This time we’re having a look at the Bloom One vape pen, particularly the Pineapple Expressstrain. cartridge, AKA the Bloom One PEX. The Bloom One is a single-unit disposable oil pen with an atomizer and battery built in. It’s made for being a “Weekend Warrior” as the site puts it, then thrown away. The Bloom One PEX turned out to be a disappointment.
Upon locating the Bloom PEX hybrid cartridge, it’s disappointingly small at 350mg.
Nice packaging on the Bloom vape
It feels as if Bloom One is more focused on public image rather than actual cartridge itself. There’s an excess of material, flashy and attention-grabbing. Inside, there’s a pen secured with a button tab and twist mechanism that takes some fumbling to get loose, with a tiny button to eject the cap.
Big hitters won’t be satisfied with the Bloom One vape
The Bloom PEX cartridge is not built for heavy users. The packaging says the THC level is 85%, but it feels like less. The first hit is milky, lightly searing your back throat like cayenne pepper. The box recommends that you hit the THC pen for three seconds, but that doesn’t seem to yield much difference in results. The instructions even caution to draw slow and easy and only use once per hour.
Taste is artificial and some might like that, but many will not
Even for casual users, there’s better options available than the Bloom PEX. The flavor is artificial-tasting, bringing to mind a Brass Knuckles cartridge. This is pineapple too, which is pretty hard to mess up considering it’s a common hybrid strain that’s very well-supported by terpenes. The tropical tastes are just muted.
The pineapple hybrid strain is noted for its anti-stress and anti-depression properties, but it would help if the cart was stronger. As for artificial tasting vapes, Airo Pro might be a better choice for most since is substantially stronger.
Safety features: auto-shut off
The Bloom One battery allows for 10 second pulls on full charge and the first few hits. As the cartridge nears empty, the system will limit the amount of time you can pull it. It might be a nuisance to some but seems like a safety measure to keep it from burning. When the oil is completely emptied, the battery will start to flash while inhaling. It’s a disposable cartridge, so that’s the end of its story. Not a bad feature though as many vapes you might keep burning it.
Overall, the Bloom One could use improvement, but we will try it again
For what it’s worth, the Bloom One PEX seems to be designed for one target market to the exclusion of all others. It is discrete and portable, made to do its humble job and be disposed of. Overall, it could do a lot better.

Cannavative cartridges use THCdistillate oil that comes with a clear look. Overall, they are high quality vape carts that deliver excellent strength. They’re a Nevada only brand but they’re one of the best brands I’ve tried to date. They’re available at both Essence in Las Vegas and Tsaa Nesunkwa in Ely. They made our best cartridges Nevada list.
Recommendations: If it is more widely available, it would be nice. Some people might like some flavor adding, but we do like the original distillate taste.

Update 7/20/2020: Cannavative now has 2 cartridge versions, Live Clear and Resin8. This review covers the Live Clear, which we think is the best of the two.
See our video review of Cannavative below. Keep reading on for a more in-depth review.
Cannavative cartridges are overall top-notch
Cannavative uses CCELL hardware, specifically the TH2, which is a glass body with a ceramic top. This is the best of the CCELL line, and on top of that, they’re using awesome quality oil. I’ve now tried 5 Cannavative cartridges. Combined with good taste, excellent hardware, and great oil quality, Cannavative made our best cartridges Nevada list.
The three strains used in this review are La Chocolat, Double Dream, and Alaska Jack, which appears to be a Cannavative-specific strain. Mostly likely a cross between Alaskan Thunderfuck and Jack Herer strains. I bought two of the Alaska Jack carts, should have got more. There was another cart I bought originally and I forgot the strain name.
Design and Build Quality on Cannavative cartridges is the best, they use the best CCELL variant
Currently, Cannavative uses the TH2 glass cartridge CCELL. There are some cartridges that I would say are as good as this cartridge including the SPRK cartridge. However, this is top-notch and they really could have not picked anything better. The hits are good and smooth, and there’s no burning taste when you hit it hard like on the G Pen Gio.
The packaging of the Cannavative is also pretty unique. It comes inside a bag and then inside a box. This does seem to be a little much packaging, but you will definitely know it’s a Cannavative product when you see it as they use the same bags for everything. It appears to be all recyclable materials.
Oil quality in Cannavative is best of best, no color changes at all
After 5 Cannavative cartridges and none of them has any issues with oil changing color throughout the operation of the cartridge or any other general issues on oil quality. The oil is extremely thick and Cannavative uses no additives or thickeners. It’s pretty much distillates and terpenes. Nothing to complain about here.
Strength on Cannavative is amazing
So far their sativa cartridges seem to be stronger than their indicacartridges. I would say overall the entire line up is very strong, even the indicas. We are just comparing strong to stronger. Nothing from Cannavative is average strength.
I can pretty much get any Cannavative cartridge and expect it to have great strength. They seem to mostly test on the 80s range, the lowest that I found was 80%, the highest was about 85%. THC percentage is not everything when it comes to strength. As I write this review I am hitting on 96% THC Eureka Vapor oil. It’s good, but much rather be hitting on that Double Dream because the effects are stronger even though it’s at 80% THC.
Comparing Cannavative to California carts, the only ones that I would put on par with Cannavative as far as strength out of ones I have tried are Aces Extracts, Select Elite and Airo Pro.
Cannavative carts are substantially stronger than the popular Cookies and Raw Garden carts. I have yet to try the NV version, but compared to the California version of Stiiizy, ten Stiiizy hits do not match up to one Cannavative hit.
If Cannavative gets in to California at some point, it will fly off the shelves. Double Dream was the strongest cart of the bunch, even though it had the lowest THC percentage.
Cannavative carts taste like a standard clean distillate
Cannavative carts taste like a very clean distillate oil. There’s not a whole lot of added flavor here. And if you’re really looking for something that super flavorful with comparable strength, check out Airo Pro. Cannavative is really just a distillant taste, it tastes like distilled oil should and pretty standard. However, I like this taste and have nothing to complain about it.
Alaska Jack and Double Dream tasted very similar. La Chocolat had a bit of a chocolate and coffee taste, but still some of the distillate taste was there as well, which I do like.
Efficiency is about as good as it can be
Currently, the CCELL TH2 is one of the most efficient cartridges out there. The SPRK cartridge might be a little bit more efficient due to the hole placements and also the cartridges on the Jackpot cartridges maybe a little bit more efficient due to the hole placement. However, the CCELL hits very strong and you really are getting just about down to the last drop as much as you can get out of it.
I’m glad Cannavative chose to go with glass CCELL cartridges rather than plastic carts or something like the G Pen Gio.
Cannavative carts seem to last long. The number of puffs you get out the can is definitely better than average. It’s not super runny and it seems to last considerably longer than the BHO oil used in the BaM Gio Pods.
Different packaging for Indica or Sativa, plus strain info
Cannavative uses yellow bags for all Sativa products and purple bags for all Indica products. The only thing I found confusing about this was they use the same style bags for their cartridges that they use for their other extracts. One day I walked in and thought there was a bunch of carts on the shelves, but they had extracts only.
All cards and boxes in the bags then follow that same color coordination. Another interesting bit they add is a strain information card. See below the one for the Indica cartridge I tried.
I don’t have any of the physical issues they listed, but I can tell you they were right on the flavor. The La Chocolat definitely a coffee-like taste to it.
Totally worth it and the price recently was lowered
Recently at Tsaa Nesunkwa in Ely, the price of Cannavative cartridges has come down to $40 each. The carts are half grams and Cannavative currently only sells half-gram carts. That’s lower than the average cartridge in Nevada at $45.
Other stores may still have it at $45, and even at $45 is still an awesome value. Comparing it to California cartridges, many of which are at $30 and $35, it is more expensive, but Nevada is more expensive statewide.
Concluding our Cannavative cartridge review
It is no surprise that Cannavative cartridges are awesome. Their shatter we reviewed was best of best. They seem to focus more on quality production than promotion as I don’t see their name anywhere besides inside the actual shop. However, the stuff does sell out in stores.
I definitely recommend checking out Cannavative if you’re heading out to Las Vegas or anywhere in Nevada. You can find more information on Cannavative here and see more pics of their products on their Instagram.

