Fake Space Vape: How To Spot The Real and Fake Ones

14
fake space vape

Fake Space Vape are becoming popular and found more often. Many vendors across the country that sell them all the time. Here we show how to identify real Space Vape products and how to tell if they’re fake.

What Is A Fake Space Vape Cartridge?

Space vape cartridges is considered fake when the oil is not made by the company itself, risking it containing pesticides, residual solvents, and lower quality oil. Similarly looking a lot like the legit ones, the packaging is being sold by Chinese manufacturers online. Fake cartridges have become a big problem for concentrate vape creators.

On the other hand, the good thing about this company is that they have built a positive reputation. Serving high quality oil and various products. As mentioned in their website, Space Vapes do have positive lab results that proves to have no pesticides in them.

Identifying fake Space Vape

Space Vapes took the initiative to change the way their packaging and cartridges are because of this reason. As long as there are fakes in the market, Space Vapes will keep consistently updating their products and package. To stay updated, check out their official Instagram page to ensure which cartridges are from them and which ones aren’t.

Old, inaccurate packaging or cartridge

space vape vsop
Authentic Space Vape Packaging

First off, Space Vape decided to change the outlook of the cartridge and packaging because of this reason. With the new ones, they took off the alien head on the cartridge. If you ever get one with Space vape on the cart itself, then it most likely is a fake. Also, it must say alien before the name of the flavor. For instance, Alien strawberry.

Not only this, but something that the plastic clamshell packaging must always have is Canna PK embossed at the bottom. As long as these words are imprinted anywhere on the bottom, it is legit.

Packaging without this imprint aren’t originally made by Space Vape.

Improper grammer and spelling

fake space vape
If it ever says Space High or anything other than Space Vape on the package, then it’s a fake.

Of course, the simplest way to see if it’s a fake is to check for bad spelling. China is notorious for misspelling things and this is an easy thing to spot. Unfortunately, because of this it’s an easy thing for them to fix, so this might not last forever. Remember, even the tiniest things like one word not capitalized can tell the difference.

Poor oil quality

Another key point to look out for is the quality of the oil. Something that Space Vape prides themselves of having high quality concentrates, containing over 90% THC. With this in mind, the oil density should be thick and should have a strong, clear gold color. Whereas it should not be a dark nor have a strong color, like the image shown below.

fake space vape oil
This oil in this cartridge has a very bright orange color to it. Alternatively, it should have a bright gold color.

Flavors that aren’t made from them

Although Space Vape have over a dozen different flavors, certain fakes will have flavors that aren’t originally made by them. To point out, below are the list of the flavors that are currently being sold by them.

Note: They MUST say Alien before each flavor:

  • Berry Pie
  • Blueberry Haze
  • Cookies
  • Fire OG
  • Gelato
  • Grapefruit
  • Grandaddy Purple
  • Jack Herer
  • King Louis
  • Limoncello OG
  • Melon OG
  • Punch
  • Sherbert
  • Strawberry
  • Sour Diesel
  • Sour Tangy
  • Watermelon
  • Zkittlez
space vape flavors
Having over a dozen different flavors, it may be difficult to tell which flavors are genuinely made by Space Vape.

Without a doubt, Space Vape will keep coming out with new products and flavors. As they do, we will keep updating this list. In the meantime here are the few flavors that aren’t made by them;

  • Apricot
  • Diesel
  • Pina Colada

Again, if you ever get a packaging with a green color card, it’s fake.

Information on other fake vape cartridges

THClear Cartridge Review: Clear Hits But Cloudy Lab Tests

THClear Cartridge review
King Louie XIII Indica THClear Cartridge

It’s unfortunate, really, that verified lab tests reveal the existence of pesticides in the THClear cartridge. Yea, it is a bummer when this happens with a favorable product. One both tasty and powerful like the distillate that THClear produces. Hopefully, they clear their name from these dirty tests in the near future. Gobble up all the goods about THClear cartridges in our full review. If you are looking for something better, check out our post on the best cartridges in California.

Pros:

THClear King Louie XIII Indica Cartridge
The THClear King Louie XIII Indica Cartridge
  • Good Flavor
  • Powerful Effect
  • Strong, Sturdy Cartridge
  • Value Pricing

Cons:

  • Tests Positive For Pesticides
  • Clogs, Uneven Draw
  • Sub-Par Heating System

Fail on pesticides, but the THClear cartridge scores high in most other areas!

If THClear would get rid of those pesticides, their cartridges would come with good recommendations. After testing the King Louie XIII OG, we have mostly good remarks about the overall experience. Take a look at our video review below. Then continue reading for the more in-depth review.

The cartridges themselves are durable, though they don’t provide an easy draw. You have to get a good amount of suction for a decent vape. This is one of the few other points of concern. Besides that, the oil doesn’t vape up too quick and has great flavor. The effects are strong at 77.50% THC and set in immediately.

Update 01/16/2019 – THClear Skywalker OG – Geoff

Those good remarks about the King Louie cartridge refer mostly to the flavor and potency of the oil. After trying the THClear Skywalker OG in the exact same .5 gram style cartridge, I find it rather disappointing. My neighbor, however, likes the flavor a lot. To each his own, I suppose.

The King Louie XIII OG THClear cartridge has a strong pine flavor that lasts in your mouth.

THClear Cartridge & Packaging
The THClear Cartridge & Full Packaging

Along with a rich earthy aftertaste, that pine flavor is a main characteristic of the King Louie XIII strain. With the THClear cartridge, you’ll taste that pine! It is direct, prominent, and doesn’t leave the mouth for several seconds after the vape. We do taste hints of that earthiness, but the pine definitely stands out above it.

Geoff – That almost winter fresh flavor of pine that appears in the King Louie also shows up in the Skywalker OG cartridge. It’s not quite as prominent and a spicy flavor is one of the characteristics of the Skywalker strain. Still, it gets me to thinking. The dabs from dispensaries of THClear also have that flavor. Perhaps it’s a quality of the distillate itself. THClear Skywalker OG doesn’t have an unenjoyable flavor, but it misses the accuracy of the strain.

The effects are intense & set in quite suddenly!

There are cartridges out there like the Brass Knuckles, for instance, that have a higher concentration of THC. We do believe the Brass Knuckles Jack Herer is stronger, but the THClear cartridge doesn’t disappoint. At least we can say the King Louie XIII doesn’t. Euphoria sets in with rapid intensity for a deep, decent lasting stone.

Geoff – Again, I’m not as happy with the potency of the Skywalker OG up against the King Louie XIII. It does have more of deep, relaxing effect which matches the strain description. Still. it would be nice if the cartridge gave off a deeper vape. The issue seems like a combination of poor cartridge construction and the oil itself.

THClear uses durable but cheap cartridges. They don’t provide a fluid draw.

THClear Cartridge & Mouthpiece
The Tube & Mouthpiece Are Plastic But They Do Unscrew

Just handling a THClear cartridge, you can tell that they are sturdy enough to do the job. Any banging around on your pen or while in your pocket won’t be an issue. You can also tell that THClear skimps a bit, at least on the cartridge material.

For instance, the mouthpiece is the slim design that fits in the mouth like a reed. It’s only comfortable in two positions, unlike a round design that works in any direction. The mouthpiece is made of plastic, though still durable. Like the mouthpiece, the outer tube is also a durable plastic instead of glass. The inner tube is metal.

Because the THClear cartridge is durable, the cheaper plastic parts aren’t much of an issue. The problem we find is the inconsistency of the draw when vaping the cartridge. It doesn’t stick all the way. but kind of sputters.

As our battery dies down, we find that the sputtering increases and the unit becomes difficult to hit. This is likely a result of the heating system which we discuss in more detail below.

Geoff – The Skywalker OG uses the exact same cartridge style with the same issues.

THClear claims 77.5% THC & 0.24% CBD in their King Louie XIII cartridge.

THClear Stated THC & CBD Cartridge Levels
According To Test Results, It Doesn’t Seem Likely The Stated THC & CBD Levels Are Accurate

Like so many other companies, THClear cartridges list the levels of THC on their packaging. They also list the levels of CBD, something not as many other cartridges do. What we would like to see, however, is a pesticide-free statement with proof of lab results. This info is nowhere on the packaging so let’s take a look at independent results.

Looking at the independent testing done by SCLabs, results show a THC level around 50%. Now we don’t know exactly which strain it is, but 50% falls far short of the 77.5% our THClear cartridge claims. CBD percentage is actually higher in the test. It shows 0.59% versus the 0.24% on our package.

Geoff – According to the Skywalker packaging, the THC content is 81.7%. From my impression when vaping the entire cartridge, it doesn’t seem that potent. THClear also states a 0.19% concentration of CBD on the Skywalker package.

Flavor to strain accuracy is true, but it’s unbalanced.

Another aspect of distillate we like to weigh is how true the taste is to the original flower. As we stated above, the THClear cartridge (at least the King Louie XIII) does carry the main flavors of the strain. Pine, however, is in overwhelming abundance and almost hides the earthy tones. This isn’t to say the flavor is not enjoyable. We think it is. It just doesn’t have a good balance in comparison.

Geoff – As far as accuracy in flavor to strain, the Skywalker cart has a decent balance. A blend of the herbal aroma and spicy sweetness comes through, but you still get that wintergreen aftertaste. I’m intersted in finding out if all the THClear oils have that same taste.

THClear cartridge prices fall in the mid to low range.

We were able to acquire the King Louie XIII THClear cartridge from a dispensary in Vista, CA. The asking price is $25.00 for the 1/2 gram unit. If THClear does get rid of the pesticides, this would be a value mid-range price. It might even be a low-range price in certain areas. For most locales in California, $20.00 or under would qualify as low range pricing.

Geoff – The THClear Skywalker OG cart cost the same as the King Louie XIII, $25.00.

THClear cartridge dis-assembly & design breakdown.

We’ll begin by sharing that the plastic mouthpiece does come off, making the cartridge refillable. It’s actually the whole top piece that unscrews from the inner metal tube. You could easily take a syringe and fill it back up if you so desired. After removing the top piece, the plastic tube pulls off with a firm tug.

THClear Cartridge Disassembly
The THClear Cartridge After Complete Disassembly

This leaves us with the 510 threads of the bottom attachment, surrounding bushing (which houses the heating element), and the inner metal tube. In the image, you can see the disassembly of the heating system.

There is a coil that wraps around the inside of the base and hooks in at two points. This coil doesn’t contain a rod but rather heats up a ceramic-like core. As you can see in the picture, this core is crumbled into pieces and next to it is the unraveled cloth wick. The wick surrounds the core when the piece is fully functional.

This heating system does do the job, especially with a fully charged or high powered battery. As far as the sputtering that occurs on the inhale, this may be because the oil has to soak in. It has to soak into the wick first, then into the porous core material.

Geoff – The THClear Skywalker OG .5g cartridge uses the exact same design as the King Louie XIII.

The cartridge is efficient & the oil lasts a while.

Our findings reveal that the THClear cartridge keeps its oil well. It doesn’t vape right up like our experience with the disposable VVS pen. This is most likely due in part to the consistency of the oil as well as the slow absorption of the heating system.

Geoff – A long-lasting cartridge continues to be a strong suit for THClear, although I do wonder if results would be the same with a better cartridge design. Either way, you’ll get more puffs than you might expect from this .5g cart.

Big hits are tough but possible.

