Watch Out For Fake Flav Cartridges

0
old flavrx packaging

Joining our growing group of fake cartridges, Flav has become the latest cartridge brand to be the target of the Chinese counterfeit cartridge market. Formerly known as FlavRX, many of the cartridges you see will be fake FlavRX branded carts.

Fake Flav Carts Are Out There

Flav cartridges are everywhere. They’re a heavily marketed brand and no wonder they are a target to be faked. They’re active on social media. We’ve reviewed a Flav cart, for those curious to compare the real cartridge experience.

First thing to look for: Now it’s Flav, not FlavRX

flav cartridge
Here’s an authentic, recent Flav cartridge. The RX is gone.

Here’s an easy tip-off: Flav has changed their branding recently, no longer to be known as FlavRX. Here is their website’s product list. So any products being sold under the FlavRX branding currently are fakes, unless it’s the rare case of a retailer selling off old stock.

Flav is active on combating counterfeit cartridges

We are at least blessed with one company which is vigilant in warning the public of knock-off imitations. Here they are on Instagram, and here’s their Twitter. On Instagram, they posted this detail of how to distinguish their carts from imitation packaging:

fake flavrx cartridge

But note that’s for their old branding.

Because Flav is a multi-state brand with a wide range of products out there including edibles, it’s more significant that knock-off carts could be out there in the wild. Most people would at least see the brand as complying with established safety standards, to go that far.

Fake bath bombs might be the next thing.

A Recent Incident Caused By Fake Vape Oil

In Hanford, California, seven people were hospitalized with pneumonia-like symptoms triggered by using unregulated cannabis vaporizer cartridges. Two patients had to be put on life-saving mechanical ventilation. The incident prompted the King’s County Department of Public Health to issue this warning. That can serve as general wise advice to everybody, not just people in California.

Have you encountered fake Flav / FlavRX products in the wild?

Have you encountered a fake or Flav or FlavRX cartridge or another knock-off Flav product?

Fake Select Elite Cartridges: Now Spreading

14

Select Elite is one brand of vape cartridge that gets good reviews across the board. We certainly had no complaints about them in our Select Elite review. The flavor is not the greatest but they are consistently one of the best brands on strength and they are available in multiple states.

Fake Select Elite carts are now on DHgate

Which makes it a shame to see empty Select Elite carts show up on the market. They were one of the most popular brands that avoided being faked for a long time.  Below are fake Select Elite cartridges, sold directly on DHgate.

fake select elite

If you see puzzled reviews on YouTube asking what happened to the consistent quality, this is probably what happened. One of our reviewers has gotten over 15 Select Elite carts in both CA and NV and we can safely say they are one of the consistently strongest brands.

Sticker inconsistencies make it hard to tell if your Select Elite cart is real

Below is a picture of a real Select Elite cartridge and above you saw the fakes. The problem with Select Elite is the stickers are not always consistent. Different batches in different areas will have different stickers. Even within California the stickers can vary.

Below is a picture of a recently purchased Select Elite cart from California.

Select Elite cartridge dispensary

There is a sticker on the front and on the back in California. Select regularly gets excellent recommendations all around and the carts price up to $70, so it’s no wonder that the knock-offs want a piece of this action.

Below is a picture of the front of the packaging of a Select Elite Flo strain cartridge purchased in Las Vegas, Nevada. Notice there is no sticker on the front.

Now check the back below. The sticker on the back has information on THC percentages and the like. California has the back sticker too, but also has the front sticker summarizing details.

The lack of consistency in Select’s own stickering process makes it harder to identify fakes.

We recommend buying your cannabis oil products from a legitimate retailer and this will ensure you do not get a fake. Since counterfeits are getting so good that telling them apart becomes impossible, the biggest tip-off may be price. Selects seem to go for top dollar, so anything at a bargain probably isn’t.

Just because it is a fake does not mean it does not have THC in it or that it won’t give you any effects. It means the packaging is fake and the oil is not from the actual brand Select Elite. We try a lot of carts here, and we put Select Elite on our best cart lists for both California and Nevada. It is unlikely a random plug is going to make as good of oil as one of the best producers in the country.

Have you run into fake Select Elite carts?

And does the bubble test still seem to work for you? What other quality control tests have you identified?

Old Pal Cartridge Review: Best Potency for The Price

old pal cartridge review

Old Pal has a variety of products available for smoking and vaping. They sell flower and strain specific or blended vape cartridges. Like their aesthetics suggests, Old Pal makes their vape cartridges with simplicity in mind. They fill their cartridges with premium quality oil from sourced greenhouse flower.

They are inexpensive, but that doesn’t mean that they are cheap in quality. Old Pal is a California native, their farmers growing their flower in Humboldt county. Their products are widely available all throughout California and Nevada at really low prices. Due to the overall great value and product from Old Pal, they made our best THC carts list for California and Nevada.

For this review, we cover both the Old Pal’s Cosmic Indica cartridge from California and the Blue Dream Sativa cartridge from Nevada.

Pros:

  • Premium quality oil
  • Really good flavor
  • Very smooth hits
  • One of the cheapest brands on the market
  • No fillers or artificial flavoring of any kind

Cons:

  • Only available in California
  • It’s a little difficult to find information about the oil online

Licensing Information:

Recommendations: A glass cartridge body would be nice, but at this price maybe it’s unfeasible.

Check out our video review of Old Pal below, then keep reading on for the in-depth review.

Old Pal vape cartridges are surprisingly very good quality

old pal vape
Here is the packaging for the Old Pal cartridge.

For the price I paid, I didn’t expect much when it came to the quality of the cartridge. Surprisingly, the cartridge was a very good quality. The chamber that contained the THC oil was made of sturdy plastic and the mouthpiece was a pretty solid plastic mouthpiece. The oil within the cartridge has a mild but very delicious flavor. For this Old Pal Vapes cartridge review, I tested the Old Pal Cosmic Indica cartridge, which they fill with their blended oil.

The cartridges have a simple and sturdy design

old pal cartridge
The Old Pal THC cart looks pretty standard, but has a logo printed onto the side.

The body of the Old Pal cartridge that I tried had a solid design. The chamber was thick and strong, the mouthpiece was a firm and black see-through mouthpiece. Both the chamber and outhpiece were plastic and the chamber had the Old Pal logo on it. It also had the California cannabis warning sticker on it and that kind of threw the whole aesthetic out the window.

Old Pal oil seemed to be a really good quality

The oil in the Old Pal Cosmic Indica cartridge was a very nice clear brown color. It has a good thickness to it and it isn’t runny. I couldn’t find too much information about the oil online so I couldn’t say whether or not these cartridges were distilled or purified in any way. Either way the oil seemed very good to me in both color and smell.

Potency limited the amount of puffs needed to get high, which made Older Pal cartridges last a good while

The cartridge I bought was a half gram and it was filled nearly to the top. The cartridge burns probably just as fast as an average CCELL, but the potency got me high with minimal hits. Not having to vape often to keep my high going helped extend the oil within the cartridge. This cartridge will probably last me for a couple of weeks.

old pal test results

Old Pal nails the flavor of the oil in their high quality blended Indica cartridges

Old Pal’s Cosmic Indica cartridge is a blend of oils, giving Old Pal’s non brand specific oil a very unique flavor profile. It starts with a mild musty and almost spicy flavor. Beneath that is a zesty piney taste that lingers for a few minutes after you’ve finished vaping. This Old Pal cartridge was very flavorful but not overwhelming.

The Cosmic Indica cartridge had a surprising and potent high that lasted for several hours

This cartridge has one of the best highs I have ever felt. It only takes two or three puffs to start getting the effects The high steadily grows from there and ends up being very heavy. Old Pal’s high quality oil really offers a pure and enjoyable high that lasts for several hours.

Overall the Old Pal cart is a really amazing experience at a great price

Retailers sell the cartridges for as low as 15 dollars, and possibly as high as 25 dollars in some places. These prices are all before taxes and fees but they are still real good prices. However, the Old Pal cartridge was super potent and the high was excellent.

In California you are more likely to find it for $15 and in Nevada at Tsaa Nesunkwa, it was $25, plus tax of course. Carts are generally more expensive in Nevada than California. However, at both prices in both states, they are stellar.

Even if you pay $25 a cart in California for an Old Pal, it’s worth it.

Concluding our Old Pal cartridge review…

The Cosmic Indica Cartridge was excellent overall. Both the flavor and potency of this cartridge are some of the best on the market. The flavor was not overpowering and the potency was some of the best I have experienced in cartridges. At 15 dollars on Eaze.com, the Cosmic Indica cartridge by Old Pal are a great deal all around.

You can visit the Old Pal website to see all of their products. They keep it simple over at old pal and it shows in their products.

Timeless Vapes Review: Decent Taste and OK High

Timeless Vapes fill their cartridges  with high quality THC oil from premium medical grade flower. Originally from Arizona, Timeless Vapes handcrafts the flavor profile of all of their oils with terpenes to bring you really great flavors and a variety of strains. Timeless Vapes cartridges are widely available in California, Arizona and Oklahoma and you can buy them wherever most cannabis products are sold.

Pros:

    • Premium oil quality
    •  Great tasting flavor
    • Strong pulls with a lot of smoke
    • Large selection of flavors and strains
    • No fillers or artificial flavoring

Cons:

  • The oil can hit pretty harsh
  • The flavor is ok but leaves a bitter taste on the tongue

Recommendations: I believe that the information they provide on the packaging should be improved. Maybe include percentages of THC and CBD to show the costumer.