Currently, a retail rosin press will set you back anywhere from $300 to a grand and up. Which is fine if you have bongo bucks, but the rest of us would just as soon find a cheaper alternative for extracting rosin. For those who want a solvent-less extraction method which is guaranteed to be free of harmful chemicals, rosin is the way to go. Here we go through how to make a Rosin press for less than $100.
We found a bargain method of rosin extraction courtesy of HowToWeed, the MacGyver of cannabis. The video is below and we made written instructions that follow it.
Let’s build a rosin press!
Things you’ll need:
The same hair-straightener you’ve been using
Two wooden blocks
J.B. Weld, high-heat formula
A fruit press
Standard hand-tools and supplies – screwdrivers, measuring tape, marker, hammer, chisel, sandpaper, electrician’s tape
The fruit press will still be usable as a fruit press. Which is an excellent suggestion for squeezing some orange juice to go along with your other refreshments when you’re done.
Step one: Tear down the hair-straightener
We know, your beloved hair-straightener has been with you through many a flattened bud. But don’t worry, we can rebuild it. Better, stronger than it was before. Disassemble the hair-straightener until you have the plastic shell removed, saving the hot plates, electronics, and wiring intact and functional.
Step two: Prep the wooden blocks
You’ll want to affix the plates to the blocks with some precision. So first, mark the center of each block with the measuring tape and marker.
Place the plates on the blocks and do an outline to show where the plates will go.
Use a hammer and chisel to score some grooves out of the wood. We’re going to use J.B. Weld to attach the plates to wooden blocks, except J.B. Weld doesn’t happen to work very well with wood. We also can’t use something like typical hobbyist glue because it has to withstand high temperatures, because you don’t just squeeze rosin out of weed, you gotta iron it out. So nicking a few chips out of the wooden blocks gives the J.B. Weld a better grip.
Finally, sand down the blocks with sandpaper to make sure that any sawdust or debris won’t interfere with the weld.
Step three: Affix the hot plates to the wood blocks
NOTE: In the video, John thinks to wrap the wiring in electrical tape after having the blocks and plates rig in the press to set. But this step might be better handled before assembling the project, maybe first thing after you disassemble the hair-straightener.
Get the J.B. Weld and knead two blobs of it into two lumps about the size of an egg yolk. Smoosh the hot plates onto the blocks.
Use the fruit press to set the blocks. J.B. Weld takes an hour to set, before which it will still be semi-pliable, and eight hours to solidify permanently. Check and be sure that no part of the wiring is pinched underneath the plates on the wood.
What we’ve done here is simply replace the hand-held part of the mechanism with a block housing, which will fit into the fruit press. This will apply a lot more pressure than just the hand-held hair-straightener could do.
Try it out!
Set the hair-straightener controls to the lowest heat setting, and get some parchment paper to house your flower. Fold the flower into the parchment paper as always, set between the plates, and squeeze your rig down.
HowToWeed advises using a cool surface to scrape the rosin off the parchment paper. His example is a block of marble he keeps in the freezer.
You’re pretty much set! It seems like a lot of trouble to go through, but you did just save a few hundred dollars after all. If you were hard up enough to use a hair-straightener before, you’ll get much better results with this method.
Shout-out, as always, for HowToWeed! Check out John Brown’s channel and support him however you can. When the zombie apocalypse comes, this is the guy you’ll want around.
How long do you press rosin?
The recommended times for pressing rosin are: Flower: 1-2.5 minutes at (180-220 ° F); High-quality sift: 1.5-5 minutes at (150-190 ° F); Low-quality sift: 1.5-5 minutes at (180-220 ° F). Just be sure not to go over 220° F, because then the terpenes start evaporating.
Can you press rosin from fresh flower?
You can technically, but it’s not recommended. Good rosin comes from bud that’s at a humidity level of 55% to 62%. Fresh weed has way too much moisture, and worse yet when you try to dab it, it’s going to smell and taste like a handful of lawn grass. Pressing fresh bud will just make a mess. Dry and cure it out into nugs first.
Have you tried it?
Readers, have you built your own rosin press at home? What other MacGyver feats of stoner-ingenuity have you undertaken in your quest for cannabis extraction? Has your sister noticed all the hair-care appliances disappearing yet? Tell us all about it in the comments below or our handy-dandy forum.
Nuvata vape pens are recyclable dose pens that are filled with a THCdistillate. The Nuvata vapes are famous for their unique body and quirky color scheme designed to help the new cannabis consumer. Their oils are extracted from pesticide-free cannabis cultivated throughout California. They are mindful of creating specific flavor and high profiles for each of their flavors.
Nuvata vape pens are widely available in Southern California.
Pros:
The color coordinated packaging really helps keep buying quick and easy
Varying, delicious flavors
Very cool design
The high is a force of nature
Cons:
Some of the pens have a less than robust flavor
Only available in California
Recommendations: Flatter bottom so I can store it upright.
Nuvata is the best experience I have had in a while
This vape pen is exceptional. I am currently testing out three different flavors and each flavor has a unique high. I have the Lime which feels like a true hybrid, Tropical is a sativa-leaning hybrid and finally, Strawberry flavor which is a full sativa.
These three flavors are only a fraction of Nuvata’s vape pens and I really enjoy them. I only made a video with one pen because they’re all similar and superb. Watch the video for a quick general review or continue reading for a more in-depth review.
These pens are superb in quality overall
Everything Nuvata vape pens offers the highest quality. Their oil is the smoothest and tastiest I have had to date. The pen design compliments it all perfectly. The cherry on top would be their amazing flavors. This pen has secured a spot in my stash as an all-time favorite.
Nuvata vape pens use state of the art technology in their builds
These premium vape pens are more than just another dose pen. Each pen has anti-clogging technology to keep it efficient. The mouthpieces on the Nuvata vape pens have dual air-flow technology to keep the hits smooth. It is all topped off with precision heating with a ceramic coil to keep the heating even.
The build on the Nuvata is in a league of its own and mostly plastic
Nuvata fits all the innovative features on a vape pen that is about the length of a stick of gum. The body and mouthpiece have smooth rounded edges and is made almost entirely out of plastic. The body is soft with a matte color and subtle markings for grip. The plastic tank is tucked nicely within the body just underneath the mouthpiece. There is a thin horizontal light underneath the tank that lights up when you take a hit.
The Nuvata vape pen has an anti-clogging design that actually works
The pens I use the most tend to get a clog in the mouthpiece after a few sessions. I store it away and keep it upright. After a while of storing, my Nuvata vape pen regains its smooth hits. As long as I take easy hits the mouthpiece remains clear.
Sleek fun and discreet, Nuvata vapes have a design I can’t stop admiring
The colors are bold and bright on the Nuvata pens and the subtle design feels nice on the fingertips. The pen is lightweight and despite being so brightly colored, super discreet. The simplicity of the design doesn’t warrant unwanted attention to the public imbiber.
Nuvata takes special care of their distillates
They tailor the experience of each vape pen by infusing a 9:1 blend of THC and CBD with natural terpenes. Nuvata vape pens have unique experiences because they meticulously mix specific terpenes and cannabinoids to create an “entourage effect”.
These pens have fantastic oil quality
I have to reiterate that I am not a big fan of distillates, I can usually tolerate them. However everything about the oil in Nuvata vape pens is terrific. The Nuvata vape pen has the best oil. So far they are the smoothest and most enjoyable pen I have had the pleasure of vaping.
Each flavor has its own experience and they all hit real hard
Every Nuvata vape pen I tried gave me an amazing high. The high starts to creep up nicely after a couple of doses. Within 15 minutes the high peaks and lasts for a solid couple of hours. Each high is phenomenal in different ways. I really like the effects of the Tropical as well as the flavor. These vape pens very similar to Roots.
Fun and functional: Packaging is an important part of the Nuvata experience
Accurate and color-coordinated packaging for each flavor isn’t new, but Nuvata has a fun look. Each vape pen has a distillate made to have specific effects and give the same high every time. This means each pen pairs well with different things. So I will give my experience with each flavor and compare it to the information on the box.
Of the three Nuvata vape pens I tested, the tropical flavor pen is my favorite. I really enjoy this flavor for general use throughout the week. The high is more sativa-leaning. It made me super focused but didn’t give me tunnel vision. This flavor made the day go by super quick By making everything a lot more enjoyable.
The lime flavor Nuvata vape pen was my go-to for winding down at the end of the day. It feels more like an indica-leaning high and makes me feel very relaxed and cheerful. This flavor is perfect for sitting back after a long day and unwinding however you like. Nuvata’s lime flavored vape pen made me less focused and more relaxed.
Nuvata’s strawberry flavor pen is definitely the best for outdoor activities. Although this flavor was not the boldest, the high was strong. This vape pen has a high like a pure sativa. It’s perfect for daydreaming while on a hike or a long commute. This flavor is perfect for my weekend activities.
Nuvata vape pens have the most fantastic tasting oil ever
Each puff was a shot of flavor with no negative after tastes. The flavor of each oil is a delicious candy flavor. The Lime pen was like puffing on off-brand Sprite. Strawberry tasted almost exactly like pink candy from a PEZ dispenser. Tropical (my favorite flavor) tastes like a cocktail of skittles without the sour sugary aftertaste of the skittles. I vaped an Old Pal afterward and the Pal tasted very musty by comparison to the Nuvata vape pen.
Some vape pens are not as flavorful as others
All of the Nuvata pens were superb when it came to flavors. But for me, the strawberry flavor pen had a much milder flavor. I can taste the strawberry and it is delicious, but it didn’t come through as strongly as the others.
Efficiency on the Nuvata is standard for the all-in-one style of pen
As a recyclable dose pen these are fairly efficient. One of the pen’s tanks is just about empty and I can still take full doses with good-sized hits. The battery is still heating the oil well on all the pens even after a week of steady vaping.
Nuvata vape pens have 200 doses per pen but I was having too much fun to keep count
Whatever the average life of a 200 dose recyclable pen is, my Nuvata vape pen is lasting me well into a week of continuous smoking. To keep me at a good level, I will usually take about 9 doses throughout the day. The oil will last me for about 2 weeks before I finish it and that’s not bad at all.
The price per flavor is standard for pens, but it comes in cheaper than brands similar to Nuvata
Comparable brands, such as Dosist, come in at a standard 100$ per 200 dose pen. Nuvata offers their 200 dose pen for 50$. For a half-gram of premium quality distillate the Nuvata comes at a slightly higher than average price. Dom pens are also dosed with comparable flavor at a 30$ price tag. An Aces Extracts vape pen will run you $42.
Nuvata made our list of best California cartridges
Nuvata vape pens are definitely a perfect experience for me. Even with the clogging mouthpieces. The pen comes at a standard price in California, but the oil is definitely the best that I have had. The Nuvata has delicious taste and strong high that can stand toe-to-toe with the biggest brands. As of finishing this article, this distillate has the best high and accompanying flavor I have experienced. You can use their website to find products and learn more about where to buy here