THClear Skywalker OG Cartridge
THClear .5 g Skywalker OG Cartridge & Package

Use the THClear cartridge with a higher power battery and it should hit just fine. We are using the LoKey battery with a 350 mah power source and it works well when fully charged. After using about half the battery life, it isn’t as easy to get a full hit. Be sure to check out the video to see our demonstration.

Geoff – In the big puff category, the Skywalker OG scores worse than the King Louie. You really have to draw down hard and long to get a full vape. It’s not that the King Louie didn’t also have this issue, it just gave a better vape cloud in return.

Rounding up the THClear cartridge review.

As we bring this review of the THClear cartridge to a close, let’s go over the biggest talking points. Our main point of concern is the fact that pesticides appear in the lab test. We see that THClear currently has a website under construction. Hopefully, they get this issue straightened out. The remaining drawbacks of the cartridge make it a less than perfect product. Still, the enjoyable flavor and euphoria make the cartridge attractive. Especially if you can find them in the very low price range. You can find THClear cartridges near you on their locations page.

Geoff – After vaping the THClear Skywalker OG cartridge, my original assessment doesn’t change a bit. If anything, the overall score drops a few points. Cartridge design is likely the culprit for a less than appealing experience. Pesticides in the lab results really throw off any chance of a positive recommendation.

Vape Pen

0
vape pen types
Vape Pens are also referred to as wax pens, oil vaporizers or dab pens.

What Is A Vape Pen?

A ‘vape pen’ is a vaporizer that is made of eCigarette components. There is a massive variety of styles, features, and prices available. Vape pens can be used for vaping cannabis concentrates, as well as liquids. They are also referred to as oil vaporizers or wax pens.

A vape pen is composed of a battery at the bottom, an atomizer (or cartridge) in the middle, and a mouthpiece at the top. There is usually a small button on the side of the unit, which turns on the battery. The battery then heats the atomizer component and the concentrates are vaporized. The vapor is then inhaled.

When vaping, the perfect temperature should result in the concentrates releasing chemicals in the form of vapor. The heat should not be enough to burn materials. There is no combustion involved with vaping.

Types of Vape Pen

Pen-style vapes are usually long and slender, and look much like a pen (hence the name). Using a vape pen is a discreet and portable way to smoke on the go. Using a vape pen is easier (and less dangerous) than using a Dab Rig. Vape pens come in all strengths and sizes, and have different capabilities.

There are three main types of vape pens:

  1. Cartridge Pens: This type of pen requires almost no effort whatsoever. They are used with disposable cartridges which are pre-loaded with hash oil. Cartridge pens are low-maintenance, affordable, and usually very slender. Simply screw your cartridge onto the battery, press the button and enjoy. However, with cartridges, you have no control over what you’re inhaling.
  2. Concentrate Pens: Used by wax lovers. Concentrate pens are similar to cartridge pens but more advanced. Instead of inserting a cartridge, an atomizer is used. Concentrates are placed into the atomizer, heated by the battery, and vaporized. A concentrate vape pen is more advanced. This is a good option for those who want to choose their own wax, temperature, and dosage.
  3. Dry Herb Vaporizers: This type of vape pen is less common than concentrate ones. As they can only vaporize dry flower, they are often bigger and can be more expensive. The temperature must be well controlled as to avoid burning your flower, and airflow can be an issue.

A ‘Nectar Collector‘ style vape pen is an inverted version of a concentrate pen. Instead of depositing the concentrates inside an atomizer-type heating element, a nectar collector places the heating element at the very bottom of the unit. The user then directly touches the heat to the concentrated material and sucks the vapor through the tube.

Price Range and Differences

The price of a vape pen can range from $10 – $250! This depends completely on how advanced you want the product to be. A vape pen will be priced higher if it has multiple features, uses high-quality materials, or comes with extra atomizers or accessories.

Two vape pen examples at opposite ends of the spectrum are the This Thing Rips OG Four 2.0 ($74.20), and the Omicron V5 ($76.99). At right around the same price, you may assume they were the same quality. You would be wrong.

The OG Four 2.0 is a cheap, bad-tasting vape pen that uses plastic and only comes with 2 single coil atomizers. The Omicron V5 however, is made with stainless steel and includes a glass globe and 3 advanced atomizers: a quartz double coil atomizer, a ceramic double coil atomizer, and a unique black ceramic cylinder atomizer. For similar prices, you are getting totally different products.

Therefore the price of a vape pen does not necessarily indicate high quality, and research should be done before purchasing. Check out Dab Connection vape pen reviews here!

Dank Vapes Review: We Do Not Recommend These

dank vapes review

Dank Vapes claim to be made from the creators of DankWoods. This upcoming brand was established in 2018, creating a good reputation for itself. Unfortunately, the pesticides tests are currently uncertain and there have been many fakes out there. Doing this review revealed a quality hardware system with strong, tasty oil.

Update 2/11/2019: Dank Vapes has changed their packaging and we have a new Dank Vapes review up for 2019.

Pros:

  • Strong oil quality
  • Great built to it
  • Amazing, sweet taste to it

Cons:

  • Strong hits will guarantee you are coughing
  • There are vendors selling fakes
  • The test results show that the THC percent is 30% lower than it claims to be

UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety.

We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source. We do not recommend the Dank Vapes brand as it’s all just packaging now.

See our video review of Dank Vapes below. Keep reading on to see our more in depth, written review.

Dank Vap

es cartridges overall are excellent, despite its lab strength test

These Dank Vapes cartridges are amazing, strong distillates that I would recommend to anyone. From the distillate and its design to the oil, these carts are built with high quality. With the flavor always exceeding your expectation, they will always surprisingly taste just as the package says. The only unfortunate thing about these carts is that they aren’t as potent as they claim to be. Aside from all of this, these carts have such a strong and rich, sweet taste. In this Dank Vapes review I tried Mimosa, Grand Daddy Purple and Fruity Pebbles.

The lab results keep coming back passed and failed

Below we show three different pesticide test results from Dank Vapes. Early on they came out testing with negative lab results, having pesticides in them. The month of December, 2018, they came in passing than again failing to be clean. We are unsure if either one came from a fake or not. Regardless, they all came in with lower THC percent than they promote to be. Claiming to be over 90% THC, the strength result came in at average 65%.

Most recent test results from Dank Vapes:

This result came in failing with pesticides, at 63.79% THC

Dank Vape came positive in a dozen of pesticides. This is very unfortunate for the reputation they have.

Comes with a unique design and packaging

dank vapes cartridge box
These one of a kind packages allows you to visibly see the oil content in it and gives some background on flavor.

The packaging to these Dank Vape cartridges are made very particular and different. Its unique package claims to be all organic and contains no propylene glycol, with THC levels above 90%.

Aside of this, the design to the distillate is very unique as well. Its design allows it to give clean and smooth hits, with a great airflow to it. The good thing about this too is the mouth piece isn’t a screw on mouth piece. These sleek and comfortable cartridges will not draw back any oil when hitting it at all.

Dank Vapes Mimosa gives strong, savory hits

dank vapes mimosa
This flavor has a nice mind high following an amazing, strong taste

Something you will notice right away when hitting these cartridges is the taste. The Mimosa flavor has a very pleasant, fruity taste that will make you keep wanting to hit it. The Mimosa strain itself is a hybrid. It does have somewhat of an orange taste, but you can also taste a mixture of other fruits in it. The only thing about these cartridges being strong is that they will leave you coughing after a few hits. It is slightly harsh if you’re not use to it, otherwise they’re amazing.

Grand Daddy Purple gives a strong, grape flavor and a nice body high

dank vapes cartridge
The Grand Daddy Purple has a phenomenal taste and a mellow body high

The taste to the Grand Daddy Purple has such a strong, delicious taste that gives it an amazing experience. The Grand Daddy Purple strain is a popular Indica strain. These sweet and compelling hits have such a strong grape taste, you’ll be surprised on how accurate it is. Even though it gives a nice body high, it does give a decent and satisfying mind high.

Fruity Pebbles tastes too accurate, making it a bit skeptical

dank vapes fruity pebbles
This cart will shock you on how precise it taste to the cereal itself, that you’ll keep wanting to hit it just for the taste.

This amazing hybrid has a sweet taste to it that is exactly like the cereal itself. Giving me a nice mellow mind high and a great body high to sleep, its high does last for a while. Only thing is this cart tastes very identical to Fruity Pebbles that it had me questioning the potency and THC percent of it. With its previous failed test results, this makes me a bit unsure of the quality or strength. I should also mention that this oil was the only one that has a dark color and thin oil density. These hits may be tasteful, but would often leave harsh hits.Despite all of this, I admit it has a fascinating taste that makes me want to keep smoking it.

Cherry Pie is probably the smoothest one

dank vapes cherry pie
This smooth cartridge gives just the perfect amount of sweet and soothing hits

Without a doubt, Dank Vapes Cherry Pie is the smoothest flavor that gives easy and effortless hits. Unlike the other flavors, this cart won’t give you any sort of harsh or rough hit. Giving a well balanced body/mind high and tasting a lot like cherry, I prefer this on a daily basis.

Oil quality seems decent quality

The quality of the oil to these Dank Vapes isn’t as bad as it really is. Even though they are unfortunately about 65% THC, they do hit very strong. With thick oil density, these carts did hit a lot harder than I expect it to.

dank vapes oil quality
Even though it still isn’t sure the quality with no test, it’s still of quality

Regardless of the strength results, it will still surprise you how it hits

Although the test averaged at 65% THC, I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the way these carts rip. Depending which flavor you get, it will give smooth yet strong hits. Unfortunately it may be a bit harsh, depending which flavor. Other than that, these cartridges will conveniently get you high with just a few hits. Sometimes, only 2-3 hits were just enough to get me through the moment.

These cartridges give very rich and pleasant taste to it

Another thing that I loved a lot about these Dank Vapes is the taste to every flavor. This has to be by far my personal favorite feature of Dank Vapes. Any flavor that you purchase will never fail to its expectation. But watch out, enough hits of these and it will give you a slumped, after high.

These efficient carts will lasts longer than anticipated

These Dank Vapes lasted me longer than I’d expect them to. It could be because of how strong these carts are, I only needed a few hits every couple of hours. This allows me conserve this cartridge and still get high when I want to. Depending on how often you smoke, it lasts you anywhere between 1-4 weeks and does have well over 100+ hits. Despite if your’e in a group of friends or it is for personal, it will last you a good while.

There are unfortunately many fakes out there being sold

The only bad thing about these carts is that many vendors out there are selling fakes. This allows vendors to put what ever they want in the distillate. It is difficult to differentiate with them looking identical, but you can tell by a couple of minor details. Find more info about fake Dank Vapes here.

Which flavor is better?

dank vapes flavors
I have to admit, all of these carts tasted amazing. It all leads to preference as to which is better

This is a very difficult to pick, for they all are fantastic and have a great high and taste to them. It all ends up with personal preference. I have to go with either Cherry Pie or Grand Daddy Purple just because I’ve always loved the taste. They both really have nice and fruity taste to it, as well as a well balanced high. If your’e looking more of a mind high, your best bet would be the Mimosa or Cherry Pie flavor. If you want a stronger taste and more of a body high, go with Grand Daddy Purple or Fruity Pebbles. Even with the drowsy come down, the taste and strength really is desirable and worth it.

