RYOT VERB Battery Review – Sexy, Affordable and Sturdy

ryot verb battery review

The folks at RYOT sent me a new cart battery called the VERB. It looks like a Zippo, which is very cool!

  • Packed in a cool tin box that I will use far into the future
  • Clear easy instructions, fast to use
  • Comes with everything you need except the cart
  • Nostalgic look and action
  • Easy to adjust temp settings
  • Easy to read display colors that show the temp and battery use
  • Power lasted long
  • Easy-to-hold design
  • Soft feel plastic, warm

As I took it out of its tin box, I was starting to think of what I’m going to use that box for in the future. I adore a tin box that I can reuse. This battery is also very much like that lighter we all know and love that makes that distinct “clink, chak” when opened and closed, ‘Snap!’ this was a bit satisfying for me to snap closed after a pull. I also found it to be great in the respect of keeping my tip clean from pocket debris.  Don’t you just hate when you put the tip in your mouth and it’s got fuzz on it? Yuck! So that is a big selling point to me.

Pros:

  • The great design fits right into your pocket
  • Simple to use from the start
  • The quality of the build seems quite sturdy
  • Standard button clicks for start, temp set, and use

Cons:

  • Awkward to pull from with the top so close (wider swing to hinge?)
  • Pressing the button to draw is also awkward (different button location?)

Recommendations: Some minor design changes could make this battery perfect.

I love all RYOT products and the VERB is no different

Right from the get-go, I love the box, yes I’m a cat! But seriously, I’ll keep and reuse this tin box, so useful packaging. The VERB is a battery on a nostalgic level that I’m here for now and tomorrow. The satisfying flip of the lid and the snap when it closes dramatically, fun! Not to mention this is easy to use. 5 fast clicks, on. 3 fast clicks to change from 3 temp settings. 2 fast clicks for a pre-heat/hit it hot. And press and hold to use as most standard batteries on the market. Not many are as fun, however. With its long-lasting range, I went thru 2 .5 carts before I ‘needed’ a charge.

The look is sexy

When I pulled this out with my friends, someone said, ‘That’s sexy!’ Then I flipped the lid and they passed out in awe. RYOT, you have done it again, yet another cool product to make cannabis not only acceptable but sexy. Thank you for that!

Not only is it sexy, but it’s also useful and high quality. I see this being a part of my collection for a long long time.

ryot verb battery top

Great value

I feel that this price point is spot on for what they have here and if they get a little marketing behind it, we could see this becoming the standard of batteries. Its simple standard use makes it so you don’t need instruction to start using it if you have used others in the past.  The price of this battery is $30.00.

Will I be looking for more products from this company?

I don’t think I’ll ever get enough of this company. RYOT has sent me many products to try out and test. I have to say that they are very consistent with what they are putting out in quality. Even if the product is not quite something I’d use daily, it’s quality. The VERB is no different. As a matter of fact, I think that this may be my favorite of all the items I’ve tried of theirs, and look forward to seeing what they may have next in store for me to try out. Long lasting battier that is fun to use and get’s called ‘Sexy’ is something I’ll be taking out into public more often. I’m off now to look into stock for Ryot, I think they are going to become something much bigger than they are.

RYOT X CHOCOLATE Grinder Review – Sleek & Innovative Design

0
ryot choco grinder review

Grinders are often underappreciated for being the foundation of any smoker experience. It’s a HUGE disservice if you don’t have a quality grinder. A proper grinder will help you save money, get the most out of your flower, and even get you higher with the ability to catch kief. While some people might not want to invest in an upper-echelon grinder, it’ll really pay off for you in the end.

Okay, now that I’m off my soapbox, I’m here to talk about the lovely RYOT X Chocolate grinder! RYOT and Chocolate collaborated and brought us this shiny hardware.

I was lucky enough to review this sleek bad boy and now I’d like to share my thoughts. Coming in at a $50 price tag, it is definitely worth it.

Pros:

  • Sleek design
  • Convenient
  • Customizable
  • Fine grind
  • Great value

Cons:

  • None

Recommendations: None

The sleek design is built for convenience and quality

I love a fancy grinder, and this one definitely boasts an air of elegance. This multi-chamber grinder comes in four pieces, with the ability to remove the sifting changer if you want a more portable option. It also comes with a cute little carrying pouch.

The RYOT X Chocolate grinder is made from high-grade aluminum. So, even if you drop it the sturdy build helps prevent damage. I don’t know about you, but I’m clumsy. The sturdier the hardware is, the better.

The clear chamber lets you see how much bud you have left

I like to know how much weed I’m working with so I can plan accordingly. I don’t want to have to open my grinder every time to do this, and the RYOT X Chocolate grinder fixes this struggle.

They have a clear jar chamber that allows you to peek at how much weed you have left. This design feature is a game changer that more grinder designs should follow.

ryot choco grinder top

The grinder broke it down to a nice fine grind sans chunky pieces

Sometimes if I’m dealing with some serious sticky-icky I’ll find that my grinder has trouble breaking it down uniformly.

The high-quality aluminum makes the grinder easy to maneuver, and I didn’t have any random chunky pieces stuck in the top of the grinder.

I didn’t use it long enough to build up a good kief collection, but I have a feeling that you would have a pretty good amount in about a week’s worth of grinding.

Concluding this review

So, would I buy the RYOT X Chocolate grinder if I hadn’t gotten it for free? Yes, most definitely. As I said, a quality grinder saves you money in the end, and this grinder is a great investment. You can grab your own on the RYOT website for $50

RYOT Wood GR8TR | Handsome and Eco-Friendly

0

Well, it sure is nice of y’all to drop by our humble little weed-blogger’s site, here on this fine day! We have a short review today for a product that we usually overlook. This is the RYOT Wood GR8TR, a combo grinder and jar unit. This is one smoothly made piece, priced at “$40-50” on the site (yeah, I dunno, probably suggested MSRP?). I saw my colleague Miles reviewing the RYOT Kannastor GR8TR V2, and subsequently made a fuss to the staff so they’d let me review a high end RYOT grinder too. I’m a prima donna that way.

Check out the full video review of the RYOT Wood GR8TR here.

Pros:

  • Eco-friendly
  • Minimalist packaging
  • Smooth action
  • Efficient 2-in-1 grinder and storage jar function
  • Handsomely made
  • Looks classy on your smoke table

Cons:

  • No kief catcher (do you really care that much?)

Recommendations: Maybe clarify that $40-50 price listed on the site?

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183250

The RYOT Wood GR8TR is Eco-Friendly

Some of you don’t care about these things, but I give points for a product using natural materials, shipped in efficient, minimal packaging. The Wood GR8TR comes in a simple cardboard box with paper holders keeping it secure enough for shipping. A marked contrast from yesterday’s review, when I unboxed a vape that had enough packaging to construct a separate building.

Note the packaging shows that being eco-friendly was intentional. It’s even made without plastic.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183328

An Efficient and Clever Design

The Wood GR8TR itself is a wood and glass unit, with the upper chamber being the wood grinder. The unit opens to reveal a generous, deep cup awaiting your choice buds. Even the teeth are wooden. The lid snaps shut with a couple smartly-placed magnets. Below is a jar detachable from the grinder with a rubber stopper.

The action on this baby is smooth. Normally I’m struggling to turn the lid on my old, dinky gas-station-special metal grinder. This wood grinder plows through a fistful of buds with no effort. The grinder top is chunky, so you can easily press it down on the buds to begin pulverizing them.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183458

I must note, compared to a metal grinder, a wood grinder is more health conscious because you don’t have to worry about metal shavings getting into your bud. I have seen photos of grinders with considerable wear and yet shiny fresh metal grooves showing on the friction points. Guess where that shaved-off metal went?

