Smilyn HHC Disposable Vape Review – Amazing Flavor

smilyn hhc review

Today we will take a deep dive into the Smilyn HHC Disposable Vape, the newest disposable vape from Smilyn Hemp. The flavor is really nice in this Blackberry Kush Disposable HHC Vape, and the device is easy to use and convenient. I think anyone who likes cannabis would like this product, and it’s nice that you can order this online, rather than going to the medical dispensary in person and jumping through those hoops.

Pros:

  • Amazing flavor, convenient, and easy to use for a beginner
  • The inconspicuous aroma makes this a great “on the go” option.

Cons:

  • Kind of expensive

Recommendations: None

Compliant Hemp-Derived HHC Distillate, Natural Terpenes

I’m reviewing a Smilyn Wellness HHC disposable vape, that is Blackberry Kush strain, and is Indica.  The box says 900 mg and 1 ml, so I’m not sure if that means there is 900 mg of HHC and 100 mg of terpenes, for a total of 1 gram or 1 ml, or what that means.

I like the packaging; there are fun chemical stick figure diagrams and I like how the boxes are blue and white, and how the box has instructions too.

Who would enjoy this? Probably everyone!

I think these disposable vape pens are great for anyone looking for a convenient, easy-to-use, inconspicuous medical Cannabis vape here in Ohio.  It has everything you need to start medicating right away and in the case of this Sgt. Pepper strain option, anyone who likes balanced hybrid strains would probably find this to be very beneficial with pain, anxiety, and stress during the day.

Good flavor and effects!

I really like the flavor of this vape.  The strain that I chose, “Blackberry Kush”, is an Indica, so it should be more suitable to use later in the day.  I don’t know how much I believe that, and I just use whatever strains I want whenever.  I prefer Indicas overall, for the flavor.

 High-quality hardware

The vape pen hardware seems to work really well which is expected since it’s made by CCELL. It’s easy to use and the battery lasts a long time too.  The oil seems to last a long time, but I have been using this in conjunction with my regular medical marijuana carts and concentrates and stuff.

Similar Cannabis products for comparison

I have had a few brands of alternative cannabinoid products, and this is one of the best so far.  I think this and the Fukedup.com vapes are my two favorites so far.  The flavor is really nice, and the effects seem good too.  They both help me conserve my medical marijuana carts.

Concluding this review

This Smilyn Hemp HHC Blackberry Kush vape is really good. It has an amazing flavor and is easy to use for a beginner.  I really like it!

Pulsar APX V3 Vape Review – Ultra-Compact Yet Powerful

pulsar apx v3 vape review

Today we will take a three-part look at the new Pulsar APX V3, their latest series of ultra-portable dry herb and extract vaporizers. Pulsar currently offers an assorted variety of dry herbs & extract vaporizers, bongs, dab rigs, various pipes, and accessories. We have previously reviewed their flagship Rok E-rig here. They have sent us three different kinds of vaporizers from their APX V3 family. For this review, I will try out their APX V3 Vape dry herb vaporizer.

Pros:

  • Ultra-compact size
  • Surprisingly strong airflow
  • Excellent flavor
  • Very easy to clean
  • Incredible value

Cons:

  • The device can get very hot

Recommendations: None

pulsar apx v3 vape inside-kit

The ultra-compact Pulsar APX V3 Vape is light yet powerful

The surprisingly strong Pulsar APX V3 Vape is easily one of the smallest dry herb vaporizers I’ve seen on the market. This dry herb vaporizer fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, which makes it ideal for outdoor activities and travel. More compact and discreet than the XMAX V3 Pro, this light yet powerful dry herb vaporizer delivers exceptional hits with excellent airflow. The 1600 mAh battery lasts around 1 ½ to 2 hours of continuous usage, about as long as the LTQ Vapor Curer. Upon opening the kit, you will find the following:

  • APX V3 Vape unit with a plastic mouthpiece
  • Cleaning brush
  • Replacement filters (2)
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Metal pick tool (located at the bottom of the unit)

pulsar apx v3 vape contents

The features of the Pulsar APX V3 Vape, along with the rest of the collection, has been made for maximum ease of use and convenience:

  • Remove the mouthpiece by lightly pulling it towards the button interface side of the unit.
  • Fill the ceramic chamber with your ground herb up to three-quarters full.
  • Gently tap down the ground herb using the metal pick tool that slides out from the bottom of the unit.
  • Remove any excess herb from the top base of the unit using the cleaning brush included in the kit.
  • Reattach the mouthpiece onto the unit.
  • Turn on the unit by pressing the power button five times in rapid succession.
  • The color of the LED that lights up the APX logo will indicate the current battery life. (green for 100% – 60% power level, orange for 60% – 20% power level, and red for 20% – 0% power level)
  • Adjust the temperature setting by pressing and holding the power button down for 3 seconds until it cycles and lands on your preferred heat setting.
  • Inhale through the mouthpiece slowly once the unit vibrates after 30 seconds of heat-up time.

pulsar apx v3 vape display

The Pulsar APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces much better clouds than the RYOT Verb

When examining the inside of the unit, the APX V3 Vape uses a cylindrical heating chamber most similar to the XMAX V3 Pro, which uses stainless steel instead of ceramic. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape features five temperature settings, which is indicated by the number of boxes flashing on the menu screens: 374°F, 392°F, 410°F, 428°F, 446°F. Even at the lowest temperature setting of 374°F, the APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces better clouds than the RYOT Verb. At the next highest setting of 392°F, the flavor becomes more intense. At the third highest setting of 410°F, the potency starts to gain strength.

Overall, I found most flowers best enjoyed at the fourth temperature setting (428°F). At 428°F, I was able to enjoy the most amount of vapor while still retaining much of the flavor without tasting harsh. The highest temperature setting at 446°F is the new Cash feature available for this version, which helps clear the chamber at the end of the session. This feature produces even bigger clouds; however, it can be harsh with dry flower or specialty flower, such as Delta-8 hemp flower.

Not only is the Pulsar APX V3 Vape easier to use and carry around, but it is also easy to clean on the go with the metal pick tool that slides out, which is located at the bottom of the unit. The only part to clean in this device is the ceramic chamber, which can be swiftly cleaned with the pick tool. Then, all that’s left to do is wipe down the exterior, the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece filter.

Overall, the Pulsar APX Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for under $100

The final verdict: The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for its ultra-compact size, surprisingly strong airflow, and incredible value. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is even more compact than the XMAX V3 Pro and hits much better than RYOT Verb. It may lack the versatility of XMAX V3 Pro or the water filtration of the LTQ Vapor Curer, but it is the most compact dry herb vaporizer that still hits exceptionally well. Additionally, it’s much cheaper than most dry herb vaporizers out right now. You can find the Pulsar APX V3 in a variety of different colors and designs here.

Dank Tank Live Resin Disposable Review – Mild Effects and Potency

dank tank review

Today we will take a look at Dank Tank, specifically their live resin disposables. Dank Tank also offers 510-threaded cartridges and edibles through their website. Dank Tank sent us a few different samples for their live resin disposables, which is labeled as live resin sap on their official website. This is my first time hearing about this brand, which I also haven’t spotted in any dispensaries. For this review, I will try out their live resin disposables.

Pros:

  • Only recommend Lava Cake
  • Good effects
  • Mild potency

Cons:

  • Slightly harsher than other live resin disposables

Recommendations: The flavor and potency could be improved for some of the disposables, especially their Sherbet.

dank tank box front

The batteries for these disposables were slightly weaker than Delta Extrax, Delta Munchies, and Urb’s Finest Flowers

Dank Tank disposables come in your standard cardboard packaging with a small window in front of the box. The non-childproof packaging for Dank Tank disposables can benefit from having a foam core to keep the vaporizer in a stable upright position. The batteries for these disposables felt slightly weaker than other disposables from Delta Extrax, Delta Munchies, and Urb’s Finest Flowers. On the other hand, the disposables themselves had excellent airflow and were rarely clogged for me. Also, included in the box is a couple of sticker labels with the strain name for the disposables. In addition, these are rechargeable with the USB charging port located on the bottom of the cartridge.

dank tank disposable

My favorite of the four strains they sent out is Lava Cake, which offered a mellow and relaxing body high

First, my favorite of the four strains they sent out is Lava Cake, an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Thin Mint GSC and Grape Pie. The taste of Lava Cake is sweet, earthy, and nutty with notes of chocolate, berries, and coffee. The effects of Lava Cake offer a mellow and relaxing body high that’s perfect for evenings and nighttime. The effects of Lava Cake are known to treat symptoms of chronic pain, nausea, migraines, stress, and anxiety. The THC % of Lava Cake is 89.4% and the CBD % is 1.3%.

dank-tank disposable usb port

My least favorite is their Sherbet, which tastes like a sweet pine-flavored air freshener

Next, my least favorite was Sherbet, an evenly balanced hybrid cross between GSC and Pink Panties. There’s an artificial off-putting taste to this one that overpowers any flavor, which tastes like a sweet pine-flavored air freshener. The effects of Sherbet offer some light cerebral uplift and mild body relaxation, which was great for any time of the day. The effects of Sherbet are said to treat symptoms of ADD/ADHD, anxiety, arthritis, bipolar disorder, chronic pain, depression, insomnia, loss of appetite, mood swings, and stress. The THC % of Sherbet is 90.3% and the CBD % is 0.5%.

dank tank labels

The other two strains, Easy Rider and Smoke Break has a generic flavor with notes of citrus, pine, and earth, similar to their Sherbet

Finally, the other two strains they sent us were Easy Rider and Smoke Break, which are both Sativas. While Easy Rider is a Sativa-leaning hybrid between Dutch Treat and Ruderalis, Smoke Break is an unknown Sativa dominant hybrid cross of mysterious genetics. Although Smoke Break has hints of spice, the flavor of these other two strains still has a generic flavor with notes of citrus, pine, and earth, similar to their Sherbet. The effects of both strains felt energetic, focused, and creative. While the THC % of Easy Rider is 86.3% and the CBD % is 0.2%, the THC % of Smoke Break is 89.2% and the CBD % 2.5%.

dank tank back of box

However, these aren’t as harsh as the Cake Delta-8 disposables and the Delta Extrax Zenergy disposables

The retail price for Dank Tank disposables is listed as $55.00 for a 1080/1100 mg cartridge on their official website. Although harsher and more generic than other similar live resin disposables, these aren’t as harsh as the Cake Delta-8 disposables and the Delta Extrax Zenergy disposables. The only strain for this batch I would recommend is their Lava Cake, while the other three felt slightly harsher in taste and milder in effects.