Dank Vapes VS Mario Carts

dank vapes and mario carts
Mario carts are alright, but are no where near as enticing as Dank Vapes cartridges.

Without a doubt, I would chose Dank Vapes over Mario carts anytime. First off, Mario carts claim that they are 83-87% THC, but a recent test shows THC coming in at 69.35%. Dank Vapes may not have any test results, but I can tell you that it feels well over 70% THC. Second, the taste is just too good that I will much prefer Dank Vapes. Another thing I should mention is that Mario carts doesn’t have as much information of their company as Dank Vapes.

Dank Vapes VS Exotic Carts

dank vapes and exotic carts
With both of them having good oil quality, Dank Vapes is still more potent and better

Even with the Exotic Carts, I will still choose Dank Vapes for many reasons. Don’t get me wrong, the Exotic carts are still strong and good. But the taste is still no where near as fascinating. Dank Vapes may give a slight harsh hit but only because of how strong the oil is. Exotic carts would give harsh and burnt hits to it with decent yet unknown oil, making it less enjoyable. Another thing is that Dank Vape are a lot more legit than Exotic carts too, having more proof and credibility to their company.

To conclude, Dank Vapes are well worth the experience and I’ll recommend to anyone

These Dank Vapes really are that amazing. Even with the mis-confusion of the lab tests and low THC percent, I still find them to be great. Another thing is, as mentioned earlier, that there are many fake Dank Vapes being sold. Even though these carts are well recommended to try, I would still watch out for its legitimacy.

Other than that, I definitely recommend anyone cart lovers to try this out. Regardless which flavor you get, you will be pleased with its strength and taste. Depending where you are, these usually costs anywhere between $30-$60. Above all, Dank Vapes are well worth the price and I surely will be buying more of them in the future.

Fake Dank Vapes Carts: New Packaging, Updated October 2019

273
fake dank vapes carts

Fake Dank Vapes carts are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country sell them all the time. Dank cartridges have become the most well-known black market brand. As far as we or anybody else has been able to discover, all Dank cartridges are fake and have always been fake. The cannabis industry is plagued by fake cartridges.  Not just fake oil brands, but hardware too. Vape cart sellers offer products globally through aggressive online marketing, with vendors spamming all over YouTube and Instagram.

Update 4/6/2019: Raised artwork has been added to new Dank Vape packaging. See below for more information.

Update 9/5/2019: At this point there is so much Dank Vapes packaging now available it does not appear to be that any one single source makes the “brand.” Therefore, we will continue to update this post on packaging changes. If you are in a legal state, it is recommended to avoid “street brands” altogether. Check out our best cartridge picks for California and Nevada if you are in one of those states.

Update 10/13/2019: We added a FAQ below to answer commonly asked questions about Dank Vapes. We have also edited this post as new events have come to light in the epidemic of black market cartridges.

Dank Vapes may have never been legit

The original Dank Vapes is alleged to have been made by Dankwoods, originally known for using Backwoods cigars to make blunts. Dank Vapes now has packaging showing up on various sites. You can now find packaging for Dank Vapes on Alibaba, eBay, Amazon, and other sites. Even vape specific sites carry them like Cheapest Vape Supplies.

There has never been a registered business in this name. Chinese companies offer counterfeit and made-up items at a price of pennies per lot. As a result, you get products failing horribly in health testing. Authentic cannabis is very valuable and it comes with a price, but it’s cheap and easy to cut extracts or distillates with vitamin E acetate, synthetic cannabis like K2 or Spice, or other harmful additives.

Frequently asked Dank Vapes Questions.

Here we will go through all the most commonly asked Dank Vapes questions. If you have a question not covered here, post it below in our comments.

How do I know if my Dank Vapes is real?

No Dank Vapes are real at this point. Any real Dank Vapes that may have existed as a company based in Los Angeles, California, no longer exists.

What is a Dank Vape?

A Dank Vape is a fake cartridge printed in China. They are made to look like they are part of a brand called Dank Vapes, but the brand is fake. Empty versions of Dank cartridges are sold on Alibaba and DHgate. They are then filled by THC oil producers, often cut with less than desirable ingredients.

Do Dank Vapes have pesticides?

More likely than not, yes. Dank Vapes contain THC oil that can be filled by anyone. They have been tested and come up dirty for pesticides. However, any Dank Vapes you get could have different oil in it.

Will Dank Vapes ship anywhere?

Be warned of fake companies shipping Dank Vapes. Most of these are scams that take your money and never actually ship the products. Don’t buy online as you probably will not get the product.

Keep reading on we will explain everything we know about fake Dank Vapes cartridges. We go through the identifiers from easiest to hardest. If your Dank Vapes cartridge does not pass one of these checks, it’s a fake. Some of the tests are not black or white answers, like determining the thinness of the oil, but we offer pictures to help guide you in the right direction.

Fake Dank Vapes : Pretty packaging, look for the holograms and cartoons

Were these a real brand from “Cali” as your plug doubtless claims, they’d be subject to California’s packaging laws which forbid the use of cartoon characters, candy-like labeling, or appealing to children.

One sure sign of a black market with many counterfeiters is the wide variety of package designs. Below is fake packaging from an older Dank Vapes look.

Some sellers are still pushing these old fakes. An easy way to spot counterfeits.

New package designs seem to hit the streets every month.

Fake Dank Vapes : No reputable company sells out of an Instagram account

Multiple accounts are out there on every social media channel calling themselves “the real Dank vapes.” You’ll see “dankofficial,” “officialdank,” “dankofficialvapes,” and every possible iteration. Be suspicious whenever you see a “company” with a hundred claimants to being real. Do you see McDonald’s or Walmart having to tell people “McDonaldsOfficial,” or “OfficialWalmart”?

Fake Dank Vapes : fake CCELL hardware

There is some dispute as to whether Dank cartridges use CCELL hardware at all. Fake CCELL cartridges are a problem in itself across the industry, but we can assure one thing: If your Dank Vapes is using a CCELL, then it is for sure fake. Identifying if a fake CCELL hardware is being used would be the next step in telling your Dank Vapes is a fake.

Identify a fake CCELL with Dank Vapes packaging

Fake CCELLs are surprisingly easy to catch, just check the logo on the bottom and compare it to the picture below. Got the stretched out CCELL lettering? Then your cartridge is a fake.

real ccell vs fake ccell

Even real CCELLs might have bunk oil, because anyone can buy authentic CCELLs.

Clear ring vs white ceramic plastic

As shown above, the fake Dank’s do have a white, ceramic ring on the bottom of the cartridge itself.

Fake Dank Vapes Step 4: The real Dank carts have a press on clear top mouth piece, not screw in

The type of mouthpiece the cartridge uses will help determine if it is a real or fake Dank Vapes. Dank Vapes with a ceramic mouthpiece are fakes. You will not find any of those types of Dank Vapes carts shown on their official Instagram page. Dank Vapes only uses clear top, round mouthpieces on their cartridge hardware. Take a look at the mouthpiece pictured below. If you see a Dank Vapes with a different one, it’s a fake.

dank vapes mouthpiece
The round top is an option for the CCELL M6T.

Here’s the things to look for in a Dank Vapes cart mouthpiece to determine if it is real:

  • Round, circular top
  • Does not screw in
  • Does not pop off easily
  • Not ceramic or metal

There are a lot of cheaper quality variations on the cartridge that Dank Vapes uses, so make sure to do those checks to see if it is real. Failing any one of the mouthpiece checks will ensure you have a fake Dank Vapes cartridge.

Fake Dank Vapes Step 5: Check for a thick core and If it’s too thick, it’s a fake

This one is easy to check on the internet, but hard to check if you are only looking at the fakes. If you are inspecting Dank Vapes before purchasing to determine if they are real you may want to have this part of the page open. Take a look at the picture below.

fake dank vapes
Although it’s hard to tell, the fake Dank Vapes has a lighter color package and the metal bar is thicker.

On the right side is the fake and you can see in the middle going down the cartridge, the core where the airflow goes through is considerably thicker. You will notice on the @DANKVAPESOFFICIALACCOUNT Instagram page the only cartridge type is that shown on the left.

real dank vapes
Look for the gap to tell if your Dank Vapes carts are real.

Take a look at the gap between the inner and outer post in the above photo. In this one you can clearly see there is a sizable gap, where as in the fake on the right in the other photo has almost no gap. If you don’t have this page handy when checking out a possible purchase, make sure to look for the gap. No gap between the center post and side and it’s a fake.

Fake Dank Vapes Step 6, Fake Oil: Checking for diluted, thin or light colored oil, not just a bubble

The bubble test is not an accurate way to check for fake Dank Vapes cartridges, but thin, watery oil is a sign of a fake. Comments on YouTube and forums have stated that if there is a bubble it might be a fake, but we have debunked that. See the pic below.

dank vapes air bubble
Bubble of air is circled

As you can see this is a shot from the official Dank Vapes Instagram page, and there’s a bubble in the cartridge. Now that we have gotten past that false way to identify Fake Dank Vapes oil, we will show you the real way this step is done.

Thin, light, watery oil is nowhere to be found on the official Dank Vapes page

The type of oil found in Dank Vapes carts is of the darker variety. Not the dark orange look now found on Stiiizy pods, but a darker yellow. Light yellow oil like the cartridge pictured below is most likely going to be a fake.

fake dank vapes oil
Look for the thin, light colored oil to identify fakes.

You will see on the above cartridge there are plenty of air bubbles which is where the rumor came about that air bubbles means it is a fake. Do use air bubbles to try and identify if it is a thin oil or not, but do not based your opinion on whether the oil is fake solely on air bubbles, as you saw previously they can also happen on real Dank Vapes.

Revolution of Dank Vapes since day one

dank vapes cartridges
Dank Vapes cartridges since they first started

Lack of legit dispensaries amplify the problems with fake cartridges

Dank Vapes cartridges considered fake when the oil is not actually made by Dank Vapes the company. You can never be sure of products coming out of unlicensed dispensaries and legit dispensaries are not carrying Dank Vapes as far as we can tell. You should avoid Dank Vapes if you have legit stores offering better products in your area. We provide this guide as not everyone has access and Dank Vapes might be the only option.

As we mentioned above, these pre-filled vapes are from the creators of DankWoods. Nobody can tell if it is a legit company. There is no information as to where their products come from and the lab results that have come out were not good.

Dank Vapes pesticides and residual solvents tests: Pass and fail

Dank Vapes has both passed and failed pesticides test. Note that it’s hard to tell if what was tested is a real Dank Vapes cart in the first place. If there’s a chance the real one tested dirty, it’s another good reason to skip Dank Vapes altogether. Below we will post all three tests. All of these Dank’s were taken in December of 2018 but on different days.

First test: Dank Vapes fails for pesticides

dank vapes king louie test
Failure for multiple pesticides and fungi on this King Louie cart

Here the Dank Vapes King Louis cart had beyond a safe level of the pesticides Bifenazate, Bifenthrin, and Permethrins. The fungicides Metalaxyl, Myclobutanil and Tebucanazole were also present. We looked up the side effects and Bifenthrin seems to have the worst. According to Toxnet, side effects can include dizziness, spasms, tremors and numbness. But really all this stuff you don’t want to hit in your vape cart.

Second test: Dank Vapes passes clean here

dank vapes test
This one did not have a full list of what it passed for.