See below our video review on the Timeless Vapes cartridges. Continue reading to see a more in-depth review.

Timeless Vapes cartridges are overall great quality

Timeless Vapes have wonderfully manufactured cartridges. And they fit nicely in my universal 510 threaded vape pen. The oil that Timeless Vapes puts in their cartridges are exceptional quality distillates with naturally sourced terpenes. It’s those terpenes that give the oil it’s excellent flavor. For this Timeless Vapes review, I tested their SFV OG indica cartridge.

Cartridges have a solid design, use real CCELL

timeless vapes, timeless vape packaging, timeless vape carts

The vape cartridges have a nice thick chamber on them, and the mouthpiece is a nice smooth mouthpiece and that’s not a bad thing. The only problem is that the chamber and mouthpiece are both plastic. It actually makes the vape cartridge feel quite substantial and the overall feel of the cartridge is great, but I have a preference against plastic because the plastic can permeate into the oil because of the terpenes. The Timeless Vapes cartridges have a design that reminds me of Cresco cartridges, except those are glass.

Timeless Vapes cartridges have high quality distillate

The THC oil within the cartridges have been purified through a distillation process. However, the fine people over at Timeless Vapes made sure that the oil was also purged of any solvents that were used during the distillation process. What they leave behind is a really strong  tasting, solvent-free concentrate that hits a bit harshly but at least it has a fantastic amber color.

Packaging lacks information

timeless vapes, timeless vape packaging, compliance packaging

Although this isn’t too big of a deal, I feel I should reiterate that the packaging of the Timeless Vapes cartridge didn’t have any potency information about the oil. Some packaging, like the one for the Airo Pro, have very detailed information about the oil.

Decent flavor and uplifting high on the indica cartridge that was pretty light

I have never been a fan of  brands using terpenes to enhance the flavor of their oils and concentrates, especially because you can never know where they sourced their flavors. Timeless Vapes, however, enhances their distillates with natural terpenes for natural flavor. The zest of lemon and pine really make the SFV OG cartridge shine, but the pungent notes leave  very bitter aftertaste that settles for a while on the tongue. For an indica, the high on this Timeless Vapes cartridge was very light.

Timeless Vapes doesn’t have the best taste for potency

Usually a great tasting cartridge will hit very light but these cartridges got me high pretty quickly. It was an uplifting high that lasted for about a couple of hours of hours after a few big hits. Their distillate boasts a THC potency of over 80% but still hits a bit harshly. The high does build up nicely, though. When I think about the high, Select Elite cartridges are a great comparison, which I recommend for a smoother smoke.

Efficiency was not as good because oil vapes fast

The Timeless Vapes cartridge  was not the best at efficiency. It only took me about a day before I noticed that I had made a substantial dent in the amount of oil in the cartridge. I will probably be smoking it for the rest of the week, but i doubt that the cartridge will last past the weekend.

Higher heat made bigger clouds but effected taste

I tested the cartridge on all three settings on my pen. High, medium and low. When I put my pen temperature on  high I got satisfying smoke but it hit a bit more harshly than i would like. Also the flavor was effected a little. Set your pen on high if you want bigger clouds, but smoking on high also used up more of the oil, which is a problem.

Timeless Vapes has perfect flavor at medium heat

I recommend using this cartridge on a lower heat setting to enjoy all the nice terpene flavor. It also lets the oil last a while longer, but the star of Timeless Vapes is definitely the flavors. I found that smoking it on a medium temperature allowed more flavor and also helped with the bitter aftertaste.

I don’t think would buy Timeless Vapes again but I would smoke it in a pinch

timeless vape carts, time less vapes, loud pack concentrates

I didn’t really enjoy the experience I had with Timeless Vapes cartridges. It was very smooth and came at a good price, however the smoke was pretty harsh. There was also a heavy bitter aftertaste the oil left on the tongue. That was a bit off-putting.

Yet, with all of the flavors and strains available at Timeless Vapes I wouldn’t mind trying a few other cartridges. They have a lot of flavors to offer. They have so much variety and I’m sure I might be able to try some other flavors one day, and maybe have a better experience. .

Dabwoods: Background of THC Cartridge Company

15
dabwoods

Dabwoods is purportedly a cannabis company that makes THC cartridges and they have been showing up in legal and illegal states. This company is supposedly located in California and there is very little information to be found on them online. Although they are known primarily for selling backwood-flavored cartridges, they also distribute merchandise.

In this article, we talk more about the background of Dabwoods and where they come from. For information on how the product performs, check out our Dabwoods review.

There is no authentic information on Dabwoods

To begin with, this company has very little information on its background. They don’t have a website or any lab results. This makes it very skeptical to smoke, not knowing what exactly is in these cartridges. The only thing that we found is an Instagram account with various pictures of their flavors and merchandise.

Furthermore, we can’t confirm how authentic this company actually is. With no background, there is no telling if this company is simply another packaging company or a legit cartridge company. We did find a Dabwoods cartridge from a dispensary called Legendary Remedies on Weedmaps. But this dispensary also sells Cookies Carts, Chronic Carts, Cereal Carts, and more suspicious off-brand carts.

No lab results out for Dabwoods carts

As mentioned earlier, Dabwoods hasn’t released any sort of lab results for their cartridges. This makes their cart more susceptible to containing pesticides and artificial flavoring. Their package does claim to be over 85% THC but there is no proof to back this statement up.

From our experience, in our Dabwoods review, the cartridge didn’t feel as potent as it says to be. The oil was fairly dark and the high just wasn’t that strong at all. It didn’t taste artificial, but we can’t be sure with no tests out

A lot of fake cartridges are ending up on the streets

fake dabwoods packaging
Online vendors sell these packages with empty cartridges, allowing vendors to pre-fill them with any oil they’d like.

When looking this company up, you can find the packaging itself for sale online. This causes many vendors in many illegal states to pre-fill them with whatever they please. With this in mind,  Dabwoods can’t be fully trusted because you don’t know what’s actually in the distillateWhether or not Dabwoods is a brand itself, they definitely have a problem with fake cartridges.

What makes Dabwoods different is the hardware they use

dabwoods oil quality
Unlike most cartridges, this ceramic cartridge uses a unique wooden tip to go with its brand.

What Dabwoods prides itself on the most is its cartridge. They use a unique, wooden tip cartridge that contains a full gram of distillate. At first, it looks a lot like a CCELL cartridge, but it doesn’t have any serial number on the bottom of the cartridge itself.

Therefore, it appears to be a clone and not a fake CCELL, but from our experience, the hardware is decent and gives smooth hits. The

To sum up, Dabwoods is not as reliable as it can be

We can’t say that this company is safe or trustworthy because of the lack of information there on it. There’s just no saying if this is another street cartridge or an authentic company. Aside from this, the black market is distributing a lot of fakes. There is no telling how to differentiate real and counterfeits.

Aside from all of this, there is still no telling if they contain pesticides or residual solvents within the distillate. With many legit brands out, we don’t recommend you this cartridge, you never know what’s actually in them. Your best choice would be to get from a licensed dispensary if you are in a legal state.

As we get more information we will keep updating this post. If you have the information you would like to add, please comment below or post in our forum!

Cookies Cartridge Review: Decent, Not Great

Cookies cartridge review

Cookies cartridges are decent. I expected it to be a lot better than average just because there are many out there who have said Cookies flower is amazing quality. However, the High Flyers Cookies cartridges we tried turned out to be an average range THC vape cart and one of the strains we tried was better than the other two. It is priced lower than others and is a good value for someone that does not want a super strength THC cartridge.

Unless the Cookies cartridge is made by High Flyers, it is not real. If you are researching Cookies carts or have one and not sure on it’s authenticity, see our guide on how to spot a fake Cookies cartridge.
Pros:
  • Quality CCELL hardware
  • Low cost
Cons:
  • Stronger options available
  • Taste not so great

Licensing Information:

Recommendations: Make them stronger and taste better.

Check out the video review below on a Cookies cart, or keep reading on for the more in depth review:

Cookies cartridges need improvement, not very strong or tasty

cookies gelato, lemchello and cookies strain cartridges
Left to right is Cookies, Lemonchello and Gelato. Here we review all three strains.

All around, the Cookies cartridge is not a bad value even for the not-as-good strains. At the dispensary I went to they were only $30 a pop when other cartridges were $35 for a half gram. The Cookies were actually on clearance so maybe that might just be a temporary thing but at $30 a pop, they are not bad of a deal.
If we are paying the same as other carts though, other choices are stronger, tastier, and have longer lasting effects.
Their namesake Cookies strain cartridge is the best compared to the other strains we are hitting.  The three strains we have are: Gelato, Lemonchello, and Cookies. Cookies Gelato and Lemonchello are very similar in taste and strength.
The carts themselves do not have strain labels, nor do other brands, so we labeled each picture with which strain is shown.
cookies lemonchello cartridge
Cookies Lemonchello cartridge

Might be for the value stoner looking for less strength

After trying three I think for the value stoner who does not need a blow you away cart, any of the Cookies carts are a good option. However, I think you are technically getting a better deal by spending an extra $5 and getting something stronger for those of us looking for strength.
I also bought an Aces Extracts Energy disposable pen at the same dispensary I bought the cookies at for $42, and thought it was a better value because it was so much stronger. It tasted better too. Select Elite is also stronger and is available at most places Cookies are. Cookies does taste better than Select carts though.

