Klutch DabTabs Review – Strain-specific Cannabis Concentrate Product

klutch dabtabs review

DabTabs are an innovative cannabis concentrate product. It’s a tiny piece of ceramic, which they call a “Dablet,” which is infused with cannabis concentrate.  In this case, the Klutch brand uses strain-specific full-spectrum CO2 oil, from its own top-shelf cannabis flower.  Klutch is one of the most popular cannabis brands here in Ohio. They also have some of the most popular strains too.  Each jar, here in Ohio, contains 17 “Dablets”, and each one is infused with 50 mg of cannabis concentrate.

You just shake a dablet out of the little jar and load it into your device.  I use this vaporizer called a Shatterizer DabTabs edition.  Mine came with an extra glass top, an extra DabTabs atomizer, and even one standard Ctech atomizer for regular concentrates.  I’ve read that people have success with using DabTabs in standard bangers and also e rigs like the Puffco Peak, but I’ve just stuck with the Shatterizer, because It’s easy to use and it pumps out the vapor!

Pros:

  • 100% cannabis derived cannabinoids and terpenes
  • Innovative, almost no mess concentrate option in DabTabs
  • It’s much easier to track usage and see how much you have left, in contrast to traditional concentrates.
  • Others have success using a regular banger and torch, but I just never got the hang of that, so I haven’t tried it myself.
  • State maximum allowed THC percentage (70%)

Cons:

  • High price at most dispensaries, but some places have them for much less.
  • There are a lot of negative reviews and misconceptions about Dabtabs.  People don’t understand what they are buying, and then get mad at the company.
  • Dabtabs work great in the Shatterizer DabTabs edition vaporizer.  It’s a pain if you have to buy that device to use the DabTabs.

Recommendations: I really like these Dabtabs so far!  I just got my medical card in July, after years of dreaming about going to dispensaries.  I’ve tried a bunch of vape carts and concentrates and flower too, and while I love concentrates like live hash rosin and live resin, they’re really messy and also difficult to dose accurately.  I have live wax and live hash rosin that I got last week on sale, and I really have no idea how much I have left or how much I use in each dab.  It’s another story completely with these Dabtabs!  I don’t have to worry about storing them properly, right side up, like regular concentrates, and you can even just tape a label on each little bottle and stick them in your pocket.

Also, the Shatterizer Dabtabs Edition has a nifty little case that attaches by a magnet to the bottom of the battery, that can hold a few Dabtabs.   I guess my only request would be that Klutch starts labeling the actual jars, just so it’s easier to remember which is which.  I’m not a big fan of the packaging, but I’m eccentric in that regard.  I always have to carefully cut the clear plastic, and make it like a clamshell, so that I can put the little jar back and it will stay there.

I love how the Dabtabs I’ve tried so far are so much like their similar strains of flower, and that is precisely what I was hoping.  Recently I’ve started taping small labels onto each bottle, to remember which strains they are.  That is a necessity when you have eight bottles of Dabtabs.  Talk about a “first world problem”!

Cannabis-derived terps

I recently decided to try some DabTabs, after a few months of thinking about it.  The main reason I didn’t try them sooner was the price at the dispensary where I usually go.  When I could get nearly a gram of live rosin concentrate for less money than these DabTabs, I had always gone with the live rosin in the past.  This changed after I found that one dispensary sells them for a much lower price, and I made the hour drive and bought one jar of them last week.  Sherbhead was my choice then because that’s one of my favorite strains and I’ve had it in flower before.  I didn’t have the Shatterizer at that point, so I barely tried to use them.  I stuck one in my Dynavap, and that worked okay, but not really.

After I got my Shatterizer, I pretty much fell in love instantly!  I ended up using the standard concentrate coil for some live wax and live rosin I got too, and it works awesome.  I made the drive back up to Bloom, just a couple of days ago, and I bought four new DabTabs strains.  Managed to get my hands on OG Kush, Orange 43, Sunday Driver, and Super Lemon Dog.  I didn’t even mean to pick one indica and one Sativa, and one “O” and one “S” strain, but it turned out that way.

The nice budtender at Bloom recommended Sunday Driver, and so far it was a great suggestion.  Orange 43 is one of the most popular Sativa strains here in Ohio, if not the most popular, and that is the main topic of review for today.  Orange 43, or “O43” as it is abbreviated, is a cross between White Fire 43 and Orange.  Here in Ohio, they list O43 as a Sativa, and as far as I know, Klutch is the only cultivator in the state to offer this strain.  I have had it before and it’s a favorite for me.   I have had the Klutch Orange 43 strain flower, CO2 vape oil cart, and also CO2 oil DabTabs.

Orange 43 is possibly my favorite Sativa strain that I’ve tried so far out of any medical Cannabis products that I’ve tried.  I want to mention again that I’m still pretty new, so that’s not a huge statement.  From what I’ve read online and heard from other people, Orange 43 is one of the most popular Sativa strains in Ohio.  My personal favorite Sativa is Grow Ohio’s Apollo 13.  I picked up some of that a while ago on sale, and I still have some that I’m saving.  That one is a phenotype of the legendary strain, Jack Herer.

Not to get too sidetracked here, the aroma of these DabTabs is remarkable.  Upon opening the tiny, plastic bottle, you can immediately smell the cannabis aroma, and with Orange 43, the citrus notes are unmistakable.  I think it’s especially interesting to note how each strain of DabTabs has its own unique scent, and the different strains are all a slightly different shade too.  I think that these are all really good signs because it shows that Klutch is using unique strains for each different DabTabs option.

So far, for the last few days, I have tried to exclusively use the DabTabs I bought, and no other cannabis products.  That has been going well, and I got a really good selection for any time of day.  For both of the Sativa leaning strains I got, they had some CBD to compliment the THC.  I can appreciate that, and also I really enjoy their nice, light, energizing citrus terpenes as well.  Both Orange 43 and Super Lemon Dog have really nice, citrus notes in their flavor and aroma, and they’re both great for daytime.

On the other hand, the more Indica leaning strains, the OG Kush and Sunday Driver, have zero CBD, and the OG Kush has more of a gassy, funky flavor and scent.  The Sunday Driver has some nice, sweet notes to it, and reminds me of some Grandaddy Purple, or Grandpa’s Breathstar, which has GDP as one of its parent strains.  I have really been enjoying both of these strains later in the day when I want to wind down and relax.

One thing that I really love about these Klutch DabTabs is that they make it so much easier to tell exactly how much you are using and how much you have left.  With conventional concentrates, you have to estimate how much you load each time, and how much you have left.  It’s much more difficult to judge how long traditional concentrates will last for me, compared to these DabTabs.

Klutch Quality

Klutch is one of the most famous Cannabis brands here in Ohio if you look on the Ohio Marijuana subreddit or just look up Ohio Marijuana reviews, and for good reason.  They have even recently started producing and selling their own live hash rosin and live hash rosin jam.  They are only the second Ohio brand to offer rosin, from what I’ve seen and read.

I’m a believer in the Entourage Effect, so I wish that Klutch would provide the terpene content for us.  I can taste and smell the terpenes when I vaporize these DabTabs, but it would be nice to know exactly which ones and how much there is in each strain.  I really like how each bottle of DabTabs has the maximum allowed THC percentage and also the maximum days allowance of THC too.  When I first got my medical card here, I was appalled to see the 70% maximum THC limit for concentrates and vapes. Since I learned about the Entourage Effect, I definitely appreciate our options more.

Another quirk of note in our medical cannabis system here is our “days allowance”.  I won’t go into too many details, but basically, one day’s worth of THC in a concentrate or vape cart is 590 mg.  This means that you will often see carts and concentrates that have 0.85 grams, or 850 mg of oil because 70% of that is right at the one-day maximum.  There are also full gram carts here, but they have lower THC content, to not have too much over the 590 mg limit, and they just have more CBD or terpenes than the other 0.85 gram options.

I recently read that one brand here, Certified Cultivators Carts, actually adds Delta 8 THC, to bring down the delta 9 percentage to the 70% allowed.  I thought that was interesting, but I don’t know how I feel about them only using delta 9, delta 8, and terpenes.  It seems like most people want a full spectrum option now, and would prefer the more standard CBD, CBG, CBN, and other minor cannabinoids that are in the actual flower.

Who would enjoy this?

I think that any fan of Klutch would really enjoy these DabTabs, but you should get either the Shatterizer DabTabs edition, or I’ve read that they work well in e rigs like the Puffco Peak.  Both of the budtenders that I saw when I bought DabTabs said that they use a standard banger and torch, and I remember the nice budtender specifically said she does cold start when I went on Saturday.  She also recommended the Sunday Driver strain, so I hope that I will see her again the next time I go to Bloom.

Good flavor and effects!