The only gripe we have about this test is it does not list all the pesticides, fungicides, and residual solvents in order. We in general are skeptical of any non-independent tests. Tests done by independent parties are more trustworthy than ones done by the company themselves. Brass Knuckles, who also has been subject to counterfeits, has tested clean on their own tests while independent tests have shown as dirty.

Third test: Dank Vapes carts fail again for pesticides

dank vapes hardcore OG test
Hardcore OG was found to have unsafe levels of pesticides and fungi.

The above test is the latest test result we could find for Dank Vapes. Done by datdude4150 on Instagram, we use much of his information for our own oil pen pesticides and solvents list.

The Dank Vapes Hardcore OG had unsafe amounts of the pesticides Bifenazate, Bifenthrin, Chlorfenapyr, Etofenprox, Etoxazole, Hexythiazox, and Permethrin. It contained unsafe amounts of the fungicides Myclobutanil, PaclobutrazolPropiconazole, Tebucanazole and Tryfloxtrrobin. Etoxazole has awful side effects including Anemia, body weight decrease, prostate issues and problems with adrenal glands.

Lots of brands fail pesticides test, but some never have

It should be noted that there are many brands that don’t pass pesticides tests. Brands that have consistently tested clean are: Select Elite, Jetty Extracts, Kurvana, Rove and Honey Vape. One thing these companies have in common is they are all registered and you can find the people being them. For example Select Elite is by Select Oil, registered in a few states, and was founded by Nitin Khanna. Jetty Extracts is registered in California and has industry veteran Nate Ferguson behind the wheel making extracts.

See our THC cartridge pesticides and residual solvents test page for more info on the latest tests so you can make sure what you are vaping is clean. If you are in Nevada, testing is strict so just make sure to buy from legit stores and you are good to go.

Reasons why you should get your vape carts from legit dispensaries instead of black market retailers

  • Health and Safety – Health and safety will always be number 1 for recreational and medicinal users alike. These street cartridges might be cheaper at times, but this makes it more probable of it being contaminated. Contaminants in the form of pesticides, fungicides, and residual solvents are all over the black market. Even if you are in a black market area, look for white market cartridges that have made it your way. Even Brite Labs carts have been seen in the Chicago area recently.
  • The negative effects of pesticides and residual solvents might not be immediately clear but it might manifest when you continue using contaminated cannabis priducts. There were those who were unlucky though and got the shorter end of the stick when they consumed a fake cannabis product in April of 2018: an outbreak in Illinois was reported with 2 deaths and 54 other cases of bleeding.
  • Supporting the legal cannabis industry – You show your support to the Cannabis Industry by purchasing from licensed sellers. When you buy from legit suppliers they provide stable jobs in the new legal cannabis industry. The black market does not care about your safety, they want to get the most money out of a product.
  • Bad for the environment – remember that illegal cultivators are operating out of places that do not meet all safety and environmental standards. Disposal of waste may not be properly carried out nor is worker safety often a top priority.
  • Everyone’s Happy – As soon as we straighten things up from top to bottom then we can all be happy. Eventually we will all benefit from cannabis as long as we have clean cultivators, licensed dispensaries and an end to the black market.

Information on other fake vape cartridges

DabConnection is continuing to compile information on other fake vape carts. See our other pages for fake Brass Knuckles, fake Cereal Cartsfake Stiiizy pods, fake 710 King Pens, fake Heavy Hitters, and fake Exotic Carts. The best way to avoid fake cartridges is to purchase items at licensed facilities and buy from brands that used an authorized retailer list on their website.

Concluding our guide on fake Dank Vapes carts

As we get more information we will keep updating this post. Remember the easiest way to spot a fake Dank Vapes cart is to look for new packaging. If it’s the old, non-black style, most likely it is fake. Once you pass that test, go on to the next five steps to determine if your Dank Vapes cart is real or not.

If you have information you would like to add, please comment below. If you have a cartridge and still can’t tell if it’s a fake, post in our oil pen forum and one of our experts will answer.

Exotic Carts Review: THC Cartridge Delivers Strong Hits, But Untrustworthy

exotic carts review

After testing and reviewing Exotic Carts, we are still questioning it’s authentication. We tried it with the G Pen Nova, giving it strong hits and thick smoke to it. Although its oil quality is strong, there is no information about the company itself out there. With that being said, we can’t be sure if the product is pure nor the legitimacy of this company. It may be one of the many fake cartridges out there.

Pros:

  • Good oil quality
  • Very efficient
  • Strong hits and thick smoke

Cons:

  • May give harsh hits
  • Has a burnt aftertaste to it
  • These carts can’t be reliable

Recommendations: Provide more information about the brand company as well as tested lab results with it.

Below is our video review of Exotic Carts. Keep reading on to see our in-depth written review.

Update 6/6/2018: New Packaging

exotic carts
@OfficialExoticCarts
exotic carts
Recent Updated Exotic Carts

As shown above, there recently has been a switch on the packaging itself. This isn’t new, it’s been this way since the beginning of 2018. Although they seem more authentic and more of a legit company, people still question it’s authenticity. See our Fake Exotic Carts post to see if your cartridge is legit or not.

It did give strong hits, but also followed with harsh hits

The Exotic Cart Gelato flavor does have a strong, lemony taste to it. It was nice at first, until it started giving harsh hits. Most times, it would have a burnt after taste. This surprised me because it will come and go. Besides this, it did give hits strong enough to get you high with only a couple of rips.

Oil quality did feel potent, but still questionable

exotic carts oil quality
Although the oil quality tasted strong and potent, we aren’t 100% sure what’s in it.

This Exotic Cart really did catch me by surprise. Because of the lack of credibility, I personally didn’t expect much from this cartridge. Soon to realize that I did get very high with just a couple of hits. The oil this flavor comes with has a thick wax consistency to it. Anywhere between 3-10 hits will guarantee you a great feeling.

Design is typical and mouth piece came off

There’s nothing special with the design of the distillate. Apart from this, the mouth piece is removable. It is a twist on, which makes it difficult to trust the actual quality of this cart.

Exotic carts aren’t reliable nor credible

The only thing about this company is that there are many vendors selling fake Exotic carts. This allows shady vendors to put in whatever they want in the distillate. Additionally, it is difficult to differentiate them between fake and real Exotic carts. Because of this, it can’t be fully trustworthy.

Strong and durable, lasting distillate

First off, the Exotic cart is a lot more efficient than I expected. There are a good amount of hits to it and it did last me a few days. Depending how often you smoke, you’ll just need a few hits per day (or per hour) and you’ll be set. Second, it gives very thick smoke to it. This gives more strength getting you high quicker and easier.

The unfortunate part of this is that it isn’t as discreet as I’d like it to be

Because of the strong hits it gives, it does leave a loud, sweet scent to it. You may not realize it at the moment, but it will leave a strong smell in your environment. It’s more of a fruity smell rather than a skunk like smell, so it doesn’t stick and stay forever.

There is no exact THC percentage or any lab test results

exotic cart back of packaging
These carts claim to be tested and clean, but there are many fakes being sold out there.

On the back side of the packaging, Exotic carts have a lot of claims to it. Although it says it is pesticide free and 80-85% THC, this packaging is sold everywhere online through companies in China. As mentioned earlier, there is a lot of confusion on the legitimacy of this company. We unfortunately have to be skeptical of them because of the lack of information on it. The research that is available online from Reddit and other sources seem to feel the same way.

Apart from this, Exotic carts do not provide a website. They do have an official Instagram page with a few posts. Also, it is very difficult to tell the difference between fakes due to the lack of data.

An inside look of this cartridge

exotic carts disarmed
The design of this cartridge is made with decent quality, although can be improved

Here is an inside look of this cartridge as show above. It actually looks very similar as the Mario carts. Something that I disliked about this design is how it’s built in the bottom part. The thickness of it makes it difficult to take hits once you are low on oil.

exotic carts coil
The atomizer this comes with it may give thick smoke, but they’re harsh hits.

It comes in a plastic single cotton, quartz coil, which is better than I imagined. I expected a stronger atomizer just because it did give thick smoke when hitting it. The wire is wrapped around this coil and goes through, to the bottom of it.

Exotic cart VS Mario carts

exotic carts vs mario carts
In comparison, they’re both great but still skeptical and aren’t as legit.

Although we did like both of these carts, neither the Exotic carts nor Mario carts are very trustworthy. They both do have strong hits to them and good quality oil. Unfortunately, they also came with a couple of burnt and harsh after-taste. If we had to choose, we would prefer Exotic carts over Mario carts. There was a recent test that show Mario Carts THC coming in at 69.35%, giving it a disadvantage. Still, we recommend you to purchase cleaner cartridges that have been lab-tested.

To conclude our Exotic carts review: They great but unfortunately suspicious

exotic carts gelato flavor
No matter how much we liked the strength it has, we still can’t fully trust these.

I personally did like the potency of this cart. Disregarding the harsh and burnt taste to it, it can be worth the price. I wish that I can put more value to it, but the credibility really lowers the value of this cart. I would just much prefer knowing that the oil I’m smoking is clean and quality with no pesticides in it.

Depending where you’re from, these Exotic carts can range anywhere between $40-$60. Some people say there are vendors selling them for an even higher price. Although we like these carts, our final analysis must recommend against them. Without the guarantee of a legitimate company, we will never know if it actually contains pesticides. It’s also too easy to fake the product if a company isn’t legit. They really don’t have the means to fight any fraud. With so many lab-tested products on the market today, it’s worth the extra few dollars to stay safe.

Fake Exotic Cartridges: How To Spot Them, Who Makes Them

102
fake exotic carts
identifying fake exotic cartridges

Update 02/09/2019: Companies producing fake Exotic carts.

Fake Exotic carts are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country sell all types of fake cartridges and they buy them directly from China. Here, we’ll show how to identify them as well as the name of the companies that are making fake Exotic carts.

Fake THC cartridges are a major problem in the past year. See our other pages for more information on fake Stiiizy pods, fake Brass Knuckles, fake 710 King Pens, and fake Heavy Hitters.

Update 10/21/2019: All Exotic Cartridges are fake, they are only a packaging brand.

What are fake Exotic cartridges?

An Exotic cartridge is considered a fake when it contains oil that was not made by the actual company. In China, companies make cartridges with Exotic cart branding, logos, and packaging. We are not sure if the real company is able to pursue any of the Chinese makers legally, because there might not be a trademark since technically Exotic cartridge is a federally illegal product.

To begin with, there isn’t even any information about the company itself in the first place. Making it more skeptical and unsure about the oil quality and what’s actually in it. Apart of this, there are many fakes out there ranging anywhere from $30 a gram to $60 a gram, sometimes even more. Namely, we highly doubt the legitimacy of Exotic carts as a company. What does this mean? We can’t be sure that the product is pure.

  • Apple Fritter
  • Blueberry kush
  • Cookies and Cream
  • Do-Si-Dos

Key things to look for when identifying fake Exotic cartridges

Poor oil quality and low consistency level

identifying fake exotic carts
The distillate should have a thick wax density to it
fake exotic carts do si dos indica
Contributed image from a reader. It had thin oil and piney taste.

Some of these fake carts seem to have a very thin, waxy consistency. Even though these cartridges claim to have 80%-85% THC level, vendors can put any sort of oil they’d like. Some people will even say that some of these carts aren’t as strong as they claim to be. Not only this, but there are others who say that these carts leave a weird, burnt aftertaste to it.