Cookies is extremely popular and popularity does not always equal to the best product

High Flyers Cookies packaging
The front packaging shows the sticker with the flavor and THC percentage on it
I’ve heard their flowers are some of the best but when it comes to carts it seems like their trying to make a more budget friendly line than something that is super fire. The Cookies strain however stood out as a better cart than the other two.
The other two were about average. In a way Cookies reminds me of Brass Knuckles. Tons of hype over the brand, but the product is not so hot.
Here are some brands that I think are stronger than Cookies, even the Cookies strain, that are also available in California: Airo Pro, Select Elite, Aces Extracts and Raw Garden. In Nevada, Roots, Remedy and Cannavative are choices stronger than Cookies.
To see our overall top picks, check out our best cartridges lists for California and Nevada.

Cookies cartridges use top notch hardware

Cookies uses standard CCELL cartridges particularly the ceramic top TH2. These are known to be extremely reliable and have a very low failure rate. On top of that they give an extra kick to the hit that a lot of the clones are just missing.
Overall you can never go wrong with CCELL hardware, whether its a standard cart, the Dart, or the Uno.  and quite simply its just one of the best companies out right now. Cookies definitely chose the right hardware when they picked the TH2. It’s preferred over the M6T plastic CCELL carts since in case something fails, it is easy to get the oil out. Plus you can refill the TH2 much easier.

The oil that they use on this cart seems good, but it’s not as refined as better options

cookies cartridge
Here is the namesake Cookies strain, the best of the bunch.

Looking at it just on an eye test it does not seem nearly as refined as what you would find on better carts like Raw Garden. It does appear that these are properly tested so we hope that they come out clean on pesticides and they probably do. At some point we will send them for testing
However, there’s something here that is missing, maybe extra refinement step or something like that but it’s just not at that higher end level of oil. Comparing distillate to distillate, Aces Extracts and Airo Pro both seem like they are made using a better process than used on the High Flyers Cookies carts.

High Flyers Cookies cartridges have decent strength just not super strength

I would say on strength, Cookies is about in the middle compared to other legal, legitimate carts. It is definitely better than your average street cart.
Side by side compared to Airo Pro, Select Elite and Aces Extracts which seem to be available at the same dispensaries that also carry Cookies there really is no comparison. The other two brands just blow Cookies away. They are all also a bit more expensive, but the cost is justified.
Cookies cart
A much more closer look on the cartridge with oil and logo on it.
This does not mean that their flower is not strong. We have come to realize that making good carts has absolutely no connection to making good flower.
On the Nevada end you can take a look at a company like Kabunky. Their flower is actually quite terrible, definitely in the bottom 25% of the state. However, their cartridges are really top notch and even made our best cartridges in Nevada list. On the other hand Cannabiotix makes some of the best flower, but you will find in our Cannabiotix cartridge review, their vape carts disappoint. I would not doubt that Cookies is like Cannabiotix.
Mostly, people have given good reviews on Cookies flower. However the carts just aren’t that strong. Sure there are plenty of fakes out there as well, but now that we have the real thing in hand, it’s not very impressive.

High Flyers Cookies cartridges strength test results

Below you will see the THC percentages for all three strains we tried. Cookies came in the strongest at 86.7% THC, followed by Gelato at 85% and Lemonchello at 82.8%.

cookies strain test results
cookies lemonchello strain test results
cookies gelato strain test results
THC percentages are not everything when it comes to strength, as Airo Pro’s Mountain Mist, even when it tests in the 70s, is stronger than any of these Cookies carts. Here though the namesake Cookies strain is the best of three.

Taste was not great had a bit of a CO2 like taste

The oil in the Cookies cartridges did not taste like a really fine distillate. Airo Pro, Aces Extracts, and Raw Garden beat Cookies hands down on taste. It was not awful though, and I do prefer it’s taste to some of the old-school CO2 oils that are still out there. Tastes better than Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) too.
Cookies carts taste had a CO2 oil taste to them as opposed to that distillate only taste you get out of Aces. It was not the type of CO2 taste that is really good like the W Vapes syringe, but more of that CO2 taste that was more prevelant a couple years ago than it is now.
However, these are distillate cartridges its just something about their process. The taste is a little bit off. The Cookies strain did taste a little bit better than the Lemonchello and Gelato, which tasted almost exactly the same as each other.

Efficiency is top notch with the real CCELL

Cookies Gelato
Cookies cartridge use authentic CCELL carts. Cookies Gelato pictured here.
They picked some of the best carts you could possibly get. CCELLs are very efficient and you get a good rip out it which adds to the efficiency. Nothing to improve on efficiency.

Number of puffs is average

The Cookies oil is not a super slow vaping oil nor a super fast vaping oil, it’s right about the 50% mark. It’s exactly average. That is kind of been the theme of this brand on the cartridge side. Nothing to complain about on this part, but nothing great either.

Value was not here for the user that wants maximum strength, but it can be cheaper than other carts

I base value mostly on strength and I think that is the most important factor when it comes to a cartridge. Some people may place more value on flavor and not care much about strength. However, for both strength and flavor, value is low on High Flyers Cookies cartridges.

Cookies Packaging
The back of the packaging shows the ingredients and THC warning
I would much rather pay $5 more for a stronger cartridge. Then I have to hit less to get the same effect. Its not that this is a terrible cartridge it’s just that for $5 more there’s better options. At some dispensaries better options are the same price.
I always prefer hitting less to get more effect and other brands to accomplish that better than Cookies. If it were not bought for the purpose of reviewing the product and I could go back in time, I would have bought two Aces Extracts vapes instead of three Cookies carts.

Concluding our review of the Cookies cartridge lineup

Each Cookies cartridge did not totally disappoint but they did not impress either. The brand is very popular and there are fakes everywhere which also just shows how popular it is. Cookies flower looks really good from pictures, but good flower does not always translate to good cartridges from the same brand. Cookies carts are technically made by High Flyers, so maybe they are the ones to make the improvements.
High Flyers Cookies carts have big room for improvement particularly making the oil more refined, if that is the right thing to say. At this point we would say Cookies carts are decent, not great. Flavor needs improvement and so does strength to get this cartridge on par with other California brands. We have no doubt they will improve over time and we look forward to trying Cookies carts again soon and updating this review.

Raw Garden Cartridges Review: Was Better Before

Raw Garden vape cartridges are quality products filled with premium live resin. Their products can be found almost anywhere in California’s cannabis market. Here we review a couple of their strains. These were recently taken off of our  best cartridges in California because the quality has degraded.

Pros:

  • High quality live resin
  • Available in any big or small cannabis club or delivery service
  • Affordable

Cons:

  • Resin can get stuck in ceramic mouthpiece
  • Not as strong as it used to be

Licensing Information: THE HIVE CDPH – 10002269

UPDATE 9/2/2020: It’s a shame we have to do this, but we have to say that Raw Garden’s standards have definitely dipped since this review was originally written. For one thing, there is now a class action lawsuit against Raw Garden, alleging that Raw Garden’s live resin isn’t so “live” after all. Take that into context when considering this review.

Check out our video review below of Raw Garden and keep reading on for the more in depth review.

Raw Garden cartridges use quality oil, great hardware, and are priced well

Raw Garden vape cartridges are one of the most affordable, high quality live resin carts in California’s cannabis market. Their concentrates are extracted from quality flowers grown by experienced farmers in Santa Barbara County.

The strains used for this review are Cherry Pop and Raspberry White. We could not find any detailed info on the Raspberry White strain, but it might be a cross between Raspberry Kush and White Berry. Cherry Pop is a sativa and Raspberry White is an indica.

Raw Garden uses authentic CCELLs

Even though their carts are not expensive, they did not go cheap on hardware. All Raw Garden carts use CCELL cartridges, particularly the TH2. These have a glass body and a ceramic mouthpiece. These give a good kick in the hit that most the clones just don’t match up to.

raw garden review
Raw Garden THC carts have their logo etched in the bottom.

Raw Garden made a good choice going with CCELL, leaving us with nothing to complain about on hardware. We would like to see them come out with a syringe as well so we could test it out in different hardware. I bet this oil would also pair well with a SPRK cartridge.

A benefit of the TH2 over other CCELL carts is you can refill it or dump the oil out easily. The plastic top CCELLs are very difficult to open, but these ceramic tops screw right off. If there is a hardware failure, although rare, the oil can be easily dumped out into another cart.

Oil quality is top notch, smooth on the first hit

raw garden cart
Very clear oil on the Raspberry White cart.

Raw Garden vape cartridges have great quality oil. It’s a refined live resin that looks amazing and vapes smooth. Definitely one of the better cartridges out there.

The first hit is an experience since the concentrate inside the vape cartridge isn’t harsh. Some people equate coughing on the first hit a good sign… I don’t. Comparing live resin to live resin, would say it’s about on par with a Justdab cartridge. I think Remedy carts had a little bit better live resin oil, but the hardware is so weak, Raw Garden comes out ahead.

What’s Inside a Raw Garden Cartridge?

raw garden packaging
They keep the packaging simple and we like it.

Raw Garden vape cartridges use live resin with no fillers or additives. The labeling on the packaging guarantees it is a live resin sauce cartridge. Raw Garden’s packaging is fully compliant with California cannabis law.

They are not shy in admitting that their concentrates have CBD in it either.