Overall, I would recommend Lava Cake, but would not recommend the other three strains

Ultimately, I would only recommend the Lava Cake disposable from Dank Tank for its flavor, which felt true to the strain profile. Although the other three disposables felt harsh and generic, all four disposables had some of the desired effects with moderate potency. The least favorite from this batch was their Sherbet, which tasted artificial compared to the other strains. You can currently find Dank Tank disposables on their website here.

Cake Vape Carts : Are They All Fake?

12

Here at Dab Connection, we try to leave no stone unturned when it comes to investigating cannabis product brands, in the interest of informing the public. However, sometimes the more we investigate, the more questions that turn up. We’re going to tell you everything we know about Cake vapes and let you readers decide the verdict. Right now, this investigation is anything but a cakewalk.

We know there are fake Cake vapes out there

Most readers will want to know: can I trust Cake vapes? And we’ll have to answer that question with: Not always! We see plenty of counterfeit Cake cartridge packaging for sale at the usual suspects, DHGate, CartsPackaging, and Made-in-China.

Cake-DHGate

Cake-cartsPackaging

Cake-made-in-China

So that much is clear. That is incontrovertible evidence that there are fake Cake carts hitting the streets. We’re still fuzzy on the nature of any actual company behind this brand, but we can conclude with 100% certainty that it is at least frequently counterfeited. This means that you should not trust Cake brand carts from a plug, or from sketchy retail offerings such as gas stations and vape shops in unlicensed states.

Cake-Reddit-inquiries

In addition, we see that Cake cartridges have aroused plenty of suspicion when they find their way into the public’s hands. On our /fakecarts forum on Reddit, questions come in about this brand all the time. And of course, we find no end of sketchy third-party websites hawking Cake vapes.

Here’s a rare occurrence: Another cannabis site has also called Cake a risky brand. DailyCBD ranks Cake as a likely “scam company,” saying:

> “While it’s possible some Cake products are legit, there are too many fake products on the market for this to be considered a safe brand to buy. You can essentially roll the dice on what’s going to be inside these carts.”

They did some legwork and found no actual company website, and all the usual markers of a ghost company. HOWEVER, stay tuned because this story has more twists than a season of Twilight Zone.

Somebody sent us Cake carts to review!

Thanks to our policy of never accepting affiliates or paid promotions, many cannabis product companies are eager for a good review from Dab Connection. They know that when we review a product, we assure the public an unbiased, consumer-focused opinion. However, given our record of busting fake vape carts (and being the first site on the Internet to do so), it’s a mystery why anyone would intentionally send us boof carts to review.

Yet our reviewer received boof in Cake disposables! They reported mouth, throat, and lung irritation, virtually no effects, and all the signs that we’d gotten a severely cut cartridge. This has never happened before. Boof cart brand vendors usually avoid our attention.

We have of course tried to reach back out to our mystery contact only to see them vanish, no reply back yet. In the meantime, we still find no official company website beyond a blank parking page for a slew of fake lab tests. When we see “R&D testing” and “Encore Labs,” we know to read no further. Also, all these tests appear to be for gummy edibles, but we found this page starting from a vape cartridge.

And yet clearly there is somebody with a vested interest in this brand, because it shows a lot of legal activity.

Cake sues everybody

As pointed out by our reviewer, there have been multiple lawsuits regarding this Cake brand – pressed by the brand against others. No less than Law360 reported that this Cake company had sued other California distributors claiming copyright infringement and rip-off brands. The company making Cake is officially identified by Law360 as “AK Futures LLC.” Over time, we’ve found this brand suing four other companies:

* Limitless Trading Co. LLC

* Green Buddha LLC

* Smoke Tokes LLC

* Boyd Street Distro LLC

Here is an example of the docket history of one of these suits, against Smoke Tokes. We also find a ruling (PDF link) resolving the Green Buddha case as a default – nobody showed.

The legal trail doesn’t end there. There was also a lawsuit against one of the company’s own founders, Peter Amato, claiming – to loosely summarize – conduct unbecoming a founding partner.

While cake boxes are sometimes labeled “Orange, CA,” (maybe county or city?) we find AK Futures to be listed as a Santa Ana, California, company. Their listing in Corporate Wiki doesn’t give us much to go on beyond confirming they exist.

Then there’s the trademark filings. AK Futures LLC has filed a series of trademark applications with the USPTO. The trademarks include several variations on the cake logo, a “Caviar” logo which others have noted also seems to be associated with part of the Cake brand, and a stylized “C” over a layered cake silhouette. As others have pointed out (and we’d have to be blind to miss), the Cake logo font and the capital “C” resemble the Cookies brand enough that Cookies could probably sue for trademark infringement.

Furthermore, at least one of the trademark filings for the “Cake” logo by AK Futures LLC is filed in the category of clothing products. We have been seeing this tired old gimmick for years; a black market vape cart brand will have a website selling hoodies and hats, with no carts in sight, even though nothing but black market carts make it out to the street while conspicuously nobody is buying branded hoodies.

Is the Cake a lie?

What the crackers is going on? All the legal activity we tracked down above happened in 2021, so this seems to be a new brand getting established. Yet we find no legit distributors of Cake vapes. This brand was seemingly copied and spread all across the black market before the legit brand could reach dispensary shelves.

Here is a video review from February of 2021, and the hosts claim they see these carts “everywhere,” so we see they were likely hitting the streets before all the trademarks were filed.

Yet USPTO filings cost money. Attorneys to file lawsuits also cost money. Registering an LLC costs money. The papers didn’t all jump off a desk and file themselves. So who is this brand, where is this company, where is all this coming from? Casper the Friendly Ghost?

Without all the paperwork, we would suppose that this was simply a case of the usual black market packagers in China cooking up a brand out of thin air like always. With the paperwork, perhaps this is a new tactic by black market packagers to make their brand seem legit. Or maybe we have another case like Muha Meds and Big Chief, long-standing black market brands which tried to go legit only to find that their period of non-licensed operation allowed counterfeits to get out of hand.

Readers, we leave the mystery in your lap. Report any findings of Cake carts or any sign of a legit owner here in the comments or in our forum.

Huni Badger Review – High Quality Nectar Collector

huni badger review

Today we will take a close look at the Huni Badger, one of the most popular electronic nectar collectors right now. The unit itself is sold separately. Huni Badger kits, replacement parts, and other accessories are available to purchase on their website. The Huni Badger kits, which are available in seven colors, currently run for $189.00 on their website. We will detail our experience objectively as always in our non-affiliate reviews. For this review, I will try out the candy purple Huni Badger kit without the glass bubbler, which was not provided for this review.

Pros:

  • Slightly bulky yet strong build
  • Muscular design
  • Surprisingly excellent flavor
  • Smooth taste
  • Quick heat-up time
  • Ingenious storage
  • Easy maintenance

Cons:

  • Much pricier than other similar nectar collectors
  • Needs rechargeable battery
  • Lack of USB charging port

Recommendations: Battery life and performance could use some improvements or upgrades, as well as lower temperature settings to prevent overheating.

huni badger open kit

The Huni Badger is a pocket-sized electronic nectar collector kit designed for the consumer on the go

With its slightly bulky yet robust build and muscular design, the extremely popular Huni Badger is durable, with a strong stainless metal body. This is definitely one of the strongest portable electronic nectar collectors you can find in the consumer market. Although convenient to use, this electronic nectar collector requires a rechargeable 18650 Lithium-Ion battery. A battery charger is especially recommended for this device, which is also available to purchase on their website.

huni badger unit and content

One of its strengths is the surprisingly excellent flavor while one of the weaknesses of the Huni Badger is the lack of temperature control

With its efficient hollow ceramic heating barrel, the flavor we get from this device is surprisingly good for this electronic nectar collector. The Huni Badger kit includes the following:

  • Huni Badger unit
  • Three storage units
  • Additional mouthpiece
  • Low-temp ceramic tip
  • High-temp ceramic tip
  • Three cleaning brushes
  • Stainless steel dab tool

This electronic nectar collector is most efficient with live resin sugars, sauces, diamonds, shatter, crumble, and cold cure hash rosin. However, one of the weaknesses of the Huni Badger is the lack of temperature control. It goes as low as 192°F/88°C to as high as 703°F/372°C. So, there may be some minor trial and error, depending on which kind of extract is used.

huni badger kit content

Operating the Huni Badger for best performance:

  • Charge the 18650 battery if necessary.
  • Take out the unit from the kit.
  • Insert battery once fully charged.
  • Remove the coil cap from the body.
  • Screw on the mouthpiece.
  • Turn on the unit by pressing the power five times quickly
  • Gently tap the surface of your extract using the ceramic tip.
  • Inhale slowly through the mouthpiece. A glass bubbler attachment is strongly recommended. Caution: If you inhale too quickly, the extract will directly travel down your throat.
  • Recharge the 18650 battery if necessary.

Another great feature is the flashlight below the ceramic tip while another weakness is the lack of a USB charging port

One of the most useful features of the Huni Badger is the flashlight below the ceramic tip, which is especially necessary if you’re in the dark or somewhere with limited light. Another great feature is that the Huni Badger barely requires maintenance since any residue can be efficiently burned off by turning it on without touching any extract for a few minutes. The unit also performs well in the flavor department, compared to other similar electronic nectar collectors. For our trial runs, the Huni Badger worked well with Utopia Extracts live resin, Errl Hill live resin, and Exhale Wellness Delta-8 crumble for this review.

huni badger kit storage

The last useful feature is its ingenious addition of several storage units, which are easy to clean and maintain

The next useful feature is its ingenious addition of several storage units. Two are provided within the kit and one is attached to the Huni Badger ceramic tip cover. Although the storage units are pretty small, most concentrates will be able to fit in the storage cups. Admittedly, the storage cups would be one of the few units to clean and maintain before and during travel.

huni badger unit breakdown

Overall, I would recommend the Huni Badger, especially for fans of electronic nectar collectors

To sum up my thoughts: I would recommend its bulky yet robust build, muscular design, excellent flavor, quick heat-up time, innovative storage, and easy maintenance. However, the price for the Huni Badger is much higher than other similar or smaller electronic nectar collectors, closer to the value of the Lookah Seahorse X. The main weaknesses of the Huni Badger are the lack of a USB charging port, the use of battery-centric operation, and the lack of temperature control. If they are able to improve these aspects of the Huni Badger, then this would be one of the most perfect electronic nectar collectors available anywhere.