Fake Exotic carts are easy to open and not sealed tightly

If you ever have an Exotic cart that isn’t sealed, or any cart in general, you should be a bit skeptical to whether it is legit or not. These fake Exotic cartridges aren’t sealed right, allowing them to be easily refillable with any sort of oil that people can sell to you. You can tell this by squeezing above the resealable zipper, this will allow it to pop open easily.

The packaging isn’t holographic

exotic carts packaging
All new flavors come in a holographic package
exotic carts gelato hybrid
Contributed image. Packaging was good and hard to open but non-holographic.

This is a bit of a contradiction. Exotic carts recently came out with new flavors and will keep coming out with more. With that being said, the packaging to these new flavors come with a holographic tint. Packages without this tint can mean they’re either trying to get rid of their old inventory or they’re possibly fake. On the contrary, there are many counterfeit holographic packages being sold everywhere online.

Has a silver or lighter-color mouth piece to it

Another thing I realized is that some of these fake carts are either silver or light gold. As far as I know, their Instagram page shows the mouth piece with a strong Gold color to it. Most cartridges have a strong gold color to it, but some vendors sell them with a silver color to it.

UPDATE 2021 : New packaging found

As you can see from this post’s date, we were pointing out Exotic cart fakes way back in 2018! Well here it is August 2021, and we ran across these:

Exotic-carts-Joe-Tiger-King

“Rona guaranteed or your money back” – You know what, I’m starting to love the 2020s. It’s like every 1980s dystopian teen movie came true at once.

This, of course, is a reference to the TV reality show Tiger King. It was a huge hit right when COVID-19 started up. Recognize it here?

Tiger_King

When the US first reluctantly started lockdown quarantine, millions of Americans took to streaming video at home, and Tiger King suddenly got popular through sheer viral luck. China cart packagers just went “well it came up in Google, it must be part of our branding!”

Exotic-carts-presidential-kush

The second one is modeled after former US president Donald Trump, as a “presidential kush” strain. (hint: there is no such cannabis strain). This one echoes those “Fat Donald” carts we saw way back when. I’m getting to know Chinese packaging art too, and I’ve seen this one-eyed cyclops motif all over Exotic carts packaging before – plenty of examples on this page. I think it’s their cultural way of depicting a foolish person. Traditionally, the cyclops represents narrow-mindedness, or people who see things through only one perspective. But they also brand the Kool-Aid pitcher with it, so maybe to them it just means their artists can’t draw 2 eyes.

Here are the companies that are making fake Exotic carts

For ones that had a picture I am including a picture so you can identify fakes better. The picture of each company’s fake will be below their information. Brass Knuckles GG4 Cartridge Review : A Light Hitting, Citrusy Creeper

Brass Knuckles GG4 Cartridge Review
The Brass Knuckles GG4 1 Gram Cartridge

If you’re looking for a concentrate that’s easy on the breathing tubes yet still floats you away, tune in! The Brass Knuckles GG4 Cartridge, better known as Gorilla Glue, provides a light citrus-flavored vapor. The intake is gentle on the lungs, but don’t let that fool you. Give the GG4 a minute or two. It’ll creep up on you like glue does when it dries. Keep in mind that this is a strain-specific review.

Be sure to examine our general Brass Knuckles cartridge review and Napalm OG review for more info on their line of products. Now on to the Gorilla Glue strain specific Brass Knuckles review!

Below is a video review of the cartridge and below that is the more in depth written review.

The Brass Knuckles GG4 cartridge gives a light, citrus-flavored vapor and creeps up on you!

What does it mean to have a light vapor? Well, it means it’s not hot on windpipe coming in or on the exhale. Furthermore, the Brass Knuckles GG4 doesn’t expand too much. It’s nothing if you compare it to the Brass Knuckles Jack Herer cartridge. Don’t let the light vapor of the BK GG4 cartridge fool you. If you take an extended draw, it’ll set you off on a coughing spree.

Brass Knuckles GG4 Cartridge Close Up
You Can Tell In The Close Up That We Really Enjoyed The BK GG4 Cartridge

As you exhale the Brass Knuckles GG4 vapor, there’s an unmistakable citrus tinge. According to the info that Brass Knuckles provides there is also a hint of vanilla. We think the vanilla is discreet at first but does come through with a touch of pine in the aftertaste. Another discovery about the BK GG4 cartridge is its creeper effect. If at first you feel it isn’t potent, just give it another minute!

Durability is a bonus with Brass Knuckles cartridges

Though we give high marks to the durability of the cartridges in both our general Brass Knuckles Cartridge Review and our Jack Herer Review, it’s good to go over it again. Things can change over time. We see the same cartridge design as usual with the Brass Knuckles GG4. It uses a sturdy metal mouthpiece and a strong glass tube. The inside metal core holds up as do the 510 threads that connect to your battery.

Brass Knuckles GG4 Hybrid is potent but takes a minute for full effect

After the citrus, pine, and vanilla flavors leave your tongue, you might think the oil isn’t potent. We suggest you sit back and relax for just a minute or two longer. Our experience wasn’t one of immediate euphoria. There is no denying the delay effect of the strain. It creeps up and settles any initial concerns about potency. Below is a video of me trying to get a harder hit out of it.

Short on flavor-to-strain accuracy

Brass Knuckles GG4 Cartridge Package
Out Of The Packaging And Ready To Vape! Even The BK Packaging Is Sturdy

Gorilla Glue #4 (aka Original Glue) is a cross between Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb, and Chocolate Diesel. The flavor profile is one that most enthusiasts describe as piney and sour, with a chemmy tinge. We do taste the sour in the citrus and just a touch of that pine in the Brass Knuckles GG4 cartridge. Where the vanilla comes from we don’t know, but we don’t taste any chocolate.

Value pricing of Brass Knuckles GG4

The delivery service we use for the BK cartridges charges $50.00. That’s for 1 gram of oil and it is a decent price, especially since they bring it over. Anything over that is asking too much in our opinion. Find the BK carts for $45.00 or lower and you are getting a good deal.

Cartridge design features

For the most part, the cartridge design remains the same as in our other reviews to date. Users still complain about the change over to a reverse flow design. We still find that the Brass Knuckles GG4 cartridge is tough to hit. You have to pull very hard to get vapor out. We haven’t run into one that clogs completely, but there are reports of it happening.

The Brass Knuckles quality guarantee

Brass Knuckles guarantees nothing but the highest and purest quality oil in their cartridges. In our BK Jack Herer Cartridge Review, we reported complaints that independent testing revealed pesticides. The testing by SC Labs has always shown the oil to be clean and Brass Knuckles reaffirms that sentiment. They claim they never had an impurity problem, but rather a counterfeit problem. Be sure you’re receiving an authentic BK cartridge.

Final view of the Brass Knuckles GG4 cartridge

DabConnection gives high accolades to the Brass Knuckles GG4 cartridge. We love almost everything about it. We do have to say how much of a disappointment it is that the draw issue still isn’t fixed. Brass Knuckles has to figure out why that is occurring and take care of it. Their oil is way too good to suffer frustration when trying to take a vape. We hope they sort it out soon because we adore Brass Knuckles cartridges, and the GG4 is no exception.

Pure Vape THC Oil Review : Good Quality Oil For The Price

pure vape thc oil review

It took a long time to find Pure vape THC oil syringes in stock. Finally we got to test them out. They turned out to be a decently strong  oil and the price was excellent. Our Pure Vape THC oil review revealed they are not the strongest, but it is good for the price.

pure vape thc oil
Pure Vape says their THC oil syringes are in the 80s for THC percentage, we think it will test lower.

Since Pure Vape syringes are so popular and many have asked for this review, well be doing a review of Pure Vape syringes with input from two of our reviewers. Points will be the average of both reviewer’s scores. All scores are based on a 10 point scale. Looking for something stronger? Check out the W Vapes syringe.

Pure Vape THC oil is great for the price

We found Pure Vape THC oil to be priced well across the board. Dispensaries that carried them all over California had low prices compared to other syringes. Strength-wise it is not the strongest ever. Vader Extracts and W Vapes both make stronger distillate in our experience. Both cost twice as much as Pure Vape’s syringes unless they are on sale.

Pure Vape THC Oil Quality was good, but not the best

Bert: Pure Vape syringes had decent oil quality. I tried out two different syringes. One was Lemon Haze and the other OG. I would not say this is best of best oil, but definitely above average. I do think when the testing comes back this will show a lower strength than what is reported. This does not seem like an over 80% THC vape cartridge. I give it a 7.5.

Jesse: Those after strength and affordability will be satisfied with the above average potency of Pure Vape THC oil. The density of the THC oil from PURE is not as thick as others such as Americanna and Stiizy. Although the added terpenes dilute this distillate oil, it also compliments its effects. I notice the Pure Vape THC oil vaped a bit quicker than others, especially in the Plug and Play pod. I score the quality of this THC oil an 8.5/10.

Taste was good across the board on the Pure Vape THC oil syringes

Bert: Pure Vape THC oil tasted pretty good. Better than most random syringes I have tried. Way better tasting than almost all CO2 oils. The W Vapes THC oil syringe is the only CO2 that comes close to the Pure Vape syringe on flavor. Vader Extract’s Coconutz syringe and both of BaM’s G Pen Gio pods syringes both tasted better than Pure Vape’s THC oil. I score it an 8 on taste.

Jesse: I tried a strawberry cough and lemon haze from Pure Vape. The lemon haze was my favorite, it has limonene terpenes added to it for additional therapeutic benefits. This terpene has antidepressant effects for those who are looking for a mood enhancer. Lemon haze is a sativa dominate THC oil, it can help focus and provide energy. The taste is definitely superior to a majority of other THC oils available. However, it’s not as good as the distillate inside of Brass Knuckles cartridges. The taste is excellent and pleasant. I score taste an 8/10.

pure vape
Pure Vape thc oil is decent, but not the best.

Pure Vape syringes are pretty strong, but not the strongest

Bert: Strongest syringe for the price. Keyword being the price. Syringes mentioned above from Vader were substantially stronger. Oil in the Kabunky vape cartridge, Justdab and BAM Gio pods were all stronger. I am not trying to say it is weak, just that there is better out there than Pure Vape THC oil. I have to hit this like 7-8 times to get a good feeling, while it takes me about 5 hits with a good Vader or AMA extract. Many people say Pure is the best/strongest, I can objectively say it is not. 7.5 for strength.

Jesse: There are distillate oils that leave you unsatisfied and chasing for a stronger high with more puffs. I experienced this with big daddy’s distillate. Fortunately, I didn’t need any more than a few puffs from a refilled Plug and Play pod and CCELL cartridge to be satisfied. I score THC potency effect an 8.5/10. One vape of this cannabis oil will provide instant relief and energy to continue any task.

Pure Vape Syringes Are The Best Value

Bert: You cannot beat Pure Vape syringes on value. I paid $60 for two full grams as a first-time patient special. Normally they were $40 a gram. I pay $40 a half gram in Las Vegas for Vader’s syringes when there is no sales. Definitely a 10 on value.

