The Cheapest Cartridges in California

4
California-cheapest-vapes

We get it, cannabis can be expensive. We were all yelling for legalized marijuana going back as far as, well, since it was prohibited, and we always said we’d gladly pay taxes on it. Well, we got our wish! It’s recreation-legal in about 1/3rd of the US, medically legal in about another 1/3rd, and by golly it is taxed to the harvest moon!

Since price can be a factor of concern to the common stoner, especially during the economic fallout of a global pandemic, we’re going to round up the cheapest THC cartridges in each major legalized state. We’re doing this both with dispensary research, and polling individual users.

California seems a logical place to start. It’s in the top ten most expensive states to live in, while five of its major cities (San Diego, Oakland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Jose) are in the top ten most expensive US cities to live in. With all that expense on your wallet, it’s only natural that you’d look to cut costs wherever you can, including your weed budget.

So, we find these THC cartridge brands to consistently be the most price-slashing budget brands in the state:

Papa’s Herb

cheapest-carts_Papas-Herb

Price range: $15 / 0.5G – $25 / 1G distillate

Our review of Papa’s Herb here

Behind the slightly geeky visage of the Papa mascot lies an unpretentious cart which packs in the value where it counts. We found Papa’s Herb cartridges to be potent distillate with outstanding flavor. While the cart hardware is nothing to write home about, it lets you have decent hits. The cartridge is efficient and vapes all the oil to the last drop. Papa’s Herb is a popular brand you won’t have too hard a time finding, and with value like this, it’s no wonder why!

Honeyleaf

cheapest-carts_Honeyleaf

Price range: $30 / 0.5G live resin; $14.53 / 0.5G – $20.99 / 1G distillate

We have yet to review Honeyleaf (added to our TODO)

Not only is Honeyleaf one of the more budget-friendly brands we find, but they have a wide variety of products available including live resin as well as distillate. The cheaper prices on Honeyleaf may only be at certain dispensaries we’re finding, but they’re out there.

Dime Bag

cheapest-carts_Dime-Bag

Price range: $30 / 1G distillate

Our review of Dime Bag here

Dime Bag is the last name in budget cartridges. While the price is very reasonable, the quality isn’t going to be stellar on any front, between taste, potency, or hardware. Think of them as “cartridges if Dollar Tree sold them.” For a bonus if you’re into dabs, check out our review of Dime Bag live resin sugar, which had much higher marks in value while still keeping a budget-friendly price of $25 / 1G.

Woodstock

cheapest-carts_Woodstock

Price range: $16 / 0.5G distillate

Our review of Woodstock here

Despite its Boomer-era aesthetics and jazzy packaging, Woodstock is an unbelievably inexpensive cartridge that manages to have decent flavor and potency, and didn’t even cheap out on the hardware build quality too much. Our reviewer got them for $13 each in April of 2021, which wasn’t even a special promo. They may not always be easy to find, but at prices like these they’re worth tracking down.

Fun Uncle

cheapest-carts_Fun-Uncle

Price range: $18 / 1G distillate

Our review of Fun Uncle here

The average price we see for Fun Uncle is $30 / gram, but they are not unheard-of in Cali for $20 prices. The $18 / 1G might be a rare low, but it goes to show what a reasonably-priced brand it can be. Our reviewer got them for $16 in August of 2021. Fun Uncle, for yet another thrifty brand with a whimsical name, makes distillate cartridges with added terpenes. They’ve got excellent taste and potency packed into decent quality hardware. Our reviewer rated them among the best budget brands he’d tried, and our man in Cali doesn’t throw that praise around lightly.

Old Pal

cheapest-carts_Old-Pal

Price range: $17 / 0.5G – $8 / disposable pen – $32 1G distillate

Our review of Old Pal here

Old Pal is the poster child for no-frills vape brands that have decent quality for a budget price. It’s well-established, not that hard to find, and is consistently the budget brand at most dispensaries. Not only does Old Pal impress us once we get it home, but we had to put Old Pal on our best cartridges lists for both California and Nevada! The fact that a brand can stand toe to toe with the top of the line while being one of the cheapest cartridges out there tells you all you need to know about Old Pal. Go try one, at least to say you have.

Budget California shoppers – how did we do?

Of course, the best deal you’ll get is at a good dispensary which has special offers and promotions. Please feel free to share you best bargain-hunting experiences here in our comments, or in our luxury forum which has a special category, “My Dispensary Haul,” just for posting your plunder!

The Cheapest Cartridges in Nevada

1
Nevada-cheapest-vapes

We get it, cannabis can be expensive. We were all yelling for legalized marijuana going back as far as, well, since it was prohibited, and we always said we’d gladly pay taxes on it. Well, we got our wish! It’s recreation-legal in about 1/3rd of the US, medically legal in about another 1/3rd, and by golly, it is taxed to the harvest moon!

Since the price can be a factor of concern to the common stoner, especially during the economic fallout of a global pandemic, we’re going to round up the cheapest THC cartridges in each major legalized state. We’re doing this both with dispensary research, and polling individual users.

Nevada is our pick for the top state with the best cannabis scene. The Sin City vibe adds to the atmosphere of liberal hedonism, but on top of that Nevada got regulation right where so many other states get it wrong. With a dispensary scene that offers a lot of good quality and variety, it’s a stoner’s paradise!

But even in the Silver State, a good price for your cannabis is as welcome there as in any other. We sent our bargain-hunter staff out to scour the state for the most inexpensive THC cartridge brands.

Special Mention: Kanji, KYND, Sun Valley Cannabis

Kanji_vape_3

Price range: $11 0.5G (sometimes)

Our review of Kanji vapes is here.

Brands like Kanji, KYND, and Sun Valley Cannabis are really just the house brands for The Dispensary, NV. They are usually reasonably priced without being on special, but they almost always are on special, being as low as $11 per half gram! Not only does Kanji blow us away with its strength and quality, but a price of $11 per half gram makes us want to pitch a tent in the Dispensary parking lot and never shop anywhere else again.

Polaris MMJ

cheapest-carts-Nevada_Polaris-MMJ

Price range: $25 0.5G

Our review of Polaris MMJ flower here

We already gave Polaris MMJ top marks for their flower, so it’s a pleasant surprise to see that they also put that quality into a reasonably-priced cartridge! We found a lot of $25 half grams in Las Vegas, but not all of them have the quality we have found with their brand so far. Also, Head Cheese is not an easy strain to pull off, so they get top billing and a special place in our green little hearts.

Indo Cart

cheapest-carts-Nevada_Indocart

Price range: $25 0.5G

Our review of Indocart here

There are many $25 half grams to get to, so we’ll keep it simple. When we checked out IndoCarts last year, we were very impressed with their quality oil, even disregarding the price. While at the dispensary we originally got IndoCarts from, we see they’re raised their prices, we find many offers closer to the strip offering IndoCarts at a cheaper price.

Srene

cheapest-carts-Nevada_Srene

Price range: $25 0.5G

Our review of Srene carts here

We’ve reviewed Srene twice and found them vastly improved by the second pass last year. We’re not just counting “less expensive” here, we’re counting “good value for money.” So Srene for $25 half-gram is a better deal than most $25 half-grams.

Vapen

cheapest-carts-Nevada_Vapen

Price range: $25 0.5G

See our Vapen review here

In our continued march of $25 half grams, we thought the value of Vapen was well worth even paying full price. That was last year, so again we’ll call a good price on a Vapen a good buy. We also heard a rumor of a “buy one get one for $1” deal on Vapens at one dispo, so keep an eye out.

White Lvbel

cheapest-carts-Nevada_White-Lvbel

Price range: $27 0.5G – $39 1G

Our review of White Lvbel carts here

The cheapest we could find White Lvbel carts for this time around is $27 per 0.5G, but consider our review of White Lvbel just at the beginning of this year, when we said even $80 for a full gram wasn’t a bad price for the value. They get edged out of the cheapest price category by a hair, and we’ve seen them at The Dispensary in Henderson for $39 full grams.

Provisions

cheapest-carts-Nevada_Provisions

Price range: $40 0.9G

Our review of Provisions cartridges here

Nevada has some weird laws warping its cartridge capacity standards lately, so we see weird sizes like 0.3G, 0.6G, and 0.9G. When we tried Provisions, we thought they were a blast for a full gram at $40, so we have no qualms at knocking off a tenth of a gram. We also still see deals like “3 for $100” at Jardin. No arguments from us there! Provisions is a consistently high-quality, low-price value.