You can purchase this nectar collector in seven different colors for $179.00 here. The available colors are nitro green, black, pearl white, royal blue, crimson red, calico orange, and candy purple. Glass bubblers, ceramic tips, batteries, chargers, replacement parts, and other accessories can also be purchased through their official website.

Yocan Lux Review – Intuitive, Discreet and Durable

yocan lux review

Today we will delve into the latest 510-threaded cartridge battery from Yocan Tech. Yocan Tech currently also offers a variety of dry herb, oil, and concentrate vaporizers. We have previously reviewed several of their products, including their Evolve 2.0, Uni Pro, Armor, Vane, Trio, and most recently, their Stix. The full retail price for the Yocan Lux kit currently runs for $18.99 at www.yocan.com. We will detail our experience objectively as always in our non-affiliate reviews. For this review, let’s focus on their Yocan Lux even further.

Pros:

  • Discreetly portable
  • Extremely durable
  • Convenient for travel
  • Slightly more temperature control
  • Intuitive user-friendly design
  • Solid battery performance
  • Cheap price

Cons:

  • None

The Yocan Lux is a slick new 510-threaded cartridge battery that is very easy to use, discreetly portable, and convenient for travel

The Yocan Lux is a slick new extremely durable 510-threaded cartridge battery that improves upon their own previous B Smart battery in a number of intuitive ways. Instead of the voltage dial at the bottom of the B Smart battery, the dial is located near the 510-thread base of the Lux battery. Its ultra-portable size is very easy to use, conceal and travel with as it takes very little space. Like the Yocan Rex, the Lux battery is discreetly portable and user-friendly. The 510 thread for the Lux also felt more secure and less flimsy than other similar 510-threaded cartridge batteries.

yocan lux close up

Similar in performance as the Stache ConNectar slim battery, Linx Ember battery, and Toqi 510 battery

In terms of performance, the 400mAh battery is very decent with impressive strength and mileage. The Yocan Lux is similar in performance to the Stache ConNectar slim battery, Linx Ember battery, and Toqi 510 battery. However, the Lux is slightly more versatile with its variable voltage dial than other similar 510-threaded cartridges with only three heat settings. In terms of flavor, the Delta-10 live resin cartridge tasted less harsh than other batteries, even on the highest voltage setting.

yocan lux voltage dial

The best feature of the Lux is the variable voltage dial

The retail price for Yocan Lux is listed at $17.99 per unit on their official website. In my opinion, this is one of the better 510-threaded cartridge batteries with its range of temperature control from 1.8v to 4.2v. While The Lux has more features than the Stashe slim battery, the Lux isn’t too much more expensive for a variable voltage battery. The Lux also has better overall battery life, temperature range, and strength for a slightly less price value than the Linx Ember battery. On the other hand, the Linx Ember kit still has a bit more versatility with the added bonus of being able to work with extracts. In addition, this is much less expensive than the TOQI 510 battery, which admittedly has a much different set of features than the Lux battery.

yocan lux 2

Overall, Yocan Lux is one of the better 510-threaded cartridge batteries as it is discreetly portable, extremely durable, and convenient for travel

Ultimately, I would also recommend the Yocan Lux for its slightly more temperature control, intuitive design, and solid battery performance. The most useful feature of the Yocan Rex is its variable voltage dial, which is now located at the top of the battery for better accessibility. Because of its discrete size, extreme durability, and ready-to-go convenience, this is one of the better 510-threaded cartridge batteries. Also, the cheap price for Yocan Lux doesn’t break the bank, so I would recommend getting a backup Yocan Lux battery, just in case of emergency. The Lux will be available in five different colors: black, silver, red, gold and cyan. You can preorder the Yocan Lux 510-threaded battery on the official website here.

Know Your State Laws

Before you begin growing cannabis in your backyard, you’ll want to keep your state’s laws in mind. Each state will have different regulations on how many plants you can grow and how much bud you can produce.

Not following your state’s laws surrounding cannabis farming isn’t just a matter of ignorance—it could result in fines or even jail time. Thankfully, the Internet offers a plethora of resources to keep you up-to-date on the latest laws and regulations surrounding your favorite herb. Just make sure to do your research and you should be golden! (EDITOR NOTE: Our own state-by-state cannabis legalization guide is one such resource).

Choose the Perfect Spot for Your Plant

Like most plants, cannabis needs direct sunlight for at least six hours a day, so you’ll want to place it in any area that gets lots of sun around midday. This is when the sun is at its highest peak, producing the best quality of light!

Light breezes can be good for your plant, as they keep away pests and bring more nutrients, but too much wind could destroy all of your hard work. If you need a wind block, try to put up a fence or place your cannabis behind a row of bushes.

Apart from the environment, one other thing you might want to keep in mind is people. While cannabis is legal in many states across the nation, there’s still some social stigma surrounding it. If you’re worried about giving the wrong impression in your neighborhood, you’ll want to keep privacy in mind. Most laws actually require that plants be hidden from the street.

Get the Right Soil and Nutrients

Cannabis plants prefer soil that contains a lot of nutrients and organic matter while providing plenty of drainage. Some homeowners choose to dig a sizable hole in the backyard and put down fresh soil, while others prefer to place their plants in a pot.

By using a pot, you can maintain better control over the exact amount of soil and nutrients you use. If you do choose to plant your cannabis into existing soil, you’ll want to perform a soil test first to ensure that it has all the right nutrients for your plant to flourish.

When completing a soil test you will be looking at:

  • pH
  • Water Retention
  • Clay
  • Sand
  • Silt
  • Nutrient Makeup
  • Drainage

If your soil isn’t showing the right levels, then high-quality potting soil is the next best alternative. It’s designed to contain the right balance of nutrients, so you can plant wherever you please!

growing-containers

Pick Your Growing Containers

Cannabis is a highly adaptable plant, meaning it can be grown in a variety of containers. The one you choose can be based mostly on personal preference and your specific needs.

If you need to move your plant often or you won’t be in the same location for very long, a pot may be the best choice. As mentioned above, these containers also allow you to more directly control the levels of nutrients, water, and soil you add to the plant.

If you’re looking to grow a small-to-medium-sized plant, a 5-gallon pot may be just what you need to get started. Plants that will grow to 10 feet or higher will require a 10-gallon pot.

You can also install a raised garden bed in your backyard if you’re looking for something more long-term. Size is a consideration here, though, as even larger beds can restrict your plant’s roots and, by extension, its growth.

Learn How to Care for Your Plant

Cannabis plants grown outdoors can be tricky because they are never on a set schedule. Exposure to the elements means that your plant’s growth cycle will vary depending on the water, sunlight, nutrients, and temperatures in the environment. To grow cannabis in your backyard, you’ll need to learn the typical stages of growth. That way, you’ll be able to recognize subtle transitions and respond accordingly!

Typically, cannabis harvest time occurs around October, but if you’re in an area that’s prone to early winters, you might consider harvesting in September. Plants that don’t receive enough sunlight may also flower earlier than normal.

The key here is to know how your plant will react throughout the year so you can be on the lookout for any changes or warning signs regardless of the month or the weather. You’ll also need to research your plant’s maintenance and care needs. Trimming the right way and making sure you prune your plants carefully will be key to their growth and survival.

Don’t Forget to Enjoy

After putting in all the work to get to the harvest, don’t forget to take some time to enjoy the fruits of your labor! Whether you’re using a bong, a dab rig, or even making edibles, there are so many options available for recreational and medicinal cannabis use.

Growing cannabis in your backyard doesn’t have to be an intimidating task. As long as you’re informed and have the tools you need, you can start growing! Stay curious and keep learning new techniques to become a better grower and get the best results.

Divine Tribe V4 Concentrate Vaporizer Review – Affordable and Efficient

dtv4 review

I originally bought my Divine Tribe V4 vaporizer a while ago.  I just checked my emails, and I first ordered it on July 28th, 2020.  The basic setup includes the 510 threaded base, two quartz crucibles, a metal top cap, a metal drip tip, and some accessories and extra O-rings.  I think mine also included a free silicone glass water piece adapter.

Pros:

  • Efficient CCELL hardware
  • Above-average potency
  • Fair taste
  • Affordable value

Cons:

  • Plastic mouthpiece and tube
  • Taste/potency could be improved

Recommendations: I would recommend anyone who likes Cannabis concentrates to consider this Divine Tribe V4 vaporizer.  Especially if you already own some vape devices or batteries.

vaporezer set up

Divine Tribe accessories

There is a great selection of accessories for the DTV4 vaporizer, and I have collected a few pieces so far.  The first thing I bought was the “Hubble Bubble” 14 mm glass joint hydra tube, that I ordered from Ineedhemp.com, the same website that sells the DTV4 vaporizer.  Eventually, I bought the quartz, 90-degree bottomless banger from the same website.

I’ve had a nice Grav Stax water pipe setup for a couple of years, but it wasn’t until just recently that I ordered the 510 extension and new vape mod with Arctic Fox firmware loaded onto it and started using my DTV4 with my Grav Stax piece.  The 510 extension makes a huge difference, and so does the Arctic Fox firmware.  I bought the mod, 510 extensions, and a 510 base device too from a fellow Ohio medical marijuana patient, who makes them and sells them on Discord and Reddit.  He goes by “FearandLawyering” on both places, and I have seen his extensions and other items in a few national subreddits like r/waxpen.

I’m not really sure how you can use the DTV4 with a full-size water piece, without a 510 extension.  You would either have to have the entire mod be hanging by the bottomless banger, or have something under the mod to make it the exact right height for the water piece.  Maybe it’s different with a smaller water piece, but I don’t know.

So far, I have only tried the quartz and titanium crucibles.  The device included two quartz crucibles, and I have since ordered a few titanium ones.  I need to get in a habit of keeping them clean better, but I am trying.  They also sell a Silicon Carbide crucible on Ineedhemp, as well.  I haven’t had the chance to try one of those yet, but maybe someday.  I’m not really sure if that one is supposed to be better than titanium.  I like the titanium one so far because it’s easier to clean than the quartz, but they both work awesome, in my experience.

Amazing flavor and effects!

I bought a nice selection of tasty concentrates for this review, including a couple of live hash rosins and live resins too.  I really like how lately more companies have been including both the cannabinoid and the terpene content on the labels. It would be great if Firelands Scientific would join this trend with their live hash rosin concentrates and carts, but not so far.  This was the same case with the Vapen live resin “cake batter” that I bought, but thankfully the Buckeye Relief Koko Delta Shift Live Resin and Ancient Roots Forza San Souchi Live Rosin Jam do include terpene content, and these are some impressive stats.