Here we take a look at the Linx Eden. In this review by Dab Rat Labs, we cover the good, the bad, and what could be improved upon with this dry herb vaporizer. Overall, this vape is made of quality materials, but there are definitely areas for improvement.
Pros:
Sleek design.
Intuitive controls.
Pocket-friendly cap.
Brings out the full flavor of terpenes.
Fully vapes herb, no burning.
Cons:
Non-standard charger, so you’d better not lose this one!
The silicon cover sleeve is fiddly. Having it on while you tighten the mouthpiece tends to reposition the cover, hiding the buttons and lights.
Titanium pads difficult to remove after use.
Hard to hit.
Linx Eden review and unboxing at Dab Rat Laboratories
Linx Vapor makes the Linx Eden, a dry herb vaporizer.
Dry herb vapes have become a more popular way to hit regular flower. Vaping herb, as opposed to burning it in a joint, produces less toxins and odor. UC San Francisco researchers report that vaping cannabis produces the same THC levels without the harmful toxins of smoking. You might also notice a longer-lasting high with less impairment. Finally, the biggest factor in a dry herb vape’s efficiency is grinding quality.
That feature list in case you mobile folks can’t make out the text in the box shot:
All quartz chamber
Lava plate
Convection heating
Four temperatures
Magnetic cap
Air insulation tech
Usage:
Pack the chamber half-full with well-ground herb. Spread your extract (about the size of a grain of rice) onto one side of the lava plate.
Place the second lava plate on top of the extract, like an Oreo cookie. Place the lava plate cookie in the chamber on top of the dry herb. Close it with the mouthpiece and power it on. You’re ready to go.
To clean: Submerge the lava plates in isopropyl alcohol. Let them soak for an hour, then remove them from alcohol and let them air-dry.
Apparently you have to hit it hard, drawing air through it, to get a good puff of smoke.
Post-vape, you can see where the herb is not burned, but cooked.
The Dime Industries cartridge is filled with pure, high potency THCdistillate. The distillate boasts unmatched purity and smoothness. Their cartridges and hardware are widely available all over Southern California and Northern California. All of their products are distributed by Dime Industries.
Pros:
Tastes and smells normal
Very smooth pulls with huge smoke clouds
The high is very nice
Cons:
The packaging obstructs the cartridge and I couldn’t see that my cartridge was damaged before I bought it
Looks a little funny on most universal 510 thread batteries
It needs to be kept upright when you store it or it bubbles into the mouthpiece
Recommendations: An opening on the front of the packaging so consumers can see the cartridge. The cartridge I bought had a leak and visible damage on the outside and inside.
See below out video review on a Dime Industries cartridge. Continue reading to see out more in depth written review.
The Dime cartridge has an excellent quality overall
Dime Industries manufactures an excellent cartridge. The oil tank is a clear and thick solid glass. Both the mouthpiece and base of the cartridge are metal and painted to fit the aesthetic of the Dime Industries patented zero-waste atomizer.
I didn’t have a chance toactually purchase and get a feel for the Dime atomizer. For this Dime cartridge review I tested the 1 gram, BlueberryLemon Haze cartridge, which is a Sativa. I don’t believe they say the cartridge has actual blueberry strain, so maybe it’s just lemon haze with blueberry terpenes?
The design of the Dime cartridge is one of the best I have seen on the market
The cartridge feels very high quality and it is very pretty to look at. It’s pretty heavy because of the metal and glass but i think that’s a good thing. There are air-holes on either side of the base of the cartridge. These air-holes provide air flow and allow for huge clouds and smooth hits. Not to mention the satisfying hiss they make as I vape. Even with slight damage and a minor leak my cartridge holds up with superb quality overall.
The only problem is storing the cartridge
The only problem I have with my Dime cartridge is it seems to be leaking due to some damage to the body. However I realize now that because of the cartridge’s design, it needs to be stored up-right. If i don’t store it upright, the oil seeps into the chamber and then into the mouthpiece. This isn’t too big of a deal, but on my first hit the hot concentrate bubbled through the mouthpiece and burned my tongue.
The oil in the Dime cartridge is a superb distillate
The oils within the Dime Industries cartridges are distillates. I have never been a fan of distillates because most of them are harsh on my throat. However this particular cartridge has one of the smoothest smokes I ever had. I didn’t go hoarse from smoking it repeatedly and itdoesn’t hit hot.
Sometimes I get a bitter aftertaste or mild headache from smoking some distillates, which was the case with the Timeless Vapes cartridge I had tested previously. The Dime cartridge isn’t giving me headaches, however, and it doesn’t get my battery all hot.
Dime Industries vape cartridges have excellent THC content and the high is very strong on the sativa
The distillate within my Dime cartridge was tested at a very nice 85.68% THC. It only took two solid hits before I start feeling the effects. The high is very uplifting, like a Sativa should be, and it lasts for a good 3 hours. At first, the high seems really light, but then it starts to snowball and it gets very strong.
The cartridge has one of the cleanest tasting distillates I have experienced
I’ve said before that distillates have given me mixed experiences. Sometimes giving me a headache or being a bit too harsh for my throat. However the Dime cartridge is indiscernible from super clean e-juice. The taste is smooth and leaves absolutely no bitter tasting residue on my tongue. I haven’t caught any musty aftertaste. It is very tasty. I would prefer this distillate over Heavy Hitters, which have milder flavors but comparable smoothness.
Dime Industries cartridges are as efficient as possible
Even with air-holes for flow and me making huge clouds, my full gram Dime cartridge is still going strong. My universal battery actually ran out before I could finish my cartridge. I still haven’t been able to finish and I believe it will last well into three weeks. The way Dime Industries manufactures their cartridges looks like I am going to vape almost every drop.
Potency definitely helped the efficiency of my Dime cartridge
At 86% THC my Dime cartridge packed a heavy punch. Not having to constantly be smoking makes me use less oil and since its strong I only need one good pull.
Lower heat settings extend oil life and gave a better experience
I set my universal pen at the lowest heat and I didn’t feel like testing it on a higher setting On the lowest setting my universal battery still hit really well. Lower heat increases the efficiency of my cartridge and in my opinion is the best way to enjoy the full experience Dime cartridges have to offer.
I will most definitely buy another one of their cartridges
At $62.00 for a full gram including taxes, my Dime cartridge came at a typical price. Dime Industries has their own patented atomizer and is convenient for first timers to get great hardware to match the quality of the oil. The carts themselves are great for experienced smokers as well because they taste great and hit hard without being harsh.
Dime Industries made our list of best cartridges for California
Concluding my review on Dime Industries cartridges…
Overall, I would say that Dime provides an excellent experience. The distillate is top notch and is very smooth and flavorful. The high is clean and the oil doesn’t leave any residue on my tongue. I do recommend using their atomizers as the cartridge does look funny on most universal batteries. It surpasses my expectations with great overall quality. I’ll buy it when I need something to last me til next payday.

