’re doing it correctly, when you exhale, there should be limited vapor visibility. Also, the harder you pull the vapor into your lungs will effect how much THC/CBD you absorb as well.

#3 Switch off between oil and flower

Whether it’s smoking flower or vaping oil, your body reacts depending on how you consume your THC and CBD. When vaping oil, you are consuming much more THC in a hit than you would with flower. Some people like switching between flower and oil so that they maintain their tolerance levels. Brown tells us that he hits his vape pen in the morning to ensure that he is getting the desired dosage.

#4 Be aware of the temperature you’re vaping at

Many vape pens have different temperatures settings. It’s important to know the right temperature to hit your oil at. Different THC cartridges evaporate at various temperatures producing different levels of high. Experiment with your settings and find the sweet spot that works for you. It is advised that you start low and work your way up to higher temperature. It is a possibility that you may be producing too much vapor for yourself in one hit.

#5 Leave your cartridges in a cool and dry place

Where you store your vape cartridges matter. Brown tells us that THC and CBD cartridges tend to evaporate passively if left in a hot environment. That the tend to evaporate from the top of the cartridge.

cartridge storage
Ensure that your cartridges are stored in a cool place.

#6 Always keep your cartridge up right

The THC and CBD oil tends to stick on top of the cartridge and stay there. You want to make sure that your oil is always contact with the heating element of your cartridge. Think of it as a bottle of honey. If you do not keep it up right, it’ll harden in the corners preventing you from getting all the honey.

#7 Be mindful when your vape pen is on/off

Depending on what kind of vape pen you have, some activate when you inhale or with a button. Know how sensitive your button is and ensure that nothing is making contact with it.

#8 Use an efficient battery for cartridges

Using a mod or regular eCig battery is not always the most efficient way to hit cartridges. Sometimes they hit too hard or airflow is just not optimized for carts. Our top choice for cartridges is the Vessel battery. The Vessel is pricey but the airflow is optimized for vape carts. It hits the best on standard 510 carts (including CCELL) out of the many batteries we have tried. Make sure to check out our Vessel Brand coupon page for the lowest prices on Vessel products.

The next best batteries are cheaper and made by CCELL. Those are the Palm and Silo. Besides the Vessel, nothing hits CCELL carts better than these two, and CCELL carts have become the industry standard. Jetty Extracts, Roots, Select Elite, and Sunday Goods are all using CCELL Cartridges. The Palm and Silo will not work with carts from Rove, Kynd Pure, and Cannabiotix. See our cheapest CCELL products page for info on where to get the best deals on everything CCELL.

#9 You can sometimes recover oil from “empty” cartridges

Your cartridges might look empty, but sometimes there’s more in there you just can’t see that easily. Unscrew the tops and tape them upside down to the side of a shot glass, with the open side pointing down into the glass. Make sure to tape the carts closer to the top of the glass. Let the carts sit upside for a few days. You might find a decent amount of oil in their. You can then fill the cartridge, either a new one or reusing one, by putting the oil into a syringe.

Get the most out of your cartridges

We hope our tips help you get the most out of your vape carts. As we come up with new information and techniques we will add it to the list. If you have any suggestions please comment below or post in our forum.

Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts: Are They The Same and Which Is Better?

2
dank vapes vs cereal carts

Both popular cartridges known for their strength and taste. Here, we compare Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts and point out the differences between them.

Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts: Background between them

Still with no official background to register any company, Dankwoods appears to be running Dank Vapes. With the only resource being their Instagram account, there is still no real information about the company.

As for Cereal Carts, there are rumors that they are actually being produced by Dank Vapes itself. Although we aren’t too sure how accurate this is, Dank Vapes Official do follow Cereal Carts Instagram account. Also, they consistently tag and share their posts and cartridges consistently. Even the package style and cartridge look almost identical.

Looking for carts better than both and in CA or NV? See our top THC cart lists for both California and Nevada.

UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety. We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.

UPDATE 10/23/2019: Dank Vapes and Cereal Carts are all fake. There is some speculation that Dank Vapes was previously a real brand, but at this point we assume all are fake.

Both taste amazing, which is better?

As mentioned in previous posts, Dank Vapes are known for their tasteful flavors, with them having a variety of strains. Dank’s are always coming out with new flavors, and each strain is always satisfying in taste. We’ve tried multiple flavors from them, even back when they had the old packaging and every strain always taste amazing. We recently tried Dank Vapes Sunset Sherbert, and it really did give a sweet and fascinating taste.

dank vapes sunset sherbert
This hybrid gave a smooth and gentle hits, giving a sweet taste to it.

As for Cereal Carts, they are more susceptible and unsure as to what’s infused in the distillate. Each strain being only cereal branded flavors, it’s more likely that the terpenes could be artificial. We can’t be too sure due to their labeling claiming zero percent cut and 10% terpenes. We did encounter a fake Cereal Cart, and it gave really light and dissatisfying taste.

cereal carts
Although Cereal Carts claim to be around 90 THC, there is no lab results to back them up.

Dank Vapes failed in pesticides, Cereal Carts remain a mystery

Unfortunately, Dank Vapes have had negative lab results, containing pesticides and false THC percentages. Whereas they claim to be 80-90% THC, their test show a to be 60-70%.

dank vapes pesticide
Dank Vapes Pesticide Test: In this test they failed, containing a low of 63% THC

As for Cereal Carts, they remain without a test, leaving users clueless about them. With the only information being their Instagram account, it wouldn’t be surprised if contain pesticides in them. There still is no saying due to their lack of background, this is just an assumption from our research.

Oil quality – Which one is more potent?

First off, Dank Vapes and Cereal Carts have a lot in common with their distillate and packaging. They even have a few identical strains that look exactly like each other. The only actual difference seems to be the flavor and color of oil itself.

As said earlier, we can’t be too confident as to what’s actually in them. The flavor to all strains always taste amazing and exactly as the packaging says to be. The fact that there’s no background to them causes serious rumors and damage to the companies reputation.

From our experience, both brands do provide decent quality oil. The consistency does vary depending which flavor, but for the most part it has a strong color to it. Neither cartridge may not be as potent as I’d like, but they both deliver tasty flavors.

Efficiency for the two were the same

Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts both use CCELL cartridges. These carts are specifically designed for thicker oil and tasteful hits. This gives it really efficient and smooth hits depending the type of battery mod you use.

On the down side, the black market is still popular on all of these brands and fake CCELL cartridges. With fake CCELL’s, they carry weak atomizers and give lighter hits than normal. We did encounter a fake Cereal Cart and even though it was still somewhat efficient, it came leaking.

Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts: Both are even in value

When it comes to both of these cartridges, it all leads to preference. Price varies depending where you’re from but for the most part, in our experience, they both cost around the same. Although they do taste amazing, Dank Vapes and Cereal Carts aren’t as trustworthy as they should be.

Furthermore, Dank Vapes failed for pesticides multiple times, and had a lower THC percentage than they claim. From our research, we’d have to say that the more credible and known company would be Dank Vapes.

In regards to Cereal Carts, we can’t really say much due to the lack of their background. They have no lab results or background about them, making them a bit more suspicious. Yeah some of these flavors may taste amazing, especially for people who love cereal but we just aren’t too sure what exactly is in them.

Countless distributors are selling counterfeits everywhere

From social media platforms to bulk online shopping websites, counterfeit packages and unauthentic cartridges are disrupting these brands. This problem could be considered an epidemic, allowing these fakes to fall in the hands of may people. Apart from this, it still remains unsure as to what’s really in these cartridges, especially Cereal Carts.

Concluding Dank Vapes vs Cereal Carts

The question between the two all leads to preference in which flavor you prefer. Personally, I prefer Dank Vapes just because they are just a little more familiar. With Cereal Carts, I thought that the flavor tasted too identical to the cereal itself. This made me wonder if there’s any sort of artificial flavors in them.

Overall, neither companies are as trustworthy as I’d like them to be. Apart from Dank Vapes showing bad tests, there’s a lot of fakes going around, making it hard to trust them. Cereal Carts don’t have any information at all, therefore we can’t fully rely on them too. If both companies fix these set backs, they will become a lot more reputable and safer to vape.  Dank Vapes is overall the winner between the two.

Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts: Which One Is Better and Why

7
dank vapes vs exotic carts

As mentioned with Dank Vapes vs Mario Carts, each of these companies have changed the look of their cartridge. Because of this, a lot of questions and skepticism has risen for vaping these cartridges. Here, we compare Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts and explain why we think Dank Vapes is the overall winner and better choice among the two THC cartridges. Check out our best cartridge lists for California and Nevada if you are in one of those states. All the choices are better than Danks and Exotics.

Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts: Which company is more legit?

With the new packaging on Dank Vapes becoming more available online, skepticism has risen high for legitimacy. Because of this, fake Dank Vapes are becoming very unpredictable in authenticity. This being an extreme problem to the cartridge community, all you can do is follow up and identify if your’s is legit or not.

We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.

dank vapes packaging
Hopefully Dank Vapes decide to upgrade their packaging once again.

As for Exotic Carts, it seems as if someone is trying to re-brand and take over the company. It may not be official, but there has been new packaging and reconstruction to the cartridge. Giving a different look to the cartridge and the packaging. Just like with Mario Carts, they have engraved the logo directly on the cartridge itself. There is even packaging that looks familiar to Dank Vapes, coming in half grams and full grams.

exotic carts new packaging
@ExoticCartsOfficial2 – Although not official, we found these on one of their Instagram accounts

Both tested positive in pesticides

There are various lab results out for both brands, some testing positive and others testing negative. But for the most part, Dank Vapes and Exotic Carts both have negative results out, containing a few pesticides. The most recent results of the two came out around December of 2018. Because this is before both companies updated their packaging, hopefully they follow with updating their lab tests soon.

Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts lab results:

dank vapes pesticide
Dank Vapes Pesticide Test: In this test they failed, containing a low of 63% THC
exotic carts lab results
Exotic carts lab results – Here, Exotic’s have failed, containing 61% THC.

Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts: Which brand offers better flavors?

Although Dank Vapes offer a variety of flavors, the Exotic Cart we tried tasted very bland and unsatisfying. We’ve once reviewed Exotic Carts Gelato and found a simple and bland taste to it. It actually tasted similar to Mario Carts LA Confidential, due to the fact that it lacked terpenes. Even though it did give a high slightly faster than Dank Vapes, nothing will compare its taste with legit Dank’s.

As for Dank Vapes, the authentic cartridges will always taste amazing. The flavor of the distillate should always taste as listed on the packaging. We have unfortunately have found unofficial Dank Vapes. Tasting either extremely metallic, too bland or very strong in terpenes.

How reliable is the oil itself?

Although the oil is denser on the Exotic Carts, it does lack terpenes as mentioned earlier. This may be the reason the oil is dense, whereas Dank Vapes oil is lightly thinner. The Exotic Carts oil is decent and does move slowly. if you’re looking for just a nice high, yet harsh flavors, Exotics would be better.

exotic carts oil
Although the oil quality tasted strong and potent, we aren’t 100% sure what’s infused in it.

