Update 02/09/2019: Companies producing fake Exotic carts.

Fake Exotic carts are everywhere. Shady vendors across the country sell all types of fake cartridges and they buy them directly from China. Here, we’ll show how to identify them as well as the name of the companies that are making fake Exotic carts.

Fake THC cartridges are a major problem in the past year. See our other pages for more information on fake Stiiizy pods, fake Brass Knuckles, fake 710 King Pens, and fake Heavy Hitters.

Update 10/21/2019: All Exotic Cartridges are fake, they are only a packaging brand.

What are fake Exotic cartridges?

An Exotic cartridge is considered a fake when it contains oil that was not made by the actual company. In China, companies make cartridges with Exotic cart branding, logos, and packaging. We are not sure if the real company is able to pursue any of the Chinese makers legally, because there might not be a trademark since technically Exotic cartridge is a federally illegal product.

To begin with, there isn’t even any information about the company itself in the first place. Making it more skeptical and unsure about the oil quality and what’s actually in it. Apart of this, there are many fakes out there ranging anywhere from $30 a gram to $60 a gram, sometimes even more. Namely, we highly doubt the legitimacy of Exotic carts as a company. What does this mean? We can’t be sure that the product is pure.

Key things to look for when identifying fake Exotic cartridges

Poor oil quality and low consistency level

identifying fake exotic carts
The distillate should have a thick wax density to it
fake exotic carts do si dos indica
Contributed image from a reader. It had thin oil and piney taste.

Some of these fake carts seem to have a very thin, waxy consistency. Even though these cartridges claim to have 80%-85% THC level, vendors can put any sort of oil they’d like. Some people will even say that some of these carts aren’t as strong as they claim to be. Not only this, but there are others who say that these carts leave a weird, burnt aftertaste to it.

Fake Exotic carts are easy to open and not sealed tightly

If you ever have an Exotic cart that isn’t sealed, or any cart in general, you should be a bit skeptical to whether it is legit or not. These fake Exotic cartridges aren’t sealed right, allowing them to be easily refillable with any sort of oil that people can sell to you. You can tell this by squeezing above the resealable zipper, this will allow it to pop open easily.

The packaging isn’t holographic

All new flavors come in a holographic package

Contributed image. Packaging was good and hard to open but non-holographic.

This is a bit of a contradiction. Exotic carts recently came out with new flavors and will keep coming out with more. With that being said, the packaging to these new flavors come with a holographic tint. Packages without this tint can mean they’re either trying to get rid of their old inventory or they’re possibly fake. On the contrary, there are many counterfeit holographic packages being sold everywhere online.

Has a silver or lighter-color mouth piece to it

Another thing I realized is that some of these fake carts are either silver or light gold. As far as I know, their Instagram page shows the mouth piece with a strong Gold color to it. Most cartridges have a strong gold color to it, but some vendors sell them with a silver color to it.

UPDATE 2021 : New packaging found

As you can see from this post’s date, we were pointing out Exotic cart fakes way back in 2018! Well here it is August 2021, and we ran across these:

Exotic-carts-Joe-Tiger-King

“Rona guaranteed or your money back” – You know what, I’m starting to love the 2020s. It’s like every 1980s dystopian teen movie came true at once.

This, of course, is a reference to the TV reality show Tiger King. It was a huge hit right when COVID-19 started up. Recognize it here?

Tiger_King

When the US first reluctantly started lockdown quarantine, millions of Americans took to streaming video at home, and Tiger King suddenly got popular through sheer viral luck. China cart packagers just went “well it came up in Google, it must be part of our branding!”

Exotic-carts-presidential-kush

The second one is modeled after former US president Donald Trump, as a “presidential kush” strain. (hint: there is no such cannabis strain). This one echoes those “Fat Donald” carts we saw way back when. I’m getting to know Chinese packaging art too, and I’ve seen this one-eyed cyclops motif all over Exotic carts packaging before – plenty of examples on this page. I think it’s their cultural way of depicting a foolish person. Traditionally, the cyclops represents narrow-mindedness, or people who see things through only one perspective. But they also brand the Kool-Aid pitcher with it, so maybe to them it just means their artists can’t draw 2 eyes.

Here are the companies that are making fake Exotic carts

For ones that had a picture I am including a picture so you can identify fakes better. The picture of each company’s fake will be below their information. Please add any data you may have in the comments section or discuss fake Exotic carts here on our forum. This page will be updated as new fakes are found.

  1. I recently got some exotic carts with black caps 1g. Strawnana tastes like it. Has light oil that isn’t thin, but there is no exotic carts or anything stamped on it. Might be a fake but it’s pretty legit. I feel high.

  2. I bought exotic carts recently from what appeared to be a fairly reputable dispensary through one of there promotions. I was pretty disappointed after doing some research.

I noticed that the oil in the cart was darker and perhaps more viscous than it should have been, although the flavor and effects were pretty dead on. After looking up close at the cart I could tell forsure.

With exotic carts there is one sign that they posted on their site that happens to be a dead ringer. Every exotic cart has “exotic” engraved into the pipe that runs within the glass receptical holding the concentrate. A fake will say “krusher” or something else.