Raw Garden vape carts are strong, but not the strongest

raw garden packaging
Raw Garden gives you a QR code thst takes you straight to the test results. Nice feature.

There’s no lack of strength on Raw Garden carts. I would put them just below Airo Pro and Select Elite on strength as a comparison. All three use CCELL hardware, but Airo Pro and Select Elite are distillate oils, not live resin.

The Raspberry White came in at an impressive 90% THC. However, THC percentage is not everything. It was for sure strong and in the top 15% of carts, but I have had Airo Pro carts in the 80s that were stronger.

You can still taste a little flower in Raw Garden carts

Raw Garden vape cartridges aren’t as filled with terpenes as I’d expected. Most solvent-based vape cartridges taste like air-freshener. But Raw Garden leaves a little bit of flower taste in there.

I got Cherry Pop and it tasted musty and floral. After the first hit there is a mild sweet after taste lingered once I exhaled. For some, the musty-floral taste in Raw Garden’s Cherry Pop cartridge may be overwhelming.

The Raspberry White cartridge was also floral tasting. Nothing fake tasting about it, but not super flavorful either. If you are looking for something strong with a lot of flavor, check out Airo Pro.

raw garden vape cartridge
Raw Garden carts will work with almost any 510 battery.

Oil lasts long, high number of puffs

Raw Garden cartridges lasts a while. And a half-gram cart, for me, lasted about three to four days with constant smoking. A full gram cart would easily last for a week.

After a few drags from a Raw Garden cartridge, the user gets the effects they want to feel. Raw Garden’s concentrates are in the 80% and up range. The

Value is great for the quality

Raw Garden vape cartridges go for about $30 to $35 for 500 mg.  The full gram cartridges are $60 at most places. Compared to other brands, Raw Garden cartridges are one of the most affordable live resin carts out there.

As a comparison, the Remedy live resin cartridge in Las Vegas costs $46 and used to be $64 at Essence Tropicana West. The Binske cartridge was also about $60. However, Justdab carts are only $35 as well and I would put them on par with Raw Garden.

There isn’t anything remarkable about the technology inside a Raw Garden vape cartridge. It’s just a good and honest well extracted live resin sauce cartridge with good taste and great effect.

Concluding our Raw Garden review

Raw Garden vape cartridges aren’t fake news. They’re real and do not fall under the category of low quality fake cartridges circulating around the black market since they’re their own brand.

In terms of quality, affordability, experience, and taste, I would say their vape cartridges are a good standard. You can find Raw Garden vape cartridges near you on Weedmaps and you can find Raw Garden’s website here.

dankvapescarts.com : Scam Alert, Not Delivering

dankvapescarts.com

We recently got a comment on our fake Dank Vapes post about dankvapescarts.com. A number of Dank Vapes related websites have popped up recently. Seems no one is even sure on whether the Dank Vapes brand or just printed hardware from China. This site is not even selling fake carts, they are just taking people’s money.

dankvapescarts.com Takes orders, does not deliver

dankvapescarts.com scam
More than one commenter has confirmed they are not delivering.

This particular site offers 1 gram cartridges for $25. They then have the customer submit payment via a not reversible payment method.. The problem is these payment can’t be reversed in most situations. We did not take this accusation lightly and emailed the commentor to confirm.

We now  have some screenshots regarding the transaction. Names have been hidden to protect identifies. We waited to see if anything would be delivered and it was not. Another comment was left on July 23, 2019 that they were scammed out of $15,000, but that has not been verified yet.

Proof of the order from dankvapescarts.com

dankvapescarts.com

Above is the order confirmation. Below is the contents of the order. This particular user was scammed out of over $425.

dankvapescarts.com order

Followed up, no response

dank vapes scam
We followed up with the user who never received anything as of July 23, 2019, almost a month later.

Zelle, wires, Bitcoin and Western Union are all read flags

If someone asks for you to pay for something online with one of the above payment method, most likely it is a scam. Unless it is someone you have a business history with we recommend never using these payment methods for anything. Why? You can’t reverse them!

So once you get scammed there is no chance to get the money back. Things paid for online with credit cards or PayPal can be disputed if they do not pay.

At this point there are definitely more fake cartridges out there than real ones. The same can be said for fake TKO carts and fake Brass Knuckles. Here we will break down the transaction and how one customer says they got taken for over $300.

Jackpot Cartridge Review: Hardware Limiting, Oil Good

jackpot cartridge review

Jackpot cartridges use THC distillate and a CCELL style clone. Overall this cartridges are pretty good and you can tell that the oil is good quality, it’s thick, it moves slow, it tastes good and the effects are pretty good. The downside of this cartridge is that the CCELL clone just does not give the same kick in the hits as we would get from a real CCELL cartridge or a SPRK cartridge.

Pros:

  • Good Oil
  • Vapes Slowly
  • Good Taste

Cons:

  • CCELL clone does not perform as good as the real thing

Recommendations: Swap the hardware on this thing and you may have a much better cartridge.

Licensing Information: 03595374519108477279

The only thing keeping this cartridge from being an excellent cartridge is the hardware

jackpot cartridge review
Packaging is simple and lets you see the oil.

Jackpot cartridges are overall decent. I’ve been using this interchangeably with other carts such as the Roots cartridge and the Cannavative cartridge I recently got. Both the Cannavative and the Roots cartridge use authentic CCELL hardware while this uses the clone. I bet if it was using the real thing, this cartridge would probably be really close to a Roots or Cannavative cartridge.

The strain used in this review is Do Si Pie. Jackpot carts are made by Greenpoint NV. They also make Golden Private Stash, which we will have a review up on soon. The Private Stash carts use CCELL and I found those to be stronger than the Jackpots. In fact, I would say Private Stash is one of the best in NV.

Design and Build seems kind of unique

jackpot cartridge
Have not seen this exact clone before.

I have not seen this exact cartridge type before. The cartridge they use is a CCELL clone with a plastic top, I’ve not seen it in this exact color scheme before. Theres no marking on the bottom of the cartridge so you can’t really tell anything about what kind of brand it is. It is some type of clone and i’m sure they did this to save some money, but it really does affect the performance of the cartridge overall.

Oil quality is excellent, you can tell by the thick slow moving distillate

When you look at the THC distillate oil on the Jackpot cartridge you can tell it’s of high quality.

jackpot cartridge oil quality
Looking clean and it moves slow.

It looks clear and consistent throughout all the oil, it moves very slow, and when you’re vaping it you can tell its not just running away super quickly. However, oil quality is not the only thing that makes the cartridge but it is definitely one of the fundamentals to make it good.

Strength is above average on Jackpot carts

jackpot cartridge test results
86.6% THC Is not bad at all. Better hardware and hits will be more effective.

Jackpot cartridges are slightly above average strength but not super strong.  I can’t say that the Jackpot cartridge is coming close to the strengths of Roots, Airo Pro, or Select Elite but it only seems that the only difference here is the hardware, change this hardware and we’re probably on par with most of those brands or at least getting close to it. The THC percentage on this is 86.6% which is really high and is a good THC percentage. However, the current cartridge i’m rotating with this one is a Cannavative cartridge at 80% and it’s stronger mainly just because the hardware is better.

Taste is good, no metallic of off tastes

Taste is pretty standard for distillate and I would say it’s good. This cartridge had pretty much the standard distillate taste did not seem like any flavor was added like on the Airo Pro carts. However, I like the standard distillate taste and I think it’s pretty good, it’s nothing super memorable on taste but overall, it is a good taste.

Efficiency is actually better than original CCELLs

jackpot cartridge efficiency holes
The bottom holes go really low. Placement is comparable to the SPRK cart.

I would say the one thing this cartridge has going for it is the efficiency. The whole placement is probably the lowest I’ve ever seen and I would put efficiency on this cartridge on par with the SPRK cartridge which is amazing considering that the SPRK cartridge is the most efficient cartridge that we have tested.

Now, a few knocks on efficiency for the fact that this cartridges does not hit as hard so every time you get a pullout on this cartridge, you’re not getting as affected as a pull and therefore that does hurt efficiency a little bit. However, the whole placements are just really good.

Number of Puffs is good

Number of puffs is really good. The Jackpot cartridge oil burns slow and the vape cartridge although it does not give the hardest hits and not seem to waste either. So, overall the number of puffs is good.

Value would be better with improved hardware

It’s an okay value. But not that great when there’s better options available. The Jackpot cartridge was the same price as pretty much all the other cartridges in the dispensary besides Binske which was more expensive. They basically go for $45 which is the standard amount of price for a half gram. Thats not a terrible price and it definitely is in the top half of cartridges.

However, when you can get better brands for the same price it does hurt the value a little bit. At this same dispensary they did not have Roots but they did have Cannavative and I would take a Cannavative cartridge over a Jackpot cartridge especially when I’m spending the same amount of money.

Golden Private Stash, which is made by the same company, is often available in the same shops as Jackpot. I would put Private Stash up there with the best even though we don’t have the review up yet. Truly a great oil, great effects, and they use real CCELL hardware.

Concluding our Jackpot cartridge review

Overall, the Jackpot cartridge has a lot of potential. Even as is, it’s still a pretty good cartridge but it could be a great cartridge if they upgrade the hardware. They oil really seems on point and they have high THC percentages. The price is on par with other cartridges.

We just need that simple cartridge upgrade and it’ll be much better. Greenpoint NV is already using CCELLs on the Private Stash carts, they should be using them on Jackpot carts too.