We’re back with another tutorial courtesy of John Brown with channel HowToWeed. We’ve covered his channel before, recently with “How To Create Your Own Terpene Profile.” This time, we’ll show you how to mix up distillate, fill vape cartridges with it, and store them. Visit our whole HowTo section for your degree in THC consumption, because we’ve developed a whole plant-to-vape chain of tutorials by now.
With the recent epidemics of untrustworthy cartridges, it’s at least comforting to know that we have this option for vaping. When you brew your own, you have complete control over the ingredients, starting from the plant itself. As long as you can get some quality flower, you’re good for the rest of the production chain.
Below is HowToWeed’s full video. Keep reading on for written instructions.
Filling Vape Carts
Things we assume you have on hand:
Vials of distillate
Terpenes
Empty carts
Syringes and needles
A hotplate
A torch (nice to have, not required)
Empty vials for mixing
Anything you set on the hotplate should be able to withstand the temperature. Distillate tends to have a gooey consistency like honey which gets runny when it heats up. See our guide “How To Make Your Own Oil Pen” for more on distillate and terpenes.
Fill the vials with distillate
You will use empty vials for heating the distillate and adding terpenes to the mix, since pure distillate will be odorless and tasteless. Make a note of how much distillate you’re using, because that comes up during the terpene step.
Heat distillate and add terpenes
Just like working with shatter or wax, you want to heat it up a little bit to get that juice flowing. The hotplate should be set near 100° F (37° C). Heat the distillate until it’s liquefying. Either shake it or use the heat gun (if you have one) to get it runny enough to mix.
If you’re making more than one cartridge at a time, you want to use separate transfer containers for each terpene. This is because cross-contamination is an issue with measures of liquid this small. Syringes are the best bet, but droppers, pipettes, or other precise measuring tools work here too.
The consensus on terpene ratios is 10%, namely 1 gram of distillate to 0.1 1ML of terp to make a 10% ratio. Remember that if you’re measuring by volume (within the syringe), volume changes with temperature. The standard practice is to keep terpenes in the fridge. At the very least, keep them away from excess heat and light.
As you see in this video, that’s the ideal thing to do! Terpenes are already mixed quite thoroughly in the natural plants they occur in, so there’s no reason not to. Just follow formulas and percentages as given. Terpenes in cannabis are like frosting on cake: a little of it goes a long way. But yes, mix and blend to your heart’s content.
How much terpenes do you add to distillate?
The formula is given elsewhere already, but just for the less technical: a drop or two per gram of distillate.
Do terpenes get you high?
Nope! Getting high from THC oil is a matter of THC itself. However, terpenes do contribute to the much-discussed entourage effect, which is like the “full body” feeling of cannabis consumption. Some theories say terpenes contribute to faster absorption of THC. Terpenes are really mostly essential oils, found in many other plants not even related to cannabis.
Shake and fill
You’ll want the mixture to be thin enough that a good shake mixes it. You can apply a heat gun straight to the bottom of the vial to just get it thinned out for that second, which is all it takes.
Once you have your mixture, use the syringe to fill the cartridge. It will still have a gooey texture, but it’s going to settle once it cools off in the carts. Cap the carts off, secure them closed, and then stand them upside down while they cool.
When they’re vape-ready, store them right-side up. If you look up to HowToWeed (we all do here), you can get a fancy storage cylinder from Cartsdom with room for six carts and play “cart roulette,” as he shows in his video. This sounds like a fun game.
If you follow that link from his YouTube to Cartsdom, you get 20% off for dropping his name, he gets an affiliate commission to support his channel, and then we get to keep seeing more informative videos like this one. Also, if you get a new storage canister for your cartridges, you can then give the cookie tin back to grandma so she has someplace to stash her knitting again. Or her own carts.
Do you mix and fill your own cartridges at home?

Amerijuana cartridges turned out to be a decent. The oil is nice and thick, it has a smooth taste to it and it gives a really nice high. But looking more into these cartridges, I couldn’t find anything on the company itself. Unsure about the legitimacy of this company, here we look more into Amerijuana carts and our view on them.
Pros:
Smooth taste
Nice oil quality
Gives a great high
Cons:
Lack of information on them
Possibly not a real company
Recommendations: Provide more authentic information on the company as well as lab results. Although these cartridge give a nice high and taste good, there is no saying how legit the company actually is.
Amerijuana cartridges are actually decent, but are they black market carts?
In all honesty, I actually did like this cartridge. But the main thing with this company is that they might not even be an authentic brand. After doing research on them, I couldn’t find anything on the company nor their oil. It’s hard to trust the oil without having any lab tests done to them. Being an unregulated brand, people put their own oil and sell in bulk on the streets.
Another thing is that the packaging claims to have a website, but the website is not even registered. I also couldn’t even find any social media accounts under the brand. Although we could not find their packaging sold online, it’s possible these carts could have different oil in different places from different people.
The good thing is that I wasn’t able to find the packaging for sale online. This may be because it’s a small company and manufacturers haven’t replicated the packaging yet, or certain vendors distribute it in certain states. Either way, not a low of these unknown cartridges seem to in the market yet. Regardless of how good it is, it is still unsure what’s actually in the oil or if it’s safe to consume.
Amerijuana carts are surprisingly good quality
After all the research, I wasn’t to expect a lot from this cartridge. But after taking a few hits, I did get a nice and mellow high from it. The oil does feel somewhat strong and the taste is alright. Not harsh at all nor does it leave a bad taste one bit. But unfortunately there still is no saying how clean these carts are. Just because you have a great tasting cart that gets you really high, doesn’t mean that it will always be safe to consume.
Oil quality is nice and fairly potent
The oil to this cartridge turned out to be really good. It is actually thick and dense and is was consistent all throughout the whole cartridge. Unlike Dabwoods cartridge, it doesn’t have a a dark color to the oil nor too light, like the Chronic Carts. In comparison to most off-branded cartridges, Amerijuana cartridges are a little more potent than most out there.
Compared to most street carts, this is one of the strongest
Because of how many fake cartridges there are in the black market, it can be hard to trust on reliable oil and authentic cartridges. With these kind of brands, you won’t always get the same oil quality when you pick them up. Sometimes, you can randomly get either a really great cart or a light and weak one. We’ve had this experience a lot with carts like Dank Vapes or Cereal Carts.
With that being said, this particular cartridge is fairly strong and gives a lasting high. It unfortunately doesn’t say any THC percentage on the package nor does it have any lab results. But either way, it’s definitely stronger and more potent than most street brands that are out there.
Amerijuana Cartridges tasted more like oil than terpenes
The flavor I picked up is Sundae Driver and I can say these carts taste a lot more like oil than terpenes. It does give somewhat of a sweet taste, but it does give more of a wax flavor. This taste is actually satisfying, very smooth and not harsh one bit. But because it’s more of an oil taste, it does leave a dense smell to it.
Unsure if it’s an authentic or fake CCELL
Right away, you can tell that Amerijuana carts use CCELL cartridge. It’s a full gram, not sealed and a very efficient cart. But taking a close look on the bottom of the cartridge, I only saw two different imprints on them. It only has the CA serial number and says 3 win. From our experience, authentic CCELL’s have 3 different stamps, the serial number, the K stamp and the CCELL logo. Although we are still unsure, we messaged the company just to be sure. As they respond, we will update this post.
Overall, Amerijuana Cartridges are good but not reliable
To sum up, yes we did enjoy Amerijuana carts but they aren’t that trustworthy. With many safer options, you can’t always rely on any cartridge coming from the black market. They may be quality and taste good, but not all carts will be consistent or even safe to smoke. We recommend to always pick your cartridge from a licensed dispensary or at least to have some sort of lab results for the safe of your health.