I really enjoy all of the Klutch products I’ve tried so far, but I wish they listed the terpenes on their labels.  From looking online, it says that their Sunday Driver has Limonene, Caryophyllene, Linalool, and Pinene.  Their Orange 43 has Terpinolene, Myrcene, Limonene, and Pinene.  Klutch Super Lemon Dog has Ocimene, Farnesene, Myrcene, Terpinolene, Pinene, and Limonene.  I can’t find a Klutch OG Kush, but under their Josh D brand, they have the terpenes as Limonene, Myrcene, Caryophyllene, and Linalool.

I recognized Limonene and Linaloool as the terpenes responsible for the citrus flavor and aroma of Limonene, and Linalool has a nice lavender scent and flavor.  A quick Google search shows that Humolene is the compound in hops, so it gives an earthy, spicy flavor and aroma.  Last, but not least, Caryophyllene is the compound found in black pepper, basil, and oregano, with a funky warmth similar to cinnamon and cloves.

These DabTabs recreate the experience of vaporizing the actual cannabis flower, so I think they probably also leave behind some smell.  It should dissipate quickly, but if you’re looking for a less conspicuous option, then maybe a distillate vape cart would be better.

klutch dabtabs

Similar Cannabis products for comparison

I’m not sure if comparable products to these DabTabs would be other concentrates or vape carts.  With the Shatterizer DabTabs Edition vaporizer, these DabTabs are nearly as convenient as vape carts, and actually are more convenient in some regards.  You don’t have to worry about putting the DabTabs in your pocket because you have to heat them up pretty high in order for the CO2 oil to have anything happen to it.  Also, with the Shatterizer, you have to be careful not to tilt it too far in one direction, because the Dablet will fall out of the atomizer.

It usually sticks to the inside of the glass top, from the reclaim that’s building up in there, and I just have to take off the top and pull out the Dabtab and put it back.  I think that people would really like these DabTabs, if they gave them a chance and also have the right hardware.  They offer a quick, easy, no-mess way to enjoy the top shelf cannabis strains that I know and love, and since I’ve found them for an affordable price, they have quickly become a favorite of mine.

Conclusion

I am so happy that I finally tried these Klutch DabTabs!  They looked interesting for a while, but the mixed reviews I read online combined with the high price tag had steered me to other concentrates or vape options in the past.  I love this Shatterizer DabTabs edition vaporizer too.  It’s so cool how you can watch the little Dablet, when you do the preheat function.  The top of it starts to look slick, and then bubbles form and pop, and vapor starts filling up the chamber.  It’s amazing how much vapor you can get from such a tiny piece of ceramic.   It is a pain that you need the right device in order to enjoy these DabTabs. But from my experience, I think it’s worth it.

P.S. I ended up going back to the dispensary and buying even more DabTabs, because of the “Green Friday” sales.  Now I have 8 different strains, and I think they will keep me medicated for a while.

CannaClear THC Carts : Unclear Origins

0
Cannaclear_fake

CannaClear is a THC vape cart brand which has been kicking around for years. It’s been so long that we can’t believe we haven’t covered it before, but consider the name is composed of two of the most generic prefixes and suffixes in cannabis carts, “canna” and “clear.” We found at least three other companies under the same name.

CannaClear is not to be confused with…

The Delta 8 brand. That’s a completely different outfit, albeit there’s bound to be confusion which could lead to crossover packaging. The Delta 8 CannaClear is a registered LLC, licensed, and reviewed by one of our staff.

There’s also a “cannaclear.de” which is described as cannabis product certification platform, ironically enough.

And there’s an industrial hemp cosmetics line in China by the same name.

alternative_CannaClear

Beyond that, we have tracked down other variations of the CannaClear name / logo / packaging that might have been counterfeit attempts or products set out to have the same name. One “official” Twitter account for CannaClearExtracts (in northern Cali, established 2016) links only to the Facebook page with the alternative logo / brand on that page. Note that the Facebook profile lists CannaClear as a “janitorial service.” Just one more detail we have to let go unexplained.

We believe CannaClear started out affiliated with a hiphop artist

We’ll cut to the closest thing we have to an answer right now: By the time we got to Instagram, we noticed many posts tagged “CannaClear” mentioned “AllBay.” They seem quite chummy.

AllBay_top_model_contest

That’s from April 2016. This AllBay outfit is all about plugging Cannaclear for awhile.

AllBayMusic+Cannaclear

AllBayMusic+Cannaclear2

AllBayMusic+Cannaclear3

Still plugging them as late as 2017. So OK, we dig up All Bay Music and lo and behold: scroll to the bottom right corner and they list their affiliates, starting with “CannaClearExtracts.com.” It actually links to a “.net” domain, but anyway they both seem long dead. Whois says the “.com” was registered in October of 2015 and renewed as late as June 2019. There never was a “.net.”

We’ve seen this before with hiphop artists and cannabis brands. Xzibit has owned Brass Knuckles, for instance. The infamous Runtz was supposed to be started by an artist of the same name. There seems to be an epidemic of musicians who launch vape cart brands with no license, regulation, or brand control, and then the bootlegs just pass around forever.

That’s our CannaClear theory. We also can’t find any trace of the packaging being sold on any of the usual packaging sites, despite the carts being rampant on the street. Since the carts don’t grow on trees, the only other possible explanation is a private distributor here in the states, maybe passing it around through underground sesh channels. All Bay Music is in San Francisco, naturally, so we’d assume the CannaClear carts would stay in north Cali. Yet this Reddit thread pegs them in Chicago, popular there for awhile. So they’re getting shipped around somehow.

ultrarefined_CannaClear

Further clues to CannaClear’s origins

We just may have found the graphic artist who did the logo, or at least an artist who worked on package design for an edible edition of CannaClear, which we have not seen anywhere else. It’s been nothing but carts as far as we find.

Behance_CannaClear_artist

We can top that: This listing is on a banana-republic-tier freelance job site (In freelancing, if it isn’t UpWork right now, it’s a rip-off). The patron is trying to get a copywriter for CannaClear back in 2016.

LocalSolo_CannaClear

You see the predominant CannaClear logo in the upper left? The green and blue one, most common form of the logo. Wait, let’s zoom in on that product box shot…

backwards_logo_CannaClear

They got it BACKWARDS! The graphic part in the circle is backwards and also a different color scheme. We know it isn’t a mirror-shot because the text “satisfaction 100% guaranteed” is running forwards. The text font of the name is different on the boxes too. The same person who put up the logo on the left put up the product photo on the right.

Is everybody associated with this brand as mad as a March hare???

CannaClear floods the streets with no license in sight

We hardly have space to scratch the surface with all the CannaClear dealers we’ve found. Starting with the LeafedOut plugs:

LeafedOut_CannaClear1

There’s a Chicago plug.

LeafedOut_CannaClear2

A Maryland CannaClear dealer.

LeafedOut_CannaClear3

Another in Illinois.

Facebook_CannaClear

The rarely-spotted Facebook plug.

Twitter_Sacramento_CannaClear

Twitter plug offering in Sacramento, California. We’re going with some screenshots here because when we post direct links, the accounts tend to vanish within hours for _some_ _strange_ _reason_.

We of course find the usual Instagram flood of copycat “official” Cannaclear vendors. We’ll spare the usual list to highlight a few oddballs.

Instagram_CannaClear_TM

With an uncommon amount of chutzpah, this user deigned to put the trademark symbol next to the CannaClear brand name (that is impossible in several dimensions at once), despite going private and linking to nothing but a revolting YouTube prank video. The video even has him doing this speech addressing concerns people have with CannaClear’s legitimacy, so he reassures us that these are good because “I know that my source is good” and “I’ve been puffing on this for about three weeks yo.”

MrTHC_CannaClear

Gosh, with reassurances like that, why do we even need lab tests? When my health is on the line, I’ll bet my lungs on the guy wearing his COVID-19 mask on his chin. /s

We’re going to designate “MrTHC” the new “iSmokeUnlicensedCarts,” since the latter YouTube channel has been inactive for a year now.

Back to Instagram:

Momma_CannaClearExtracts

The self-proclaimed “momma” of CannaClear also claims to be its founder and CEO. She also links back to the “janitorial” Facebook account. Uses the standard logo on Instagram, Facebook has the alternative. I’m telling you, “mad as March hares,” you can quote me.

Instagram_CannaClear

This account sports yet another variation on the standard CannaClear logo. We’ve seen a green one and a brown one mostly, and here somebody runs a Photoshop metal filter on it. You may have also noticed that sometimes there’s writing around the outside of the logo saying “established in” and a date. The dates range from 2000 to 2015 so far, or sometimes there is no date.

Instagram_CannaClearOfficial

Look who got “CannaClearOfficial”! No posts, one follower, the sixth version of the logo we’ve seen now.

Everybody is looking for CannaClear info and finding nothing

We’re reaching epic length for this blog post, so we’ll try to make this short and sweet. Suffice to say, thousands of Reddit vapers have found these cartridges and posted to ask if they’re fake. At this point, we’ve blown apart any possibility of the product being centrally produced, or else they’d be able to get the logo right. Even on the same page. So the answer would be a resounding “duh, yes, fake!”