Old Pal

cheapest-carts_Old-Pal

Price range: $20 / 0.5G – $36 / 1G

Our review of Old Pal here

Of course, we can’t neglect the king of rock-bottom THC vape cartridges, Old Pal. Our old pal Old Pal is always there for us. We give it a glowing review, but notice that we tried the Nevada version. We hear in California that the quality of Old Pal is worse there. It’s not the first time we’ve seen a stairstep in quality between the two states. But in Nevada, we’re happy with Old Pal for being consistently reasonable, at least.

Final Thoughts…

When it comes to bargain hunting in Nevada, the dispensary tends to count more than the brand. You play a different game in Nevada. You take your phone around and get text subscriptions to dispensaries, then watch for deals to pop up here one week and there the next.

Las Vegas Readers, how fare you? Let us know what prices are like out there, and give your fellow stoners a tip in the comments or in our plush forum.

CBD Luxe Vape Pens Review – Gets You Through the Day

cbd luxe pens review

When I first heard of CBD a few years ago, I thought it only had one use: to keep you relaxed. It never dawned on me that it could be for other stuff. CBD Luxe is a company that definitely highlights ALL of the uses CBD can have, and this time they’re keeping you in check through the entire day with their line of disposable CBD vape pens.

CBD Luxe carries three vape pens: Be Alert (daytime use), Be Clear (anytime use), and Be Calm (nighttime use). In conjunction with CBD, each pen has essential oils that will help you during each time of the day. Need to mellow out? Puff on Be Calm. Need some pep in your step? Use the Be Alert pen. Want to focus? Vape Be Clear. I need help in all three of those categories, so I reviewed every pen in the collection.

Pros:

  • Easy to use
  • Nice taste
  • Efficient

Cons:

  • A bit expensive

Recommendations: Make a bundle that includes all three of the disposable vape pens for a discount since they are used at different points in the day.

cbd luxe pens box

The design of the pens is modern and easy to use

Even though I love a good cartridge, the hit-it and quit-it convenience of disposable vape pens are top-tier.

There are no confusing moving parts to put together, and there’s no need for a charger. This is helpful for people like me who tend to lose things. The less I have to keep up with, the better.

The CBD Luxe vape pens come fully charged and once you’re out of puffs, you just toss them out. Each pen has a corresponding color and each time you take a puff the end of the pen lights up. It’s easy-peasy and makes the smoking experience stress-free.

cbd luxe pens close up

Great effects and potency that won’t overpower your day

I use essential oils regularly for aromatherapy, and I’ve been starting to get into their individual uses when you smoke or ingest them.

Using these pens reassured me about the truly amazing uses that essential oils have. Each pen did what its namesake set out to do. Be Alert definitely woke me up a bit, Be Clear gave my brain more focus to write, and Be Calm quieted my thoughts enough before bed to relax.

Let’s get into the potency and what oils are used for each pen:

Be Alert:

  • 200mg CBD
  • 1 mL MCT Coconut Oil
  •  .66mg Essential Lemon Oil
  • .66mg Essential Lime Oil
  • .16mg Essential Ginger Oil

Be Clear:

  • 200mg CBD
  • MCT Coconut Oil
  • .45mg Peppermint Oil

Be Calm:

  • 200mg CBD
  • 1 mL MCT Coconut Oil
  • .66mg Essential Lavender Oil
  • .66mg Essential Chamomile
  • .66mg Essential Valerian Oil

Each pen definitely does its thing, but not too much where you won’t be able to get through your day. I actually found myself very productive. I puffed Be Alert when I woke up at 8 am, then used Be Clear a few times during the day, and I used Be Calm at about 9 pm when it was time for me to wind down.

cbd luxe pens

Be Calm hits the harshest, and Be Clear hits the smoothest

If there was any of the three pens that I’d expect to be the least harsh I’d expect it to be Be Calm. I mean, it has the word ‘calm’ in it, right? Well, Be Calm was the only one that I found to hit my throat the harshest. This is probably because of the types of essential oil used in the formula for Be Calm.

Be Clear is pretty much just CBD, coconut oil, and peppermint oil, which explains why it probably hits the smoothest.

The peppermint oil feels like your lungs are getting the best massage when you take a hit. Be Clear also tastes the best to me, but I love a good minty taste.

Concluding this review

The pens are a decent value separately, but there should be a discounted bundle that includes all three.

Each pen costs $31.99, which isn’t bad for the high quality you are getting, but I believe this trio works best as a unit. Therefore, I feel there should be an option where you get a deal on a bundle. Paying $95.97 pre-tax just to get all three seems like a lot.

Kiara CBD Vape Pod Review – Great For Your Anxiety

kiara cbd vape pod review

The Kiara Quick Bliss Vape Pod has been a lifesaver these past few days. My anxiety levels have been pretty high, and I am truly grateful for the Kiara Quick Bliss Vape Pod. I’ve felt even more relieved than some of my anxiety meds have ever made me feel. It was quick-acting, clean, and didn’t make me sleepy or give me brain fog. This is a super clean vape; completely free of any additives. It’s just straight-up hemp. So, let’s dig deeper into this review.

Pros:

  • Strong
  • Great effects
  • Decent price

Cons:

  • No taste

Recommendations: None

kiara cbd vape pod

The packaging is straight to the point and shows you what you get

I like to see what I’m buying when I get carts. I love packages that are clear and show the amount I’m getting and what the merchandise looks like. The Kiara Quick Bliss Vape Pod comes in a small package with the cartridge exposed through a clear covering.

kiara cbd vape pods

There’s virtually no taste, which could be good or bad

You might be a little disappointed if you’re a taste connoisseur in vaping. The Kiara Quick Bliss Vape cart has a “natural flavor”, which basically means no flavor at all.

But, if you just care about the effect then the lack of flavor shouldn’t really matter to you. I personally liked that there isn’t much taste. It made me focus more on the effects, and how calmer I felt.

kiara cbd vape pod close

High potency, and a clean effect that helps ease anxious spells

You get 55% Full Spectrum CBD AKA 550mg packed into the cartridge. It’s a high potency that you’ll feel right away, which is a life-saver if you need anxiety, stress, or pain relief ASAP.

The CBD feels very clean and gives a seamless effect that is perfect for everyday use. I used it while working and didn’t feel sluggish. I was able to get through my day even with high-anxiety thanks to the calming effects of this vape.

kiara cbd vape pod box

Concluding this review

In conclusion, if you need more products at your dispensary or want to try the Kiara Quick Bliss Vape Pod I’d go for it. I don’t know what the price point is for this one, but if you’re interested in the Kiara Quick Bliss Pod you can sign up for an account on the website. I can say that this is one of the most high-quality CBD vape pens I’ve ever used, and it honestly helped my chronic anxiety.

Bonus Mention: It came with a Jupiter CCELL Palm Power Supply that was the smoothest vaping experience ever. I used it with a THC cart as well and I didn’t cough once, and I tend to be a cougher. If you haven’t tried one of these, I suggest you snag one.

Fake & Boof Cartridges Report 2023

1
gas-station-vapes-all-fake

It was the worst of years, it was the… worst of years. Well, not for fake cartridges, but the early 2020s so far are working out to be a major bummer between COVID, war, and the economy. Add this year – this month in fact: more viruses, and a nationwide record-setting blizzard to finish off 2022. Can we just arrange a sacrifice to whichever volcano god we ticked off and be done with it?

Anywho: The fake and boof vape cartridge market continued unabated in 2022, haunting gas station glass display cabinets and the front pocket of your corner plug’s hoodie. We have also come a long way from the days when fake cartridges (packaging bought online and filled in somebody’s basement) were all we have to worry about.

Star_Carts_political_cartoon

In Addition To Fake Carts, We Have Many More Unregulated Company Brands

The explosion in the popularity and legality of minor cannabinoids (like CBD, HHC, CBN, CBG, and deltas 8 & 10) has led to a legal, but highly unregulated, market in any product but straight THC. The problem here is that a company producing delta 8 is pretty much free of the rigorous testing and safety standard applied to a D9THC cart in California under the BCC. The altcan products are produced from “hemp” as legally defined in the Farm Bill, whoop de do.

There is even the occasional case of a brand with one foot in each market. Just this month (I assume Leafly will update the date header, which currently says “Story updated Dec. 8, 2023,” roughly a year in the future as of this publication), Kushy Punch out of California was caught operating a second, illicit facility off the books.

So, what’s our bottom line? We have to include “sketchy brands” in our “fake brands” list, which are nevertheless real as all earth. This also means that checking for a state licensed extraction facility and third-party independent lab testing is often worthless when judging most store-bought items; it’s only the full-marijuana plants in the fully-recreation-legal states that have that standard of requirements.

