We were somewhere around Altoona, on the edge of the cornfields, when the gummies from Delta Extrax – Adios Blend Purple Berry Splash, 350mg each – began to take hold. I remember saying something like “I feel light-headed, I’m sure glad you have the wheel” to my wife of 30 years this August. There were no bats – we had left the desert far behind – but the battalions of squirrels watched us intently from every tree, proof, I mansplained to her as she jockeyed for a parking space, that squirrels are the new government surveillance robots. Or at least in the story script I was scribbling in my notepad said so.

I am here to report that 350mg of any cannabinoid hits like a truck, especially when it’s a live resin formula. Thus, on a day when I decided we should run some laundry and whatnot errands around while the rain had let up, I was a bit stir crazy and moving at one speed off an “Adios Blend” which I had experimentally paired with 50mg of pure delta 8 from other gummies and a shot of Cannaflower’s CBD tincture.

My beloved is used to this behavior – she knew what she signed up for by marrying a career author, albeit the cannabis vertical tends to lead to more adventurous situations – and valiantly pulled off most of the labor while I tripped out in the coin-op massage chair that had wandered into the laundromat from a nearby dead mall. As the chair was gripping me in a most unsettling way, I decided not to mention the squirrels any more. The poor lass would see them soon enough.

The only downside to me here is that I do not know the exact mixture of cannabinoids we have per dose. The company tells us “THCA, HXY9-THC, Delta-9P, Delta-8” in a live resin blend. A little background on this product; Delta 9 IS a Sativa, the amount that the company puts in a gummy is possible because of the 2018 Farm Bill (CBD products are legally allowed to contain 0.3% Delta 9 THC by dry weight) and their gummies are bigger than most because of this dry weight! The gummies weigh 4 grams each and they are supposed to be very potent, so max amount of gummies allowed to consume is ONE. These gummies came in four flavors: Mellow Melon Watermelon, Rowdy Raspberry, Super Strawberry, and Mango Madness, all of them sounding very yummy. I’ll be reviewing all the flavors to determine the flavors and the effects.

Have you had a gummy and all you could taste is a medicinal weed flavor? I’ve had this happen more often than not, but not with these gummies. When it says mango, that is the flavor you get and there is no aftertaste/lingering flavor of weed at all. They are like super gummy bears! Unfortunately, that seems to be the only plus about these gummies.

I got my friend involved and had them take a half gummy, while I took a full one to see if the effects would vary. On the packaging, it says the max you can take is one gummy and not to go over that amount and the effects would kick in after an hour. After waiting an hour and another hour, I can say the effects were very underwhelming… I felt my muscles feel a little less tense, but not by much. It sort of took the edge off and that’s it. This occurred with each of the gummy flavors.

Is this recommended?

Not really… these each cost about $35 and I feel that there are other brands that have a better effect as well as the pricing.

TRE House D8 Live Resin Cart Review – Solid High for Under $20

They sent us two strains to try: GS Cookies and Green Crack. Each cartridge is 1 gram and is filled with “hemp-derived live resin Delta 8 THC.” I puffed on each of the two cartridges and enjoyed both of them. They were surprisingly stronger than I thought they would be, which means that they can probably last you a long time. Would I grab these again? Let’s find out:

I know I say this with every TRE House review, but they always excel with the packaging! The carts came in two boxes that were shaped like houses (get it…like Tre House). The packaging was covered in those cute little doodles and when you opened it up, the cartridges were inside another sealed bag that was also covered in colorful doodles. The packaging also had the strain category right on the front, so I knew right away if I was dealing with a Sativa or Indica.

The carts aren’t that costly, and you get a good amount of product

The cartridges are the standard plastic kind that can fit into pretty much any 510-thread battery. The cartridges are full. They definitely don’t short you on any of the live resin. These carts go for $16.99 on the Ethereal Gold Dispensary, so you’re definitely getting bang for your buck.