I started with the Buckeye Relief Delta Shift live resin, because the terpene content is the highest that I’ve ever seen so far, and also Buckeye Relief is my favorite Cannabis company so far.  I was curious about this stuff, so I emailed Buckeye Relief and asked them about it.  They explained that it is partially decarbed, so that you can vape it at lower temperatures and taste the terpenes more.  So far, I really like it.  It has a consistency like honey, and the flavor and effects are amazing.  It has 63.84 mg/g of Myrcene!  That’s extremely high.  I’m surprised that a hybrid would have such high myrcene content because from what I’ve read, that would usually be an Indica.

The other concentrate that I recently bought, which did have the terpenes listed, was this Ancient Roots Forza San Souchi live rosin jam.  The top terps here are Limonene at 27.70 mg/g and Caryophyllene at 18.80 mg/g, with Myrcene in third place at 10.50 mg/g, so some awesome terpene content too!  I have really enjoyed vaping all of these concentrates in the DTV4 vaporizer.

firelands

Similar Cannabis products for comparison:

I know there is another concentrate 510 thread vaporizers out there, but the DTV4 is the only one that I have tried so far.  I’ve considered the Sequoia because the crucibles for my Crossing Core are supposed to work in that too, so that would be convenient, or the Molecule 22 looks really cool, especially with its ESCC heater.  I don’t really understand that, but I think it’s supposed to be more temperature accurate.

The other similar product that I own is my Crossing Core portable electronic dab rig, that I mentioned above.  It’s awesome and really easy to use and the battery lasts a while. I wish it had removable batteries or that you could use it while it’s charging.  It’s a real pain when you go to take a dab, and it just melts and you’re waiting for the device to vibrate and tell you that you can inhale, but it doesn’t and then you realize the battery is dead.  That isn’t a problem with my DTV4 setup, since I can just swap out the two 18650 batteries.

firelands

Conclusion

I’m a big fan of this Divine Tribe V4 concentrate vaporizer.  I recently bought a Crossing Core portable electronic dab rig.  And I have been using that, but since I got my 510 extension and other accessories for my DTV4, I haven’t touched my Crossing Core.  I like how you have so many options with this vaporizer.  You can really customize the experience that you get from it.  So far, I have only tried the quartz and titanium crucibles, but I like the titanium better.  I would like to try the Silicon Carbide crucible sometimes too.  If you are considering a concentrate vaporizer, then the DTV4 is an excellent option.  The initial price can be as low as about $40 if you already have a vape mod.

You can find out more about the vaporizer here. Have you tried it? Let us know in the comments or on our forum.

Highland Concentrates Review – Great Taste and Good Effects

highland review

Today we will take a look at Highland Oil Company, which is a relatively new brand that arrived at my local dispensary. This is the first time trying this company, which currently offers a variety of concentrates throughout select dispensaries in California. This week, I picked three different types of concentrates from Highland Oil Company, which is their Shiskaberry cured sauce, Guava Kush cured resin, and Purple Berry live resin. For this review, I’ll take a look at the pros and cons of Highland Oil Company’s live and cured resin concentrates.

Pros:

  • Solid potency
  • Great taste/aroma
  • Very good effects
  • Affordable value

Cons:

  • Potency could be improved for live resin
  • Flavor could be improved for cured resin/sauce

Recommendations: Potency could be improved for live resin while the flavor could be improved for cured resin/sauce.

highland line up

Just as tasty as Loudpack Extracts, slightly tastier than Dimebag Concentrates

Guava Kush is a balanced hybrid strain between Guava and OG Kush that appeared in competition for the 2014 Cannabis Cup. The Guava Kush cured resin has the consistency of sugar with a golden yellow hue. The aroma and taste of this Guava Kush cured resin are sweet, tropical, and earthy with tangy hints of guavas, mangos, and pineapples. The effects of Guava Kush felt euphoric, relaxing, and focused as this felt great for a wake and bake session or during creative daytime activities. Overall, I felt this was just as tasty as Loudpack Extracts, but felt slightly tastier than Dimebag Concentrates. The THC-A % of Guava Kush is 86.36% and Delta 9 THC % is 1.02%.

highland details

Maven Extracts felt overall more potent than the Highland Oil Co.

Shishkaberry comes from an unknown origin yet won second place for best Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2001. Shiskaberry is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between DJ Short Blueberry and an unknown Aghani strain. The aroma and taste of Shiskaberry is sweet, fruity, and spicy. It has hints of berries from the Blueberry and hints of floral earth from the Afghani.

The effects of Shiskaberry felt calm, relaxing, and euphoric as it was perfect for late afternoons and/or sessions after work. However, the cured sugar from the Maven Extracts felt overall more potent than the Highland Oil Co. Skhiskaberry cured sauce. The total THC % of Shishkaberry is 71.98% and THC-A % is 78.10%.

highland purple berry
Highland’s Purple Berry

Purple Berry live resin was the tastiest of the three, while Guava Kush cured resin lacked some flavor

Purple Berry is an Indica-dominant hybrid cross between Grandaddy Purple and Blueberry. The look of the Purple Berry is similar to the Guava Kush, but with a darker amber hue. The aroma and taste of Purple Berry have an intoxicating sweet berry and grape candy smell with floral hints of tropical fruits, mint, sage, and earth. The effects of Purple Berry felt incredibly uplifting yet relaxing as it was perfect for evenings and nights.

Overall, the Purple Berry live resin was the tastiest of the three, while the Guava Kush cured resin lacked some flavor compared to the tastiness of the Purple Berry live resin and Shishkaberry cured sauce. Conveniently, the label for their live resin is shiny and glossy while the cured resin/sauce is clear-labeled. The THC % of Purple Berry is 82.93% and THC-A % is 86.97%.

highland guava kush
Guava Kush

Guava Kush was great for daytime, while Shiskaberry and Purple Berry was perfect for evenings and nights

The cured resin and sauce for Highland Oil Company is usually priced around $23 for a gram while the live resin is priced around $26-27 for a gram, pre-tax. Of the three extracts I picked up this week, the Guava Kush felt the most potent of the three, while the Purple Berry live resin had the most flavor. Shishkaberry felt the least potent of the three. The flavor was almost as tasty as the Purple Berry live resin. The Guava Kush was great for daytime, while Shiskaberry and Purple Berry were perfect for evenings and nights.

In conclusion, the cured and live resin concentrates from Highland Oil Company are very recommended for their solid potency, great flavor and very good potency/effects at a great affordable value. Overall, I felt this was just as tasty as Loudpack Extracts, but also better than Dimebag Concentrates. However, the Maven Extracts cured sugar felt more potent than the Highland Oil Co. cured resin. Of the three extracts that I picked up this week, the Purple Berry live resin was the tastiest. Runtz Extracts Review – Good Taste and Aroma

runtz review

Today we will take a look at Runtz, one of the latest collaborative brands to come out of Cookies Enterprises. So far, we covered some of the concentrates from Lemonnade and Minntz, both of which are collaborations with Cookies Enterprises. Runtz currently offers flower eighths, cartridges, and concentrates at most dispensaries in California and Oregon as well as most Cookies and Lemonnade locations in Los Angeles, Portland, and Washington. For this review, I’ll take a look at the pros and cons of Runtz live resin sugar.

Pros:

  • Excellent quality
  • Great taste/aroma
  • Good potency/effects
  • Very smooth

Cons:

  • Not quite as potent as other live resin concentrates

Recommendations: The potency of the live resin sugar could be improved.

hawaiian runtz box and extract

Runtz extracts are similar in appearance to the other sugars from Lemonnade, Minntz, Cannatique Concentrates

This week, I picked up two of their strains, Apple Runtz and Hawaiian Runtz. Apple Runtz is believed to be an Indica dominant hybrid between White Runtz and Apple Fritter. Taking the end of the year spotlight, Runtz won this year’s Leafly strain of the year. The appearance of this sugar with small to medium THC-A crystals covered in a thin HTE layer, similar to the other live resin sugars from Lemonnade, Minntz, and Cannatique Concentrates.

cannatique red rum set up

More potent than Lemonnade, weaker than Minntz and Cannatique

The candy-like aroma of Apple Runtz is sweet, fruity, and floral with hints of sour apple jolly ranchers, lime-flavored skittles, and sweet tarts. The taste is equally sweet and fruity with creamy hints of sour apple and lime-flavored candy. The effects of Runtz felt uplifting, relaxing, and sleepy as time wore on. However, the taste and potency of Apple Runtz is slightly weaker than the live resin sugar from Minntz and Cannatique Concentrates. The THC % of Apple Runtz is 69.38% and the delta-9 THC is 9.06%. Both live resin sugars felt much more potent than the Lemonnade Lychee sugar and Tangeray badder.

apple runtz box

Slightly tastier but just as potent as Nug, Guild Extracts, and Terp Hogz

This week, I also picked up Hawaiian Runtz, which is a slightly Sativa dominant hybrid between Hawaiian and Pink Runtz. The pungent aroma of Hawaiian Runtz is even sweeter, pungent, and more floral than Apple Runtz. The taste is like a refreshing Hawaiian fruit punch with floral notes on the exhale. After some cerebral euphoria, the effects of Hawaiian Runtz felt uplifting, relaxing, and focused as I was able to remain productive throughout the day. The THC % of Hawaiian Runtz is 76.55% and the delta-9 THC is 5.91%.

Almost as tasty but not quite as potent as Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Cali Stripe

Both live resin sugars were slightly tastier but just as potent as the live resin concentrates from Nug, Guild Extracts, and Terp Hogz in terms of flavor, potency and effects. But they were also almost as tasty as the top-tier live resin concentrates from Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Cali Stripe Concentrates, but not quite as potent.

hawaiian runtz box

Runtz live resin sugar is recommended for its quality, taste, and smoothness

Most Runtz concentrates, which include their badder, sugar, and diamonds, are priced roughly around 60-70, pre-tax. In my opinion, this is a very solid recommendation for its quality, taste and smoothness. While its overall potency could be improved, I really enjoyed the taste of both live sugars. In terms of flavor, Apple Runtz and Hawaiian Runtz are some of the tastiest concentrates I’ve had so far this year. However, Minntz still feels like the strongest and most potent of the Cookies collaborative brands.

Concluding our review…

In conclusion, this would be a definite recommendation, simply for taste and smoothness alone. However, Runtz live sugar is slightly weaker than Minntz, but stronger than Lemonade live badder and sugar. Overall, I would recommend Apple Runtz and Hawaiian Runtz, two of the tastiest concentrates I’ve had so far this year. Runtz might be my second favorite Cookies brand after Minntz, which still felt stronger than Runtz. Although the Runtz is weaker in potency, it makes up for that with its delicious taste. They currently offer flower eighths, cartridges, and concentrates at most dispensaries in California and Oregon as well as most Cookies and Lemonnade locations in Los Angeles, Portland, and Washington.

