Cannavative is a Nevada based cannabis company. They involve in cultivation and production of cannabis extracts. They believe in the “soil to oil” high quality maintenance of cannabis and practiced this from the start. From the staff in the primary level care to the ones involved in extracts production. As a result, they have become experts in the craft from years of experience. Their products include a wide range of edibles, extracts and flowers.
Cannavative Group Growing Strong Since 2015
The Cannavative Group started in Reno, Nevada. Their CEO – Ross Kline is all hands on with operations. The company started in December 2015 and has now strongly continued with the help of their dedicated staff. They are recognized as one of the best cannabis companies in Nevada. They also previously partnered with PharmPods. Together, they’ve grown the best quality nugs. In October 2018, they partnered with SOL Cannabis to help improve their cultivation needs. Their products are available through licensed dispensaries found throughout Nevada.
Cannavative Has Wide Range of High Quality Products
Cannavative offers a wide range of cannabis products. In particular, their edibles include capsules and gummies. Their extracts include vape cartridges, honeycomb, shatter, terp sauce and tincture. Then they have flowers that are also available in pre rolls. For instance, DabConnection had the chance of trying out their shatter. Bert named Cannavative’s as one of the best shatters he has ever tried. It gave strong and pleasant effects. Please see here for the complete review.
Cannavative is Pro Legalization and Marijuana Awareness
Aside from producing high quality cannabis, Cannavative supports cannabis legalization as well as marijuana awareness. The young cannabis industry continues to evolve. Also, included are growing pains with black marketers. On the black market products are typically not tested clean, putting consumer safety on the back end.
Therefore the best way to achieve cannabis benefits is through regulation in contrast with prohibition. With this in mind, operating within industry regulations is a must. A few bad actors and everyone will suffer. Hence, we need great cannabis companies like Cannavative to lead the charge.

Here we compare Brass Knuckles vs Stiiizy again. We previously did this comparison and Stiiizy was the clear winner. Things have changed and Brass Knuckles is currently the winner between the two. Keep reading to see why.
Brass Knuckles has stronger THC oil than Stiiizy
Over the last year Stiiizy has severely weakened their oil. According to one delivery person, it’s because they are trying to make it more mainstream and the old version was too strong for some people. Whatever the case, for the regular user Stiiizy is now a no go. The oil went from a nice light colored distillate, to a yellow weak slime that might still be considered distillate.
UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety. We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.
Brass Knuckles on the other hand is not known for great oil either, but it is better than what Stiiizy is offering. The oil from Brass Knuckles is just OK. There are plenty of other brands out there. In California, Kurvana ASCND is better. In Nevada, Roots cartridges are better. Brass Knuckles relies on heavy advertising and celebrity endorsements, not quality oil. You won’t find an ad for Roots, but their carts sell out in stores!
Stiiizy still has better hardware than Brass Knuckles
Brass Knuckles uses cartridge technology from a few years ago. It is a coiled cartridge with poor airflow. Stiiizy beats Brass Knuckles hands down when it comes to hardware, you will get better results with CCELL hardware anyway. Stiiizy’s hardware is made by ALD. They also make the vFire which has a similar heating core to Stiiizy.
It is easier to just buy and refill a vFire with good oil than buy a Stiiizy pod to just refill it later. However, if you already have Stiiizy hardware, see our page on how to refill a Stiiizy pod. Almost any other distillate or CO2 oil in any legal state will be stronger than Stiiizy’s oil.
Overall, Brass Knuckles is now the winner
Brass Knuckles is currently better than Stiiizy, but we would recommend other brands over either of them. Pretty much any random brand in a legit dispensary will be better than either of these. If you want something particularly great check out Airo Pro and Roots cartridges. See our complete Brass Knuckles review and Stiiizy review for more information.
With a sub-par product in their early beginnings, Kurvana now seeks redemption in a brand new cartridge. A new cartridge needs a new name and they call it the Kurvana ASCND. That’s short for ASCEND, a name which implies a trip to the top side of the clouds. Kurvana ASCND cartridges own the popular spotlight but are they as good as the hype suggests? Find out in DabConnection’s full review and see why it made our list for the best THC vape cartridges in CA.
Pros:
Super High-Potency
Pure, High-Quality Concentrate
Delicious True To Strain Flavor
Efficient CTEC Coil Heating System
Informative, Tamper-Proof Packaging
Cons:
High Price Tag
Plastic Mouthpiece & Tube
Recommendations:Â Kurvana ASCNDÂ comes close to perfection in a cartridge. One concern is the 510 threads, which did not smoothly fit our Vessel Battery. This could be a manufacturing defect. Kurvana uses a plastic tube and mouthpiece, which could warp if left in the heat.
Kurvana ASCNDÂ puts near-perfection into a cartridge
We already know that other Kurvana ASCND cartridges fit on the Vessel Battery, so we’re assuming this one has a threading defect. Our complaint about the plastic is valid but kind of nitpicking. Most people know not to leave their cartridge in a place hot enough to melt hard plastic anyway. It’s never good for the oil. This cartridge turned out better than the original, non-ASCND Kurvana cartridges we previously reviewed. See our video review below and keep reading on for the more in depth review.
Kurvana ASCND carts provide true flavor with their CTEC coil and perhaps the highest potency around. The number of puffs is right in line with any authentic CCELL cartridge, and the product is clean of pesticides. Cost does ascend along with this high-quality cartridge, the only real drawback we can find.
The Amnesia Haze cartridge leaves a splendid aftertaste of citrus, earth, and lemon
Kurvana claims the Amnesia Haze ASCND cartridge finishes with a taste of walnut. Lemon, citrus, and tones of earth come through most prominently with a well-balanced mix. You can definitely taste the walnut once those main flavors begin to fade. The purity of the Kurvana ASCND cartridge’s concentrate doesn’t affect the taste.
Kurvana ASCNDÂ carts lay claim to some of the most potent oils in the industry
All ASCND oils come from a single origin and are high cannabinoid extracts. In order to achieve the purest oils, Kurvana puts each batch through a 50-step extraction process. As a result of this purification process, Kurvana ASCND concentrates are incredibly potent. ASCND cartridges can reach up to 95% cannabinoidsdue to their proprietary process while keeping a true taste.
Lab testing occurs in-house and by 3rd party
Kurvana sets the standard for quality assurance in California derived concentrates. They are in compliance with Prop 64 regulations and provide batches for testing by a 3rd party. But here is where things get interesting. Kurvana also tests each and every batch of their own oil in-house.
As a company that strives to deliver only the purest of concentrates, it’s Kurvana’s own processes that demand the in-house testing. Now here’s where things get even better. Most labs test oil down to the parts per million, or perhaps per billion. Kurvana’s own laboratory tests each batch to the parts per trillion to ensure oil purity.
ASCND carts have a unique see-through mouthpiece but use plastic material
Kurvana goes with a clear solid plastic mouthpiece with the reed-shaped design. You can see right through it, watching the vapor trail through the thin straw-like center. Plastic, however, isn’t my favorite choice in material. It might be a picky point, but I prefer a glass tube. Using plastic for the mouthpiece isn’t as big a deal, as long as it’s thick and sturdy. Metal, ceramic and wooden mouthpieces have a more comfortable feel though.