Both strains are potent and give euphoric highs

I tried Green Crack first because it’s a Sativa and I had a few things to get done during the day. An energetic high was definitely the way to go. The cartridge didn’t have a huge taste besides the normal weedy flavor that most live resin has. I took a couple of puffs and already started to feel a buzz. By the fourth puff, I was sufficiently high. I thought I would be more functional, but actually felt more euphoria than I thought I would, so I wasn’t able to dive right into work. But, it was a nice pre-work high for sure.

Later in the day, it was time to go for an Indica vibe, so I tried out the GS Cookies strain. I took a few puffs and felt the high kick in, although I did feel more stoned. As with most Indicas, I felt a relaxing body high that helped take the edge off of the day. It made for a great end to a productive day.

Both of the cartridges had high-quality effects for a low price, and in this financial climate, I couldn’t ask for anything more.

For this review, Ethereal Gold Dispensary sent me a Tre House D9 + CBD Cookie. Luckily, I was able to restrain myself so I didn’t end up buzzing into the stratosphere. I started off with a quarter than an hour later I ate another quarter and boy oh boy did I feel it! This is a great-tasting cookie, and it’s definitely high in potency. The cookie tastes good; almost too good

I’m pretty sure Cookie Monster is my spirit animal because I very aggressively love chocolate chip cookies.

TRE House needs to drop its cookie recipe because this edible D9 + CBD Cookie was A1. It had a hint of a weed taste, but not too much to deter me from enjoying it. It was super hard to just start off with a quarter of the cookie, but I’m glad I did because these are POTENT.

High potency, and a nice stoned experience packed with euphoria

Make sure you eat this with caution and don’t eat the whole thing. This cookie is packed with 40mg of a 1:1 ratio of Delta 9 and CBD. I dosed myself with 10mg at first by eating just a quarter of the cookie. I definitely started to feel it after the quarter, and I probably could have stuck with just that, but this is a review after all. After an hour passed, and I started to feel that dosage, I took another 10mg.

Half of the cookie is definitely enough for me. It should be enough for anyone. TRE House backs up this sentiment with a warning on the back that says, “DO NOT CONSUME MORE THAN HALF A COOKIE IN ONE SERVING!”

I felt very euphoric and giggly high after 20mg. It took the rest of the evening and sleeping it off for it to wear off, so make sure you don’t have intensive plans when you take it.

High Hopes and Hometown Hero D8 Flower Review – Two Bongs up!

I received three jars of Delta 8 flower from Ethereal Gold Dispensary: High Hopes Sour Suver, High Hopes Sour Hawaiian, and Hometown Hero Raygun. I sniffed and held and smoked a little of each and there was an instant favorite – by a mile! The Hometown Hero, Raygun has a distinctly sweet aroma and a sugary flavor, smooth and rich. It leans towards a sweet cigar vibe. I loved it. After sharing the three strains with a friend our unanimous, hand-down favorite is Raygun. I love the label too, that is in support of veterans.

The Raygun was my favorite

The Sour Suver and Sour Hawaiian were also sweet-leaning and rich smelling – just milder. They each brought a nice buzz, but I found them both a little harsh on the throat. The Raygun, however, was just a delicious, in-your-face, yet smooth kiss of sweetness, not harsh at all. Yup, that’s my jam. I would very much enjoy each of these products on their own. Having all three in the room at once, I’m going straight to the Raygun. There is something special about it.

Perusing the massive Ethereal Gold Dispensary web store I felt the prices were reasonable. I’m very happy with the high I get from all of these flowers, just love the Raygun.

Bottles can be a bit tricky

The Raygun is spendier than the Sour Hawaiian and the Sour Suver but I would pay for it. My only nitpick with these lovely products that I will savor to the last crumbs in the jar – I can’t get those damn child-proof lids off! Seriously I really struggled with the lids and I don’t get why? I usually have to find a child to get into bottles like that. Kidding, but I truly struggled with the lids. Otherwise, I give these products two bongs up!

