Few strains are as sought after as Wedding Cake. It’s one of those strains legendary for its effects, and a very popular strain in distillate cartridges and dabbing extracts.

Wedding Cake is a crowd-pleaser

Typical Wedding Cake flower has vivid green nugs with a golden tint, and sticky white trichomes. Despite the name, Wedding Cake’s aroma is mostly earthy and floral with a hint of sweet smell. The taste is also not like wedding cake, but an almost tart, earthy flavor. The name, instead, comes strictly from its vanilla-frosted appearance and its lineage, though perhaps the name also carries a hint of ironic intent. Wedding Cake hits like a Sativa, with a notably high potency that warrants caution for novice users.

Wedding Cake’s pedigree comes through the same cultivator as Gelato

Wedding Cake is an Indica-dominant strain developed by Seed Junky Genetics, the same cultivator behind Gelato. Wedding Cake mainly comes from a cross between Girl Scout Cookies and Cherry Pie, while also being a phenotype of Triangle Mints strain. Expert analysts have concluded that there are some Cookies genetics in the strain.

Honors

Wedding Cake won “Best Hybrid Flower” at the 2018 SoCal High Times Medical Cannabis Cup. It also was named “Strain of the Year” by Leafly for 2019, and took first place at the 2019 Karma Cup awards. Wedding Cake is a popular strain for extracts and distillate, due to its rich, abundant trichomes which make it ideal for extraction methods.