You are within rights, in most US state cases once you have a license to grow hemp, to extract all the cannabinoids you want from it and launch it to the moon for all government regulation cares. Every Joe-Blow vape&smoke shop across the country is carrying all kinds of random cannabis-related items, from edibles to bogus “natural medicine” to – of course – vape cartridges that are every shade of shady.

Naturally, the chaotic patchwork of legality from state to state is responsible for this situation. Maybe we’ll get with it and pass the laws to allow us to manage the cannabis industry (currently US volume ~$25 Billion) more responsibly over time.

The main thing you have to go by in cartridge brands now is reputation, end of story.

fake_WCC_raid

Former “Fake” Brands Are Being Bought & Licensed

This has happened already, to wit:

  • Big Chief
  • Muha Meds
  • Cake
  • Dank (!!!)

Yes, really! There’s a thing about fake brands: nobody owns them! So you, too, may file your ~$35 to register your LLC in Montana, say, and claim ownership of corporate branding. Isn’t American Capitalism a gas?

So again, just because a former fake brand now has a (TM) next to their name now, doesn’t make the street plug carts you buy with that branding any better.

If this is any consolation, your food, beverage, and medicine isn’t always up to the highest safety standards in the United States either. Everybody learns a lesson the hard way when they try a dodgy food item from the truck stop. You know how it goes, you’re late to work and had to stop for coffee anyway, so you gamble on a couple of those taquito/corndog dealies with the hot metal rollers at your corner Circle K, and half an hour later your south end regrets the decision. Come to that, you hear about product recalls on the news for various problems, especially with mass-produced food. Thus was formed what you may credit as “Penguin Pete’s Sushi Rule of Fake Cartridges”:

Never get a vape cartridge at a place where you wouldn’t also eat the sushi.

Heed the sushi rule! When it comes to vape cartridges, you still have a vial of mystery oil which may have been subject to mere slip-shod extraction and packaging methods, even at the best extraction facility using the finest ingredients in the world, let alone have boof oil.

Top Cartridges to Avoid in 2023:

jeeter juice cartride review

Jeeter Juice

Jeeter Juice is a licensed company in AZ, CA, and MI, but their product only appears at truck stops to begin with and then there’s more fakes out there than real ones. Their security and brand protection is crap. They violate packaging standards with impunity, with a bright candy-and-cartoon motif – they are super-common to find in schools. Garbage brand, even after we tested one from a legit source. Avoid it no matter where you find it.

Cake-DHGate

Cake

Cake is one of the brands we mention which began as Chinese counterfeit packaging wholesalers ripping off the Cookies logo. Then Cake became *THE* most common street brand for about a year, and now some company has actually bought up the rights to the name as far as registration goes, but the carts are still trash. Even if there is some mysterious pristine extraction facility bothering to produce a worthwhile product under the cursed “Cake” name, the odds are 99.99% that the Cake cart in your hand right now is fake.

fake jungle carts

Jungle Boys

A long time ago, Jungle Boys was a legit brand that has since gone out of business. Fake packagers have latched onto it ever since. We honestly saw them drop off the radar for a couple years, and now they’re back in black market circles, but nowhere to be found in legit dispensaries.

Cartnite

Cartnite is one of those brands that are blindly-obviously fake and yet people still buy them. Cartnites are 100% fake, boof sold only by corner plugs on Instagram. Same rule applies to any cartridge brand using the intellectual / branding property of a popular franchise.

Runtz

Runtz is another never-never land brand that never had an owner. There have been a few street brands which half-heartedly claimed co-branding for awhile. This was due to confusion, since Runtz is also a cannabis strain (and eventually everybody simply started naming their weed strains “Runtz” anyway). Regardless, Chinese packagers simply saw the word floating around online and snagged it for packaging. The Runtz branded-carts are nowhere near as common as they once were, but still crawl out of the woodwork.

fake dabwoods packaging

Dabwoods / Packwoods / DankWoods

Dabwoods has been a long-standing brand, albeit never more than gas station quality to begin with. Their brand protection is crap, and even when we tracked down a legit one, it was garbage quality. DabWoods is another case where counterfeits outnumber legit 99-to-1. The DabWoods branding has fractured, thanks to perpetuated fake cart packaging trends, into a dozen spin-off brand names including “DeepWoods,” “DankWoods,” etc. Just stay out of the ‘Woods in general.

Glo Carts

The amazing nowhere brand, Glo Carts has always been 100% ownerless and made up. Never had a company behind it, never will, but a smash success on fake cart packaging wholesale sites and Instagram plugs.

Laredo_Muha_Meds_bust

Muha Meds

Ah yes, the Mafia thugs! First, Muha Meds was a 100% fabricated brand. The name “Muha Meds” is a possible intended slur to the central figure of the Islam religion, in case you never put it together as “Muhammad.” THEN after a couple of years of that, one mad-as-a-March-hare American entrepreneur registered an LLC and tried to claim the brand. So far, their entire business model – as we have documented it – has been to send us nasty emails threatening us for saying they were ever fake, to begin with.

Those threats range from filing in court to extortion and threats of violence, which we duly report. We’re not even the only people they’ve harassed, in their fumbling ploy to whitewash Muha Meds’ past reputation. They do try to set up extraction facilities, but they get busted and taken down. To the alleged owner of the alleged Muha Meds brand: We’re sorry that you have such a hard time cornering the vape cartridge black market. That’s what happens when you make stupid business decisions.

Big Chief

Big Chief, another fake brand bought by a real sucker. There is, yes, a fledgling attempt at a legit Big Chief out there, but good luck finding it under the avalanche of counterfeits. This one seems to be gradually fading out, so it seems the one thing that can kill a fake brand is to get somebody to license it.

Counterfeits to watch out for:

We separate these because they were definitely established, licensed, trusted brands before the black market got wind of them. These are simply brands popular with black market channels to fill in bulk and try to pass off as the real McCoy.

Stiiizy

A long-standing brand, Stiiizy carts (pods, actually) that we have found from official sources are at least decent. Counterfeits are EVERYWHERE, however. We’re amazed at their perseverance, truth be told; brands with less grit would have collapsed under their own counterfeits by now.

Connected

An obscure brand barely making the list, but it stays present enough to warrant inclusion. There is a real Connected Cannabis Co. brand, though we have yet to discover a vape cartridge by their brand name. However, their simple blue palm tree logo seems to peek out of every other gas station vape cart shelf, and their packaging is widely counterfeited.

Plug & Play

A sad story, a legit brand which has been hounded by counterfeiters since day one. Plug & Play has tried to be proactive and introduced many an anti-counterfeit measure to combat the fakes, but the counterfeiters just keep copying them.

Mad Labs

The new kid on the block! There is indeed a real Mad Labs company. We haven’t even gotten around to reviewing them yet. But there is often little logic to the counterfeit cartridge scene, so this brand just got popular to counterfeit for no particular reason.

Conclusions…

We didn’t start the fire, and we certainly didn’t ask for this colossal dumpster fire of mis-regulation. Our site, in part, was founded in a spirit of consumer activism – we, ourselves, appreciate legalized cannabis but were frustrated with the lack of safety information and the paucity of non-biased review sources. So here’s to 2023, hopefully another happy, healthy year for the cannabis community as we continue to raise awareness and advocate for a safe and prosperous legalized cannabis industry for us all to enjoy.

Strain Snobs Delta 8 Cartridge | Overpriced Crap

BANNER-Strain-Snobs-delta-8-cart

Welcome to day 2 of Cartridge Week for Penguin Pete (that’s me). This week, the world’s least enthusiastic vape cartridge user gets to review five brands in five days. Today’s cart is a doozy – Strain Snobs. It’s a delta 8 with artificial, forced terpenes that doesn’t deliver much effect.

Pros:

  • Made by an actual company that apparently distributes this stuff to real dispensaries

Cons:

  • Crap packaging
  • No tests
  • No labeling for cannabinoids/terpenes
  • Crap taste
  • So-so effects

Recommendations: Clearly this product is aimed at the gas station / vape shop crowd and almost has no business being discussed on a cannabis products forum. Therefore, our only suggestion is “move out of the slums.”

Strain-Snobs-delta-8-cart-4

Strain Snobs: Disappointment from start to finish

They say “don’t judge a book by its cover,” but in the case of vape cartridges, the packaging is a very good tip-off to what you are getting. Doubly so with Strain Snobs, which looks so skeevy that even a Muha Meds would be embarrassed to be seen next to it. This logo looks like the lovechild of a leprechaun and the Hamburglar. The package is just heat-sealed clamshell plastic.