Delta Extrax Splats Collection Review – Tasty But Leaky

I got to try two Splats Collection live resin disposable vapes from Delta Extrax. These vapes contain a mix of HXY9-THC + THCM + HXY8-THC. These are 3.5G each and feature a preheat function which I love. It makes the first pull so much smoother.

The taste and smell are great

I got to try the Kandy Kush and Death Star strains which are Sativa and hybrids respectively. They both taste great but the Kandy Kush especially tastes and smells like Skittles which I love. The Kandy Kush was surprisingly my favorite in terms of effects as well. Normally I don’t think I really enjoy the head high of sativas but this one was hitting just right. It didn’t make me too in my head where I feel like I have more thoughts than I could possibly know what to do with and it becomes overwhelming. It was just a nice mood lift with a bit of anxiety relief.

Death Star

The Death Star strain was great with less mood elevation but more anxiety and pain-relieving effects. I think this is a better everyday kinda strain because of these are the most prominent effects. This one tastes really good as well. A bit more like cherry I think but still not quite as good in the taste department as the Kandy Kush. Both strains feature THC – 8, THC – 9, and live resin.

Problems with the hardware

As much as I enjoyed the high from the Delta Extrax products (my expected result at this point of familiarity with the brand), I did have one issue. Both vapes but specifically the Kandy Kush started having large amounts of the live resin coming out of the mouthpiece. I know sometimes a tiny bit might get in your mouth like the vape version of scooby snacks but this was different. It was so much coming out that I have to believe the specific product I got was not working as it should. Honestly, there was so much concentrate coming out of the mouthpiece that instead of letting it go to waste I definitely just scraped it off and hit it as a dab.

This high was super intense which is why I know the actual cannabis product within the disposable is high quality. I just think the two pens that I used were maybe part of a faulty batch. I have tried a lot of different products from Delta Extrax and they were always great so I was surprised by this difficulty in using the products. Because although fun, it definitely made me use and lose the products much more quickly than I generally would.

Concluding this review

All in all, I think this was an isolated issue. As I said before, I have tried a lot of different Delta Extrax products and never had this issue before. And with an incredible high from both the Death Star and Kandy Kush strains, I would still recommend you give them a try. The taste, euphoria, and stress relief were really unmatched by these products. I can’t wait to try some more products from Delta Extrax in the future.

Botany Farms Delta 10 Cart Review – Decent High

The latest cart I got to try was the Pineapple Haze 1G from Botany Farms. This strain is a Sativa that has notes of pineapple, mango, and cream according to the label. It has 78.8% cannabinoid content including 57% Delta 10 THC. All this sounds great and the packaging was really cool but honestly it was just a tad underwhelming.

So I tried this vape using one of my favorite batteries and it was ok. I definitely enjoyed the high, but that is pretty standard for most strains I try. This one although claiming notes of different fruit just tasted a bit more like vanilla cream. While this isn’t a bad-tasting cart it is not what expected nor what I prefer. I really prefer indicas & hybrids over sativas for the effects, but sometimes the sativa effects are worth the sweet citrus-flavored strains. I am not sure why but I feel like more often than not the strains containing my favorite notes are sativas. So I will still use them although it is my least favorite of the three types. However, this one missing the notes that I felt would be my favorite part of the strain took away from the experience a bit for me.

Solid high

Aside from the flavor, the high itself was pretty OK. I prefer the chill body high of an indica but regardless the head high was solid. I enjoyed the energetic feel and although I don’t think this one gave me much of a creative boost it still gave me a bit of anxiety relief and that is by far more important to me.

Another thing I noticed about this cart, which may be a product of me not loving sativa in general is that I need a pretty big hit to feel the effects, although they seem to last pretty long. The cart I tried was only 1G but it seems to be lasting me longer than my other carts of the same size. The longer hits were still pretty smooth too.