When you’re done, the ground weed is deposited in the jar below. So you have a nice storage compartment that looks to hold about 7 grams of ground herb, and the rubber stopper seals in the freshness.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183425

The sole feature I find lacking is no kief catcher. Maybe that comes separate, or maybe we’re just over kief.

Side Note: Does Anybody Care About Kief Anymore?

You know what I’ve been doing with my kief? I let some build up and then dump it into a bowl and smoke it. Then I check online forums and chats to find out what all of you do with your kief, and discover a bunch of people asking each other “what do I do with kief?” and the answer always amounts to “dump it into a bowl and smoke it.” Somebody will also suggest “press rosin out of it,” and then somebody else points out that doing this leads to sucky results.

I think kief catchers are more of a hold-over from the weed prohibition days, when we all agonized over every precious crumb. I know, since legalization, I have caught myself dropping a nug on the floor and shrugging “meh I’ll get that later.” 18-year-old me would have dove off a bridge to catch a nug that size before it hit water.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183631

The RYOT Wood GR8TR is a Smooth, Classy Unit

This handsome piece has already assumed its place on my smoke table – we used to call it a “coffee table” back in the day – where I’ll be using it on the regular. Time will tell if the wood surfaces hold up well against all buds dank and dry, but I have a hunch that it’s simple to clean. Why, we might even have a Golden Buddha Award candidate here!

That site again is the RYOT Wood GR8TR, and of course check out the rest of RYOT’s site, with a wide line of boutique stoner gear.

Readers, join us in the comments below or in our rustic and charming forum over yonder, to discuss matters grindy and kiefy.

RYOT Kannastor GR8TR V2 Review – Extremely Versatile

RYOT sent me not a grinder, but a greater (GR8TR) for shredding flower.

  • It’s extremely versatile
  • Love the copper mixed with silver style
  • Easy to grind, no resistance turning
  • So easy to figure out its many uses

Pros:

  • Quality built
  • Had a nice feel, weight (light)
  • Dig the copper (rose gold) finish
  • Love easy it shreds flower
  • Enjoy the glass for peeking at what’s left

Cons:

  • No noticeable difference in grind blades
  • The deep glass area is not so easy to scoop out your ground flower

Recommendations: None

Very interesting

When I opened the well-packaged box was wrapped in bubble wrap, so the packaging was intact. As I opened the rest of the way I was a little taken aback at how tall it looked in person. My first thought was, that’s too bulky. I was wrong, it was light when I picked it up and as soon as I learned about all the ways it can be used I was more impressed. It’s made up of 8 parts that all come undone very easily.

I did not however see a difference between flower grinds, it all seemed to be the same. I’m more inclined that the dule sizes would be better served if it was used as a spice grinder. So when you use this to roll a joint or blunt, it’s too dense to get a pull, thus no good in that application. Now if we are using a pipe or vaporizer, it’s fantastic. I’m most likely going to clean this unit up and use it in the kitchen for spices. I like to cook, sometimes…

GR8TR device

I’d love to have two more, for the kitchen

This quality-built GR8TR is extremely nice. I’d make it my main grinder if it was not such a fine grind every time. I like to roll a lot and when I use the product (tried 4 different strains of flower) every time, either blade was too fine for rolling. We did however use the grind in a vaporizer and it was amazing. We do not, however, have a lot of outlets in our home (built in 1930) and I’ve yet to get a battery operated to make it more of a go too in our home.

When loading a bowl, this grind was fine and did not go thru the hole in the bottom of my glass pipe, and I liked that it would keep burning as it was finely ground. I’m not too keen on the glass jar being so deep, it’s hard to scoop out and my buds are always sticky, so too poor is all or nothing. Overall, it’s a great product that has a great build and is easy to use.

GR8TR parts

The use of this GR8TR could be great!!!

I would totally start using this as my main grinder if the teeth were a bit bigger and make more cores grind the 2 options I was given. I’ve not decided if I’ll keep this grinder off to the side for using a vaporizer or clean it up really well and put it into the kitchen for spices. Either way, I dig this grinder and do not plan on letting it go anytime soon. It’s also priced quite fair for the quality of what it is, and I would get another if I don’t use this in the kitchen as I’m loving the look, feel, and style of it all. And the quality and that it comes with a 10-year warrantee, well sign me up!

GR8TR blades

Length of time I’ll have this GR8TR?

As long as I can, because I like it a lot. I’ll be on the lookout on the RYOT site to see if they offer blade size options so that I can make this my tray grindr and retire the others I’m using now. 4.9 stars out of 5. Corser grind, and 5+!

PLAYBOY by RYOT Water Pipe Review – Classy Stuff

0
ryot water pipe review

Today I got a ceramic PLAYBOY by RYOT Water Pipe and man is it cool!

The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how well it was packed. Everything was in its own wrapper. Nothing was damaged, Nice! The base is wood, so it lands on surfaces softly not to damage your table. This 5-piece water pipe was very easy to assemble without instructions (non-provided.) The lift bowl carb is great. Very easy to use as it works well, slightly tilted and the glass-on-glass lifts out easily and is not hot to the touch. It looks nice too, something to put on the shelf to show off indeed. The maple caps hold in the odor that can come from the water left from smoking. Making it look even more classy.

Pros:

  • Nice looking
  • Quality build
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to clean
  • Caps to hold in smells

Cons:

  • The mouth end is a bit too big
  • Glass stem and bowl have no place to go when caps on the water pipe
  • The price is a bit high, maybe add a case for the above and an adapter for the top to pull

Recommendations: None

ryot water pipe

A good product that might be a bit pricey for some

For the price, I’d like just a little bit more. Don’t get me wrong, this is a quality-built product that I’m sure  will last me a long time (the stem perhaps not so long as I seem to like breaking those, but we will see in  time.) I really like everything about this water pipe except the mouth part. I have to put my entire face to get a pull, and I don’t shave, so a lot of air gets in while pulling. Now I don’t think the design should change, as it’ll be easy to clean like it is, however a nice maple top, that would reduce the size of the opening down just a bit, would not only look nice, but it would also complete its esthetic. Also, a nice little velvet bag to put the stem and bowl into while it’s stored. If that was updated and added with no additional cost, I’d buy it and also gift it as 100% complete.

ryot water pipe close

How long will I have and use this item?

I feel for how it is built; I’ll have this in my home for a long time.

I think this classic water pipe style will never go out of style. It’s built with thick, clean white ceramic walls and is built to last. The maple wood base not only gives it a soft impact when set down, but it also protects the ceramic from breaking if dropped (as long as it lands on the wood bottom.) This is not a test  I’m going to do, however, as I want it on my bookshelf. The maple lids that keep in the smell of the old water also make it look great when on display. The only thing about the look I’d change is the placement of the PlayBoy logo to 180 degrees on the backside. This would make it more discreet as you could face the bowl side in.

ryot water pipe glass

Would I get this at the store?

As a gift perhaps, as I do not like the size of the opening to pull from. An adapter that reduces this size made from the same maple as the rest, I’m sold! It’s a classy look, it’s fun to see the PlayBoy logo, takes me back to my high school days and how popular this would have been back then. I do, however, think that this company makes high-quality products that are well worth the money. I’d not only buy more from this company, but I’m also going to start to tell all of my friends to keep an eye out for this company and the Playboy logo items they carry. Ryot, you have a new fan!

PLAYBOY by RYOT VERB 510 Battery Review – Very Cool

ryot playboy battery review

I recently got the opportunity to try the PLAYBOY by RYOT VERB 510 Battery. It is no exaggeration to say there really isn’t another battery like this on the market.

