Kushstock : The Best Cannabis Festival You’ve Probably Never Heard Of

Cannabis festivals come and go, some of them leaving us wanting for something more. Most of them are expensive, over-commercialized, and just not as much fun as they should be. Kushstock is one that gets it right, and they may tentatively be having an event this Halloween.

Is Kushstock on for October 31^st?

Obviously with the COVID-19 pandemic, festivals and any large event gathering have been canceled. It was no different for Kushstock’s scheduled April 19^th event, which was canceled this year due to the pandemic. But they still have an event at Adelanto Stadium & Events Center, Adelanto, San Bernardino County, California, scheduled for October 31^st, 2020, and all signs indicate that it might be on.

We have signed on to Kushstock’s mailing list and will keep this post updated with events as they get announced. If the event is canceled, we’re sorry to get everybody’s hopes up, but that’s life during a pandemic.

COVID-19 Outdoor Gathering Policies in Southern California

Currently, some outdoor events do seem to be allowed in the region. We will focus on San Bernardino County in a moment, but the page at Santa Clara County has so much better information on the subject.

First the state verdict:

• Indoor gatherings prohibited
• Limited outdoor gatherings are allowed for worship, cultural ceremonies, and protest events
• Face coverings required except for eating, drinking, (smoking), public performance, etc.
• Social distancing required = six feet apart except for immediate household members
• Hand hygiene, such as hand sanitizer, recommended

So it sounds like it can maybe be allowable.

As of our most recent information, San Bernardino is still reporting “more than seven new cases or more per day per 100,000 residents and a testing positivity rate of more than 8 percent.” However, Adelanto is on the outskirts of Victorville, on the desert side of the San Bernardino mountains, so well away from the crowded Los Angeles area. There may be less concentration of infections there.

For San Bernardino County, their website has a COVID-19 news blog right on the front page. From what we can gather, “restaurants, gyms, and places of worship can operate outdoors.” We bring up “worship” here because the cannabis lifestyle has frequently been defended on religious or cultural grounds, and if outdoor church services are allowed, there’s a lot of argument for other lifestyle and belief systems to have equal time.

Bottom line: Don’t quote us on *anything* here, we make no guarantees. But we still have the whole month of October to go through yet, so restrictions may loosen in time. Members of the cannabis lifestyle have a great opportunity to set an example – practice good pandemic hygiene, observe all safety precautions, and we should be fine. On the other hand, if we could have gotten everybody to observe safety precautions in the first place, this pandemic never would have gotten this bad to begin with…

Kushstock : Free to Attend

Kushstock is free to attend for general admission, adults age 21+ with valid ID. Fast Pass is $10, VIP tickets also available.

From their FAQ:

• no medical recommend required
• out of state can attend
• consumption allowed on premises
• no dogs allowed – service animals excepted
• ATMs present

Much more information is available on their website. The Kushstock Instagram and Twitter channels are also active, so maybe give them a shout-out to find out what’s going on.

Kushstock : “By the People, For the People”

As you can guess from the name, Kushstock seeks to replicate the legendary Woodstock festival. They include live entertainment with the event, and the vendors and booths include a lot more than just cannabis business. For example, they host glassblowers too.