With effects that set in so strong, it’s no surprise the THC level is that high. We can’t say Kurvana doesn’t warn us! Each cartridge of ASCND Amnesia Haze comes with a small percentage of CBD and nothing else. These levels of THC are a result of the highest quality flower as well as the Kurvana purification process.
Going the extra mile comes with a higher cost
When you consider all the effort Kurvana puts into the creation of each ASCND cartridge, it’s not surprising that the cost is high. This Kurvana ASCND Amnesia Haze cartridge is from Mankind dispensary in San Diego. A price tag of $42.00 for a .5-gram cartridge would normally turn my head away. With the Kurvana ASCND name on the box, things are a bit different.
No matter how close to perfect a cartridge is, $42.00 is a lot to spend for .5-grams. And a licensed dispensary will still add on more in taxes! Kurvana does so much to ensure the ASCND is pure, high-quality oil. From the selection of the crop to the final packaging (and everything in between), customers get a fantastic product. Sometimes extra is what it takes to get satisfaction.
You can see the Kurvana CTEC ceramic coil in the cartridge disassembly
Starting at the base, the Kurvana ASCND cartridge uses 510 threads that should fit your standard battery. Our cartridge has trouble fitting the Vessel, but it fits other batteries just fine. The contact point spins and comes out with a pry from a tiny flathead screwdriver. This reveals a small white plug that comes out with a tug of the finger.
You can see I had to burn the plastic trying to reach the inner metal draw tube. Once you break through the outer plastic tube, it’s easy to free up the metal draw tube. Using the inside edges on a pair of pliers and applying pressure to the drawtube where the break is will cause it to separate. This reveals the CTEC ceramic core that turns the oil into vapor.
You can see all the different components of the Kurvana ASCND cartridge in the image as well as in the video. Notice that unlike a standard CCELL cartridge, Kurvana’s proprietary CTEC system doesn’t use a cloth wrapper. Instead of placing a ceramic core inside a cloth, a ceramic coil rings the inside of the metal housing. The oil absorbs directly into the ceramic coil and is ready for vaporizing.
Below see our video breaking down the Kurvana ASCND vape cartridge.
Number of puffs is the same or better than most CCELL cartridges
We don’t have any drawbacks or anything spectacular to report about the number of puffs. Out of four cartridges from Mankind, Kurvana ASCND seems to vape at the same rate. At least for the most part. It vapes almost identical to the Platinum Vape Northern Lights and the Select Elite Mendo Breath. Jetty Extracts actually seems to vape faster than Kurvana ASCNDÂ cartridges.
An atmospheric conclusion
Journeys to the edge of space now come in a Kurvana ASCND cartridge. Though the cost seems fit for a NASA budget, quality experience is assured. The only improvements we can suggest are to the capsule itself. Glass in place of a plastic barrier would make a stronger cartridge, but that’s a minor issue. Superb taste, crazy potency, as well as an efficient design put Kurvana ASCND at the top of the chart.

Hempod CBD vape pods are made for use with CBD or cannabis oils such as distillate or CO2 oil. After reviewing the hempods CBD pods and breaking one apart, we have come to the conclusion that it is not a good quality product. They are made for use with Juul batteries but allow you to fill up essentially a remade Juul pod with their own materials.
UPDATE 6/19/2019:Â Hempod has discontinued the product we reviewed here. They now offer prefilled CBD pods that use CCELL hardware and we will be updating the review shortly.
Recommendations:Â Â Change the core of the atomizer to wickless, ceramic or quartz and this thing gets a lot of potential.
Design and Build Quality
The outside design and feel of the pod seems to be decent. The design fails when you actually rip the thing apart and you see that the inside is just a wicked atomizer. Similar to the Juul, it gives a very hard hit from the wick burning. We found after taking one apart after use that the wick did in fact seem to be burned.
The outside housing is actually built pretty decently. But when it comes down to the build quality of the internal atomizer, Hempods are very much lacking.
The quality of the actual heating element which is the most important part of a vape pod is just not so good. You are literally hitting off a wick. And that is the same technology we saw from 2014 and before.
Atomizer
The atomizer really disappoint. It does not really hit that well. And when you get a harsh, you know it’s from the wick burning. This is not the type of wick that I am used to having. I prefer to hit something off with a ceramic core like the current generation CCELL cartridges or the Stiizy pen but refilled with better oil.
They could have made this atomizer a lot better by having it hit off with a ceramic or quartz core. Anything besides hitting off a wick is typically going to be better at this point. The technology is really outdated and we hope in the future that the heating element portion of this atomizer is updated.
Efficiency
The Hempods are not that efficient because they leak. Even after minimal use you could see that leaking was occuring in the battery. I did not even use it a whole lot because honestly the taste is just not worth it and didn’t want to waste quality distillate on this type of pod.
Value here is really low.
Value is low because it’s just something that I wouldn’t buy at all again because of the heating element. Pretty much it comes down to atomizer quality and the quality justice is not here. Because of that the value’s rate is very low.
Concluding our Hempod review…
The Hempod just like the G Pen Gio needs one major upgrade, a better core. Currently the atomizer core it uses just does not deliver the quality that can be found on current generation CCELL Cartridges, Stiizy Pens, ALD VFire and other ceramic core atomizers. The Hempod for now is something I would skip and would not get again until they upgrade the atomizer type.
There’s a lot of hype about this product but here at DabConnection we don’t think it was up to the hype.

Perk your ears up and put this one down on your list of future acquisitions! When it comes to supplying a treat, Sunday Goods has got it going on with their THC vape cartridge! After vaping down a .5- gram cartridge of Sunday Goods Trainwreck, there aren’t many negatives to discuss. What really blasts the experience off is the flavor profile and intense effects of the Trainwreck concentrate. Read on to get all the goods about Sunday Goods and their Trainwreck .5-gram cartridge.
Pros:
Pure, Lab-Tested Concentrate
Immediate Intense Effects
Long Energetic Effect
Durable Cartridge
Informative Packaging w/Seal of Assurance
Cons:
Hi Price Tag
Recommendation:Â Make them a little bit cheaper, but might not be possible due to the high quality oil used.
The Sunday Goods cartridge offers pure, quality oil and a vibrant vaping experience
See our video review below. Keep reading on for the more in depth review.
Besides picking up the Sunday Goods, we also have the Heavy Hitters Malibu OG and the Honey Vape Green Crack. Don’t miss those reviews of cartridges also from MedMen. They will be up shortly.
Out of those three cartridges, the Sunday Goods and the Heavy Hitters stand out the most. The Trainwreck strain of the Sunday Goods cartridge delivers a phenomenal experience. As far as flavor and effect go, the Trainwreck easily takes the top spot.
Sunday Goods .5-gram carts come in an elegant little box that would make a perfect Christmas stocking stuffer. The cartridge itself is fancy with a ceramic reed style mouthpiece. A look at the heating element reveals a cloth wick, a design that’s usually inferior to a coil. In this instance, however, the cloth wick doesn’t hold Sunday Goods back much at all.