Apparently these, cereal carts, kingpens and a few others are often faked in the same ways. It’s best to just buy from a more reputable brand.

  4. All the people you hear about getting hospitalized from vaping are using this black market garbage filled with who knows what. No one is getting sick from the legal stuff.

  5. I got an exotic skittles cake … it had a clear round plastic top. However it was good. So even tho it was fake, whoever made it did a good job…risky tho

  6. This past week I have gone through 4 carts of the exotic vapes [2 Pinapple Express-2 strawberry shortcake] and this is what I learned… first thing I noticed was that it wasn’t getting the job done lol as they would. And I assumed it was maybe my tolerance UNTIL I SMOKED THE WHOLE CART WITH HARDLY ANY AFFECT. my mind was blown. The crappy part is that it took 3 carts for me to understand that little laylee got jipped ????????????‍♀️ (I’m the kind of bitch who cries when they get ripped off but doesn’t confront them lmao)
Basically 1: the only carts I’ve ever had short circuit my batteries
    2: nasty burnt taste
    3: package was completely sealed
4: I suspect CBD oil because I felt a buzz?
    5: Didnt do squat
I would just overall avoid these

    • probably got a fake that was made way to thin. when you make one to then u can feel it but it just doesnt do the trick because its not getting enough thc in your body, just mostly turpenes or oil.

  7. Go to a legitimate dispensary in California and pay between $65 to $90 for a vape. The state follows plants from the seed. Many growers have both, legit and black market grows. You can buy packinging for many Vapes from Amazon. It all depends on who,s producing the oil. It’s not in their best interest to produce shit. Simple economics. Cases of legit product does not end up in states where it’s illegal. I know I’ve tried getting them.. Test them, the ones I have kick ass. A couple of schmucks made some inferior ones and now they have a bad name. I know the guy who makes them and he,s really anal about product consistency and potency. He’s decided to change brands. Packinging will be a bit more expensive, so you’ll pay more. Moral of the story is, if I sell you a real dispensary pen from LA in NY I’m charging at least $125. And my shits better.

    • I would clarify that is probably for a full gram price in one of those areas. Also CA’s testing is not that strict as many “legit companies” keep coming up dirty. Nevada is very strict, but also expensive. See our oil pen tests lists for the CA companies that consistently have come up clean:

      http://3.80.3.10/oil-pen-tests/

  8. I recently bought an exotic cart Maui wowie, In the inside of the mouthpiece it has Exotic carts engraved all around it . Could this be a sign of legit ness??

  9. Anyone heard of Smoke Loud Labs? Comes in a black rectangular box, with a sticker regarding composition and THC percentage… Carts themselves say either iKrusher or iKrusher 03. Flavors found have been the (seemingly typical) Pineapple Express, Yoda OG, Purple Haze, Strawberry Lemonade. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

    • Have you found anything more? Just got exactly same brand and box, fruity pebbles. There is zero fruity taste. Have to give it a go again. Check effect? Kind of had trees prior.

    • I’ve been getting them pretty regularly from a connection to claim to know who fills them. I’ve never gotten sick or anything, but still really can’t find the brand promoted in any legit dispensary. Sometimes they taste slightly “burnt” otherwise they’re always fine.

  10. The truest carts out there were and still are one of the originals, are the Kurvana carts. They stated anywhere from 89-97 percent pure, and I can stake my life on it as well. They were so precise with their product that they even broke down each cannabinoid that was within the strain, along with the purity tests for pesticides, molds, bacteria etc. Everybody has got the exotics and the dank vapes and the mario crap as well. I mean EVERYBODY. It truly sucks and really puts a damper on the industry.

  11. i just want to remind people you’re buying carts. some dispensaries make their own and some are made by the growers. who actually runs any of these cart companies. before legalization we were trusting our drug dealers.

besides i smoke California Confidential carts (find them @cc.extracts)

  12. I’ve tried a ton of carts. I’m sure all but 1 were fake. It happened to be a cereal cart boo berry. I could actually smell the weed inside the box. A couple of puffs got you ripped. The smell is the common denominator. If you can smell it, it’s got a high % of THC

  13. I bought a lot of fake exotic carts before until i finally got in contact with one of the reliable suppliers of legit exotic carts. The taste is completely different. You can tell the difference between what they sell and what others sell.

  14. Yeah this is very true. I will recommend you buy
Buy high quality Exotic carts from buymarijuanaonlinetoday.com
They got good , real and hq exotic carts.

  15. This is in response to the last comment about buying packaging. China sellers ALWAYS steal photos of the real thing. I’m an online seller on a product not having anything to do with this… and the Chinese sellers come on eBay and Amazon using my photos that I literally took in my garage and sell their crappy remake for 10% what I sell my stuff for. The product people get is nothing like the photo.