Dwell upon it:

Strain-Snobs-packaging-1

Strain-Snobs-packaging-2

The back doesn’t even bother filling the blank space with some helpful lab testing info or even promises about ingredients, just this logo that’s drawn to try to appeal to the Heavy Hitters crowd. This product is targeted at one market and one market only: In a Skid Row convenience store right between the crack pipes and the knock-off Viagra pills.

not-a-terpene

Cannabis oil does not taste like that!

Today’s strain is marked “Sour Diesel” just like yesterday’s cartridge from Delta 8 Factory, yet they could not taste more different. The Delta 8 Factory at least tasted consistent with other Sour Diesels I’ve tasted. This Strain Snobs cart tasted like lemon furniture polish with a mouthwash twist. It’s not only unappealing, but downright nasty, harsh, artificial, and punishing on the lungs.

Cartridge manufacturer’s note: I am really losing patience with these artificial, super-sweet candy flavors passed off as cannabis strains! Knock it off with the sugar diabetes marketing! Yes, there are a few cannabis strains with a mildly citrus flavor, a few more with a tangy taste. That doesn’t mean you squeeze 25 lemons into a cart and call it a day. This artificially sweet flavor is harsh on the lungs and the citric acid is choking.

Anyway: The oil in this cartridge even looks like lemon juice.

Strain-Snobs-delta-8-cart-3

Effects are barely there

It is delta 8, which is normally half the effects of THC, as you know from our altcan guide. I do certainly feel something, but it’s not the usual delta 8 “heady high with an energy boost.” It doesn’t feel couch-locky either. It’s just middle-of-the-road buzzy and relaxing, even a bit sedating. Just nowhere near as much fun as other cartridges I’ve tried.

The Price is INSANELY High!

Going by the prices where this cart is sold, I checked it out on PureCBDNow. The price there says “from $44.99” and by the time you select the 1-gram, the price goes to $54.99! Yesterday’s cartridge, the Delta 8 Factory one, was $60 and was way overpriced at that, despite having some attempt at making decent flavored oil. Strain Snobs has no business selling ANYTHING for $54.99! My God, the things you could get for that price – live resin for $40, 2 grams of great delta 8 dabs for $30, whole jars of flower – the list goes on!

Strain Snobs is an Insult to Cannabis

I am terribly sorry to be such a negative Nancy here. I don’t think this is a brand that cares what we consumers think, anyway. In a world we live in today, with so many cartridges to choose from, Strain Snobs belongs right at the bottom of the pile. There’s at least 999 cartridges you should try out there that are cheaper and higher quality than Strain Snobs.

The company that claims credit for Strain Snobs is Active CBD Oil. They apparently distribute products nationwide, including at 5 Colorado dispensaries, but my guess is that’s their own house brand (Active CBD Oil itself) while the Strain Snobs are shipped out to truck stops in Michigan. Find it here, if you dare.

Pure CBD Vapors CBD Vape Kit Review – Calming and Tasty

pure cbd cart review

Today I got a few carts from PURE CBD along with a rechargeable battery. I found the packaging to be easy to open and the cart was easy to put on the battery. I did need to charge the battery for about 2 hours before using it for the first time as it came without a charge. A cord was provided for this, but the user needs to have an adaptor to put it to power. I think the company should note that, so folks are aware if it is the first time they order this product in the mail. Its sleek and stylish look made me want to carry it everywhere I went, as a  matter of fact, I took it to the Fairwell Elton John Concert in Las Vegas and everyone was asking to use it again and again, a popular night out.

Pros:

  • Stylish design
  • Great taste and smell
  • Calming effect, paired nicely with flower with THC

Cons:

  • No flavor is stated on the packaging, not sure I got what I ordered
  • No plug for the charger and no notice one is needed
  • Missing my love, THC

What a great surprise this was! For a CBD

I have to admit, for the most part, I’m not one to turn to CBD and this is perhaps why I’m asked to review it. In my many many years of flower consumption, I had not seen the point in it. Then one day a great bud tender at a local dispensary suggested some for my nausea. I’d had it on going for 3 days and nothing else was helping. I got a pre-roll and sure thing it helped. So since then, I’ve kept open-minded about giving it a try and PURE CBD has me thinking.

pure cbd cart

The taste was great

I love the taste of this cart, it was great. Not sweet and not perfumery, just right someplace in the middle. And Smooth to hit, I never once coughed or had a tight chest I sometimes do with a lot of other  carts on the market, so there must be something about that all-natural process that talks about, because I’ll  say it one more time, it was a great flavor (not that I’m sure what it was.)

pure cbd cart box

Length they lasted me

I received two carts 5 days ago and I’m still not ½ way thru the second one. I have to say that the battery in this pack is great too. 6 folks hit it in a 3-hour concert and it was as strong at the end of the night as it was from the start. I’m sure I’ll have that battery long after the carts are gone.

Will I be using this brand again soon?

I feel that I am going to pick up some of the other carts they sell just to see what I think of all of the products they carry. Will I give up my flower for this product? No, but it’s nice to go with flower and for that and the taste(said it again), I’ll have a few on hand just to make the bad flower better. I’m also going to carry it into more stressful situations as I did feel calm with use without flower, I liked that feeling a lot and hope it works in stressful situations.

Delta 8 Factory D10 Cartridge | Overpriced, Underwhelming

BANNER-delta-8-factory-D10-cart-60-dollars

Greeting! Not “greetings,” I only have one to give today. I’m going to be vaping cartridges all week, and I’m definitely the least enthusiastic cartridge reviewer on the web. Be prepared for a whole week of low-energy reviews as I puff through a box of 510-threaded mystery oils.

Today’s cartridge: Delta 8 Factory, delta 10 Sour Diesel 1ml (1 gram) cartridge.

Pros:

  • Deep tasting terpenes
  • Full spectrum
  • Decent effects

Cons:

  • $60 for a vape cartridge???
  • SERIOUSLY! SIXTY DOLLARS???
  • The cartridge is some non-standard design that won’t fit most batteries, but still 510-threaded

Recommendations: Please publish a book called “how to get people to pay $60 for a mediocre cartridge” because that is your true business calling.

delta-8-factory-delta-10-cart1

This is not what I expect from a $60 cart

To start with, the price as listed on PureCBDNow is $60. That’s a 1ml cartridge, equal to a gram cart. I just price-checked to double-check (is inflation really THAT bad?), and several name brands offer a delta 10 1G cart for ~$30 or so. So I have no idea where they get away with this outrageous price.

The price is the injury; now let’s talk about the insults.

Look at this packaging. LOOK AT IT!

delta-8-factory-delta-10-cart2

delta-8-factory-delta-10-cart3

The sketchiest cartridge brands we find on DHGate look better than this. This package design is a nightmare collage of fonts, almost hiding the brand name, with that pukey icon to represent “Sour Diesel” which doesn’t even match the same position on the packaging on the site. The back is a condescending lecture to me about the miracles of delta 10 and no lab stats. No percentage of cannabinoids, nothing.

Next, the hardware is nonstandard

The cartridge has a short, squat, fat build to it. I have no idea what the purpose of this is, but you can forget using it with any socket-style battery like the PCKT Two or the CCELL Rizo or the Doteco TargetX. When a cartridge makes me dig through my pile of batteries in frustration before finding something that will half-work, that’s a bad design. I finally did use it with my TribeTokes Saber, although the nonstandard size prevents it from folding in with the Saber’s signature switchblade action.

Compare to a normal 510-threaded cart:

delta-8-factory-delta-10-cart4

Now for the important part: the oil itself.

The Oil is Actually Pretty Decent

I definitely taste the “full spectrum” of Sour Diesel terpenes alright. It does taste exactly like a strain high in caryophyllene. It has a rich, spicy aroma and a thick, earthy, gassy taste, almost like a good dark green leafy salad. In fact, I notice more than once that Sour Diesel hits me with a taste mildly redolent of spinach, Brussels sprouts, or kale. But in a good way? This cart has that, but maybe the veggie taste suggests some chlorophyll made it into the mix.

The effects are indeed potent enough that I’d say this oil has to be at least 90% delta 10. Delta 10 hits me heavier than its isomer cousins, with a definite couch-lock effect. I found this cartridge to have the effects of calming, soothing, and sedating, but not conductive to getting work done for the rest of the day. This cart feels like it would go good with a streaming binge of a TV series.

If this were a $40 cartridge, I’d say the oil is “good,” but at the $60 price, “pretty decent” is not where you want to be! This is a shame because they nailed a good flavor that isn’t too harsh on delta 10. But still, I’ve had $30 carts that were just as good if not better. For instance, the Verano Travelers I had back on last 4/20 blows this away, and it’s a disposable pen for $40.