A delicious earthy mix of lemon-lime stays on your palate with the Sunday Goods Trainwreck
You Sativa lovers out there know what a good strain of Trainwreck can do. Chances are you also know that it isn’t always very easy to find. Wherever it is that Sunday Goods gets this Trainwreck, the growers know what they’re doing.
So many times when herb goes through the distillation process, it loses parts of its natural taste. You either can’t really place the strain at all or one flavor profile dominates the experience. Sunday Goods doesn’t lose any taste in their Trainwreck cartridge. One vape and you’ll taste that earthy wholeness along with bursts of lemon-lime!
A three-second lung bursting vape tells you this Trainwreck is potent!
Sunday Goods recommends a three-second draw when using their cartridge which is fair advice. You might like to go longer but start with a three-second puff just as an experiment. Hold it in a few seconds and you’ll feel the vapor push against your lungs while expanding.
I prefer longer puffs and I probably go over 5-seconds in the video. You can see that extended puffs aren’t necessary with these cartridges. Test it at different variations to get your right size puff, but you’ll definitely enjoy the effects. Maybe plan some activities then indulge. This Trainwreck will fill you with positive energy.
Hi-scores for both durability and presentation of the cartridge
Sunday Goods puts elegance into their packaging and the cartridges as well. Their bold company logo appears at the base just where the strong glass tube ends. Up top for the mouthpiece is also a bit of extra style. Instead of your usual metal or plastic piece, Sunday Goods opts for a hard ceramic design. Unless you smack these carts with excessive force in just the right spot, they aren’t likely to break.
Below is a video on the breakdown of the Sunday Goods cartridge.
Trainwreck carts by Sunday Goods contain 79.08% THC and no CBD
Informative packaging gives the percentages plus a few other helpful facts about the concentrate. This Trainwreck boasts a potent 79.08% THC with test verification by Cannalysis Labs. Verification includes testing for contaminants with a batch and manufacturing date as proof. Check any Sunday Goods cartridge before checkout for their fresh by date to ensure the highest quality experience.
As for potency, the concentrate feels like it’s higher than it’s near 80% THC content. Perhaps the intense effects are due to the expando quality of the oil. Maybe it’s just that the effects hit so suddenly. Either way, the carts’ vibrant euphoria along with a superb taste are the high points.
High value drives up the asking price
Because the Sunday Goods cartridge in this review comes from MedMen, a legit dispensary, sales and excise taxes also apply. You might do away with the sales tax by having your medical card, but $45.00 before tax is still expensive. Does that take away the value? It might for some but it doesn’t for us, and here’s why!
For one thing, it isn’t easy to find a Sunday Goods cartridge in most dispensaries. It’s also understandable for a company to charge more when they incur extra charges. They can only use growers who don’t use pesticides and they also have to pay for testing. Perhaps the packaging is bit extravagant but we do appreciate the tamper safe seal. It comes down to this. If pure high-quality oil is a priority, you may have to go to a legit dispensary.
Sunday Goods cartridge disassembly
An examination of the cartridge’s inner workings reveals the wick and wire heating system, a design I’m not very fond of. I do have to say, however, that in this instance the cloth wick is not a drawback. The cartridge allows a constant fluid draw which is sometimes an issue in this design.
I feel like the incredible quality of the Trainwreck oil makes the cloth wick design more than adequate. A coil and rod would supply a bigger hit, but the cartridge would be gone before you know it.
In the image showing the cartridge breakdown, you can see some of the points I talk about. For a mouthpiece, the cart uses a ceramic reed style and it does screw right off. Refill and reuse these carts if you so desire! Thick glass forms the outer tube and a metal draw tube descends down to the element housing.
Inside the element’s housing is a tightly wrapped cloth which absorbs the oil. Gravity does its work so that the oil sits near the bottom wires, ready for ignition til empty. Proper design at the base of the draw tube leaves plenty of room for absorption. No trace amounts of oil are left behind at the end. Finally, you’ll find the cart ends with 510 threading to fit your standard battery size.
Sunday Goods claims 125 servings in their .5-gram cartridge
Obviously, this isn’t an exact science but it definitely offers a nice point of reference. According to the back of the package, it states:
“For a proper feel-good experience, take a short draw to prime cartridge before attaching to battery. We recommend a three-second draw from the mouthpiece for a single serving. This cartridge contains 125 servings”.
Pretty cool, huh? Of course, if you hit the cartridge super hard for three-seconds it probably won’t have 125 servings. A coil heating element would almost certainly not give that many servings. Go for six or seven seconds on your draw and you’ll feel like a trainwreck hit you.
End of the line on the Sunday Goods cartridge review
For a potent and flavor concentrate, make sure to keep an eye out for this Trainwreck cartridge. The only drawback we can find is in the heating system, and it isn’t really a drawback at all. In fact, many connoisseurs prefer a short controlled draw over a lung-bursting vape. Ideally, you have the option of either or. We highly recommend the Sunday Goods Trainwreck cartridge for those who can splurge on quality. It doesn’t fall too short of perfection. For now you can find more information on Sunday Goods products on WeedMaps. It appears the Sunday Goods website is partially down.
Cannavative is a cannabis company located in Northern Nevada. Here, we will review their shatterconcentrate particularly the MTF strain. Overall, they put out the best shatter I have ever tried after trying different types in 3 states. For this review I used the Vivant DaBox and also mixed it in with joints.
Cannavative is a the top of the game when it comes to shatter
Cannavative’s MTF shatter turned out to be so far the best shatter I have ever tried and I’ve tried different kinds from all over California, Colorado, and Nevada. Cannavative products are only available in Nevada at the current time. Hoping to see them pop into California and other states when legalization goes full scale. The only shatter I have come close to this level of quality has been from Moxie and for that I tried the California versions. Even though it was on par with strength, it felt like the Cannavative was of higher quality on other points.
Extract Quality was best of best
You can clearly see the quality of the Cannavative shatter just by looking at it. It has excellent color. It is completely stable. Most people like stable shatter which is crisp and hard like candy over unstable which gets all sticky. This is the highest quality shatter I have ever seen.
Strength was excellent, better than other shatters with higher THC %
Don’t let the THC percentage fool you. I have tried much stronger shatters including an 82% from Kabunky. This Cannavative overall still felt much stronger when you hit it. It was really top notch in strength even though there are stronger things out there. I would say one type of extract I found that’s close to this on strength is Moxie’s Cake Batter.
Effects were as stated, truly a euphoric, energetic concentrate
There was a great amount of energy with this shatter and it did not make me feel sleepy. I really like the effects and found it to be very pleasant overall. It did not feel “cracky” at all. I have never felt such “clean energy” from hitting shatter out of a wax pen.
An overall clear headed feeling went with the Cannavative shatter.
Taste was top notch
Best tasting shatter I have ever tried. Extremely impressed on taste here. Of course, given it’s from Nevada, there’s not going to be butane taste present. The shatter is very clean. It looks like it would taste good and it tastes just like it looks.