Pros:

  • Very cool looking
  • Has all the standard functions
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • None

Recommendations: None

Great design

I know one of my biggest pet peeves about various batteries is that they make it look like you are smoking weed. And again, although completely legal in California, it still does not come without stigma regardless of its medicinal properties. So the fact that this battery looks like a zippo-style lighter is great. It does have a pot leaf on it but it just looks like art more than the warning symbol vibes you get from most batteries.

ryot playboy battery set up

Some carts may not fit

This battery has two small metal pieces to allow you to use a smaller or larger cartridge which I really like. However, it is worth noting, if you have a cart bigger than 1G it is highly possible it will not fit. The only other downside I can see with this battery is that I guess it can be a little weird to use. But I don’t think a slightly awkward grip is enough o really complain about. It’s small enough to still fit in the hand easily.

ryot playboy battery

Three power modes

There are a few other things to note about this battery. It uses a standard 510 thread to connect to whichever cart you prefer. There are three power modes (low, medium, and high) toggled with three clicks of the power button. The power is indicated by a green, blue, or red LED light. The battery also has a preheat function which is activated with two fast clicks. I really like this feature because it allows for bigger hits at low power levels. The battery also charges via a micro-USB cable which is included in the box.

playboy batteries line up

Five different designs

There are five different designs to choose from with the RYOT battery which is cool too. I think most people would be able to find one that fits their aesthetic. There are a few with the bunny logo pretty prominent on there if that’s your vibe or I personally like the one I have which feels far more trippy and artsy. I’m unsure if I got to choose this design or if it is just what was sent to me but I am happy about it regardless.

specs ryot playboy

Concluding this review

Overall I would definitely recommend the Playboy by RYOT Verb 510 battery to anyone looking to upgrade their battery from a style perspective. It is by far the coolest-looking vape battery I’ve ever seen and it still comes with all the standard functions you get in the more standard-appearing batteries. It is only $36 on their website which is slightly higher than most batteries I see but this feels more like you are paying for the aesthetic which is definitely worth it. Just remember there are limits to the size of the cart that will work with this battery.

According to the website, the RYOT is compatible with carts up to 65 mm in height although the diameter of the carts is what I would be more concerned with as I believe it probably works with longer carts that might not be as thick but it definitely will not close if it is too long. Regardless, you should head over to the RYOT website to check out their playboy batteries as well as the other cool gear and accessories they have available. I hope I get to try some more products from RYOT in the future.

PLAYBOY by RYOT Dugout Review – Very Stylish

0
ryot playboy dugout review

Today I got a Dugout from the company RYOT. PLAYBOY by RYOT came in quality packaging that kept it in perfect condition. The paper/card packaging was easy to get into without needing any tools.

Pros:

  • Stylish design
  • Warm wood feel
  • Fun Playboy bunny
  • Easy to use
  • Quality build

Cons:

  • It gets very hot on the tip
  • Scoobie snacks unless you pull softly
  • The tip gets loose after a few uses

Recommendations: Some improvements to the tip would be great.

ryot playboy dugout set up

Great idea for the gift season

The magnetic lock on the top was nice. It was almost an auto close, to help from spilling your flower. I like how the one-hitter popped out when I opened the lid, what fun! The built-in poker is amazing and makes me wish I could send this product back in time to a  younger me long ago. The playboy bunny would even fit right into the time, I love it! The only thing to be aware of is that you have to pull softly, or you WILL get a mouth full of stuff. Also, be careful of the tip, it gets very very hot! Today would I buy myself this sort of product? Most likely not, because vape pens are cleaner and easier.  That said, it would make a great gift for middle-aged folks who still smoke, it is quality and light, and nostalgic.  Get dad one for the holidays now and watch his face light up!

Back in the day

In our day, vape pen has replaced items like this. It’s a little sad now that I think of it, so get your dad a Dugout by RYOT and let him remember back in the day and maybe he’ll let you share too. This lightweight item is easy to slip into your pocket on the go. Great way to keep a small stash for sneaking away quickly during the upcoming holidays.

ryot playboy dugout in hand

The use was great

That tip gets hot, maybe make it red to let folks take notice. Also, maybe a lock washer to keep the tip from coming loose as mine did as we all (about 5 of us) took a hit.

Value for the product, absolutely!

I think the biggest seller to me is the overall quality and magnetic force they incorporated into the smooth design. The classic Play Boy Bunny, how fun! The one-hitter is cool to the touch as it’s also made of wood. Just make sure not to let it burn you as it gets very hot indeed! One of my friends burnt herself not realizing how hot it gets. Once we all discussed that and the tip getting loose it was smooth sailing for the rest of our day.

ryot playboy dugout part

Will I be using this brand again soon?

PLAYBOY by RYOT has truly sent me a high-quality product today. I think a few minor tweaks to the design will make it perfect. Make the tip red and with a tiny bit smaller hole so you don’t get a mouth full of ash. Add a lock washer to the easily unscrewed metal tip so that it doesn’t get lost while on the go, and yes please, I’ll take 10 more. Keep the poker as it is, so easy to pull out and put back. The Auto close to prevent you from spilling your flower, is amazing, love it, more, please. I’m going to go over to RYOT site right now and see what other lovely products they have now.

RYOT Verb Electronic Nectar Collector – Sleek and Convenient

RYOT Verb Electronic Nectar Collector Review

Today, we will take a look at the RYOT Verb nectar collector, the latest addition from this brand. You can find our RYOT Verb dry herb vaporizer review here. For this review, I will cover the distinctive features of the new RYOT Verb Electronic Dab Straw.

Pros:

  • Unique design
  • Smooth water filtration
  • Solid flavor
  • Efficient ceramic tip
  • Good battery life
  • 4 temperature settings

Cons:

  • Too similar to the Rokin Stinger
  • Rokin Stinger is 20 dollars cheaper for the same features
  • Slightly harsh at the highest temperature setting

Recommendations: None

The RYOT Verb ESB is extremely similar to the Rokin Stinger

With its unique design, smooth water filtration, and hollow ceramic tip, the RYOT Verb Electronic Dab Straw is reminiscent of the Rokin Stinger. Additionally, the RYOT Verb Electronic Dab Straw uses an 1100 mAh battery and has 4 main temperature settings. The Rokin Stinger also has the same features and is actually sold for 20 dollars less than the RYOT Verb. When you open the box you will find the RYOT VERB unit. Under the unit, you will find some extra accessories. These include a USB-C charging cable, some additional O-rings, a cleaning brush, and an instruction manual. You can also order replacement ceramic tips from their official website.

ryot verb gear

The unique features of the RYOT Verb ESB allow for a better overall experience than other electronic nectar collectors

The RYOT VERB ESB mainly consists of a sleek metal body, a hollow ceramic tip, and a convenient water bubbler that cools down the vapor for a less harsh taste and better flavor for most concentrates. Using the unit is pretty easy. You take off the little mouth cap and fill the glass bubbler with water. The water bubbler needs a precise amount of water. If you add too much you will end up with water in your mouth and if you add too little the dabs will be harsh.

To power up the unit you just press the power button 5 times. To change the power setting you press the button 3 times. The unique features of the RYOT Verb ESB allow for a less harsh, yet smoother and more flavorful experience than other electronic nectar collectors without water filtration, such as the Yocan Falcon Mini. However, the XMAX Daboo is slightly better and even smoother with a longer glass mouthpiece and water bubbler.

ryot verb

For this review, I used some Claybourne Eagle Extracts White Widow live resin badder

At the lowest temperature setting, it has great flavor and good amount of vapor production. At the medium setting, it was pretty potent. As we increase the strength the dabs get harsher. At the highest setting, it tastes and feels like a hot dab. Cleaning the RYOT Verb ESB is also easy to clean as you only need to soak the glass mouthpiece/water bubbler in isopropyl alcohol. There is also a 15-second preheat function at 1.8v, which burns off any residue and efficiently cleans the ceramic tip.

ryot verb pack

Concluding this review

Ultimately, I would recommend the Rokin Stinger, which has the exact same features as the RYOT Verb ESB for a slightly cheaper price. But I think this is a better overall product than their dry herb vaporizer. You can find out more about RYOT products here.