You can find Jackpot cartridges near you here. and learn more about Jackpot Nevada on their website.

True Meds Earth Products Cartridge Review : Another Packaging Company?

true meds earth products cartridge review

Testing True Meds cartridge, we didn’t know what to expect from it. Having never heard of them, we couldn’t find any information about the company online. Additionally, the packaging didn’t seem official nor have any background information on the company. Here we look more into True Meds Earth Products.

Pros:

  • We couldn’t find any

Cons:

  • Thin oil
  • Bland taste
  • No information on company

Recommendations: If this is a legit company, provide more information on the company itself, their cartridges and lab results.

True Meds Earth Products seems to be a packaging company

true meds cartridge
The packaging to these cartridges seem like a generic and amateur type of package.

After doing some research, we weren’t able to find anything about this company. No official website, no social media account, no lab results, not even anything on Reddit about it. The only thing we are able to find is various packaging being sold online. With that being said, True Meds cartridge are most likely pre-filled cartridges that the black market and vendors sell on the streets.

True Meds cartridge gives light hits and a light high

Something about this cartridge is that it is smooth and it does provide light hits. But with that, it does also give a weak high, unfortunately. It took me a while to even feel a buzz, I had to take multiple hits to feel anything. The packaging doesn’t say any THC content so we can’t say how potent it is. We can’t even be sure if it contains any sort of pesticides. But in our experience, True Meds carts didn’t feel potent at all.

Oil quality seems okay, but is very thin

true meds earth products
The oil does look clean and give a nice gold color, but it’s also thin.

At first glance, the oil looked decent and it has a light gold color. But the color is misleading, the oil to the cartridge we picked up is very light and thin. The only good thing about this cartridge is that it is fairly efficient. Although the oil is thin, it is a little thicker than Dank Vapes. As for the strength, the high didn’t feel strong one bit.

The taste to it is very bland and simple

This is another thing I disliked about this cartridge, the one we picked up has little to no taste to it. It doesn’t say any strain name on the package. It just taste like oil and cut, it doesn’t taste like it has any terpenes in it. I personally didn’t like the taste it gives, because of that I didn’t even finish the cartridge myself.

This particular cartridge uses an inauthentic CCELL

true meds earth products cartridge
Taking a closer look, the cartridge to the right is the True Meds cartridge and the left is from an authentic CCELL. It may be hard to see, but the left has seems thinner (the metal tube) than the cartridge to the right.

At first, we weren’t able to tell that it was a fake CELL cartridge. Our cartridge seemed authentic, it has the serial number and all three stamps underneath the cartridge itself. But taking a closer look, we compared it with another CCELL cartridge. Something we noticed is that the center of the cartridge, the metal tube, one is thicker than the other. True Meds vape carts has a thicker metal tube, leaving less room for oil.

True Meds Earth Products sell multiple packaging products

While doing research on the company, not only did we find no background information or any sort of info on them online. But we were also able to find various websites, even Amazon, selling their packaging online. Below, we show the different types of package for the cartridge we found for sale.

true meds earth products
This is the generic package that we picked up.
true meds cartridge
One of many packages they have for sale online.
true meds earth product packaging
This package seems more authentic than the other ones.
true meds cartridge
Another type of packaging from True Meds Earth Products.
true meds earth products
They even have premium roll joint packages.

In conclusion, True Meds Earth Products isn’t a reliable company

Due to the lack of information we are able to find on these cartridges, we can’t rely on them. As mentioned earlier, we have to say that this company is simply a packaging company rather than an authentic cartridge company. We just can’t find any background, website, social media or lab results on the company, there is no proof it is a registered or even a real company itself.

With this being said, the oil can be very skeptical to vape. You can’t be sure what’s in these pre-filled cartridges, be it pesticides or anything unsafe to smoke. We recommend you to get your products at dispensary and to vape at your own risk.

Dabwoods Cartridges Review : Smooth Taste, But Are They Legit?

dabwoods cartridge review

Dabwoods is a popular cartridge brand, known for being the first backwoods flavor vape cartridge. Although people confuse this company with Dankwoods, Dabwoods is its own company primarily selling vape cartridges and merchandise. These cartridges may give smooth hits and a nice high, but there isn’t authentic information on the company to be found online.

Pros:

  • Smooth taste
  • Good hardware

Cons:

  • Oil not that strong
  • No lab results

Recommendations: More information on the company background to show if it is an authentic company or not. Make the oil stronger.

UPDATE 9/11/2019: DISCLAIMER: In light of more recent news, it has become apparent that black market cartridges, counterfeit cartridges, and fake brands of cartridges have become more widespread than we had ever realized. We urge readers to apply their own discretion, and caution that at no point should readers assume that a review of a cartridge on our site is a guarantee of its safety. We advise readers to always verify their cartridges as coming from a legitimate source.

Dabwoods cartridges might be unregulated

dabwoods packaging
The packaging seems to be a simple and generic package, but the hardware they use is unique.

First off, there is no legitimacy as to wether Dabwoods is a legit company or not. After some research, we couldn’t find any background nor official website. Another thing is that they may claim to be over 85% THC, but they have no lab results to their name. The only thing that we were able to find was an Instagram page saying that they are located in California.

Because of this, there are probably are more fakes than there are real ones. Also they don’t have any information as to how to identify real and fake carts.

Dabwoods Pineapple gives a mellow high

The flavor that we picked up is a hybrid and it gives a nice and relaxing high. The high is lighter than I’d like it to be and it doesn’t last too long. It may not be as strong in our experience, but it does give very smooth and soothing hits.

Thin and fairly dark oil on the Dabwoods vape cart

dabwoods oil quality
As shown above, the oil in this cartridge isn’t as clear or of quality as other cartridges.

At first glance, we weren’t a huge fan of the oil quality. It seemed dark to us and it is somewhat runny. Even though the oil is thin, it was still pretty efficient and lasted a decent amount of puffs. Besides that, the taste is better than what the oil quality seems.

This cartridge gives a light, piney taste to it

This particular flavor that we picked up gives more of a piney taste rather than pineapple. Moreover, Dabwoods do give somewhat of a backwoood taste to it. Moreover, it gives off a wood/oak like taste to it. This could be because of the wooden tip, but overall the flavor is sweet and smooth, giving a good mixture of terpenes.

Good hardware allows smooth and efficient hits

Something Dabwoods prides themselves of is their ceramic cartridge with the wooden tip. It does give nice comfort to the lips and is very efficient. At first glance, the cartridge did seem too look like a CCELL. But unlike an authentic CCELL, there is no labels underneath the cartridge itself and it has a plastic ring rather than clear underneath the atomizer. It’s also not a fake CCELL because they are not trying to counterfeit anything, it’s just a clone. Regardless, the cartridge gives soothing and easy hits.

Another thing we noticed about the wooden tip is that we believe that it might affects the taste of the cartridge as mentioned earlier. This may not be true, but in our experience we believe that the wooden tip gave off a wooden/oak like taste.

dabwoods cartridge
There is no serial number underneath the cartridge itself.

Packaging is sold online

What I didn’t like the most about this cart is the fact that they sell the packaging online on eBay. This allows vendors to pre-fill them with what ever they want inside the cartridge. This makes it susceptible to having pesticides, you can’t be too sure what exactly you’re smoking.

fake dabwoods packaging
Online vendors sell these packages with empty cartridges, allowing vendors to pre-fill them with any oil they’d like.

Dabwoods official flavors:

  • Banana
  • Russian
  • Grapes
  • Peaches & Cream
  • Pineapple
  • Honey Berry
  • Strawberry
  • Apple
  • Vanilla
  • Watermelon

UPDATE 3/19/20: Recent new form of DabWoods packaging seen here.

Dabwoods_new_packaging_3-19-20

To conclude, Dabwoods cartridge gives smooth and light hits

Overall, the Dabwoods cartridge is decent and does give smooth hits. The oil quality can improve, but the taste is decent and it does give clean hits. The main thing about this company is that there are many fakes out being distributed. We aren’t even sure if the one we have is a fake, there isn’t any authentic information to be found online as to if they’re legit or not.

Eden Extracts Cartridge Review: A Cart From Paradise

eden extracts cartridge review

Eden Extracts is a company which produces a pair of cartridge lines, the Gem Line and Diamond Line. They are based in Watsonville, California and provide their cartridges all over the state, with the Gem Line being a mid range price point and the Diamond Line being high end.

They make use of a proprietary extraction process as well as extensive testing and meticulous production standards to provide as high quality a product as they possibly can. Eden is also one of the few companies which uses its own original cartridge design and actually delivers in quality.

In this Eden Diamond Line review we’ll be looking to see how it compares to the best in the business by checking out their Gelato strain cart.

Update July 24, 2019: Eden Extracts sent lab results and we have added them to this post. All clean and tested strong.

Pros:

  • Good, natural flavor with no burnt notes at end
  • Heavy high that sets in quick and lasts
  • Slow draining oil that lasts a long time
  • Consistent, thick hits right to the end.

Cons:

  • Not an especially strong flavor

Recommendations: Keep making strong carts. Test availability was our previous recommend, but Eden has now provided that.

Licensing Information: EDEN INFUSIONS CDPH – T00000341

Eden Packaging Branding
Eden Extracts packages their products with professionalism and class that’s far from the norm.

Eden Extracts Cart impresses from first hit to last

Eden’s cartridges are filled with an extremely high quality distillate which is put in a custom manufactured cartridge design made in house. While proprietary cartridge designs are often a sign of all manner of issues with clogs and light hits, Eden Extracts delivers to the same or perhaps one might even say higher quality than even CCELL.