  • 11 days ago: Redditor in Chicago we mentioned earlier
  • 24 days ago: Video shows that these cartridges are engraved on the bottom
  • 7 months ago: Sharp-eye Redditor did their own investigation, noted the different origin dates in different logos, also this is a “water clear” variation
  • 1 year ago: Notes fake lab tests alleged to be from SC Labs
  • 1 year ago: This user reports chest pain after hitting a CannaClear
  • 8 months ago: Readers suspect synthetics
  • 6 months ago: Different package, 2.2 grams?
  • 5 months ago: User reports “perfume” taste
  • 5 months ago: User reports new packaging with SC Labs stickers

About those SC Labs tests: We see these stickers on a lot of CannaClear boxes, but not all of them. However, the test itself is bogus. We scanned that QR Code on the Reddit post video of a CannaClear box and this is what we get:

SC_Labs_fake

In the first place, that’s not a CannaClear cartridge in the photo. They might as well have been testing rocks from Mars for all the relevancy this has to what you’re vaping. In the second place, it says right at the top of the lab test sheet:

“QUALITY ASSURANCE TEST ONLY – Not for retail sale”

So if you see a cart with a QR Code that leads to this page, that’s fraud right there.

We repeat this again and again around here, there is no information provided in a R&D / QA lab test that relates to the product in front of you. If it’s not a California COA, it’s not worth the paper it’s printed on.

I, for one, am fed up with this problem, and now call on all cannabis labs to STOP doing QA or R&D tests at all until they can stamp it in bigger letters across the entire sheet: NOT A VALID TEST. “If you see this test on a commercial retail product for sale, the vendor has committed fraud.” It is too easy for the general public to assume all lab tests mean the product is safe. They can’t read this fine print on a phone screen.

Conclusion: Fake fake fake!

I started out assuming this brand was a single-source black market product, not licensed and regulated, but better than a Chinese boof box brand. However, the clumsy parade of stupidity, ineptitude, and outright fraud have convinced me that CannaClear is not better than the worst of the faked brands. Stay away, avoid it like the plague, treat it like the Grim Reaper is trying to sell you Danks.

Oh, but look. They have their own coffee mug.

coffeemug_CannaClear

You know what they could have spent that money on instead? A LICENSE SO PEOPLE DON’T DIE FROM VAPING BOOF!

Readers, is this the most ridiculous fake cart saga you’re read yet? Why is it always the musicians’ brands that crash and burn so hard? Share your wisdom in the comments below or in our merry forums.

Wake and Bake

0
Wake_and_Bake

“Wake and Bake” is a common term in stoner slang. It means to hit cannabis as soon as you wake up in the morning, be it in the form of a pipe or bong, prerolled joint, vaping concentrates, or dabbing extracts. It is not commonly associated with other forms of cannabis consumption such as edibles, as the idea is to get a dose of THC into your system as soon as possible. And it is commonly considered the opposite end of the cannabis experience spectrum from couch lock.

The exact phrase is a little misleading, as being “baked” is associated more with sedative strains. It is slang derived from “Shake and Bake,” a popular instant recipe product sold for battering chicken and pork.

Only experienced stoner veterans Wake and Bake

Most casual cannabis users will find that consuming cannabis first thing in the morning will make them feel hazy for the rest of the day. With a serious tolerance built up, wake and bake will feel like one more thing you do to get going in the morning. People who take cannabis for medical reasons may also wake and bake in order to function throughout their day.

wake_and_bake_mug
We’re also seeing a class of professional user whose career is very 420-friendly. Some artists swear by cannabis’ properties to enhance creativity. Others find that certain strains of cannabinoids and terpenes give them an extra pick-me-up.

What makes a good Wake and Bake strain?

The strain of cannabis used for wake and bake is usually a Sativa strain, as opposed to the more sedative effects of Indica strains. Hybrids may also be good candidates, if they’re on the Sativa side. There are, as always, strains with exceptions to this rule, because an energizing weed strain is more a matter of terpenes.

When we say “energizing,”we mean a cannabis strain that produces a high often described as “motivating, uplifting, creative, stimulating” or “intellectual.” Not all cannabis strains need to leave you foggy-headed; some work as good as a stimulant and are often paired with coffee, espresso, latte, or an energy drink.

Terpenes, which contribute to the overall entourage effect, may have energizing effects of their own. Terpenes associated with an energizing effect include terpinolene, caryophyllene, and myrcene. Wake and bake strains may also be lower in THC while being higher in other cannabinoids such as Delta 8 or CBD, where the desired effect may be more of a mind and body high rather than simply getting stoned.

What strains are best for Wake and Bake?

Commonly recommended morning strains include:

  • Jack Herer
  • Blueberry
  • Lemon Kush
  • Sour Deisel
  • Green Crack

…or any of their derivative hybrids.

US Hemp Farm Bills

0
Obama_signing_bill

In the United States, a farm bill is a legislative tool of the federal government to set updates for policy regarding agriculture and food. Farm bills are a continuous legislative process similar to budgets and other rotating policy bills. They typically consist of a package of legislation affecting many individual areas pertaining to cultivation, trade, nutrition, and even environmental matters.

hemp_harvest

President Barrack Obama was the first to legalize hemp with the 2014 Farm Bill

The first US farm bill to carry an amendment allowing hemp cultivation was the 2014 Farm Bill signed by then-president Obama. It carried an amendment legalizing hemp production for research purposes, but only in those states which had already legalized industrial hemp production. The amendment to the bill was introduced by three representatives. The full text of the bill may be downloaded in PDF form here.

Some confusion exists to this day regarding the history of hemp’s federal legal status in the United States. This is because hemp and cannabis were not differentiated under federal law until the early 21st century. Up until that time, the cannabis strains which produce psychoactive effects when smoked, the hemps which make textiles but lack psychoactive effects, and even the hemp oil components such as CBD and Delta 8, were all classified as “pot” and banned as a federal schedule 1 controlled substance.

Obama had earlier signed the Rohrabacher-Farr Amendment in 2014, which prohibited the federal government from interfering with individual state laws regarding medical cannabis. This allowed a relaxed federal policy where states could decide their own cannabis policies.

Prior attempts to legalize industrial hemp farming had been introduced, but never acted upon.

Senator Mitch McConnell in 2014 assisted the conference committee process.

2018_Farm_Bill

The 2018 Farm Bill expanded hemp legalization

In 2018, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell introduced The Hemp Farming Act of 2018. It built upon Obama’s bill by defining non-psychoactive hemp as containing less than 0.3% THC. The bill also allowed the commercial production and trade of hemp with USDA oversight. It also explicitly included language detaining cannabinoids extracted from the plant. Then-president Donald Trump signed the bill into law.

Ironically, in introducing the bill to the Senate floor, McConnell referred to hemp as a “promising new market.” As we note in our hemp article, the United States founding fathers were supportive of hemp and the crop thrived as an early staple of US agriculture until the Marihuana Tax Act of 1937 introduced cannabis prohibition. Early US banknotes were even printed on hemp paper, with an illustration of a hemp farmer appearing on the reverse of one version of the ten dollar note.

A 2022 California Court decision ruled Delta 8 legal under the Farm Bill

In a ruling based on a lawsuit over counterfeit products, the California Federal Appeals Court ruled that delta 8 (and by implications all other alt-cannabinoids not named “delta 9 THC”) is specifically covered as legal under the Farm Bill and therefore entitled to legal protections such as trademark law.

Previously, alt-cannabinoids had existed on a legal gray area, so this is a historic ruling in the rapidly-evolving legal framework of cannabis. It should be noted that Farm Bill supporter Mitch McConnell has gone on the record stating that he was blind-sided by all the other cannabinoids besides THC, and therefore accidentally created a loophole for alt-cannabinoids. Yet the cat is already out of the bag now, with dozens of companies confidently producing alt-cannbinoid products in quantities and potencies never before seen.

Scientific progress in cannabis research was stunted by prohibition

As mentioned above, previous prohibition of cannabis as part of the War on Drugs made no allowance for THC content, or hemp derivative cannabinoids, under the prohibition of cannabis. The completely illegal status of cannabis caused a scientific bind, in which scientists could not legally obtain cannabis samples to study and discover different properties.

Research abroad, combined with previous knowledge of cannabis crops prior to prohibition, made it well-known that cannabis could be produced with minimal traces of the psychoactive compound THC, but this differentiation still couldn’t be legally classified without government-sponsored research. It is only with stubborn persistence and relaxation of prohibition at the state level that allowed this legal gridlock to break. Obama opening the way to conduct research was the first step in legalization at the federal level.

Purple Punch – Cannabis Strain

0
Purple_Punch_cannabis_strain

Purple Punch is a less common weed strain which is nevertheless popular for its relaxing effect and sweet taste. You can find it and many derivatives in cannabis vape and edible products.