Unpacking the Rolex Cartridges, I had no idea what to expect from them. Not having heard of the company, I was a bit skeptical about them. The oil did seem fairly clear and thick, but after doing some research on them we company itself, I couldn’t find any authentic information on them. Here we look more into Rolex Cartridges and tell our opinion if they’re legit or not.
Pros:
Decent oil quality
Cons:
Bland and simple taste
No background or proof of authenticity
Not tested for pesticides
Recommendations: Provide information on the company and authentic lab results. Without either, it may be difficult to tell how authentic this company actually us.
Rolex Cartridges have no background and seem to be an unregistered company
While doing research on this company, I couldn’t find any information on them what so ever. They don’t have a website and are no where to be found on Weedmaps. With that being said, it’s hard to say if this is an actual, authentic company or simply a packaging company. The only thing that we did manage to find is their Instagram account, but there’s only a few images on the account.
Apart from this, we weren’t able to find the packaging for sale online yet. Because of this, there probably aren’t many of these cartridges out in many states. But we don’t believe that the actually watch company, Rolex, would create a cartridge company and distribute it to license dispensaries.
Rolex Carts may give a good high but shouldn’t be trustworthy
After taking a few hits, I actually did get a nice high from it. I felt decent for a few hours but just because it gives a good high doesn’t mean it’s okay to consume. There is no saying what’s actually in these carts, wether it contains pesticides or anything harmful.
Decent oil quality, but not all carts will be consistent
The oil for this cartridge does seem okay. It is thick, light and dense, it didn’t move quickly at all. But with no lab results, there is no saying how strong and clean this cartridge actually is. The packaging claims to be over 90% THC and it does feel somewhat potent, but I personally don’t believe that it’s actually over 90%.
Aside from all of this, the oil probably won’t be the same within all cartridges. Because of how small this company is and since there’s no proof how authentic the company actually is, there could be many different vendors selling these carts in many states. Putting their own oil, just like Dabwoods cartridges, when we tried it the oil was dark and thin, but for others the oil seemed mroe potent and clear.
This cartridge has nice strength, but bland taste to it
Not expecting much from these Rolex Carts, it surprisingly gives good hits. Some hits did feel a bit harsh, but overall it would still give me a good high with just a few hits. It can be a little more potent but as mentioned earlier, there’s no telling how strong these carts actually are.
As for the taste, this cartridge gives a very simple and plain taste. The flavor I picked up was Mimosa, but it doesn’t taste anything like it. It tastes like it has very little to no terpenes nor cut, giving it more of an oil flavor. Not to say these carts taste bad, but this particular one just didn’t have much taste and wasn’t as enjoyable for me.
They use a unique but fake CCELL cartridge
At first, I noticed right away that they use a CCELL cartridge or a similar version of it. What makes Rolex Cartridges more unique is their crown logo on the top part of the cartridge and it says high grade inside the cartridge itself. It has all 3 stamps engraved underneath the cartridge.
But taking a closer look, it has a white plastic ring. With out Fake CCELL Cartridge post, we explain how authentic cartridges usually have a clear ring rather than a white plastic one. Along with that, the top part is a screw on. All real carts should be sealed on, never screwed on.
Rolex Cartridges flavors
Because the particular cartridge I have didn’t have any flavor to it, it is possible that all of the flavors could be the same.
To sum up this review, we won’t say that it’s the best cartridge that we’ve tried nor would we recommend someone to try them if they ever encounter them. Mainly because of the lack of information on them, we’re still unsure if they’re just another street cartridge.
With many fake cartridges being distributed, we recommend you to pick up your cartridges from licensed dispensaries. You can’t always be sure what’s in these cartridges or how safe they actually are.

Timeless Vapes fill their cartridges with high quality THC oil from premium medical grade flower. Originally from Arizona, Timeless Vapes handcrafts the flavor profile of all of their oils with terpenes to bring you really great flavors and a variety of strains. Timeless Vapes cartridges are widely available in California, Arizona and Oklahoma and you can buy them wherever most cannabis products are sold.
Pros:
Premium oil quality
Great tasting flavor
Strong pulls with a lot of smoke
Large selection of flavors and strains
No fillers or artificial flavoring
Cons:
The oil can hit pretty harsh
The flavor is ok but leaves a bitter taste on the tongue
Recommendations: I believe that the information they provide on the packaging should be improved. Maybe include percentages of THC and CBD to show the costumer.
See below our video review on the Timeless Vapes cartridges. Continue reading to see a more in-depth review.
Timeless Vapes cartridges are overall great quality
Timeless Vapes have wonderfully manufactured cartridges. And they fit nicely in my universal 510 threaded vape pen. The oil that Timeless Vapes puts in their cartridges are exceptional quality distillates with naturally sourced terpenes. It’s those terpenes that give the oil it’s excellent flavor. For this Timeless Vapes review, I tested their SFV OGindica cartridge.
Cartridges have a solid design, use real CCELL
The vape cartridges have a nice thick chamber on them, and the mouthpiece is a nice smooth mouthpiece and that’s not a bad thing. The only problem is that the chamber and mouthpiece are both plastic. It actually makes the vape cartridge feel quite substantial and the overall feel of the cartridge is great, but I have a preference against plastic because the plastic can permeate into the oil because of the terpenes. The Timeless Vapes cartridges have a design that reminds me of Cresco cartridges, except those are glass.
Timeless Vapes cartridges have high quality distillate
The THC oil within the cartridges have been purified through a distillation process. However, the fine people over at Timeless Vapes made sure that the oil was also purged of any solvents that were used during the distillation process. What they leave behind is a really strong tasting, solvent-free concentrate that hits a bit harshly but at least it has a fantastic amber color.
Packaging lacks information
Although this isn’t too big of a deal, I feel I should reiterate that the packaging of the Timeless Vapes cartridge didn’t have any potency information about the oil. Some packaging, like the one for the Airo Pro, have very detailed information about the oil.
Decent flavor and uplifting high on the indica cartridge that was pretty light
I have never been a fan of brands using terpenes to enhance the flavor of their oils and concentrates, especially because you can never know where they sourced their flavors. Timeless Vapes, however, enhances their distillates with natural terpenes for natural flavor. The zest of lemon and pine really make the SFV OG cartridge shine, but the pungent notes leave very bitter aftertaste that settles for a while on the tongue. For an indica, the high on this Timeless Vapes cartridge was very light.
Timeless Vapes doesn’t have the best taste for potency
Usually a great tasting cartridge will hit very light but these cartridges got me high pretty quickly. It was an uplifting high that lasted for about a couple of hours of hours after a few big hits. Their distillate boasts a THC potency of over 80% but still hits a bit harshly. The high does build up nicely, though. When I think about the high, Select Elite cartridges are a great comparison, which I recommend for a smoother smoke.
Efficiency was not as good because oil vapes fast
The Timeless Vapes cartridge was not the best at efficiency. It only took me about a day before I noticed that I had made a substantial dent in the amount of oil in the cartridge. I will probably be smoking it for the rest of the week, but i doubt that the cartridge will last past the weekend.
Higher heat made bigger clouds but effected taste
I tested the cartridge on all three settings on my pen. High, medium and low. When I put my pen temperature on high I got satisfying smoke but it hit a bit more harshly than i would like. Also the flavor was effected a little. Set your pen on high if you want bigger clouds, but smoking on high also used up more of the oil, which is a problem.
Timeless Vapes has perfect flavor at medium heat
I recommend using this cartridge on a lower heat setting to enjoy all the nice terpene flavor. It also lets the oil last a while longer, but the star of Timeless Vapes is definitely the flavors. I found that smoking it on a medium temperature allowed more flavor and also helped with the bitter aftertaste.
I don’t think would buy Timeless Vapes again but I would smoke it in a pinch
I didn’t really enjoy the experience I had with Timeless Vapes cartridges. It was very smooth and came at a good price, however the smoke was pretty harsh. There was also a heavy bitter aftertaste the oil left on the tongue. That was a bit off-putting.
Yet, with all of the flavors and strains available at Timeless Vapes I wouldn’t mind trying a few other cartridges. They have a lot of flavors to offer. They have so much variety and I’m sure I might be able to try some other flavors one day, and maybe have a better experience. .
You can visit the Timeless Vapes website to check out all the products they sell.

