DabX Rocket Mk. 1 Review – Very Efficient Performance and User-friendly

Share

Today we will take a look at the DabX flagship device, the Rocket mk. 1, which has been gaining a lot of popularity in the past few months. The rocket mk. 1 was invented by DabX founder Chris Rado, a former professional racecar driver who initially wanted to build a better designed and safer product to help his father with various ailments. Currently, the DabX Rocket Mk. 1 runs for $249.99 on their website. We will detail our experience objectively as always in our non-affiliate reviews, as we will try the Dab X rocket mk. 1 and see what it has to offer.

Pros:

  • Very efficient performance
  • Extremely user-friendly
  • Uniquely portable size
  • Great battery strength
  • Excellent taste

Cons:

  • Requires a glass rig/bong

Recommendations: None

The rocket mk. 1 improves upon the Freeze Pipe E-Nail in overall efficiency, taste, and battery strength

The rocket mk. 1 is a new user-friendly E-Nail that improves upon the Freeze Pipe E-Nail in overall efficiency, taste, and battery strength. It also has the added benefit of easier maintenance, stronger battery performance, and even better portability. Once you get to know how it operates, this small yet powerful E-Nail is extremely easy to use. The DabX rocket mk.1 is also designed to fit most rigs, bongs, and recyclers, though 10mm and 18mm male and female adapters are sold separately. One of the key differences is that the DabX rocket uses a ceramic heating plate, as opposed to the quartz dish within the chamber for the Freeze Pipe E-Nail. Upon opening the box, you will find the following: Free Fire for PC

  • 1 rocket mk. 1 device
  • 1 1500mAh USB-C battery
  • Spare ceramic atomizer
  • A magnetic travel cap
  • A titanium dab tool
  • 1 USB-C charger
  • A set of 3 spare o-rings
  • A glass adapter stand

The main difference between the DabX rocket mk.1 and the Freeze Pipe E-Nail is the temperature control

While the Freeze Pipe has slightly more precision and control with its adjustable temperature settings for the veteran user, the DabX has four primary heat settings that are perfect for even novice users:

  • Blue (380 – 400 degrees) which is best for live resin sauces/sugars or smaller amount of extract
  • White (400 – 420 degrees) which is best for live resin badders/cold cure/live rosin batter or larger amount of extract
  • Green (420 – 440 degrees) which is best for shatter/diamonds/any heavier crystalline structure
  • Red (440 – 470 degrees) which is best for larger diamonds and/or large rigs/bongs/recyclers

Overall, I was impressed by how well it can work with most, if not all, concentrates

Specifically, the two lower temperature settings work the best for live resin sauces, sugars, and badders. The higher temperature settings work the best for shatter, fresh press live rosin, and diamonds. For instance, the white setting works the best for live resin badders, cold cure live rosin, and live rosin batters. However, it is advisable for you to start at the blue setting and work with what’s best for you.

Operating the rocket mk.1 in just a few easy steps:

  • Charge the battery using the USB-C charger
  • Once the battery is fully charged, turn on the DabX by pressing the power button five times
  • Attach the battery to the mk. 1 unit (which will attach magnetically)
  • The DabX logo flashes twice to verify the connection
  • The DAbX logo flashes red if the connection isn’t recognized
  • Fill your rig with ⅓ rds water
  • Insert the mk.1 rocket onto your rig
  • Load your extract onto the atomizer
  • Press the power three times to set your preferred temp setting
  • Press the power button twice to activate heating
  • Press and hold down the power button to extend your hit after the initial launch session

In terms of performance, the strength of the DabX rocket mk.1 feels just as efficient, if not a bit stronger than the Freeze Pipe E-Nail. Although I like the easily adjustable temperature control of the Freeze Pipe E-Nail, the DabX takes the guesswork out of the equation with its four main heat settings. Like the Freeze Pipe E-Nail, this E-Nail is perfect for either group sessions or sessions on the go as it is compact enough to take to the beach or camping with friends or family, minus the rig.

Cleaning the DabX rocket mk.1 is much easier than the Freeze Pipe E-Nail

The cleaning and maintenance for the DabX rocket are easier than the Freeze Pipe E-Nail, where the quartz dish inside the chamber is not removable. Since its parts are detachable, it is much easier to clean and maintain. At times, no cleaning is even required as the DabX rocket since the extract is effectively vaporized in small amounts. However, if you want to deep clean the DabX, just disassemble the DabX rocket by unscrewing the atomizer and pulling out the glass adapter. Then soaking the atomizer, the bypass valve, and the glass adapter in 91%+ isopropyl alcohol. In addition, the bypass value can also be taken apart for further deep cleaning by unscrewing the button housing and removing the button along with the spring underneath. The only drawback for the DabX rocket mk.1 is that you will need a glass rig/bong, as you would with the Freeze Pipe E-Nail.

The DabX rocket mk.1 also wins for easier maintenance, stronger battery performance, and even more portability

In conclusion, this is an even more compact and user-friendly version of the Freeze Pipe E-Nail. The DabX is highly recommended for its easier maintenance, stronger battery performance, and even more portability than the Freeze Pipe E-Nail or other similar E-Nail systems. Its unique mobile design, easy assembly, and simple-to-use features make it a perfect session for on the go or outdoors with friends/family. In addition, it is a lot less messy and much easier to clean than other similar E-Nails. Although you can dial up to your precise heat setting on the Freeze Pipe E-Nail, the four primary heat settings make it quick and easy to use for even the novice user.

The DabX Rocket Mk. 1 currently runs for $249.99 on their website here. Have you tried it? Let us know what you think in the comments or on our forum.

  • Sorry I would have do say I love my dab X I use it everyday and for last 3 years and I’m still using my first atomizer & I smoke all kinds of rosin / diamonds ya name it but to each is own have a good day

  • I’d have to disagree, I’ve had the dabx for about 4 months. I liked it for about a week. Then the battery did want to fire, it just melted my dabs into reclaim. Then I had to argue with the company to get a new battery. It still doesn’t work. Plus the customer service was a bit rude for no reason. And the first person to email me back had the email name “dab daddy”, like wtf is that. Also only certain dab works in this device because of the stupid reverse airflow. Overall it’s a waste of money and I’m having to talk to customer service again to try and return this $250 POS.