Delta 8 Factory’s D10 cartridge is Not a Good Buy

I just do not see the point of recommending this one. Delta 8 Factory’s quality standards are just abysmal, and while the oil quality is satisfactory, it sure is not $60 oil. There are 1-gram live resin cartridges out there for $40. all day. If Delta 8 Factory wants people to pay $60 per cart, they’re going to have to seriously get their act together.

Join us all week for my week of cartridge reviews. I see some better ones coming up at the end of the week.

Alpine Live Resin HHC Cartridge Review – Solid Carts

alpine carts review

I got the chance to try a few vape cartridges from Alpine. Both were 1G HHC Sativa carts that fit a standard 510 threaded battery. I tried the Orange Cookies and Strawberry Coolada flavors.

Pros:

  • Good taste

Cons:

  •  Feels like not much more than a standard THC cart

Recommendations: None

alpine live resin carts

Decent flavor

Just based on appearance I was excited to try these as the colors made me think this was going to taste really good. While the Orange Cookies were my favorite the Strawberry Colada was still pretty good in this department. I would rate the two flavors 9 and 7 out of 10 respectively.

Standard potency

I’m not gonna lie in terms of potency the Alpine carts were pretty standard. They didn’t feel extra in any way it was just alright. Although not really have a comment against it I just feel like there isn’t too much special to comment on in this department. I have not yet caught on to a pattern of how I respond to different terpenes and cannabinoids. I don’t know if it’s HHC or if this is specifically a Hemp derived product. I am going to note this and come back to the idea the next time I try a product that falls into either of those categories.

alpine cart orange

Very smooth

One thing I did like about the Alpine carts is how smooth they are. The smoothness of each hit combined with the great flavor makes it feel like I’m taking hits of rainbow sherbet. It led to me actually using these two carts pretty quickly. Which I guess leads me to the next point, once you really feel it, the high doesn’t last so long. So I went through these two grams pretty quickly.

Decent value

In terms of value, I think I would put this at a 7 out of 10. These carts are very reasonably priced for under $40 which depending on which part of Los Angeles you’re in may be nearly impossible to find in the store. However, once you start to look online this is a pretty normal price for the amount and strength.

alpine cart strawberry

Concluding this review

In conclusion, the Alpine cartridges are pretty good. They definitely provide solid value coming in just below $40 for the gram cartridge with a great taste for both the Orange Cookies and Strawberry Coolada. I do wish that the cartridges provided a bit of a more intense high. The one thing I did particularly like about these carts is how well they seem to help my anxiety regardless of being a Sativa.

I generally find that Sativas either have no or very little effect on my anxiety. I had a pretty stressful and full week working various different jobs and traveling to different parts of LA, which as someone with intense social anxiety can be difficult at times but I think the Alpine Carts helped me stay as calm as possible while not giving me the groggy feeling you might get from an Indica.

CBD Vape Juice: Uses and Applications

e-cigarette

Editors note: This is a guest post, and does not reflect general staff opinion.

e-cigarette
source

As a consequence of its legalization in many countries worldwide, a growing number of individuals have begun to use Cannabidiol (CBD) products such as CBD gummies UK. CBD may be ingested or vaped in a variety of ways. You need to use vape oil, popular as CBD e-liquid or CBD vape juice. First, the juice is processed and diluted with a carrier liquid in a vape pen.

The main three vape juice ingredients are propylene glycol or PG, vegetable glycerin or VG, different flavorings, and CBD extract. It can have three types depending on the terpenes, waxes, amount of CBD, and flavonoids, such as broad-spectrum vape juice, whole plant CBD liquid, and Isolate CBD vape juice.

At various online vape sites and shops, you will come across a wide range of cartridges, colorful pods, and bottles filled with flavored vape juice or e-liquid. Vape juice is used in e-cigarettes and vaping rigs that create an aerosol inhaled by the user. Because of its immediate effect, CBD vape juice can help avoid migraines, give instant pain relief, and even lessen public speaking anxiety.

So, on that note, let us know about some uses of CBD vape juice.

CBD Vape Juice Might be Helpful for Anxiety and Insomnia

Insomnia and anxiety are the two most common problems individuals face worldwide. According to a report published by the American Sleep Association, almost 70% of the people only in the US have insomnia. And nearly 40 million adults have anxiety issues. The good news is that CBD vape oil can help people with insomnia because of its sleep-inducing properties. But make sure to buy it from reputed stores to ensure its pure form.

A study of 2019 has shown that almost 67% of the participants reported better sleep and less anxiety after using CBD vape juice for a few days. CBD vape juice also possesses anxiolytic, antidepressant properties and mood-regulating effects that may also aid people suffering from OCD, depression, and PTSD. When you vape, CBD reacts with the brain’s serotonin receptors and reduces its levels to get rid of stress and anxiety.

It Can Have Neuro-Protective and Anti-Oxidative Effects

CBD vape oil is known to have neuroprotective and antioxidant properties, which can effectively treat many oxidative neurological illnesses, like Parkinson’s disease and cerebral ischemia. It can quickly react with different signaling and endocannabinoid systems of the brain to treat neurological disorders.

About 220 people with epilepsy took part in a study where researchers gave them CBD vape juice of 0.9 gm – 2.3 gm depending on their body weight. After a few months, they reported a decrease of almost 36% in their seizures. Thus, people with epilepsy or Parkinson’s diseases can vape VBD juice, but only after expert consultation.

You Can Use CBD Vape Juice to Treat Diabetes

Diabetes is a massive problem in the US, where almost 30 million people have Type 2 diabetes. This can lead to blurry vision, persistent inflammation, insulin resistance, and other health issues. CBD’s anti-inflammatory qualities may be helpful in the treatment of type 2 diabetes by improving metabolism and eliminating inflammation. It is believed that CBD’s activities in the body might be tweaked to function on different receptors. The molecule could treat various exacerbated or cause by chronic inflammation.

It Might Help You Quit Smoking

As you all know, smoking is quite harmful to health, and it is pretty hard to quit it, mainly if you have been smoking for a long time. But not anymore, as CBD vape juice might be the solution you have been looking for till now. Being free of tobacco, vape juice provides you the same feeling of smoking, without its harmful effects. Moreover, you can get rid of nicotine addiction by choosing the nicotine-free vape juices offered by most brands. CBD vape juice is relatively cheaper, comes in different flavors like tobacco, candy, chocolate, coffee

CBD Vape Juice Might Give Fast Onset of Effects

Unlike any other method, inhaling CBD vape juice gives the quickest benefits. Inhaling chemicals through your lungs helps them enter the bloodstream swiftly and notice the results within five minutes. This is especially beneficial for persons who need immediate respite from stress or discomfort.

You Can Vape on the Go

Some CBD intake techniques are not suitable for usage while away from home. Some people, for example, may prefer to avoid using topical CBD or CBD oils when out, owing to the potential for unwanted attention from others. On the other hand, CBD vaping will not draw any special attention because it neither leaves any bad odor nor creates huge vapor. However, double-check if vaping CBD is legal in your location before opting for it. And many countries have fixed a particular zone for vaping. So, make sure to vape only there.

Final Thoughts

And there you have it: seven uses and applications of CBD vape juice. Even if you don’t vape already, you could try CBD vaping. After all, the act is simple in and of itself, especially if you opt for a pre-filled vape device. It also allows you to take some time for yourself, which is ideal for combatting stress and anxiety. But, the dose of vape juice depends on your age, body weight, physical conditions, etc. Thus, consulting a vaping expert and cannabis expert is mandatory before using it.

PUF THC Cartridge Review – Good Price and Taste

puf cart review

I recently came across the chance to try a few PUF cartridges, one Indica (Critical Cure) and one Sativa (Strawberry Cough). I picked them up at a local dispensary. Best yet, they were on sale for $15.00 each!