Minntz Extracts Review – Nice Effects and Taste

minntz review

Today we’ll take another look at the collaborative brand between Seed Junky Genetics and Cookies Enterprises. Last time, I was impressed by their Ice Cream Cake live badder that I wanted to try some of the other products they had to offer. Minntz currently offers flower eighths, pre-rolls, cartridges, and concentrates at most Cookies Enterprises and Lemonnade locations as well as select dispensaries in California, Oregon, and Washington. For this review, I will be looking at the pros and cons of Minntz live resin sugar.

Pros:

  • Better quality
  • Excellent taste
  • Stronger potency/effects
  • Great value

Cons:

  • None

Recommendations: None

minntz animal minntz 1
The aroma of Animal Minntz is sweet, earthy, and nutty with hints of mint

Both live resin sugars consist of small to medium-size THC-A crystals, similar to Cannatique Red Rum sugar

This week, I picked up two different strains from Minntz, Animal Minntz and Orange Push Pop. First up is Orange Push Pop, which is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Orange Cookies and Triangle Kush. The aroma is more pungent than both the Minntz Ice Cream Cake badder and the Lemonnade Tangeray badder. Both live resin sugars consist of small to medium-size THC-A crystals, similar to Cannatique Red Rum live resin sugar.

minntz orange push pop 1
Orange Push Pop is sweet with a nice creamy orange vanilla aftertaste that lingers in your mouth

Orange Push Pop was better than the Lemonnade Tangeray and Lychee in terms of flavor, potency and effects

The aroma of Orange Push Pop is sweet, tangy, and floral. It also has creamy notes of citrus, vanilla, pine, and lemon chamomile. The aroma also reminds me of yuzu, which is a honey citron tea popular in Asia. The taste of Orange Push Pop is even sweeter than its aroma with a nice creamy orange vanilla aftertaste that lingers in your mouth. The initially euphoric sensation of Orange Push Pop settles into deep relaxation of your nerves and muscles. The THC % of Orange Push Pop is 69.69% and the delta-9 THC is 3.02%. This Orange Push Pop strain was perfect as a wake n bake and/or daytime usage. This sugar was better than the Lemonnade Tangeray badder and Lychee sugar in terms of flavor, potency, and effects.

minntz close up

Animal Minntz was almost as potent as the Lemonnade diamonds, tastes even better than Minntz Ice Cream Cake

The other live resin sugar I picked up is Animal Minntz, which is a cross between Animal Mints x Thin Mint Cookies. The aroma of Animal Minntz is sweet, earthy, and nutty with hints of mint, diesel, and cheese while the taste is creamier, earthier, and more floral. The effects of Animal Minntz is relaxing and euphoric. Later becoming more sedative as the potent body effects intensify after each hit. The THC % of Animal Minntz is 71.93% and the delta-9 THC is 2.34%. This strain was perfect for late afternoons and evenings.  This Animal Minntz sugar was almost as potent as the Lemonnade diamonds and tastes even better than the Minntz Ice Cream Cake badder.

minntz boxes

Minntz is the best brand from Cookies Enterprises so far, almost as good as Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Cali Stripe Concentrates

The pricing for the Minntz live resin sugar is roughly around $60 pre-tax. In my opinion, this is a very solid recommendation over the Minntz and Lemonnade live badder for its overall better quality, flavor, and potency. So far, Minntz is the best collaborative brand from Cookies Enterprises as their live badder and sugar from Seed Junky Genetics was better than those from Lemonnade and/or Grandiflora Genetics. It was also almost as tasty and potent as the top-tier live resin concentrates from Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Cali Stripe Concentrates.

Minntz Live Badder Review – Tasty And Potent

minntz review

Today we will take a look at Minntz, a collaborative brand between Seed Junky Genetics and Cookies Enterprises. I wanted to try this brand when I first saw this brand at the Lemonnade store on Melrose In Los Angeles, CA. Minntz currently offers flower eighths, pre-rolls, cartridges, and concentrates at most Cookies Enterprises and Lemonnade locations as well as most other dispensaries in California, Oregon, and Washington. For this review, I’ll be looking at the pros and cons of the Minntz Ice Cream Cake live badder.

Pros:

  • Solid quality
  • Great taste
  • Strong potency/effects
  • Very smooth

Cons:

  • Can be pricier than other similar concentrates

Recommendations: I would love to see either higher THC % and total cannabinoids % or less expensive prices for some of your live resin concentrates, especially your live badder.

minntz front box

Consistency was similar to the 101 Cannabis Co and PFFN Concentrates badder

This week, I picked up Ice Cream Cake live badder from Minntz, which is a collaboration between Seed Junky Genetics x Cookies Enterprises. Ice Cream Cake was first bred by Seed Junky Genetics. Ice Cream Cake is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Wedding Cake and Gelato 33. Those are the two of the arguably most popular and tastiest strains in the recreational and medical market. This badder looks like a melted stick of butter and/or vanilla cake frosting and its consistency is extremely easy to work with. The aroma is sweet, creamy, nutty, and earthy with floral notes of vanilla, lavender, and cheese. Its aroma smells more pungent than the Lemonnade Tangeray live badder. Its consistency was similar to the 101 Cannabis Co Sundae Driver and PFFN concentrates OG Chem badder.

minntz top view

Tastier and more potent than Lemonnade live badder, The Live Resin Project budder

Minntz Ice Cream Cake has a pleasantly sweet, creamy, and nutty vanilla taste that’s also very potent. I much preferred the quality, taste, and aroma of this Minntz Ice Cream Cake over the Lemonnade Tangeray. This Ice Cream Cake live badder is the best one I’ve had so far from Cookies Enterprises. This was also much better than The Live Resin Project Sundae Driver live budder and 101 Cannabis Co Sundae Driver. However, it wasn’t quite on the top-tier level of concentrates from Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Terp Hogz.

minntz close up
This strain is good for symptoms of chronic pain, depression, anxiety, appetite loss, and insomnia.

Not quite as tasty and potent as Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Terp Hogz

The total THC % of this Ice Cream Cake is 73%, the delta-9 THC is 4.95% and the CBD is 0.13%. This Minntz Ice Cream Cake was perfect for afternoons and evenings. This strain is intended for symptoms of chronic pain, depression, anxiety, appetite loss, and insomnia. This live badder was tastier and more potent than the Lemonnade Tangeray live badder, 101 Cannabis Co Sundae Driver live badder and PFFN OG Chem badder. However, it wasn’t quite as tasty and potent as the top-tier level of concentrates from Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Terp Hogz.

The pricing for the Minntz Ice Cream Cake live badder is roughly around $60 pre-tax. In my opinion, this is a solid recommendation for its quality, taste, and potency. This is the best live badder I’ve had from any of the collaborations from Cookies Enterprises as I preferred this over the Lemonnade live badder. However, this wasn’t quite as potent as the Lemonnade Diamonds. Based solely on the only item from Minntz on my local dispensary menu, I would love to try more of their live resin sugar or diamonds.

Overall, I would recommend Minntz Ice Cream Cake live badder for its solid quality, great taste, strong potency, and effects

In conclusion, I would recommend Minntz Ice Cream Cake live badder for its solid quality, great taste as well as its relatively strong potency and effects. In terms of flavor and potency, Minntz Ice Cream Cake was better than the 101 Cannabis Co Sundae Driver live badder and the PFFN OG Chem badder. However, it wasn’t quite as tasty and potent as the top-tier live resin concentrates from Wonderbrett, Synergy, and Terp Hogz. This Ice Cream Cake live badder would be perfect for beginner and intermediate consumers. This is the best, most potent live badder I have had from Cookies Enterprises so far. Politics of Pot: New York Decriminalizes Down To Fine-Only For Cannabis

0
statue of liberty over fields of cannabis

Greetings, dabbers, and welcome to another weekly feature here at Dab Connection! Every Monday, we’ll be rounding up news stories about cannabis law, mostly in the US. Join us for this exciting time in history, the gradual end of pot prohibition, and keep track of this rapidly evolving field.

Blazing In New York Is Now Only A Fining Offense

New York population cannabis sign

No more jail time for offenders in New York State. Rolling Stone reports that the worst you can suffer from the law in New York for consuming cannabis is a cash fine, the same as a speeding ticket. If you’re caught carrying under two ounces, there’s a fine of just $50. The above-two-ounces fine is $200.

Civil rights watchdogs have pointed out that criminal charges for cannabis possession have frequently targeted minorities in New York in the past. Groundwork has been laid to expunge past records for cannabis-related offenses in New York.

The first attempt at a full recreational legalization was attempted this year, but the bill didn’t pass the state Senate. Senator Liz Krueger (D-Manhattan) said of this event: “Unfortunately, the delay means countless more New Yorkers will have their lives upended by unnecessary and racially disparate enforcement before we inevitably legalize.” In the meantime, the decriminalization is a band-aid until state lawmakers return to the bargaining table.

USDA Struggles To Devise THC Testing Rules

USDA logo

While the 2018 Farm Bill removed hemp species from the Controlled Substances Act, they’re still without legal guidelines to produce the crop on the federal level. CannaLawBlog reports that the hang-up is in drafting TCH standards. Without them, there’s no legal definition between plain old hemp and the recreational kind.

Hemp cultivation goes back a long way, some 10K years of recorded human history as one of the first fiber crops. The very sails of Christopher Columbus’ ship were woven hemp canvas when he set sail to discover America. Alongside our progress to legalizing THC-cannabis, hemp is an important industrial textile crop which farmers are eager to cash in on too. However, they want it free of the additional regulation that would be imposed on the smoke-able kind.

The difficulty lies in making a coherent federal policy against 50 states with 50 standards of testing. So far the best proposed testing method is to use post-decarboxylation, or more correctly gas chromatography. The problem there is that it tends to artificially inflate the levels of delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol concentration in the test result, which would lead to false positives.

Perhaps our testing standard should involve a volunteer to ingest some, wait 24 hours, and provide a urine sample? That’s been a bang-up method of confirming TCH levels so far.

California Cannabis Black Market Is Bigger Than Its Legal One

a dispensary counter in California

This year’s licensed cannabis sales in California show promise of rolling in at a green $3.1 billion, but licensed dispensaries aren’t the only ones with a smoking profit line. As the L.A. Times has it, the black market for cannabis has that all beat, projected to reach $8.7 billion, more than double the licensed sales.