Smoothness, even on a sub-par wax pen
Again not only it is the best tasting, probably one of the smoothest shatters I’ve ever tried as well. I am not sure what they are doing to get it this smooth but I actually hit this using the DaBox dab pen which is usually pretty rough. And this shatter still came out with a nice smooth hit.Â
I also threw it in some joints and those joints burned pretty smooth. No extra harshness from the shatter.
Value was great especially considering strength
Cannavative shatter was not cheap. I believe it was $40 for a half gram. However, this is on par with all other extracts that are in Nevada, save the occasional special. Luckily, prices have been coming down lately on a lot of extracts in NV. I would say the value here is really good. Considering the quality, taste and smoothness are all on point. I feel like I don’t have to hit nearly as much of this shatter to get the same effect which in the end really adds to value as well.
Concluding our Cannavative review…
In conclusion, Cannavative’s MTF Shatter is the best shatter I’ve ever tried at this point.I look forward to trying the rest of their products. And if I do see their shatter on the shelf again, definitely something I’ll be getting!
You can learn more information about Cannavative extracts on their website here.

The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 by NY Vape Shop is now it’s second revision. It turned out to be a reliable battery that works with a variety of cartridges. After reviewing the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 for over a month, it will be one of my go to batteries for vape cartridges.
Pros:
Works with a variety of cartridges
3 voltage settings
Includes wax attachment
Cons:
No charging indicator light
Wax atomizer may have solder
No warranty
Recommendations:Â Make a longer magnetic adapter so it hits better on CCELL cartridges.
UPDATE 8/27/19:
We received a comment regarding Steamcloud about their warranty process. It turns out that their warranty isn’t as extensive as other companies, which became an issue after a Steamcloud device ceased functioning a week after purchase. We have reached out to Steamcould and they have claimed that they are changing the warranty. But as of now, this situation does decrease their value score.
“Warranty Disclaimer This website and the materials and products on this website are provided “as is” and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permissible pursuant to applicable law, SteamCloudVapes.com disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including, but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.”
SteamCloud Mini proved to be a versatile vape battery
I tried the first SteamCloud Mini and now it is in it’s second revision. It does seem to hit a bit harder than the first one, but other than that they appear the same. Having a button push on the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 makes it a versatile battery. It’s able to hit a good variety of cartridges, but it will not hit Rove style carts.
See the video review of the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 below. Keep reading on for the more in depth review.
SteamCloud Mini vs SteamCloud Mini 2.0
I before used the original SteamCloud Mini. The difference between the original and 2.0 is adjustable voltage.
The original only had one setting, while the new one has three. This is a great addition as it gives you more customization and helps hit a wide range of cartridges better.
Â
Design was pretty basic and comparable to other batteriesÂ
The design on the SteamCloud Mini is pretty standard. It’s a small battery that fits CCELLs and most standard size cartridges. It comes with a magnetic adapter, and here is one thing I found that can be improved. Using CCELL carts, the SteamCloud Mini works better using a longer adapter than it came with. I used the mid size adapter from the PCKT One and got better results than using the standard adapter. The airflow improved.
Â
The design flaw on the SteamCloud Mini that was most prevalent was when the battery dies. There’s no sign that the battery is low or about to die, it just dies off and you have no power. I also found that using a small extended adapter from another vape battery gave better hits on CCELL carts. Below is a picture of how much longer the cartridge looks using that adapter.
The placement higher of the bottom airflow CCELLs made for a slightly better hit.
The wax atomizer had a decent design and it’s very discreet
This vape cartridge battery comes with a discreet wax atomizer as well. The tank is designed in the shape of an oil tank.
This atomizer hit harder than expected. Fairly efficient and hard hitting, it was a nice add on to the SteamCloud package. The mouthpiece had a screen on it that keeps any wax from going up into your mouth.
Build Quality on the SteamCloud Mini was decent
I used the SteamCloud Mini for a couple months before writing this review, which gave me a good feel for the build quality. It did not have any issues build quality wise, but it did not feel as solid as the PCKT One. It hits better though, which is more important.
The wax atomizer that comes with the battery had OK build quality. It hit decent, but it appears there are some solder marks on the coil.
Battery Life was not so great, but it’s easy to charge
The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 did not have a long battery life, nor did the original SteamCloud Mini. There were a couple frustrating moments where the battery did die unexpectedly. It reminds me of a cell phone, you should charge it whenever you are by a charger. I felt like I was getting maybe 1/3 to 1/2 through a half gram THC cartridge before the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 would die.
Â
Charging was simple as it charges with a Micro USB cable. Speed of charging was average and comparable with other small sized vape batteries. A plus on the charging side is that you can stand the battery straight up while it is charging. Something you cannot do on the CCELL Palm and Silo. This allows the oil to stay in the bottom of the cartridge rather than going sideways. You do not have to wait for it to go to the bottom to hit it again once your charge is complete.
Hits were stronger than before, but still not as strong as CCELL batteries on CCELL carts
The great thing about the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 is it will hit a multitude of cartridges well. CCELL carts are found on Select Oil and Roots Extracts cartridges. CCELL carts do hit better on CCELL batteries. Still, the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 hits better on CCELL carts than most other non-CCELL batteries, including the PCKT One. If you are looking for one battery to hit many carts, the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 is a good option. If you are mostly hitting CCELL carts, then the Palm or Silo is a better choice.
Pricing is much better with a coupon
The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 is pretty expensive at the current price, but their is a wax attachment in there that does add some value. Update 2/2/19: NY Vape Shop gave us the coupon DABCONNECTION15 that take’s 15% off and improves the value. This is a non-affiliate code and just here to save you money since initially it was rated as not a great value. This improves the value substantially. This brings the regular price of $39.99 down to $33.99. Comparatively, the CCELL Palm and Silo are only $25. They do not however have adjustable settings. They do hit better on CCELL carts though and that is the most used cartridge out there. The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 includes the wax attachment so it is not a bad value overall.
Overall our SteamCloud Mini 2.0 review revealed a good battery
The SteamCloud Mini 2.0 did not fail to deliver and worked with a wide variety of THC cartridges. For someone looking for one battery that works with most carts this is a simple solution. You can get the SteamCloud Mini 2.0 at NY Vape Shop.
The Bud Tank V16 is the a cartridge oil pen system sold by Bud Tank. This comes as an empty cartridge system that you fill with your own oil whether it would be THC distillate, CO2 oil or CBD oil. The battery is not made for other types of cartridges but with a minor adjustment, we will show later below it works with CCELLÂ and other cartridges extremely well too. The only downside we found on this pen is the price per cartridge. It’s a little bit expensive to replace the cartridges at $9 per cartridge and not being able to refill it.
Pros:
Battery hits hard with Bud Tank and other cartridges
Cartridge can be locked for long term storage without leakage
High-quality atomizer
Strong hits
Easy to fill, no syringe tip needed
Cons:
Atomizers can only be used once
Individual atomizers are expensive
No micro USB charging
Recommendations:Â Make the atomizer reusable and a little bit cheaper. Add micro USB or USB-C charging.
Watch below our video review that goes over the basics of the Bud Tank V16. Keep reading to see our more in-depth review of the oil pen system.
