Fake Pure One Cartridges: Counterfeit THC Vapes

Share

Pure is a vape company operating out of California. We’ve covered a couple Pure products, the Pure Vibe and the Pure THC syringe, before. Inevitably, Pure has gotten to be a big enough brand that counterfeit knock-offs have begun to appear.

Fake Pure One vape carts are popping up everywhere

That’s the first thing to to know about Pure Vape products is that they do not sell online. They have a list of licensed distributors where you may find their products for sale. The second thing to note is that their distributors are only in California, so if you find a Pure Vape sold by a distributor outside California, it’s also not kosher.

The Pure company even uses “a proprietary triple distilled oil,” aimed to be solvent-free and tested to be pesticide free. So if you’re getting a counterfeit, none of these standards would obviously be in effect.

The listing on DHGate for Pure One Vape hits 205 results!

Normally we find half a dozen or so listings. Pure must have exploded in popularity on the black market for it to have this many. Pure One is, naturally, their cartridge model.

Furthermore, a few bunk cartridges have clearly hit the streets by now, as reported by reviewers who have encountered shoddy imitation products:

Not only that, but a concerned Redditor encountered suspicious cartridges in this thread, which gives us a few other clues. The customer got the cartridge from a delivery service. Delivery services in California, not to point fingers, have been known

to be conduits for counterfeit cartridges. There’s a ton of fly-by-night THC delivery services listed on sites like Yelp, many of them literally closing down their website within weeks of their single review.

We found a black market seller on Twitter:

In fact, that whole hashtag soup there lists the who’s who of frequently counterfeited or fake brands. Smart Carts, TKO, and of course the ubiquitous Dank. Wise vape users might just want to make it a rule of thumb from now on: Any distributor who even lists Dank, bail out pronto. Do not pass “Go”!

Here’s another red flag:

“You don’t see it you tell me I got it” – that’s because he’s ordered truckloads of cheap empties off DHGate for pennies apiece and it’s the same bunk he’s pouring into every cartridge. Brand and strain info mean nothing!

Not to mention in the first place, Pure One does not sell online, ever, so every distributor offering to sell you Pure Ones over Twitter is a sham. We’ll say the same for Instagram, Facebook, etc.

Pure One users: Encountered a counterfeit?

We’re all ears! Thank you vigilant readers in your continuing efforts to keep the vape community safe! Talk to us here in the comments or in our forum.

  • Man it's so sad how people are getting ripped off by these. I've been to 4 different states that sell legal marijuana and THC carts and NOBODY sells them in bulk, NOBODY. If you find them in BULK they're FAKE. I use to buy them and I started getting withdrawals when I wouldn't smoke or have them so I stopped. Whenever I go on vacation I'll get a cart but they're at least $40 for a half gram. Don't be fooled guys, you don't know what kind of chemicals people are putting in these.

  • Straight up, I bought around 40 of the pure ones as a regular long time user. In short I’ve been sick every since, running a fever, no appetite, lost 10% of my body weight in 2 months. 100% there are fake pure ones out there that do serious damage to your body. I thought I was dying but I had no physical problems. It was the pens. I look it up and find out they are fakes. I use a lot, Others may not be affected as bad. I was. And to frame myself, I am a 42 year old male. No other habits.

    • I would add also Dan the real Pure Ones, although meeting CA standards of safety, are not good anyway. Really weak even though they are cheap. A syringe was $30 for a full gram, but I would rather pay $40 for a half gram cart of something strong like Chemistry carts.

The funny thing about all the brands that get faked is they usually are not the best ones anyway, except Moxie is fakes and is excellent.

  • I think it’s funny that pure one has a proprietary process for triple distilled oil, considering most companies and garage entrepreneurs also use a triple distilled process, it’s actually quite simple, and if done correctly, it’s the same stuff as any of the “establishment” companies’ products. You ll never know the difference unless some unscrupulous dickhead cuts his distillate with bullshit to increase his bottom line...even at 20% cut, the counterfeiters are barely increasing their profit. If it weren’t for greasy people doing that, it wouldn’t be an issue other than for the corporate boogie men who own these companies. Of course they are going to push a narrative that the black market is bad. But just to be clear, distillate is all the same when refined correctly. Pure one and the rest of them aren’t special.

    • Thanks for commenting, but from what I have seen so far the problem is almost all the black market carts are just not that strong and the percentage of people "making good product" is slim. So if real stuff is available, no reason to risk it. Especially when you got Old Pal coming out with solid carts in CA for $17 a gram and $25 a half in Nevada.

But you are right if there is a good plug making it right and they are consistent and use good hardware then their product can be just as good if it's black market.

Pure One in it's real form though is also a weak product and definitely a lower end product. People like it because it's cheap, not because the strength is good. I remember buying their carts at a real dispo and it was like $30 for a gram back then and most other legit carts were $40 plus per half gram. Would rather buy an Aces Extracts Energize half gram and pay more then get Pure One. Dollar for dollar the high becomes a better deal because it's so much stronger.

Who are the corporate boogiemen operating what companies saying anything and could you post an example of this? If you are referring to our site, check out any of our California best cart list and Nevada best cart list, you'll find most the top picks are small companies most people have not heard of and we're not a corporation. We just select the best and go that way. But really haven't seen much narrative from any of the big companies on anything. A lot of them don't even care to try to debunk the fakes that much. I think indirectly it helps some of their marketing.

Coming soon to all places I am hoping we see more Old Pal and companies like tht, and their prices are going to change the game!

  • Hi it's my first time buying a pure one. I bright it late lastnight. I've hit it a few times it hits good and is filled all the way to the top it does have a few bubbles at the top and it's a bit thick to. It also says ccell Jupiter at the bottom. I just wanna know if it's real. I been hitting it and haven't felt sick or nothing but I just wanna make sure its legit