As for Dank Vapes, they are known for their taste rather than quality of oil. But regardless, the oil delivers a satisfying and strong high. Unlike Exotic Carts, where they may be tasteless, but the high is sooner.

dank vapes oil
The oil is thin on Dank Vapes but it does taste great.

Efficiency between the two are good, but Dank’s lasted longer

Dank vapes use authentic CCELL cartridges, specifically designed for thicker oil. This allows for more efficient and tasteful hits with the right batter mod. The unfortunate part is that the black market is still popular on Dank Vapes and fake CCELL cartridges. With fake CCELL’s, they carry a weak atomizers. This gives light and unpleasant hits, sometimes this causes the oil to leak.

In regards with Exotic’s, they use a very similar cartridge hardware, kind of like what Mario Carts use. The atomizer they have is a quartz coil that comes in a single plastic cotton. I expected a stronger atomizer just because it did give thick smoke when hitting it. The wire is wrapped around this coil and goes through, to the bottom of it.

exotic carts coil
The atomizer this comes with gives did allow thick and better hits than I’d expect it.

Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts in value

You can find either cartridge for around the same price, $30-$40. Sometimes it may be a little more or less, depending where you’re from. Apart from this, both of these companies aren’t as credible or reputable as they can be.

Dank Vapes do have some background, for they appear to be made by Dankwoods. Another company that does not seem to have any valid registration we can find. The reason we go with them is just because Dank’s are a lot more active on their Instagram account.

As with Exotic Carts, they have no official background what so ever. There are multiple Instagram accounts on Exotic Carts, but it’s difficult to tell which one is the official page. With that being said, we can’t tell yet how authentic and legit Exotic Carts really are.

Many fakes are being distributed for both cartridges

With many fake cartridges being sold in the counterfeit market, these two particular brands are popular among the cartridge industry. You can find both of these carts anywhere online. From Chinese manufacturers selling the packaging to pre-filled cartridges being sold through social media. All of this misfortune is leaving people unsure of these companies.

Even though Dank Vapes updated their packaging, the black market has already created duplicates of this packaging. Fake dank vapes are widely being sold in states that don’t sell recreational cannabis. At times it may even be difficult to identify fakes because of how identical they look to the real ones.

Regarding Exotic Carts, it is still unknown where to find information about their actual company. We can’t be sure how official these new packaging or cartridges are. What we do know is that there is a lot of fake Exotic Carts being distributed online as well.

Finishing off Dank Vapes vs Exotic Carts

Because of the lack of information and credibility on Exotic Carts, Dank’s in our experience is the preferable cartridge. Both may have uncertainty to them, but Dank Vapes are a bit more known and just a little more reputable.

Overall, neither companies are as trustworthy as I’d like them to be. Dank Vapes are better just because of preference, every flavor really does give that amazing of a taste. But with their lab tests showing negative and all these fakes, it’s hard to trust these cartridges. If both companies fix these set backs, they will become a lot more reputable and safer to vape. I know I would be picking up Dank Vapes more often. Dank Vapes is overall the winner between the two.

Cobra Extracts Cartridge Review: ELEV8 .5-Gram Carts

Cobra Extracts Cartridges & Battery
Several Strains Of Cobra Extracts Cartridges As Well As Their Battery

Flavorful honey gold oil that’s but not too high in THC percentage defines the Cobra Extracts cartridge experience. For those who appreciate a concentrate packed with true to strain flavors, these carts might be calling out your name. The psychoactive effects are strong, but the THC levels make them short lived. Read on and devour all there is to know about ELEV8, the new Cobra Extracts cartridge.

Pros:

  • Pure, Batch Tested Oil
  • Solventless CO2 Extraction Process
  • Aromatic & Strong “True To Strain” Flavors
  • Good Number Of Puffs
  • Big Vapor Clouds

Cons:

  • Average THC Content
  • Effects not long lasting

Recommendations: Their oil process seems awesome but higher levels of THC would be nice to see.

Licensing Information: Adult-Use Mfg. CDPH-T00001713 Distributor C11-18-0000340-TEMP Medical Mfg. CDPH-T00001713

The Cobra Extracts cartridge beats their crumble and shatter

After trying Cobra Extracts shatter and the crumble, their cartridge delivers the best experience. The rich flavor profiles come through stronger, as do the effects when you vape the oil. Using the latest CCELL vaping technology, the carts are efficient and long-lasting. We just wish the THC content was higher in the .5-gram ELEV8 cartridges and the effect lasted longer. For someone most concerned about flavor these are an excellent choice.

ELEV8 carts use a CCELL cartridge that is durable and reliable

When the oil in a CCELL cartridge is almost gone, the inner cloth wick can dry up. Continued use of the cartridge at this point can give off vapor with a burnt taste so always make sure to leave your cartridges standing up.

Cobra Extracts Cartridge Design
Cobra Extracts Cartridges Are Durable But Leave A Burnt Taste Near The End

Cobra Extracts cartridges can leave a strong burnt aftertaste if you vape them too low, but this can happen on almost any vape cartridge. They are, however, durable with a strong glass tube, smooth black ceramic mouthpiece, and hardy metal components. ELEV8 carts use the standard 510 threads that will fit most batteries.

The Cobra Extracts cartridge has a golden honey oil

Cobra Extracts compares their oil to the source of their own name, the King Cobra. Their oils have the same gold color and honey-like consistency as the venom of the well-known snake.

Cobra Extracts Cartridge Oil & Packaging
Cobra Extracts Carts Have Solid Packaging And Golden Honey Oil

Using their own twist on CO2 extraction, Cobra Extracts produces nothing but pure and solventless extracts. Their proprietary extraction process is also part of the reason the oils have so much flavor.

Cobra Extracts carts aren’t the most potent

The range of THC in Cobra Extracts cartridges isn’t weak, but neither is it packed with psychoactive compounds. It may be due to the delivery method, but the carts seem to have a stronger effect than the crumble and the shatter. It could also be that the strains of cartridges we tried are higher in THC. The cartridges do test pretty high though, between 82% and 93% THC.

Whatever the case, Cobra Extracts cartridges are not as potent as brands like Kurvana ASCND, Select Elite, or Heavy Hitters. They do give a nice euphoric effect and make up for any lack of THC in flavor. Many people are seeking a THC cartridge with not to strong effects that taste good, and this hits that sweet spot.

Cobra Extracts cartridge flavors will surprise you with excellent taste

Cobra Extracts Cartridge Strain
The Top Of Each Package Shows The Cartridge Strain

With several different strains to offer, the flavors in each Cobra Extracts cartridge will amaze you. It’s truly what sets them apart from other cartridges. Not every vape fan wants an extremely potent cartridge, but they all appreciate good taste.

Cobra Extracts was good enough to send us 6 different cartridge strains that you can see below. Each one is packed with true to strain flavor.

Big vapes won’t drain your cartridge down too fast

You can take a long, drawn-out hit off a Cobra Extracts cartridge and it won’t use up half the oil. You’ll get a huge cloud and really taste the flavor too. Average THC levels can mean an issue in efficiency for those who vape a lot of concentrates. You may go through it faster trying to sustain the effects, but the oil itself seems to vape slowly.

You get a better than average amount of puffs with a Cobra Extracts cartridge

One of the more positive features of the Cobra Extracts cartridge is the number of puffs they give. A half gram cart of the Cobra Extracts gives more puffs than brands like Jetty Extracts, Heavy Hitters, and THClear. It’s a trade-off here between carts with more THC or ones with more flavor and puffs.

Using the Cobra Extracts key chain battery

We like to test our cartridges using a premium battery and we prefer to use the Vessel battery since it is our top pick for use with THC cartridges. It’s not a bad idea, however, to use the battery that goes with the product if you can. In this case, Cobra Extracts makes a keychain flip battery that looks like the LoKey.

Cobra Extracts Cartridge Battery
The Cobra Extracts Keychain Battery Features Three Temperature Settings

Unlike the LoKey, the one by Cobra Extracts features three different temperature settings. Users can power the unit on or off with five clicks of the button, or switch temps with three clicks. The temperature settings are visible on the battery itself and go as follows:

  • Green – 3.7 Volts
  • Blue – 3.9 Volts
  • Gold – 4.1 Volts

At $30 a cart, the value is also better than average

I would prefer to see the Cobra Extracts cartridges in the 20-25 dollar range and in some dispensaries they may be. Still, $30 is lower than what many of the name brand companies are asking. If you see these carts for a deal or with bulk savings, it might be a good time to pick a few up.

The ELEV8 cartridge review roundup

Look for the Cobra Extracts .5-gram cartridges in the long slide out packages and bearing the name ELEV8. For those who aren’t as much concerned about high THC levels and want a bold flavor, these carts are a perfect fit. Whether you prefer a fruity Maui Wowie or a heavy Venom OG, there’s a strain of your preference.

Dankwoods: Makers of Cannabis Pre Rolls and Dank Vapes

5
Dankwoods

Dankwoods is a cannabis pre roll company who makes blunts using Backwoods cigars. The company is known to produce Dank Vapes, a widely distributed THC cartridge that has popped up in both legal and illegal states. In this article, we try to learn how Dankwoods started and what they are producing now.

Dankwoods: No known legit information

I’d like to start with the fact that there is very little known to zero information about this company. There is no contact information available, no identified persons on who’s leading and running their operations and no company address. Basically, they don’t have the things a legit company needs to have. Dankwoods makes blunts using Backwoods cigars and Dank Vapes.  Fake cartridges are plaguing the industry, and fake Dank Vapes are no exception. Nowadays, the term blunt is easily exchanged with pre roll and joint which are terms for marijuana cigars that are prepared and rolled before you buy them – in particular, a blunt is a hollowed-out cigar filled with marijuana. Dankwoods is not the first and only company to use Backwoods in making blunts. But why Backwoods?

Backwoods Smokes: The Cigar Brand

Backwoods is a cigar brand produced in the United States in the 1970s and gained popularity in 1980s. The cigar company became widely popular with the use of heavy advertising. Their advertisements targeted groups rather than the general public. These groups were mountaineers, outdoorsmen and those who enjoy extreme activities. I bet our OGs out there know this cigar. At present, flavors like Honey Berry, Sweet Aromatic and Rum are sold in the United States while Vanilla, Banana, and Grape among others have been discontinued but are still sold overseas.

Blunts make use of the cigar leaf and the most popular brands for blunts in addition to Backwoods are  Swisher Sweets, Dutch Masters, White Owls and Phillies. Blunt makers remove the tobacco contents and replace it with dried cannabis. Backwoods can be found for this purpose all over the place.

Backwoods: The cigar choice to make blunts

Over the past 3 years, blunts using Backwoods has become the connoisseur’s choice – making it the “Cuban Cigar” of the cannabis industry. Rumor has it that a Backwoods cigar can fit 3.5 grams of dried cannabis hence the term “roll me up an eighth” mainly because of its delicate thin leaf that allows more space. Consuming that much in one go is rather extraordinary.