The Purple Punch is a punchy strain

It is well-known for a sedating and euphoric effect with a heavy couch lock factor, being an Indica-leaning hybrid. Purple Punch is distinct in having a grape candy aroma and tangy, sweet taste. This is due to a balance of terpenes between limolene and pinene, with a hint of caryophyllene. The name resonates not just with the flavor, but the effects, which relax the body as well as the mind.

Purple Punch hails from Hawaii

Super Nova Gardens, of Kauai, Hawaii, is credited with creating the strain from a cross between Larry OG and Granddaddy Purple. Little else is known about its origins. Purple Punch is recommended for relieving stress-associated symptoms, but not physical symptoms since it’s low in CBD.

Couch Lock

0
couch lock

“Couch lock” is a term in stoner slang

It is the sensation of being physically relaxed to the point of sedation, as if you were incapable of getting up from the couch. It’s a feeling of mellowness, comfort, and relaxation. It brings about a deep-seated laziness. Some report it as feeling like you’re melting into the couch and your limbs weighing twice as much as normal.

Is Couch Lock Indica or Sativa?

Indica strains tend to have a reputation for couch lock. Sativa strains tend to be more energizing. Hybrids fall into this categorization too, being heavy on one side or the other of the divide. Note, however, that this is a general rule, with exceptions on both sides.

What makes Indica sedative?

Mostly it’s a matter of terpenes. There are several terpenes native to cannabis that are also sedatives on their own. Indica strains tend to carry more of them. But again, all cannabis strains tend to have some sedative effects, due to plain old THC.

Which strains are known for couch lock?

Super-potent Indicas have this reputation, including:

  • Fat Banana
  • Purple Queen
  • Royal Cookies
  • Critical Kush
  • Sherbet Queen
  • Sweet ZZ

How do I beat couch lock?

The biggest way to work against couch lock is to try strains noted for an energizing effect, to wit:

  •  Super Lemon Haze
  • Green Crack
  • Durban Poison
  • Sour Diesel
  • Jack Herer

You might also give some consideration to trying delta 8 THC instead! Delta 8 is the less potent THC alternative that still has psychoactive effects and binds to the same endocannabinoid receptors, but has a “less stony” effect. You can smoke delta 8 and still get things done.

In addition, you can take smaller hits or smoke less at a time. There’s always good old caffeine, which will help some. And in general, healthier living tends to get you back on your feet sooner.

Las Vegas Dispensary Deals: Saving You Money

0

Las Vegas Dispensary Deals and Discounts

Long story short: If you’re here looking for our old Las Vegas dispensary deals list, it has now moved to DankOil Las Vegas Dispensary Deals listing. That is an automated process, updated 24/7, year round.

And now sit back and let me tell you how that marvelous invention came to be…

Is Las Vegas Now the Weed Capital of the World?

Has there ever been a weed paradise like Las Vegas, Nevada? What a story this city has! From starting out as “America’s playground” coming up from the Rat Pack days and the birth of the casino industry there, becoming the Entertainment Capital of the World.

Then it became one of the first US states to legalize cannabis – and not a moment too soon, because the COVID-19 pandemic put a big damper on casino and entertainment, along with conventions and other important parts of the tourism industry. Through luck and savvy management, Nevada’s weed scene is the best in the United States. In fact, you know what? We say “Eat your heart out, Amsterdam!”

True story: Your humble author will never forget my most definitive Las Vegas moment. Driving home from a couple errands, I was heading up the Vegas strip near midnight on a sweltering summer night. With the windows down, I stopped at the red light at Sahara and Las Vegas Blvd, right next to the former Sahara Casino. The Sahara had a coaster which looked sort of like this:

Sahara-casino-coaster

What should roll up on my left but a convertible car with the top down, filled with Elvis impersonators. Six of them! They were either on their way to or coming back from a gig, either could apply. It looked sort of like this, but at night:

carload-of-Elvises

As I turned to wave and trade a few remarks with the carload of Elvises, the roller coaster at Sahara roared out of the side of the building to my right, headed up its tower track. That was the moment I knew that I could not be anywhere but Las Vegas!

Searching for Cannabis Dispensary Deals in Las Vegas Can Be Hectic

Even though Sin City has the best selection of weed dispensaries in Nevada, it can be a pain keeping tabs on which ones have a current discount or special promotion going on. Most of them advertise only through SMS, text messages to phone. Their online coverage is hit or miss. And then some dispensaries advertise heavily and drown out the smaller mom and pop shops that are actually better.

It’s like this all the time in Las Vegas in any industry. There’s the places the tourists go, and then there’s the off-to-the-side places where the locals go. But visitors want to know about the local hangouts too, especially since the local hangouts aren’t so expensive.

Nevada flower tour

Even though Dab Connection addresses the cannabis market throughout the United States, we make sure to always have an operative in Nevada because that’s such a happening scene. Nevada is an important state in marijuana culture, leading an example for other states to follow. Like anybody else, we wanted a way to keep tabs on dispensary deals too.

How We Invented DankOil.com

At first, we tried to maintain posts on this blog, tracking marijuana dispensary promotional deals manually. That turned out to be a bust! This was in the early days of legalization when there were only a few states to track anyway. As the cannabis market in the US has grown and more states legalized, we discovered that it is impossible, even with the staff that we have, to update a dozen different towns’ dispensary listings. At least not while also reviewing brands, policing fakes and scams, and covering cannabis news in every form.

Then we discovered somebody else was tackling this idea as a stand-alone project. For awhile, we simply linked to a site called “lasvegasdispensarydeals.com,” which was also trying to track individual deals at dispensaries as soon as they posted. They tried their best, but as you can see, that domain is now dead.

AI_pot_bot

So now we knew that it wasn’t just us. This is hard to do manually. Then we launched DankOil.com. We’re still building it, be patient, but the Las Vegas part is up to speed and we’re almost done adding the rest of Nevada too.

What are we doing with DankOil? We have set up an automated system in conjunction with the dispensaries, so that the pages for each dispensary update as fast as that dispensary’s own feed does, by whatever means they release that information. In this way, we can track not just marijuana deals, discounts, and sales, but events and other promotional features as they come up.

Since the system is automated, please be patient with little text glitches as we train our AI system to better format the data and present it. But for now, it is a reliable, real-time feed of Las Vegas cannabis deals in every form, whether you’re looking for herb, flower, carts, pods, concentrates, extracts, or edibles. No matter if you’re after THC, CBD, Delta 8, or any combination of the above, we’ll find you the cheapest quality product in the Las Vegas metro area.

Las-Vegas-Strip

We Have Big Plans For DankOil!

As said, so far we have Las Vegas and most of Nevada online. But there’s more to come! Eventually, we hope to hook up the same system with dispensaries in every legalized state, and eventually nationwide (should the day come when the full 50 goes green).

Since DabConnection never accepts any payment for promotion of products, we know that our readers have come to trust our reviews as opposed to “pay to play” review sites. We’re extending that policy to our dispensary listings as well. We have reader’s long-standing trust on the line as one of the first cannabis business websites on the Internet.

If you run a dispensary anywhere in the US and would like to work with us on this vision, please message us here in our contact form and our development team will be happy to get back to you.

Vape Cartridge

0
vape_pen_breakdown

A vape cartridges is the portion of a vape pen which contains the liquid and a mouthpiece for inhaling. It is meant to fasten onto a vaping battery at the bottom. Vape cartridges are a popular way to consume cannabis products. Cannabis vapes have grown in popularity since their introduction in about 2015. They would have been even more popular right now if it hadn’t been for the black market vaping lung epidemic, but even than have held steady demand after falling from their peak.

cannabis_vaping_vs_flower_trend

What goes in a vape cartridge?

In cannabis products, vapes come in various forms:

  • distillate– the majority of vape cartridges, AKA “oil” or “710”
  • live resin – a more pure form of cannabis extract, nearly the same quality you would get from dabbing
  • THC – carts may be concentrated extracts high in THC
  • CBD – vapes also come in CBD form made from hemp distillate
  • Delta 8 – a new kind which uses a companion cannabinoid to THC.

All cannabis products are derived from various extracts from the cannabis plant. There are several differences between live resin and distillate, all in the method of extraction. Because live resin is richer in terpenes and other natural cannabinoids, it has more of the full effect from the flower and contributes to the entourage effect.

What impurities can infiltrate a vape cartridge?

Beginning in about the summer of 2019, news broke out of a lung illness epidemic among vape users, which was traced back to black market vape cartridges. The cartridges in question were found to be cut with various third-party filler ingredients, some of which contained vitamin E acetate. There is a huge difference between something that’s safe to eat and something that’s safe to inhale the vapor from into your lungs.

The vaping lung illness crisis soon got swept from the news by the even bigger epidemic in 2020 which we now know as COVID-19. But the vaping lung injury epidemic is still ongoing. Unethical black market cartridge vendors, or plugs, may put any contents into a vape cartridge and unsuspecting buyers won’t know until they inhale it. Symptoms of lung injury from vaping continue to be reported.