One of the reasons cited for this is that cannabis is so expensive to produce under the provisions of Proposition 64. This leads to an easily undercut market, together with a number of counties and cities which won’t welcome marijuana within their jurisdiction. California being a coastal city, it is also more vulnerable to bootleg brands making it in from overseas.

California is easily the biggest cannabis market in the US, dwarfing sales in Colorado or the entire nation of Canada. But that’s still not all the business it could be doing, if it could find an equilibrium favorable enough to bring the market over the counter rather than under it. The president of the United Cannabis Business Assn. puts illegal operations 10 to 1 over legal ones in the state.

CCELL Dart Review: Hard Hitting, Clean Taste

[sc name=”AMP_Rating”]The Dart vape is a pod system developed by CCELL. This turned out to be another excellent system for vaping, almost identical to the Uno vape, but in a different form factor. Here we go through the details of using the CCELL Dart and review its performance.

These use a similar core as CCELL cartridges, but in pod format. So far, this is the strongest hitting vape pod system we have tried, crushing Stiiizy and any THC Juul pods. See why it made our list for the best cartridge and pod designs of 2019.

Pros:

  • Hard hits
  • Excellent taste delivery
  • Discreet
  • Pods are interchangeable with CCELL Uno

Cons:

  • Uses a lot of oil, but doesn’t waste it

Recommendations: A slight angle on the internal part of the pod would result in greater efficiency.

Update 9/23/2019: Dart Pods are now available for individual sale in empty form.

CCELL Dart vape pods delivered a great experience across the board

We first reviewed the CCELL Uno and it is very similar to the Dart, so expectations were already high. The internal pod used is the same with a different mouthpiece. The CCELL Dart hit hard, tasted great, and overall it’s one of the strongest pod systems we have tried.

The Dart vape has a unique outside design and shape, internals same as Uno

ccell dart
Nice mini size on the Dart vape.

This vape system has a pretty unique round shape.  However, the outside is more of a rounded, compact shape. It’s great for discreet vaping as it has a smaller height than other vaping systems. The oil capacity of the pods is 500ml.

Same CCELL reliable ceramic core powers the center

The internals are designed the same as the Uno, which features a ceramic core atomizer, just like that on CCELL’s famous cartridges. That ceramic core is what helps put CCELL over the top of other manufacturers as you will see below.

ccell core
CCELL use smaller cores. This was taken from a City Trees vape pen that uses disposable TH001.

Pods use a snap closing system that keeps airflow tight, no airflow issues like has happened on Stiiizy

ccell dart pod
Take a look at the plastic pieces sticking out on the top. That makes it tough to refill.

I now have used four pods: two on the Dart and two on the Uno, all with no issues. A common issue found in Stiiizy pods is that if rubber piece gets dislodged, it ceases to work since the airflow is not activating the battery. It’s almost as if CCELL anticipated this problem by making the Dart pods have a solid plastic snap closing piece over the rubber. This ensures you do not run into an issue where the rubber is not properly placed.

Dart pods are not meant to be refilled

The snap close system makes Dart vape pods harder to refill than others. Getting the mouthpiece off is very tough and I ruined one trying. CCELL does not recommend these for refill and they are not made for it, but I have to try anyway as that’s what most of us would do. I would not recommend trying to refill these, too difficult.

w vape syringe
For this review I used a W Vapes syringe, but most likely your Dart pods will already be filled.

Hits are really hard on the Dart vape

There’s no lack of strength here at all. It also hits through more oil, so you do not need to hit it as much. 2 puffs on the Dart is like 3-4 puffs on a regular cart. You might be surprised with the effects if you hit it as much as a regular cartridge, it might be too strong.

I found the Uno to hit slightly harder than the Dart. The only real difference between the Uno and Dart is the mouthpiece and battery. It might have been a one off pod hitting better than the other, but the Uno seemed to have slightly more of a kick to the hits.

The key is don’t take as many hits

Take less hits off the Dart than you would on a normal cartridge and you will get the same effects. This ensures your oil lasts longer. Otherwise, you might vape through THC or CBD oil pretty quickly on Dart pods.

Comparing the Dart to other vape pods

The first pod system that comes to mind for most California users is Stiiizy. Others might be familiar with the vFire that uses the same heating core as the Stiiizy, just has a different form factor. The vFire is found on the Plug Play vape and it’s also a great pod system. The CCELL Dart hits substantially harder than the Stiiizy and vFire setups.

stiiizy vs dart
Dart blows away ALD’s hardware on strength.

One advantage Stiiizy and vFire do have is you can refill them easily. Dart pods are very difficult to refill. Overall, when it comes to Stiiizy vs Dart, Dart wins.

CCELL Dart compared to standard cartridges

dart pod vs cartridge
Carts are more efficient, but the Dart hits harder.

Compared to standard CCELL cartridges, the Dart does hit harder, but it also goes through oil faster. Some might still prefer standard carts over the pod system, but those looking for a really hard hit and faster effects probably will prefer the pod.

There is no comparison to the Dart and non-CCELL carts. Most clones really just don’t hit that hard. In fact, most the time when I buy carts that are prefilled, if it is not a new gen CCELL cart I often will skip it unless its a special type of oil that I might transfer over. In general, I have become more in favor of getting a syringe of oil and putting it into a CCELL cart rather than get a prefill of a clone. Other non-clone types of carts are also just unreliable, like that found on Brass Knuckles.

Standard cartridges are also refillable as long as they have a removable top like the TH2 series.

The Dart is now available to buy empty and prefilled

ccell dart pod bottom
Leaking never happens with this type of bottom connection.

The CCELL Dart vape is now sold in empty form by Oeone Inustries and you can get them here. They are available in packs of 3 for $20 up to packs of 100 for $475. They also sell the Dart battery itself for $35 and the battery with 3 pods as a kit for $50.

Currently you can find prefilled Dart pods from Moxie and Absolute Xtracts in Live Resin form.

Concluding our CCELL Dart review

The Dart vape pod system is another great product, but at this point we have come to expect that from CCELL. When they release a product it seems like it was already thoroughly tested to make sure it will work well.

Fake 710 King Pen: Updated June 2019

54

Fake 710 King Pen cartridges are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country try to sell them all the time and they buy them directly from China. Here, we’ll show how to identify them and name the companies making fake 710 King Pen cartridges.

Not only is this a problem but real 710 King Pens have also been having problems recently, testing dirty. See vape pen pesticides, strength, and residual solvents test page for more information. The real 710 King Pen THC cartridges are made by Loudpack. You can find a list of authorized retailers here and at the bottom of this page.

What is a fake 710 King Pen?

710 King Pen is considered fake when it contains oil that was not made by the actual company. In China, companies make vape pens with 710 King Pen branding, logos, and packaging that are then shipped to different buyers who fill them. The real cartridges are most likely manufactured in China as well, but they are filled by the actual  We are not sure if the real company is able to pursue any of the Chinese makers legally, because there might not be a trademark since technically 710 King Pen is a federally illegal product. The same problem exists with fake Brass Knuckles cartridges.

Here’s the first thing to look for: logo on the cartridge body

If there is no logo on the body of the cartridge, it is fake. See below a picture of a real 710 King Pen with the appropriate logo placement.

real 710 king pen
Has no logo? it’s a fake 710 King Pen

If the logo is placed somewhere else, you do not have a legitimate 710 King Pen. Keep reading for other information if your vape cart passes this test.

Fake 710 King Pen will be more obvious to identify

fake 710 king pen
There are many minor things that you’re able to see differently from the fake 710 King Pens

Unlike the fake Heavy Hitters, fake 710 King Pens are a more obvious and you can usually tell easily is actually fake or not. Therefore, you can notice by various factors, from the sticker of the cartridge to the quality of the oil. But be aware that not all of these fake cartridges don’t have the same variables.

Key things to look for when identifying fake 710 King Pen

You can tell by the font, the low quality of the print as well as the sticker

fake 710 king pen cartridges
The sticker that the fake 710 cartridges have seem to be very low quality of a print.

First of all, you can tell right away that the font from the fakes are different than from the original. Above all, keep an eye on this, because each fake 710 King Pen cartridge might have different fonts. It can be the slightest change, as in just the boldness of the font, that can show it’s not real. Also, you can notice that the sticker seems to be made poorly, the color of it seems to be a bit lighter.

Oil color on these fake 710 King pen seem lighter and looks like it’s more of a wax consistency

Something that I realized with the fake 710 King Pen is the oil quality. It seems like these fake cartridges seem to have cloudier looking oil and also seems glossy, compared to  the real ones. Also, some people claim that the oil is more of a wax consistency than a thick oil.

It doesn’t have a logo at all

Fake 710 king pens don't have the logo
The real cartridges always have the logo of the crown or something relevant to the company.

Not to mention that some of these fake 710 King Pen don’t have any sort of logo representing the company. But again, be aware that not all of these fake cartridges will be like this, some of them will have it.

Differing from the original ones, another thing that indicates if the 710 King Pens are fake is that they don’t have any lab testing sticker to indicate any kind of THC or CBD level on the packaging. Usually, 710 King Pens have that sort of information on the packaging or sticker. When you see one that doesn’t, then it most likely will be a fake.

Fake 710 King Pen cartridges and real ones are both in China

I went through and searched for various fakes. For ones that had a picture I am including a picture so you can identify fakes better below.  Below are pictures of various manufacturer’s fake vape cart. Please add any data you may have in the comments section or discuss fake 710 King Pen cartridges here on our forum. This page will be updated as new fakes are found. Real 710 King Pen vape cartridges are made in China as well. The difference is when they come to the U.S. they are filled with the proper oil. The fakes could be filled with any oil.

THC Oil Pen Vape Cartridge Tests: Pesticides and Strength

    695

THC Oil Vape Pen Cartridge Test Database

The following data and information show the test results of brands of prefilled vape pen cartridges also known as oil pens. Pesticides are a constant issue in these cartridges and strength is often incorrectly claimed. These tests are both for pesticides and residual solvents. Please note that the results are those taken at the date listed on the test. Testing is becoming mandatory in more states so in the future many of these same vapes may be clean or already be clean now.

Much thanks to @dat_dude41510, @dankbustersofficial (deleted account), @dabpengod2, and @thedojaapp on Instagram for allowing us to use their test results and starting awareness about this. We are including other test results as they become available. Cartridges’ results will be in alphabetical order by brand name. The FAIL indicates a fail on pesticides. Strength was also tested, but that can vary slightly test to test, so we did not put a FAIL if only strength was off. The cartridges tested are from California. A full list of cartridges that tested clean from this list is listed at the bottom of this page. We have recently partnered with cannabis lab consultants Digamma Consulting to provide more tests and should have these results up soon.