Brands using Backwoods

Popular pre rolled Backwoods companies include Barewoods, Litwoods, Dankwoods and Packwoods. Barewoods was first to popularize Backwoods blunts in 2016. Litwoods followed the pre roll trend in January 2017 while Dankwoods, the most popular today started in 2018. Packwoods started last December 2018. Do you see anything in their names? Obviously they want to identify with the old guy brand – Backwoods.  But, that may not be the only reason.

Different pre roll companies are riding on the popularity of Backwoods Cigar.

Dankwoods similarities with Backwoods

Different pre roll companies are riding on the popularity of the iconic Backwoods Cigar. These companies including Dankwoods change the first syllable of the cigar brand and they get instant branding. Since Backwoods Smokes is a legit company these companies want to sound that they are legit as well. They have made Backwoods their blueprint – the cigar company’s logo, hip hop artist endorsements, hot female models and events (420, concert, sports, skating) sponsorship are copied to a tee.

It is easy for me to believe that Dankwoods is a black market company. With zero information available that is required from a legit cannabis company. All black market brands carry a greater risk of having pesticides or residual solvents present than brands where testing is required and the products are in legit dispensaries. For example, Dank Vapes which has been tested a number of times has failed testing. Barewoods has this pending US and Canadian trademark but not as a cannabis company – they filed in the category of “Clothing Products”. Litwoods is a skate team sponsored by Lit Brand and Packwoods, like Dankwoods have zero information with the former now concentrating on skate apparel.

Dankwoods may become legit some day

I’d like to remind the consumers recreational and medicinal users alike that health and safety should always be the first priority. The negative effects of pesticides and residual solvents are not certain, but at this point if you are in a legal state with legit brands available, those are your best choice.

Battery Troubleshooting: Fixing Flashing Light On Cartridge

20
vessel brand battery

Vape cartridges and batteries can both fail. Sometimes it’s just a bad point of contact and nothing is really broken. Here we go through the first thing to do when your battery is flashing on your vape cartridge and it seems to be broken.

This applies to threaded batteries that are not using a magnetic adapter. Here we specifically used the Vessel battery in our demonstration video below.

This same technique works on other batteries as well. A cart can be dead and a battery can fail, but try this before you start trying to figure out if something is broken. Another common fix on mod and wax pen batteries is adjusting the center pin.

Fake CCELL Cartridges : How To Tell If Your Cartridge is Authentic

161
fake ccell cartridges

CCELL cartridges have become the most known and used cartridge that many companies use to fill in their distillate. Because of this, manufacturers replicated this hardware and sell in bulk to people on the streets rather than licensed dispensaries.

Companies such as Roots Extracts use authentic CCELL’s. If you ever encounter any fake CCELL Cartridges, than the oil you are smoking might be unknown and harmful. Not to say that legit companies have not come up dirty in pesticide and solvent tests either. Here, we show how to identify and differentiate between authentic and fake CCELL cartridges.

Where are fake CCELL Cartridges even being sold?

Manufacturers are creating identical duplicates and not only selling them empty, but also with fake branded cartridges. Distributors sell these cartridges anywhere online, allowing people to fill it up with untested and skeptical distillate. Although sometimes it may be hard to tell, some cartridges may look exactly the same as the legit ones.

But don’t be fooled, some of these identifiers are very small and subtle to tell. It took a while to identify, but after countless cartridges, we were finally able to tell them apart. Remember, even the tiniest detail can tell apart from all of these fakes and real carts.

Before we identify these counterfeits, here’s a list of brands that have been thought to use CCELL Cartridges:

These are just a few companies, as we find more we’ll keep updating this list.

How to identify fake CCELL Cartridges

They should have all three stamps engraved on the bottom of the cartridge

authentic ccell cartridges
Authentic CCELL cartridges should always have these three stamps engraved to them.
ccell cartridges
As for their most recent production line, these CCELL Cartridges that say “Jupiter” also are authentic.

Each cartridge has three unique stamps engraved on the bottom of it. A CCELL logo or Jupiter, a K stamp and a serial number as well. None of these three should be missing nor misplaced. Furthermore, this engraved stamp should not look oddly huge or have a light color. If you see that your stamp has a different font size or style than the original carts, it’s probably a fake CCELL. As with the serial number, it may start with a variety of letters (CA, M,L). This is very important as to authenticate which lot the actual CCELL’s were actually manufactured.

Fonts should not be different size, color or misplaced at all

fake ccell cartrieges
Fonts should not differ in style compared to legit CCELL’s

As mentioned earlier, none of these stamps should look different than the authentic itself. The stamps should never be a sticker, always engraved. Also legit ones should not have a white plastic circle underneath the cartridge.

fake ccell cartridges
@Dankvapesofficialaccount found a fake CCELL cartridge with dramatically bright font colors.

The length of this cartridge should not be to different sized than the original

fake ccell cartridges
If you have a real CCELL cartridge, than just compare it with the length size.

This may be a bit hard to tell if you don’t have an original cartridge side by side. But something I noticed is that with these fake CCELL cartridges, they are either too wide or too thin. Every single authentic CCELL I had lined up were the same length as each other. Whereas, all the fake ones had odd and different size in length.

Fake CCELL Cartridges use weak atomizers

fake ccell cartridges
Although it didn’t drawback any oil, it would still hit light and weak. Also no authentic CCELL has ever done this with the mouthpiece in my experience.

Again, this will be difficult to tell for many people, but these fake cartridges do contain a weak atomizer. I didn’t even realize at first, but every hit I took would always be weak and light. I also noticed that it would collect reclaim inside the mouth piece itself. Which is strange, because every authentic cartridge I would get never did this nor give too light of a hit.

Not only that, but authentic carts have a total of 6 inlet holes on the cartridge itself. This is for the airflow, which is why these carts are unique and used often. Taking a closer look, you can see 4 of them at the base of the airway. The other 2 holes on the bottom of the cartridge on the 510 thread itself.

real ccell cartridges
If there’s 3 or over 4 inlet holes inside the cartridge it’s probably a fake CCELL cart.

Mouth piece is compressed on plastic top carts, screw on with ceramic top carts

Plastic top CCELL cartridges have the mouth piece compressed on. Every time I picked up a Dank Vapes cartridge, they would never have screw on mouth piece, always sealed. I’ve pulled off the mouth piece multiple times with legit ones, and only did so successfully using pliers. There was a time where the mouth piece came off easily, but it turned out to be on a Dank Vapes cartridge. Shown below is a fake disarmed, this is the one where I pulled the mouth piece off with ease.

fake ccell cartridges
Something strange I noticed when disarming this fake is how the metal part detached from the mouth piece. Every authentic CCELL never did that when I disarmed it.

Unique silicone rings inside the cartridge

If the mouth piece is removable, you’ll be able to see 3 silicone rings on the bottom of the mouthpiece, the top of the airway and the bottom of the airway within the cartridge. If you ever see two or more silicones in an area that should only have one, it may be a fake.

As for the mouthpieces that don’t come off, you’ll be able to see a clear silicone ring on the bottom of the cartridge itself. This is shown underneath when you flip the cartridge upside down.

Cartridges should not come damaged or malfunctioning

fake ccell cartridges damaged
This one cartridge I picked up came in cracked, before I even took it out of the package.

It should be noted that this cartridge should never come cracked, leaking or damaged what so ever. It’s one thing if you drop and crack it. But if it already comes like that and has one or more indicators of it being fake, than you should watch for it. Of course this may be an accident on shipping or the companies that use them. Leaking is another sign of a fake CCELL, these cartridges are built to not really be leaking, but occasionally it can happen. Failures are also not common for real CCELL carts. If you have a lot of carts getting failures that look like they are CCELLs, more likely they are fake than real.

ccell cartridge
Always watch if your cart contains this plastic white cover before opening and consuming.

Apart from this, each cartridge should have the bottom plastic cover on it, like the cartridge shown above. Furthermore, this also may be at fault of the companies end again if it’s not on. But in my experience, I’ve never received a CCELL or any cart for that matter without this plastic cover.

UPDATE 12/12/19 : Canna Brand packaging

Canna Brand Solutions is an authorized distributor of CCELL vaporization technologies, which places a mark like the following to verify legit CCELL-using carts:

Canna Brands mark on CCELL

Before vaping any cart, refer to this and make sure your cart is legit

There are too many fake CCELL cartridges and overall fake brands selling low quality oil. These fakes, contaminated with dozens of pesticides are having people distrust and sketched out about consuming cartridges. With the way the cannabis industry is moving, cartridges are becoming more and more known and popular. These carts aren’t suppose to be suspicious to smoke like many fear. As always make sure your products are coming from a licensed dispensary or a reliable source.

Vessel Battery Review : Currently The Best Battery For Cartridges

vessel battery review

The Vessel battery is an upcoming brand that is dominating the vape industry, specifically targeting cartridges. Although the CCELL Silo and Palm were our original recommendations as the best with CCELL cartridges, the Vessel is better. This advanced and sleek pen is compatible with any sort of 510 threaded cartridges, and used only for cartridges. It does have a high price tag, but the performance is currently unmatched and that’s why it tops our list of the best batteries for cartridges of 2020.

Pros:

  • Long lasting battery
  • Very sleek and smooth design
  • Amazing airflow and intake
  • Perfect with CCELL cartridges
  • Newer design now allows for larger vape cartridges

Cons:

  • The price of it
  • Uses a specific charger

Recommendations: The price could be lower, but with the coupon code for 30% off it is definitely worth it.

Update 3/12/2020: The Vessel Battery’s top has been widened to now fit even more cartridge styles.

The most smooth, sleek and discrete design in a cartridge battery

vessel battery inside of package
The Vessel comes with a magnetic charger and a prop used for the cartridge.

The Vessel battery really did an amazing job with the design and the comfort of this pen. Although we’ve said this about many vape pens throughout DabConnection, this pen by far has the be the smoothest and sleekest design we’ve tried yet. This particular battery is the Vessel Wood Series: Slate/Walnut. This company manufactures their product through Shenzhen, China. Furthermore, they use real walnut wood and anodized aluminum.

As simple as you can ask for

vessel battery packaging
The Vessel provides ease of use with its simplicity.

Unboxing the Vessel at first had me confuse because of how simple this pen really is. Like any pen, 5 buttons to turn on and 3 buttons to change the modes. The Vessel has 3 LED lights that tell you the life battery and power settings. Having three different voltage settings, from low to high (Low 2.8V, Medium 3.2V, High 3.6V) this battery hits smooth regardless which mode.

Compatible with any 510 threaded cartridges, but works best with CCELL cartridges

As mentioned in the beginning, this pen has to be the best battery for CCELL cartridges. This is a great thing, since many companies and manufacturers use this kind of cartridge hardware for their distillate. But as long as your cartridge is 510 threaded, it should fit this pen perfectly.

vessel battery built design
This battery will last weeks before every dying out on you.