    • I have my med card love my oils and anything i get from disspensarry gets u high with 2 to 4 pulls i coukd smoke a entire cartridge of these exotic carts and they dont do anything waist of money best bet is to get a few grams of dabs and shatter batter put in microwave 15 seconds so the dabs melt and mix with 3 grams of shatter batter to every 1 gram of dabs ends up being between 70 and 80 % thc

  16. There is no factory seal on the bags they put the cartridges in just a Ziploc it’s supposed to have a seal over top the Ziploc it does not cannot be real they would’ve sealed it with the heat sealer to keep tampering Much harder if it only has a Ziploc it’s not completely sealed it needs to have a factory seal above the Ziploc

  17. Damn it I’m mad now. I got two carts tonight. One cereAl and one exotic. I’m 99% sure the cereal is fake and now I’m thinking the exotic is too.

  18. If u had choose what cart use think is better tasting strawberryshortcake or purple punch hav never tried neither ?? Some almost have a afterflavor like ide have compare it to some sort spice from out of your kitchen at least wedding cake

  19. I’m more concerned with what’s in the cart itself. I could give 2 shits about who makes them. How can I tell if my oil is cut or not. I’m really looking to buy pure. That can be extremely challenging in non legal states, where I get from a friend who got it from another friend.

  20. Hi there I bought 2 exotic cartidriges both gorilla glue and they have a red rubber cap on mouth piece and dark color and no engraving anyone know if it’s real or fake

  21. My friend gets the king pens and swears they are legit, definitely not lol. I just got a few @valhalla_laboratories they say kING TOAD on them and have a strain name like “fruity p. og” has a yellow label comes in a plastic vial, any info appreciated

  22. I bought 2 exotic cart cartridges this is my first time buy vape pens so I didnt know their were fakes or what im suppose to look for or any of that good buyers information their both exotic carts one is holographic and the other is not one cartridge says ald ikrusher and the other says exotic and has an eye ball at the end why would they both be the same brand but use different catridge brands I know brands are always consistent with labeling thats the main key of telling them from fakes i just want to better understand what im looking for when purchasing

  23. Here are some different fake exotic carts… they have kingpen printed on the cartridge on the glass/plastic part of the cart where oil is stored

  24. I got the OG Yoda today and the inside says ikrusher, has gold tip, and the top won’t twist off. It seems ok. Do u all think it’s real?

  25. So ive been getting exotic carts qith the ikrusher engraving and as far as i can tell these have been perfectly fine and not tampered with. Just letting you guys know my experience thus far and ive gotten about 2 dozen and still havent had a complaint nor made one. ??

  26. I just recently switched from flower to oil/carts. etc. Purchased Exotic Cart for first time. Engraved inside the cart. Was qLd iKrusher? No happy. I may have gotten a “fake” one. I’ve been getting DO-SI-DOS from Golden Horseshoe and Seven 10 Diamond Company for months and no complaint. Much appreciate to everyone for sharing there knowledge every bit helps.

    • Haha at least ikrusher makes quality vape products and also a bay area company so they are probably better than 90% going around

    • In Dallas it seems like every little wannabe is either replacing it or just have fake ones. Im glad to have a great plugs from the WestCoast that get nothing but the best. Man I know a dude that vaped motor oil cause whoever he got it from had emptied it out and replaced with the motor oil

  27. My back isn’t holographic but it has a red eye logo on the bottom right front corner that is Holo has exotic carts engraved on the inside coil and came with an exotic carts cardboard laminated token on the inside of the ziplock?

  28. The only real exotic and Mario carts say exotic or Mario on the inside of the tank going up the coil. NOT ikrusher those are the fakes!! Only buy the ones that say exotic or Mario on the inside of the tank!!!

    • That’s the brand new packaging with the engraved logo on the inside. Ikrusher is a product company and used to have their cartridges wholesale but took them off market bc of fakes being produced. Ikrusher or ikrusher 03 was the first cart used and they switched to the ala ikrusher after duplications started being made. Now it’s mario carts and exotic engraved in the cart

  29. You are fooling YOURSELF if you think there is such thing as a “legitimate” Exotic cart. These are not real quality distilalte at all and you will NOT find quality ones. Some have better terpenes and better mixes, but this sh*t is home-made! Same to Mario karts/Moo Stix or any variation.
Brass Knuckles is a step up because they actually have legitimate versions that are high quality.
Dank Vapes is in between the two.
DONT get headaches and hurt yourself because you can’t find the medicine you want! Do some research!

    • even if you piss dirty every month that isnt telling you your cart is real. the distillate some of these companies producing fake carts is more cost efficient, that is why vendors buy from china. to save money. what is the distillate exactly you may ask? they can use anything they want to cut costs. your cart may get you high but may also completely unhealthy for you. try smoking hot dog water, let me know how good it is for you lmao

    • Mines say iKrusher® -03 inside tank with oil with strong gold color but the oil looks thin moves too easily inside tank

  30. Both “companies” that manufacture exotic and mario carts are actually just packaging companies. They don’t make or sell oil they only sell packaging

    • So the ones that have the aLd I Krusher on the inside are those fake cartdriges? If so what is exactly in them and is there any sort of test kit I can buy to see what’s inside?

  31. Do you mind posting up close photos of the legitimate packaging and the cartridge? Also, are they supposed to say ‘aLd Krusher’ on the inside of the cartridge?