The pocket-sized portability, precise temperature control, and easier-to-load heating oven make the Verb a worthy dry herb vaporizer

The Verb is a surprisingly worthy addition to the dry herb vaporizer market with its pocket-sized portability, precise temperature control, and easier-to-load convection heating oven. With only three main buttons, this is an easily accessible dry herb vaporizer for beginners with its simple one-button operation. The simple interface for the Verb includes only the power button and the two main temperature adjustment buttons.

When opening the kit for the RYOT Verb, you will find the following:

  • RYOT Verb unit
  • Micro USB charging cable
  • Cleaning brush
  • A set of 25 cotton swabs
  • An extra set of mouthpiece screens & screw
  • User manual

ryot verb kit

The battery life for the RYOT Verb is very short, compared to the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the XMAX V3 Pro

The weakest aspect of the RYOT Verb DHV is the short battery life, which only supports six to eight sessions per full charge. Although the vapor production isn’t too strong, it still produces solid clouds, depending on how fine the herb is ground before loading it in the oven chamber. The battery life for the Verb pales in comparison to the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the XMAX V3 Pro. The USB port is also located on the bottom of the unit.

Using the RYOT Verb dry herb vaporizer for optimal performance:

  • Charge the RYOT Verb unit if needed.
  • Remove the plastic mouthpiece.
  • Pack the chamber with your preferred herb halfway to almost full, but not packed too tightly.
  • Reattach the plastic mouthpiece to the RYOT Verb body.
  • Turn on the unit by pressing it three times quickly
  • The Verb chamber will rise up to your preferred temperature setting.
  • Inhale slowly through the mouthpiece when the OLED screen reads “HIT IT” using the controllable air intake located on the back of the device.
  • The session will end when the OLED screen reads “L8tR VAPR”.
  • Continue your session if necessary.

ryot verb screen

The strongest aspect of the RYOT Verb DHV is the precise temperature control; however, the unit can get very hot after too much consecutive use

The strongest aspect of the RYOT Verb DHV is the precise temperature control which goes from 330 degrees Fahrenheit to 420 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the unit does get pretty hot after too much consecutive use, so a 10-15 min break between sessions is strongly recommended. The range of temperature control is also slightly limited, compared to the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the XMAX V3 Pro. The flavor doesn’t even taste harsh or burnt in the highest temperature setting.

Here are a few key differences between the RYOT Verb and other similar dry herb vaporizers:

Compared to other dry herb vaporizers, the design for the Verb is most similar to the XMax Starry 3.0, but with a more ergonomic design and better airflow. The other noteworthy aspect of the Verb is its discrete portability, which fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Cleaning the RYOT Verb dry herb vaporizer is really easy and simple, similar to the XMAX Starry 3.0:

  • Empty the heating oven of all the used herbs using the magnetic stainless steel poker located at the base of the battery.
  • Clean the interior of the oven chamber using one of the cotton swabs provided in the kit.
  • Wipe down the mouthpiece and screen with isopropyl alcohol.
  • Reattach the mouthpiece to the RYOT Verb body.

ryot verb open

The Verb is recommended for beginners looking for a solid yet discreet dry herb vaporizer for $100 while high-tolerance users should look elsewhere

So, my final thoughts: I would recommend the RYOT Verb to beginners looking for a solid yet discreet dry herb vaporizer for $100. On the other hand, the more advanced users should look elsewhere. Yet, its ergonomic body has a better, more comfortable grip than the XMAX Starry 3.0 and XMAX V3 Pro. However, for the same or similar value, you can find a better temperature range, flavor, and strength with XMAX Starry 3.0 and XMAX V3 Pro. For a low price of $99.99 (at least, for dry herb vaporizers), you can purchase the RYOT Verb from their official website here.

Dab Connection’s Second Annual Golden Buddha Awards | 2023

Golden-Buddha-awards-banner

So hey, Green Wednesday is upon us! For those of you cannabis fans who will be doing your Green Wednesday shopping for yourself or for gift ideas on your list, let me present the this award ceremony which I totally made up myself. The Golden Buddhas are these little statues I somehow possess, possibly on a head shop run, that pop up in random photos of products I review on here. Over the past year, I’ve even hinted in some reviews at a “possible Golden Buddha award” contender.

DISCLAIMER:

Our Golden Buddhas are not to be taken scientifically. They’re based on the best stuff reviewed this year by “Penguin” Pete only. Check the name credited as author of this post; Dab Connection has had some 20-odd steady reviewers over the years. Thus, the answer to “why didn’t this product win?” is “Pete didn’t try it this year.” The answer to “Why didn’t you have an award for [insert category]?” is “Pete didn’t try anything in that category this year worth noting.” These are just the products that impressed me overall. You’re savvied up to that, on with the program…

One more note: All of the products on this list are legally available in all 50 US states, except where noted. That way you can look for deals on this list for Green Wednesday, in case you’re doing some holiday gift buying at your local dispo or online retailer.

One BIG difference is that we’re adding non-cannabis products this year, for shrooms and psychedelics. So we’re at the second annual award and we had to make a major modification already, because the biggest news in cannabis this year was mushrooms, ironically.

Click through the listings to find our review and vendor link.

2nd Annual Golden Buddha Awards

For outstanding performance as a credit to the US Cannabis and Legalized Drugs Industry. And the winners are…

Cannabis Consumables

Adios-Blend-3

Best Cannabis Altcan Gummies: Delta Extrax Adios Blend

We appreciate that most customers want their cannabis edibles to be a mere supplement, a small mood-booster or pain relief, maybe. But let’s acknowledge also that some of us buy cannabis edibles to get wrecked like the Titanic. Delta Extrax gave these kind of people a 350MG Live Resin gummy packed with D9, D8, and THCA (no I don’t know how THCA works in an edible). Whatever it is, these gummies hit like a truck and we love them for it.

Rave-Exotics-box-1

Best THCA Dabs: Rave Exotics

My own hometown Des Moines Despensary and their THCA diamonds nearly took this slot, but Rave Exotics came to us like an invitation to Hogwarts, and showed us what THCA dabs are really capable of. Their badder was simply sublime, the flavors were a treat, the potency was off the charts, and the presentation was so cool that this whole kit makes a great pre-packaged Christmas gift. I’m sure there’s great THC dabs out there in legal states; for the rest of us, Rave Exotics has our back.

Cannabis Hardware and Accessories

Hemper-Vapor-Station1

Best Dab Straw: Hemper Vapor Station Dab Straw

Even though Hemper is known for its subscription box service for cannabis enthusiasts, and its middle-shelf glass, Hemper also designs its own lines of products that occasionally beat the market. We found the Hemper Vapor Station Dab Straw to be easy to use, easy to maintain, and very easy on the eyes when it’s on the shelf. At $59.99, it packs in a lot of bang for the buck.

Doteco-TIK20-2

Best Cartridge Battery: Doteco TIK20

You can have your over-featured oilpens with all the fancy doodads and features. We are blown away by the stunning minimalist design that packs in a detailed LED screen and 3-button control into a battery smaller than a thumb. It heats fast, hits good, and doesn’t bather you with having to download an app or something. I keep reviewing other batteries and declaring them just fine, but then I always come back to this hardworking little mite.

RYOT-GR8TR+20230317_183631

Best Grinder: RYOT Wood GR8TR

This was a banner year for grinder reviews, including some impressively fancy designs. It seems like half the hardware companies out there decided to re-think the humble grinder all in the same year. But at the end of the day, what does Pete use to grind his weed? This sleek wooden grinder. The best part of it is that it only has three parts, with no little bits to fumble with, and yet manages to double as a stoppered storage container. It is the perfect grinder-on-the-go. Kief catcher, you say? Your kief is there with your ground weed; it all goes in the bowl and you smoke it all. Don’t make it more complicated than it need be.