The best air inflow out there, enhancing the taste and quality of each hit

So the top part screw on, also known as the ‘transition module’ is what really enhances its air intake performance. When placed, the airflow goes so easily, you won’t even realize that you’re vaping anything at all. I actually believe it to enhance the taste with this as well.

Recently, Vessel updated the battery top so it fits more cartridges than before. Even though it can fit many sized cartridges, after a certain amount of length-size, it won’t fit the transition module piece.

vessel battery build design
After a certain size, the top piece named ‘transition module’ won’t fit your particular cartridge, giving less airflow performance. This applies to very little cartridges now, as Vessel has widened the top.

The Vessel battery is long lasting and indicates its percentage

Another main feature that Vessel prides themselves is the life of its battery. It comes with a rechargeable battery of 240mAh and a magnetic charger. They claim to last up to 1-2 weeks without charging, and that has to be an accurate statement! This battery lasted me over a week in a half, which is great with the way I smoke.

Without a doubt, this pen is durable, but the down side is that it may take some time to charge. I can see obviously why this is and it can be inconvenient at times. Despite that, you can check the battery level with the three light indicators that it shows.

Another feature that this battery has is that it automatically turns off after 15 minutes of use. At first, I didn’t like this idea because of having to turn it on every time I use it. But this definitely helps make the battery last longer.

Bottom piece built specifically if you drop your battery

So far, I’ve only dropped my Vessel battery once, and noticed the pen can withstand slight impact. I did get a very small scratch on the bottom, but that’s about it. Also, this bottom screw on is made for the purpose if you were to dent the piece through heavy impact. If this were to happen, simply take off the and the charger will fit perfectly again.

Vessel’s new BASE charging station improves efficiency, makes use easier

vessel base

Vessel recently came out with the BASE charging station pictured above. It keeps carts upright while charging, so you can get going right away. Some have complained that the Vessel is only 280maH, but it should be noted it charges very fast. Keep it on the base and you are ready to go all the time. See our full Vessel BASE charger review for more info.

Hits are smooth, vaporizing your oil for more optimal smoke

The design and battery of the Vessel gives more soothing hits than it does stronger. The smoke and hits aren’t as dense nor strong as I’d like them to be personally. But this may be a good thing because this pen only leaves a slight scent, making it more discrete. Either way, every hit that you take will always be pleasant.

CCELL battery vs Vessel battery

ccell battery and vessel battery
The Vessel performs better than the CCELL batteries, but the price between them are substantially different.

Although CCELL batteries are made optimally for CCELL cartridges, the Vessel actually performs better than the other two batteries. The air flow is too smooth with the Vessel and the design gives it a lot more comfort and discreteness. The only thing about them is the price. CCELL batteries go for about $25, which is only 1/4 of the price of the Vessel battery.

The cost may be pricey, is it really worth it?

It honestly all depends on your needs and personal preference. The price is $99, which is pricey compared to many cheaper vape pens out there. If you smoke cartridges on a consistent, day to day basis than I highly recommend you to try this battery! But if you only smoke cartridges occasionally and prefer grass and straight dabs, you may want to think twice about it.

Vessel provides payment options and a coupon code

Something pretty neat that Vessel offers is the option to pay for this battery in separate payment plans. Because of the high price, they give you the option to pay for this battery in 4 payments of $25. The best part is they don’t charge any sort of interest fee during this process. Apart from this, they also have a year warranty, if something were to happen to it, it can be replaced. There’s also the coupon code REDDIT30 that takes 30% off the top, greatly adding to the value.

To conclude, the Vessel battery has to be the best vape pen out there

Having tried dozens of different vape pens, the Vessel outperforms every one out there. From the design to the way it hits, this battery can be worth the price for it. The air intake it gives really does make a difference with every cartridge, enhancing the taste and way it hits. You can find more information on the Vessel battery here. The best coupon code we could find for the Vessel battery is REDDIT30 which takes 30% off the total price!

Dank Vapes : What’s Their Real Background and Are They Reliable?

104
dank vapes

dddfWith so much controversy about the company, Dank Vapes are becoming very known and susceptible to the cartridge industry. Having people either loving the cartridge or skeptical about it, leaving inconsistent satisfaction to the consumers. Here, we gather all the information we can find about Dank Vapes and describe what to watch for.

This popular company is owned by DankWoods, or at least that’s what their Instagram account claimed to say. Because of the lack of information out, there really isn’t telling how reliable this company really is. Despite how good each flavor taste, Dank Vapes have been suspicious because of how many fakes are out. This issue has been hurting their company negatively, loosing credibility and trustworthy.

Dank Vapes are on the rise, building awareness to their company

dank vapes flavors
Each flavor that we’ve tried tasted amazing, giving a strong and accurate taste to each strain.

First, Dank Vapes have been around for a few years, but they started becoming recognized more often sometime in 2018. Dank’s became so popular, it started going around states that don’t sell for recreational purposes, having people love these cartridges.

The black market started disrupting the industry, selling fakes that look identical to real cartridges

fake dank vapes
Fake packaging started selling like crazy, allowing people to put whatever kind of oil they’d want.

Because of this, the black market started to take advantage of this opportunity and decided to fulfill these orders themselves. Chinese manufacturers sell packaging in bulk for the purpose of being refilled with any kind of oil people please. This causes many fake vendors to sell these Dank Vapes with unknown distillate, possibly containing harmful pesticides and artificial flavors.

This is very unfortunate, for we did personally believe for these Dank Vapes to taste amazing! In our old Dank Vapes review, it really did show to give an amazing high and very savory cartridges. Although we did love them, our analysis has to go against their reliability.

Dank Vapes contained pesticides either way

Hearing about this at first did surprise me and lowered their credibility. They’ve failed multiple times in lab tests, containing several types of pesticides. Also, they ranked as low as 65% THC.  Shown below are their most recent lab results;

dank vape lab test results
Dank tested positive in at least 5 types of pesticides on this test.
dank vapes thc
Test results came in at 65% total THC, showing no foreign materials, pests, mold or fungus for Dank Vapes.

Counterfeits has caused them to update their packaging

real dank vapes
These packaged are Dank Vapes most recent update. You can notice the big difference with their hologram package.
dank vapes packaging
With the new Dank Vape cartridges, each strain comes in a different color in the label and strain.

Because of how fake cartridges are negatively affecting brands, Dank Vapes decided to act quick on this dilemma. As of January 2019, they decided to change their packaging into a darker look to prevent fakes being sold. In our updated Dank Vapes review, we tell the difference between the old and new packaging. Overall, there was no major difference other than the packaging itself. As always, they had an amazing taste to them and a satisfying high.

This is a great opportunity for them to update their lab results. With new packaging, I’d hope for these Dank Vapes to contain no sort of pesticide. Better yet, contain a lot more than just 65% THC. Hopefully they decide to take action on this too, I just hope it’s sooner than later.

The black market caught on and started selling replicas

dank vapes packaging
With the black market catching on, people are selling these packages online and through several platforms.

This new packaging turned to be a great quick fix, but than have been replicated and started selling again. It’s crazy how little time the counterfeit market took to create these identical replicas. That I remember, it took them only 2 weeks to figure out their new packaging once it was released. This is very unfortunate, because of how much I actually liked smoking each new Dank Vapes flavor.

In addition, counterfeit Dank Vapes people started selling these fake carts through various social media accounts. Providing their email, Skype or phone number and selling unknown oil to anyone willing to purchase them.

Because of this situation, their credibility has become more and more suspicious and susceptible. Many people are questioning their authenticity, wondering if they are even worth smoking. Well from our experience, no matter how much we love them, we can’t fully trust on these cartridges yet.

We have encountered fake Dank Vapes

I picked up a batch of Dank Vapes and they turned to be one of the nastiest tasting cartridges that we’ve tried yet in DabConnection. Tasting like metal and nothing like Dank Vapes, these fake cartridges were leaking from the bottom and all tasted similar. I should also mention the terrible oil quality, having a dark color with thin oil density.

How to tell apart from real and fake Dank Vapes

fake dank vapes
Dank Vapes always have a holographic package in each strain and use authentic CCELL cartridges.

There are many minor factors that come in play when it comes to identifying fake Dank Vapes. First off, from now on they should be the black packaging. Receiving an old package can either mean the company wants to get rid of it still, or it’s fake. Ever since the change, they’ve only been promoting this packaging on their Instagram and stopped posting about the old packaging.

Something that Dank Vapes prides themselves the most is their taste. You should know if your Dank is legit when it taste’s identical, if not better than whatever strain you have. If it’s too light of a taste or a harsh, metal taste, than they might be pre-filled with artificial flavors.

Other minor factors to watch for is obviously misspelling. Second, the packaging should say DankVapesOfficialAccount (their official Instagram). Third, the packaging should always be holographic. Every strain, from the old to the new packaging, will always be holographic on each logo/image.

Check if the CCELL cartridges are authentic or not

This is another great way to check if your Dank Vapes, or any cartridge that uses CCELL is legit. This brand uses authentic CCELL cartridges, and if yours isn’t an actual CCELL, then it probably us fake. Even the littlest things can differentiate the differences between each other.

CCELL carts have three different stamps on them

Each cartridge has three unique stamps engraved on the bottom of it. A CCELL logo, a K stamp and a CA serial number as well. None of these three should be missing nor misplaced. Furthermore, this engraved stamp should not look oddly huge or have a light color. If you see that your stamp has a different font size or style than the original carts, it might not be authentic. Shown below will tell you the difference between real and fake CCELL’s.

fake dank vapes
If you have a real CCELL cartridge, than just compare it with the length size.
fake dank vapes
Also always check for stamps and other odd features on the bottom.

Will Dank Vapes solve these issues and become more reputable?

This is a question yet to be answered, there still are many questions unanswered and only they know. Genuine Dank Vapes are amazing, and everything about the taste makes me want to try every flavor. But because of the amount of fakes out, it can be hard to tell them apart sometimes. Perhaps these fakes can contain dozens of more pesticides. Regardless, they still failed in various pesticides and lacked strength potency.

I really do hope for this company to solve all of these problems to increase their credibility. Trust me, these cartridges taste great! Every flavor really does exceed your expectation. The only thing is that I’d like to know if they are clean and pesticide free.

There are countless negative stories on Dank Vapes where people get in contact with fake cartridges. Containing terrible oil and tasting either like heavy chemicals or metal, getting people dissatisfied with this brand. Some people will even claim to get headaches from this cartridge. It should be noted that this is not Dank’s fault, for it’s whatever your seller substituted in that distillate. This seller could’ve easily put this oil in a different fake cartridge.

To sum up, we hope Dank Vapes to return stronger than ever

Dank Vapes were fast to react to their last counterfeit situation. Now they have to stay consistent with building their brand reputation. As of now, what they’re doing is calling out people selling fake cartridges through their Instagram. If you ever encounter people selling fakes, you can just notify them and they will take care of the rest.