Fenhexamid exposure is detrimental to respiratory systems, digestive tract, muscular system, and the central nervous system. This synthetic fungicide may also induce severe eye and skin irritations.

Update: Below we have another lab result for the Dank Vapes Hardcore OG. This one also failed the test for pesticides, showing 11 pesticides that are outside the CA legal limit. Check for yourself:

The results shown above came from PSI Labs through Permafrostlabs. Although it should be noted that no pictures of the actual items tested were shown. There’s a big chance they tested a fake Dank cartridge as they are made available everywhere. It’s really hard for us to verify this test yet.

So I went straight ahead to PSI Labs and here’s the result from their website. Also, shoutout to Zack for pointing this out.

Exotic Carts Pesticides Test – FAIL, Additional Result FAIL

Exotic Carts testing result is out. One of the most popular vape cartridges right now and widely pirated. Tested positive for 13 pesticides under Category 1&2. A cartridge with this much contaminants, would you still try it?

    exotic carts
Has widespread availability but you might want to avoid this brand as much as possible.

Here’s the pesticides test results of Exotic Carts. As datdude41510 mentioned, a THC profile wouldn’t matter for a stuff that pops out at least 13 different pesticides and fungicides.

FlavRx came out with weak and dirty cartridges. It comes in at less than 60% THC. No extra charge for the pesticides. It should be noted that FlavRx also has cartridges in Nevada, and there if it tests dirty they don’t sell. So it might still be safe to vape in NV.

Update: We have here another lab result from their old packaging. This one is for the Gorilla Glue. Unfortunately, this one also failed for pesticides test. It shows that it contains 3 pesticides that are over the CA legal limit. Below is the lab result.

At 81% cannabinoids, Flight Farms came in strong and clean.

Friendly Farms Residual Solvent Test – PASS

Here we have a lab result for Friendly Farms that shows it passed the Residual Solvent test. The only thing that bothers us is that it contains 2066.67 ppm of n-ButaneIts still within CA legal limit of 5000 ppm per gram but still, this is somewhat alarming.

    See the lab result below:

Friendly Farms lab resultHeavy Hitters Pesticides Test  – FAIL, Additional Result PASS

Another disappointment as HH is pretty strong and seemed like a good value. See our in-depth Heavy Hitters review for more info.

Adding to this another product from Heavy Hitters was tested, it is the Sky Walker OG and the bad news is, the pesticide test failed. Although it has a good amount of THC on it Heavy Hitters should make it safe as well. You may check the results below.

    Sky Walker OG

Below is the disappointing result of the most recent pesticides and solvents test. Heavy Hitters fails again.

Kingpen Pesticides and Heavy Metal Test – Current FAIL, Previous PASS

Kingpen claims that their oils are distilled 5 times to ensure that it passes tests. The lab results that we have here are for their Jack Herer strain, which is named after the renowned marijuana activist, Jack Herer. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both the cerebral elevation associated with sativas and the heavy resin production of indicas. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative.

A new product is added here and it is the Mario Carts Strawberry Pie. But sadly the pesticide test failed. And for the THC content, we will consider it as low at nearly 70%. To check it yourself here are the results below.

    Looks simple… Mario Carts!

Here is the result of the pesticide test.

    How sad for Mario…

THC content…well a bit low for the strength.

This was surprising. Moxie is known for making exceptional quality extracts. Turns out they have pesticides in them, as Moxie failed the pesticides test. This is a California cart Luckily, we used a Nevada cartridge in our Moxie cartridge review. In NV they do batch testing, so Moxie is probably still safe over there.

Strength test for Moxie came out good with a 77% cannabinoid profile. Still would not hit it if its dirty though. They also should update their cartridge style.

The Clear came out clean without any trace of Category 1 & 2 pesticides but might be too weak for regular users. I’d say to each his own as some want to last the whole day vaping while some choose to puff with instant big hits.

The House Brand Pesticides Test – FAIL

This vape pen called “The House Brand” failed the pesticide test. This is another Myclo-infused pen. It tested positive for 5 pesticides and FAILED for MYCLOBUTANIL. By now, we should all know and be aware that when heated it converts to Hydrogen Cyanide. The House Brand packaging See below the lab results:

The following cartridges came out clean in alphabetical order:

Bloom Farms, Brass Knuckles, Flight Farms, HoneyVape,  Interstate 710, Jetty Extracts, Kurvana, Potter’s Cannabis Co., Raw Garden, Rove, Select Oil, Space Vape, Supernova, Supreme G, The Clear and Rove.

Cartridges that were clean and then later tested dirty:

    Kurvana Vape, LA Kush, Stiiizy

These are California cartridges that were tested. States with strict testing laws may not have these same issues. These tests are from random cartridges by the above brands and it does not mean all their cartridges are dirty or all the above are clean. Omicron V5 Review

-This Vape Pen Is Too Good To Miss!

    Omicron V5 Vape Pen
The Omicron V5 Vape Pen by W9 Tech

The Omicron V5 is the latest model from W9 Tech, and quickly became one of the most interesting vape pens that Dab Connection has reviewed so far. Omicron has good-quality atomizers, great taste and a slightly puzzling logo design…

Update 10/26/2017: W9Tech has informed us that the black ceramic is in fact Silicone Carbide (SiC).

Design & Quality of the Omicron V5

The Omicron V5 may be a little confusing by name, but it’s absolutely worth getting to know! This product is essentially their KISS Alpha Centauri V3 (commonly shortened to AC V3) 510 attachment, and a battery (called the Omicron battery) with a power capacity of your choosing, shipped separately.

Confused yet? That’s not all… The product is sold by W9 Tech. However, they also call themselves ‘Up Tech’, which seems to stand for ‘Utopia Planitia’. And, if you remember the original Omicron V25 from six or seven years ago, you’ll actually remember them as ‘Delta 9 Vaporizers’!

    Omicron Battery Kiss Alpha
Omicron Battery and Kiss Alpha Centauri Oil System

So, to say it’s hard to find information on this company, or know what to call them is confusing for most people, to say the least. Honestly, let’s just forget everything else (as they should too) and just say W9 Tech.

According to good old Wikipedia, ‘Utopia Planitia’ is “a large plain within Utopia, the largest recognized impact basin on Mars and in the Solar System”. Now, the Solar System is great, but why do I get a Viking vibe from this design?

    Omicron LD Battery

For this review, we’re reviewing what’s called the ‘Omicron LD battery’, which is 900mAh. It’s small but thick. It comes with a micro USB port to charge it, as well as FIVE different temperatures to choose from. Because the battery is designed to pair with their AC V3 and its sub-ohm atomizers, the battery settings are in watts, rather than volts like most batteries in vape pens.

    Omicron V5 Battery

    Temperature settings:

    • White is 6w
    • Yellow is 9w
    • Pink is 13w
    • Green is 16w
    • Blue is 19w

The Omicron battery has a subtle but easy to read light above the button that shows the power setting. The new spring-loaded button feels solid when pressed. The Omicron battery also has a longer 15 second cut off time, compared to 10 seconds for most other vape pens. Overall this battery is slick, small and portable – but powerful at the same time.

    Omicron V5 Kit Attachment Contents
    Omicron V5 Kit Contents

It includes both the stainless-steel ‘Centauri Cover’ and the ‘Alpha Globe’ glass cover, for those who prefer to see their smoke build up. The glass globe is a strong Borosilicate. It’s strong enough to drop a few times without you worrying about it cracking, unlike cheap globes at your local smoke shop.

    Here are the real upgrades compared to their earlier V2 model;

    • They’ve enlarged the air vents at the bottom of the attachment from 1mm wide circles, to four unique ovals that are 2mm tall and 4mm wide! This gives you an amazing amount of airflow, compared to their previous models. Not to mention, way beyond what most other vape pens we’ve reviewed offer.
    • They’ve also re-designed the mouthpiece, to have a much wider mouth opening. It has a nice airflow wall, which prevents too much air from going into the chamber, or inhaling too hard and splattering wax across the walls.

The new (left) mouthpiece features a wider mouth-hole than the previous model (right)

    Atomizers

The best part about this Omicron V5 vape pen is the V3 and the generation 3 atomizers.

W9 Tech is head and shoulders above most other coiled atomizers. As we all know, the atomizer is always the most important part of the vape pen.

This kit includes three atomizers: the new and exclusive ‘Sirius’ atomizer (more on that in a bit..), a quartz double coil atomizer, and a ceramic double coil atomizer that uses black ceramic (compared to white ceramic like other vape pens).

W9 Tech V3 Atomizers: Quartz Double Coil, Sirius Black Ceramic and Black Ceramic Double Coil

The Generation 3 atomizers by W9 Tech have also been re-designed. The new models are chubbier and have a 9mm wide atomizer cup, vs the previous models 8mm diameter. Each atomizer also comes with its own four built-in air vents under the atomizer, that are 2mm in diameter each. When pairing those with the AC V3s air vents, this design delivers superior air flow.

Quality Materials All Around On The Omicron V5

Unlike most vape pen companies, W9 Tech uses Grade 2 Titanium and openly provide testing to showcase their purity on the website. So, compared to ‘not really knowing’ what your coil is, or using horribly cheap coils (like This Thing Rips OG Four 2.0 and the KandyPens Elite), you’re getting the same quality titanium that you would use on a dab rig!

    Omicron V5
The Omicron V5 includes both a stainless steel mouthpiece and a strong glass globe

Unlike the Puffco Plus or the KandyPens Galaxy, the Omicron attachment itself is also made with durable stainless steel 304.

W9 Techs new coiled atomizers are what they call EHD models, which mean they use a thicker gauge coil. This means it will last longer and heat more evenly. Now, we all know quartz because everyone uses it, but why use black ceramic?

The black ceramic used in this atomizer by W9 Tech is called ‘fc2000’, and is somewhat porous. Basically, instead of your materials sliding off the white ceramic, the black ceramic absorbs it as it liquidizes. It can then slowly heat up with the coil wrapped around, and at lower temperatures you can get really tasty low temp hits.

    Sirius Atomizer

Let’s get to the new ‘Sirius’ atomizer. This atomizer is a replacement of the ceramic donut that was included in the two previous KISS V2 models. It’s a coil-less/low-temp atomizer with a unique idea. The Sirius atomizer contains a black ceramic cylinder, with a Grade 2 titanium coil going through its hollow center. The coil gets powered and heats up the black ceramic, which then melts your dab.

