Today we will take a three-part look at the new Pulsar APX V3, their latest series of ultra-portable dry herb and extract vaporizers. Pulsar currently offers an assorted variety of dry herbs & extract vaporizers, bongs, dab rigs, various pipes, and accessories. We have previously reviewed their flagship Rok E-rig here. They have sent us three different kinds of vaporizers from their APX V3 family. For this review, I will try out their APX V3 Vape dry herb vaporizer.
Pros:
- Ultra-compact size
- Surprisingly strong airflow
- Excellent flavor
- Very easy to clean
- Incredible value
Cons:
- The device can get very hot
Recommendations: None
The ultra-compact Pulsar APX V3 Vape is light yet powerful
The surprisingly strong Pulsar APX V3 Vape is easily one of the smallest dry herb vaporizers I’ve seen on the market. This dry herb vaporizer fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, which makes it ideal for outdoor activities and travel. More compact and discreet than the XMAX V3 Pro, this light yet powerful dry herb vaporizer delivers exceptional hits with excellent airflow. The 1600 mAh battery lasts around 1 ½ to 2 hours of continuous usage, about as long as the LTQ Vapor Curer. Upon opening the kit, you will find the following:
- APX V3 Vape unit with a plastic mouthpiece
- Cleaning brush
- Replacement filters (2)
- USB-C charging cable
- Metal pick tool (located at the bottom of the unit)
The features of the Pulsar APX V3 Vape, along with the rest of the collection, has been made for maximum ease of use and convenience:
- Remove the mouthpiece by lightly pulling it towards the button interface side of the unit.
- Fill the ceramic chamber with your ground herb up to three-quarters full.
- Gently tap down the ground herb using the metal pick tool that slides out from the bottom of the unit.
- Remove any excess herb from the top base of the unit using the cleaning brush included in the kit.
- Reattach the mouthpiece onto the unit.
- Turn on the unit by pressing the power button five times in rapid succession.
- The color of the LED that lights up the APX logo will indicate the current battery life. (green for 100% – 60% power level, orange for 60% – 20% power level, and red for 20% – 0% power level)
- Adjust the temperature setting by pressing and holding the power button down for 3 seconds until it cycles and lands on your preferred heat setting.
- Inhale through the mouthpiece slowly once the unit vibrates after 30 seconds of heat-up time.
The Pulsar APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces much better clouds than the RYOT Verb
When examining the inside of the unit, the APX V3 Vape uses a cylindrical heating chamber most similar to the XMAX V3 Pro, which uses stainless steel instead of ceramic. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape features five temperature settings, which is indicated by the number of boxes flashing on the menu screens: 374°F, 392°F, 410°F, 428°F, 446°F. Even at the lowest temperature setting of 374°F, the APX V3 Vape heats up quicker and produces better clouds than the RYOT Verb. At the next highest setting of 392°F, the flavor becomes more intense. At the third highest setting of 410°F, the potency starts to gain strength.
Overall, I found most flowers best enjoyed at the fourth temperature setting (428°F). At 428°F, I was able to enjoy the most amount of vapor while still retaining much of the flavor without tasting harsh. The highest temperature setting at 446°F is the new Cash feature available for this version, which helps clear the chamber at the end of the session. This feature produces even bigger clouds; however, it can be harsh with dry flower or specialty flower, such as Delta-8 hemp flower.

Not only is the Pulsar APX V3 Vape easier to use and carry around, but it is also easy to clean on the go with the metal pick tool that slides out, which is located at the bottom of the unit. The only part to clean in this device is the ceramic chamber, which can be swiftly cleaned with the pick tool. Then, all that’s left to do is wipe down the exterior, the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece filter.
Overall, the Pulsar APX Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for under $100
The final verdict: The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is the best new dry herb vaporizer for its ultra-compact size, surprisingly strong airflow, and incredible value. The Pulsar APX V3 Vape is even more compact than the XMAX V3 Pro and hits much better than RYOT Verb. It may lack the versatility of XMAX V3 Pro or the water filtration of the LTQ Vapor Curer, but it is the most compact dry herb vaporizer that still hits exceptionally well. Additionally, it’s much cheaper than most dry herb vaporizers out right now. You can find the Pulsar APX V3 in a variety of different colors and designs here.