In the meantime, I personally won’t be picking these up until I know they are authentic or not. I really do believe all of these problems really will go away one marijuana becomes recreational in most states. Than, all this will become irrelevant, having trademarks and more lab results. Meanwhile, I recommend you as always to pick up from a licensed dispensary or a reliable source. If anything, we prefer you to pick up other reliable brands, for instance Select Oil or Stiiizy Pods.

Jetty Extracts Cartridge Review: A Potent & Golden Goodie

Jetty Extracts cartridge
The Jetty Extracts Gold Maui Wowie .5-gram cartridge

DabConnection is happy to bring you another new brand to our growing list of cartridge reviews. This time it’s Jetty Extracts Gold under the spotlight and the Sativa dominant Maui Wowie. Coming from the licensed Mankind dispensary in San Diego, quality assurance is what we’re after. Take a walk out onto the Jetty in the following Jetty Extracts cartridge review and see why it made our best vape cartridges in California list.

Pros:

  • High Potency
  • Robust Flavor
  • Durable & Comfortable Cartridge Design
  • High-Quality Concentrate
  • Tested Clean in an Independent Test

Cons:

  • High Price Tag
  • Light On Number Of Puffs
  • No Visible Proof Of Purity On Package For Each Unit
  • Weak Safety Seal

Recommendations: We love the new CCELL cartridge design over the old wick style. The oil vapes up faster than other similar brands.  It would be best if Jetty makes obvious the lab doing the testing and includes the information on each cartridge. They have tested clean though when independently tested.

Jetty Extracts improves & offers a superb cartridge

Jetty Extracts Logo
The Jetty Extracts Logo

I remember Jetty Extracts cartridges from a few years back. These days, they no longer use the wick draw system of old but the preferred c-cell design. It’s the slim style that doesn’t come to close to the outer glass. At the base are four evenly spaced absorption holes. Their positioning at the very bottom ensures very little oil residue left over.

One thing I do not remember from the old style cartridges is such fantastic flavor and potency. It’s possible that my memory is just fading, but the Jetty Extracts Gold cartridges seem much better in this regard. Despite a few issues with packaging and labeling, these are fine cartridges indeed.

The Jetty Extracts Gold Maui Wowie is full of flavor & true to strain

With all the different cross-breeds of Maui Wowie, we can only say that the flavor hits home. Tropical reminiscents of Hawaii burst over your palate with hints of citrus, earth, and pineapple. Jetty Extracts Gold Maui Wowie is strong and it doesn’t take much of a vape to enjoy the full flavor.

Jetty Extracts Gold Maui Wowie packs a potent punch at 88.36% THC

The potency of the Jetty Extracts Maui Wowie is up there and effects set in fast. Energy and a positive vibe result after a single draw from this cartridge. Like other premium carts, the packaging provides percentages as well as levels by mg. The .5-gram Maui Wowie cart has 441.8 mg of THC and no CBD.

Jetty carts are durable and include a comfortable wooden mouthpiece

Jetty Extracts Gold cartridges start with the usual 510 threads at the bottom. Above that is their seagull logo with a green border that covers the ignition system. Next is a strong glass tube with the ceramic center and metal drawtube inside. Above the glass tube is a metal ring and then a smooth wooden mouthpiece. The mouthpiece does not unscrew making the cart non-refillable.

Carts come with a tamper-proof seal

Jetty Extract Gold cartridges use a sticker as a tamper-proof seal which isn’t that sticky. It would be easy to peel it off and get to the cart inside, then reapply it later. The package is a cylinder that you twist and lift to open. A small gunny sack with drawstrings on the inside holds the actual cartridge.

Jetty Extracts Gold Carts provide a batch #, but no lab to verify with

Jetty Extracts Gold Label
Notice The Batch Number Plus Manufacturing, Packaged On, & Best By Dates

Nowhere on the packaging or on the company website does it show the lab that does the testing. Since there is a batch number, you would assume that means you can check the results of testing. I have an email out and will update the post with their answer. Besides a batch #, Jetty Extracts shows the manufacturing, packaging, and best by dates.

$35.00 for a .5-gram cartridge at a licensed CA dispensary isn’t bad

It sure would be nice to see that price drop lower, especially considering the $35.00 is before taxes. That’s right. In a licensed CA dispensary you have to pay taxes, and you won’t get out of any of them unless you have an MMID card. Still. a lot of .5-gram carts are even more in licensed California dispensaries.

Take the Honey Vape Green Crack or the Sunday Goods Trainwreck over at MedMen in nearby Kearny Mesa. Both .5g cartridges, the Honey Vape costs $40.00 and Sunday Goods $45.00. When you save 5 to 10 bucks and are able to take advantage of discounts as well, it makes a big difference.

Number of puffs is just a little light

It’s interesting because at the time of testing I had two other .5-gram carts to compare with the Jetty Extracts Gold. There wasn’t a huge disparity in how fast the oil receded, but just enough to notice. I love the Maui Wowie and I really wish this cartridge would last a little longer.

Large vapes are easy but they may hurt

For those who like lung bursting vapes, this is a go-to cartridge. Not only is it potent, but it expands quickly inside the lungs. Those terpenes will hit you and if you’re not careful, you’ll find yourself coughing up a huge storm. You can check that video if you haven’t already and see the vape it gives!

End of the rocks on the Jetty Extracts Gold cartridge

Flaws in the Jetty Extract Gold cartridge have nothing to do with design, flavor, or potency. They have more to do with the packaging and how information is presented. It’ll be interesting to hear what Jetty Extracts has to say about lab analysis, and we will update as soon as they answer back. Assuming the lab tests are clear, they make an incredible vaping experience.

New Dank Vapes Review : Updated Packaging But What’s The Difference?

dank vapes review

With Dank Vapes officially claiming their new packaging, they have become a popular phenomenon and contradiction. Because of how much we enjoyed them, we picked up Sunset Sherbet, a hybrid that is rich in taste. We have previously reviewed Dank Vapes and always love the taste in terpenes in them, however we aren’t sure how safe or legit the oil is.

Pros:

  • Brand new packaging
  • Amazing taste
  • Pleasurable and lasting high
  • High quality hardware

Cons:

  • Their last lab tests show pesticides (before new packaging)
  • Fakes have already been replicated

Recommendations: Make cartridges that pass lab tests.

See our video review below and keep reading on for the more in depth review on the new Dank Vapes cartridges.

With many counterfeits, Dank Vapes updated the look of their packaging

dank vapes packaging
With the new Dank Vape cartridges, they come with a holographic design in all flavors.

Because of how popular Dank Vapes are becoming, many vendors are selling fake Dank Vapes, containing harmful pesticides and artificial flavors. Fake cartridges are everywhere these days. Because of this, they came out with a newer and fresher look to their packaging. These new packaging contain a little extra distillateboosting it up from a gram to 1.1 grams.

Something about these cartridges is each flavor has a unique color to its name. Most packages say they’re above 90% THC, have a brief description on the strain and claim to contain no propylene glycol. High THC claims should be taken with a grain of salt without a lab report to back it up. Dank Vapes has tested lower than they claim before.

Each flavor displays a different, holographic color.

Hopefully new lab test results will come with their new packaging

As shown below, these are their most recent lab results that they have out. Because these tests are from December of 2018, test results may be different with their updated packaging. Unfortunately Dank’s have come out with negative test results in the past various times, making it a bit suspicious to consume. Aside of that, hopefully they come out stronger and cleaner than ever with these updated packages.

dank vapes thc
Test results came in at 65% total THC, showing no foreign materials, pests, mold or fungus for Dank Vapes.

Dank tested positive in at least 5 types of pesticides on this test.

Sunset Sherbet gives a great feeling of euphoria with a sweet, light taste to it

dank vapes sunset sherbert
This hybrid strain gives an amazing high, with a dominant strain of GSC.

From the taste to the high, this strain settles in very smoothly yet powerful. Dank Vapes Sunset Sherbet is a rich hybrid that really does provide a carefree high and a mellow mindset. Additionally, this strain provides a great combination of relaxation, yet a slight boost of energy. The hits as always are smooth and tasteful, giving sweet, fruity and light hits. I personally liked the light taste a lot, unlike when cartridges taste strong and much like artificial flavors and chemicals.

With the older Dank Vapes review, one of the flavored strains that we tried was Fruity Pebbles. Although this strain tasted identical to the cereal itself, I thought it tasted too similar and felt suspicious smoking it. This unfortunately has become a problem for this brand and I’m not the first to experience this dilemma. I haven’t encountered any skeptical tasting Dank’s with this new packaging yet and hope not too anytime in the future.

Dank Vapes contains thin oil, yet heavy hits

Hopefully the oil in the distillate has been updated as well as their packaging. As shown in their lab test results, their last tests do sadly show a low of 65% THC. With that being said, the oil is fairly thin and does have a strong gold color to it.

dank vapes oil
The oil may be thin, but the air bubble does move somewhat slow.

Even though the oil may not seem as thick as I’d like it to be, don’t let that fool you. You may not feel it right away or at the moment, but the high settles in nice and gentle. Because of this, it’s easy to get baked without even realizing in just a few hits (which could be a great thing for you). In general, it did take me around 5 hits to even feel anything at all. But once I did, it was all I needed to stay productive and enjoy my high.

Hits tasted gentle and light, with a citrusy and berry like flavor

Something that Dank Vape’s have always been known for is their flavor. Regardless of what strain you get, I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed with the taste of it. Usually, most flavors give a strong taste but with this strain, it was kind of light and satisfying when hitting it. Furthermore, this brand really is great when it comes to mixing their terpenes in each flavored distillate.

The CCELL cartridge hardware remained the same

With the cartridge itself, there has been no change to it. The only thing is that they mentioned in their packaging the cartridges they use are official CCELL carts. As usual, these carts hit smoothly, easy and gave thick smoke.

Personally went through it sooner than expected

Because of how smooth and savory Dank Vapes are, I tend to go through these cartridge within a few days. This situation may not apply to you, for the distillate may last a while depending on how often you smoke. But for all you dab fanatics, this cartridge does smoke through considerably fast.

The black market has already caught on,  selling replicas

dank vapes packaging
People are buying packages in bulk and selling them with what ever oil they’d like.

Not even within a month and they have already found a way to replicate these new packages. Because of how quick this happened, there is no telling how to identify fakes yet. Dank Vapes were fast to react when this first happened to them with their old packaging. I hope they are quick to resolve this problem.

Overall, I still believe Dank Vapes to give a great high and savory taste to it

dank vapes review
Dank Vapes will always give amazing taste and high, apart from their lab results.

Despite of all the negative traits, these cartridges will always surprise me with its high, especially its taste. Only thing is, if they come out with new positive lab tests to back them up, they’ll become more trustworthy. Once they solve these issues that are hurting their brand, they will increase so much of their reputation. I can tell you that I will definitely be purchasing their new flavors more often when they do.

I should also mention that on their official Instagram account, they do call out accounts selling fake cartridges! Seeing them putting efforts to become more reputable is great and helps re-build their credibility.