Now, it sounds great in theory. However, in use, the black ceramic is not porous enough to actually absorb your wax. So, what happens is, you place your wax on top of the atomizer, it heats up, and most wax slides off to underneath the cylinder or onto the walls. Therefore, while unique (and when working – delivers incredible taste) it’s not that effective in use. However, after posting this review, W9Tech reached out to us and stated that the Sirius atomizer needs to be loaded slowly, and this is why maybe it did not work well for us n the first go. W9Tech also recommends using the Sirius atomizer at 6 watts.

Another downside is that is gets very, very hot after a few uses. Especially when using the globe. Just wait for the unit to cool off a bit in-between each hit.

    Omicron globe
The Alpha Globe is a great option for those who enjoy vapor viewing!

Ease of Use: Better Than Others!

The Omicron V5 is a bit easier to use than other vape pens, simply because the attachment has no threading. This means it doesn’t require constant screwing on and off to load your vape pen, like the This Thing Rips R2 Series, OG Four 2.0, etc.

Other than that, it’s the same as most vape pens. Load 5 clicks to turn on, 3 to change temperature setting. Load, Puff, Enjoy.

It is slightly annoying that it gets hot so fast, meaning you can’t hit it multiple times. However, that’s a minor complaint.

The Sirius atomizer is also temperamental, as you have to get your wax perfectly on the top of the cylinder. Also, make sure the consistency of your wax will work with this atomizer. The best option is something gooey, so that it can cling to the correct place and melt as intended.

Strength On The Omicron V5 Can Get Tricky

Strength is a tricky thing. With Omicron V5 on the highest setting of blue, it delivers super strong hits. No alloys on these coils. It does this with high-quality grade 2 titanium, but those strong hits on blue sometimes feel like they’re from a cheaper coil that got hot too quickly just because of the high heat.

    Omicron cloud
The Omicron delivers good strength and big clouds, but manual control would be nice

Strength is good on the Omicron, but the main problem is that you cannot control the air flow yourself. Now that the improved mouthpiece controls the airflow, there is no manual control. This just means that there isn’t a way to inhale quick enough to get a controlled but lung-rippingly strong hit. W9Tech recommends using 19 watts as the setting for a strong hit.

In conclusion, if this pen had some sort of air flow control we may have given a 9 or 10 in strength for the Omicron.

Efficiency: Coiled Atomizers Much More Efficient Than Most Other Coiled Vape Pens

W9 Tech managed to correctly place their coils right at the bottom of the atomizer floor. This means no wax will escape underneath. With their wider gauge, there is a lot more surface area to catch your dab. This is key to efficiency on coiled atomizers.

Now, ironically, the coil-less atomizer included in W9 Tech’s previous AC V2 was a ceramic donut. Their ‘ALPHA CENTAURI 1701’ ceramic donut was more efficient than their coiled atomizers. A black ceramic insert was then added to the donut, and it was even better.

    Sirius Black Ceramic Atomizer
The ‘Sirius’ Black Ceramic Coil-less Atomizer

As mentioned above, the coil-less atomizer included here is “Sirius”. Sadly, Sirius is much less efficient then both coiled atomizers included. The quartz double coil and the black ceramic double coil work much better in this case. Wax tends to slide away before fully vaporized on Sirius, and you lose a ton of wax on the walls and around the cylinder. With some minor tweaks, this atomizer could be a home run.

Versatility / Atomizer Options: A Slight Loss

W9 Techs Omicron V5 comes with the previously mentioned quartz double coil atomizer, black ceramic double coil atomizer, and new ‘Sirius’ atomizer.

Sadly, the V3 is not cross-compatible with the earlier V2 atomizers. Because the V3s have added air flow and a wider size, it means the V2s don’t fit. Unfortunately, this means you lose access to the V2 1701 ceramic donut and a single coil.

    Omicron V2 V3
The new mouthpiece is wider and the single coil of the previous model doesn’t fit here

The Sirius atomizer is great in theory, but the 1701 ceramic donut is a better low temp atomizer. The black ceramic inserts on the donut made it easy to get use out of all your wax and keep an amazing flavor too. There is no V3 ceramic donut, hopefully there will be one soon…

    Portability: A Non-Issue, Great Size

    Omicron V5 size
The Omicron V5 fits discreetly in your hand

The Omicron V5 did great in portability. It’s only 4.5 inches tall, and easily fits in the palm of your hand. It is a bit on the heavier side because of the better materials used, but it’s not a big deal.

Discretion: We Like the Understated Design

The cool thing about the Omicron V5 is that is gives you the option of using a glass globe, which is great if you like to view your vapor. But more importantly, you get a discreet and durable black stainless-steel attachment.

    Omicron V5 vape pen
Only one light above the button

The subtle black design of the battery is nice. It does have the ‘Utopia Planitia’ design featuring an eagle and lion in gold on the front (questionable design..) but compared to the old flashing plastic KandyPens ‘K’, it’s subtle enough. There’s a tiny battery indicator light above the power button, but it has no bright colors or extra lights.

You can easily keep it in the palm of your hand, take a hit and put it away in a discreet manor. Even on the lowest temperature, you can get really flavorful dabs with the grade 2 titanium coils. You can really enjoy this vape pen and be discreet at the same time.

    Taste: Omicron = Delicious

The Omicron V5 uses the best tasting coils we’ve reviewed so far! The thick grade 2 titanium coils deliver a taste so close to a real low-temp dab rig hit, that we may have to change the rating for every other vape pen that uses coils.

If you run the Omicron battery on white (lowest), you can get extremely favorable hits. Especially if you pulse the button (press the button for 3 seconds or so, release for 1-2 and then press again) as to not burn your wax. By doing this, you can preserve much of the flavor.

If you’ve ever wanted a strong hit from a coil, wanted to taste your wax and not burn or ruin it with a cheap metal taste – this is what you’ve been dreaming of!

The black ceramic atomizer gives you the best taste out of both coiled atomizers. This is because you don’t have the high heat of the quartz, which can burn wax at the end.

The Sirius atomizer also delivers amazing taste, like the earlier 1701 model. However, your wax slides off, so it’s hard to use. It would be great to see another coil-less white ceramic atomizer in the future. Taste is getting such high marks because of the amazing coil metal.

    Value: A Total Steal!

At $76.99, the Omicron V5 is some of the best value you can get in comparison to other vape pens. The fact that this is cheaper than other vape pens with worse materials and specs is unbelievable.

    Omicron V5
$76.99 is great value considering everything you’re getting and high-quality materials used!

The Omicron V5 includes a 900mAh battery with micro USB charging, as well as three atomizers. The atomizers included are: one exclusive atomizer (Sirius), one rare black ceramic double coil, and one quartz double coil. W9 Tech made their atomizers with grade 2 titanium and have them tested in the USA.

W9 Tech includes a card with the Omicron V5 that says the battery has a ‘limited lifetime warranty’ and they’ll replace it for free for one year. Future replacements will have a service fee applied. W9 Tech doesn’t offer free replacements for everything like some do, but it’s good that your product is covered.

    Replacements: Peanuts for Excellent Quality!

Omicron atomizer replacements are such an incredible value! The cost of replacements can add up after a while, so think long term, people! Remember those KandyPens Prism+ atomizers for $34.95 and $9.95 shipping? Not only do you get better quality, but in comparison to competing products, this will save you money in the long run.

The USA tested grade 2 titanium used in this vape pen makes this price a steal. Knowing the metals and materials used in your products is a big deal, especially when you’re inhaling from them.

    Omicron V5 atomizers
W9 Tech replacement prices are insanely cheap!

While other companies are selling you shabby double coiled atomizers for $20-25 apiece, W9 Tech are selling their Gen 3 with unique bottom air vents for only $9.99 apiece!

Their unique Sirius atomizer is also only $11.99. So, even though it’s not the best atomizer in the world – it’s still a great little atomizer to use for low-temp, delicious dabs of the right consistency.

For these prices, it’s hard not to pick up a couple just to have around the house

    Omicron V5 Conclusion

W9 Techs Omicron V5 is one of the best, if not THE best coiled vape pen around. Its grade 2 titanium coils deliver a taste similar to a dab rig.

The Omicron V5 is small, it’s portable, the price is on point and replacements are peanuts considering the quality of materials used.

It does get hot after using it a couple of time, so it’s not perfect, but it’s getting there. You can get the Omicron V5 here. Make sure to add a battery if you don’t have one!

The selection of flower pleases customers who prefer joints, bongs, pipes, and bud vaporizers. When it comes to marijuana in San Bernardino, there’s not much Mac Mirage doesn’t have.

Unlike most dispensary menus on Weedmaps, Mac Mirage separates their wax products from cartridges. This makes viewing their selection much easier. Truth be told, the selection of cartridges at Mac Mirage outweighs the choices in wax. There’s still plenty on the shelves with roughly 35 products to pick from.

Prices on wax range from $60 per half gram on the top end to $30 per gram on the low side. To shelf brands like West Coast Cure’s BHOMB Hardcore OG take the smallest amount to have an affect. Budget names such as Emoji Extracts also do the job for a cheaper price.

Wax concentrates come in many forms and Mac Mirage stocks more than just shatter. You’ll find Clear Choice syringes full of such flavors as Lemon Drop or Cotton Candy. Looking through their cartridge menu reveals Space Nugs moon rocks for $20 a gram and a couple types of live resin.

    The Mac Mirage Customer Consensus

What customers have to say about Mac Mirage is as important as any amount or quality product they sell. You’d surely make a different choice if you saw that budtenders didn’t respect the patronage, parking lot was dark and unsafe, or any number of other concerns.

DabConnection searches hard and ensures every feature dispensary owns a large amount of top caliber reviews. They should also have a high overall ranking. A visit to Weedmaps shows Mac Mirage having 6422 reviews with 5 out 5 possible stars. Take a look at what people have to say.

Though accusations of Weedmaps falsifying reviews exist, even the best dispensaries tend to have at least a couple negative reviews. The worst you’ll see after scrolling through 10 pages of Mac Mirage reviews concerns a customer who didn’t get back his ID. That seems an honest mistake and one Mac Mirage isn’t 100% at fault on. The reviewer still gives 4 stars.

Those in the area who use a different dispensary would do well to give Mac Mirage a chance. They may very well win you over.

Don’t bother with pot shops that have more than a few negative reviews. Mac Mirage shows basically zero. There’s no sense paying a dispensary that doesn’t have the product you really desire. It’s a waste of your time and money. Customers can drop these concerns while shopping Mirage Alternative Care. Enjoy your time there, talk to the budtenders, and walk out knowing you got top product at a good deal.