Jesse: I was able to get a gram of Pure vape oil for $45 including tax. However, I can usually get a discount when I purchase more than one with this weed delivery service in the bay area, 10 collective. I can usually get 2 grams for $80 including tax or 3 grams for $110. Although, I was informed these deals are not forever so get them while they last. Pure deserves a 10/10 for value.

pure vape thc oil syringe

Tip: It doesn’t hurt to ask for deals even when there isn’t any posted on a cannabis delivery service on weedmaps.com.

Using Pure Vape THC oil to refill cartridges or pods

pure vape refill
Refilling was easy since Pure Vape THC oil is viscous.

Bert: Pure Vape oil was viscous and easy to fill carts with. I used a CCELL cartridge and it filled up quite easily. Also, I tried it on the Stiiizy and that was easy to fill too. The high viscosity made it go in without having to heat it up like I do on thicker extracts.

pure vape oil review

Jesse: Not all THC oil syringes are the same with some being more efficient dispensing oil than others. I had trouble dispensing THC oil with both Big Daddy’s distillate and Americanna cartridges. Fortunately, Pure vape syringe didn’t give me any issues refilling my Plug and Play vape pods.

Overall thoughts on the Pure Vape syringe review

Bert: I would get Pure Vape syringes again, especially if there is nothing better on the shelf. Price wise you cannot beat it and the overall quality is good. They are not the strongest syringes out there, but far from being the weakest. Dollar for dollar Pure Vape is one of the best syringes out there. I rather pay a bit more for higher end stuff though and have to hit it less. I find more expensive stuff in the end often ends up costing the same if you have to hit is half as much.

Jesse: I am always looking for a good Sativa THC oil that can give me energy and help me focus. I found that with the Lemon haze strain from Pure vapes. There isn’t anything else better for the same price in my opinion. It’s important to note how smooth this distillate oil is when vaped. This is a high-quality THC oil at a cheap price. I highly recommend refilling a CCELL cartridge and using a CCELL Palm battery for the best results.

Fake Brass Knuckles Cartridges: Updated June, 2019

15
fake brass knuckles
Fake Brass Knuckles are all over the place.

Fake Brass Knuckles vape cartridges are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country sell them all the time. Here we show how to identify them and name the companies making fake Brass Knuckles cartridges.

Update 10/10/2018: Hologram picture and information added

Update 01/16/2019: Added video guide comparing fake vs real

Update 02/02/2019: Companies producing fake Brass Knuckles

Update 5/2/2019: CA! symbol information

Update 5/3/2019: Strain specific packaging  not matching strain stickers

Update 6/24/2019: Fake Connected carts information

Brass Knuckles fake cartridges are here for a while

As long as some states have legal marijuana dispensaries and others do not, fake Brass Knuckles cartridges are here to stay. The most common place to find these fake vape carts is in illegal states. They also might be at some legitimate operations as well, particularly in California where regulations are lax. See our multi-brand post on fake cartridges for information on other brands that have counterfeits out there.

See our video guide to spotting fake Brass Knuckles below. Keep reading for the more in depth explanation.

Easiest way to spot most fakes

Real Brass Knuckles have a hologram on the side. Most fake Brass Knuckles cartridges do not. This is the first thing to look for and if there is no hologram you instantly know you have a fake. Take a look at the picture below, the hologram is in the top right left corner.

brass knuckles hologram
The lack of a hologram is the easiest way to identify Fake Brass Knuckles cartridges.

If you have the hologram most likely you are using a legit cartridge. No hologram and you instantly know you are using a fake. Photo grabbed from Reddit user throwaway725199.

Strain label and package mismatch, the second easiest way to spot fake Brass Knuckles

fake brass knuckles cart
Napalm OG strain packaging, Do Si Dos sticker?

The fake BK cart pictured above was recently sent to us by email from one of our readers. It’s an obvious fake because we previously reviewed Napalm OG from a legit dispensary in Las Vegas. Napalm OG is the strain too, so there is no way this is a legitimate Do Si Dos cartridge. It has to be fake if the packaging does not match the strain. Most BK carts are not strain-specific packaging, but there are a few that are.

Strain specific packaging not matching the sticker = fake.

What is a fake Brass Knuckles cartridge?

A Brass Knuckles cartridge is considered a fake when it contains oil that was not made by the actual company, Brass Knuckles. In China, companies make cartridges with Brass Knuckles branding, logos, and packaging. We are not sure if the real company is able to pursue any of the Chinese makers legally, because there might not be a trademark since technically Brass Knuckles is a federally illegal product.

Real Brass Knuckles has had issues anyway

The think about Brass Knuckles vape cartridges is even the real ones have problems. Most recently they have tested clean. However, it is hard to trust them after multiple failures for pesticides. There is even a lawsuit against Brass Knuckles currently ongoing for somebdy that got sick from their carts. See our vape pen pesticides and solvents test page for Brass Knuckles testing information, current and past.

THC vape cartridges better than Brass Knuckles

There are several brands better than Brass Knuckles. In California: Stiiizy Pen, Justdab, Select Oil and stick e vape are all available and better than Brass Knuckles. In Nevada: Select Oil, Kabunky, and BaM pods are all better than Brass Knuckles. Next time you are at any dispensary and thinking of picking up Brass Knuckles, ask the budtender what they think is better. I have never had any budtender at any shop say Brass Knuckles was the best they had.

Advertising plays a role

Some brands pay a lot for advertising and celebrity endorsements. This does not ensure a good product nor are we stating that advertising means it is a bad product. G Pen products are not good but they got Snoop Dogg. Brass Knuckles strength is actually pretty good, but the pesticides issue makes it lack some trust, and they got Xzibit. Nike had Tiger, and Nike golf clubs were never considered good. The point is try the stuff yourself and read reviews that are not paid for. You will be surprised at the quality some of these unadvertised brands are delivering.

Key things to look for to identify fake Brass Knuckles vape carts

Misspelling

All the lettering should be worded correctly. China is notorious for misspelling things and this is an easy thing to spot. Also, it’s an easy thing for them to fix, so this might not last forever. This reminds me of the odd English formats you would see in Japanese made video games back in the NES days.

No strain information on bottom of packaging

Real Brass Knuckles cartridges have strain information on the bottom. When that information is lacking, you can be sure it is a fake cartridge.

Brass Knuckles should make a list of verified vendors

We hope in the future Brass Knuckles puts up a list of verified vendors. This would be the most efficient way to buy real cartridges. Unfortunately, their system of determining fakes is actually less effective than this page. Not the best organized company, hence the previous pesticide issues.

CA! symbol does not always mean real or fake

We read elsewhere that some claim if there is now CA! symbol, then the Brass Knuckles cartridge is fake. That’s not the case. If it is being sold in California, it should have a CA! symbol on it. However, Brass Knuckles is also sold in Nevada, where there is no CA! symbol on the packaging.

Likewise, having a CA! symbol in California does not always mean it is real. Make sure to check other indicators for authenticity as well.

Fake Connected Cannabis Co cartridges

Connected Cannabis Co. is a cannabis company from Sacramento, CA. They make collaboration cartridges with vape brands and recently had one made for Brass Knuckles and Friendly Farms. This sub-category of fake Brass Knuckles is widely distributed. Take a look at the pictures below.

fake connected cartriges
They even got the side sticker.
fake connected cannabis
The hardware is really close to the real thing here.

Fake Connected carts are one of the harder ones to determine as real or fake. However, they are one of the more widely faked Brass Knuckles cartridges. If you see a Connected vape cart and it’s not at a legit dispensary, I would assume it is fake.

Here are the companies in China making fake Brass Knuckles cartridges

For ones that had a picture I am including a picture so you can identify fakes better. The picture of each company’s fake will be below their information. Please add any data you may have in the comments section or discuss fake brass knuckles here on our forum. This page will be updated as new fakes are found.

Deep Roots Harvest Mesquite: Very Expensive Cartridges and Extracts, Some Good Bud Deals

Deep Roots Harvest is a dispensary and cultivation facility located in Mesquite, Nevada. It is the only dispensary in Mesquite. This review is more about the dispensary, but their cultivated buds are featured at the dispensary and are some of the best deals. At the same time, their cartridge prices were extremely high in September 2018 but have come far down in October of 2021.

Pros

  • Weed specials are really good deals
  • There is a dispensary in Mesquite
  • Fast service
  • Great staff
  • Prices have improved recently

Cons:

  • High non-special weed prices
  • Closes at 8pm
  • Could not find Nevada’s top weed brands

If you are passing through Las Vegas anyway, you probably want to check out NuWu dispensary or Essence Tropicana West.

Deep Roots Mesquite has an OK bud selection, kind of weak for Nevada

deep roots harvest entrance
Through the gate and down on the right you go.

I could not find my favorite flower brands here: Cannabiotix, The Grower Circle, or Remedy. It seemed to be mostly if not all Deep Roots Harvest brand, which is still pretty good, but I have yet to see buds from them reach the levels of quality of the my top three. Only been to Deep Roots three times though, so have not tried it all.

Some stuff I picked up there. Cartridges from W Vapes and 8 Fold. W Vapes syringe was from Essence Strip.

Prices in 2018 were way too high, except the bud special

In 2018 I paid $100 for a one gram W Vapes cartridge plus tax. Almost everything here for extracts, especially cartridges, is high priced. Nevada is already price shock for Cali tokers, but Mesquite is mega shock. I asked why it is so expensive here, answer was “supply and demand.” Nevada Made Marijuana in Laughlin is the only dispensary in their town too, but the prices are much more reasonable, and the selection much better.

Concurrent with our Deep Roots Wendover re-visit, we noticed the prices at Deep Roots Mesquite have also come down to reasonable levels, with cartridges around $35 per half gram and other quantities scaled accordingly.

deep roots harvest packagin
Packaging is cool. See Nevada?

Flower prices are decent as long as you get a quarter and up. They usually have a special on one of the Deep Roots Harvest strains for $65 a quarter. Those are great deals and there has been a deal going every time. The Deep Roots Harvest buds are good, but are not super top notch. The Alien OG tested at 26% and it was pretty good, especially for $65 a quarter.

Deep Roots Harvest in Mesquite does have a great staff that moves quickly

All the staff is very friendly. Service is very fast and they are quick about showing you different items. Its not the staff’s fault they have such high prices.

Easy parking and not that hard to find, but you may need navigation

Deep Roots is a couple miles off the freeway. You probably will need navigation to find it. The last time I went there my phone died and I could not find it. In Mesquite, a lot of the streets look the same and so does the desert. It closes at 8pm which is a bit of a downer too.

deep roots harvest mesquite nevada
A view of the entire Deep Roots cultivation and dispensary complex. Dispensary entrance on the right in back.

In conclusion, if you are going to Las Vegas anyway or passing through, you are best off going to NuWu dispensary or Essence off of Tropicana for all your extract purchases and to get best of best level buds. I would still stop by Deep Roots Harvest on the way in Mesquite, just to check out the bud special though. Their cartridges have come down to far more reasonable levels, so we can get over our 2018 sticker shock.

Kudos to Deep Roots for their improvement! It goes to show, some businesses just need time to readjust their strategy.

Stiiizy vs Alpine : Pre-filled Cartridge Standoff!

0
Stiiizy vs hermes 3
Stiiizy Pen is still unbeatable!

Stiiizy and Alpine are two of the most popular THC oil cartridge brands out today. We already have comprehensive reviews of Stiiizy and Alpine Vapor cartridges individually. Here, you will see the side by side comparison of the two prefill vape carts.

Stiiizy vs Alpine – Stiiizy takes the spot!