Pros:

  • Good price
  • Smooth taste
  • Easy to assemble

Cons:

  • It made me cough more than normal
  • Plastic packing is not easy to open
  • Slightly burnt taste only ½ way thru

Recommendations: None

puf carts

Good price

From a price point of view, this cartridge is a good value. The THC was at 86% (both) so I gave each vape one drag, on two different days, to see how the high was on each day. Both provided a lovely feeling within moments of that puff or PUF, if you will. Being more of an Indica person, I gravitated towards that one, and I found that 3 pulls in 5 min were good for about 3 hours of a nice high. Nice head high, feeling light and time passed fast (as a rule I set timers.) As a regular cannabis user, I find that some products make me go back again and again as the high wears off quickly. So, the value is lost in over. all use. However, I found this inexpensive vape cartridge to be of great value.

puf cart cc

The taste of each cartridge was different indeed

The Indica (Critical Cure) had a subtle sweet taste with a hint of Limonene mixed with a hint of pepper which is from the caryophyllene. The aftertaste was more of mediacies taste to it which was not unpleasant. I would get this cartridge again if it’s available. Best value for me!  Real nice head high. I’ll be looking for this one again and may even stock up and get a few.

puf cart strawberry

The Sativa (Strawberry Cough) did just that, made me cough after every pull. Small pull, 5 min of coughing. Big pull, 20 min of coughing. Okay so I exaggerate a little, but sure felt that way. The high from this one however was euphoric, with a hint of positivity. It was also long-lasting and pleasant, no paranoia here. A little ruff for my lungs, but I’ll have this one for a while.   So, the name is more of a warning. Now I don’t mind a cough, usually, if something makes me cough, I back down my pull, this however made no difference. The taste of this one surely had a fruity berry taste. Sweet indeed, I liked it a lot. As for any aftertaste, I’m not sure as it was gone well before I’d stopped coughing. The buzz was as expected and did last a few hours before needing another 3 pulls. But those 3 pulls took me an hour of my day (coughing in between.) I’ll not be picking this one up again.

puf cart cc details

Length they lasted me

As I smoke/vape all day every day, for this product I set everything else aside to see how long 2 vape cartridges would last me. I found that after the first 24 hours I was about ½ way on the Indica and barely touched the Sativa. Three days in and the Indica was gone and the Sativa was ½ was gone. The cough factor actually made me slow down my usage for the next two days. So, after 5 days of use, I’d run out and felt that for the money spent, great value indeed!

puf cart strawberry details

Replace flower for me?

As a person who has used cannabis for some time now, I’d like to say that none of the vape cartridges are great for the environment. I try to keep my personal usage to more flower as it’s the most familiar, sustainable, and versatile. That said, as I live blocks away from Freemont Street in Las Vegas, smoke is not the best way to go, so I’ll take a vape with me to walk the streets and feel safe that I’m not drawing the wrong kind of attention to myself. In conclusion, I’d get this brand again.

PCKT Two Cartridge Battery System : Top-Tier Vaping

Cartridge batteries: You’ve seen them big and small, cheap and expensive, simple and complex. But you haven’t seen it all until you’ve seen the PCKT Two system, which is both a bit pricier but also an upgrade to the whole vape cartridge experience.

This device has some extended features and tweaks, so the video makes things much clearer when you see the device in action.

Pros:

  • Sleek and attractive design
  • Good instruction manual
  • Versatile (when including peripherals)
  • Customizable
  • Good performance
  • Extends into a refillable cartridge system
  • Great packaging

Cons:

  • Found a cartridge it won’t work with? (might also be the cart)
  • Instructions could be a bit more detailed

Recommendations: Maybe check the compatibility with those cartridges?

PCKT_1
PCKT_2

The PCKT Two is Advanced Vaping

While pricier than your average vape battery at $79.95, the PCKT has a lot to recommend it. It’s a solid-well-thought-out design. The PCKT is an enclosed vape cartridge system where you thread on an adapter for a magnetic connection.

PCKT_3

The base battery comes with:

  • the battery itself
  • USB charger
  • two threaded adapters (one each for gram and 0.5-gram cart sizes)

In addition, PCKT offers a full line of refillable cartridge blanks, for those of you who process your own oil. They have other peripherals too, such as the “Extendo” adapter which puts the cartridge all the way out where you can see the oil.

PCKT_9

PCKT_7

PCKT_8

I know most of you could care less about the packaging, BUT – We’re here to encourage good practice within the industry, so I must compliment the sturdy and innovative triangle box design which protects the unit from damage during shipping, printed out with the colorful instructions.

But now for the features and requisite controls:

  • 5x – turn on / off
  • 4x – set haptic feedback
  • 3x – set LED brightness
  • 2x – set power modes (voltage levels)
  • 1x – check battery charge

In the case of setting haptic feedback, LED brightness, and temperature, the system works the same: You activate that mode, then single-click to cycle through the settings, then long-click-hold to finalize that setting. The voltages are:

  • Cyan – 2.43 V
  • Blue – 2.73 V
  • Orange – 3.09 V
  • Red – 3.54 V
  • Purple – 3.84 V

Finally, the PCKT Two has two usage modes: Hold the button for manual fire or draw-on-demand. According to the packaging, not all cartridges will work with the draw-on-demand feature.

PCKT_6
Good Quality Performance

I rarely find much to complain about when it comes to drawing on a vape, anyway, since these days the fundamental design problems seem pretty ironed out. But it bears mentioning that the PCKT Two gave me thick vapor clouds and brought out every nuance of flavor and effects in the cartridges I have tried. These days I tend to go for the lower voltage settings, and the PCKT Two performs here as well. Even at the lowest setting, the unit draws perfectly. You get a good, solid puff every time. The PCKT Two brings its A-game for the serious cartridge user.

I Found a Cartridge That Won’t Work?

The PCKT Two works with both bottom and top airflow cartridge designs. The trouble with that is, I’m not always sure which cartridges have top or bottom airflow and it’s not like all cartridge packagers are studious in telling you.

So I have found one feisty cartridge which won’t work with the PCKT battery but will work with other batteries I have lying around. It’s a URB Finest Flowers live resin 1 gram. To be fair, it is a non-standard cartridge design with a plastic tube mouthpiece, but it still has 510 threading. When I try to use it with the PCKT, with any adapter, trying to use it makes the button light up and the haptic feedback buzz, signifying that there’s no cartridge detected. The unit does the same thing if you try to fire it empty.

I’m going to mark this up to a quirk, probably the cart’s error. But readers, please do let us know what cartridge/battery combos you have found that are incompatible!

PCKT_4
PCKT_5

The PCKT Two is Luxury Vaping

I can’t speak to the refillable cartridges because I don’t fill my own carts. Considering the steady stream of products I have to review, that would be like baking my own fruitcake when I get bombarded with them every Christmas. But the cartridge blanks they sent along do appear to be sturdy and solid in build, and only a few dollars each.

The PCKT Two is compact and discreet, fitting snugly in the palm. It’s easily portable, albeit you’d want the whole cart + adapter ready to go. The magnet and adapters are secure enough that the cartridge stays seated even when shaken upside-down. With the exception of the glitch with the URB Finest Flowers cartridge, I couldn’t find any flaws.

I will say though that the PCKT Two may not suit those who prefer simpler, no-frills vaping. There are plenty of less feature-filled vapes on the market. The price tag, nearly $80, might be a bit much for the budget user and the features may feel like overkill. Setting the haptic and LED level is nice, but let’s face it, you will likely set each of these settings once and then forget they are there.

For me, the PCKT Two looks like it will be my go-to vape cartridge battery for a while. Let’s see how it does long-term in the performance department! Find the PCKT Two here.

When enhancing your CBD vaping experience, having a reliable vape pen or device is essential to achieve safe and desirable results. About 13% of the US population prefers to take up CBD through vaping, which means that CBD is necessary to ensure that your device is reputable, updated, and has a powerful battery for best usage.

The 510 thread cartridge batteries for vaping devices are durable and highly effective for long-term use. These are utilities that are compatible with various devices and suitable for different user needs. For better insight, here’s a look at ways a CBD 510-thread battery can enhance your vaping experience.

girl vaping

5 Ways 510 Thread Batteries Can Improve Your Vaping Experience

  1. Longevity: One of the best advantages of a 510-thread battery is its longevity to your vape device. Most of these come within a range of 250 mAh to 850 mAh, along with USB recharging, making them convenient to use for a significant time. A single charge will give you a substantial number of hours for using it, allowing you to use the potential of a single battery effectively.
  2. Variable settings: 510-thread batteries come with variable voltage settings that are beneficial for use in devices with controlled heating. The variance in voltage gives more control to users rather than using devices or batteries that are fixed at a single setting. It allows users to heat their cannabis elements safely and steadily to their desired levels.
  3. Preheating capabilities: 510 batteries also allow users to preheat their elements to achieve a smooth and effective vape experience. You can choose to heat your device before vaping, and the battery’s controlled heat settings give you the best temperatures for your vaping needs.
  4. Device diversity: Another benefit of a 510-thread battery is that they come in compatible forms for differently shaped vape devices. So no matter which vapes pen or device you use, it will be possible to find a 510 battery to use along with it. This diversity makes it possible for all vape device users to achieve longevity with their products.
  5. Portable: 510 batteries are also portable, making them easy to carry wherever you need them. If you’re someone who travels frequently, it is quite advantageous to use 510 batteries for your vape devices.

What to Consider When Choosing a Vape Device?