Did you know that many of the same terpenes that are produced by the cannabis plant are also found elsewhere in nature? The Flavor Company’s flavorings are designed to mirror these unique flavors and terpene combinations of the strains they represent.
Flavors are touted as Organic Compliant, Food Grade and Solvent Free. They are made for use in tinctures, edibles, and vape products. These flavors can be added directly to your herbal concentrates or to a base such as MCT or PG.
Organic and Natural Flavor vs Artificial Flavor
Photo from The Flavor Company Instagram Account
What does a product mean when it says “natural flavoring”? Natural flavors include the essence or extractions obtained directly from the plants themselves. Natural flavors contain the flavoring constituents derived from the respective spice, fruit, vegetable, herb, or other substance. An example would be sprinkling sage on poultry, where the sage comes from the sage brush plant.
Artificial flavoring, by contrast, means any substance which was not derived from that natural source, but was synthesized through chemistry. An example would be Ethyl Propionate, a chemical compound used for fruity flavors with a pineapple scent. This chemical also occurs naturally in strawberries and kiwi fruit in trace amounts. This shows that artificial chemicals can still occur in nature, even though it’s more practical to synthesize them.
As for “organic,” the USDA has a standard for organic products, through accredited certifying agents such as the National Organic Program. Qualifications for a product to be “USDA Certified Organic” must be something that can be grown and be eaten, as in an “agriculture” product.
Compliance and Certification
The Flavor Company (TFC) provides assistance with compliance and only works with manufactures that are certified with EU and US regulations.
Safety Data Sheet: The Flavor Company also maintains the SDS for each product sold. A copy of the relevant sheet is shipped with every order.
Pure Natural Flavors
The company offers Pure Natural Premium flavors which are ultra-concentrated and solvent-free, in varieties including hundreds of fruit, spice, and herbal creations.
Natural Flavors MCT
The company also offers flavorings in a medium-chain triglyceride oil, in a range of flavors similar to their Pure Natural Premium products. Check the site for full menu listing.

They also offer a solution for turning your extracts into a vapable oil.
One of the problems with a quartz banger and e-nail heat coil set-up is keeping the assembly together during use.
As we all remember from science class, matter expands when heated and contracts when cooled. Metal and quartz expand and contract at different rates. If the metal heat coil contracts faster than the quartz while cooling, the coil may fall off the banger. If the metal does not expand enough while heating up and is very tight around the quartz, that may result in cracking or shattering the banger. Even if it doesn’t happen the first time, repeated heating and cooling will weaken the quartz and likely form one or more cracks in your daily driver. This can also be very dangerous if flammable materials are waiting underneath your dab rig!
With the set-up pictured above we have a metal coil heating a quartz cup, so to speak. One has to fit inside the other, but not too snugly and not too loosely. This is especially true for the heating coil around the banger nail.
The Old Solution
The early days of e-nail quartz setups featured the side-arm design (pictured above) which incorporated a quartz hook that was fused into the side of the banger itself. This proved to be difficult to get a really good fit without making it impossible to fit the coil around the bucket. The delicate arms were prone to breakage for this reason. More recently, better designs have come along to hold a coil up to a banger nail. Here we offer some handy solutions to help keep a heating coil secured to a quartz banger:
The Cheap & Easy Wire-Tie Method
A typical quick-fix solution is using a bit of wire to secure the two parts together. Many users may prefer this fix, since the wire is easily replaced if need be. The wire bag-ties available in the produce section of a grocery store will suffice as a substitute. It’s not the prettiest solution, but it works. The only snag is disassembly after use. Rather than untwisting the wire, most users opt to simply cut the wire off and bust out a new one for the next time.
If you apply wire to secure the heater coil to the banger, you’re best off using a pair of needle-nosed pliers. Tip: making sure the tabs are completely horizontal while twisting will make a tighter connection than if they are more parallel to each other. Twist exactly like you would when closing a plastic bag, but like you mean it…
Neoprene Banger Holders: Bands and Clips
A more efficient and flexible solution has emerged. It even incorporates the humble roach clip from the old days! Cheech would be proud. This rigging uses an adjustable neoprene rubber timing belt with alligator clips to form a MacGuyver-style banger band and clip set which is highly adjustable.
The band is adjustable to fit a wide range of different axial heat coil and banger combinations. The band is made from neoprene rubber, which can withstand high temperature. It is also wire-reinforced for a second layer of protection against breakage. Although not as strong as the silicone bands (below), the band has very good heat resistance and will not produce any off-gassing if kept at least 3/4″ away from the heated part at 750F. Above that and some small particles could release (not necessarily into your rig, but better safe than sorry). As long as the band stays under (200°C), it won’t be affected. RCCtools reports that there has been one customer that has experienced breakage so far, so be smart. That being said, neoprene is a decent material if you use it correctly, and right under silicon in heat resilience.
Silicone Banger Holders: Bands and Hooks
Silicone bands are the next step up in heat tolerance. They are available in a variety of different sizes. With proper curing, silicone can withstand about 50°C degrees higher than neoprene — up to about 250°C (500°F). Silicone rubber performs superior to rubber at a wide range of temperatures, from -148° F to 572° F. Silicone is widely used in many industries for applications with an exposure to a wide range of temperatures. The hooks that hold the bands make for an easy-on, easy-off set-up
Set Pin Banger Holders
Some users might only own one banger and have no use for switching the mounting rig from one set-up to another. For a more fixed solution, these metal pins slip through the bottom of the heating coil and hold it fast to the bottom of the banger. This solution benefits from being more stable, at the sacrifice of not being as adjustable. That being said, the fit has been perfected over time. You just need to make sure your 30mm coil has a 10mm opening in the very center of the bottom to fit this nail.
How does an e nail work?
An e-nail is an “electronic nail” – a titanium component that provides heat to the banger. The e-nail is a consistent way to keep your dabbing contents at a consistent temperature.
What temp should I set my e nail?
This will vary depending on your rig and preference. Experienced users recommend temperatures in the range of 500° to 600° F (260° to 315° C). Conventional wisdom holds that you should avoid temperature over 700° F (371° C). Work with your rig over time to develop a feel for the “sweet spot.”
Do low temp dabs get you higher?
Nope. Complete urban myth. THC is best absorbed at higher temperature in the 500+ range (see above). The difference, however, is that terpenes start burning off at temperatures as low as 300° F (148° C). So dabbing at high temperatures get you less flavor and less entourage effect. Dab at lower temperatures if you want a full-flavored effect or if the terpenes are more important to you – but you will absorb less THC.
Conclusions
Readers, what is your banger-coil solution? What home-made utensils have you pressed into service in a pinch? We’d love to hear all about it in the comments.