Eden Extract Packaging Tube
Eden’s cartridges come in childproof thick plastic tubes. While this is a minor difference, the higher quality tubes goes to show that Eden cuts no corners.

Very high praise indeed and well deserved at that. Delivering clean and thick hits from start to finish and in spite of some occasional clogs never having issues with clearing them. The cartridge never seems to suffer from any issues with overheating burning the oil yet it also delivers dense white clouds capable of sending even the most seasoned connoisseur into a coughing fit. While it isn’t a cheap cart it definitely never feels like one in any respect either.

Eden Cartridge Packaging Back
While there is some basic information provided on the back there is no in depth testing information provided. This is the only major caveat I have with the brand. It’s an easily fixed one.

Custom hardware doesn’t disappoint

Any time I see a cartridge which deviates from the now quite standardized CCELL I tend to immediately expect problems. I went into this one expecting that as well but was very pleasantly surprised. Not only does Eden’s cart design meet the CCELL standard, but I think it actually manages to exceed them in a few ways. It delivers hits not only as thick as the CCELL carts but even a touch thicker. You can see this on display here in an animation I made to illustrate.

Eden Cartridge Smoke

The cartridge itself has a smooth white ceramic mouthpiece marked with the company logo. Metal fittings hold the oil chamber glass. Small air inlets on either side of the mouthpiece can be strategically blocked or opened with fingers easily to control thickness of hits. It has the company name printed across the glass of the chamber.

It delivers a smooth and natural flavor, herbal and toasty but green like a fresh bowl, from start to finish and never has even a hint of burnt bitter flavors to the last hit.

While the flavor is lighter than most it is still quite nice. Where some carts can be overpowering this one is just right. Some may consider this a drawback but it also means that it doesn’t make the room reek when you hit it. It’s not as light as some others that you can’t even detect it, it’s definitely there, just not as in your face.

Eden Cart Tube Open
The tube perfectly fits the Eden cartridge as well as the majority of other carts. Being of higher quality plastic than most, this is a handy one to save for later storage of carts you’re not using if you tend to switch them out.

Eden provides test results: passes across the board

eden extracts test results
Eden Extracts come in clean and strong.

Our only recommendation for Eden Extracts was to provide test results. Once they saw our review they replied with them right away. It’s great they are keeping everything clean and the strength is the same as it says on the packaging, something we can’t say for Stiiizy.

Not all vapes test clean, so check out our oil pen tests page for info on other brands.

High price point sets high bar, Eden clears it

Eden Diamond Line carts are definitely on the expensive side, comparable in price at $40-$50 to the Cresco carts, but they easily match the quality of competitors at the same price point. It may seem like a pricey cart at first glance. But even with heavy use it lasted me a full week of heavy use before it ran dry. It definitely isn’t a bad deal by any stretch of the imagination. It provides a heavy but very creative and mood boosting high which sets in quick and lasts a long time.

This allows the cart to last a particularly long time even if you are trying to maintain that high throughout the day. This cartridge performs like a champ all across the board and it’s genuinely difficult to pick out anything to criticize. At least aside from the lack of very transparent testing.

Eden cart on pen
I tried this cartridge on three different vape pens and it performed admirably on all three.

Eden shoots for the stars and gets there

Eden’s website talks a big talk and their packaging speaks volumes for their dedication to deliver. Thankfully the cartridges themselves follow through on that promise and then some, providing a practically unparalleled vaping experience I could only say has some competition in the likes of Korova.

his is a cart that any person who is willing to drop the $50 for one should look out for. It will not disappoint you in the slightest.

Eden Cart Empty
The cartridge was quite efficient and still managed to deliver thick hits even when this low. It left not even a full drop of oil behind once the cart was drained.

Concluding this Eden Extracts cartridge review…

Eden stands out from the crowd in so many ways. From its incredibly high quality distillate with its unique rosy hue to its unique and amazingly good in-house designed cartridges. If you have the money for it I can’t recommend this one enough. It easily stands up there with the very best I’ve tried.

The only major improvement I could see them making is if they start including much more transparent test results. If they do that as well on top of it this is easily a go-to top shelf choice right alongside Korova. Even as it stands it is hard to argue against this one and we will be adding it to our list of the best cartridges in California.

If you want to read more about Eden you can do so on their website here. If you’d like to purchase a cart for yourself, there’s a list of retailers here.

Lucid Oils Cartridge Review: Strong Oil, Big Improvement

lucid oils cartridge review

Here we take a look at the Lucid Oils cartridge.  They have come out with stronger oil across the board, including the 87% THC found in this Strawberry Cough vape cartridge. We picked up another cartridge recently and they did change the packaging. Strength has also improved.

Pros:

  • Good taste
  • Decent strength

Cons:

  • Hardware does not hit hard

Recommendations: Swap the hardware to something that hits harder. Currently, I prefer their oil syringe and refilling a used CCELL. Their syringes are some of the best out there.

Update: Lucid Oils carts have gotten stronger and stronger. Now in 2020 they are a different level cart than when we first did this review. Originally we rated this at a decent strength, now it’s a great strength. Price has also become the same as other carts.

The Lucid Oils cartridge proved tasty and strong with the right battery

lucid oils cartridge
In a big instead of a box like most carts.

Originally I tried out their earlier syringe which came in at 68% THC and was not that strong. It was the strongest they had available at the time. That was one of the first time seeing their products and it’s not that uncommon you see stronger versions of oil come out as brands develop better products.

Then they updated their syringes and had cartridges available. You’ll find plenty of Lucid Oils products in the 85% to 94% THC range.

The syringes and carts we still get frequently, more so the syringes since they are $5 cheaper at Tsaa Nesunkwa and I prefer them on once used 500ml of TH2 CCELL hardware (what comes on Roots, Cannavative, Fuze, Jetty, Select Elite and many more). We will usually use 2 syringes on a used cart, so it’s gone through 3 half grams. After that the mouthpiece can get a bit too clogged.

Design could use some improvement, build is solid

Lucid Oils cartridges use a CCELL clone that’s probably the most popular clone. It looks pretty close and also uses a ceramic core, but you can tell the difference in appearance and performance. There are two O-rings on this one as opposed to one on the CCELL, and the tip is a polished metal. The glass is thick and overall the build seems great.

real ccell vs clone
Left is the Lucid Oils cart, right is a Golden Private Stash that uses a real CCELL.

Where this cart under performs compared to an authentic CCELL is on putting out hard hits. It doesn’t have that extra kick the CCELL cart does. However, the excellent oil makes this still a good cartridge.

Micro style battery worked best on this cart

I tried this cart with different batteries and found the SteamCloud Micro, which is basically a SteamCloud-branded Micro battery with a 510 connection, worked better on this cart than my typical batteries I use on CCELL carts. The Micro did not work well with the original CCELL either.

Using the Micro battery made a big difference on airflow. Conversely, the Micro battery seemed to tight on airflow on real CCELLs. The Micro is ugly and not discreet, but it works magic on this clone.

Lucid Oils uses a solventless extract system that produces quality oil

Nothing lacking here on the quality of the oil. I am not an expert, but according to the budtender at Essence on West Tropicana Lucid Oils only makes solventless extracts. The oil is thick, clear, and vapes slow. Where this cartridge was purchased, Nevada, testing is strict so there are no pesticides issues.

Cartridge is stronger on the right battery

As mentioned above the awkward looking Micro battery gets better airflow on this style of CCELL clone. I would much prefer an authentic ceramic top TH2 cart, the same one Roots cartridges use. The SPRK cartridge and Bud Tank V16 are also options that would outperform this clone. Both of those are on par with CCELL carts.

lucid oils battery on cartridge
Not very discreet, but this combo worked best.

This style cart only does so-so the Magic 710 and Vessel battery. Tried both of those before I was reviewing the Micro and found it to match up well with this style. I would still say the Vessel is better on everything else due to the enhanced airflow.

Taste is excellent on everything Lucid Oils so far

Both the syringe I tried before and this cartridge taste excellent. I do think a better hardware would deliver slightly better flavor here. Sometimes this clone gives a tiny bit of a metallic like taste and when I used the syringe version of Lucid in a different style cart it tasted better.

Cartridge is efficient, but better hits could add to efficiency

Nothing lacking on efficiency as far as leakage or left over oil being stuck in the Lucid Oils cartridge. Efficiency takes a bit of a hit on the fact this cart just does not hit as good as some of the other types of hardware out there. You get more out of each hit with better hardware.

Number of Puffs is good, vapes slow

lucid oils cartrige
Getting towards the bottom and the oil still looks good.

Lucid Oils aren’t going to vape away really quickly like a fake Dank Vapes. There’s just THC oil and terpenes in there. Number of puffs was comparable with any thick distillate cartridge.

The Lucid Oils cart is now priced the same as others.

The average cost of a half gram cartridge in Nevada is about $45. The Lucid Oil cartridge was $52 the first time we got it. Now their carts are $40-45 like other brands. At Tsaa Nesunkway they are $40 plus tax.

Airo Pro also was $52 for a while, but recently their carts have dropped down to $45 a piece.

These are prices at a good priced dispensary in Las Vegas. If you go somewhere like Pisos it might be $70+ since a regular half gram Roots there is $65, while it’s $40-45 everywhere else.

