Phinest Cannabis Live Resin Review – Smooth and Affordable

Share

Today we will take a look at Phinest Cannabis, whose live resin extracts are derived from tissue culture, which is a collection of techniques to maintain or grow plant cells, tissues, or organs under sterile contaminant-free conditions. This special technique is used by Phinest Cannabis to produce cannabis clones in a method called tissue culture micropropagation for their live resin concentrates. In fact, this is also an Apex Extractions collaboration. Previously, we reviewed Apex Pinnacle live resin cartridges here. Currently, Phinest Cannabis offers flower eighths and concentrates throughout California. I’ll take a look at the pros and cons of Phinest Cannabis live resin grown from tissue culture.

Pros:

  • Solid quality
  • Smooth taste
  • Above-average potency/effects
  • Affordable prices

Cons:

  • Slightly weaker than other live resins

Recommendations: Potency could be improved, especially for the live resin badder.

Both look milky white in appearance while Lava Cake has plenty of THC-a crystals

This week, I picked up two live resin concentrates from this collaboration between Phinest Cannabis and Apex Extractions, one Wedding Pie badder, and one Lava Cake sauce. The Wedding Pie badder looks milky white in appearance, similar to Bear Labs. The Lava Cake has a saucier consistency, similar to the live resin from Wox Extracts with its larger THC-A crystals. While the Wedding Pie badder was easier to handle, the Lava Cake sauce had quite a few big chunky THC-a crystals surrounded in a wet clear-looking HTE sauce.

Similar in potency to Lemonnade, the Live Resin Project and PFFN Concentrates

Wedding Pie is an Indica dominant hybrid strain between Wedding Cake and Grape Pie. The aroma of Wedding Pie is sweet, fruity, and floral with hints of grapes, berries, and lemons. The taste is similarly sweet and fruity, but a bit earthier with a creamy, berry aftertaste. The effects of Wedding Pie felt calming, relaxing, and focused. This strain was great for late afternoon or a post-workout dab. The most dominant terpenes for Wedding Pie is myrcene, which is good for pain relief and caryophyllene, which is good for stress and anxiety. Both terpenes have strong anti-inflammatory properties that help with pain relief, stomach issues and inflammation. However, the potency of the Wedding Pie live resin badder felt similar to the live badder from

Lemonnade, the Live Resin Project, and PFFN Concentrates.

The Wedding Pie was tastier and easier to handle, Lava Cake felt more potent with larger THC-a crystals covered in HTE sauce

This week, I also picked up their Lava Cake sauce. Lava Cake is an Indica dominant hybrid cross between Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies and Grape Pie. The aroma of Lava Cake is sweet, fruity, and pungent with hints of grapes, berries, and chocolate. The taste of Lava Cake is similarly sweet and fruity with a hint of creamy mint on the exhale. The effects of Lava Cake sauce felt similar to the Wedding Pie badder, yet slightly more potent. This strain was perfect for a relaxing evening after work and/or to enjoy during the weekend. Overall, I preferred the Lava Cake sauce for its potency/effects with its larger THC-a crystals. However, the Wedding Pie badder has better flavor and consistency.

Slightly lacking in potency, compared to Wox Extracts, MX Brand, and Friendly Farms

The pricing for Phinest Cannabis live resin is usually around $30-35 for a gram, pre-tax. In my opinion, this is recommended for its taste, smoothness, and price. However, both of the Phinest live resin concentrates felt slightly lacking in potency, compared to Wox Extracts, MX Brand and Friendly Farms cured sauce. A nectar collector and/or low temp in a glass rig is preferred to get the best taste and desired potency

I would recommend Phinest Cannabis for its solid quality, smooth taste, and affordable price

In conclusion, this would be a mild recommendation for its solid quality, smooth taste, and affordable price. However, both live resins felt slightly lacking in potency, compared to Wox Extracts, MX Brand, and Friendly Farms cured sauce. The quality and potency felt similar to the live badder from Lemonnade, the Live Resin Project, and PFFN Concentrates. I would recommend the Lava Cake sauce for its potency/effects with its larger THC-a crystals and the Wedding Pie for its flavor and consistency. Currently, Phinest Cannabis offers flower eighths and concentrates throughout select dispensaries and delivery services in California.