Concluding this review

So overall Botany Farms makes a solid product but I think this strain really just wasn’t for me. Between the sativa strain and the fruit notes I felt were a bit lacking I think they probably have some really good products I would enjoy, but this just was not the one for me. I know some people will love that it keeps you energetic and probably helps others feel more creative. I didn’t exactly notice a boost there but I think that is because the calming fact of indicas & indica dominant hybrids is what helps me tap into my creativity.

Botany Farms makes a decent product that will definitely get you high and doesn’t taste too bad either. It does seem though as if this was just not really the strain for me specifically. Make sure to check out their other strains online to see which probably fits you best!

I could swear that we would have gotten around to reviewing a product from The Trusted Lab before. I have heard of them kicking around the cannabis industry here and there. In any case, better late than never: We’re catching up on three products in their line.

The Trusted Lab Uses Packaging For Adults

For once, I had edible gummies that weren’t packaged like candy. The Trusted Lab omits all cartoon mascots and “trippy” psychedelic lettering for informative, sensible packaging. Everything is clearly marked, dosage spelled out, and ingredients listed.

The Trusted Lab makes a whole line of a hundred some products, venturing well beyond cannabis into just plain vitamins and supplements. So they understand something about shelf-ready product packaging. When the day comes (and oh what a day ’twill be!) when legalization has advanced to the point that they offer D9 in the vitamin section at Target, The Trusted Lab is ready.

These samples also came with a detailed info card about CBD and its uses. On the whole, I would definitely rate The Trusted Lab to be geared towards medical and therapeutic users.

Dosage and Potency on the nose!

So once again, I had the daunting challenge of a 3-bottle line-up of cannabis edibles. You have to remember, I have to space these out so they isolate the effects, plus not get too baked to work. All tests below are geared to my tolerance.

Starting with the D9: These are gummy worm shapes, 30 count per bottle, 15 MG D9 THC per piece, 450MG D9 THC per bottle. I’ve been managing my tolerance a bit lower, so I took three in the AM and they gave me just enough stony buzz to get me through to afternoon. These are also marked “limited edition.”

Next the D8: These are gummy fruit slice shapes, 30 count per bottle, 50MG D8 per piece, 1500MG D8 per bottle. Mind that dosage! While D8 is weaker in effect than its isomer counterpart, 50MG is a more awkward serving size – taking them in multiples adds up fast. I took one and it was enough to grant me a limited D8 aura for a couple hours.

Finally the CBD + vitamin C: These are gummy fruit slice shapes, 30 count per bottle, 50MG CBD per piece (+ 500MG vitamin C), 1500MG CBD per bottle. I appreciate that we’re seeing CBD combined with vitamins now. Of course the effects of these are hard to detect, CBD having no psychoactive effects to speak of, but they do have some effects relieving tension and aches.

All three were a bit less fresh than I’d prefer, but given the pharmaceutical nature, they were just about like any vitamin gummies you’d get off the shelf at the store.

Higher Price, But Higher Quantity and Quality Standard

Going by the prices on The trusted Lab site…

The D9s are $52.50.
The D8s are $82.50.
The CBD+vitamin C is $70.00.

Now, those prices come with a couple caveats. The first is that The Trusted Lab’s site appears to have sporadic sales on items, so these prices might fluctuate. The second is that these are substantial products. $50+ is nearly a bargain for 450MG of THC, just considering raw dosage. The D8s at $80+ are the biggest case for sticker shock, but we are still talking 1500MG of D8 per bottle. The CBD with vitamin C also raises an eyebrow, but I have seen comparably expensive CBD out there.

On the whole, I’d recommend these for the serious cannabis consumer taking it for medical or therapeutic reasons. But don’t let that stop you from popping a few of the D9s or D8s to catch a buzz, because they do what they say on the label.