Stiiizy vape cartridge overall score: 9.6

Stiiizy pen review summary
Stiiizy pen got an almost perfect score. Great taste, oil quality, and strength.

Alpine vape cartridge overall score: 5.7

Alpine vapor review summary
Alpine vapor has great taste and oil quality but lacks strength.

Stiiizy Pen is still unbeatable!

We have tried and tested a lot of prefilled cartridges and Stiiizy pen always stands out. It offers an awesome vaping experience at a lesser price. Great design and built, oil quality, and taste. Everything that you would ask for!

Alpine vapor though lacks good design and strength, it offers a great taste that will make you surely enjoy the true taste of cannabis.

More information on Alpine vapor cartridge can be found here and info on Stiiizy can be found on this page.

CCELL Palm Review : Long Lasting Battery Works Excellent With CCELL Cartridges

CCELL® palm review
The CCell Palm is a very reliable vape cartridge battery that outperformed other pull draw systems.

The CCELL Palm is the battery recommended for use with CCELL cartridges, which have become the standard for 510 threaded prefilled oil carts, but they also work with most 510 threaded carts. Here we review the CCELL Palm in its entirety after prolonged use. Overall, we found it to be a very reliable vape cartridge battery that outperformed other pull draw systems, particularly on  CCELL cartridges. If you are looking for something a little more compact with identical performance, check out our CCELL Silo review.

Design is effective for oil use on the CCELL Palm

ccell palm
The CCELL Palm design is great for prefilled THC oil carts.

The battery made by CCELL comes with two magnet connectors to connect cartridges. These magnets look different than the ones I have used previously as they have a little grip on them. I tried these magnets on other batteries as well and they do seem to work. On some batteries you need to loosen it a little bit to get airflow going well, but I still found this easier than switching magnets.

Build Quality is excellent, I dropped this vape battery a bunch of times

ccell palm battery front
The build is strong and protects carts when you drop it.

I dropped my CCELL Palm at least four times with a glass cartridge inside. Never had any issues at all! This cartridge is placed in the battery, preventing the cartridge from breaking. Nothing felt loose or jiggly in the CCELL Palm like I have seen in some cheap quality batteries. Build quality is top notch on this device!

Battery Life and Charging: CCELL Palm is pretty standard

CCELL Palm battery charges with a micro USB and a cable is included. So far we have not seen a vape battery with a USB-C charging port, but that may be coming soon.
The light blinks while it is charging and goes solid when the battery is full.

I distributed my use on the Palm through a number of cartridges. I do believe putting that to a ratio of one single cart, you probably can finish about 60% of a half gram cartridge before you need to charge again. So two charges and you should get through a half gram no problem.

CCELL Palm vape battery has a great hit strength for a pull draw

ccell palm battery
Easy to see how much you got left.

I typically pick up a pull draw battery as my go to. During this CCELL Palm review, I ended up using it as my main battery and still am at the current time. It easily fits all the cart sizes I have tried so far.

The Palm hits especially well on authentic CCELL cartridges

On every other cartridge, the Palm vape battery worked well as expected. It shined substantially when connected to an authentic CCELL cartridge. Combining these two together gives you a very strong hit! See the video below.

Using the same cartridge on my commonly used push button battery did not yield as big of a hit as the pull draw CCELL Palm.

CCELL Palm batteries are usually about $25, but a lot cheaper at DC Alchemy

At Nevada Made Marijuana in Laughlin they are $25 and slightly cheaper with a medical discount. I saw a Select Oil version at NuWu for $30. Online it seems to be $24.95 at most stores, but DC Alchemy gave us the coupon code DABCONNECTION. Use the code and you can now buy it here for $17.49 shipped. Cheaper than eBay and from an authorized CCELL reseller! Keep an eye on our cheapest CCELL products list for other great deals on CCELL hardware.

ccell vape battery
Overall, the CCELL Palm turned out to be a great vape battery.

In conclusion, the CCELL Palm has become one of my favorite battery. It hits exceptionally well on authentic CCELL cartridges and still good on other ones.

How To Fill A CCELL Cartridge With a Syringe of Distillate or CO2 Oil

7
how to fill ccell cartridge

This is how you fill a CCELL cartridge with a CO2 oil or distillate syringe. it works way better if you have a syringe tip. Otherwise, you have to drop it in a piece by piece. The basic instructions here apply to almost any 510 threaded vape cartridge you are trying to fill with a cannabis concentrate syringe.

This syringe did not have a threaded end, which made it harder because it popped off from too much pressure. You can help prevent that pop-off on un-threaded cartridges by preheating the syringe for 3-5 seconds with a lighter.

We used a W Vapes syringe in this video. Yes, I know my battery is pink, but I am giving away to our readers the popular colors of the CCELL Palm. See our 710 giveaways page for the latest weekly giveaways.

W Vapes Syringe Review : Fire CO2 Oil, Surprisingly Good Taste

W Vapes is known mostly for what their name says, vapes. Here we reviewed the W vapes syringe that contains CO2 oil. It turned out to be an excellent quality CO2 oil with high strength. The flavor was good. Better than almost all other CO2 oils I have tried, except for what was found in 8 Fold’s vape cartridge. This syringe was purchased at Essence Las Vegas on the Strip.

W Vapes Syringe Review Rundown:

Pros: High quality, strong, surprisingly good taste, comes with syringe tip

Cons: Distillate tastes better than CO2 oil (reviewer’s opinion), tip of syringe should be threaded as it can pop off

UPDATE 5/9/2019: These have gotten even better and prices are lower at many places ($35-37 for 500ml). Value, taste, and strength scores increased.

W Vapes makes a mean, potent CO2 syringe

This syringe from W Vapes I tried was the Jenny Kush strain, a sativa dominant hybrid. This was one of the better CO2 oils I have tried in syringe form.

w vapes syringe review
Nice packaging. This oil had great coloring.

Packaging was very nice but a bit hard to open. I like that it is clearly marked CO2 oil so there is no guessing what it is.

Strong CO2 oil in the W Vapes syringe and the test results prove it

As you can see below, this W Vapes Jenny Kush syringe tested in at 84%. W Vapes had an issue before as seen in our vape pen pesticides and residual solvents test list on their California vape cartrige, but this syringe was from Nevada, where batch testing is standard.

w vapes syringe test results
W vapes test results were good on this syringe. 84% THC!

The syringe by W Vapes had excellent quality oil

You can see the oil in the pic below taken in lower light than the featured image shot. We cannot always judge concentrates by their look, but this W Vapes syringe hits as good as it looks.

w vapes syringe
Lower light shot of the W vapes syringe.

When burning on a joint the oil was smooth as well. The name is W vapes but you can pretend it is W Joints too.

Thanks W Vapes, we love syringe tips

It can be frustrating to get a syringe and not really be able to fill anything up with it because the tip is too blunt. W Vapes syringe tip shown below.

w vapes syringe tip
THANK YOU W VAPES! You included a syringe tip. Other companies should follow your lead.

The syringe would be better if it was threaded on the end like the tip is. W Vapes if you read this, please make the syringes threaded. Otherwise it can pop right off as you can see when I used it in our video on how to fill a CCELL cartridge.

Throwing in another in pic below of the featured image so you can clearly see it in the light. The look is awesome.

w vapes syringe oil
Looks clean and tastes about as good as CO2 oil can taste. Cell phone shot!

It was worth the cost, and lasted quite a while

I used the W Vapes syringe to lace oil on five joints and still had enough to fill up about 2/3 of a 500ml CCELL cartridge. The oil was thick and it lasted quite well.

w vapes oil on ccell cartridge
The W Vapes syringe in a newer style CCELL cartridge was better than their vape cartridge they sell.

On the back of the packaging it says not to eat it. I ate a little before reading this and it tasted pretty good, but I do not recommend eating it. Works great on joints too. See our distillate on a joint how to video. It also applies to CO2 oil syringes like this one. This would be a great oil to try in the Stiiizy vape. Not sure if it would be too thick and next time will try it.

w vapes syringe back of box
It says do not eat on the back, I ate a little. Tasted good.

In conclusion, I would get a W Vapes syringe again, but would probably go for a distillate if it was available and was something I knew for sure was good. But W Vapes CO2 syringe vs any random syringe, I am going with the W Vapes. Curious to test a distillate from W Vapes if I can find one.

What was your experience with W vapes syringes? Leave a comment below or discuss in our forum!

Airvape OM Review : Dual Quartz Atomizer

airvape om review
airvape om review
The Airvape OM is smaller than the Stiiizy wax pen.

The Airvape OM was excellent to use with prefilled cartridges and that’s where it ended. Keep reading our Airvape OM review to find out why we are not recommending this as a wax pen. This is an average wax pen with a premium price, but it works great as a prefilled oil pen. We tried many different types of cannabis concentrate with it and were not able to produce good enough clouds. It still delivered the effects of the cannabis extract, but I would carry something larger to get a better hit.. It turned out to be great for prefilled cartridges, that’s the only thing we can recommend it for in our Airvape OM review.

Familiar design quality similar to many other average wax vaporizers.

I like the glass magnetic mouthpiece for this vape pen. Its keychain ring makes it a more convenient portable vaporizer. It looks like a keychain light which makes it more discreet to have. Unfortunately, the placement for the button to vape is in an inconvenient location. It’s uncomfortable having to press the button at the bottom of this vape pen to use it. This location was a bad choice and makes vaping difficult.

airvape om review
Great for prefilled THC oil cartridges but not so good as a wax pen. Look closely at the top right glass mouthpiece and distillate THC oil can be seen.

The Airvape OM has three preset temperatures indicated by the color of its light. The red light indicates 4.0v which is its highest temp setting. The blue light represents the medium temperature at 3.2v. The white light color is the lowest temperature setting at 2.4v. We discovered the Airvape OM could vape leftover THC oil in our CCell cartridges that our other vape pens failed. We were able to vape every last bit of THC oil distillate with the Airvape OM wax pen.

The quartz glass wax atomizer was only sufficient with small amounts of cannabis extract. More than .2 of a gram of THC oil or wax would overwhelm the vaporizer and prevent it from adequately vaping. Although it has a screen I was still able to taste the distillate THC oil because of flooding it with too much of it. Only a pinch of cannabis extract will allow very small vape clouds.

airvape om atomizer
Adding distillate oil the Airvape OM wax pen.

Vaping cannabis extract tip: We recommend refilling a ccell cartridge with a syringe to maximize the number of sessions you can get from THC distillate oil. A ccell cartridge is going to give a significant amount more vapor as opposed to a wax pen atomizer like the Airvape OM. We also recommend refilling Stiiizy pods with distilliate oil for stonners on a budget.

Overprice wax vape pen with a short battery life.

airvape om charging
Doesn’t take long to charge and can last a full day of use with a prefilled THC oil cartridge.

The battery life of the Airvape OM can last a day when vaping a prefilled cartridge heavily. The best temperatures are medium and high for vaping prefilled THC oil cartridges and wax. The battery for this wax vaporizer didn’t last very long on a full charge when using it to vape wax. The Airvape OM wax pen isn’t practical for those who intend on vaping a lot with it. The USB charger connection makes it easy to always be able to find a place to charge this portable wax vaporizer.