The Bud Tank V16 turned out to be a really excellent quality product overall
The atomizer core is ceramic and you can tell it by the taste. There’s no burning taste. All the oils are used efficiently from start to end. Just holding the Bud Tank V16 with battery and atomizer together in your hand, you can feel the quality of this build. The ceramic mouth tip is really nice. Airflow is great. Really the only downsides are you cannot reload it after one use and the price, but that may also be lower in the future. On top of that, the battery really works well with CCELL and other cartridges. Almost on par with the Palm and Silo batteries.
There are a some extra instructions for the V16
A couple of features on the V16 go above and beyond your regular cartridge system. Below are the extra instructions on using it.
Lock and Unlock Mechanism of Atomizer
The first thing you’ll notice is there is a lock and unlock symbol printed on the side of the cartridge. You put the cartridge in the lock position when you’re not gonna be hitting it for a while and letting it sit. If you look closely you can see that this actually locks close the area that absorbs the oil. This is a great solution to keep cartridges from leaking. However, unless left sideways for a really long time I have yet to let a CCELL cartridge leak either. But, some brands do have leaking issues such as the Hempod pod.
Bud Tank V16 Battery with Sesh Mode Setting
The other thing about the V16 which I really didn’t realize until after some of my oil was gone is that it also has a Sesh Mode. This Sesh Mode keeps the battery on for a set amount of time. However, be warned! Do not leave the Sesh Mode on when you are using a different type of atomizer besides the ones that come with the V16.
I accidentally was clicking sesh mode on and I thought the tank was getting stuck. Well, it got stuck. I didn’t know I had to turn it off right away and it ended up burning my oil in a CCELL cartridge. Good thing it was already close towards the end because it left a burning taste for sure on the oil and the oil even changed color a little bit. Make sure that you only use the sesh mode with the V16 atomizer. We’ll be trying that again later and updating this review further with that as well.
Hit strength is really excellent with V16
Really on par with the best. The Bud Tank V16 cartridge and battery really go well together. It really hits strong. This is the first cartridge that I put on par with CCELL as far as being as strong and smooth with no scratchiness in your throat at all. You can really tell when you hit it that the build quality on the atomizer is good. You do not get that weird metallic like taste that you get when you hit the Brass Knuckles cartridges. At this point, this is on par with CCELL and top quality atomizers out there.
Efficiency was really great
Efficiency was on par with the best on the Bud Tank V16 atomizers. There were no issues with efficiency at all. Efficiency was perfect until the very end of the oil. There seemed that there’s nothing lost here. And this seems as efficient as any oil cartridge there is at this point. There are just coming out some atomizers that oil drips down into the holes, but at this point the V16 is at the peak of available efficiency.
The Bud Tank V16 is really discreet and portable
It uses a standard style stick battery but this does not just put out like regular clouds. There really is something better about this battery than other stick batteries I have tried that makes it put out a harder hit. It also pairs perfectly with the atomizer as will be expected.
How to use the Bud Tank V16 battery with other cartridges
The Bud Tank V16 can be used with other cartridges including CCELL. As long as they’re 510 threaded and voltages are close enough.
Here’s what you need to do though because airflow doesn’t always work:
Slightly unscrew the cartridge by about a half turn from the battery. This gives the airlfow the battery it needs. The battery does not have airhole slits in it to work properly with other cartridges. However, this fixes it because you’re still getting enough contact and just letting in enough air to get a hit. You’ll be surprised how great this hits on other cartridges. Just make sure you leave the sesh mode off for non-Bud Tank carts.
Taste is excellent due to the ceramic core and quality hardware
Taste on V16 is pretty much close to perfect as you will get on an oil pen setup. It tasted exactly the same as a CCELL setup, but here is one thing to keep in mind on taste. Don’t use this battery and hit other types of cartridges too hard because you may burn other cartridge’s cotton area and burn oil then you’ll be low on taste. That’s not Bud Tank’s fault because this setup is made to be used together with their cartridge. When Bud Tank is paired together everything seems to work perfectly. The problem is you won’t find cartridges out there from Bud Tank just yet that are pre-filled.
Bud Tank V16 replacement cartridges are expensive and not refillable
The price per cartridge is $9 compared to CCELL cartridges at around $5 which makes V16 considerably more expensive. However, the quality is really good but it is hard to say whether or not it is worth the extra money. It’s worth trying out something else different and it is possible the price may be lower in the future. Not being able to refill the V16 also makes it more expensive. Most people will use their cartridge 2-3 times before it is considered done.
Comparing the Bud Tank V16 to other cartridge systems
I would put the Bud Tank 16 on par with CCELL cartridges. Specifically, I would put it on par with the ones I have with the ceramic tip which I think are the best. Pretty much Bud Tank V16 at this point is one of the best oil pen systems I’ve ever tried. Comparing it to Stiizy pen, it blows it away, even when you’re filling Stiiizy with good oil. Having the same quality oil with each one, this is a much better set up and gives much stronger hits. This battery on the max setting can give even a little bit stronger hits than the CCELL setup on a CCELL cartridge, but don’t hit it too hard as you might get some burn.
Comparing it to the G Pen Gio or Pax Era, it completely blows them away, not even close.
Concluding our Bud Tank V16 review…
Overall the Bud Tank V16 outputs very large hits. It has excellent taste and uses very high-quality hardware. The only downside here is the cost of replacement cartridges and that you cannot refill it.
The other great thing about Bud Tank V16 is the battery works with other cartridges. You have to screw it on a little bit lighter to get that to work right but it does hit them pretty hard. Make sure you don’t leave sesh mode on with another type of cartridge as you might burn it up.
We will definitely be using the Bud Tank V16 again. This would be a great setup to see available in the stores already prefilled, especially considering the fact they can lock it out. The carts can be in storage for a long time without any negative effects. The only downside we see here is price. The cost is more than CCELL cartridges and you cannot refill it. In performance though it does push out a bit harder hits.

Roots Extracts: Some of the best THC cartridges in Nevada
Roots is the core consumer brand of Taproot. DabConnection finds Roots extracts cartridges to be really excellent after testing a large variety of them. In fact, they were given high scores in our growing list of THC Vape Carts Reviews. The oil is of high quality and performance is top notch since they use CCELL hardware.

The Juice Co cartridge pairs good quality oil with great hardware. Overall, after doing this review The Juice Co is something I would try again. But at the current level of strength, it is definitely behind other brands available in Nevada such as Roots Extracts, Airo Pro and Select Oil. I will say however, The Juice Co is ahead of the heavily advertised Brass Knuckles brand.
Update 3/21/2019: The Juice Co has significantly increased the strength of their carts. This review was done prior to their strength increase and we will update it after trying the new blends. They now have many carts over 80% THC.
Pros:
Top Quality Hardware
Excellent Taste
Very Clean Feeling
Energetic
Cons:
Could Be Stronger
Recommendations: Make something with a higher THC percentage or somehow make it in general stronger than what it is now. Increase the strength. Recently they increased strength, prior to this review. Gj Juice Co!