Yocan-Phaser_172923

Best eRig: Yocan Black Phaser Max

In yet another year of eRig designs from the fanciest table-top pieces to the minimalist handhelds, the Yocan Black Phaser Max gets my nod just for making eRigs fun again. Sure, it’s basically a glorified wax pen and only good for short hits and small loads, but it’s an eRig shaped like a phaser where you activate it with a trigger! It’s a design that’s dead-easy for novices and those with mobility issues, while packing a respectable hit.

Cipher-Nautilus_140350

Best Dry Herb Vape Kit: Cipher Nautillus

Not just a vape disguised as a pipe, but a host of stem accessories to turn it into a Churchwarden style pipe. Not only is this workable as a dry herb vape, but it’s a handy cosplay and acting accessory. We find its design and ease of use to be very conductive to reclining in an easy chair puffing vape rings while scolding a Hobbit.

Best Nootropic Mushroom Supplement: The Plant People

Are you looking for the next big thing in “smart drugs”? You owe it to yourself to check out the performance-enhancing formulas of The Plant People, with custom blends to help you fall asleep, stave off anxiety, or sharpen your mental focus. A few daily gummies from these bags had me sharp and focused, even tempted to apply to go on Jeopardy. Your mileage may vary, but I was impressed with the quality.

Mushroom-Lyfe-Muscimol-gummies_143147

Best Psychedelic Mushroom Gummies: Smilyn Happy Mush / Mushrom Lyfe (2 brands same company)

The humble Fly Agaric, Amanita Muscaria, took the legalized drugs world by storm when consumers discovered that you can get a legal psychedelic mushroom extract. Muscimol, the active ingredient, became the hottest gummy ingredient of the year, and we sampled plenty of different brands. It was with Smilyn and its sister-company (alt brand? subsidiary?) Mushroom Lyfe, which hosted my triumphant psychedelic breakthrough, where a dose of 12K in Amanita weight in gummies at last launched me to trippy-land. Since then I’ve tried the same brand in other sessions or in combination with other gummies, and had consistent effects.

TRE-House-magic-mushroom-gummies-1

Best Non-Mushroom Psychedelic: Mimosa Hostillis Root Bark

They slipped it past the radar by including Lion’s Mane in the formula so they could say “magic mushrooms” on the label. But the big news in this bag is the Mimosa, which is legal to have but not to extract the DMT (a 1.7% concentration) from. Together with a couple other bits of organic chemistry, They delivered on the package’s promise with a new psychedelic effect which has little to do with shrooms. We’ve experimented some more since then.

Top 10 Tips for Safely Traveling with Cannabis

0
traveling-with-weed

When traveling with cannabis, planning ahead to ensure a smooth trip is essential. Factors such as where you are going, with whom you are traveling, how long of a trip you’re taking, and which locations you are passing through can all be factors in how to plan for a trip with cannabis in your possession. When in doubt, research what is legal and acceptable at your final destination or interim locations as you plan your travel itinerary.

If you’re concerned about privacy or discretion, consider using inconspicuous packaging for cannabis products while you travel such as smell-proof bags. From researching local laws to packing strategies and respecting cultural norms, ensure you make informed decisions and enjoy a smooth travel experience by researching travel with cannabis before you travel.

As with any form of travel, preparation is key. Understanding the intricacies of cannabis laws in different regions and countries will help you avoid unnecessary legal complications and unwanted attention. By adhering to these guidelines and taking the necessary precautions, you can ensure a responsible, hassle-free, and enjoyable trip while traveling with and consuming cannabis. Here are the top ten tips to consider when traveling safely and discreetly with cannabis!

Vermont Bill S.241

Research Local Laws

Put some time and effort into researching the local laws at your destination. Ensure you understand the ins and outs of what they deem legal and leave no questions unanswered. If you need clarification, seek formal legal advice, even if anonymously, before traveling. For example, is carrying pre-roll cones legal but not loose flowers in a jar? Make sure you know before you go.

Check Travel Restrictions

Checking details from door to door is an excellent way to plan for a trip with cannabis; make sure you understand where you’ll be going and what type of facilities you will be passing through. Restrictions could change with every city, county, state, or private property line. Don’t leave any room for surprises; the last thing a traveler wants is to be caught off-card with a stash of cannabis while unsure what to do next.

Know What To Pack Legally

Packing luggage effectively and legally based on local or national rules and regulations ensures that your products are well-protected, secured, and easily accessible. Pack carefully and give some time and attention to the process should you need to take out your product or show it to authorities upon request. Regardless of if you’re traveling to a location where cannabis is fully legal versus where it isn’t, ensure that you comply with local possession limits, which may change as you travel from place to place.

Secure Proper Containers

One of the more essential steps on this list is to ensure travelers have researched and purchased containers that can be adequately secured for their trip. Consider if the luggage will be in the individual’s or group’s possession the entire time or not. Will minors or children be traveling with you or using the group’s luggage?  Could anyone else try to open your luggage containing the cannabis? These are all necessary factors to think through when packing before traveling.

Carry Documentation

Carrying documentation is a great way to ensure a stress-free trip. Planning ahead by printing out any relevant purchase or medical information, prescriptions, or other medical details beforehand will benefit you greatly if anyone asks to see documentation or proof of what your product is. Keep your cannabis products in their original packaging, perhaps inside of another small bag or container, to ensure a smooth conversation if authorities call upon you.

Use Discreet Packaging

Lorem Keeping your items hidden in plain sight is one of the best ways to ensure you travel with cannabis with no hiccups. Packaging such as smell-proof bags is an excellent way to keep various cannabis products fresh with minimal detection and fewer issues while traveling. It is also a good idea to bring one or two extra empty containers in case something happens to one that you are relying on for discretion. You don’t want to be caught off guard needing to transfer products and then realize that there are no other packaging options available to you.

Avoid Public Consumption

Waiting until you reach a final destination, or seeking out a discreet spot somewhere on your journey, is a great way to ensure you imbibe in private. Ensure you are not attracting unwanted attention to yourself by avoiding public consumption at all times. Opinions about cannabis usage in public will vary as you travel, so be cautious about how and where you enjoy cannabis.

Citrus_Skunk_cannabis_strain

Be Mindful of Smell

Even in private, be mindful of the smoke smell that may linger behind or the cannabis product that smells more strongly than you realize when it is stored. Some hotels and companies may charge a fee or a fine for lingering smoke smells left behind in rooms from cannabis or tobacco products. Even if your group enjoys the smell, recognize that other travelers may not and that the scent of cannabis can come with stigma and judgment.

Plan Ahead for Medicinal Use

If you rely on medical cannabis for certain medical issues, ensure you have ample supply throughout your trip. If you need to consume cannabis while traveling for medicinal purposes, consider the steps above. Make sure to leave ample time for hiccups or delays in your travel itinerary as a proactive way to take the stress and anxiety out of the travel process. Keep an eye on your own mental health by not putting yourself in situations that will feel stressful or anxiety-inducing.

Be Cautious and Respectful

Before traveling, thoroughly research the cannabis laws and regulations of your destination. Different countries and states have varying rules regarding the possession, use, and transportation of cannabis. Familiarize yourself with these laws to avoid any potential legal complications. Always be cautious and respectful of local languages, rules, and regulations. Understand that discussing cannabis in public may be an issue based on the country or culture you are interacting with.

Traveling with cannabis can be a rewarding experience when approached with knowledge, preparedness, and respect. Enjoy your travels and make lasting memories while keeping compliance and discretion top of mind. By adopting these best practices, you can travel responsibly, respecting both your own needs and the rules and regulations of the locations you visit.

XMax Daboo | More Than Meets the Eye!