Raw Garden vape cartridges are quality products filled with premium live resin. Their products can be found almost anywhere in California’s cannabis market. Here we review a couple of their strains. These were recently taken off of our best cartridges in Californiabecause the quality has degraded.
Pros:
High quality live resin
Available in any big or small cannabis club or delivery service
Affordable
Cons:
Resin can get stuck in ceramic mouthpiece
Not as strong as it used to be
Licensing Information: THE HIVE CDPH – 10002269
UPDATE 9/2/2020: It’s a shame we have to do this, but we have to say that Raw Garden’s standards have definitely dipped since this review was originally written. For one thing, there is now a class action lawsuit against Raw Garden, alleging that Raw Garden’s live resin isn’t so “live” after all. Take that into context when considering this review.
Check out our video review below of Raw Garden and keep reading on for the more in depth review.
Raw Garden cartridges use quality oil, great hardware, and are priced well
Raw Garden vape cartridges are one of the most affordable, high quality live resin carts in California’s cannabis market. Their concentrates are extracted from quality flowers grown by experienced farmers in Santa Barbara County.
The strains used for this review are Cherry Pop and Raspberry White. We could not find any detailed info on the Raspberry White strain, but it might be a cross between Raspberry Kush and White Berry. Cherry Pop is a sativa and Raspberry White is an indica.
Raw Garden uses authentic CCELLs
Even though their carts are not expensive, they did not go cheap on hardware. All Raw Garden carts use CCELL cartridges, particularly the TH2. These have a glass body and a ceramic mouthpiece. These give a good kick in the hit that most the clones just don’t match up to.
Raw Garden made a good choice going with CCELL, leaving us with nothing to complain about on hardware. We would like to see them come out with a syringe as well so we could test it out in different hardware. I bet this oil would also pair well with a SPRK cartridge.
A benefit of the TH2 over other CCELL carts is you can refill it or dump the oil out easily. The plastic top CCELLs are very difficult to open, but these ceramic tops screw right off. If there is a hardware failure, although rare, the oil can be easily dumped out into another cart.
Oil quality is top notch, smooth on the first hit
Raw Garden vape cartridges have great quality oil. It’s a refined live resin that looks amazing and vapes smooth. Definitely one of the better cartridges out there.
The first hit is an experience since the concentrate inside the vape cartridge isn’t harsh. Some people equate coughing on the first hit a good sign… I don’t. Comparing live resin to live resin, would say it’s about on par with a Justdab cartridge. I think Remedy carts had a little bit better live resin oil, but the hardware is so weak, Raw Garden comes out ahead.
What’s Inside a Raw Garden Cartridge?
Raw Garden vape cartridges use live resin with no fillers or additives. The labeling on the packaging guarantees it is a live resin sauce cartridge. Raw Garden’s packaging is fully compliant with California cannabis law.
They are not shy in admitting that their concentrates have CBD in it either.
Raw Garden vape carts are strong, but not the strongest
There’s no lack of strength on Raw Garden carts. I would put them just below Airo Pro and Select Elite on strength as a comparison. All three use CCELL hardware, but Airo Pro and Select Elite are distillate oils, not live resin.
The Raspberry White came in at an impressive 90% THC. However, THC percentage is not everything. It was for sure strong and in the top 15% of carts, but I have had Airo Pro carts in the 80s that were stronger.
You can still taste a little flower in Raw Garden carts
Raw Garden vape cartridges aren’t as filled with terpenes as I’d expected. Most solvent-based vape cartridges taste like air-freshener. But Raw Garden leaves a little bit of flower taste in there.
I got Cherry Pop and it tasted musty and floral. After the first hit there is a mild sweet after taste lingered once I exhaled. For some, the musty-floral taste in Raw Garden’s Cherry Pop cartridge may be overwhelming.
The Raspberry White cartridge was also floral tasting. Nothing fake tasting about it, but not super flavorful either. If you are looking for something strong with a lot of flavor, check out Airo Pro.
Oil lasts long, high number of puffs
Raw Garden cartridges lasts a while. And a half-gram cart, for me, lasted about three to four days with constant smoking. A full gram cart would easily last for a week.
After a few drags from a Raw Garden cartridge, the user gets the effects they want to feel. Raw Garden’s concentrates are in the 80% and up range. The
Value is great for the quality
Raw Garden vape cartridges go for about $30 to $35 for 500 mg. The full gram cartridges are $60 at most places. Compared to other brands, Raw Garden cartridges are one of the most affordable live resin carts out there.
As a comparison, the Remedy live resin cartridge in Las Vegas costs $46 and used to be $64 at Essence Tropicana West. The Binske cartridge was also about $60. However, Justdab carts are only $35 as well and I would put them on par with Raw Garden.
There isn’t anything remarkable about the technology inside a Raw Garden vape cartridge. It’s just a good and honest well extracted live resin sauce cartridge with good taste and great effect.
Concluding our Raw Garden review
Raw Garden vape cartridges aren’t fake news. They’re real and do not fall under the category of low quality fake cartridges circulating around the black market since they’re their own brand.
In terms of quality, affordability, experience, and taste, I would say their vape cartridges are a good standard. You can find Raw Garden vape cartridges near you on Weedmaps and you can find Raw Garden’s website here.

How to winterize rosin has been a topic of interest by a lot of cannabis extract enthusiasts. There’s a limited amount of information out there in terms of DIY. A video by John Brown, a WeedTuber, breaks it down to a few easy steps.
Below check out the video guide from John, and keep reading to see everything written out step by step.
What is Winterization?
Rosinwinterization is the process of using food-grade alcohol to separate the fats, waxes and lipids from concentrates. Winterized rosin can be used in edible recipes, vapes, and even dabbing.
Why Winterize Rosin
Some enthusiasts use rosin winterization because it is a relatively inexpensive way to remove impurities, like wax, left behind in your rosin. By removing the impurities in the rosin, it keeps and looks fresh for longer and also increases in THC content.
Perhaps, it might also work withreclaimed concentrates— recycling it for further use. Make sure you remove any alcohol before you smoke or vape anything winterized.
Why Not to Winterize Rosin
There are people wary of the impurities from this extraction method. Fear of BHO extraction is an excellent example since people are moving to smoke solvent-less extracts. However the ethanol can be completely purged from your rosin to make it “solvent-free.”
Although, understanding why flavor is more appreciated than a high THC content is understandable. Live resin keeps the terpeneshigh thus making the cannabis concentrates flavorful.
Either way, since most concentrates aren’t really solvent-less, this little experiment or winterizing rosin proves to be interesting.
Tools Needed for Rosin Winterization
Dab tools
2 – 3 Beakers
Hot Plate
Food-grade Alcohol
Syringes
Filters
How to Prep for Rosin Winterization
To begin winterizing rosin place rosin into a beaker or shot glass. Using a heated flat or spiked tool tip to handle the rosin proves to be easier.
Put alcohol into the beaker with a 1:10 rosin to alcohol ratio and place on heat source. Note: Everclear is a food-grade alcohol is used in the video as it has a more neutral flavor.
Set your heat source to low then place your beaker on it. Stir the rosin mixture well to let the alcohol remove the remaining clumps of rosin.
Once the mixture turns into a bright shade of amber you will see how the fats and waxes have separated from the rosin.
After the separation place the alcohol solution into your freezer for fourteen (14) hours. Then remove from freezer. You should see the fat, wax, and lipids have fully separated from your rosin and settled at the bottom of you beaker.
How to Filter for Winterized Rosin
Take a syringe and carefully pull the alcohol until the beaker is empty. Using two or three syringes makes the work easier because you’ll need to sift the fat and waxes from making it too difficult to push through micron filters in the next step.
Replace the needle points with .22 Micron Filters. After the filter is secured, gently push the rosin through the filters and into a clean beaker.
Once you’ve pushed all your rosin through, the process of rosin winterization is complete.
Safety Note: Make sure you have proper ventilation evaporating the alcohol.
How to Further Refine Winterized Rosin
Further refining your winterized rosin is best for dabbing or filling in a vape cartridge is possible.
Place your filtered rosin onto a heat source at a low temperature, stir continuously. This process could take a couple of hours and using an automated stirrer is advised. Stirring is important to keep your rosin from burning and speed up the the refining process.
Place a larger beaker over your rosin-filled beaker and raise the temperature of your heat source to medium-high heat (95 degrees Celsius/ 203 Fahrenheit should suffice).
Let it sit for about two hours. After this step, your rosin will be the purest you could get it without the need for a vacuum.
The process to winterize rosin is not difficult, It’s time consuming, but it familiarizes you with the possibilities of handling and understanding extracts.
Our extraction series continues…

Testing True Meds cartridge, we didn’t know what to expect from it. Having never heard of them, we couldn’t find any information about the company online. Additionally, the packaging didn’t seem official nor have any background information on the company. Here we look more into True Meds Earth Products.
Pros:
We couldn’t find any
Cons:
Thin oil
Bland taste
No information on company
Recommendations: If this is a legit company, provide more information on the company itself, their cartridges and lab results.
True Meds Earth Products seems to be a packaging company
After doing some research, we weren’t able to find anything about this company. No official website, no social media account, no lab results, not even anything on Reddit about it. The only thing we are able to find is various packaging being sold online. With that being said, True Meds cartridge are most likely pre-filled cartridges that the black market and vendors sell on the streets.
True Meds cartridge gives light hits and a light high
Something about this cartridge is that it is smooth and it does provide light hits. But with that, it does also give a weak high, unfortunately. It took me a while to even feel a buzz, I had to take multiple hits to feel anything. The packaging doesn’t say any THC content so we can’t say how potent it is. We can’t even be sure if it contains any sort of pesticides. But in our experience, True Meds carts didn’t feel potent at all.
Oil quality seems okay, but is very thin
At first glance, the oil looked decent and it has a light gold color. But the color is misleading, the oil to the cartridge we picked up is very light and thin. The only good thing about this cartridge is that it is fairly efficient. Although the oil is thin, it is a little thicker than Dank Vapes. As for the strength, the high didn’t feel strong one bit.
The taste to it is very bland and simple
This is another thing I disliked about this cartridge, the one we picked up has little to no taste to it. It doesn’t say any strain name on the package. It just taste like oil and cut, it doesn’t taste like it has any terpenes in it. I personally didn’t like the taste it gives, because of that I didn’t even finish the cartridge myself.
This particular cartridge uses an inauthentic CCELL
At first, we weren’t able to tell that it was a fake CELL cartridge. Our cartridge seemed authentic, it has the serial number and all three stamps underneath the cartridge itself. But taking a closer look, we compared it with another CCELL cartridge. Something we noticed is that the center of the cartridge, the metal tube, one is thicker than the other. True Meds vape carts has a thicker metal tube, leaving less room for oil.
While doing research on the company, not only did we find no background information or any sort of info on them online. But we were also able to find various websites, even Amazon, selling their packaging online. Below, we show the different types of package for the cartridge we found for sale.
In conclusion, True Meds Earth Products isn’t a reliable company
Due to the lack of information we are able to find on these cartridges, we can’t rely on them. As mentioned earlier, we have to say that this company is simply a packaging company rather than an authentic cartridge company. We just can’t find any background, website, social media or lab results on the company, there is no proof it is a registered or even a real company itself.
With this being said, the oil can be very skeptical to vape. You can’t be sure what’s in these pre-filled cartridges, be it pesticides or anything unsafe to smoke. We recommend you to get your products at dispensary and to vape at your own risk.