The Juice Co cartridge turned out to be of good quality, but lacked strength
The Juice Co vape cartridge has its strengths and weaknesses. Increase the strength and it is good to go. Everything else about the cart is stop notch. Hardware, taste, and consistency were all there, just strength is lacking. The strain tested here was Clementine, a Sativa, and was the strongest one available at Essence Tropicana West, coming in at 76.4% THC.
See our video review of The Juice Co cartridge below. Keep reading on for the more in depth review:
Design and Build Quality: The Juice Co uses CCELL cartridge
The Juico Co uses my favorite version of the CCELL cartridge which is the newest generation CCELL with a ceramic tip. This enables you to refill the cartridge again later eventhough it may not be officially recommended.
At this point, CCELL’s current generation cartridge is the most reliable hardware that produces the best hit. It is highly recommended also to use it with a CCELL battery. CCELL cartridge and the battery just pair well together and seem to produce better vapor than pairing it with a box mod or other type of battery. The two CCELL batteries that we recommend are the CCELL Palm and Silo.
Oil Quality: The Juice Co vaped very smoothly.
You can tell that the oil here used is of high quality. Very consistent looking, no discoloration and it vaped very smoothly throughout the whole entire time.
Strength: THC percentage needs to increase.
Strength of The Juico Co THC cartridge could be a little bit stronger. I had to hit it at about ten times to really get a good effect. Whereas the Roots cartridge, I could probably hit about five times. Effectively, it would cost a lot more with The Juice Co vape cartridge to get the same medicated effect as with Roots or Airo Pro cartridge. I can take way less hits on the other cartridges that cost roughly about the same and I get more of an effect.
Taste: The Juice Co gives perfectly balanced taste.
Taste was stellar on The Juice Co cartridge. It was perfectly balanced and taste did not change throughout the cartridge. They really got their terpenes down here and they know what they’re doing on taste. We just need to add in the strength to make this an overall better and well rounded cartridge.
Efficiency is top notch with new gen CCELL cart
The cartridge is perfectly efficient. Using the latest CCELL pretty much ensures efficiency is gonna be good. You look at the cartridge when it’s over, there really is no oil left.
Number of Puffs was decent
Number of puffs was decent. The oil did seem to burn a little bit faster than some of the other thicker distillates that I have had in the past. For example, when I fill a cartridge using one of AMA’s oils, it does seem to last longer.
Also, more puffs are needed to get the same effect on this cartridge as compared to some of the other stronger brands.
Value is there for people wanting the weaker cart
Value is not that great for someone looking for strong THC carts. This is a perfect vape cartridge for somebody that wants something that is not extremely overpowering. There are a lot of people out there that prefer these lighter cartridges so don’t get swayed just by our opinion here. Here at DabConnection we’re looking for the absolute strongest cartridges, most of the people that read here are too.
However, I have to dock the value a little bit here because I really could just take much less hits on a Roots or another brand and I would get the same effect. So effectively since I have to hit it twice as much, I’m really getting about half the value of other top brands’ cartridges. That is why the value score here is a little bit lower than we expected.
Concluding our review of The Juice Co cart
In conclusion, The Juice Co has all the points down except for being high on strength. That is something very important to us here. For the time being, until I see a much higher THC percentage printed on the box, I probably would not try another Juice Co cartridge. Once I see it though, definitely a brand worth giving a second shot.

The main reasons Essence Tropicana West is the best dispensary in Las Vegas are prices and selection. From random deals on cartridges to heavily discounted Desert Grown Farms ounces, this pick comes from going to many a dispensary in the area and searching many menus. It’s located at 5765 W Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103 and it’s open from 10AM to 3AM daily.
Pros:Â
Great Selection
Great Deals
10% Locals discount
3% Cash back
Fast service
Great staff
Easy parking
Cons:
Far to go to if you are in the northern part of town
Check out the video review below, and continue reading for the more in depth review of Essence Tropicana West.
Essence Tropicana West: Best on selection, best on most prices, great deals
The only dispensaries to come close are NuWu and the other Essence location on the strip. Essence Tropicana West pulls ahead of the Strip location because it has Cannabiotix, while the one on the Strip does not due to some licensing issue Cannabiotix has. It has something to do with that area not actually being the City of Las Vegas, but a town called Paradise.
NuWu has had some lower prices on a couple items, ie: Cannabiotix cartridges. I have to say though that is a product I would not be buying again. Cannabiotix is one of the world’s best cultivators, but they came up short on THC vape cartridges. When you add medical (10%) and local (10%) discount, and cash back, Essence is cheaper across the board on most things. Most of the carts we named the best cartridges of Nevada are available at Essence West Trop.
Desert Grown Farms sweetens the deal
The house brand for Essence is Desert Grown Farms (DGF). Even if not an official house brand, the same guy runs both of them. DGF has a lot of good buds and I picked up Hendo Breath below at Essence Tropicana West.
I would put them just a hair behind my other favorite flowers in Nevada.
Nevada’s best extracts, cartridge and flower brands
So far the best shatter brand in Nevada we have tried is Cannavative. The best distillate syringes so far are from AMA, who also makes Vader Extracts Nevada that is equally top notch. Try Coconutz if you see it. For pre filled cartridges in NV, Roots Extracts and Airo Pro are our top picks tied for first, with Select Oil cartrides coming in second.
Remedy, Greenway Las Vegas, Virtue and Cannabiotix. DGF has some crazy deals at Essence. At the end of 2018 I picked up a full ounce of Hendo Cream for $120. A sativa that is 24% THC and costs normally $341.
Free credit on everything of 3% that works at all Essence locations, locals discount 10%
Most dispensaries in Las Vegas offer some type of locals discount. Essence Tropicana West has 10% locals discount that stays in there system even if you go to one of their Strip and Henderson locations. They also have the standard 10% medical discount. For those of you new to Nevada dispensaries, there is a priority line for medical and lower taxes.
Cash back on everything adds up. You can use it the next time you are there with no minimum. Buy $100 worth of items and come back and you got a $3 credit.
Some sample deals from Essence Tropicana West: Buy one get one for 1c Select Oil cartridges, $15 City Trees Disposable THC vapes
Another great deal was buy one Select Oil cartridge and get another one for 1c. Effectively $25 per cart, can’t go wrong at that price. I have yet to see Select Oil carts that cheap anywhere, even in California.
The City Trees Disposable sale from Essence Tropicana West was awesome as well. $15 for a half gram disposable. At Deep Roots Mesquite, the same exact item goes for $65. Picked up a Bliss and Energy, both were good.
Excellent, knowledgeable staff at Essence West Trop
The staff here is friendly and fast. Getting checked in is always quick. The budtenders know the brands and products well. Just ask what’s the best right now of Sativa or Indica and you get led in the right direction.
Be wary of dispensaries right off the strip, except Essence on the Strip
Stop into Pisos or Las Vegas Releaf and you may get quite a price shock. The price difference between those places and Essence is huge. Most of NV, including Essence, has more expensive cannabis products than California due to stricter regulations. The guarantee of no pesticides is worth it though and everything is top notch quality. A Brass Knuckles cartridge at Pisos was $120 plus tax for medical users. It’s $85 at Essence on West Tropicana. If you must go on the strip, check out Essence on the Strip.