Concluding our Lucid Oils cartridge review

The Lucid Oils THC cart is something I would get again if their oils are not available. Since they are using a CCELL clone, I rather opt for the same oil in a syringe.

They did a great job upgrading their strength from previous revisions. We would just like to see a better performing hardware paired with this excellent oil.

You can find Lucid Oils products using their store locator.

Remedy Cartridge Review: Great Despite Weak Hardware

remedy cartridge review

Remedy has consistently made great flower. Here we review the Remedy cartridge. This THC vape cart uses live resin  and has awesome taste. The main improvement needed here is better hardware. The CCELL clone just doesn’t cut it compared to the real thing or something like a SPRK cartridge. However, the oil was so good I got a second one.

Remedy cartridges have strong, quality oil, but could use hardware upgrade

That sums up the Remedy THC cartridge. The oil is one of the best, but the hardware holds back it’s true potential. I ended up swapping the oil into a CCELL just to be sure this was the case. Check out our guide on how to swap oil between carts and you will see my second Remedy cart getting emptied out.

remedy cartridge
Remedy logo is on the side and tip is metal.

The strain used on this review was Clemon Kush. I ended up getting a second card and I forgot that strain, but it might have been Clemon Kush as well. This appears to be a Remedy-only strain as I could not find any further information on it.

High build quality, but design could be improved

Feeling the cart and holding it you can tell it’s made well. Glass is thick and the rest of the cart is metal. I did not rip this one apart, but pretty sure it’s a ceramic core on the inside. Airflow is a bit lacking and the design played into a bit weaker strength which is discussed more below.

You can tell the hardware on this cart is holding back the oil. A real CCELL or something like the SPRK cartridge would make this overall a much better THC cart.

Oil quality is top notch, nice live resin

Remedy cartridges use live resin instead of the more popular distillate. Nothing lacking on oil quality at all here. It adheres to strict testing standards and it’s all clean. Remedy’s THC oil is thick and it moves slow.

Strength is up there on the Remedy vape cart

remedy thc vape cartridge
The oil quality is amazing.

You have to take more hits on this than other carts to get a good effect going but it also uses less oil per hit. THC came in at 90% on this cart. Not because the oil is weak, but because the airflow on the cartridge just is not that good. If you could take big rips on the cart, it would be a 1-2 hitter quitter for most people and comparable in strength to Roots and Airo Pro.

Strength really shined when I switched it over to a real CCELL. The 10% or so loss of oil was worth it to do the swap, that is how much weaker the hardware is on hits. If Remedy had straight live resin oil syringes I would be getting them all the time. Currently I have only seen RSO syringes for sale by Remedy.

Taste is awesome, nothing artificial about it

The Remedy carts taste just like a high end live resin, which is exactly what they are. Nothing on here seems food-type flavored. I prefer this type of taste over that offered on flavored cartridges like that from Flav and Airo Pro.

If you prefer flavored carts, those might be a better option for you. Airo Pro still beats this cart overall for now due to having better hardware. I am no terpene expert, but this cart does not seem to have a whole lot added.

Cartridge hardware loses some points on efficiency due to airflow

The poor airflow on the Remedy cart forces you to have to hit it twice as much as another cart to get the same vapor out of it. I can’t see how that would help efficiency. As far as actual oil just being left over in the cart, the hardware does a good job there. But we would have better efficiency with more airflow and harder hits.

Remedy delivers a lot of puffs

The oil does not vape that quickly and seems to last long even when it was later swapped to CCELL hardware. However, it also delivers more puffs due to the restricted airflow, which is not a good thing. I rather take less hits that are stronger. If you want weaker hits though and some people do, this hardware is good for smaller dosing.

remedy cartridge packaging
Same packaging they put their flower in, but it’s the live resin oil that’s special.

Good value with recent price change

Remedy cartridges were originally $64 a piece for a half gram at Essence Tropicana West, which is one of the better priced dispensaries in Las Vegas. Too expensive at that price but still something I had to try.

They recently dropped to $46 a piece, $1 more than what seems to be the average price of $45 a half gram for other brands. It’s worth the extra $1 to try it out and it’s a unique oil. However, I would not say it presents a better overall value than a Roots cartridge. Give it better hardware and it will be on par, but a different type of oil.

Concluding our Remedy cartridge review

Overall, the Remedy cart is something I would definitely get again just to try out the unique oil. I am sure at some point they will improve the hardware and at that point Remedy will end up in my regular rotation. It’s a great quality, tasty THC oil that only needs a hardware upgrade in order to be one of the best. Even as is it’s still a great product and got an honorable mention on our list of the best cartridges in Nevada.

ENVY Cartridge Review: Decent Strength, Efficient Hardware

envy cartridge review

Here we review the ENVY cartridge. ENVY is a Nevada based brand of Silver State Trading, maker of THC vape cartridges and I picked this one up in Ely, NV. Overall, this is a decent quality cartridge and I can see them coming out with stronger versions in the future. The strain used for this review is Chemdawg 91, a sativa.

Pros:

  • Good hardware
  • Efficient
  • Stronger than some carts

Cons:

  • Ceramic top would be better
  • There are same price carts that are stronger

Recommendations: We would like to see a higher THC version come out that is a tad stronger. For sure they will and we will definitely try ENVY again.

See our video review of the ENVY cartridge below and keep reading on for the more in depth review.

The ENVY cartridge uses good hardware and has good strength

The current carts are still good, but it could be made stronger than it is. This is a newer brand and I think we’ll see stronger stuff coming out soon. They are definitely on the right track and it seems made very well. Since it’s from Nevada, pesticides and residual solvents aren’t an issue due to strict testing requirements.

The ENVY uses standard CCELL hardware with the plastic top

ENVY cartridges use the M6T which is CCELL‘s plastic top vape cartridge design. It hits well and nothing to complain about on airflow. Two things I do not like about this style cart is that you cannot refill it and should there be a hardware failure, they are very difficult to open and get the oil out.

Although failure rates are low, I once had a Select Elite cart fail using the same hardware and it took pliers and a knife to get it open. As opposed to the TH2 hardware that is used on Jetty Extracts and Roots, where you can just screw it open if there is any issue and dump it out.

Oil quality is good on the ENVY cartridges, similar to Select Elite

The oil in these ENVY cartridges looks very similar to that found in Select Elite carts. The ENVY carts are technically CO2 oil though while the Select Elite carts are distillate. If you took all the labels off, the ENVY cartridge could pass for a Select Elite.

ENVY carts are stronger than many others, but still not as strong as Roots

The ENVY cartridge outperforms most of the weaker carts I have tried. They are ahead of Brass Knuckles and Polaris on strength, but behind Roots, Airo Pro, Select Elite and a few others. I would put them as definitely better than average on strength. Not bad at all, but not super amazing on strength on either. The Chemdawg 91 cartridge came in at 75.9% THC and it was the highest THC of the brand we could find at the store in Ely.

They are on the right track though and I think we will see stronger versions come out from them later. Since they are a newer brand, they still are probably working these things out.

Taste is like other CO2 carts

The taste on these tastes like a standard CO2 cart. The only company able to get CO2 completely tasting awesome so far has been W Vapes. These carts don’t do so well on taste, but it is better tasting than the Kynd cartridge.

envy cartridge
Looks like most other CO2 oil cartridges

Efficiency is top notch

Even though we prefer the screw top CCELL, the M6T cart that ENVY uses is as efficient as you can get. Down to the last drop the oil gets efficiently used.

Good number of puffs on the ENVY cart

The oil on the ENVY cart lasts a good amount of time. No issues with the oil vaping away super fast. It’s not the slowest vaping oil, but definitely in the top 1/4 of slower vaping oil, which is a good thing.

ENVY cartridges are standard cost

ENVY carts are $45 a piece for a half gram. This might seem expensive in some states, but compared to other Nevada cartridges this is the standard price. Select Elite carts are often $52, but most other carts are at that $45 price point before tax. ENVY gives a decent value as its a pretty good cart, but until they get the strength up it’s not as good of a value as a Roots cartridge.

Concluding our ENVY cartridge review

Overall, the ENVY cartridge is definitely above average. Hardware is good, taste is standard for a CO2 cart, and strength is definitely better than average. We hope to see an even stronger version coming out soon and I will be giving ENVY carts a try again. You can find more info about ENVY cartridges on their website.

Super G Cartridge Review : Amazing Taste, Smooth Hits

super g cartridge

Super G, formerly known as Supreme G, has been stepping their game up with their new cartridges. Similar to the Dank Vapes boxes but nothing else that compares. Although we came across Supreme pods right before they re-branded, Super Gs is the name they are now using Assuming copyright or maybe just a whole new re-brand, they remain putting out the same products and are the same company. It should be noted that these are not the same as Supreme Carts.

Pro:

  • Taste
  • Direct as noted on the box
  • Decent high, not too powerful

Con:

  • Hardware could be better
  • Soft smoke no thick hits unless drag for 5 plus seconds
  • Oil is a bit thin and runny

Recommendations: Look into lab results, previous results listed were fake. Lab results previously showed clean but same thing with the last review we did with and the results ended up being fake, vape at your own risk.

Check out our video review of the Super G cartridge below and keep reading on for the in-depth review.

Super G Cartridges made by the same makers of Supreme G Pods

supreme g cartridges
Made by the same company, Supreme G Pods are just as great as the carts.

To start, Super Gs are originated by Supreme G Pods. Although they have different Instagram handles, it is multiple backup accounts they have just in case one were to get deleted over the other.