  1. Reputable: It is necessary to check if the device has all essential parts and if a reputable brand makes it. Consider checking online reviews of the brand and its products or talking to people you know about it.
  2. Durability: Checking if the device is prone to damage or is long-lasting. This information will help you choose the most suitable vaping device for enhanced and effective experiences.
  3. Beginner-friendly: If you’re new to vaping and are looking for the perfect device, it is necessary to consider if a device is user-friendly or not. Is it relatively simple to use, or does it come with a complex setting? These are factors that can help you choose the most appropriate device.
  4. CBD vs. E-cigs: People often think these are interchangeable, but they are not. There is even a misconception about CBD being the same as marijuana and about 26% of the population believes so. But it is necessary to note that one is built for only CBD components, while the other is for e-juices. Make sure you choose the appropriate device when purchasing one for your needs.

5 Best 510 Thread Batteries for Your Vape Device

  1. TribeTokes TribeMINI: It is suitable for cartridge vape devices and provides optimal power levels at 3.2V. It is compact and even notifies users when they have completed vaping a single dose. It is a handy utility for long-lasting use and smooth vape experiences.
  2. Openvape 510 variable battery: It comes with four different voltage settings that allow users to have more control over temperatures and their overall vaping experience. It also helps to enhance the flavors of cartridges in the vape pens, which is helpful to those who may not prefer the harsh taste of CBD but still desire a smooth experience.
  3. Pulsar Mobi: It is a pocket-friendly and compact-sized battery perfect for portable uses. It has voltage settings up to 4.2V, giving users higher control over their desired temperatures. A single charge lasts a substantial time and is an excellent battery for long-lasting use.
  4. TribeTokes Saber: Its voltage settings go up to 4.8V and it also comes with a 650 mAh power range that provides for effective and long-lasting use. There is a simple button for controlling these settings, which makes it convenient for beginners to use.
  5. Vessel Compass: It is a sleek and powerful tool with a few voltage settings for better control of vaping temperatures. Its look gives you a premium feel, but it is easy to use and has a long-lasting life. Its compact size makes it easy to carry around while traveling and lets you store it conveniently.

Endnote

CBD Vaping is an experience that requires reliable and efficient devices. A 510-thread battery provides long-lasting and effective experiences to users. It allows people to have better control over their intake and also enhances the effects one desires to achieve. When purchasing a new vape device, make sure that his battery is included with it.

Awesome design and functionality

The design and functionality are the best I’ve used.  Click the power button twice and it lights up and changes colors until it lands on green in a  second or two – ready! The plastic cap to protect the mouthpiece fits perfectly. I don’t have to worry about it falling off in my bag. The sleek design is fabulous. It fits in my hand perfectly. It fits in my pocket better than the long pen models I had. And no more of those awful moments when you drop the pen and then sheepish look down to see if your expensive, glass cartridge has shattered on the floor. This handy, plastic disposable vape battery and the cartridge is a winner.

Fruity flavor

The flavor is fruity but not too much so. It had a little of mango or tropical fruit vibe to it – pleasant, mild, and with no after-taste. It also is good to go in public because of the fruity smell. Most importantly, it pulls very smoothly – no gagging or coughing jags.

Mimosa jams all the way

As far as the buzz – quite delightful – exactly what I was looking for. I recently had tried a three-pack of different vape cartridges from a local dispensary and didn’t really fall in love with any of them.  Mimosa is my jam.

Affordable price

I looked up the price to see if it was something I could afford to enjoy regularly. Their base price ($44.99) was on point and the product was on sale for 50% off. Very affordable. I will be ordering more. Can’t say enough.

I love this product. I highly recommend it!

Boundless CFC Lite : Very Economical Vape

Boundless-CFC-Lite-review

We’re going to be trying out several products by Boundless, specifically their hardware. Boundless makes what you and I would call “cannabis vaporizers,” but what they are currently referring to as “herbal aromatherapy devices.” There’s something back there about the randomly applied federal mail vape ban and its complete SNAFU of implementation – some vendors closed shop, some applied for the badly backlogged exception status, and some companies simply switched to saying, “hey, we only sell aromatherapy devices!” Who said anything about vapes?

So… we will be enjoying some therapeutic aromatherapy with our favorite herb.

Pros:

  • Very affordable
  • Replaceable battery
  • Compact and discreet
  • Comfortable grip
  • Comprehensive manual

Cons:

  • Decent airflow but not the tops
  • The mouthpiece gets very hot

Recommendations: Extended mouthpiece / accessories to guard against overheating

CFCLite-2

The Boundless CFC Lite is a Minimalist Vaporizer

When it comes to stand-alone dry herb vapes, this is among the most compact designs we’ve ever seen. We’ve seen smaller cartridge batteries, but not a smaller vaporizer. The Boundless CFC Lite has an efficient, minimalist design, weighing a little over 9 ounces. But maybe it has a few kinks to work out before calling it a perfect design.

Unpacking to First Hit:

First you unscrew the bottom lid to access the battery chamber and insert the provided battery, positive side inward. Secure the cap on the bottom and pop off the mouthpiece at the top, revealing a small ceramic chamber. As the instructions recommend, pack this chamber with 0.4 grams of your finely ground herb.

Then it takes 5 clicks of the button to turn it on. The LED will blink while it is heating up and go steady when it’s at full temperature, along with a haptic vibration. Pressing and holding the button for a second switches to cycle through the temperature settings. The temps are:

  • blue: 385°F
  • green: 403°F
  • red: 421°F

After that, it’s in “inhale on demand” mode. There is no auto-off time-out that I can find, so leaving the unit turned on and loaded is not advised. The middle setting provides the best heat balance that I’ve tried for vaping dry herb.

The unit is padded with a rubber lined grip coating, very easy to handle. The Boundless CFC Lite has many strong points.

CFCLite-3

The Mouthpiece is the Only Issue

The mouthpiece to the CFC Lite is a blunt bit of plastic with passable, but restricted, airflow. The chief issue here is that it heats up. Since the heating element + herb chamber is right there at the top, it stands to reason that some heat would transfer to the mouthpiece. This doesn’t quite get you into “hot lips” territory, but at high settings for too long it starts getting uncomfortable.

With that said, this unit is almost a sneak-a-toke, designed for short sessions where heating up won’t be a major issue. But it would still get some mileage out of improvements to the mouthpiece.

CFCLite-4

An Economical No-Frills Vape

The CFC Lite currently sells on the site for a mere $64.99. This casts the rest of this review in a new light, because that is the cheapest dry herb vape I have seen yet and possibly the cheapest anywhere. So if you’re a budget-conscious vaper, this is the unit for you!

On the whole, I’m moderately impressed. There are more expensive cartridge batteries out there, and the CFC Lite does its job without much fuss. The replaceable battery makes this even more of a bargain; when the battery gives out, you can just buy a replacement battery and keep the unit for further service. The mouthpiece issue is certainly an easy enough fix, but even there the CFC Lite is still enjoyable.

Readers, what are your thoughts on the CFC Lite and Boundless – ahem – aromatherapy devices? Share your vibes in the comments below or in our vape-clouded forum.

FarmaceuticalRX Vape Cart Review – Decent Price and Flavor

farmaceuticair review

Today for our vaping session, we will be trying out FarmaceuticalRX Peach Cobbler Vape Cart. I think these carts are okay, being pretty good.  The subtle sweet peach flavor is pleasant, but not amazing.  I mostly buy Cannabis products based on price and what’s on sale, so factoring in the affordability, this was right up my alley.

Pros:

  • Good Flavor
  • Decent Price
  • The inconspicuous aroma makes this a great “on-the-go” option.

Cons:

  • Mystery brand vape cart hardware

Recommendations: Some hardware clarification would be much appreciated.

farmaceuticair cart

Ingredients: Distillate + Botanical Terpenes

I can’t find where I saw it now, but I’m pretty sure that this FarmaceuticalRX cart contains distillate cannabinoids and botanical terpenes.  This is generally less preferred to Cannabis-derived terpenes or single-strain full spectrum options like rosin.  I like that there are more options in the medical cannabis market here.

farmaceuticair cart details

Who would enjoy this?

These distillate FarmaceuticalRX vape pens are great for anyone looking for a convenient, easy-to-use, inconspicuous medical Cannabis vape here in Ohio, and not so concerned with the flavor.  Maybe I just got a bad one, or that strain isn’t up to my alley.

Decent effects!

The flavor isn’t bad in this one, and I haven’t been disappointed with the effects.  The main terpenes listed on the package are Limonene, Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Linalool.  These terpenes are pretty common in hybrid strains.  I recognized Limonene is the terpene responsible for the citrus flavor and aroma of Limonene.   Caryophyllene is the compound found in black pepper, basil, and oregano, with a funky warmth similar to cinnamon and cloves.  Linalool is the terpene found in Lavender.