Delta Munchies HHC Disposable Review – Strong and Tasty

I recently was given the chance to try two Delta Munchies disposable vaporizers. I tried both the strawberry sunset and apple gelato flavored 2-gram vapes. The design is pretty sturdy yes still keeps the buttonless model that is so common with vaporizers. I don’t know if I really prefer the buttonless designs to those with temperature controls but this one is pretty solid I think. It will start to feel a bit weak as it’s losing charge but just connect it to a micro USB and everything should be OK. The vaporizers have a purple LED light on them to show if they are charging or activated.

Fully charge to experience the best effects

As far as the flavors go I assumed the strawberry would be my favorite but think I prefer the apple. Both strains are hybrids and the effects feel nearly identical. When the vapes are not fully charged, it is a bit hard to determine which is which, to be honest. However, when they are fully charged they provide some of the smoothest long pulls of any vaporizers I have tried. One thing I did notice about this is that I don’t think there is an auto-off function on the vape. Which, while kind of fun would lead me to suggest proceeding with caution on the longer pulls. And if not then prepare to be shot to the moon after your coughing fit finishes.

Pretty strong for an alternative cannabinoid

One thing I would note is not to let the candy flavors make you forget these are pretty strong products. Momentarily forgetting this fact led to me getting a bit higher than I intended to. I don’t think it was a “bad high” or anything just that I wasn’t ready at that moment. Luckily I was just at home watching Netflix so no big deal.

The one thing I did notice is that some of the more stimulating effects of Sativas seem to be absent in these strains. They are definitely still hybrids but they both feel more Indica-dominant than anything. I would be interested to see how their Indica and Sativa strains feel individually.

Concluding this review

Overall Delta Munchies make pretty solid products. I like the design. The purple LED is good with me because it’s not green (I cannot stand getting told on by my vape). I recommend charging them fully before you head out because if you forget it just won’t be hitting the same. The difference is a bit striking to me honestly. If I had rated these on a less-than-full charge we would probably be at about a 6.5 overall. They taste OK, if not a bit weak in terms of the intensity of flavor and the high is kind of whatever, neither good nor bad. But give these a quick charge until the LED shuts off. Completely different experience. On a full charge, this has got to be at least an 8.6. Really smooth pulls without feeling like you’re deflating a pool toy. Really nice jolly rancher-esq kinda taste from each flavor.

Delta Munchies HHC Cart Review – Smartly Done and Affordable

I assumed the package from Delta Munchies contained some tasty gummies. To my surprise and delight Delta Munchies sent me two HHC vape cartridges, a Sativa – Maui Wowie, and a hybrid – Granddaddy Purple. I consumed them both gleefully until they were gone and still can’t decide which flavor I like better.

Maui Waui and Granddaddy Purple

The Maui Waui had a peachy kinda flavor, and because the Granddaddy Purple box was purple my brain decided it was more of a grape-ish flavor. I don’t know how else to describe them but the flavors were a hit. I will say I have come to appreciate disposables more than cartridges. And I had to go out and buy a battery because mine had died. So I appreciate it when vapes show up that are good to go. But it was worth the drive and the money to fire these up.

Different high

The high of each was very different. The Sativa was my go-to delight for daytime. It was a very nice, mellow buzz that I could function with and enjoy all day. Ole Granddaddy was my night night juice. A couple of good pulls and it was lights out. A perfect combination.

The site of the company is very informative

I give Delta Munchies a 10 out of 10 for their website. I have perused dozens of manufacturers’ websites as a professional reviewer, and this was the best site I have visited. Not that I am science oriented so I need to be treated like a layman, with no understanding. I find this industry extremely science heavy and difficult to understand. This site helped me understand cannabinoids, the process, and the legalese, and more, better than any site I have ever visited.

Most of all, what I appreciated is that they admitted that science is fairly new and evolving, and they don’t get it all either. But I understand it better thanks to Delta Munchies.

One piece of information they posted that was really helpful was that they believed the cartridges were good for 350-400 pulls. I have never seen that information before. That helps me evaluate the value. $25 for 350 pulls of pleasure is a great price.

I loved these products and I really respected the company website. Two thumbs up to Delta Munchies. Great products, affordable, and smartly done!