Review-XMax-Daboo

XMax makes a hardware accessory called the “Daboo,” and I am now not too sure what to call it. Officially it is called an electric nectar collector, but (a) some outfit in Colorado decided to trademark the name “Nectar Collector” and is now running around trying to sue anybody who writes that phrase, and (b) The XMax Daboo has a spare trick up its sleeve, making it more than just a nectar collector anyway.

Pros:

  • Converts to 510-threaded cartridge vaping
  • Compact
  • Great airflow
  • Good documentation
  • Easy to use
  • Fair price

Cons:

  • Temperature range is a bit high
  • I’m still not as sold on nectar collecting as I am on vape batteries with a bubbler

Recommendations: Perhaps add a fourth, lower temp setting for vape cartridges?

XMax-Daboo1

The XMax Daboo Can Vape 510 Cartridges

The XMax Daboo comes in a small, unassuming box. Inside you’ll find a palm-sized device that’s easy to grip in the hand, shaped vaguely like a Star Trek weapon. Thus far, you have been led to expect your average dab pen, e.g. Lookah Seahorse Pro or the RYOT Verb. And in fact there is one feature the Daboo has in common with the Seahorse; it is 510-threaded on the tip, so you can swap in a cartridge and use it for a vape battery too.

Your humble penguin will confess: I’m not a huge fan of nectar collectors. I guess I am spoiled for choice and came to dabbing too late to appreciate the nostalgic charms of using a honey straw. Nectar collectors always struck me as a primitive way to dab: Ogg heat stick, suck honey smoke. Why get the whole tub of concentrate involved in the tip of something you will have to clean meticulously, when you can do all this with a quartz banger and pop it in rubbing alcohol afterwards? Nectar collectors require manual dexterity and careful handling, while my dab rig can safely sit on the table and offer a draw hands-free. Here I am waving the tip of this thing around when it’s heated up to some 680°F, just asking for a burn.

shoot-your-eye-out

Be that as it may, nectar collectors seems to be hugely popular with you lot out there, and I’m not about to question the wisdom of the cannabis crowd. Nectar collectors are compact and efficient, I guess, but this conversion aspect is, I feel, often overlooked.

XMax-Daboo11

It fits a 510 vape cartridge!

Verily! Thread off the honey straw tip and behold, a threaded socket which will attach any 510-threaded vape cartridge.

XMax-Daboo8

Which will work that way! I had no idea that you could use a cart backwards all this time, since my colleague reviewed the Lookah Seahorse. Not only that, but it works darn well, and now you have a vape battery with a bubbler. Which can also be used in nectar collector mode.

XMax-Daboo3

XMax Daboo From Box to Puff

The XMax Daboo includes:

  • Daboo unit / battery
  • USB cord
  • glass bubbler tube
  • spare tip
  • spare gaskets
  • well-written, clear manual

When charging the unit, the power indicator will show green at full charge. After charging up the unit, you have to fill the glass bubbler with water only up to the red line.

XMax-Daboo4

It is much harder to remove water from the tube than it is to fill it, so I’d advise using a squeeze bulb or syringe as opposed to running it under the sink.

The glass bubbler slides right into the unit from the back. Take the cap off the tip, and hit the power button:

  • 3x click turn on/off
  • 2x click to change temperatures

XMax-Daboo-temp-lights

Those temperatures are green (545°F), white (608°F), and red (680°F). The LED on the glass side will illuminate it.

Easy Use, Disassembly, Cleaning

The XMax Daboo comes apart in several components where it’s easy to get at the parts with a Qtip. In vape cartridge mode, it amazes you by letting you vape off an upside-down cartridge that somehow doesn’t leak out the mouthpiece (at least not for me yet?). In nectar collector mode, the tip melts right into your concentrate and allows easy draws.

The two use modes are 20-seconds on demand (hold the power button) and draw active (don’t press the button but just have the unit on). It’s so intuitive that you’ll get the hang of it in a few minutes.

XMax-Daboo10

The XMax Daboo is a Fun Handheld Unit

It fits great to the hand, with a form factor that is close to using a writing implement. As long as you keep the tip capped, you can set it down without worry of encountering the hot tip. And of course, the cartridge mode makes this not just a good dap pen, but one of the best cart batteries you’ll likely have too.

On the whole, I’d recommend the XMax Daboo as a handy two-in-one unit with efficient design, a compact hand-friendly build, and a versatile device for consuming concentrates in both loose and cartridge form. At a price of $46, the XMax Daboo is a few dollars cheaper than the Lookah Seahorse Pro while offering nearly an identical set of features. Find the XMax Daboo here.

Pulsar APX V3 Vape Review – Ultra-Compact Yet Powerful

pulsar apx v3 vape review

Today we will take a three-part look at the new Pulsar APX V3, their latest series of ultra-portable dry herb and extract vaporizers. Pulsar currently offers an assorted variety of dry herbs & extract vaporizers, bongs, dab rigs, various pipes, and accessories. We have previously reviewed their flagship Rok E-rig here. They have sent us three different kinds of vaporizers from their APX V3 family. For this review, I will try out their APX V3 Vape dry herb vaporizer.

Pros:

  • Ultra-compact size
  • Surprisingly strong airflow
  • Excellent flavor
  • Very easy to clean
  • Incredible value

Cons:

  • The device can get very hot

Recommendations: None

pulsar apx v3 vape inside-kit

The ultra-compact Pulsar APX V3 Vape is light yet powerful

The surprisingly strong Pulsar APX V3 Vape is easily one of the smallest dry herb vaporizers I’ve seen on the market. This dry herb vaporizer fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, which makes it ideal for outdoor activities and travel. More compact and discreet than the XMAX V3 Pro, this light yet powerful dry herb vaporizer delivers exceptional hits with excellent airflow. The 1600 mAh battery lasts around 1 ½ to 2 hours of continuous usage, about as long as the LTQ Vapor Curer. Upon opening the kit, you will find the following:

  • APX V3 Vape unit with a plastic mouthpiece
  • Cleaning brush
  • Replacement filters (2)
  • USB-C charging cable
  • Metal pick tool (located at the bottom of the unit)

pulsar apx v3 vape contents

The features of the Pulsar APX V3 Vape, along with the rest of the collection, has been made for maximum ease of use and convenience:

  • Remove the mouthpiece by lightly pulling it towards the button interface side of the unit.
  • Fill the ceramic chamber with your ground herb up to three-quarters full.
  • Gently tap down the ground herb using the metal pick tool that slides out from the bottom of the unit.
  • Remove any excess herb from the top base of the unit using the cleaning brush included in the kit.
  • Reattach the mouthpiece onto the unit.
  • Turn on the unit by pressing the power button five times in rapid succession.
  • The color of the LED that lights up the APX logo will indicate the current battery life. (green for 100% – 60% power level, orange for 60% – 20% power level, and red for 20% – 0% power level)
  • Adjust the temperature setting by pressing and holding the power button down for 3 seconds until it cycles and lands on your preferred heat setting.
  • Inhale through the mouthpiece slowly once the unit vibrates after 30 seconds of heat-up time.

pulsar apx v3 vape display

The Pulsar APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces much better clouds than the RYOT Verb

When examining the inside of the unit, the APX V3 Vape uses a cylindrical heating chamber most similar to the XMAX V3 Pro, which uses stainless steel instead of ceramic. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape features five temperature settings, which is indicated by the number of boxes flashing on the menu screens: 374°F, 392°F, 410°F, 428°F, 446°F. Even at the lowest temperature setting of 374°F, the APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces better clouds than the RYOT Verb. At the next highest setting of 392°F, the flavor becomes more intense. At the third highest setting of 410°F, the potency starts to gain strength.

Overall, I found most flowers best enjoyed at the fourth temperature setting (428°F). At 428°F, I was able to enjoy the most amount of vapor while still retaining much of the flavor without tasting harsh. The highest temperature setting at 446°F is the new Cash feature available for this version, which helps clear the chamber at the end of the session. This feature produces even bigger clouds; however, it can be harsh with dry flower or specialty flower, such as Delta-8 hemp flower.