Mystery cartridge hardware

Unfortunately, this cart has no branding or labeling on it whatsoever.

Similar Cannabis products for comparison:

I have had a few different brands of medical Cannabis vape carts so far, here in Ohio.  It can be difficult for a brand to stand out.  I cannot tell a difference between the distillate carts that use Cannabis-derived terpenes, and the ones that use botanical terpenes.  I do see that it’s a positive thing for them to use Cannabis-derived terpenes, though.

I’m honestly not sure if this cart counts as broad-spectrum or full-spectrum, but if you feel like you don’t get the desired effects from any Broad Spectrum carts, then I know that the Firelands Scientific live hash rosin carts, Grow Ohio, or Klutch CO2 oil Luster Pods or Buckeye Relief Airopro Airo Pods Live resin series or Standard Wellness live resin sauce carts would probably be your best bet because those are full spectrum.  The Airo Pods are my favorite Cannabis vape option so far.

Concluding our review

The flavor is subtle but not pleasant in my opinion, but the effects seem decent.  This cart is acceptable as far as being an inconspicuous, daytime vape option.  I really don’t know if I will try another FarmaceuticalRX brand cart in the future, but only time will tell.

Ayr Wellness Vape Cart Review – Decently Priced but Not That Tasty

ayr wellness cart review

Today we will take a look at Ayr Wellness Vape Cart. I think these carts are okay for someone that is on a tighter budget.  I mostly buy Cannabis products based on price and what’s on sale, so this was right up my alley.  The flavor is the biggest problem for me here.  It’s kind of sweet, but mostly just gross.

Pros:

  • The gold standard for High-quality vape carts CCELL hardware
  • Decent price
  • The inconspicuous aroma makes this a great “on the go” option.

Cons:

  • I really don’t like the flavor

Recommendations: The taste needs some improvement

EDITOR’S NOTE: We frequently note the taste quality difference in botanical vs. cannabis-derived terpenes, and discuss it some more in our terpenes glossary entry.

Decent effects!

Despite not liking the flavor, I haven’t been disappointed with the effects.  The main terpenes listed on the package are Limonene, Caryophyllene, Myrcene, and Linalool.  I recognized Limonene is the terpene responsible for the citrus flavor and aroma for Limonene.   Caryophyllene is the compound found in black pepper, basil, and oregano, with a funky warmth similar to cinnamon and cloves.  Linalool is the terpene found in Lavender.

The total terpene content is low, so the flavor is more subtle with this cart than other cannabis vapes; hence the flavor is a little underwhelming in my opinion.  However, this would be a great option for times that you need to be discrete, and not leave a room smelling like a skunk just died in it, just from your live resin or live rosin SHO vape cart.

High-quality cartridge hardware, specifically designed for Cannabis oils

The vape pen hardware is made by Jupiter CCELL, and they are the gold standard.  These CCELL cartridges contain a CCELL Ceramic Core and are made from non-toxic, inert, lead-free materials, including durable, borosilicate glass.

Cake Vape Carts : Are They All Fake?

12

Here at Dab Connection, we try to leave no stone unturned when it comes to investigating cannabis product brands, in the interest of informing the public. However, sometimes the more we investigate, the more questions that turn up. We’re going to tell you everything we know about Cake vapes and let you readers decide the verdict. Right now, this investigation is anything but a cakewalk.

We know there are fake Cake vapes out there

Most readers will want to know: can I trust Cake vapes? And we’ll have to answer that question with: Not always! We see plenty of counterfeit Cake cartridge packaging for sale at the usual suspects, DHGate, CartsPackaging, and Made-in-China.

Cake-DHGate

Cake-cartsPackaging

Cake-made-in-China

So that much is clear. That is incontrovertible evidence that there are fake Cake carts hitting the streets. We’re still fuzzy on the nature of any actual company behind this brand, but we can conclude with 100% certainty that it is at least frequently counterfeited. This means that you should not trust Cake brand carts from a plug, or from sketchy retail offerings such as gas stations and vape shops in unlicensed states.

Cake-Reddit-inquiries

In addition, we see that Cake cartridges have aroused plenty of suspicion when they find their way into the public’s hands. On our /fakecarts forum on Reddit, questions come in about this brand all the time. And of course, we find no end of sketchy third-party websites hawking Cake vapes.

Here’s a rare occurrence: Another cannabis site has also called Cake a risky brand. DailyCBD ranks Cake as a likely “scam company,” saying:

> “While it’s possible some Cake products are legit, there are too many fake products on the market for this to be considered a safe brand to buy. You can essentially roll the dice on what’s going to be inside these carts.”

They did some legwork and found no actual company website, and all the usual markers of a ghost company. HOWEVER, stay tuned because this story has more twists than a season of Twilight Zone.

Somebody sent us Cake carts to review!

Thanks to our policy of never accepting affiliates or paid promotions, many cannabis product companies are eager for a good review from Dab Connection. They know that when we review a product, we assure the public an unbiased, consumer-focused opinion. However, given our record of busting fake vape carts (and being the first site on the Internet to do so), it’s a mystery why anyone would intentionally send us boof carts to review.

Yet our reviewer received boof in Cake disposables! They reported mouth, throat, and lung irritation, virtually no effects, and all the signs that we’d gotten a severely cut cartridge. This has never happened before. Boof cart brand vendors usually avoid our attention.

We have of course tried to reach back out to our mystery contact only to see them vanish, no reply back yet. In the meantime, we still find no official company website beyond a blank parking page for a slew of fake lab tests. When we see “R&D testing” and “Encore Labs,” we know to read no further. Also, all these tests appear to be for gummy edibles, but we found this page starting from a vape cartridge.

And yet clearly there is somebody with a vested interest in this brand, because it shows a lot of legal activity.

Cake sues everybody

As pointed out by our reviewer, there have been multiple lawsuits regarding this Cake brand – pressed by the brand against others. No less than Law360 reported that this Cake company had sued other California distributors claiming copyright infringement and rip-off brands. The company making Cake is officially identified by Law360 as “AK Futures LLC.” Over time, we’ve found this brand suing four other companies:

* Limitless Trading Co. LLC

* Green Buddha LLC

* Smoke Tokes LLC

* Boyd Street Distro LLC

Here is an example of the docket history of one of these suits, against Smoke Tokes. We also find a ruling (PDF link) resolving the Green Buddha case as a default – nobody showed.

The legal trail doesn’t end there. There was also a lawsuit against one of the company’s own founders, Peter Amato, claiming – to loosely summarize – conduct unbecoming a founding partner.

While cake boxes are sometimes labeled “Orange, CA,” (maybe county or city?) we find AK Futures to be listed as a Santa Ana, California, company. Their listing in Corporate Wiki doesn’t give us much to go on beyond confirming they exist.

Then there’s the trademark filings. AK Futures LLC has filed a series of trademark applications with the USPTO. The trademarks include several variations on the cake logo, a “Caviar” logo which others have noted also seems to be associated with part of the Cake brand, and a stylized “C” over a layered cake silhouette. As others have pointed out (and we’d have to be blind to miss), the Cake logo font and the capital “C” resemble the Cookies brand enough that Cookies could probably sue for trademark infringement.

Furthermore, at least one of the trademark filings for the “Cake” logo by AK Futures LLC is filed in the category of clothing products. We have been seeing this tired old gimmick for years; a black market vape cart brand will have a website selling hoodies and hats, with no carts in sight, even though nothing but black market carts make it out to the street while conspicuously nobody is buying branded hoodies.

Is the Cake a lie?

What the crackers is going on? All the legal activity we tracked down above happened in 2021, so this seems to be a new brand getting established. Yet we find no legit distributors of Cake vapes. This brand was seemingly copied and spread all across the black market before the legit brand could reach dispensary shelves.

Here is a video review from February of 2021, and the hosts claim they see these carts “everywhere,” so we see they were likely hitting the streets before all the trademarks were filed.

Yet USPTO filings cost money. Attorneys to file lawsuits also cost money. Registering an LLC costs money. The papers didn’t all jump off a desk and file themselves. So who is this brand, where is this company, where is all this coming from? Casper the Friendly Ghost?

Without all the paperwork, we would suppose that this was simply a case of the usual black market packagers in China cooking up a brand out of thin air like always. With the paperwork, perhaps this is a new tactic by black market packagers to make their brand seem legit. Or maybe we have another case like Muha Meds and Big Chief, long-standing black market brands which tried to go legit only to find that their period of non-licensed operation allowed counterfeits to get out of hand.

Readers, we leave the mystery in your lap. Report any findings of Cake carts or any sign of a legit owner here in the comments or in our forum.