I personally believe to see all of these problems and dilemmas to go away within the next couple years, hopefully. Until then, we can’t put a whole lot of value just because we aren’t too sure what exactly we’re consuming. When purchasing Dank Vapes, we always recommend to purchase your cartridges through licensed dispensaries or a reliable source.

Fake Cartridges Are Negatively Impacting The Cannabis Industry

48
fake cartridges

Fake cartridges are becoming more and popular, causing skepticism in various companies. To begin, the cannabis industry has been around for years, allowing legal experimenting and tests on cannabis and its properties. Terpenes and concentrates have been around for over 5 decades, but as technology advances so does the quality. With many ways to consume concentrate, vaporizing with oil cartridges seems to be one of the most popular trend.

Vape cartridges, also sometimes referred to as vape pens or wax pens, is becoming very popular because of its convenience and efficiency. Concentrates smoked through carts make life easier since there’s no packing dabs, also the discretion is just a plus. Making it less harsh to smoke, cartridges are becoming high on demand in the cannabis market. Although this is great for people who like smoking discretely, the black market is selling an abundance of fake cartridges. Because of this reason, many people are becoming skeptical, causing a negative impact for cannabis companies and dispensaries.

What even are cartridges and are they safe?

First off, cartridges have been around for about a decade in the vape industry, but only for vape juice. Because modern technology has advanced, thick oils have been made easier to consume cartridges. Before ceramic CCELL coils were used and discovered, tinctures were prepared in a unique way. This allows people to vaporize concentrate easily.

Cartridges used by companies are mainly distillates and terpenes, or even concentrates combined together to their own unique taste. Each brand uses their choice of oil, and unless its lab tested there’s no telling the quality of the product. This has been disrupting the cannabis industry, especially since there is no official regulations. In addition, companies have issues suing other manufacturers that distribute bad oil since it’s still a federally illegal product.

Update 12/17/2019: Muha Meds is currently pursuing licensing this page will be further updated by 12/18/2019 with more information.

A list of all known fake cartridge brands so far

This includes all known fake brands, street brands, counterfeits, and black market brands. We’ll update this list as more are discovered.

distillate of cartridge
Companies will mix the concentrate properly to fill up the cartridge itself.

Preparation of Cartridges

To break it down in simpler words, companies take distillate and add their own flavors (terpenes), then fill up cartridges. Distillate is just a type concentrates extracted from all properties, making it solvent free through a simple distillation process. Left often with over 90% raw THC, the distillate is than ready to be mixed with terpene of choice.

Tinctures were prepared to fill up regular vape cartridges before the distillation process of any concentrate was discovered. Medical grade propylene glycol and vegetable glycerine are often used as base additives. Even though they were intended for vape juice. The vape cartridge (tank) is than filled up with the new mixed together juice. With all of the bunk carts that are going around, this method is most likely used with many counterfeits.

Fake cartridges and the black market

With the rise and popularity of these cartridges, merchants seek opportunities in making money by selling counterfeit products. This means there is no telling what exactly you are vaping anymore if you aren’t purchasing from legitimate dispensaries. High demands for carts causes sources on the counterfeit market to sell faster, meaning many carts out there are probably illegitimate.

The popularity of vape cartridges makes it easier for vendors to sell fake carts to people living in illegal states. Vendors distribute oils in packages that the counterfeit market provides, leaving consumers clueless. Usually, you will never know what you’re vaping if the packaging is either not official or even existent. Most official companies usually have lab tested product, but the black market always seems to produce amazing fakes. Even real carts have still had pesticide and residual solvent issues though.

fake stiiizy carts
With similar packaging, some of these fake cartridges will be more difficult to identify than others.

Well known packaging massively sold by Chinese manufacturers

Companies from overseas are manufacturing empty cartridges in bulk with unofficial “official” branded casings . Popular branded companies, like Brass Knuckles, Dank Vapes, and dozens more are being listed as copyrighted and distributed as legit.

Although some companies make it easier to distinguish fake cartridges to an authentic ones, this has become very problematic. Ruining the reputation and reliability of the company and unsure if any if the oil is safe what so ever. These companies may consistently update their packaging for this reason, but Chinese manufacturers catch up and replicate the new packaging.

spotting fake 710 king pens
With many attempts to upgrade style of packaging, manufacturers figure it out quickly.

Once the cartridges are sold they get shipped, allowing vendors to fill up the cartridge with their own distillate. Unreliable carts will always rise suspicious, making people unsure. Besides this, counterfeits are negatively impacting the reputation of these cartridges.

De-branding big branded companies

As cartridges are keep getting more popular, more fakes are keep on selling in the black market. Until cannabis becomes legal and recreational for the public to smoke, fake vendors will not stop selling to consumers. Counterfeits flood streets everywhere and the manufactures only seem to get better at making the packaging look legit. The only way to tell if your cartridge is 100% legit is to buy it from an authorized reseller of that brand.

Social media has become a platform to sell fake vape cartridges

Yes, you did read that right, and you may even be wondering, how may this be possible? Although social media platforms are very strict with the content you post, this doesn’t stop vendors from promoting their products. Eventually, these platforms do catch on and will either delete the content or even their page. But merchants will keep creating profiles to put in their contact information, selling and shipping these fake cartridges.

Some of these companies aren’t even official cartridges, rather just packages of ‘brands’ created by Chinese manufacturers

Whereas most companies provide information about their products online, some of these companies aren’t authentic what so ever. Furthermore, some of theses fake cartridges are just manufacturers, selling cartridges for the purpose of filling them with distillate. Unfortunately there is no telling if they’re official or not due to the lack of data given.

exotic carts flavors
With the low amount of data about some of these companies, it is unsure how authentic these cartridges really are.

Companies and DabConnection are taking action in regards to these fake cartridges

Despite replicas being sold in the black market, these branded companies are taking extra measures to prevent from this happening. They’ll do so by sharing information on their social platforms, explaining how to tell apart fakes carts from legit ones. Below are our insights into fake cartridges as well as links to our pages that explain fakes for particular brands more in depth.

Fake Brass Knuckles cartridges

One of the easiest ways to identify fake Brass Knuckles is real Brass Knuckles have a hologram on the side. Most fake Brass Knuckles cartridges do not. This is the first thing to look for and if there is no hologram you instantly know you have a fake.

brass knuckles fake vs real
The lack of a hologram is the easiest way to identify Fake Brass Knuckles cartridges.

Another way to differentiate the real ones is to check for misspelling and misinformation on the bottom of the Packaging. Apart from the lettering being word correctly, real Brass Knuckles have strain information on the bottom. When that information is lacking, you can be sure it is a fake cartridge.

Real Brass Knuckles regardless were having issues with their cartridges

It should be noted that even with the authentic Brass Knuckles, they also are facing a couple of problems. Most recently they have tested clean based on tests they have provided. However, it is hard to trust them after multiple failures for pesticides. There is even a lawsuit against Brass Knuckles currently ongoing for somebody that got sick from their cart. See our vape pen pesticides and solvents test page for Brass Knuckles testing information, current and past.

Fake Heavy Hitters cartridges

With fake Brass Knuckles carts we can tell by a myriad of errors in design. Fake Heavy Hitters vape cartridges look very identical. The great thing that Heavy Hitters does (that Brass Knuckles does not) is provide a list of authorized retailers. Buying from authorized retailers is the only way to guarantee it is an authentic cartridge. The most common place to find these fake vape cartridges is in states where cannabis is illegal. Another thing is that they have tested dirty once again, containing harmful pesticides.
fake heavy hitters
fake heavy hitters cartridge are everywhere

Fake Stiiizy Pods

fake stiiizy pods
Stiiizy has confirmed that the black plastic insert packaging is fake.

With fake Stiiizy pods, they look exactly the same as the original ones, it’s not always easy to tell them apart. Also, Stiiizy is currently in the process of changing and updating their packaging. The packaging makes it look cheap. Fake Stiiizy pods may appear to look, smell, and even taste the similar. Stiiizy has tested dirty for benzene as shown on our test page, but it was only once for a small amount of benzene.

One of the main things that Stiiizy prides themselves for is the quality of oil that they deliver. The most definite way to tell if your pod is a fake is by applying the bubble test to it. Furthermore, the bubble test is when you flip your cartridge or pod upside down, watching the speed of the air bubble. If the air bubble rises fast, than you can tell the quality of oil isn’t great, making it a fake.

Fake 710 King Pen

Not only is this a problem but real 710 King Pens have also been having problems recently, testing dirty. Aside from this, it fake 710 King Pen will be more obvious to identify. You can be able to tell apart by various factors, from the sticker of the cartridge to the quality of the oil. But be aware that not all of these fake cartridges don’t have the same variables.

fake 710 king pen
The real cartridges always have the logo of the crown or something relevant to the company.

Fake Mario Carts and Exotic Carts

exotic carts vs mario carts
Both of these brands have build a reputation, questioning its legitimacy

Mario Carts and Exotic Carts have become very popular and everyone is still wondering if they are legit or not. Unlike the previous companies we have mentioned, neither of these two brands have any background information about themselves. Additionally, they both failed lab tests, also containing pesticides.

If we were to have to decide, we believe that all Exotics and Mario carts aren’t official companies. Whereas these are just manufacturers that sell these brand packaging in bulk rather than distillate itself. These companies are mainly to provide refillable cartridges to be sold for people living in illegal markets. Because there is no official information about them yet, this will stay unknown and untrustworthy to smoke. See our page on fake Exotic Carts for more information. We will have further information on fake Mario Carts soon.

Fake Dank Vapes

As mentioned earlier, the affect of fake cartridges have made companies entirely change the look of their packaging. Alternatively, Dank Vapes completely changed their look, having a darker look to their packaging. At this point if there was any central Dank Vapes company, they are not operating. Right now all Dank Vapes are a form of fake cartridge.

On the other hand, the black market has already caught up and started producing replicas of these new packaging! Without it being a month, manufacturers have already found out how to create identical packages and sell them in bundles. Along with that, they even contain over a dozen of pesticides, since last tested on December. See our page on fake Dank Vapes for more information.

Hopefully Dank Vapes decide to upgrade their packaging once again

Fake Space Vape

When it comes to Fake Space Vapes, you can easily identify if you have a fake or not. The main thing to watch is if you have their updated package or not. Due to so many fakes out, they re-styled their package, making it more difficult for the black market to fake.

Shown above are the cartridges that they discontinued because of all the fakes going out.

After battling with fake cartridges, they decided to stick with this package shown below. These ones are very difficult to fake because the packaging is no where to be found for sale.

These are the only authentic types of Space Vapes. If you pick up any that don’t look like this package, than it most likely is a fake.

Fake TKO Cartridges

TKO’s Vapes is a company based out of California. Therefore, Fake TKO cartridges are everywhere, most likely outselling the original product. The easiest way to identify if you’r cartridge is authentic is if it’s disposable.

If you ever get a cartridge from TKO Extracts that look like this, than it’s a fake.