Red Dragon Extracts pesticides test result

In addition, a prefilled vape cartridge may contain other contaminants such as:

  • residual solvents – solvents are used to extract compounds from flower and are then not properly flushed out
  • heavy metals – these may be oil contaminants or come from the cartridge itself
  • pesticides – an issue in any cultivated plant, but concentrated into oil form and vaped, they can reach critical levels
  • formaldehyde – industrial contaminant

Most of the contaminated vapes found are produced by black market vendors, but even professional licensed vape cartridge production labs can make mistakes too.

What is the difference between “real” and “fake” vape carts?

A “real” cartridge is an actual brand owned by a company and sold only at licensed dispensaries.

A “fake” cartridge is a made-up brand produced by black market product counterfeiters in China. The cartridges and packaging are sold empty on Internet retail websites such as Alibaba, DHGate, and many others. Black market plug buy these empty carts and fill them at home from a basement or garage operation, sometimes called “honey oil labs.” There are several “brands” which consistently pop up in this culture.

A “fake” may also be a counterfeit of a real cartridge brand. Most popular licensed brands have a fake counterpart produced on the same black market channels.

TKO fake

There is also an in-between “gray market.” These are single-source vape cartridge markets who are close to “legit,” but merely don’t have the proper licensing. These brands are found on the “underground sesh” circuit or in markets deliberately kept legally gray such as Washington, D.C.

In the name of safety, you should only buy prefilled vape carts from a licensed dispensary. If you do not have access, such as living in a state where cannabis is still illegal, your next safest bet is to only consume flower, since the plant itself does not have nearly the hazards of contamination. Failing that, street vendors at underground seshes at least have a community around them and a reputation to uphold, so they’re less risky. Buying vape cartridges from an anonymous street plug is almost suicidal.

Wild Theory CBD Gummies | Just a Touch of THC

0
Wild-Theory-CBD-gummies

Today’s CBD gummy review comes to us courtesy of distributor The Healthy Place, to whom we owe our thanks. We’re trying out Wild Theory gummies in three varieties. All of them come packed with a full-spectrum dose of CBD, but the chief distinguishing feature between the three is the amount of THC: one has 2.5mg, one 5mg, and one 10mg per gummy respectively. Someday, we might have a ready-mix system that can add just the right amount of THC per customer, but until then, Wild Theory has the buffet approach.

Pros:

  • Excellent effects
  • Varied flavors and varieties
  • Pick your THC level with 0.5mg precision

Cons:

  • The high end of the price range for a jar of 30 gummies

Recommendations: We would be delighted to see gummies with more THC proportion, but that’s just us hardcores.

Wild-Theory_181745

All were equally enjoyable

These samples were all fresh, tasty, and sweet without over-sugaring. They were all in 30-count jars. In ascending potency:

  • Wild Theory Strata Mango – 25mg CBD / 2.5mg delta-9 THC
  • Wild Theory Cosmos Strawberry – 25mg CBD / 5mg delta-9 THC
  • Wild Theory Outer Limits Strawberry  – 25mg CBD / 10mg delta-9 THC

Even though I, myself, am a heavyweight who can easily wolf down 5 of the Outer limits with my breakfast coffee and enjoy every minute of it – even then, I can appreciate smaller dosage options. I happen to be married to a partner whose tolerance is tiny, so she appreciates the mouse-sized tiny control quantities.

Full spectrum effects are a welcome addition too! Whether you take CBD therapeutically or you just want a nice well-rounded head and body high, Wild Theory has the choice selection.

Wild Theory has a wide selection of hemp-based products. Check them out here.

Rare Cannabinoid Company Gummies – The Improvement

0
Rare Cannabinoid

A while back I had done a review on the Rare Cannabinoid Company and their line of gummies featuring mood, calm, relief, and sleep. At the time I only had access to one of the gummies which was the Mood Lime Mint and it was absolutely terrible. This review is a follow-up to see if anything has changed with flavoring and the effects the gummy is supposed to provide.

Pros:

  • The effects are strong and effective
  • Gummies are palatable

Cons:

  • Gummies are palatable

Recommendations:   The flavor is still very off with a lingering medicinal taste…

Effects Hit Hard!

Congrats Rare Cannabinoid Company for fixing the effects of the gummies! Before I couldn’t even keep down the gummy and the effects lasted for about 15 minutes, a real letdown. This time around it was a very different experience for each of the gummy variants.

Uplift – Sweet Lemon ( 2.5mg Delta 9 THC + THCv)

Sleep – Huckleberry (5mg Delta 9 THC + 30mg CBN)

Relief – Green Apple (2.5mg Delta 9 THC + 30mg CBG)

I tried every single one and each gummy had its own effects. The Uplift gummy helped a lot with energy throughout the day and kept me focused, while the Relief gummy helped with severe cramps and overall soreness, and the Sleep gummy did just that, put me to sleep and helped me stay asleep! I am quite impressed by the effects this time around and it is a huge improvement.

rare cannabinoid gummy

Flavor Disaster still

I will give Rare Cannabinoid Company this…the flavor has improved enough for me to actually eat the gummy (before the taste was so bad I ended up puking). This time, the taste was tolerable but still has a funky flavor aftertaste that is present in all of the gummies. I’m not sure why this is the case, I even did the roommate check and they also said it tasted weird but way more manageable than last time.

rare cannabinoid details

Is this recommended?

This is 50/50 for me. The effects are now stronger which is nice, but you need to get past the flavor. Will I eat something that tastes bad if it can benefit me? Yes, but if I can find something that tastes better and has the effects then I’ll be going with that.

Dab Connection’s Second Annual Golden Buddha Awards | 2023

0
Golden-Buddha-awards-banner

So hey, Green Wednesday is upon us! For those of you cannabis fans who will be doing your Green Wednesday shopping for yourself or for gift ideas on your list, let me present the this award ceremony which I totally made up myself. The Golden Buddhas are these little statues I somehow possess, possibly on a head shop run, that pop up in random photos of products I review on here. Over the past year, I’ve even hinted in some reviews at a “possible Golden Buddha award” contender.

DISCLAIMER:

Our Golden Buddhas are not to be taken scientifically. They’re based on the best stuff reviewed this year by “Penguin” Pete only. Check the name credited as author of this post; Dab Connection has had some 20-odd steady reviewers over the years. Thus, the answer to “why didn’t this product win?” is “Pete didn’t try it this year.” The answer to “Why didn’t you have an award for [insert category]?” is “Pete didn’t try anything in that category this year worth noting.” These are just the products that impressed me overall. You’re savvied up to that, on with the program…

One more note: All of the products on this list are legally available in all 50 US states, except where noted. That way you can look for deals on this list for Green Wednesday, in case you’re doing some holiday gift buying at your local dispo or online retailer.

One BIG difference is that we’re adding non-cannabis products this year, for shrooms and psychedelics. So we’re at the second annual award and we had to make a major modification already, because the biggest news in cannabis this year was mushrooms, ironically.

Click through the listings to find our review and vendor link.

2nd Annual Golden Buddha Awards

For outstanding performance as a credit to the US Cannabis and Legalized Drugs Industry. And the winners are…

Cannabis Consumables

Adios-Blend-3

Best Cannabis Altcan Gummies: Delta Extrax Adios Blend

We appreciate that most customers want their cannabis edibles to be a mere supplement, a small mood-booster or pain relief, maybe. But let’s acknowledge also that some of us buy cannabis edibles to get wrecked like the Titanic. Delta Extrax gave these kind of people a 350MG Live Resin gummy packed with D9, D8, and THCA (no I don’t know how THCA works in an edible). Whatever it is, these gummies hit like a truck and we love them for it.

Rave-Exotics-box-1

Best THCA Dabs: Rave Exotics

My own hometown Des Moines Despensary and their THCA diamonds nearly took this slot, but Rave Exotics came to us like an invitation to Hogwarts, and showed us what THCA dabs are really capable of. Their badder was simply sublime, the flavors were a treat, the potency was off the charts, and the presentation was so cool that this whole kit makes a great pre-packaged Christmas gift. I’m sure there’s great THC dabs out there in legal states; for the rest of us, Rave Exotics has our back.

Cannabis Hardware and Accessories

Hemper-Vapor-Station1

Best Dab Straw: Hemper Vapor Station Dab Straw

Even though Hemper is known for its subscription box service for cannabis enthusiasts, and its middle-shelf glass, Hemper also designs its own lines of products that occasionally beat the market. We found the Hemper Vapor Station Dab Straw to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and very easy on the eyes when it’s on the shelf. At $59.99, it packs in a lot of bang for the buck.