The Airvape OM price is currently $69.99 on their official website. There are many other wax pen options that we can recommend for less the price. The quartz glass atomizer was a big let down with its lack of clouds when vaping cannabis extract with it. I did not experience a smooth vaping experience compare to other cheaper vaporizers I tried. If I were looking at buying an Airvape OM for the wax pen portion, I would spend more for an Omicron v5 at $87 or if looking for a cheaper option pick up a Source orb 3 for $40. Both are substantially better wax pens than the Airvape OM.

Airvape OM review reveals an underperforming wax vaporizer.

Airvape om complete kit
Its suppose to cover a 510 thread prefilled cartridge however it will only work with a small atomizer and removing the mouthpiece from a prefilled cartridge and attaching it to the end of the metal housing.

Unfortunately, we have another average wax vape pen to warn our visitors to stay away from. It might look cool but it fails to provide a high-quality vaping experience. I was not able to use this vape pens metal cover for my prefilled cartridges because they wouldn’t fit. This wax pen includes a short metal cover and a longer one as seen in the image above. Let us know about your experience using this wax pen in the comments.

In concluding our Airvape OM review, we can not advise buying this wax pen. Many hours of use were put into trying the quartz atomizer with various cannabis extracts. We also tried more than a few 510 thread prefilled THC vape cartridges. There’s a lot of room for improvement with this vape pen that we would like to see on the next version. It works great as a prefill oil pen, but $70 for just a battery is expensive.

Kushy Vape Review : Flavor and Effect Was Decent, Build Quality Good

Kushy Vape is made by Kushy Punch, which is more known for its extremely powerful edibles. This review covers the Kushy Vape cartridge. This vape had a nice clean oil to it, but there is room for improvement on strength.

Update 10/10/2019: Kushy Punch was recently found selling products illegally. For the time being, we cannot recommend this brand.

Kushy Vape had great design and build.

The build quality of the cartridge was great. It appears to be a CCell variant or similar reproduction. The metal tip made for a solid feel. You could really feel the weight of the cartridge and it made it feel like it was of high build quality.

Oil Quality: Seems like made through a good process, but feels trim run.

The oil quality on the Kushy Vape was hard to call. The strain I used was called Focus. You can tell the process used to make it was very good. I do get the feeling that it is a trim run though as the high does not last that long. It is reminiscent of hitting trim run dabs.

kushy vape cartridge
You can tell the oil was made through a good process, despite the lack of strength.

The high comes and goes a lot faster than the nug run. I felt like I had to keep hitting the Kushy Vape cartridge a lot to keep the feeling going. It did keep my focus though. The feeling. although short-lived, was really focused and clear.

Kushy Vape cartridges have OK strength, but it does not last long.

Again back to I think this is trim run. It is strong initially but the high seems just not to last. I cannot get the strength out of it to last I would get on carts from Select Elite or Stiiizy. Every 10 minutes I had to hit it quite a bit.

Taste: It Seemed like not much flavor was added if any, and I like it that way.

The flavor was clean and tasted like wax. Did not taste like terpenes were added for flavor. They are minimal if they are in the cartridge. I prefer this. Some of you might prefer more flavor to be added though.

The Kushy Vape cartridge was a decent value with the discount, but a bit much for full retail.

My Kushy Vape cartridge was only $30 for a full gram. I purchased it at a weed farmer’s market that is now shut down. Everything there was wholesale price. So I assume the true price is $50-60/gram. I probably would not pay that much for this cartridge.

For the San Diego area, where this cartridge was purchased, Stiiizy and stick e vape are two choices I would put ahead of Kushy Vape’s oil cart.

The vape cart by Kushy Vape was very efficient. It lasted for a lot of puffs.

Efficiency was excellent. Kushy Vape uses a standard CCell style cartridge that delivers reliable, predictable efficiency. I got a lot of puffs out of this cart and there were no loss f oil or leaking issues at all. This category is becoming less and less important as cartridges improve, and we may be removing it in the future once the vast majority of carts have no efficiency or leaking issues.

Value: I got mine cheaper than normal, but at normal prices value is OK

I paid $30 for a full gram from someone who distributes the cartridges and sold it to me for much less than it normally costs, which is $50-60. For what I paid it’s a steal. If I was going to pay $50 or $60 though, I would probably go with another brand.

kushy vape back of box
The technology they talk about seems fine, but please give us that nug run playa.

I would take a Justdab, Stiiizy, Select Oil, or Kabunky (review coming soon!) half a gram over this Kushy Vape full gram. Those are nug run, or at least seem like it enough to make it seem that much better. All three of those mentioned carts I got in half grams and lasted almost as long as the Kushy Vape. There’s nug run vs. trim run for you. I should note our rating here reflects the retail price, not the sweet price I got that day.

In conclusion, Kushy Vape cartridges are OK. The oil is well made, but I am pretty sure it is made from trim, not nug, which is common. But that makes the difference between fire and not-fire. If someone wants a not too strong, focused high, it would be a decent choice for them. For the let’s get mega stoned average DabConnection reader, it would be a pass, as we go for the fire.

Plug Play Vape Review : Possibly The Strongest THC Oil Pen Out There

plug and play vape review

Plug Play vape cartridges are only available around the Los Angeles area. This is not your typical vape pod cartridge system. Plug Play pods contain premium THC oil. It only takes one puff to experience an instant head change. The pod design provides a superb vaping experience backed with a lot of strength. Doing this Plug Play vape review was a consistently strong dabbing experience. Vaping is very smooth, and the pods are capable of emitting big vape clouds.

Update: March 8, 2018: Plug and Play has relabeled their brand to Plug Play vape

UPDATE 12/30/19: Plug Play now uses CannVerify on their products. See this post for updates on packaging and a demo shot of the CannVerify process.

Recently, Plug Play made our best cartridges California list!

Design and build quality of Plug Play vape cartridges are brilliant!

These are ceramic heating based pods that make all the difference! Vaping performance is incredible! It feels closer to a dab rig more so than any other vape cartridge that I’ve tried. The ceramic heating gives a clean potent hit for each vape. The design of this vape pen conceals its THC oil pods for discreteness. Plug Play vape pods are very durable and resistant to breaking from drops because its made from plastic. No glass to crack.

The back of the Plug Play vape battery box shows it is 500mah.

There were some minor design flaws in our eyes that kept this vape pen from being 100% perfect. They are taking the Apple approach and trying to lock its customers into having to buy their charging cable if it’s lost.

The Plug Play vape cable originally was not a standard micro-USB charging cable. Update 7/24/2018: Charger is now standard micro-USB. It used to have pins that magnetically snap onto the vape pen. The battery fully charges within an hour and lasts a couple of days of heavy use which is the benefit of the cable. Most of us probably would have preferred to see USB-C (aka Thunderbolt) being used here, which is the new standard on Android devices, and charges faster than standard USB 3.0.

In our Kandypens Prism review, we found the lighting charging port to be a nice bonus. It’s nice to be able to find a cable cheap and easy, even if it is not for your phone type.

Plug Play charging connection has three battery connection points.

Updated 7/2018 – Plug and play made the switch to a micro USB charging connection.

Plug Play updated their charging connection to a micro-USB in July 2018.

Premium THC oil is outstanding and stronger than most.

The Plug Play vape pod packaging claims it pods are filled with grade A cannabis solventless extract. The THC oil is so thick that it does not move. The color of the THC oil is a beautiful gold transparent. This premium THC oil will set the standards for those lucky enough to try it. Those who are after THC strength are going to enjoy the many potent vape cartridge options available.

The strength of Plug Play THC oil is the strongest I have tried so far.

plug and play vape pod
Incredibly strong THC oil prefilled vape pods from https://www.plugplayallday.com

I underestimated the strength of the Plug Play vape cartridges. The packaging states these pods average from seventy to eighty percent of THC content. What surprised me was these vape pod cartridges felt more powerful than others I’ve tried that reported higher THC amounts. These felt stronger than Stiiizy pods that claim they are 85% THC. Limonene and other parts play an effect here as well.

I was lucky enough to try four different strains from Plug Play, and they all had consistently high strength. What I liked about Plug Play vape cartridges is not having to chase after the THC. After two good hits, I could get the full desired effects from the THC oil.

plug and play vape cartridge review
I tried out four different pods from Plug Play.

I was the biggest Stiiizy vape pen fan for the longest because of the THC oil strength proclaimed at 85% on average. When I first had Stiiizy last year, I remember the strength being out of this world. After being a loyal Stiiizy vape pen user, I notice the strength felt like it was getting weaker. Then pops up online an independent lab test on Stiiizy from Instagram user datdude41510 which revealed a lower percent of THC found, only 68% of THC was detected in the lab test for the Stiiizy Hardcore OG strain.

I have refilled Stiiizy pods and found that Stiiizy overall is a pesticide-free and good quality oil, but the strength really comes from the hardware and not the oil itself. Stiiizy has found its hardware match with Plug Play vape pods.

Plug Play cartridges have some delicious tasting recipes.

The graphics don’t look great, but it’s the hit that matters.

Plug Play created the perfect blend of clean and potent THC oil with just the right amount of added terpenes. The terpenes are just a hint making it not overwhelming at all and leaving more room for potency. Plug Play vape cartridges are outstanding with Fire OG being my favorite among the four I tried. My second favorite was the Pineapple with a very refreshing hint taste of pineapples. The Apple Slushie reminded me of a green apple jolly rancher. The Strawberry Campagne vape cart was also very nice.  I found myself wanting more of as I came close to running out. I would buy all of these vape cartridge flavors again.

plug and play vape cartridges review
Plug Play vape is great for taking with on a hike.

Efficiently is on another level for prefilled cartridges and pods.

plug and play vape cartridge
Plug Play use ceramic coils.

There are no other vape cartridges or pods out there right now like Plug Play. The ceramic heating coils create smooth and potent hits similar to a dab rig. There is no burn on the throat from the vape from vaping Plug Play pods. It only takes one hit to feel a rush of THC transition you into being very high. The best example would be equivalent to smoking an entire joint of very high-quality indoor cannabis. The amount of time this vape cartridge system saves pays for itself. It just keeps getting better and better the improvement of vaping technology and ceramic heating coils were just the next logical step forward.

The number of puffs seem like a lot when you don’t need many.

The best thing about Plug Play is you do not need as much to feel medicated. I have a high tolerance and found myself needing only two full rips for a good quality session. Each puff will give a very strong effect so much that it’s almost unbelievable that it is coming from such a small device. A puff from Plug Play vape cartridges has much better airflow than other pods and cartridges I tried. It also had an excellent consistency for each puff without clogging like Stiiizy pods.

The Plug Play pods and vape pens are worth every cent!

This vaping brand offers the most convenience for vaping strong cannabis extract. The “Play” vape pen battery costs $20.00. The prefilled THC oil vape cartridges are called “Plug” and cost $55 on average for a full gram. We recommend this vaping set up for those who want an easy and the most efficient way to vape cannabis extract. The prefilled vape cartridges will keep you coming back for more! Let us know about your experience with this great vaping brand.

My number one recommendation before trying out Plug Play was the Stiiizy vape pen and their pods. I had spent well over a half a grand on Stiiizy pods as it became my number one go-to for my every day vaping use. There always felt like something was missing from Stiiizy pods and I found that with Plug Play. It is yet to see if this will be an exclusive oil pen form factor or if we will see it come out with other oil types. Thanks for checking out our Plug Play vape review. See our Reviews page for more vape cart reviews.