Fake Cookies Cartridge

First off, Cookies (the company itself) produces different types of Cannabis products such as flowers, extracts, concentrates, edibles, tinctures, topicals, and more. Unfortunately, there have been many packaging that are fake. Below we’ll show a few fake packaging.

Fake CCELL Cartridges

CCELL cartridges have become the most known and used cartridge that many companies use to fill in their distillate. Because of this, manufacturers replicated this hardware and sell in bulk to people on the streets rather than licensed dispensaries.

How to identify Fake CCELL Cartridge

authentic ccell cartridges
Authentic CCELL cartridges should always have these three stamps engraved to them.

CCELL must have these three stamps on the bottom of the cartridge itself. If there is one missing or perhaps with a different fonts, most likely it’s a fake.

fake dank vapes
Also always check for stamps and other odd features on the bottom.

As mentioned earlier, sometimes the fonts look slightly different when it comes to the font itself. Apart from that, if you see a white plastic underneath the 510 thread rather than a clear one, there’s a chance it also might be a fake. Read our blog for more information on Fake CCELL Cartridges.

Other types of Fake Vape Cartridges

There are constantly fakes coming out for various cartridges. The best way to stay away is to go to legitimate dispensaries. We will keep making pages on brands of fake cartridges and update this post as we go. You may want to also see our pages on fake Heavy Hitters and fake Space Vape cartridges.

What Are The Health Risks Of Fake Cartridges?

Some of you may be wondering “What’s the big deal?” Now it may be true, you could get legitimate oil from some black market 3rd-party vendor which may only be a step or two below brand name quality. But there’s so much more to vape oil than just the cannabis concentrate itself. Here’s a breakdown of the risks you’re taking:

Pesticides – Pesticides are the oilpen health concern everybody seems to focus on. And well they should! Pesticides are both nasty and a shockingly common contaminant. Out of 44 samples of cannabis oil tested in California two years back, only 3 came back clean of pesticides. Pesticides have too many issues to list here, but some of the health concerns are headaches, nausea, cancer, reproductive harm, endocrine disruption, irritation, tissue damage, dizziness, and fatigue.

Herbicides – It’s worth highlighting this case because it teaches a valuable lesson. Monsanto, the agri-business company behind the weed-killer RoundUp, has recently been taken to court for its active ingredient glyphosate causing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (a cancer form) despite years of assurance that RoundUp is not a carcinogen. Glyphosate has been found in food, including crackers, cookies, honey, corn, and soybean. Bet your bottom dollar it’s in some pot out there too.

Polyethylene glycol – This is an additive common in e-cigarettes for making huge vapor clouds. That’s a pretty effect, but polyethylene glycol has problems. First, it can be contaminated with ethylene oxide, which is classified as a carcinogen. Polyethylene glycol also breaks down into formaldehyde when it burns, AKA embalming fluid, classified as a possible carcinogen.

Propylene glycol – Another smoke enhancer, used in everything from deodorant sticks to smoke machines. But inhaling it is an untested realm of medicine so far. We do know it can cause adverse reactions such as sore throat and muscle pain.

Lead – Plain old regular vape cartridges have tested positive for lead, even on regulated, accredited brands. That should scare you off anything unregulated. Lead is a neurotoxin that causes general and permanent brain damage, in addition to being deadly at higher concentrations. There is no safe exposure quantity of lead. The only acceptable lead levels for something you’re inhaling should be 0%.

Until legalized, fake cartridges will keep causing problems for the cannabis industry

Because this isn’t recreational in all states yet, fake cartridges will keep on emerging and rising in the black market. And there isn’t anything these companies can do yet, with it still being a federally illegal product. With fake cartridges containing pesticides, this is causing illness and massive problems towards companies reputation. Something that you’ll realize with these carts is that even the real ones failed in lab tests, containing harmful distillate.

To conclude, it your best bet is to purchase your cartridges through licensed dispensaries

If you just pick it up from the street, you will never know what you’re truly smoking, making it dangerous to consume. Also, it is ideal to purchase more reliable cartridges that are pesticide free and are high in THC percentage.

Health and safety will always be number 1 for recreational and medicinal users alike. Fake cartridges are more likely to be in the form of bacteria or fungi than cartridges in dispensaries. Likewise, fake carts will have the chemical residues like pesticides more often than not.The negative effect might not be immediately clear still it will manifest when you continue using contaminated cannabis.

Sunday Goods Cartridge Review: Super Oil and Great Strength

Sunday Goods cartridge
The Sunday Goods trainwreck cartridge

Perk your ears up and put this one down on your list of future acquisitions! When it comes to supplying a treat, Sunday Goods has got it going on with their THC vape cartridge! After vaping down a .5- gram cartridge of Sunday Goods Trainwreck, there aren’t many negatives to discuss. What really blasts the experience off is the flavor profile and intense effects of the Trainwreck concentrate. Read on to get all the goods about Sunday Goods and their Trainwreck .5-gram cartridge.

Sunday Goods Cartridge In Package
The Sunday Goods Trainwreck Sativa .5g Cartridge

Pros:

  • Pure, Lab-Tested Concentrate
  • Immediate Intense Effects
  • Long Energetic Effect
  • Durable Cartridge
  • Informative Packaging w/Seal of Assurance

Cons:

  • Hi Price Tag

Recommendation: Make them a little bit cheaper, but might not be possible due to the high quality oil used.

The Sunday Goods cartridge offers pure, quality oil and a vibrant vaping experience

Forget about those fake cartridge worries. This Sunday Goods Trainwreck Sativa is one of three carts from a legitimate San Diego dispensary. How do you know that THC oil is authentic? You go to a place like MedMen in Kearny Mesa.

See our video review below. Keep reading on for the more in depth review.

Besides picking up the Sunday Goods, we also have the Heavy Hitters Malibu OG and the Honey Vape Green Crack. Don’t miss those reviews of cartridges also from MedMen. They will be up shortly.

Sunday Goods Tamper Free Seal
Notice The Tamper Free Seal On The Top Of The Cartridge Container

Out of those three cartridges, the Sunday Goods and the Heavy Hitters stand out the most. The Trainwreck strain of the Sunday Goods cartridge delivers a phenomenal experience. As far as flavor and effect go, the Trainwreck easily takes the top spot.

Sunday Goods .5-gram carts come in an elegant little box that would make a perfect Christmas stocking stuffer. The cartridge itself is fancy with a ceramic reed style mouthpiece. A look at the heating element reveals a cloth wick, a design that’s usually inferior to a coil. In this instance, however, the cloth wick doesn’t hold Sunday Goods back much at all.

A delicious earthy mix of lemon-lime stays on your palate with the Sunday Goods Trainwreck

You Sativa lovers out there know what a good strain of Trainwreck can do. Chances are you also know that it isn’t always very easy to find. Wherever it is that Sunday Goods gets this Trainwreck, the growers know what they’re doing.

So many times when herb goes through the distillation process, it loses parts of its natural taste. You either can’t really place the strain at all or one flavor profile dominates the experience. Sunday Goods doesn’t lose any taste in their Trainwreck cartridge. One vape and you’ll taste that earthy wholeness along with bursts of lemon-lime!

A three-second lung bursting vape tells you this Trainwreck is potent!

Sunday Goods recommends a three-second draw when using their cartridge which is fair advice. You might like to go longer but start with a three-second puff just as an experiment. Hold it in a few seconds and you’ll feel the vapor push against your lungs while expanding.

I prefer longer puffs and I probably go over 5-seconds in the video. You can see that extended puffs aren’t necessary with these cartridges. Test it at different variations to get your right size puff, but you’ll definitely enjoy the effects. Maybe plan some activities then indulge. This Trainwreck will fill you with positive energy.

Hi-scores for both durability and presentation of the cartridge

Sunday Goods puts elegance into their packaging and the cartridges as well. Their bold company logo appears at the base just where the strong glass tube ends. Up top for the mouthpiece is also a bit of extra style. Instead of your usual metal or plastic piece, Sunday Goods opts for a hard ceramic design. Unless you smack these carts with excessive force in just the right spot, they aren’t likely to break.

Below is a video on the breakdown of the Sunday Goods cartridge.

Trainwreck carts by Sunday Goods contain 79.08% THC and no CBD

Sunday Goods Cartridge Information
Sunday Goods Provides All Pertinent Information

Informative packaging gives the percentages plus a few other helpful facts about the concentrate. This Trainwreck boasts a potent 79.08% THC with test verification by Cannalysis Labs. Verification includes testing for contaminants with a batch and manufacturing date as proof. Check any Sunday Goods cartridge before checkout for their fresh by date to ensure the highest quality experience.

As for potency, the concentrate feels like it’s higher than it’s near 80% THC content. Perhaps the intense effects are due to the expando quality of the oil. Maybe it’s just that the effects hit so suddenly. Either way, the carts’ vibrant euphoria along with a superb taste are the high points.

High value drives up the asking price

Because the Sunday Goods cartridge in this review comes from MedMen, a legit dispensary, sales and excise taxes also apply. You might do away with the sales tax by having your medical card, but $45.00 before tax is still expensive. Does that take away the value? It might for some but it doesn’t for us, and here’s why!

For one thing, it isn’t easy to find a Sunday Goods cartridge in most dispensaries. It’s also understandable for a company to charge more when they incur extra charges. They can only use growers who don’t use pesticides and they also have to pay for testing. Perhaps the packaging is bit extravagant but we do appreciate the tamper safe seal. It comes down to this. If pure high-quality oil is a priority, you may have to go to a legit dispensary.

Sunday Goods cartridge disassembly

Sunday Goods Cartridge Disassembly
Complete Disassembly Of A Sunday Goods Cartridge

An examination of the cartridge’s inner workings reveals the wick and wire heating system, a design I’m not very fond of. I do have to say, however, that in this instance the cloth wick is not a drawback. The cartridge allows a constant fluid draw which is sometimes an issue in this design.

I feel like the incredible quality of the Trainwreck oil makes the cloth wick design more than adequate. A coil and rod would supply a bigger hit, but the cartridge would be gone before you know it.

In the image showing the cartridge breakdown, you can see some of the points I talk about. For a mouthpiece, the cart uses a ceramic reed style and it does screw right off. Refill and reuse these carts if you so desire! Thick glass forms the outer tube and a metal draw tube descends down to the element housing.

Inside the element’s housing is a tightly wrapped cloth which absorbs the oil. Gravity does its work so that the oil sits near the bottom wires, ready for ignition til empty. Proper design at the base of the draw tube leaves plenty of room for absorption. No trace amounts of oil are left behind at the end. Finally, you’ll find the cart ends with 510 threading to fit your standard battery size.

Sunday Goods claims 125 servings in their .5-gram cartridge

The Sunday Goods Promise
Sunday Goods Shares Their Promise And Code Of Values On Every Package

Obviously, this isn’t an exact science but it definitely offers a nice point of reference. According to the back of the package, it states:

For a proper feel-good experience, take a short draw to prime cartridge before attaching to battery. We recommend a three-second draw from the mouthpiece for a single serving. This cartridge contains 125 servings”.