Doteco-TIK20-2

Best Cartridge Battery: Doteco TIK20

You can have your over-featured oilpens with all the fancy doodads and features. We are blown away by the stunning minimalist design that packs in a detailed LED screen and 3-button control into a battery smaller than a thumb. It heats fast, hits good, and doesn’t bather you with having to download an app or something. I keep reviewing other batteries and declaring them just fine, but then I always come back to this hardworking little mite.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183631

Best Grinder: RYOT Wood GR8TR

This was a banner year for grinder reviews, including some impressively fancy designs. It seems like half the hardware companies out there decided to re-think the humble grinder all in the same year. But at the end of the day, what does Pete use to grind his weed? This sleek wooden grinder. The best part of it is that it only has three parts, with no little bits to fumble with, and yet manages to double as a stoppered storage container. It is the perfect grinder-on-the-go. Kief catcher, you say? Your kief is there with your ground weed; it all goes in the bowl and you smoke it all. Don’t make it more complicated than it need be.

Yocan-Phaser_172923

Best eRig: Yocan Black Phaser Max

In yet another year of eRig designs from the fanciest table-top pieces to the minimalist handhelds, the Yocan Black Phaser Max gets my nod just for making eRigs fun again. Sure, it’s basically a glorified wax pen and only good for short hits and small loads, but it’s an eRig shaped like a phaser where you activate it with a trigger! It’s a design that’s dead-easy for novices and those with mobility issues, while packing a respectable hit.

Cipher-Nautilus_140350

Best Dry Herb Vape Kit: Cipher Nautillus

Not just a vape disguised as a pipe, but a host of stem accessories to turn it into a Churchwarden style pipe. Not only is this workable as a dry herb vape, but it’s a handy cosplay and acting accessory. We find its design and ease of use to be very conductive to reclining in an easy chair puffing vape rings while scolding a Hobbit.

Mushrooms and Psychedelics

Einstein approved brain enhancers

Best Nootropic Mushroom Supplement: The Plant People

Are you looking for the next big thing in “smart drugs”? You owe it to yourself to check out the performance-enhancing formulas of The Plant People, with custom blends to help you fall asleep, stave off anxiety, or sharpen your mental focus. A few daily gummies from these bags had me sharp and focused, even tempted to apply to go on Jeopardy. Your mileage may vary, but I was impressed with the quality.

Mushroom-Lyfe-Muscimol-gummies_143147

Best Psychedelic Mushroom Gummies: Smilyn Happy Mush / Mushrom Lyfe (2 brands same company)

The humble Fly Agaric, Amanita Muscaria, took the legalized drugs world by storm when consumers discovered that you can get a legal psychedelic mushroom extract. Muscimol, the active ingredient, became the hottest gummy ingredient of the year, and we sampled plenty of different brands. It was with Smilyn and its sister-company (alt brand? subsidiary?) Mushroom Lyfe, which hosted my triumphant psychedelic breakthrough, where a dose of 12K in Amanita weight in gummies at last launched me to trippy-land. Since then I’ve tried the same brand in other sessions or in combination with other gummies, and had consistent effects.

TRE-House-magic-mushroom-gummies-1

Best Non-Mushroom Psychedelic: Mimosa Hostillis Root Bark

They slipped it past the radar by including Lion’s Mane in the formula so they could say “magic mushrooms” on the label. But the big news in this bag is the Mimosa, which is legal to have but not to extract the DMT (a 1.7% concentration) from. Together with a couple other bits of organic chemistry, They delivered on the package’s promise with a new psychedelic effect which has little to do with shrooms. We’ve experimented some more since then.

Trippy Extrax Chocolate Review – Exceptional Effects

Finding the perfect potency, flavor, and consistency blend can be challenging in cannabis-infused edibles. However, my journey led me to the Delta Extrax 1000mg Cannabis Candy Bars, available in both White Pebz and Milk Chocolate flavors, and I must say they have completely exceeded my expectations. Each chocolate is a proprietary blend of Amanita Muscaria, Kava, CBD, Delta 9 THC, Lion’s Mane, and natural flavoring. These delectable treats have not only revolutionized my cannabis experience but have also become my go-to choice for a delightful and powerful high. Allow me to share the exceptional qualities of these cannabis candy bars in terms of flavor and effect.

The current price of these chocolates is $29.99.

  • Good quality
  • Great effects
  • Tasty

Milk Chocolate Flavor: A Taste of Pure Bliss

To kick things off, let’s start with my personal favorite – the Milk Chocolate flavor. Right from the first bite, I was transported to a world of indulgence. The velvety smoothness of the milk chocolate coating melts in your mouth, giving way to a rich, creamy sweetness that’s nothing short of heavenly. This kind of chocolatey goodness tantalizes the taste buds and evokes childhood memories of savoring the finest milk chocolate treats.

Beyond this, Delta Extrax’s meticulous attention to flavor and quality sets it apart. The Milk Chocolate Cannabis Candy Bar perfectly balances cannabis infusion and the exquisite chocolatey taste. However, unlike some edibles that have an overpowering cannabis flavor, this candy bar blends the earthy notes of cannabis seamlessly with the sweetness of milk chocolate. Each bite is a pure, decadent pleasure that masks the taste of cannabis without compromising on the effectiveness of the high.

White Pebz Flavor: A Burst of Fun and Flavor

Moving on, the White Pebz flavor is equally impressive in its own right. Its playful and colorful appearance, reminiscent of a beloved childhood cereal, offers a unique twist. Immediately, as you sink your teeth into this candy bar, you’re greeted by a delightful crunch, and then followed by a burst of fruity goodness. It’s like enjoying a bowl of your favorite cereal in edible form.

Furthermore, the White Pebz Cannabis Candy Bar captures the essence of the cereal inspired, delivering an incredibly satisfying fruity, slightly tangy flavor. Similarly, just like its Milk Chocolate counterpart, this candy bar expertly combines the cannabis infusion with the flavor profile, ensuring every bite is an enjoyable experience. It’s a fantastic option for those looking to add a touch of nostalgia to their cannabis consumption.

Exceptional Effects

Switching gears, let’s discuss the most critical aspect of any cannabis-infused edible – the effect. I’m pleased to report that the Milk Chocolate and White Pebz Delta Extrax Candy Bars deliver equally great highs. The 1000mg of Delta-8 THC in each bar ensures a potent and consistent experience, allowing you to customize your dosage according to your preferences.

The effects are well-balanced and not overwhelming, making these candy bars suitable for novice and experienced users. So, whether you’re seeking relaxation after a stressful day or looking to enhance your creative endeavors, these edibles have you covered. The high gradually builds, eventually providing a gentle, euphoric buzz that leaves you feeling uplifted and at ease.

In essence, Delta Extrax’s commitment to quality and precision shines through in the consistency of its products. You can trust that every candy bar you consume will deliver the same exceptional high, making it easier to manage your cannabis experience and find your perfect dosage.

6 Surprising Products Made with CBD in 2023

0
cbd-PRODUCTS-2023

Cannabis products are very popular these days. They’re so popular that you can now find CBD in various items, including food, beverages, and even beauty products. Millions of users have experienced the medicinal benefits of CBD, even though it is not regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

It Seems To Be Everywhere

CBD is now found in a lot of different items. Some restaurants put it in smoothies, spas offer “canna-cures,” and even pet stores sell treats infused with the compound. CBD has so many health benefits that it’s little wonder why a lot of companies include it in their products.

Before we go any further, you should know that just like any other product on the market, some CBD companies are better than others. It’s important to research the brand before buying any product with CBD. Also, check with your doctor before taking any CBD product, especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or have any underlying medical condition.

That being said, let’s look at some of the many products that can be found with CBD as one of the ingredients.

Flav_bath_bomb

Bath Bombs

CBD bath bombs can have from 50mg to 200mg of CBD, and it is usually full-spectrum oil, which means it contains every compound in the cannabis plant. Most CBD bath bombs are vegan, cruelty-free, and available in many different scents and colors. Some of them also include small amounts of THC. So you might want to research the product beforehand if the amount of THC is important to you.

If you’re a newbie to this product, it’s important to start off with bath bombs that have low doses of CBD and work up from there. The bath bombs are often made with essential oils as well.

hfh cream

Lotions and Cream

If you want any type of lotion or cream with CBD, you won’t have problems finding it. CBD lotions and creams tend to be made with organic materials and are, therefore, very “clean” products.

The most popular essential oil used in these products is lavender, as it has calming, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties. They can also be made with coconut oil, aloe vera juice, and similar all-natural products to enhance their effectiveness.

Not only do these products work great and help make your skin softer, but they also smell lovely and are healthy for you. There are numerous reasons why lavender and CBD oil are a great combination.

pharma cbd d8 gummy
These low calorie D8 gummy provide 20mg of Delta8 THC.

Snacks

Many CBD companies are getting very creative when it comes to snacks. Some of the products offered by CBD companies include chocolate chip cookies, crispy rice treats, chocolate bars, and, of course, gummies in many different flavors. If you feel like having a snack with an extra kick, treats containing CBD are the perfect solution.

Snacks with CBD have different doses of the compound. So, it’s important to look at the amount of CBD and the serving size so you don’t get anything too strong for your tolerance level.

face_serum

Facial Products

Today’s beauty products often have CBD, including both full-spectrum and broad-spectrum oil. This includes many facial products such as cleansers, moisturizers, and even overnight facial masks. CBD is thought to hydrate, protect the barrier, and improve your skin’s immune system. All the way around, CBD is an excellent addition to any facial product.