In conclusion… at this point Essence Tropicana West is our pick for best dispensary in Las Vegas, Nevada. The deals, cash back, fast service, great staff, and great selection are what make it the best. Once we cover the rest of Nevada we’ll pick the best in the state. A few more cities to go. So far out of all the dispensaries Reno, Tahoe, Mesquite, Las Vegas, and Laughlin, Essence on West Tropicana is the best. See more information on Essence Tropicana West here.
What do you think is the best dispensary in Las Vegas? Have you been to Essence on West Trop and if so how did you like it? Comment below or post in our forum!
It’s unfortunate, really, that verified lab tests reveal the existence of pesticides in the THClear cartridge. Yea, it is a bummer when this happens with a favorable product. One both tasty and powerful like the distillate that THClear produces. Hopefully, they clear their name from these dirty tests in the near future. Gobble up all the goods about THClear cartridges in our full review. If you are looking for something better, check out our post on the best cartridges in California.
Pros:
Good Flavor
Powerful Effect
Strong, Sturdy Cartridge
Value Pricing
Cons:
Tests Positive For Pesticides
Clogs, Uneven Draw
Sub-Par Heating System
Fail on pesticides, but the THClear cartridge scores high in most other areas!
If THClear would get rid of those pesticides, their cartridges would come with good recommendations. After testing the King Louie XIII OG, we have mostly good remarks about the overall experience. Take a look at our video review below. Then continue reading for the more in-depth review.
The cartridges themselves are durable, though they don’t provide an easy draw. You have to get a good amount of suction for a decent vape. This is one of the few other points of concern. Besides that, the oil doesn’t vape up too quick and has great flavor. The effects are strong at 77.50% THC and set in immediately.
Update 01/16/2019 – THClear Skywalker OG – Geoff
Those good remarks about the King Louie cartridge refer mostly to the flavor and potency of the oil. After trying the THClear Skywalker OG in the exact same .5 gram style cartridge, I find it rather disappointing. My neighbor, however, likes the flavor a lot. To each his own, I suppose.
The King Louie XIII OG THClear cartridge has a strong pine flavor that lasts in your mouth.
Along with a rich earthy aftertaste, that pine flavor is a main characteristic of the King Louie XIII strain. With the THClear cartridge, you’ll taste that pine! It is direct, prominent, and doesn’t leave the mouth for several seconds after the vape. We do taste hints of that earthiness, but the pine definitely stands out above it.
Geoff –Â That almost winter fresh flavor of pine that appears in the King Louie also shows up in the Skywalker OG cartridge. It’s not quite as prominent and a spicy flavor is one of the characteristics of the Skywalker strain. Still, it gets me to thinking. The dabs from dispensaries of THClear also have that flavor. Perhaps it’s a quality of the distillate itself. THClear Skywalker OG doesn’t have an unenjoyable flavor, but it misses the accuracy of the strain.
The effects are intense & set in quite suddenly!
There are cartridges out there like the Brass Knuckles, for instance, that have a higher concentration of THC. We do believe the Brass Knuckles Jack Herer is stronger, but the THClear cartridge doesn’t disappoint. At least we can say the King Louie XIII doesn’t. Euphoria sets in with rapid intensity for a deep, decent lasting stone.
Geoff –Â Again, I’m not as happy with the potency of the Skywalker OG up against the King Louie XIII. It does have more of deep, relaxing effect which matches the strain description. Still. it would be nice if the cartridge gave off a deeper vape. The issue seems like a combination of poor cartridge construction and the oil itself.
THClear uses durable but cheap cartridges. They don’t provide a fluid draw.
Just handling a THClear cartridge, you can tell that they are sturdy enough to do the job. Any banging around on your pen or while in your pocket won’t be an issue. You can also tell that THClear skimps a bit, at least on the cartridge material.
For instance, the mouthpiece is the slim design that fits in the mouth like a reed. It’s only comfortable in two positions, unlike a round design that works in any direction. The mouthpiece is made of plastic, though still durable. Like the mouthpiece, the outer tube is also a durable plastic instead of glass. The inner tube is metal.
Because the THClear cartridge is durable, the cheaper plastic parts aren’t much of an issue. The problem we find is the inconsistency of the draw when vaping the cartridge. It doesn’t stick all the way. but kind of sputters.
As our battery dies down, we find that the sputtering increases and the unit becomes difficult to hit. This is likely a result of the heating system which we discuss in more detail below.
Geoff –Â The Skywalker OG uses the exact same cartridge style with the same issues.
THClear claims 77.5% THC & 0.24% CBD in their King Louie XIII cartridge.
Like so many other companies, THClear cartridges list the levels of THC on their packaging. They also list the levels of CBD, something not as many other cartridges do. What we would like to see, however, is a pesticide-free statement with proof of lab results. This info is nowhere on the packaging so let’s take a look at independent results.
Looking at the independent testing done by SCLabs, results show a THC level around 50%. Now we don’t know exactly which strain it is, but 50% falls far short of the 77.5% our THClear cartridge claims. CBD percentage is actually higher in the test. It shows 0.59% versus the 0.24% on our package.
Geoff –Â According to the Skywalker packaging, the THC content is 81.7%. From my impression when vaping the entire cartridge, it doesn’t seem that potent. THClear also states a 0.19% concentration of CBD on the Skywalker package.
Flavor to strain accuracy is true, but it’s unbalanced.Â
Another aspect of distillate we like to weigh is how true the taste is to the original flower. As we stated above, the THClear cartridge (at least the King Louie XIII) does carry the main flavors of the strain. Pine, however, is in overwhelming abundance and almost hides the earthy tones. This isn’t to say the flavor is not enjoyable. We think it is. It just doesn’t have a good balance in comparison.
Geoff –Â As far as accuracy in flavor to strain, the Skywalker cart has a decent balance. A blend of the herbal aroma and spicy sweetness comes through, but you still get that wintergreen aftertaste. I’m intersted in finding out if all the THClear oils have that same taste.
THClear cartridge prices fall in the mid to low range.
We were able to acquire the King Louie XIII THClear cartridge from a dispensary in Vista, CA. The asking price is $25.00 for the 1/2 gram unit. If THClear does get rid of the pesticides, this would be a value mid-range price. It might even be a low-range price in certain areas. For most locales in California, $20.00 or under would qualify as low range pricing.
Geoff –Â The THClear Skywalker OG cart cost the same as the King Louie XIII, $25.00.
We’ll begin by sharing that the plastic mouthpiece does come off, making the cartridge refillable. It’s actually the whole top piece that unscrews from the inner metal tube. You could easily take a syringe and fill it back up if you so desired. After removing the top piece, the plastic tube pulls off with a firm tug.
This leaves us with the 510 threads of the bottom attachment, surrounding bushing (which houses the heating element), and the inner metal tube. In the image, you can see the disassembly of the heating system.
There is a coil that wraps around the inside of the base and hooks in at two points. This coil doesn’t contain a rod but rather heats up a ceramic-like core. As you can see in the picture, this core is crumbled into pieces and next to it is the unraveled cloth wick. The wick surrounds the core when the piece is fully functional.