Also, their lack of origins led to fake results being distributed. But, just like their Supreme Pods, the oil hits very clean and gives a pleasant high. There’s nothing odd about this cartridge at all. The only thing is we were disappointed about the thin oil but for what it’s worth, we aren’t sure yet if this one is a random street cart or not.

Previous False Lab Results

Recently, Supreme Gs ave been called out for people posting false lab results, making their brand seem unreliable. Many of us are always afraid to try a new cartridge but fail to differentiate between a street cart and an authentic one. This one is a bit different, only thing is their positive reputation and their fake lab results that others have posted. This seems to happen many times, where people receive a street cart and end up testing negative results for their false oil cartridge.

Authentic Lab Results Show Positive:

super g lab resuts
Authentic Lab Results for Super G carts show all positive.
supreme g lab results
Shown above, Super G’s passes, containing no pesticide or artificial flavors.

Super G cartridges contain great tasting, smooth oil

super g oil quality
Not too thin nor too thick, Super G gives the smoothest and pleasant hits.

First off, Supreme G Carts look decent and the taste was amazing. But after its halfway oil gets runny, probably because of the hardware. Although we believe so, it can also be because of certain wattage you have it on your battery. We tried it with the Vessel battery and realized that with a lower temperature, it didn’t have this same problem.

Smooth and clean taste on the Super G cart

The same flavor as Supreme G Pods, it gives a nice and mellow, sweet taste. It also leads to a sinuous sensation where your nose gets tingly. Assuming that it comes from the terpenes, all it’s all plant-based according to one of the multiple accounts they have. Strong potent flavor probably used a good amount of terpenes. Regardless, the flavor tastes good and gives a clean high. After the cart reaches a certain limit, say less than half low, taste remains but somewhat lighter. Still clearly the same taste just not as strong.

Hardware is decent but hits are more difficult to inhale

As with the hardware itself, the glass cartridge wasn’t all that. CCELL‘s would be better, but in general, the hits did seem soft. There is an engraving inside the cartridge itself with a G, being different from typical cartridges. Assuming the hardware is by iKrusher, it uses custom cartridges for the brand. CCELL Supreme Gs would be impressive because the oil is worth changing the carts.

super g carts
You can notice the engraving inside the cartridge itself and on the mouthpiece.

Fairly Efficient

Similar to the pods, it personally lasted around 5-7 days. The oil wasn’t thick one bit, but compared to the Lil Pump Smoke Unhappy carts, the oil was a bit runny and more potent than it seems.

Overall, a Super G cartridge is worth a try but could be great with better hardware

Re-branding should be considered with the hardware itself. As mentioned earlier, the hardware did make it difficult so take easy hits and thick smoke. Aside from that, we couldn’t find anything negative about them! But to conclude, the taste and oil were great and definitely worth the try.

Currently, their Instagram account has been taken down. If they come out with a website or new Instagram account we will post it back up here.

Bart Carts Cartridges: Facts You Need To Know

11
barts carts

Barts Carts Cartridges are now popping up all over the place. What most consumers don’t know is they are not a legitimate brand. It’s uncertain there is any central company producing the THC oil that goes in these vape cartridges. Basically, there it’s very likely there is no consistency in oil quality across this “brand” and the only thing you can expect to be the same is the hardware itself.

Barts Carts Cartridges aren’t legit, as they would be stopped

bart carts vape cartridge
We don’t think these trademark violations would pass.

Given the obvious trademark violations of Barts Carts cartridges copying Simpsons characters, this brand would be taken off the shelves of any legitimate stores. The interesting thing is these carts do not yet show up on DHgate or Alibaba, where hardware for Mario Carts and Exotic Carts are frequently sold. These carts are not part of the Cart Toon Carts brand and are made separately.

You can’t expect any consistency across the Bart Carts “brand” on anything but hardware

The fact is Bart Carts could be filled by anyone using any oil. There’s no validation for any of the processes. Strength, flavor, and effects could very from one location to the next. This is the opposite of carts like Select Elite that are consistent.

The hardware for Barts Carts will all be similar, at least for now. It’s possible that it will get duplicated as well, but for the current time we can expect consistency across the line for hardware. We doubt their products will hit as good as a CCELL or SPRK cartridge though.

bart carts
That packaging looks similar to Exotics.

Available “Strains” or “Flavors” could mean nothing

Currently there are ten strains we know of for Barts Carts cartridges.

Indica Strains:

  • Boss OG
  • Maui Wowie
  • Papaya
  • Runtz

Hybrid Strains:

  • Banana Kush
  • Banner
  • D’oh Si Do
  • Purple Punch
  • Watermelon Skittles

Sativa Strain:

  • Maui Wowie

Possibly Indica, Sativa or Hybrid:

  • Wookies

The strains listed on the packaging really might mean nothing. So don’t rely on them for anything. Often street cartridges are filled with the same oil across different “flavors.” Also, many black market cartridges contain flavor additives and other than that are the same oil. Basically, take any strain names for granted.

You might see new strain types coming out for Bart Carts, but good chance it means nothing. Occasionally, you may have a dealer that fills his carts true to strain packaging. That’s rare but does happen. There are some black market sellers that do care about their customers out there.

Bart Simpson cartridges are spreading

barts carts vape cartridges
Packed and ready to go, but who knows what’s in them.

These carts are spreading all over and all of them will feature Bart Simpson on them. They are very familiar looking packaging to Exotic Carts and it’s likely they come from the same manufacturer in China.

Eventually you will see these carts replicated also like Exotics. Many sellers make identical looking and performing Exotic Carts hardware that then gets filled by any random oil maker.

Bart_Carts_packaging

The problem with fake brands and cartridges

Whether it comes to fake cartridges that are counterfeits of other brands or brands that are fabricated altogether, the big problem is consumer safety. Nothing is there to regulate what is in the cart. Black market THC carts are frequently cut with MCT oil, Propylene Glycol, and Vegetable Glycerin. Most legit carts are a straight distillate or CO2 oil with terpenes added.

How to find legit cartridges and what to look for in illegal states

When you are in illegal states legit carts are hard to come by. If you are in a legal state the solution is easy: go to a licensed dispensary and from there you should be getting good quality THC cartridges.

However, here’s our tip for you to find good carts in illegal states: Look for the small brands if they are available. It’s common for dealers to say “this is from Cali” or some other legal state. The best thing you can do to get legit carts in illegal states is look for brands that are not yet counterfeited.

For example, if you find a Select Elite or Kurvana cartridge, it’s legit. They don’t make fakes (yet) for those brands. But if you are only seeking out Brass Knuckles and Heavy Hitters, good chance you are going to run into fakes.

BareCali Cartridge Review : Great Taste and a Decent High

bare cali cartridge

To begin with, trying BareCali cartridges for the first time I was a bit nervous. I didn’t know what to expect (just like any other cartridge) My first impression was everything about it looked good? So how bad could it possibly be? The strain flavor I decided to review was Pineapple Express which is one of my favorite hybrid strains.

Pros:

  • Smooth taste
  • Amazing high

Cons:

  • No lab results

Recommendation: Provide authentic and updated lab results.

The authentic company but BareCali Cartridges are all over

After doing some research, we found through their Instagram account that shows they are originally from California, but these cartridges are showing up all over the place. This worried me a bit more as there are tons of fake cartridges out there. It can be difficult to trust some cartridges because you will never know what to expect, whether they contain pesticides, artificial flavors or false lab results in general.

The packaging Presentation seems legit

BareCali cartridge
BareCali packaged seems to be well made, we couldn’t find any Fakes online

So this cartridge came in a box with a cheap plastic mold inside holding the cartridge in place for the little window in the front of the box. The cartridge itself was a basic “CE3 T2” style cartridge with a gold metal tip. I  continued to remove the cartridge and began to screw on my magnetic adapter for my CCELL Silo battery device and dropped it in.

BareCali Pineapple Express tastes amazing

I took my first draw and was shocked when I got the taste of the vapor, it actually tasted good! So I took another pull and the second hit brought back a familiar taste that I have tried in the past. The taste seemed normal for distillate and comparable to the Supreme Carts I have tried previously. It gives a very waxy flavor mixed with just a hinge of pineapple in the aftertaste. With myself being an everyday dabber, Bare Cali really satisfied me with the flavor on this cartridge. Just like most other street carts it also gave me a somewhat metal aftertaste which I would assume came from the coil used inside the cart. This taste is common in most “CE3 T2” cartridges.

BareCali cartridge gives a nice and strong high

bare cali cartridge review
The oil is good and consistent throughout.

It was actually giving me a medicated effect which does not always happen with some of the street cartridges like Dank Vapes. My eyes began to feel heavy and my body as well which was good but the feeling only lasted about 45 mins. The flavor was good and like I previously stated the wax itself looked good inside the cartridge it was a light gold honey color with a very thick solid oil consistency. I was pretty happy with it, after all the taste was good as well as the feeling it gave.

Concluding our BareCali cartridge review

In my personal opinion, I would give this cartridge an 8/10 rating. The reason for that is it was good oil filled in a cheaper cartridge. It would score higher if they used an authentic CCELL or some other type of better hardware, like the SPRK cartridge. But the actual distillate inside was pretty good. There is no current Lab Test available for any products by this brand and that makes it hard to say if it’s clean. But the vapor it provides is very clean and smooth. I would recommend this cartridge if it’s the only thing available to you.