In addition to the products mentioned above, CBD can also be found in liquid serums, eye gels, and formulations that can reduce blemishes, redness, and dryness. CBD offers many advantages when added to facial products, which is why so many of them are now available.

Lemon splashing into a drink

Beverages

While many smoothie stores now add CBD to their smoothies, you can also find seltzers and other drinks with varying amounts of this ingredient. They can be ordered online or purchased in cannabis stores. Most of the time, they’re available in many different flavors, including citrus and black cherry.

Many drinks containing CBD are low in calories and made with all-natural ingredients and flavorings, so you can drink them without worrying about artificial additives and their side effects. In other words, many of the CBD drinks now on the market are actually good for you.

cbd salve

Topical Products

While many people use tinctures, edibles, and even vaping products to ease pain, a good topical product such as balm, oil, or salve rubbed directly on the inflamed spot goes a long way in helping you feel better. In many cases, these products work quickly to ease your pain, making them a favorite for many people who prefer natural treatments.

Like other CBD products, balms and salves contain different amounts of CBD. It’s important to take this into consideration before deciding which product is right for you.

Take Your Pick

Keep in mind that CBD products can also have kratom and even THC in them, depending on where they’re manufactured. You can buy kratom online, as well as THC and CBD products. In fact, purchasing cannabis products online is often the best way to buy them, especially for people who may feel a little awkward visiting a cannabis store in person.

To make it even easier, many businesses like California weed delivery services will deliver their products straight to your home. So taking advantage of these services is smart for lots of customers. Regardless of how you purchase your CBD products, it’s good to know that there are lots of them available, and they are easy to find.

Rare Cannabinoid Company Gummies – The Worst I’ve Ever Had

0

Rare Cannabinoid Company has come up with a mood gummy using a combination of the Delta 9 strain, a high dose of CBC and CBD. Delta 9 is a Sativa and for these gummies, they have allotted 5mg per gummy. These gummies are supposed to be very potent so they state on the packaging that you are only allowed to take 2 in a 24hr period. As of right now, they only have the Lime Mint flavor but they do have other flavors for various things such as relief, resting, calm, and so on.

Pros:

  • None

Cons:

  • Flavor
  • Effects

Recommendations:  Change the Flavor or get rid of the chemical taste.

rare cannabinoid company gummies bottle

The Flavor

I will start by saying I have very sensitive taste buds and a nose that doesn’t work all that well. But, for these gummies, I could smell them and the flavoring left me hovering over a toilet. When opening up the container I could smell a hint of lime and that was it for flavoring, the underlying smell was that of heavy medical CBD to me. My roommates who tried it came up with paint chips and rotting citrus, so this failed the smell test.

When I finally worked up the courage to eat one, I had to spit it out immediately and then puked from the flavoring. I don’t know who is doing quality control, but what I got was completely inedible. I have never tasted something so nasty in my life, and I’ve had some questionable food in other countries. The taste I got was neither lime or mint, my roommates tried it as well in case it was just me and they also could not say it tasted like lime or mint. The consensus was; that it tasted like chemicals with hints of heavy medicated CBD oil flavoring and something rotting. Two of the three most important factors when it comes to edibles are smell and taste, and these failed miserably.

The Effects

  • Total ∆9THC Content: 150mg
  • ∆9THC Content Per Gummy: 5mg
  • Gummies per Jar: 30
  • Extraction Material: Hemp
  • Delta 9 THC Content: <0.3% on a dry weight basis

The Mood Gummies are supposed to improve mood, encourage relaxation, and relieve discomfort. I couldn’t keep the gummy down, so I had the roommates try it, and only one of them was able to keep it down. The effects of relaxation only lasted about 15 minutes…

Tillmans Tranquils Gummies and Mints Review – Decent Effects and Flavor

0
Tillmans Tranquils review

You read the title right, gummies AND mints! I’ll be going over 2 products by Tillmans Tranquils.

I have never worked with this brand before, so I am looking forward to seeing how their products compare. I have the Mango THC Gummies Anytime Blend and the Cherry Mints Perfect Dose.

Pros:

  • Flavor
  • Effects

Cons:

  • Packaging
  • Gummies could have a better effect

Recommendations: Make the packaging easier to open for those who have wrist issues

Tillmans Tranquils

The Packaging is so-so…

The Cherry Mints were very easy to open since it is a baggie, but the Mango Gummies gave me real problems. I have a wrist injury so the strength in it isn’t as good as others. I am not joking when I say I tried to open this container for almost 10 minutes. It is a press-and-turn container and normally I don’t have too many issues with these, but the one I got just kept spinning and spinning, then not catching the grooves inside. I had to have someone open it for me. After the initial opening, it was easy to open after that.

This isn’t going to be an issue for many of you, but for those whose bodies are broken, it makes a world of difference. Be warned for those who may have similar issues.

Tillmans Tranquils mints

Flavor for the win!

For the cherry mints, I was very scared to initially try these from flashbacks of taking cherry-flavored medicine. BUT, they were pretty good! It was a subtle cherry flavor, so it wasn’t overpowering. The texture was interesting. The mints held up like an Ice Breakers Mint, then disintegrated into a tums consistency, overall, not bad at all!

The mango gummies were a punch of fruity mango to the face. The sweetness on the outside with the sugar, and mango goodness on the inside. The texture for these is VERY soft, not chewy at all like some gummies, they sort of just melt away in your mouth. There was no aftertaste of weed to these, so be careful! These could be addicting and easy to eat if you are not paying attention.

Tillmans Tranquils mints details

Effects are 50/50

The Cherry Mints consist of 5 mg of CBD + 2.5mg Delta 9 THC per mint with 10 mints per pack.

The effects slowly started kicking in 30 minutes after eating, and full effects after an hour. At first, the mints take away the edge in your head while the CBD starts kicking in. This created a relaxing vibe for me. I was not high, but felt good and the best part was that feeling lasted a few hours.

The mango gummies weren’t that much different. These gummies are made of 20mg CBD + 2mg hemp-derived THC per gummy and come in a pack of 15. I took a full gummy and I did sense some ease when it came to my anxiety but my body was relaxed. Because there is no high to these, you could definitely take them any time of day as the container advertises.

Tillmans Tranquils gummies

Is this recommended?

I would say yes if you are looking for something to help with body aches throughout the day. These are meant to help relax you, not to get high. That being said, the gummies cost $30 and the cherry mints cost $13. The brand I normally go for when it comes to relaxing is a bit cheaper and on sale a lot of the time, so I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy these personally, but it could be different for you.

A memorable experience

Diving into the strains, the Lemon Kush (Indica) and Orange Diesel (Hybrid) varieties each offered a distinct and memorable experience that left me craving more.

The Lemon Kush (Indica) immediately intrigued me with its unmistakable aroma of zesty citrus and earthy undertones. The flavor was an ode to its name, as every inhalation was like savoring a slice of lemon pie. The high that followed was pure indica bliss, enveloping me in waves of relaxation and tranquility. It’s the type of strain that melts away stress and encourages deep introspection. From its flavor to its effects, Lemon Kush offers a well-rounded experience that’s perfect for unwinding at the end of a long day.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Orange Diesel (Hybrid) presented a dynamic explosion of flavors that had me enamored from the first hit. The sweet and tangy aroma of freshly peeled oranges was a prelude to the symphony of flavors that awaited. The vape itself was an orange-infused journey, and with each inhale, I found myself immersed in the vibrant citrus notes. The hybrid nature of Orange Diesel ensured a balanced high that combined cerebral invigoration with a relaxing undertone. It’s a strain that seamlessly marries flavor and effect, making it an ideal choice for both solo relaxation and social gatherings.

While both strains offered unique and captivating experiences, I must admit a personal preference for the Lemon Kush’s effects and the Orange Diesel’s flavor. Lemon Kush’s ability to melt away stress and guide me into a state of deep relaxation made it a standout choice for moments when I sought profound tranquility. Meanwhile, Orange Diesel’s unparalleled citrus burst provided a refreshing and flavorful adventure that invigorated my senses. This just highlights the versatility that the Delta Extrax 3G Disposable Zombie Extrax offers, catering to different preferences and moods.

Cannaflower CBD Flower Review – A Flavor Bomb!

I’ll start by stating that this was the first time I had flower that was heavier in CBD than THC. The three flavors I received:  Bubba Kush, Jumble Cookie, and Sour Dog. All have varying effects and huge flavor! Each of these has different levels of CBD and THC involved, but the unique part is they all have Delta 9 strains. Cannaflower has brought some VIPs to their roster and has made amazing combinations when it comes to these strains!

Pros:

  • Flavor bomb!
  • The effects

Cons:

  • None

Recommendations: None

The Flavor Bomb!