This heating system does do the job, especially with a fully charged or high powered battery. As far as the sputtering that occurs on the inhale, this may be because the oil has to soak in. It has to soak into the wick first, then into the porous core material.
Geoff –Â The THClear Skywalker OG .5g cartridge uses the exact same design as the King Louie XIII.
The cartridge is efficient & the oil lasts a while.Â
Our findings reveal that the THClear cartridge keeps its oil well. It doesn’t vape right up like our experience with the disposable VVS pen. This is most likely due in part to the consistency of the oil as well as the slow absorption of the heating system.
Geoff –Â A long-lasting cartridge continues to be a strong suit for THClear, although I do wonder if results would be the same with a better cartridge design. Either way, you’ll get more puffs than you might expect from this .5g cart.
Big hits are tough but possible.
Use the THClear cartridge with a higher power battery and it should hit just fine. We are using the LoKey battery with a 350 mah power source and it works well when fully charged. After using about half the battery life, it isn’t as easy to get a full hit. Be sure to check out the video to see our demonstration.
Geoff –Â In the big puff category, the Skywalker OG scores worse than the King Louie. You really have to draw down hard and long to get a full vape. It’s not that the King Louie didn’t also have this issue, it just gave a better vape cloud in return.
Rounding up the THClear cartridge review.
As we bring this review of the THClear cartridge to a close, let’s go over the biggest talking points. Our main point of concern is the fact that pesticides appear in the lab test. We see that THClear currently has a website under construction. Hopefully, they get this issue straightened out. The remaining drawbacks of the cartridge make it a less than perfect product. Still, the enjoyable flavor and euphoria make the cartridge attractive. Especially if you can find them in the very low price range. You can find THClear cartridges near you on their locations page.
Geoff –Â After vaping the THClear Skywalker OG cartridge, my original assessment doesn’t change a bit. If anything, the overall score drops a few points. Cartridge design is likely the culprit for a less than appealing experience. Pesticides in the lab results really throw off any chance of a positive recommendation.

Most wax is made by extracting THC through a solvent means, such as BHO, then whipping (stirring) the resulting extract into a creamy consistency before extracting the butane. Note that butane is highly flammable and requires a trained professional to work with, so doing your own butane extraction at home is illegal even in legalized states, and can lead to disastrous results at any rate.
Marijuana delivery services distribute marijuana to medical marijuana patients. They are similar to most other delivery services because driver simply delivers and drops off medical marijuana to patients.
They are popular in cities that ban dispensaries. Some cities in California ban marijuana dispensaries, for example. As a result, marijuana delivery services deliver medical marijuana to patients in these cities.
Beware Scam Websites!
In the past year, we at DabConnection have been finding an increasing number of scam websites which take customers’ payments and then don’t deliver. We have reported on some of those here and here. Services like Scam.directory have worked to expose these sites, but hundreds pop up every day.
To properly screen a delivery service, try the following:
Find them through a reputable directory. Right now, our closest nomination for that is Leafly.
Check the site with Scam.Directory to see if it’s been reported.
Check the licensing bureau relevant to your state, for the license status of that business.
Never try delivery in an illegal state.
Be aware that not all legalized states allow delivery yet.
Beware of any service requiring you to pay online through means not easily recomped, such as Bitcoin.
No business may send cannabis products through shipment – not USPS, UPS, or FedEX. This holds true as long as cannabis is still prohibited at the federal level.
BHO or ‘Butane Hash Oil’ is a concentrated cannabis extract. It is made by pushing liquid butane through a tube packed with weed. The result is a potent wax, oil, or honey.
BHO stands for Butane Hash Oil
It is also sometimes called “Butane Honey Oil.” The reasoning works like this: Cannabis has trichomes, hairy projections on the outside of the flower, in which a good deal of the concentrated THC, CBD, and other compounds we want is contained. So they stuff bud into a tube, pipe butane through it, and use that as a rinse so those compounds away from the flower and into the butane mixture. They then take the butane mixture which contains the oil from the cannabis, and purge the butane out of it using vacuum technology, leaving the cannabis extract.
Here is a lightweight Vice overview on the subject:
EVERYTHING you’ve heard about the dangers of BHO extraction is true!
Do not try this at home! The issue is that butane, even though it makes the ideal solvent for blasting through weed, is chemically unstable, highly flammable, and volatile to work with. Butane is literally the liquid they use in cigarette lighters, it’s that ideally flammable. A single spark in the same room with a bowl of butane can cause an explosion. Somebody flips on the light switch, boom.
BHO extraction needs to be done by trained, practiced professionals who know what they’re doing. Even the pros goof up sometimes, because the equipment can fail or an accident can happen.
It is also illegal to extract BHO at home, even in legal states
There are strict laws controlling how cannabis concentrates can be produced in any state which legalizes cannabis for medical or recreational use. Most states ban volatile extraction methods outright. Some allow it under licensed circumstances. California, for example, has separate licenses for extraction specific to whether or not it’s done with volatile solvents.
There are plenty of alternatives to BHO extraction that are nearly as good, without the risk
Our HOWTO section covers a wide variety of methods for making your own vape oil, edible oil, and rosin.
THC is the chemical that creates the psychoactive effects in cannabis and its derivative products. It is often cited as producing the “high” sensation in cannabis, although we now know more about other compounds and cannabinoids in the marijuana plant.
This is your brain on THC:
The effects of the THC molecule on the brain are subjective and vary from one individual to another. Generally, they may include:
ephoria
relaxation
altered perception
joviality
enhanced perception
sensuality
anxiety
paranoia
THC exhibits effects on the brain in common with all three of stimulants, sedatives, and hallucinogenics. In a typical session of vaping or smoking, effects can be felt within minutes, peak at around 30 minutes, and last between one and three hours. While THC has been demonstrated repeatedly to have limited to negligible effects on older adults, studies have shown cognitive impairment as a long-term effect in those who used cannabis heavily before the age of 25. For this reason, some experts have cautioned that the minimum age for using cannabis should be 25.
It should be clarified that raw cannabis straight off the plant contains no THC, but THCA (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid), the precursor to THC. This is why it must be burned, vaped, or decarbed to release the THC and produce the effects. If you just eat a raw hemp salad, it won’t do anything for you.
Potency of THC
Most consumers pay attention to the THC percentage on the label when buying cannabis products from a dispensary. Some concern has been raised regarding the potency of THC in cannabis. Modern cultivation and processing has drastically altered the experience of consuming the native plant from only decades ago. Before the 1990s, average cannabis THC potency was just 2%. This was gradually increased until modern strains of cannabis boast a potency of up to 28%.
Concentrates, live resin, and other ways of distilling THC from cannabis produces far higher potency. A vape cartridge may contain up to 95% THC. While it is true that this is a far higher potency than what we were consuming a few decades ago, it also means that a user can experience the high of THC in a smaller dose. What people don’t take into account is that before the 1990s, when cannabis had a THC potency of just 2%, it was common for people to smoke several joints in a row, or several bong loads.
Former comedian Louis C.K. tells an engaging story about his experience with modern marijuana potency.