Dabwoods is a popular cartridge brand, known for being the first backwoods flavor vape cartridge. Although people confuse this company with Dankwoods, Dabwoods is its own company primarily selling vape cartridges and merchandise. These cartridges may give smooth hits and a nice high, but there isn’t authentic information on the company to be found online.
Pros:
Smooth taste
Good hardware
Cons:
Oil not that strong
No lab results
Recommendations: More information on the company background to show if it is an authentic company or not. Make the oil stronger.
UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety. We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.
Dabwoods cartridges might be unregulated
First off, there is no legitimacy as to wether Dabwoods is a legit company or not. After some research, we couldn’t find any background nor official website. Another thing is that they may claim to be over 85% THC, but they have no lab results to their name. The only thing that we were able to find was an Instagram page saying that they are located in California.
Because of this, there are probably are more fakes than there are real ones. Also they don’t have any information as to how to identify real and fake carts.
Dabwoods Pineapple gives a mellow high
The flavor that we picked up is a hybrid and it gives a nice and relaxing high. The high is lighter than I’d like it to be and it doesn’t last too long. It may not be as strong in our experience, but it does give very smooth and soothing hits.
Thin and fairly dark oil on the Dabwoods vape cart
At first glance, we weren’t a huge fan of the oil quality. It seemed dark to us and it is somewhat runny. Even though the oil is thin, it was still pretty efficient and lasted a decent amount of puffs. Besides that, the taste is better than what the oil quality seems.
This cartridge gives a light, piney taste to it
This particular flavor that we picked up gives more of a piney taste rather than pineapple. Moreover, Dabwoods do give somewhat of a backwoood taste to it. Moreover, it gives off a wood/oak like taste to it. This could be because of the wooden tip, but overall the flavor is sweet and smooth, giving a good mixture of terpenes.
Good hardware allows smooth and efficient hits
Something Dabwoods prides themselves of is their ceramic cartridge with the wooden tip. It does give nice comfort to the lips and is very efficient. At first glance, the cartridge did seem too look like a CCELL. But unlike an authentic CCELL, there is no labels underneath the cartridge itself and it has a plastic ring rather than clear underneath the atomizer. It’s also not a fake CCELL because they are not trying to counterfeit anything, it’s just a clone. Regardless, the cartridge gives soothing and easy hits.
Another thing we noticed about the wooden tip is that we believe that it might affects the taste of the cartridge as mentioned earlier. This may not be true, but in our experience we believe that the wooden tip gave off a wooden/oak like taste.
Packaging is sold online
What I didn’t like the most about this cart is the fact that they sell the packaging online on eBay. This allows vendors to pre-fill them with what ever they want inside the cartridge. This makes it susceptible to having pesticides, you can’t be too sure what exactly you’re smoking.
Dabwoods official flavors:
Banana
Russian
Grapes
Peaches & Cream
Pineapple
Honey Berry
Strawberry
Apple
Vanilla
Watermelon
UPDATE 3/19/20: Recent new form of DabWoods packaging seen here.
To conclude, Dabwoods cartridge gives smooth and light hits
Overall, the Dabwoods cartridge is decent and does give smooth hits. The oil quality can improve, but the taste is decent and it does give clean hits. The main thing about this company is that there are many fakes out being distributed. We aren’t even sure if the one we have is a fake, there isn’t any authentic information to be found online as to if they’re legit or not.

Here we take a look at the Lucid Oils cartridge. They have come out with stronger oil across the board, including the 87% THC found in this Strawberry Cough vape cartridge. We picked up another cartridge recently and they did change the packaging. Strength has also improved.
Pros:
Good taste
Decent strength
Cons:
Hardware does not hit hard
Recommendations: Swap the hardware to something that hits harder. Currently, I prefer their oil syringe and refilling a used CCELL. Their syringes are some of the best out there.
Update: Lucid Oils carts have gotten stronger and stronger. Now in 2020 they are a different level cart than when we first did this review. Originally we rated this at a decent strength, now it’s a great strength. Price has also become the same as other carts.
The Lucid Oils cartridge proved tasty and strong with the right battery
Originally I tried out their earlier syringe which came in at 68% THC and was not that strong. It was the strongest they had available at the time. That was one of the first time seeing their products and it’s not that uncommon you see stronger versions of oil come out as brands develop better products.
Then they updated their syringes and had cartridges available. You’ll find plenty of Lucid Oils products in the 85% to 94% THC range.
The syringes and carts we still get frequently, more so the syringes since they are $5 cheaper at Tsaa Nesunkwa and I prefer them on once used 500ml of TH2 CCELL hardware (what comes on Roots, Cannavative, Fuze, Jetty, Select Elite and many more). We will usually use 2 syringes on a used cart, so it’s gone through 3 half grams. After that the mouthpiece can get a bit too clogged.
Design could use some improvement, build is solid
Lucid Oils cartridges use a CCELL clone that’s probably the most popular clone. It looks pretty close and also uses a ceramic core, but you can tell the difference in appearance and performance. There are two O-rings on this one as opposed to one on the CCELL, and the tip is a polished metal. The glass is thick and overall the build seems great.
Where this cart under performs compared to an authentic CCELL is on putting out hard hits. It doesn’t have that extra kick the CCELL cart does. However, the excellent oil makes this still a good cartridge.
Micro style battery worked best on this cart
I tried this cart with different batteries and found the SteamCloud Micro, which is basically a SteamCloud-branded Micro battery with a 510 connection, worked better on this cart than my typical batteries I use on CCELL carts. The Micro did not work well with the original CCELL either.
Using the Micro battery made a big difference on airflow. Conversely, the Micro battery seemed to tight on airflow on real CCELLs. The Micro is ugly and not discreet, but it works magic on this clone.
Lucid Oils uses a solventless extract system that produces quality oil
Nothing lacking here on the quality of the oil. I am not an expert, but according to the budtender at Essence on West Tropicana Lucid Oils only makes solventless extracts. The oil is thick, clear, and vapes slow. Where this cartridge was purchased, Nevada, testing is strict so there are no pesticides issues.
Cartridge is stronger on the right battery
As mentioned above the awkward looking Micro battery gets better airflow on this style of CCELL clone. I would much prefer an authentic ceramic top TH2 cart, the same one Roots cartridges use. The SPRK cartridge and Bud Tank V16 are also options that would outperform this clone. Both of those are on par with CCELL carts.
This style cart only does so-so the Magic 710 and Vessel battery. Tried both of those before I was reviewing the Micro and found it to match up well with this style. I would still say the Vessel is better on everything else due to the enhanced airflow.
Taste is excellent on everything Lucid Oils so far
Both the syringe I tried before and this cartridge taste excellent. I do think a better hardware would deliver slightly better flavor here. Sometimes this clone gives a tiny bit of a metallic like taste and when I used the syringe version of Lucid in a different style cart it tasted better.
Cartridge is efficient, but better hits could add to efficiency
Nothing lacking on efficiency as far as leakage or left over oil being stuck in the Lucid Oils cartridge. Efficiency takes a bit of a hit on the fact this cart just does not hit as good as some of the other types of hardware out there. You get more out of each hit with better hardware.
Number of Puffs is good, vapes slow
Lucid Oils aren’t going to vape away really quickly like a fake Dank Vapes. There’s just THC oil and terpenes in there. Number of puffs was comparable with any thick distillate cartridge.
The Lucid Oils cart is now priced the same as others.
The average cost of a half gram cartridge in Nevada is about $45. The Lucid Oil cartridge was $52 the first time we got it. Now their carts are $40-45 like other brands. At Tsaa Nesunkway they are $40 plus tax.
Airo Pro also was $52 for a while, but recently their carts have dropped down to $45 a piece.
These are prices at a good priced dispensary in Las Vegas. If you go somewhere like Pisos it might be $70+ since a regular half gram Roots there is $65, while it’s $40-45 everywhere else.
Concluding our Lucid Oils cartridge review
The Lucid Oils THC cart is something I would get again if their oils are not available. Since they are using a CCELL clone, I rather opt for the same oil in a syringe.
They did a great job upgrading their strength from previous revisions. We would just like to see a better performing hardware paired with this excellent oil.
