In our continuing series on the fake cartridge epidemic, today we’ll have a look at Cali Carts.

Cali Carts?

These follow the same methods as other fake carts. The packaging is shipped from China to states in the US where cannabis isn’t legalized yet. In the case of Cali Carts, they’re showing up all over California in the Bay area and L.A.. Even though recreational cannabis is legal there, the carts are going for much cheaper than the legitimate market.

In the case of this company, the original name seems to come from Cali Plug. They call themselves a “premiere social lifestyle brand” (huh?). They don’t appear to distribute cannabis, THC, or CBD products of any kind. They have a “merch” category on their site that seems to be empty for now. As far as we can tell, they hold events of some sort.

Apparently the name of this “brand” is lifted from there. Here’s one example of a “Cali Cart” package found in the wild on Reddit:

As is typical for fake cartridges, the more outrageous the packaging, the more likely it’s fake. But notice that they did lift the same “Cali” logo from Cali Plug. The packaging is all over the place. There’s this style, more conservative designs, and everything in between.

Cali Carts have been spotted with the following flavors:

  • Birthday Cake
  • Zkittles
  • Trix
  • Lemon Pound Cake
  • Fruity Pebbles
  • Gelato
  • Cookie Punch
  • Slushy
  • Cookies
  • Nerdz

This is another red flag. Trix is a registered brand name of General Mills. Fruity Pebbles is a registered brand name of Post Foods. It’s obviously a stretch to imagine either one of those companies licensed their brands to THC products.

Finally, here’s a big red flag:

Legitimate packaging comes with certifications and marks of commercial dispensary disclaimers.

There’s a batch number, a manufacture date, a contact phone number, potency tests, and so on. This is the mark of a company distributing through a dispensary. It’s a regulated system, as far as possible.

Which means anybody could be obtaining the packaging for pennies per unit, filling them up with whatever they have laying around, and selling it. There might even be legitimate cannabis involved somewhere in the process, sometimes, but it’s all a gamble.

In our standard closing moral: The only way to be sure you’re getting legitimate product is to buy from the dispensary or the manufacturer, which will only be available in a legal state.

Is Cali Plug listening?

Several reviewers report attempting to contact this Cali Plug company to find out if they know about this. So far nobody seems to answer. If anybody has more information on either Cali Plug or these cartridges and where they’re coming from, help us help everyone with your tip in the comments below.

I’ve been adding more plugs on my Snapchat, and most of them have Cali carts so that’s why I’ve been trying to research if it’s legit or not, because the thing that caught my eye is it doesn’t have the red thc logo like everything else does, it’s like a white triangle with a weed symbol and something else in it, and then under it says CA. None of the plugs that have them post reviews like other customers do, so that’s gotten me sus too. The comments seem somewhat helpful, I think people are right that it’s a gamble type shit. But if anyone has info on the logo I was talking about lmk

  2. Just bought one in Alabam where weed is still super illegal. We have CBD products and Delta 8 everywhere but I was surprised to find these here for only $20 a gram. I’ve gone to a legal shop in I Illinois and they’re $70+ for half a gram. So I’m super suspicious as to what this is. I hit it a couple times and it’s better than the expensive one from Illinois, but why so cheap, and why sold in an illegal state? It’s not delta 8, it’s not thc, it’s not CBD, so what is it? Skeptical

  3. Cali carts here in nj now-sealed small box that has a hollagram that you scan with your phone that takes you to a link that says the products real. Sounds fake as f. Plastic cart it appears and in a flavor of gobstoppers and wedding nerds for $40 a full gram cart. Haven’t tried them yet but my dealer is trusted.

  5. I bought a calicart lastnight, and , so far, I’m pleased. Normally, I only get carts from the dispensary, but, it’s an hour away and we’re having horrible snow….. So, I broke down and bought a cart from my dude.. his bud never disappointed, so I wasn’t too worried. I’m definitely lifted, my pain is gone, and I’m super hungry.     1. You have to find the owners or his runners real snapchats, the owner is a dude with a bald head and he has hella chains and is always showing his brand ads and money on his story.
    2. I don’t really think caliplug.net is real, I’ve really only seen him conduct buinsness on the Telegram app, or if you contact him through snapchat etc.
    3. another reason why CaliPlug.net seems fake is because the Owner himself always advertises his “pounds of his flower” cost “4k” and above, that site sells Ps for about 2-2.5k which isn’t even near Exotic or indoor prices unless they lied to you.

    • I have a legit question here. I live in VA and though they have decriminalized it somewhat its still not legal. I have managed to obtain quite a few of these Cali plugs with different names and flavors that are name brand names like. Kool aid, Gobstopper, and sweettarts. I called the phone number from calibudornobud.com. gets redirected to a google subscriber is unavailable. To top the icing on the cake the live chat service is also about useless mo response to my questions. So really whats actually going on.

  14. Is there anyway to test my cartridge?

    I’ve got one that is a Caliplug with the logo on the tip like pictured above.
    It says on the packaging Aurum Fabrica premium distilled cannabis oil.
    No percentage.
    No manufacturing info.
    It’s Girl Scout Cookies.
    It also has the triangle with the pot leaf and an exclamation mark inside it with CA under it.
    I haven’t smoked it bc I’m unsure if it’s safe.

  23. All of these black market “fake” carts really do vary in quality. I had a fruity pebbles Cali plug cartridge that was uncut raw distallite and it tested cat 3 at amazing levels! I also had one of those boxed “legit” ones and it was much darker and cut with some sort of terps can’t be positive if it was cannabis derived terps or something else, the distallite failed all safety tests with a pesticide level 4x the “safe” limit. The Distallite is more important and the quality of these cartridges vary very wildly

    • I got one in a box and it’s a root beer flavor and I got a churro flavor, I didn’t look up the cart before buying it but the guy sells legit with labels and scan codes an all that but I didn’t keep the box I threw it away soon after I got them and it hits pretty good, the oil moves slowly but it dosent have any markings on the cart just the logo, I don’t feel sick after smoking them so I don’t think I’ll buy it again just in case because it seems risky

      • The package i have is a black box with a plug cut out where the cartridge is peeking through. The cart comes inna little mini doob tube , has a gold textured screw off bottom with like a red silicon piece in it as well. Inside of the cart , it has cali plug written in the coil or metal piece that is inside or the cartridge. Also that piece is a lot thicker as well. Lastly on the bottom part of the cart , it has the letters CBONB which is their slogan cali bud or no bud. This cart is pretty official.