I’ve had some pretty tasty flower in the past, but the names or notes of flavors that are labeled on the packages is 50/50. I’ve had some that said it would taste of “citrus” and not one ounce of citrus flavor is detected, so I wasn’t expecting much in the flavor department (so I don’t get my hopes up for Girl Scout Cookie and it tastes nothing like it). This has been some of the tastiest flower I have had that actually tastes as the packaging says. I got three of them and each of them is more unique than the next on flavor profiles.

Bubba Kush

When first opening the bag, you get an aroma of lemons, but when you smoke it you get a different flavor profile! The rich deep tones of cocoa, coffee and the sense of a warm blanket wrapping you up.

Jumble Cookie

This one I had some self-control issues because when you open the bag it smells just like cookies. Cookies and weed are the perfect match. The flavor threw me off a little bit, but it was still very good. The leading flavor was herbal/nutty and had undertones of the diesel strain.

Sour Dog

The aroma from Sour Dog smells very sweet which is understandable since it derives from 2 strains: Sour Space Candy and, the storied, Chemdawg. The taste matches the smell with undertones from the diesel.

The Effects

Bubba Kush – It states on the packaging that the effects are supposed to make people calm and was I ever. I felt that I had merged with the couch. My motivation for the day became whatever the couch’s wishes were. Nothing could bother me and the CBD just sent waves of relief as it took away the pain. Plan a day of laziness when smoking this because you won’t be getting much done.

Jumble Cookie – It says energizing, but I didn’t get just that. The creative cookies were flowing as I proceeded to knock out several tasks at home and completed 2 puzzles. The CBD component was unbelievable. I felt like I’d never experienced body pain. If you have inflammatory issues, this will be your best friend as it eases the pain while keeping you energized!

Sour Dog –  The effects from this batch were a bit more energizing than the Bubba Kush, but it also kept me mellow. This one did not affect my mind too much, as it kept me relaxed and aware. This would be great for going out, it doesn’t slam you on the couch like Bubba Kush.

Is this recommended?

YES! Considering how much you get, the CBD and THC effects work immaculately, and the flavor bomb from all of these, it would be a shame for you to miss out on this! The price of this flower starts at $8.95 per gram.

How To get Rid Of Recurring Stress and Anxiety Naturally

How To get Rid Of Recurring Stress and Anxiety Naturally

Recurring stress and anxiety interfere with a person’s ability to relax and function, disrupting the flow of their home, work, and personal lives. The person experiences an incredible amount of fear and panic attacks due to feelings of impending doom that paralyze them, keeping them from achieving much. Fortunately, this condition is treatable, and natural remedies exist.

Here’s how to treat stress and anxiety naturally:

1. Practice Mindfulness And Meditation

The primary goal of meditation and mindfulness is to bring a person to a full awareness of the present moment. It slows all their racing thoughts, making achieving a sense of calm easier. You only notice the ideas that come in, without necessarily pondering or acting on them. Although this does not stop the flow of negative thoughts, it puts you in charge of your thought patterns, making you selective of the issues you wish to engage your brain in.

Many people experience positive anxiety and mood changes from mindfulness and meditation practices. A study confirmed this with its findings from investigating the effects of therapy centered around mindfulness by finding a significant correlation between reduced anxiety and mindful practices. Mindfulness and medication are, therefore, effective antidepressants.

2. Have A Clean, Well-Balanced Diet

Diet has been shown to influence a person’s thought process, body functioning, and even behavior. For example, a poor diet can bring up anxiety symptoms like fatigue, irritability, and fluctuating blood sugar levels that may cause jitters and nervousness.

The chemicals used to process food, like artificial coloring, flavorings, and preservatives, may cause some people to have sporadic moods. A high-calorie diet also impacts temperament and may cause you to have obsessive thoughts surrounding different life issues. For example, if a person has been gaining weight from a high-calorie diet, they may start to have thoughts of self-doubt, low esteem, and a feeling of worthlessness, all of which raise their stress and anxiety.

It would help if you switched up these foods with a balanced diet that is rich in lean proteins, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates, vegetables, and fruits. Do away with processed foods and hydrate. Be sure to include foods rich in magnesium, calcium, vitamin B, and omega-3 in your diet, as they improve anxiety symptoms. Some examples of these foods include legumes, beans, sea vegetables, eggs, seeds, nuts, and wild-caught fish.

3. Exercise

Regular exercise is not only good for your physical health but also for your mental health. A study investigating the effects of exercise and physical activity on anxiety found that participants who engaged at a high level were sheltered from developing anxiety. There are many possible reasons for this finding. First, as you engage in physical activity, you turn your attention away from thoughts that make you anxious to concentrate on the physical activity itself. The second reason is that exercise initiates the production of endorphins, the feel-good hormones that take your mind off the issues you’re concerned about and cause you to feel happy.

Regarding the type of exercise that is most useful for relieving stress and anxiety, it’s a matter of personal preference. If you want to start slow, low-impact workouts like walking, swimming, yoga, dancing, biking, or low-impact aerobics will do. If you’re going to speed up your heart rate, jump rope, power walking, stair climbing, running, or high-intensity interval training (HIIT) will do.

4. Use Cannabis and Its Products

Cannabis and cannabis products can help ease the mind and relieve anxiety or stress. But, with retailers stocking thousands of products, you might have difficulty determining which product to use for relaxation and anxiety relief. Cannabis 101 says there are three cannabis strains (indica, sativa, and hybrid), and each strain has its designated use, depending on the active compounds, the cannabinoids, it carries.

Cannabis Strains

Indica

Indica strains produce a body high that provokes a deep relaxation feeling that could even make you feel sleepy or ‘couch-locked.’ These strains are great for chilling out or for when you want to go to bed. Most stressed persons have difficulty falling asleep, and this strain could make relaxing and falling asleep easier.

Sativa

Sativa strains produce an energetic and uplifting feeling. They are also great mood boosters and help maintain focus and hold conversations. Since sativa strains have cerebral-focused effects, they are great for taking during the day when undertaking creative and social activities. If you fear interacting with people or public speaking, sativa-based products can help wear the anxiety off.

Hybrid

Hybrid strains are produced from crossing Sativa and Indica strains. Each has a different effect depending on the concentration of cannabis active compounds, CBD and THC. Some strains have a balanced impact, while others lean one way or the other. Check their descriptions to determine which product is best for you.

Zaza-oilpen

You can buy cannabis products online, but the legality of your purchase depends on your State’s laws. For most States, these products are legal so long as the product has less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. But there are also other products with cannabinoids besides THC and CBD, like THC-P, HHC, Delta-10, or Delta-8 online. Only be careful not to exceed the legal concentration limits of where you live.

5. Prioritize Rest

Over time, quality sleep has been proven crucial to good mental health. A research study by the University of Berkley found that sleep deprivation, a common symptom of anxiety disorders, amplifies anticipatory anxiety by increasing activity in the brain regions associated with excessive worry, like the amygdala and the insular cortex. The result is an abnormal neural activity often related to anxiety disorders. For people with innate worries, those naturally prone to anxiety, a lack of sleep develops the condition into a full-blown anxiety disorder.

To counter the effects of sleep deprivation, a person should have a proper sleep pattern. Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep every night, and this will significantly reduce your stress and fatigue. It also prevents moodiness and balances your hormones.

If you’re having trouble sleeping, here are habits that should make sleeping easier:

  • Do not use electronic gadgets in bed
  • Avoid watching TV or reading in bed
  • If anything is on your mind, write it down before getting into bed
  • Avoid large meals, caffeine, and nicotine just before bed
  • Keep the bedroom cool and dark
  • Sleep only at night
  • Go to sleep at the same time every night

6. Deep Breathing

Panic and anxiety are associated with shallow, fast breathing. In contrast, deep breathing, called diaphragmatic breathing, is associated with reducing cortisol, the stress hormone.

So, whenever you start to feel afraid, anxious, or stressed, deliberately begin taking deep, slow breaths. There is a technique behind it. Breathe slowly, counting from one to four, hold your breath for another four, breathe out slowly for four, and hold again for four before taking another deep breath. Repeat the process until you have calmed down.

7. Seek Support

In your quest to resolve stress and anxiety, it’s important to involve others. Let family, friends, colleagues, and even professional therapists know what you are experiencing and help you where they can. For example, a therapist may take you through cognitive behavioral therapy, a psychotherapeutic treatment that helps individuals identify the underlying thoughts that influence their feelings and actions. The therapist will help you adjust your thought patterns and reactions, making it easier to handle stressful situations.

It would also help if you joined a local support group to connect with other people dealing with stress and anxiety. You may feel less isolated, lonely, or judged because you have an open and honest conversation with people going through the same issues. The people there may also teach you some useful coping skills.

Try These Natural Remedies

Using the above remedies, you can calm down fear, anxiety, and stress naturally. However, if you still feel anxious and stressed, seek medical assistance. Natural remedies are quite helpful, but they do not replace professional intervention where it’s needed.