Not only is the Pulsar APX V3 Vape easier to use and carry around, but it is also easy to clean on the go with the metal pick tool that slides out, which is located at the bottom of the unit. The only part to clean in this device is the ceramic chamber, which can be swiftly cleaned with the pick tool. Then, all that’s left to do is wipe down the exterior, the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece filter.

Overall, the Pulsar APX Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for under $100

The final verdict: The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for its ultra-compact size, surprisingly strong airflow, and incredible value. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is even more compact than the XMAX V3 Pro and hits much better than RYOT Verb. It may lack the versatility of XMAX V3 Pro or the water filtration of the LTQ Vapor Curer, but it is the most compact dry herb vaporizer that still hits exceptionally well. Additionally, it’s much cheaper than most dry herb vaporizers out right now. You can find the Pulsar APX V3 in a variety of different colors and designs here.

LTQ Vapor Curer 3 in 1 Review – Excellent Versatility

ltq vapor curer menu review

Today we will take a close look at the Curer 3-in-1 vaporizer kit from LTQ Vapor, which works with extracts, flower, and oil. LTQ Vapor also offers E-Nails, wax pens, and other accessories. The full retail price for the Curer 3-in-1 Vaporizer is listed for $75.94. However, this is currently on sale for $59.99 at Vape4Ever. We will detail our experience objectively as always in our non-affiliate reviews. For this review, we will assess the Curer 3-in-1 vaporizer mainly for its ability to work with flower and extracts.

Pros:

  • Unique yet discreet design
  • Excellent versatility
  • Solid performance
  • Better with flower than extracts
  • Features a removable water filtration tank

Cons:

  • Can get easily clogged using extracts
  • Slightly harsh when using extracts

Recommendations: None

ltq vapor curer box

The Curer 3-in-1 Vaporizer is a pocket-sized multi-purpose vaporizer with a removable water filtration tank

The Curer 3-in-1 Vaporizer is a pocket-sized multi-purpose vaporizer in the form of a flask-like device. One of the best features is that the kit includes three switchable coil atomizers for extracts, flower, and oil. The best feature of the Curer is that it has a removable water filtration tank. However, it can get easily clogged when working with extracts. The Curer uses a ceramic angled mouthpiece, whereas other similar vaporizers use a glass mouthpiece. In fact, the ceramic angled mouthpiece for the Curer is most similar to the one provided for the Starry 3.0 dry herb vaporizer.

The contents inside the kit include the following:

  • Curer vaporizer
  • Extract coil atomizer
  • Dry herb coil atomizer
  • Oil coil atomizer
  • Dab tool
  • Cleaning brush
  • Duckbill valve
  • 1 set of alcohol swabs
  • 2 sets of 3 O-rings
  • USB-C charging cable

Using the LTQ Vapor Curer for the optimal experience:

  • Charge the Curer if needed. (The USB port is conveniently located on the side of the Curer.)
  • Remove the water filtration tank and fill it with 1/3rd of water.
  • Choose an atomizer (extracts/flower/oil).
  • Screw the atomizer onto the 510 thread base of the battery.

Tastes slightly harsher than the Pulsar APX V3 Volt and the Auxo Cira, but more efficient than the XMAX Qomo

I should say first off that using the Curer vaporizer with extracts is surprisingly smooth and efficient with great airflow. The extract atomizer for the Curer uses a ceramic chamber with a titanium coil around a quartz rod. When dealing with extracts in the Curer, less is more as only a rice-sized amount placed on top of the coil is enough for a session or two. This will also prevent any clogging of the air circulation within the water tank. In my experience, the consistencies that are easier to work with the Curer are live resin diamonds, diamond sauce, and/or sugar. Overall, I found that other consistencies, such as live resin badder, budder, and sauces, would taste slightly harsh at higher temperature settings.

Although the temperature settings range from 140 degrees to 600 degrees Fahrenheit, most concentrates tasted fine between 450 degrees to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the titanium coil within the atomizer, the Curer tastes slightly harsher than the Pulsar APX V3 Volt and the Auxo Cira. On the other hand, the performance of the Curer is more efficient than the XMAX Qomo, which uses just a ceramic heating element for its atomizer.

Just as strong as the XMAX V3 Pro or the Pulsar APX V3 Vape, but much smoother than the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the RYOT Verb

Next, the flower atomizer for the Curer also uses a ceramic chamber with a titanium wire mesh along the interior wall of the atomizer. Using the Curer vaporizer with flower is just as strong as the XMAX V3 Pro or the Pulsar APX V3 Vape dry herb vaporizer. Furthermore, the flavor is still much smoother than the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the RYOT Verb with its removable water filtration tank. Similar to the temperature settings for extracts, most flower tasted best between 450 degrees to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. If you desire larger clouds, the temperature setting between 500-600 degrees doesn’t sacrifice too much of the flavor either. Unlike when using extracts, there are little to no clogging issues when this device comes to flower.

The LTQ Vapor Curer is easier to clean than the Pulsar APX v3 Wax, but harder to clean than Pulsar APX v3 Volt, RYOT Verb, and XMAX V3 Pro

The Curer is relatively easy to clean and maintain as you only need to worry about the atomizers, the water filtration tank, and inside the 510-thread connection. First, remove the atomizer and clean the interior of the atomizer with an alcohol swab. Then, remove the water filtration tank and soak in alcohol. Finally, wipe the 510-thread connection base with a cotton swab lightly soaked in alcohol. Overall, it is easier to clean and maintain than the Pulsar APX v3 Wax, but harder to clean and maintain than the Pulsar APX v3 Volt, RYOT Verb and XMAX V3 Pro.

The LTQ Vapor Curer 3-in-1 vaporizer is recommended for unique yet discreet design, excellent versatility, and solid performance

So, respective of its place within the vaporizer spectrum, Curer’s ability to also work with flower and oil makes this more versatile than other similar vaporizers under $100. As an extract vaporizer, the LTQ Vapor Curer tastes slightly harsher than the Pulsar APX V3 Volt and the Auxo Cira, but more efficient than the XMAX Qomo. As a dry herb vaporizer, this is just as strong as the XMAX V3 Pro or the Pulsar APX V3 Vape, but much smoother than the XMAX Starry 3.0 and the RYOT Verb. In terms of maintenance, this is easier to clean than the Pulsar APX v3 Wax, but harder to clean than the Pulsar APX v3 Volt, RYOT Verb, and XMAX V3 Pro.

Reflecting on the product, I found that using the LTQ Vapor Curer as a dry herb vaporizer is much more effective than using it as an extract vaporizer, which tends to get clogged over time. Plus, the LTQ Vapor Curer would be excellent for travel and outdoor activities as it looks like an inconspicuous flask.

XMAX V3 Pro Review – Extreme Versatility

xmax v3 pro review

Today we will take a deep dive into the XMax V3 Pro from XMAX, one of the latest dual-use vaporizers that work with both herbs and extracts. Prior to this review, we have previously reviewed their Starry 3.0 here and Qomo mini E-rig here. XMax currently offers a varied selection of herb and concentrate vaporizers, including the XVape Vista Mini 2. The kit currently runs for $109.00 on their official website. We will detail our experience objectively as always in our non-affiliate reviews. For this review, we will see how the XMAX V3 Pro fares compared to other similar dry herb and extract vaporizers on the market.

Pros:

  • Extreme versatility
  • Solid performance
  • Great flavor
  • Not quite as expensive as others

Cons:

  • Doesn’t work well with extracts

Recommendations: This dry herb vaporizer is most effective when working with herbs rather than extracts.