Pretty cool, huh? Of course, if you hit the cartridge super hard for three-seconds it probably won’t have 125 servings. A coil heating element would almost certainly not give that many servings. Go for six or seven seconds on your draw and you’ll feel like a trainwreck hit you.

End of the line on the Sunday Goods cartridge review

For a potent and flavor concentrate, make sure to keep an eye out for this Trainwreck cartridge. The only drawback we can find is in the heating system, and it isn’t really a drawback at all. In fact, many connoisseurs prefer a short controlled draw over a lung-bursting vape. Ideally, you have the option of either or. We highly recommend the Sunday Goods Trainwreck cartridge for those who can splurge on quality. It doesn’t fall too short of perfection. For now you can find more information on Sunday Goods products on WeedMaps. It appears the Sunday Goods website is partially down.

Space Vape Review : Potent Oil, Pleasant Hits And A Powerful High

space vape review

From the positive reputation, Space Vape has become very credible with all of their products coming in. With the Very Special or Premium line out, also known as VSOP, this THC cartridge proves to be high quality. The oil is very strong and potent as it claims to be. Although the quality of the oil is top notch on the Space Vape cartridge, the flavor of the hits tastes very natural and aren’t as flavorful. This neutral tasting cart isn’t that harsh and gives smooth hits. But watch out, reviewing this cart showed me you will get a lot more high than you’d expect it to.

Pros:

  • Potent and thick oil
  • Has a natural taste
  • Positive test results

Cons:

  • Isn’t very flavorful
  • Test results aren’t recent

Recommendations: Update their lab results as well as their website to show all of their official products.

Space Vape has built a reputable brand to rely on

Having an official website, Space Vape has various trustworthy products that are uniquely made by them. From cartridges and pods to edibles, they have been building a positive reputation to their name. Take a look at our video review below and keep reading on for the more in depth review on Space Vape cartridges.

Another thing to mention is they have tested positive in lab results, containing no pesticides and up to 91% THC. This can explain why the oil is very strong and compelling.

Alien King Louis has a nice, lasting mind high with a slight piney taste

space vape cartridge
Space Vape packaging is displayed nicely and uniquely.

This strain gives a nice mind high that lasts for longer than you’d expect it to! This sativa gave me a mellow and active high with just a few hits that would last up to hours. Although this strain gives a satisfying high, it might be stronger than you’d expect it to be. This flavor gives a slight natural mint taste following a piney aftertaste.

Alien King Louis is more for the amazing high, rather the taste.

I should acknowledge that these carts do leaves a dense smell to it. Because it is more of a natural taste, it does leave a slight skunk scent, making it less discrete. This might be a good thing, with other cartridges smelling more like artificial scents, this proves to be of quality.

Space Vape uses enduring and typical, basic vape cartridge hardware

space vape oil
The oil is so thick, it won’t move easily when you turn upside down

The cartridge that Space Vape use is seen on many types of cartridges today. There is nothing special about them other than its simplicity and comfort. Also, these carts do have a twist on mouth piece, allowing you to reuse them. Giving smooth hits, the airflow of this cart made it easy and effortlessly to take hits.

Additionally, the cartridge itself does say is iKrusher which is the manufacturing facility that makes these cartridges. iKrusher is manufactured by ALD, who also makes the vFire hardware used in the Plug and Play vape. Because there are many fake cartridges out, there has been some confusion on whether these are official or not. As seen in their official Instagram account, the images of their cartridge did say iKrusher on it.

space vape oil quality
Not all of the cartridges are just going to say just iKrusher, for instance some of them might say ala before it. Some of these carts might not even say anything.

Space Vape contains clear, golden potent oil

Shown in the earlier image, the quality of the oil is very potent and has an amazing clear color to it. I personally didn’t believe that the it’s 98% THC, but it did prove to be very strong. Even with the oil as dense as it is, these carts will still give great smooth hits. As mentioned in the beginning, this is a feature that Space Vape prides themselves of the most. I should warn you, regardless of how smooth these hits are, they will hit you hard, all at once.

Although these give soothing hits, it gets you high in moments

Something that surprised me is how gentle these carts hit. Not rough at all but might will feel it through your throat.
It doesn’t even get you coughing as much, which may be a good thing. With that being said, it will get you baked when you least expect it to. Effects include a really strong mind high and it does hit you randomly. It should be noted that this high will not settle in evenly, rather unexpectedly and heavy too.

Hits did have amazing tasting terpenes

space vape back of packaging
All the Space Vape packaging should have the same message in the back, following their social presence.

Personally, I believe that the Space Vape carts give just the right amount of terpenes and CBD to it. As shown in the beginning, the test results proves its quality. Containing a 100-1 THC to CBD flavor, these carts still gives a fascinating taste. Because of this, it does give an earthy taste of a mixture of pine and slight mint. Taste may not be as strong or flavorsome, but without a doubt they still gives a lasting, euphoric high.

Fairly efficient, but I felt as if it burned quickly

The oil may be dense and thick, but it smoked quicker than I anticipated. In general, it was reasonably efficient and may last some people for a good while. Unfortunately, from a heavy smokers perspective, it didn’t last that long. Good thing this cart hits strong, you’ll only need a few hits so it can last you a few hours.

Overall, Space Vape are very worth it for the price

This cartridge may range from around $40-$50, which is a great price for its potency. Knowing that these cartridges come from a credible company gives me a lot more safety in smoking natural oil. Unlike the old Dank Vapes, the oil is not only a lot more clearer but cleaner. I will definitely buy these carts again because of how smooth and safe, especially because of their potency.

Unfortunately, there are many fakes going around

This has to be the only negative feature to this cart that I can think of. Recently, there have been many Fake Space Vape cartridges going around. Getting these cartridges in the wrong hands may leave a bad experience, for instance the oil containing pesticides and artificial flavors. Fortunately, Space Vapes consistently update their products because of this reason. As long as you get from a reliable source and stay up to date with their content, you should be fine.

Another thing I noticed is that these Space Vape cartridges aren’t for sale anywhere online, which is a great thing. Unlike other carts, like fake Dank Vapes or fake Exotic Carts, these are no where to be found for sale. All of these cartridges, for the most part, are being sold by Chinese manufacturers. After that, they sell these cartridges online in bulk for people to put in their own oil. After researching everywhere, Space Vape were nowhere to be found online for sale.

To conclude, Space Vape really does deliver oil of high quality and strength

space vape cartridge review
If I have to say one thing about these carts is how potent yet pleasant the hits and high was.

Undoubtedly, these cartridges are strong and worth the asking price. This wont be the last time I see carts, for I will keep you updated whenever they come with new products. If you either don’t get high easily or just want to get really baked, I highly recommend you try these carts. Unless you prefer a high that settles in more smoothly, than I guarantee you will be in for a surprise.

The Juice Co Cartridge Review : Good Quality Oil and Recently Updated

the juice co cartridge review

The Juice Co cartridge pairs good quality oil with great hardware. Overall, after doing this review The Juice Co is something I would try again. But at the current level of strength, it is definitely behind other brands available in Nevada such as Roots Extracts, Airo Pro and Select Oil. I will say however, The Juice Co is ahead of the heavily advertised Brass Knuckles brand.

Update 3/21/2019: The Juice Co has significantly increased the strength of their carts. This review was done prior to their strength increase and we will update it after trying the new blends. They now have many carts over 80% THC.

Pros:

  • Top Quality Hardware
  • Excellent Taste
  • Very Clean Feeling
  • Energetic

Cons:

  • Could Be Stronger
Recommendations: Make something with a higher THC percentage or somehow make it in general stronger than what it is now. Increase the strength. Recently they increased strength, prior to this review. Gj Juice Co!

The Juice Co cartridge turned out to be of good quality, but lacked strength

The Juice Co vape cartridge has its strengths and weaknesses. Increase the strength and it is good to go. Everything else about the cart is stop notch. Hardware, taste, and consistency were all there, just strength is lacking. The strain tested here was Clementine, a Sativa, and was the strongest one available at Essence Tropicana West, coming in at 76.4% THC.

See our video review of The Juice Co cartridge below. Keep reading on for the more in depth review:

Design and Build Quality: The Juice Co uses CCELL cartridge

The Juico Co uses my favorite version of the CCELL cartridge which is the newest generation CCELL with a ceramic tip. This enables you to refill the cartridge again later eventhough it may not be officially recommended.

the juice co packaging
The Juice Co uses a nice fold out box for packaging.

At this point, CCELL’s current generation cartridge is the most reliable hardware that produces the best hit. It is highly recommended also to use it with a CCELL battery. CCELL cartridge and the battery just pair well together and seem to produce better vapor than pairing it with a box mod or other type of battery.  The two CCELL batteries that we recommend are the CCELL Palm and Silo.

Oil Quality: The Juice Co vaped very smoothly.

You can tell that the oil here used is of high quality. Very consistent looking, no discoloration and it vaped very smoothly throughout the whole entire time.

Strength: THC percentage needs to increase.

Strength of The Juico Co THC cartridge could be a little bit stronger. I had to hit it at about ten times to really get a good effect. Whereas the Roots cartridge, I could probably hit about five times. Effectively, it would cost a lot more with The Juice Co vape cartridge to get the same medicated effect as with Roots or Airo Pro cartridge. I can take way less hits on the other cartridges that cost roughly about the same and I get more of an effect.

Taste: The Juice Co gives perfectly balanced taste.

Taste was stellar on The Juice Co cartridge. It was perfectly balanced and taste did not change throughout the cartridge. They really got their terpenes down here and they know what they’re doing on taste. We just need to add in the strength to make this an overall better and well rounded cartridge.

Efficiency is top notch with new gen CCELL cart

The cartridge is perfectly efficient. Using the latest CCELL pretty much ensures efficiency is gonna be good. You look at the cartridge when it’s over, there really is no oil left.

Number of Puffs was decent

Number of puffs was decent. The oil did seem to burn a little bit faster than some of the other thicker distillates that I have had in the past. For example, when I fill a cartridge using one of AMA’s oils, it does seem to last longer.

Also, more puffs are needed to get the same effect on this cartridge as compared to some of the other stronger brands.

Value is there for people wanting the weaker cart

Value is not that great for someone looking for strong THC carts. This is a perfect vape cartridge for somebody that wants something that is not extremely overpowering. There are a lot of people out there that prefer these lighter cartridges so don’t get swayed just by our opinion here. Here at DabConnection we’re looking for the absolute strongest cartridges, most of the people that read here are too.

However, I have to dock the value a little bit here because I really could just take much less hits on a Roots or another brand and I would get the same effect. So effectively since I have to hit it twice as much, I’m really getting about half the value of other top brands’ cartridges. That is why the value score here is a little bit lower than we expected.

Concluding our review of The Juice Co cart

In conclusion, The Juice Co has all the points down except for being high on strength. That is something very important to us here. For the time being, until I see a much higher THC percentage printed on the box, I probably would not try another Juice Co cartridge. Once I see it though, definitely a brand worth giving a second shot.