The interface is easy to use, similar to the RYOT Verb dry herb vaporizer, Pulsar APX Vape, and others

The XMax V3 Pro is the newest dry herb convection vaporizer with the unique form factor of a portable wax pen. Similar to the RYOT Verb or the Pulsar APX Vape V3 dry herb vaporizers, the easy-to-use interface also includes only the power button and the two main temperature adjustment buttons.

One of the best new features for the XMAX V3 Pro is the addition of a glass mouthpiece and a glass adapter for your rig/bong

The XMAX V3 Pro has also made significant upgrades to the previous models in a number of versatile functions. In addition to the plastic mouthpiece, they have also conveniently included a glass mouthpiece. However, one of the best aspects of this device is its glass adapter and its capability to work with most glass rigs and/or bongs. The kit includes the following:

  • V3 Pro unit
  • Cleaning brush
  • 1 set of 3 cotton swabs
  • USB-C charging cable
  • 1 set of 4 alcohol pads
  • Instruction manual
  • 1 wax cup

The XMAX V3 Pro is easy to operate, whether you’re a novice or a seasoned pro

The interface on the OLED screen in front of the unit displays the following (starting from the top left corner):

  • The current battery life
  • The Fahrenheit/Celsius icon
  • The countdown timer
  • The temperature setting of your choice
  • The current temperature located at the bottom of the menu

The second most important upgrade of the XMAX Pro V3 is the dual-use as a flower and wax device with the provided wax cup. The heating chamber can accommodate most concentrates, including live resin. However, the wax cup isn’t as efficient as its flower heating chamber. Like Starry 3.0, the battery life is 2600mAh, and the temperature ranges from 212°F – 428°F. Similarly, both devices from XMAX are able to work with herbs and extracts.

The convection oven shape and size most resembles the Pulsar APX V3 dry herb vaporizer

While the heating oven for the Starry 3.0 and the RYOT Verb is more rectangular in shape and wider in diameter, the oven in the XMAX V3 Pro is slightly deeper. The battery life and performance of the XMAX V3 Pro are about twice as much as the RYOT Verb. Its overall design and form factor is similar to the Pulsar APX V3 dry herb vaporizer. However, the Pulsar V3 Pro dry herb vaporizer feels slightly stronger and more efficient with better vapor production and quicker heat-up time. I found 428 degrees Fahrenheit to be sufficient enough for most herbs, including Fleetwood greenhouse flower from Claybourne Co. this week.

xmax v3 pro screen menu

Although the V3 Pro kit includes a wax cup, this device is better suited for using herbs than extracts

Based on my experience, the heat settings aren’t high enough for using extracts for this device. Since this device is considerably weak when it comes to dealing with extracts, I would recommend looking elsewhere for a better extract vaporizer, such as the VLAB Halo, the Waxmaid Ares, and the Ispire Wand.

Cleaning and maintaining the V3 Pro is very easy and simple as the only thing to worry about is the convection oven chamber

After each usage, empty the oven chamber of all herbs then swab the inside of the oven chamber by using a cotton swab with isopropyl alcohol. To charge the device, the USB charging port is also located at the bottom of the device. A set of 3 cotton swabs, a cleaning brush, and a few alcohol pads are included in the contents of the kit.

The XMAX V3 is easily one of the best new dry herb vaporizers for its extreme versatility, solid performance, and great flavor

All things considered, I would highly recommend the XMAX V3 Pro dry herb vaporizer for its extreme versatility, solid performance, and great flavor. While Pulsar APX Vape V3 dry herb vaporizer is stronger and more efficient than the XMAX V3 Pro, the overall battery life and performance of the XMAX V3 Pro is much better than the RYOT Verb. The retail price for the XMAX V3 Pro is also not quite as expensive as other similar dry herb vaporizers, such as the PAX 3. You can find The XMax V3 Pro, which is available in black and silver, on their official website here.

Fleetwood Flower Review – Surprisingly Great Flavor

fleetwood pb souffle jar flower
fleetwood pb souffle jar flower

For today’s flower review, we will take a look at Fleetwood Flower Company, which provides budget value greenhouse flower eighths from Claybourne Co. This is my first time trying “full-spectrum greenhouse flower”. To put it simply, it’s essentially their mixed-light flower, which is primarily separated by two main categories: the red label (which are their regular nugs) and the black label (which are their small nugs). For our review, I will try their mixed-light PB Souffle greenhouse flower.

Pros:

  • Surprisingly great flavor
  • Above-average potency
  • Very smooth
  • Fair price

Cons:

  • None

Recommendations: None

At first glance, this cannabis brand design and logo feels like one for a boxing gym and equipment company

The packaging for Fleetwood Flower stands out from their parent company brand, Claybourne Co, with its bold red and black labeling. The red label offers traditional-sized nugs for volumes of 1g, 3.5g, 7g, 14g, & 28g. On the other side, the black label features small-sized nugs for 7g, 14g, & 28g at budget prices. The eye-catching logo for Fleetwood Flower feels more like one designed for a boxing gym and equipment company than a cannabis brand, which looked intriguing. Upon opening the jar, there are six decent small to medium-sized nugs.

fleetwood pb souffle close up

These generous-sized well-manicured nugs were slightly larger than those in a bag of smalls, like Fun Uncle from Caliva

This week, I picked up an eighth of PB Souffle, which was first created from a joint collaboration between pHinest Cannabis and Cannarado Genetics. PB Souffle is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Do-si-dos and Lava Cake. The soft, sticky yet dense nugs of PB Souffle look properly trimmed and manicured. The mossy surface of the nugs was mostly key lime green with short light brown-ish orange pistils and a sprinkling of trichomes. The generous size of these nugs was slightly larger than those in a bag of smalls, like the nugs in Fun Uncle flower eighths from Caliva

This greenhouse flower was also fresher, tastier, and more potent than the Fun Uncle smalls from Caliva

The sweet, spicy, and floral aroma of PB Souffle is also creamy, nutty, and skunky. Its rich, smooth and silky aroma also possesses notes of chocolate, berries, citrus, and earth. Spicy pungent notes of coffee, pine, mint, and pepper are also present in their aroma after the grind. The flavor of PB Souffle tastes similarly sweet, gassy, and floral, combining the minty cookie earthiness of Do-si-dos with the peanut butter creaminess of Lava Cake. The effects of PB Souffle felt calm, relaxing yet alert with more of a slightly more Indica dominant effect. The effects made this ideal for late evenings and nighttime with its initially heady high. Those cerebral effects are counterbalanced with an almost weightless mood of steadily increasing relaxation.

This is one of the best options for greenhouse flower eighths with similar quality or may even be better than other similar budget brands

The full retail price for Fleetwood flower eighths is usually listed for $40 per one-eighth, pre-tax.  Personally, I would easily pick up the flower eighths from this brand over any bag of small nugs. In my opinion, this is one of the best options for greenhouse flower eighths with similar quality or may even be better than indoor small nugs from other similar budget brands. Compared to other brands, this is definitely better than most indoor or outdoor smalls in terms of quality, trim, and cure. When using a dry herb vaporizer, the flavor of PB Souffle was nuttier, earthier, and creamier. The total THC % of PB Souffle is 26.73%, the CBD % is 0.0%, the total terpenes % is 2.90% and the total sum of cannabinoids % is 30.33%.

fleetwood pb souffle jar back

All in all, Fleetwood flower eighths are recommended for their surprisingly great quality with strong potency and solid flavor at a fair price

My final score: I would recommend Fleetwood flower eighths for its surprisingly great quality with strong potency and solid flavor. Equally impressive is the price, which is at only a slightly higher price range than other small outdoor and/or sun-grown nugs. Note: When using a dry herb vaporizer, the temperature setting felt perfect between 420 degrees Fahrenheit on the RYOT Verb and 428 degrees Fahrenheit on the XMAX V3 Pro.

You can find most Fleetwood flower eighths, which are available in regular and small nugs, with their official website here or on Weedmaps here.
